Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Did the Republicans get the ass handed to them last night?
I'd kind of say, yes. Will there be an overreaction?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Does it matter? Maybe you're listening to the overreaction election
crap on the Chad Benson Show. That's right, the over
election crap and the overreaction. Of course there's going to
be some overreaction, but there's some real stuff here too.
(00:43):
If you're a Republican, how do you look at this?
And if you're a Democrat, how do you look at this?
Cause the most progressive city arguablate in America outside of
like a Berkeley or portions of Seattle, Portland, but as
a whole is New York. And what happened, Well, they
(01:05):
picked somebody last night, Zoramandani, who everybody saw coming was
going to win, did a masterful job in getting out
there and connecting and talking about the thing that matters
the most, affordability. Affordability, affordability anyone.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
The sun they have set over our city this evening.
But as Eugene Debs once said, I can see the
dawn of a better day for humanity for as long
(01:45):
as we can remember the working people of New York
have been told by the wealthy and the well connected
that power does not belong in their hands.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Fingers bruise from.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Lifting boxes on the warehouse floor, palms callous from delivery
by candlebars, Knuckles scarred with kitchen burns. These are not
hands that have been allowed to hold power.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
The new mayor, ladies and gentlemen of New York cities
are on mandatti. Oh, I look at this in a
much different way than a lot of other people, did
you know what like Greg Abbott tweets out you know,
you know, rip or whatever, crappy tweeting. So many people
are just overreacting. He won because, first of all, democrat
(02:36):
was always gonna win. Secondly, and this is very important,
this is more rebuke of the ruling class of Democrats
than anything else in New York. Okay, And the chances,
the chances of him getting a vast majority of the
(02:57):
things that he wants done is slim to none. What Yeah, yeah,
he's not. He's going to run into so many things
with you know, first of all, a lot of the
stuff he wants to do well, the state is going
to have to prove several of those things. And that's
just not gonna happen. Kathy Okle. She may have gone
behind him, but she's not going to chase away a
(03:19):
tax base in her state. He'll be able to do
something inside of New York City, but not the way
that you know, like anything, you promise the world and
if you're lucky, you get one or two things through.
But their overreaction on both sides is spectacular, because that's
(03:40):
what I love about politics. Anytime you can overreact, you
know what, you better go ahead and do it. And
they did, and they did and they will. So writing
New York off as if it's done and dusted and
it'll never come back is absolutely foolish. On the other
side of it, Republicans, people are pissed, people are angry. Affordability.
(04:08):
I've been saying that affordability, affordability, affordability. What's it about.
It's about affordability. What's it about. It's about affordability, affordability, affordability, affordability, affordability.
People do not feel that they are getting ahead. They
feel like they're getting further behind. And you can be
Donald Trump and tell everybody you're foolish. It's the greatest
has ever been. It's the best economy blah blah blah.
They look and they say, the rich are getting way richer,
(04:32):
the middle class is barely keeping their head above water,
and a lot of other people are sinking to the bottom,
and they're frustrated. And over and over again, the exit
polls said that over and over again. In fact, so
(04:52):
the exit polls yesterday, when you go and look at them,
there was seventeen thousand people that were essentially ask questions
about how they felt across several estates Virginia, New Jersey,
and California, New York City. Across the board, inflation and
(05:13):
affordability dominated, and I do mean dominated. The concerns wasn't
even close. What about immigration, one in ten, crime, negligible, negligible,
(05:34):
I mean it was barely there. Most of the stuff,
the cultural issues and all that stuff. No, you don't
care about cultural issues when you have to put food
on the table. And we're in day thirty one thirty six.
It's a record, we're shut down in history. People are frustrated,
(05:57):
they're angry, they feel like things are getting away from them.
And you know what, I hear a lot of people say, well,
you shouldn't trust the government for anything. That'd be great,
And you're right, except for the part where government puts
himself into everything. So it's hard not to be frustrated
(06:21):
at government and ask, how are you going to fix this? Well,
why should we fix it? This should be a you thing. No,
you broke it. Now you want me to fix it
and pay for it. This is falling on deaf ears
for a lot of people out there who keep hearing, no,
everything's great, it's never been better. We're going to be fine.
(06:41):
Affordability is the key issue. You want to know why
the special election earlier this year in Iowa, in a
very red area, why it went blue. All they talked
about was affordability. Mom, Donnie talked about affordability. The exit
polls yesterday, affordability. Do you see where this is going?
(07:05):
Afford ability? Scott Jennings, It's no big deal.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
I mean, look, these are blue states and Democrats were
supposed to win, so I wouldn't overread it. Virginia in
particular has never been.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
A great bell weather.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
I don't think a lot of folks had a lot
of confidence in the Virginia campaign that was run on
the Republican side. And New Jersey is New Jersey so
I would hesitate to overread it. I don't think the
concerns you raised real legitimate political strategy concerns. I think
I just want to offer condolences to Chuck Schumer. Honestly,
what I'm reading here in New York City is that
(07:39):
AOC is going to be the next Senator from New
York after she gets on a whooping his rear end
in the twenty twenty eight Democratic primary and for his
Senate races in twenty twenty six. I see the energy
in the Democratic Party tonight behind a socialist, and I
see the energy in Virginia Democrats looking the other way
on a violent candidate for Attorney General who says he
wants to murder Republicans and their.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Children, which is crazy, but it shows you how dissatisfied
and pissed off people were that Jones ended up winning.
And remember all the text messages he had sent about
wanting to kill the former Speaker of the House in
you know, Virginia, and if he was in a room
with what was it, whole pot and Hitler and there
(08:20):
was two bullets in the gun as well as the
former speaker, he put two in him. I mean it
was it's as nine ridiculous, but there's a Trump effect
right there. And that Trump effect is prior to Trump,
that person, right whoever that person would have been said
something like that would be gone. But now it just
doesn't happen because everybody looks around and the norms have
(08:43):
been broken about things that in the past in certain ways.
And it's a shame but true. But it also goes
to what I think Scott was right about. Is you
go and look at Chuck Schumer in them as I've
been saying something like Monday, he is an answer to
(09:07):
everybody's old nobody has a clue. They're all out of touch,
and that is it. The funny thing is with somebody
like Mandani, how many people supported him, and at the
same time, when asked if they believe in socialism, they're like, no,
(09:31):
we're capitalist. That says to me so much more. You're pissed,
you're angry, you do not like the status quo. It's
Chuck Schumer and the likes it's corporatism. And they don't
care about affordability. Why because they can afford stuff. They
can afford stuff. So very interesting. Indeed, we're gonna have
(09:51):
more of this throughout the day, a lot of good
stuff today. One hit wonder Wednesday as well, government shut
down in the midst of it not getting any better.
And that was also something I was sitting there last
night going, Okay, how is the reaction here from the
(10:12):
wins and losses? Well, there really wasn't any wins for Republicans.
The losses. What does this mean for them? Does this
mean that they've got to pivot a little bit, or
does this mean it's just we're going to keep doing
what we're doing and we're going to hold out. I
think what this does is it energizes the Democrats to go,
(10:34):
you know what, We're going to hold out for as
long as we need to because we feel like we
have momentum on our side and why should we come in.
You guys got served last night, So we're going to
stay out here longer and make this issue an issue
that you're going to be responsible for when it comes
to the shutdown. So that is the market has changed
(11:01):
where they believe the eight through the eleventh now is
going to be the place that we see them come
together and end this government shutdown. And maybe somebody has
to do with this, Maybe it doesn't It's going to
be interesting, no doubt, a lot of stuff. Like I said,
to get to today, reach out to uscross all of
our social media. I love hearing from each and every
one of you and again overreaction for sure. But affordability,
(11:27):
as I've been saying, is the keyword, not just in
this election but always. It's always about the economy, but
affordability in the economy is the keyword here three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad Mensa

You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Guess who's not shut down? Government? Scotus Supreme Court hearing
a massive, massive case today when it comes to tariffs. Tariffs,
If you will, it's.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Huge legal experts say the stakes in the Trump tariff's
case at the Supreme Court are staggering. If the tariffs
are invalidated, the government could ow tens of billions of
dollars in refunds to businesses, and the president could lose
a key bargaining ship in foreign negotiations. Trump argues emergency
tariff power is critical to the US economy, while challengers
(13:52):
say he has exceeded his authority under federal law and
the Constitution. A decision is expected early next year.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
This is huge, huge, You say yes, I say huge,
And the reason is simple. This is going to also
check his power across the board or give him and
the next president carte blanche to do a lot of things.
This also neuters Congress more because remember Congress is supposed
(14:20):
to be the purse. And this will not only affect
the relationship of Congress and the president. Meaning, you know, everybody,
it's three co equal branches, right, This's the way they
look at it at this point in time, depending on
whose president. Sometimes you feel like the president has more.
(14:42):
Sometimes you feel like it's the Supreme Court. You know what,
you never say it's Congress. Congress has given up much
of their power because they're always running for reelection. We
live in a in instantaneous world and they pay the
price for it on the internet over and over and
(15:04):
over again. In their minds, it's just better to do
as much as you possibly can without doing anything. And
trust me, you know who wants this to go through
the Republicans more than anybody else. That they uphold this
because it takes another burden of them having to make
a decision about tariffs.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
Justices will zero in on the International Emergency Economic Powers
Act of nineteen seventy seven, which gives a president the
ability to quote regulate importation of products during an emergency,
but makes no mention of tariffs.
Speaker 2 (15:39):

the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
President Trump says the broad language gives himpower to rectify
persistent trade deficits, but business is challenging the tariffs, say
the amount to illegal taxes that have cost a mayor
Erican families more than seventeen hundred dollars each on average
and higher prices this year alone.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
This is going to be big again. They're not going
to have the decision until early next year, but you
can always get a sense during the Q and A
how you think this is going because of the election
last night and all the stuff that was going on.
One thing that's not getting the coverage that would be
getting the coverage is that UPS plane crash yesterday. If
you've not seen it, here's the weird thing of the world.
(16:27):
We live in now deren and you see this plane
crash just outside Louisville in several different angles.
Speaker 6 (16:34):
A UPS cargo plane crashed near Louisville International Airport. Seven
people confirmed dead overnight, but officials warn that number could rise.
Several others were injured on the ground. The crash badly
damaging a fuel storage and autoparts business.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
The jet was.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
Loaded with two hundred and fifty thousand pounds of fuel
heading to Honolulu with three crew members on board. Sources
say the thirty four year old plane, on its third
flight of the day, experienced engine problem during takeoff.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
You've got some couples who are driving and they had
their phones out and you could see the planets the
planet as has taken off, it's on fire. Then You've
got a guy who is in a his like you know,
is eighteen wheeler. He's just sitting there eating lunch and
he's got one of those dash cams and you see
it just come through and turned sideways, and it is
just ooh, it is crazy what happened. And now, of
(17:24):
course you're gonna get it's because of the government shutdown. No,
it is not because of the government shutdown. Some things
just happen, and this is one of those things. If
you're miss any of the show, grab the podcast. A
lot of stuff to get to when it Wonder Wednesday
as well. This is the Chad Benson Show, then Chad
Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
It's Wednesday. As you know, not only do we do
one hit Wonder Wednesday, we do White Woman Wednesday. This
is where liberal women tell us men heterosexual, cisgendered, normative, patriarchal, toxic, masculinity, havers,
how bad we are and our girl Kylie, well, she's
(18:26):
talking not so much about that right now, but about
the election.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Do you feel hopeless right now?
Speaker 7 (18:31):
Here to say some Trump supporters are actually regretting their votes.
Estimates as high as one in four people who voted
for Trump regret their votes, and on anonymous forums like Reddit,
people have poured out their feelings about how much they
regret voting for him. People like farmers who have been
upset that they're not getting support and money is going
to Argentina instead of no. Young voters who feel manipulated
by the MAGA movement, and centrists who aren't necessarily committed
to a political party have all expressed serious remorse over
(18:53):
their vote. Fact that people are admitting that they're not
happy with the election in the way things have been
with Trump is a serious step in the right direction.
As you know, in cults, people who speak out against
the leader are seriously punished or ostracized and experience a
lot of hostility, which typically prevents them from speaking out
in the first place. So although it may feel hopeless
and like fascism has been descending upon us for a
few years, there actually is a sign of some progress.
(19:14):
That's why it's so important to have conversations with these people.
If you're a white person and you have family who
are Trump supporters, this is a really good time to
try to get through to them, especially because a lot
of Republicans want the Epstein files to be released could
be used as a way to find common ground with
them and convince them to not be maga anymore. So
I have a long way to go, but the fact
that his appruval rating is dropping is a serious sign
of good news.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
There's always going to be a buyer's remorse that happens
in politics. It's always going to be a viru's remorse.
And I go back to this always when you hear
stuff like this, Remember, Trump is there because Democrats failed.
Trump is there because the Biden administration allowed twelve plus
(19:56):
million people to come into our country unfettered access to
just about everything that they could get, and people got
sick and tired of it. People were frustrated and angry
by being told that inflation was transitory and that the
(20:20):
economy's great. You're just missing it. People were frustrated. So
while yes, people may be frustrated with Trump, people were
pissed and frustrated with the entire Biden administration, especially at
the end. And let's not even forget the fact that
you put up an absolutely horrible candidate and the person
(20:42):
you did have as president, who was our president, all
of ours, wasn't all there, and you lied to us,
So there was a lot to it. Yes, there may
be some frustration with Trump, I understand that, but let's
not pretend that it was stolen from you because you
guys were doing such a great job. No, you jacked
(21:03):
the pooch and you failed and you failed. So just
want to remind people of that that you Democrats out there.
A lot of what took place last night during the
election and what all this, Oh my god, what's it
(21:25):
mean for everybody? A lot of that was a rebuke
on the old school way that things have been done
and how the party's been run, and how they're as
bad in many cases as what they say the Republicans are,
because they're just as much about crony capitalism as anybody else.
(21:46):
So let's not pretend for a moment that somehow Trump
came in he filled a void, and that void was
easily filled because of how bad the Democrats did. A five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three act. She had Benton show
is your acts, your Insta, your YouTube, your Facebook and
more coming up? We got a little one hit wonder Wednesday. Meanwhile,
(22:10):
yesterday we talked a bit about the GOP Civil War
because it's become it's it's high school, a little bit
more serious, but at times it's very high school. And
a lot of it has to do with the fact
that there's a guy named Nick Quintez. You don't know
who he is. He's like twenty seven years old. He
is a troll of epic proportions. He is a racist,
(22:33):
he's anti Semitic, he's all of the things. How much
of it's real? Again, I go back to I think
a lot of it is ginned up because it works
for the audience. But he has a young audience. He's
talking to the young. He's filling the void of the
(22:53):
young that are looking for somebody who is going to
help them get their message across politically, and he's serving
them everything they want. And he went on with Tucker Carlson.
Now Tucker Carlson is being absolutely destroyed because he brought
(23:13):
Nick on and he kind of softballed Nick, as did
Dave Smith. But you know, it's a conversation. Yes, he
did go harder after Ted Cruz, but that was really
on the issue of Israel, which is a lot of
what this is all right, because there's no doubt. Look,
I think a vast majority of what Nick Fointes says
(23:35):
is abhorrent and vile. But I'm not for canceling people.
And this is where this battle has gotten to. And
over the weekend we touched on it a bit. Yesterday
was the getting together of the Republican Jewish Coalition or
(23:56):
something in DC, and we played a bit yesterday of
Randy Fonn, who's a clown. But Mark Levin was there
as well, as was the likes of you know, Lindsey
Graham and whatnot. And you know, they're talking about canceling
and Hitler. Youth is what Tucker Carlson is and I
just sit there and I laugh and I get pushed
(24:18):
back here all the time. But this is growing. And
part of it also has to go back to the
fact that, you know, Charlie Kirk led the young, but
they got frustrated with him in Israel and he could
see that, and he was trying to walk a fine
line there like what do I do, how do I
do this? How do I manage this? How do I
you know, go here and go there and how how
(24:41):
It was very frustrating for him and you could see
that in the text and all the things that came
out later on after his after his death, and Nick
doesn't care, can't stand Israel's raised it, all of the things.
There's no doubt that being said, a lot of the young,
including young men, are going there because and listening to him,
(25:04):
because he is talking around those issues about things that
matter to a younger generation, and not just men. My
little brother is twenty five years old. Him and all
of his little friends, the Israel thing and the Epstein thing,
they want nothing to do with Macca. And they were
huge Trump supporters. They want nothing to do now with
(25:27):
Mecca because they feel like them and sold to Billy Goods.
And I will tell you this too. The impact of
watching many of these people enriched themselves around Trump has
also pissed them off tremendously. They're not ideologues like somebody
who is sixty five, and they're frustrated and angry. And
(25:52):
this thing with Nick Fuentes is giving him more power.
Tucker has become a pariah in the conservative world, and
arguably as far as influencers go, he may be the
most powerful and influential of all of them. And Nick
Fuentes has influenced as well. And a younger generation is
going to him because while his rhetoric is abhorrent, when
(26:15):
he does get into his stuff about race, they listen
to him about how the right wing has bamboozled you
into thinking that you're a victim and they can help you,
when in reality they're not interested in that, and that's
what he keeps telling them. And the young are not
(26:36):
as ideologue driven as an older generation, so they're malleable
and they will leave and they are three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Shed Benson Show,

Serving up Talk Radio Medium, rare and dripping with irony.
It's Chad Benson.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
That's one of my favorite segments that we do each
and every week. We have fun talking about one hit wonders,
songs that came, groups that came, singers that came. Sometimes
they were there for only a minute, song was big,
they disappeared, Nobody hears from them again. Sometimes the music
(28:49):
and the group even though it's only their one hit
is enduring, and we've got one for you today that
is very enduring, very very enduring. Ladies and gentlemen. Let's
get to it now.
Speaker 8 (29:06):
It's time for another edition of One Hit Wonder Wednesday.
You may not remember the name of the band, but
you definitely know the song. This Bruiser, This is one
(29:37):
Hit Wonder Wednesday. All right, One Hit Wonder Wednesday. Man,
there is so much about this because it was the first.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
It was the first. And I say that because last week,
for the first time since nineteen ninety, there was no
hip hop or rap in the billboard Top forty. None.
(30:12):
So mis Marquis came along. When you say he's just
a friend, he came along way back in the day
nineteen ninety with just a friend. It got in the charts,
and since then, thirty five flush years there has been
a hip hop or rap song in the top forty.
(30:32):
Last week there was none, none, none. Can you believe it?
Speaker 9 (30:37):
I know right.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
This week, Megan thee Stallion is back with lover Girl,
so they're back in the top forty. The hip hop
and rap scene not dead yet, but before all of
those things could happen, Before that dominant run of thirty
five years. There had to be a first, and there
was a first. Indeed, there was a first. Your One
(31:02):
Hit Wonder today is a group of three guys who
didn't know each other, who were assembled, if you will,
at a pizza shop by auditioning in the back of
a ladies car. Sounds weird, I know, went on to
create something that was massive, and it was only on
(31:27):
the charts for a little while and it never got
higher than number thirty six. Yet their release, which was
originally fourteen minutes long, sold millions worldwide and at one
point was selling fifty thousand albums a day. Think about that.
(31:52):
Led by the late Henry big Bank, Hank Jackson, Michael Wonder,
Mike Wright and Guy Master g O Brian, they brought
us a little rappers to light your one Hit Wonder
that started it all in the rap world and changed music.
A little rappers delight from the Sugarhill Gang. I said
(32:18):
it hit.
Speaker 9 (32:20):
Hit.
Speaker 10 (32:20):
How you don't stop the rocket to the band man,
bu say up jump the bigger to the rhythm, mother.
Speaker 2 (32:25):

Speaker 11 (32:26):
Now what you hear is not a test on the
Rappit to the be and me the groove and my
friends are gonna try to move your feet.
Speaker 12 (32:34):
You see.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
I am wonder Mike Can.

and yellow my person. I got a bad bang no
Bug to the say up jump the b to the
band name bids Rock.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
It was the first hip hop slash rapper single to
hit the charts, and it changed so much. Interestingly enough,
you hear good times in there from Chic Noile. Rogers
was going to sue, but they settled out of courts.
He got writing credits on this. One of the other
(33:11):
people that they stole, they readily admit they stole the
lyrics from was Grandmaster Kaz and he never sued and
never you know, I mean, there was a debate about it,
but he never sued at all. But this was the
first commercial massive hit when it came to rap music,
and it changed everything. The original song is fourteen minutes
(33:35):
long and they did it in one take.
Speaker 14 (33:38):
I always thought the letter B was percussive, and that's
why I used it a lot in my raps. A
Baby Bubba, Baby Bubba to the Bigger the Bang Bang
the Biggie to the beat, and I tried to turn
my vote, my voice into a vocal percussion.
Speaker 12 (33:54):
I still to this day can't really get a hold
of how much of it is impact that this music
has had on the world.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
No, most people can't. In fact, it opened doors for
the likes of Run dmcll cool Jaine, Public Enemy. The
track has been added to the Library of Congress National
Recording Registry for being culturally, historically and aesthetically significant its
influences everywhere from the office to many many movie soundtracks,
(34:26):
and just saying to the hip hop everybody knows exactly
what it's all about. They were young, seventeen twenty two,
they were stars, and all these years later people still
talk about it. But the fact is that was just
one thing they did.
Speaker 12 (34:47):
You don't live off the reality of that. You live
off the reality of what you do from one day
to the next. I always be known for that music,
that song, but at the end of the day, there's
still much more life to live, so you know, you got.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
To put things in perspective. Indeed, we talk about one
hit wonders. A lot of them come and go, some
of them have some staying power, but this one arguably
is the most influential one hit Wonder. We have done
your one hit wonder for today, Little rappers Delight from
the sugar Hill Gang. He had to do with just
a wi yobaha, sing it on and and knowing and
(35:19):
knowing and no, don't stup it to the three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show.
Is your ex your Insta, your YouTube, Facebook, and more?
If you have any suggestions for one hit Wonder Wednesday,
we'd love to hear from it. Let us know right
here on The Chad Benson Show. Coming up our number
(35:41):
two of the program. More on last night's blue wave.
How do the Republicans take what happened yesterday? Is it
with eh, it happened, we expected some of this or
is there a little bit more urgency in what they
need to do to address the concerns of America, Because
(36:03):
whether or not you think this was going to happen
or not, there's no doubt that the exit polls said
a lot. We're gonna talk about that. Got a bunch
of other stuff coming up as well, including when is
early too early for Christmas decorations? Let us know? Missing
show Grab the podcast hour number two, Straight Ahead, Chad
Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Messages sent last night and Democrats where you're celebrating, the
message was sent to you. And I'm not talking about
the average Democrat voter. I'm talking about the Democrats who
want to run this country. That message was sent to
(37:14):
you as much as the message was sent to the Republicans.
People are frustrated, they're pissed, they're angry. The word is affordability.
That's what it is. It's hard to get a read on.
You know, yes, some of it was. They're pissed and angry,
(37:35):
and they've got buyers, remorse, whatever you want to call it.
When it comes to Trump, welcome to any party that's
in power. You're going to have that because you had
a person who is very progressive, right when it comes
to Mundanudi winning in New York. On the other side,
you have Spamberger, who is very much an old school Democrat,
(37:58):
you know, former CIA. It wasn't like everywhere was the same, No,
it's different. It was different. But the message was sent
to the Republicans affordability. They're frustrated and angry about what's happening,
and they feel that the Republicans are not holding up
(38:19):
their piece of the bargain, especially when it comes to
Trump and the Democrats. People are pissed and angry at
you because the biggest message in New York was old
school out. We're over business as usual, We're done with you.
We don't believe in socialism, but we trust this guy
here more because we know it'll piss you off.
Speaker 9 (38:46):
What I know, right?
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Weird? Two messages sent one to each party. Will they listen?
I doubt it if you read the posters.
Speaker 15 (38:56):
And the shutdown was a big factor negative for the Republicans.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
And that was a big factor. And they say that
I wasn't on the ballot was the biggest factor. You
are on the ballot. You are on the ballot. You
could say you're not on the ballot. You are on
the ballot. There is no doubt. Number one thing you
can blame the Democrats. You can blame everything. It's the
same thing that happened to the Democrats. Besides immigration, was affordability. Affordability. Affordability, affordability,
(39:27):
look at the exit poles. Number one thing. Seventeen thousand
people were queried about why the vote why do you
vote the way it was? Exit poles were all the same,
frustrated and angry. Things are not affordable. Message is being sent.
(39:50):
That's what happened last night. Yes, there was a blue wave,
whatever you want to call it. The reality is it's
a way that I think is much more nuanced and
complicated because in areas like Virginia and New Jersey that
are blue or have been more blue, what did you see?
(40:14):
Little bit more of an old school Democrat in some ways,
but you saw younger Spamberger's forty six like Cheryl is
what fifty two fifty three messages? Old is out?
Speaker 9 (40:33):
New is in.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Republicans affordability. Both sides got sent a message. Now what
both sides listen? Hell no, I don't think one side
will listen. I mean the Democrats got their ass handed
to him last year. They're still trying to figure that
thing out. Gee, that's not hard. The Republicans you want,
And then you're wondering about last night, It's like, well,
(40:56):
it was the Democrat's fault. It was a shutdown. It
was this.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
It was that.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
It's a lot of things, but affordability. You cannot, in
any way, shape or form think that every election is
about the economy, stupid, except this one. No affordability. People
are looking at what's going on and they're saying, you
can sit here and talk about how wonderful the stock
(41:19):
market is. The average person doesn't have millions dollars in stocks.
You telling somebody who's forty two, your four oh one
k is killing it great. They're not tapping into the
four oh one k. And if they are, it's only
because they're desperate. About half the country, about five and
a half out of ten, have some form of stock
(41:42):
or mutual fund, either with their spouse or themselves that's
not tied to their four oh one k. We're not
talking a giant portfolio here. So you've got to say, okay, affordability,
what can we do to help with the affordability crisis?
And if you're the Republicans, you cannot ignore that. Do
not ignore that. Don't and I've been saying this to
(42:05):
anybody who will listen. Don't do what Biden did, which
is tell everybody it's awesome. Things are great. You're just
not getting it. Don't downplay their feelings and their reality
(42:27):
when they look in their checkbook. You can't do that.
And if you're the Democrats. The message is you're out
of touch with everybody else, you're old, you're slow, you
have no vision outside of the status quo, and there
is going to be changes. Will they listen, We'll see,
(42:49):
We will see. Do I think they're going to listen
in any way, shape or form. I don't think either
of them pay that much attention. They're very reactionary. Very
few people in politics are for word thinking, very few.
For the most part, it's all about reactions. Oh they
(43:09):
went this way, we'll copy that. We're not going to
try it first. We're not going to move in that direction.
M And when it comes to Mandannie who you know,
he has been thrust into the limelight. He's not back down.
He took a several chapters out of Trump's playbook when
it came to talking about affordability. He just changed some
(43:30):
of the words. Right, instead of blaming you know Biden, billionaires,
instead of blaming you know this or you know, free
trade or China, he blamed big corporations. He changed it.
But a lot of it's the same. Now what he
wants to do isn't going to work nationwide. It isn't.
(43:52):
And the funny thing is. When people were asked about
why are you voting for Madonnie, A lot of it
was he's different. I like some of his ideas. Do
you support socialism? Seven out of ten said no, I'm
a capitalist. So this was back in your face that
he's just different, and right now we need different in
(44:14):
New York is what they're saying. But does his brand
of politics work elsewhere? No, it could work in New York,
but him, but working in New York means you get
elected actually getting anything over the line that you want
to do, that's a different story. If he gets one
or two of these things, which is a possibility, maybe
free buses or some sort of co op mini grocery store.
(44:38):
Huh yeah maybe. But this thought that it's going to
become the Soviet Union overnight is ridiculous. And I love though,
you know, but that's a tail. You sell the fear,
You sell the fear, and that's what they're gonna do,
sell that fear. And I watched a lot of people
last night going it's over for New York. I'm like, Okay, Well,
in a year or two when we're sitting here and
going he got none of the stuff done that you
(45:00):
thought he was gonna do, and New York still standing. Well,
all the millionaires are and billionaires are going to leave.
They're not leaving. They're just moving their home address from
where they were to the other eight houses they have elsewhere.
They're not getting rid of their property, right. Trump still
has a house in New York or apartments or whatever.
(45:21):
He didn't leave New York forever and take everything with him. Now,
he just moved his address. And that's what they'll do.
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty
three Acts D Benson Show is Your Acts, your Insta
YouTube and more. We have a record now when it
comes to the government shutdown. Today is a record, and
(45:44):
the question continues to be when is it going to end?
Did last night push it closer to coming to some
sort of agreement that I don't know? Honestly. If you
go look at you all the betting places and the
(46:05):
polymarket and everything, it'll tell you, yeah, it's moving a
little bit closer here and there, maybe next week. But
I can't, you know, I can't be certain at this
point in time because I think there's still a portion
of me that thinks that they would like to see
this thing through potentially to Thanksgiving. Here's the issue, and
Republicans have to understand this. If this thing gets the
(46:28):
Thanksgiving and the only thing people see on Thanksgiving, or
empty airports because there's no TSA workers or air traffic control.
They've had to shut down portions of the skies because
there's enough air traffic control. People aren't seeing their families.
Who do you think they're going to hold responsible? Oh,
(46:52):
they can blame both, but at the ballot box is
the one you care about because from that will come
a true issue, which could be a real slowing down
of the economy, potentially into recession. Goldman Sachs has come
out today and said they expect the fourth quarter not
to be great. You start coupling all of those things
(47:17):
in with the fact that premiums are gonna shoot through
the roof. If you're the Republicans, I think last night
was more of a wake up call that you may
have to do something. And because of the suitep from
the Democrats, I think it gives them this kind of
feeling that, yeah, you know what, we need to dig
(47:37):
in hard. Let me know what you think. Three two, three, five, eight,
twenty four to twenty three At Chad Benson shows your

When we talk about Texas, seventeen amendments constitutional for them
in their state constitution, all passed, but two of them
are massive, and other states across the country are looking
(47:59):
at doing something similar to this. And guess what. The
wealthiest group in America is going to keep more of
their money and a vast majority of the young will
start to have to shoulder some of that tax burden.
That's not a helper. Talk about that among other things.

talk about what's going on Texas with this interesting tax situation,
we've also got when is early too early when it
comes to Christmas? Plus is having a boyfriend or a
significant other if he's male embarrassing? We shall discuss Chad
Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (49:49):
You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
California and their dear leader, Gavin Newsom.
Speaker 16 (49:55):
We need the state of Virginia, We need the state
of Maryland. We need our friends in New York and
Illinois and Colorado. We need to see other states. But
the remarkable leaders that have been doing remarkable things meet
this moment head on as well.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
That was his one of his victory speeches. The lapse
that he's taking to celebrate the prop fifty when and
again this goes to take on essentially Texas and what
Texas did, and Texas did a lot, and yesterday, by
the way, a ton of amendments went through, seventeen constitutional amendments,
all approved. But the big one is the homestead exemptions
(50:34):
and Proposition eleven Proposition thirteen. And why it matters is,
and I'm going to keep it as simple stupid as possible.
Older homeowners are going to get great breaks on their
property taxes. The younger homeowners and the people who want
to be homeowners are going to be the ones who
are going to pay the price. They're shifting the burden
from the wealthiest generation to the generations below them to
(50:59):
pick up the slack for several reasons. One, it's you know,
it's supposed to be for the elderly and disabled. Okay, well,
the elderly aren't elderly anymore the way that we used
to think of it. I mean, you remember, you could
even imagine getting to fifty when you're a kid and
let alone looking and thinking, oh my god, sixty five,
oh geez, you will you make it that long? Okay? Well,
(51:20):
we know now as we're healthier and living longer, I mean,
not as healthy as we should be. But this absolutely
puts a massive burden on a younger generation. It's not
just taxes that is looking to do things like this.
And the other thing is people who are older like, well,
why should I pay taxes for school? My kids are gone,
(51:40):
or we don't have kids, you know, in school anymore,
or we never even had kids and we just moved
out here. Why should I pay taxes for schools? And
why this is important is because as we sit here
and go we have a crisis in America when it
comes to dating, reproducing things of that nature. As we
have talked about. The more that you shift the burden
(52:01):
onto the young who aren't established, who aren't making money,
the harder it's going to be for them in the future,
and the more they're going to go, eh, it's just
too damn expensive. It is insane. But it won't easily
because who's going to come out and go, yeah, we
want to pay more taxes. Understand, the money's got to
come from somewhere. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four,
(52:22):
twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is Your X Your Insta,
your YouTube, Facebook, and more. It's going to come from
a younger tax base who isn't established while the older
sit back and love every second of what they have.
Let me know what you think. Love hearing from all
of you. I think this is a big deal. And
Florida's looking at several other states are looking at can
(52:43):
they do something like this again, shifting the burden to
a younger generation. How does that help? Let me know?
Right here on the Chad Benson Show, speaking of taxes,
Ran Paul is getting skewered because he's like, we better
do something about solid security or else we are screwed.
And he's like, maybe we need to move the age
to seventy.
Speaker 17 (53:00):
I'll tell you what I don't want is the money
to run out where everybody gets a twenty five percent
cut in twenty thirty four. If we do no reform,
when it runs out, we bring in about enough to
give everybody seventy five percent of what they're getting.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
That will be a disaster. And I've told people you
can fix it one of a couple of ways.
Speaker 17 (53:19):
If you want to have a twenty five percent payroll
tax compared to the fifteen percent payroll tax, you could
do that that's going to dig into everyone's paycheck. Or
you could gradtually raise the age of eligibility. This is
what we did in nineteen eighty three. We raised it
from sixty five to sixty seven. It's not that I'm
jumping up and down to do this. I don't like
(53:39):
old people. I aspire to be an old person. I
want it to be there for me. But the only
way it's going to be there is you're going to
have to let the age go up or dramatically raise
the taxes. I would rather not raise the taxes and
actually let the age go up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
And I'm also for means testing as a means I'm
fixing it. Another one of those situations where they're trying
to figure out how they can fix something without actually
having to do something that would get people mad at them,
meaning either raising taxes or raising the age. How can
we do neither of those and still fix something you
can't three two, three, four twenty three at Chat Benson

You need to listen. I do the work because I
want to be better. Tell the guys at work you
better start doing the damn work too, because you want
to be better. You cis hetero mail jerk.
Speaker 7 (55:08):
America does not care about poor people and never has.
Despite being one of the richest countries in the world,
many American families are struggling to put food on the
table each night. Some studies show that as many as
three to fifty percent of Americans are living paycheck to
paycheck or struggling to find food each day. With the
governments shut down on the stalling of snap benefits, this
is a parent now more than ever before. This is
not an economic issue, it is a moral one, and
(55:29):
so many Americans lack empathy.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
The enemy is not the.
Speaker 7 (55:32):
Poor person who was trying to put food in their
children's mouths. The enemy is the rich billionaire who was
getting millions and millions of dollars in tax cuts, or
the administration who was using taxpayer dollars to fund their
golf trips, or sending taxpayer dollars that could be used
to feed American citizens.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
To other countries like Israel.
Speaker 7 (55:48):
The entire system is corrupt, and the more people realize this,
the sooner that we are going to be able to
join together. The worst part is it's not just government
officials that are apathetic to regular people like you and
me that spend tens of thousands of dollars on their
pets instead of giving a single dollar to a homeless
shelter or to a food bank.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
And that is an attitude problem.
Speaker 7 (56:06):
So until we get on the same page about every
human being being worthy of food, nothing will change.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
Now everybody's worthy of food, I think we recognize that.
I want to remind her that we have a nutrition
issue problem here in this country, which is we're overweight,
including the poor, especially the poor, and not try to
be be I'm just putting that out there, Okay, okay,
(56:35):
just putting that out there. That being said, somew what
she said was true. You know, we have a lot
of apathy towards poor people. But I don't think it's
as easy as well, we just don't like poor people.
(56:58):
That's wrong. It's we're all self absorbed. I'm self absorbed.
What do I care about? I care about my family
and me. Everybody's world is their own and what goes
on in that world revolves around them. So yes, in
a way, the world does revolve around you and your
family and your life. That's your world. So I think
(57:22):
sometimes we get very shortsighted on all kinds of things.
I think the you know, and it's not just about
you know, healthcare and food stamps and whatever. We all
have our thing that we get sucked into. And yes,
we do spend money on our animals. I'm not gonna
lie to you. I spoil our dogs and cats. And
(57:44):
I used to spoil all of my lizards, but now
they're living elsewhere and you know, they're still get spoiled,
but they you know. It's that's what I but that
was kind of my jam. I didn't do anything else.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
So yeah, we do.
Speaker 18 (57:57):
I mean, we am not gonna lie to you. And
when you think of it, I was saying, man, you're
born an animal here and you're cute. You're probably living
a good life. Could you imagine being a French bulldog
owned by some thirty two year old influencer who isn't
(58:17):
dating and won't be dating anytime soon because men suck.
We'll get to that in a second. Yeah, you're probably
living a pretty good life. You probably have sweaters. You
get carried around. You don't even need legs.
Speaker 2 (58:27):
You get carried around. Oh lordy, lordy, lordy. Speaking of boys, So,
an interesting article came out in Vogue, British version of folk,
about having a boyfriend and how it's embarrassing.
Speaker 19 (58:49):
What Vogue just posted an article saying having a boyfriend
is embarrassing? I think for men, this is a wake
up call to the smart, independent woman, good salary, nice place.
We provide no benefit. We are no longer the priority.
In fact, we're probably a burden to them. We need
to realize having a girlfriend is a privilege, and our
(59:12):
duty is to raise them up and make them the
most successful version of themselves. I might mean doing the
laundry and picking up the dishes. It might mean working
harder to support them so they can go back to school.
It might mean just focusing on ourselves more to be
the best versions of ourselves to inspire them to want
to do the same. I think a healthy relationship involves
(59:33):
both people raising each other up to be the best
versions of themselves and doing whatever they can to support
that person to.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
Be able to do that.
Speaker 19 (59:43):
Right now, I don't think men are doing that. I
think men don't really provide a benefit. We need to
figure out how to provide that benefit so we are
no longer embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Okay, First, I'm going to point this out. You're a bitch. Secondly, okay,
this is a weird time. For the last I'm teen years,
we have talked about not only the male loneliness issue,
but the masculinity issue, but also the fact that somewhere
along the line, feminism went from we want to be
(01:00:16):
equal to you know what, we want to stomp on
you on the way up. And while men out there
were dicks for a long time, those men are retired
or dead. So younger generation gen Z you know, Alpha Millennials,
the gen xers, you know, and I count us as
(01:00:37):
a little bit younger comparatively to the you know, the
Great generation and or the boomer world. It's different, okay,
and the you know, I talked to my mom about
this a lot, she says, you know, because she was
they were in now national organization when my mother was
very much about equality, and she went to school and
(01:00:58):
she's got degrees and all this kind of stuff, and
she did it back in the day and she worked
in a male dominated field forever, and she never took
no for an answer. My dad was a hard nosed
pain in the ass, God rest the soul. That being said,
she said, you know, it went from wanting equality, wanting opportunity,
(01:01:21):
to somehow changing the game and pushing men down to
get there. And now we're at the point where women
are like, oh, boys, they're stupid and they suck and
they're the worst. At no point, could you if you
come out today and I'll say it, well, like all
of you are awesome, like all of you are amazing,
(01:01:42):
Like it's not one of you. Will you sit there
and go, hey, you've had fourteen boyfriends they all say
the same thing. It kind of feels like maybe there
is a common denominator here, but it's always their fault.
And so that's this article that comes out. Now here's
the interesting thing. The reaction action on the internet is,
you know, men suck. It's right, you shouldn't date men.
(01:02:04):
Men are horrible, They're embarrassing.
Speaker 20 (01:02:06):
It is embarrassing for most women to be in a
heterosexual relationship with most men because the only thing that
most men can offer most women is validation. That's why
Vogue had it right, because that is inherently incredibly embarrassing
and should make you want to peel your skin away
(01:02:27):
from your body. It's not embarrassing to have a husband
or to have a boyfriend. But there is a reason
that there is so much content available, hundreds to thousands
of videos with hundreds of thousands to millions of likes
and comments of women commiserating of what it's like to
be in a heterosexual relationship. And it's because the vast
majority of the experiences are negative. The gas lighting, the lying,
(01:02:48):
the cheating, the micro cheating, trying to teach the concept
of empathy to a grown man, the fifty to fifty
financial split, even though they do not split any of
the housecare, child's care, relationship care.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
The list goes on and on.
Speaker 20 (01:03:00):
Okay, the WEAPONI is and confidence, like I could go
on forever, and I'm not just firing shots. I'm speaking
from experience, from.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Very lived experience.
Speaker 20 (01:03:08):
When you realize that the most confident people do not
give a about being in a relationship, it's because they
understand this. If a relationship can't provide anything to you
besides validation that you're desirable in some capacity, that is embarrassing,
and most modern day men not all okay, but a
(01:03:29):
lot of them do not provide anything beyond that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Now, I'm gonna tell you this. Who says things like
this pretty mostly white educated women who are uber progressive.
The lady that wrote this is a brit and she's like,
it's kind of been taken out of context. A lot
(01:03:56):
of times women don't share that a boyfriends it's a
garrassing because they're friends. Don't like the fact that you
have a boyfriend, or what if things go sideways. I
don't want to be embarrassed if the relationship doesn't work. Yeah,
you know this whole thought process that men are essentially,
(01:04:18):
you know, knuckle draggers, helmet wears. I can't dress myself.
What's rod with me is absolute BS complimenting each other
is awesome. It should be fifty to fifty. It's never
gonna be fifty to fifty because one day your wife's
(01:04:39):
gonna be at twenty percent because she's struggling, and you
need to be at the eighty percent. And then one
day you're gonna be at twenty percent and she's gonna
need to be at eighty percent. It's not gonna be perfect.
But this world that men suck and she's that. Confident people, No,
beautiful people. Beautiful people don't give a rat's ass about
(01:05:04):
relationships because they have choices. Is really what you wanted
to say? You're confident? Now they have choices. Well, what
do you bring into the party. Well, let me ask
you this, darling, what do you bring into the party?
What are you bringing? This is what I hear all
the time.
Speaker 21 (01:05:24):
I want six foot one, it's gotta make at least
seven figures, has to have a six pack, own.
Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
At least two homes. And I'm like, and what are
you bringing? Just asking the question, because if I was
to say, well, let me tell you what I want.
If I'm in that situation where I'm six foot plus
making a million dollars a year, own any couple homes,
your ass better be banging, You better be absolutely smoking hot,
(01:06:08):
you better be bringing something.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
To it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
If you're demanding certain things, I want to know what
you're bringing. You can't say that that's sexist, No, that's reality.
There you go. You want all the success and the
money that comes with it. By the way, guys, don't
give a rats ass. We don't I want this, this
and this guys are like, what do you do? Oh?
I managed McDonald's. That's pretty cool. Want to hang out?
(01:06:36):
We don't care. But if you're going to demand it,
then there's demands here, right, Like what do you bring
to compliment me? I would like to be a stay
at home mom. Well, better get your ass in gear.
By the way, you better start doing pilates every single day.
You better start looking the part. I want to know
that all my friends want your ass. They can't have you, though,
(01:07:01):
But that's no, no, no. If you're going to demand,
shouldn't men be allowed to demand? Well they have for years.
Those were other people. It's not a competition. And the
quicker we learn that, the better it's going to be
four relationships and a younger generation. We have an issue
with men and masculinity in this country. There's no doubt
(01:07:22):
about that, because they're confused and they don't really know
what the hell is going on because they're told one
thing and if they act another way, they're hammered for it.
But if they don't act a certain way or bring
a certain thing, it's not enough and they're frustrated. Here's
something else, ladies that you guys, if you really think
(01:07:44):
that men suck and they're embarrassing those robots. Who do
you think is building those robots? Those would be men?
And who do you think are going to design the
robots first? For what it is that they want? What
is it they want? They want a chick that's beautiful,
and at any given time you can turn them off.
(01:08:07):

This is the Chad Benson Show. A hashtag me too,
(01:10:02):
hashtag immigration reforms, hashtag help.
Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
I'm trapped in a hashtag factory and I can't get out.
The chat Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Terror in the skies just outside of Louisville. And what's
crazy is is it Louisville or Louisville. You know what
I'm talking about, Kentucky. It was horrible watching the plane
take off and then crash. And we live at a
time now where cameras are everywhere, and it's not just
the old school CCTV, the closed circuit television. No, everybody's
(01:10:35):
got a camera. Dashboards have a camera. Guy's roding motorcycles
have a camera. You've got a phone, which means you've
got a camera. And we got to see it.
Speaker 6 (01:10:43):
A UPS cargo plane crashed near Louisville International Airport. Seven
people confirmed dead overnight, but officials warn that number could rise.
Several others were injured on the ground. The crash badly
damaging a fuel storage and autoparts business. The jet was
loaded with two hundred and fifty pounds of fuel heading
to Honolulu, with three crew members on board was to
(01:11:05):
say the thirty four year old plane on its third
flight of the day experienced an engine problem during takeoff.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Just watching it because again we get to see it now,
and there were several different angles of which you've got
to see this thing start to take off. It's a
big cargo plane, and you could tell the engines on fire,
and the minute they get up, it goes sideways literally
and you could see that. Why because there's a guy
(01:11:33):
sitting in his truck, like an eighteen wheeler with a
dash cam and he's like eating lunch or some and
you see this thing just come in sideways wing and
it just explodes, and you're like, wow, how many people
are still missing? I mean, I get this is one
of those things where the numbers will probably change. I've
(01:11:53):
heard sixteen plus people still missing, nine right now dead,
but maybe again on the ground on nobody knows. It's
just a horrible thing, but it's also bizarre to watch
it in real time. Quite frankly, it's a little little
uneasy watching it. Three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty
four to twenty three at Chad Benson shows your acts,
(01:12:13):
your Insta, YouTube and more radio and the Chad Benson
Show coming up, hour number three of the program, more
on the government shutdown, which is in full of fact.
We have set a record the blame game. The Republicans
are blaming each other right for last night's Trump. No,
(01:12:37):
it's it's it's bad candidates. No, it's the government shutdown
because of the Democrats. That being said, while they're blaming
each other, the Democrats are celebrating. You don't have a
lot to celebrate. Your biggest win came from a guy
who absolutely can't stand the status quo that is a
Democrat party. We'll talk about that, among other things. Commissing
(01:12:58):
the show. Grab the podcast hour number three, The Chad
Benson Shows, Good Head.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
Messages sent, Messages delivered. You're listening to the overreaction election
crap on the Chad Benson Show. That's right, Messages sent,
messages de delivered. Republicans blame games on whose fault is it?
Whose fault isn't it? Trump doing everything he can to
(01:13:55):
try to sway the Republicans from destroying the future by
getting rid of the filibuster. This morning at a breakfast
with the Senators, I think it's very important. We have
to get the country open, and the way we're going
to do it.
Speaker 15 (01:14:12):
This afternoon is to terminate the filibus, and as possible,
you're not going to do that, and I'm going to
go by your wishes. You're very smart people, we're good friends.
But I think it's a tremendous mistake. Really, it would
be a tragic mistake.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Actually, it's time. It's time. If I thought they weren't
going to approve, i'd sort of be with you. I'd
be fine, I'd be neutral to with you.
Speaker 15 (01:14:35):
But knowing that they're going to pass it, as soon
as they get any semblance of control, they'll pass the
first thing. Then it's like, we have to do it first,
and we have two years, and we'll end up with
two three years, and we'll have this country so perfect.
Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
We will have passed more legislation.
Speaker 15 (01:14:52):
Than any Congress and any group of senators or a
group of congressmen, and we will get it through. They'll
send it to us, we'll send it to them. It'll
be a beautiful machine. Otherwise we're just going to sit
around and argue with these people all day long. And
they're highly unrealistic, highly unrealistic. Many of them are radical
(01:15:14):
left subversives. Rightly, there's a message for you. The government's
closed do the nuclear option, and if we don't, they will.
Well they've hinted around of that, but remember there were
Democrats that said no. Republicans so far have shown they've got.
Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
Some kiun A's. Last night, mister Kennedy, the funny man
from Louisiana called me. I explained to him.
Speaker 9 (01:15:43):
I said, mister President, the job of a senator is
not just to advance good ideas. The job of a
senator is also to kill bad ideas.
Speaker 22 (01:15:55):
And how do you take care of response? Well, I
like you would expect he'd happy. He well, he didn't.
He wasn't unhappy. I mean, the President didn't yell or anything.
Of course, there's alway. He's never yelled at me. There's
always the first time, you know. But he doesn't agree
(01:16:16):
with me, and sometimes the reasonable people disagree. But my
personal opinion, I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
We're not going to change the filibuster.
Speaker 9 (01:16:32):
Or the blue slip while we're in charge during year
or my natural lifetime.
Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
So that ultimately means there has to be some sort
of bipartisan deal to reopen the government.
Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Has to be and last night one of the messages
sent is people are pissed their unhappy affordability. They feel
like Trump and the Republicans have let them down and
probably have given a kick in the a kick in
the grundled them and maybe some you know, confidence to
the Democrats. We're going to get to you in a second. Democrats,
(01:17:08):
so the philibuster, though you cannot do it, let me
tell you what happens when you get rid of the philibuster. Okay,
first of all, Trump wants to do it because his
belief and reality is I'm not going to be doing
this for but for a couple of years. I want
to get everything that possibly through I possibly can. So
(01:17:29):
if we blow up the philibuster, what do I care
because I'm out of here. Well, that nightmare is going
to leave a nightmare for everybody else behind. You can't
do this, trust me. The Democrats want him to so
bad because they recognize, first of all, everything that happens
(01:17:53):
is going to be on the Republicans.
Speaker 23 (01:17:55):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
So the beauty of being in the minority, and that's
a situation is it doesn't matter. I can't do anything.
They've got the majority, and all they need is they
don't need any of us to get everything over the line.
So I'm in the perfect place. I've talked to so
many politicians who quote unquote off the record would tell
me the best thing in DC as being in the
(01:18:19):
minority power with no real power, fighting for whatever it
is that everybody wants you to fight for, knowing full
well nothing is going to happen because you have no responsibility.
That lies on the people who are in charge. So
(01:18:40):
the Democrats are urging they would love to see the
Republicans do this. But if they did do this, what
do you think is going to happen. Well, eventually Democrats
are going to come into power. They're going to expand
the court immediately. Then they're going to make Puerto Rico
and DC states, giving them four more senators, and all
(01:19:03):
of a sudden, what you thought was going to be
a great idea, and it may have been for your term,
will become a nightmare for everybody else left behind. Yes,
people are pissed about what's going on in America and
the shutdown, and you got blamed for it, and you're
starting to feel it more and more, and you can
(01:19:23):
tell now that the Republicans feel like that weight is
kind of shifted to one side when it comes to
you know, we've talked about that balance. Right once it
gets to one side, it starts to start to go down.
Oh oh, we may have to get back in there
and do something. I think they're feeling that right now,
where the Democrats are like, yeah, we want we kicked
(01:19:43):
you butt it, but hold on a second. We'll get
you in a second.
Speaker 24 (01:19:46):
In several areas that President and Trump carried or made
it close just a year ago, the winds have shifted,
with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikey Cheryl winning in the northern
and southern New Jersey suburbs and Abigail Spenberger strongly outperforming
Kamala Harris northern Virginia. Exit polls in both states showed
voters greatly concerned about the economy and giving President Trump
poor marks for his job performance. Congressional Republicans may see
(01:20:09):
these results as a warning sign out of next year's
midterm elections.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Which is a possibility, no doubt. That. Being said, Democrats,
why you're jumping around celebrating all of this, what's going
on while we're in the middle of a government shutdown?
What are they fighting over? Affordable Care Act? Who came
up with that? That was you guys who got the
biggest win last night. People would say Mandani, what is he?
He's the exact opposite of everything that crony capitalistic Democrats are.
(01:20:40):
He's fresh blood. He can't stand the status quo and
the leadership of the Democrat Party. He wants no part
of what it is they're offering him. Doesn't mean it's
going to come to fruition. And quite frankly, I continue
to say this, I don't know why the Republicans are
fighting this. Why not see what this looks like in
real life and put it into play with his socialistic ideas,
of which he's going to get very you by. He
(01:21:02):
may get some things here and there, but they're not
going to be big, huge unless something crazy happens. So
Democrats keep thinking, well, we won last night. No Trump
and the Republicans paid the price for several reason one
affordability number one thing. Two you're the party in power.
(01:21:26):
There's always a bit of a backlash against the party
in power. But you didn't win so much as it was.
We're not happy with what's going on right now with Trump.
That's it once again. Trump is the reason you win
or lose. It's not you. And that was made evident
last night when it came to Mundani. He's one of
(01:21:48):
the few where you're out there and he goes, hmm,
you know, look at this, I'm better than all these people.
Why because you know they're old, they're antiquated, they're out
of touch. Look at me with Spamberger, right, she's forty six.
Oh she's young. Right, You go and look at her
(01:22:13):
in Virginia, and then you go look at New Jersey
and it's the same thing. What do you have, Mikey Cheryl,
she's fifty three, young, different, feeling like they're more in touch.
And this is the interesting thing, the young thing and
reaching people in a different way. Your horse and carriage Democrats,
(01:22:36):
and you still have no idea how to reach and
grab the attention of men, and you're still discombobulated. If
it wasn't for Trump, you would still be flailing right now.
This was more of a yeah, I'm not happy with
what's going on in the White House, and the affordability
crisis is huge, and even when things are going well,
(01:22:57):
We've always known this, even when things are going pretty
damn good. We have a tendency to want to check
the party in power. It's always been that way, it
will always be that way. Three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three At Chad Benson Show is
Your X, your Insta, your YouTube and more. Last hour
(01:23:22):
we talked about what's going on in Texas and why
it's important, and several of you have chimed in on
that and the importance of there's seventeen amendments last night
they got through not a shocker, but the two big
ones eleven and thirteen for Prop eleven Prop thirteen about
the Homestead Act and seeing people that are homeowners who
(01:23:45):
are over sixty five yes, and people with disability but
grouped into this this thing where you're going to see
the boomers once again reduce their tax rate when it
comes to property taxes, and that will shift to a
younger generation. And that is going to happen because nobody
(01:24:07):
wants to say it's great to raise tax It's like
everybody wants no taxes, but then everybody wants services, so
it's that weird thing. And for the young this is
another situation where they're looking going all right, sixty five
(01:24:28):
is once again screwed us over. They already owned the house.
Now they're going to pay less than taxes. And their
argument is, well, we're older, our kids have already gone
to school. So again I'm keeping it simple. Stupid. The frustration,
though I'm hearing from you guys out there, is very
real as people are trying to buy their first home,
(01:24:50):
started family, and it's getting even more expensive because the
tax burden is getting greater for them. Three two, three, five, eight,
twenty four to twenty three. Atch, i'd Benson shows your
ex your Insta YouTube. Ask Chapter, what is Chapter? So
you like your Medicare plan?
Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
I like it?
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
Then what happens? It goes away?
Speaker 23 (01:25:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 19 (01:25:08):
What do you do?
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
Well? You go when you call a Medicare agent, what
do they do? They put you in something, they recommend WHOA,
they make a lot of commissions. Hmmm, that's not good
for you. That's why I want you to talk to Chapter.
They don't work for the government, they don't work for
big insurance companies. They work for you. It's absolutely free,
which is incredible. They'll get you all of your options
(01:25:30):
for your Medicare plan in under twenty minutes. And they
compare Medicare plans nationwide. On average, seniors who work with
Chapter they save eleven hundred dollars a year, which right
now I think a lot of people would be thrilled with.
So here's the other thing. If you still like your plan,
but you're curious about this and your plan's not going anywhere,
(01:25:51):
guess what they'll tell you if it's the right plan
for you. There's no gimmicks, no pressure, it's just honest
advice from the experts who know Medicare inside and out.
They're called Chapter Dial pound two fifty. Say keyword Medicare plan.
Medicare is too important, don't risk it. Work with the
partner I trust. That's Chapter dial pound two fifty and
say keyword Medicare plan four. Chapter coming up, Little watch
(01:26:12):
Trending straight ad plus Supreme Court hearing a big case today.
Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Chad Benson, Joe, you're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
Now it's time to find out what's trending. What's trending
James Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, ser what truping side
(01:26:59):
I was ending on the interwebs on this Wednesday, day
after election Day? Where should we start Yahoo. I'm gonna
let you guys know, chances are a lot of election
stuff here, which is number one training thing in Yahoo
Election results, US government shutdown. Erica Kirk says she does
(01:27:21):
not want an apology from Jimmy Kimmel, NFL trades, New
Jersey govnor race FBI, get your act together, all right,
or go to Valhalla. They fired some some people who
(01:27:42):
investigated Trump. They fired them, then they unfired them, and
then they fired them again. Yeah, this is kind of
a joke. I'm gonna say that you're not being very
nice now, I'm just being honest. Murder hornets, murder horns,
swarm of them killed and father and son who were ziplining.
(01:28:08):
Horrible story, horrible story. Over to X New York Elections,
Virginia prop fifty Fan Jones. You got to see where
I'm going with this? Are you saying? It's a lot
of yes, Rett Cooper, Jay Jones winning his age race,
(01:28:33):
also trending. Finally over to Google, let's find some stuff
that's not Dick Cheney, that's not election results. Plane crash
obviously huge, horrible and the videos are everywhere. Sauce Gardner.
He was traded three two three five three, twenty four,
twenty three, Act had been to Joe as your ex
(01:28:54):
your insta, YouTube, Facebook, and all the other things that
are available to us there. If you missed any show,
shame on you grab that podcast right here in the
Chad Benson Show. Brendan Fraser trending because Rachel Weiss or
Weiss and him look like they're going to do another
(01:29:16):
Mummy movie, which kind of cool. Sure what I'm saying there.
Scotus is also trending in some areas. And the reason
today is the day what that's right? Today is the
day that Scotus hears Trump's tariff argument. And I will
(01:29:36):
tell you, and I talked about it last night with
Jim we did our little election special Jim Kennedy Kennedy
Institute of Public Policy Research that this is arguably the
biggest case that SCOTUS has had in years.
Speaker 5 (01:29:49):
Legal experts say the stakes and the Trump Tariff's case
at the Supreme Court are staggering. If the tariffs are invalidated,
the government could ow tens of billions of dollars in
refunds businesses, and the President could lose a key bargaining
chip in foreign negotiations. Trump argues emergency tariff power is
critical to the US economy, while challengers say he has
(01:30:10):
exceeded his authority under federal law and the constitution decision
is expected early next year.
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
But why this is also important is it's testing the
limit of Trump's power and every president's power. And that's
why a lot of people are going to be listening
and looking and dissecting over the next twenty four hours
what they heard, what they didn't hear, what they thought
they heard. It's this is very interesting. Three two, three, five,
(01:30:37):
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson
Show is your extra insta coming up. A lot of
stuff still to talk about more for last night's election,
as well as one hit wonder Wednesday, we will do
that and so much more. This is the Chad Benson Show, Fun,
(01:30:59):
Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (01:31:19):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:31:23):
It is Wednesday, and I'm telling you guys, we're continuing
to do the work. It is white Woman Wednesday. This
is when white progressive Kylie educates the listeners of the
Chad Benson Show. We put in the work to become
better people, especially as cis hetero males, unless, of course,
you're not a hetero male, known heteronormative. What is it, patriot?
(01:31:45):
I don't know. Let's just do the work, okay.
Speaker 7 (01:31:49):
Blaming women for the suffering week experience under patriarchy is
so ubiquitous that you probably don't even realize you're doing it.
So here are three examples of when you may unintentionally
be victim shaming or blaming. Number one, in cases of
domestic violence, your first question is why didn't she just leave?
Your first question should always be why did he abuse
this woman? Because in most cases, women have no choice
(01:32:10):
but to stay with their abusers until they can formulate
a safe plan of escape, And in fact, the most
dangerous time is when women leave. They are more likely
to be at that point than at any other time.
Number two, why were you hanging out with him? Even
in cases where perpetrators have a reputation for being creepy,
they are still very very clever. Predators are predators for
a reason. They know how to successfully lure women in
(01:32:31):
and make them feel safe. In no case is it
the woman's fault ever period. And number three, blaming women
for having bad experiences with men in the media. Again,
a lot of these people use predatory and deceptive tactics
to lure women onto sets, whether it's for a movie set, photography,
or red Pill podcast. These men are very good at
what they do. Stop blaming the victim and start blaming
(01:32:52):
the perpetrators.
Speaker 2 (01:32:53):
Nah, I got it there the podcast. She was on
a podcast a couple weeks ago, and I keep trying
to get her on my show. She was on a
podcast a couple of weeks ago. Is one of those
ones where dude's and he's got the beard, and he's
got four or five women around, and it's always talking
about relationships and how much men suck, and you know,
it's just ridiculousness. And I think she kind of got
served on there. She got pissed and she I think
(01:33:14):
she cried and she walked off. So I see this, see,
I see. So it's the men's fault. It's always the
men's Well, last hour, we were told how embarrassing we
are and to be even seen with us could be embarrassing,
which is awful. Speaking of awful, Paige sporadic, nice good golfer,
(01:33:36):
But wait, it's her looks. What are people saying about her?
What something's happened? If you guys know pages, then you know,
and if you don't know, you need to know.
Speaker 25 (01:33:46):
Paige Sporadic wipe's tears from her eyes in this emotional
video she just posted.
Speaker 2 (01:33:51):
I don't normally do this, but this hate for some
reason just been really hitting home for me.
Speaker 25 (01:33:58):
The sexy thirty two year old and social media sensation
says she's being attacked after appearing at this Barstool Sports
golf tournament taking place in Missouri. All Page cares about
is how revealing her outfit is. She's not even attractive,
goes one nasty dig You're a pitiful example of a
(01:34:19):
woman and an athlete, says another.
Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
Now are some of them men? Yes? I went on
there and I don't like what are you talking about?
First of all, settle down, bro. Secondly, a lot of
them are women who absolutely destroy Page. And yes, is
she a good golfer? She's a damn good golfer.
Speaker 21 (01:34:40):
She is.
Speaker 2 (01:34:41):
She's a golfing influence. Is she smoking hot? She is
smoking hot. Does she use that sex appeal to grow
her audience? She does. But the hate that people have
online is tremendous and jealousy ooh jealous.
Speaker 25 (01:35:00):
Paige has made a national name for herself for her
provocative poses.
Speaker 20 (01:35:04):
Hey everyone, I'm Page Frannick, and I'm with the Super
Bowl cheerleaders Today.
Speaker 25 (01:35:09):
Page also served as Inside Edition's twenty twenty three special
Super Bowl correspondence Oh look at that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:19):
Oh my gosh, oh far she makes it look so easy.
Speaker 25 (01:35:23):
In her heartfelt remarks posted today to her seven million followers,
page reveals that despite all that she has going for
her fame, wealth and great looks, really fitting in has
always been a challenge.
Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
I struggle socially my entire life.
Speaker 7 (01:35:39):
I struggle in big groups of people, making friends, keeping friends,
relating to other people, reading social cues, saying the right
thing at the right time.
Speaker 25 (01:35:46):
Hopefully, after pouring her heart out to the world, Page.
Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
Will be back on the upswing. God, don't be dicks,
she's smoking on. Let it go, you idiots. Why do
people have to hate? I mean, I get hate all
the time, which I don't care about, because I mean,
what's the great saying from Rick and Morty? Your booze
(01:36:11):
mean nothing. I see what you people cheer for. That's
the way you got to look at this. Your booze
me nothing. I see what you people cheer for. Speaking
of cheer, Christmas, cheer and the likes when is early
too early to celebrate Christmas?
Speaker 26 (01:36:28):
Is it way too early to deck the halls? Christy
Hemrick and her husband David don't think so. Their home
on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is beginning to
look a lot like Christmas. You guys are already set
up for Christmas. What the heck happened?
Speaker 23 (01:36:42):
Well, we gave out eighteen hundred pounds of candy, and
so once we gave it that last piece of candy,
we were like, let's change it.
Speaker 1 (01:36:48):
Yeah, and that's what we do.
Speaker 26 (01:36:49):
So literally, on November one, what were you guys doing?
Speaker 2 (01:36:53):
Six thirty am? We were out here taking down the
Halloween and putting up Christmas.
Speaker 26 (01:36:57):
And they're not alone. Lots of homeowners are across the
USA have torn down their Halloween decorations and started filling
their homes with Christmas holiday cheer.
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Yes, And I do think COVID played a big role
in earlier and earlier in some ways because I think that,
especially during that first year of COVID, I remember so
many people, and including Martha at Ktar in Phoenix. She's
like a week before Halloween. I think she had all
(01:37:29):
the Christmas stuff and she was ready because all of
what had been going on, and like, are we heading
to some normal way of life and the cheer, let's
just get into Christmas. This year's some normal feel of it.
So I think that had a big role in it.
But I also think Christmas comes early in because we
love ourselves a little Christmas. But is it too soon?
Speaker 26 (01:37:50):
That's the big debate gathering steam coast to coast. Decorate
for Christmas right after Halloween or followed tradition and wait
until after thanks It's kind of split down the middle.
Forty two percent of Americans are saying, bah humbug, it's
way too early. Forty six percent say it's the right time.
Speaker 2 (01:38:10):
Forty six We're winning. Forty six to forty two. That's
a win. Baby.
Speaker 26 (01:38:17):
The Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey, disagrees. She just
dropped her annual Christmas countdown. Streams of our holiday classic
All I Want for Christmas Is You are up five
hundred percent. Streams of other holiday songs, including Whim's Last
Christmas and Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande are up
(01:38:39):
two hundred and fifty percent on Spotify.
Speaker 1 (01:38:42):
It's a terrible if you're read.
Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
What do you say?
Speaker 26 (01:38:46):
To the critics out there who are like, guys, we
haven't even had Thanksgiving yet.
Speaker 23 (01:38:51):
Our neighbors enjoy it and it's just something happy, so
why not bring a little happiness Merry.
Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
Christmas yep, in November.
Speaker 25 (01:39:00):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:00):
And you know, one of the things I was talking
about Buddy Kenny yesterday, I said, as you get older
and you have kids, especially when they're younger, you remember
what it was like, the excitement, the anticipation. You're trying
to relive a bit of that through your kids in
a way that you know you have obviously a different
viewpoint of it. And I love that. And Charlie's already excited.
(01:39:21):
And Santa text my phone every day, which is really cool,
to ask me about Charlie, see how she's doing. And
he sends this, you know, a text message every third
day has a picture of a reindeer or like just
a glimpse of an elf, and it is It's awesome
(01:39:42):
and I love it. I'm in the spirit, baby, You
know how I do? You know how I do? Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four, twenty three at shed Ben's's show, is your
ex your instant, your YouTube, Facebook and more? We've done
enough serious stuff throughout that I thought, you know what,
we could slow it down a little bit, have a
little bit of fun, all right, kids, coming up One
Hit Wonder Wednesday. I will tell you this right now.
For all of the one hit Wonders I've done in
(01:40:04):
the past and the one hit Wonders I will do
in the future, this one arguably has had the biggest
impact on music. We'll do that straight ahead. But first,
Birch Gold all this month right, still going on. When
you buy gold from Birch you can get free silver
all right. For every five thousand dollars purchase from Birch
(01:40:25):
Gold Group this month, you'll receive a free patriotic silver
commemorative round commemorating the Gadsden and American flags, which is awesome.

Burch Gold is waving custodial fees for the first year
of investments of any amount for those who qualify. They've
got an A plus rating with a Better Business Bureau

thing is getting the information. How do you do that?

We'll wrap it up a little one hit wonder Wednesday
straight ahead Chad Benson show.
Speaker 1 (01:41:35):
Running with Scissors sounds great compared to this, say.
Speaker 2 (01:41:41):
As we wrap up this show on this Wednesday, it's
time to have a little one hit wonder fun And normally,
you know, we do one hit wonders. A lot of
them are songs that come and go. They're from artists
that you're like, what happened to those guys or gals
and the song you may recognize, maybe not so much
of the artist, but today artist and song is arguably
(01:42:03):
the most influential one hit wonder in the history of
one hit wonders. Three guys in New Jersey who auditioned
in the back of a car made history. Let's get
to it. It is One Hit Wonder Wednesday. Now it's
time for another edition of One Hit Wonder Wednesday. You
(01:42:34):
may not remember the name of the band, but you
definitely know the song. This Bruiser, This is one Hit
Wonder Wednesday. All right, One Hit Wonder Wednesday. Man, there
(01:43:02):
is so much about this because it was the first.
It was the first. And I say that because last week,
for the first time since nineteen ninety, there was no
hip hop or rap in the billboard Top forty none.
(01:43:28):
So mis Marquis came along. When you say he's just
a friend, he came along way back in the day
nineteen ninety with just a friend. It got in the charts,
and since then, thirty five flush years there has been
a hip hop or rap song in the top forty.
(01:43:49):
Last week there was none, none, none. Can you believe it?
I know right this week, make the Stallion is back
with lover Girl, So they're back in the top forty.
The hip hop and rap scene not dead yet, but
before all of those things could happen, before that dominant
(01:44:10):
run of thirty five years there had to be a first,
and there was a first. Oh, indeed, there was a first.
Your One Hit Wonder today is a group of three
guys who didn't know each other, who were assembled, if
you will, at a pizza shop by auditioning in the
(01:44:33):
back of a ladies car. Sounds weird, I know, went
on to create something that was massive, and it was
only on the charts for a little while, and it
never got higher than number thirty six. Yet their release,
(01:44:54):
which was originally fourteen minutes long, sold millions worldwide and
at one point was selling fifty thousand albums a day.
Think about that. Led by the late Henry big Bank,
Hank Jackson, Michael Wonder, Mike Wright, and Guy Master G O'Brien,
(01:45:18):
they brought us a little rappers delight, Your one Hit
Wonder that started it all in the rap world and
changed music. A little rapper's Delight from the Sugarhill Gang.
I said, a hill h.
Speaker 10 (01:45:38):
Hovey, you don't stop the rocket to the band man,
we can say up jump the bringer to the rhythm
ofther bringer to be Now, what you hear.
Speaker 2 (01:45:45):
Is not a test.
Speaker 11 (01:45:45):
I'm rappit to the bea and me the groove and
the friends are gonna try to move your feet.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
You see, I am wonder Mike Can. I like to
say hello, up to the rock, to the right the
rib and the mouth of the ribble, and I got
a bang bang. It was the first hip hop slash
rapper single to hit the charts, and it changed so much.
(01:46:17):
Interestingly enough, you hear good times in there from chic Noile.
Rogers was going to sue, but they settled out of court.
He got writing credits on this. One of the other
people that they stole, they readily admit they stole the
lyrics from was Grandmaster Kazuh and he never sued and
(01:46:38):
never you know, I mean, there was a debate about it,
but he never sued at all. But this was the
first commercial, massive hit when it came to rap music,
and it changed everything. The original song is fourteen minutes
long and they did it in one take.
Speaker 14 (01:46:56):
I always thought the letter B was percussive, and that's
I used it a lot in my raps. A baby Bubba,
baby Bubba to the Bigion to bang bang the buigiea
to the beat, and I tried.
Speaker 2 (01:47:07):
To turn my voice into a vocal percussion.
Speaker 12 (01:47:12):
I still to this day can't really get a hold
of how much of an impact that this music has
had on the world.
Speaker 2 (01:47:20):
No, most people can't. In fact, it opened doors for
the likes of Run dmcll cool, Chaine Public Enemy. The
track has been added to the Library of Congress National
Recording Registry for being culturally, historically and aesthetically significant its
influences everywhere from the office to many many movie soundtracks,
(01:47:43):
and just saying to the hip hop everybody knows exactly
what it's all about. They were young, seventeen twenty two,
they were stars, and all these years later people still
talk about it. But the fact is that was just
one thing they did.
Speaker 12 (01:48:04):
You don't live off the reality of that. You live
off the reality of what you do from one day
to the next. I always be known for that music,
that song, but at the end of the day, there's
still much more life to live, so you know, you
got to put things in perspective.
Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
Indeed, we talk about one hit wonders. A lot of
them come and go, some of them have some staying power,
but this one arguably is the most influential one hit wonder.
We have done your one hit wonder for today. Little
rappers delight from the sugar Hill Gang.
Speaker 24 (01:48:33):
He hit a dude with just a yo beha sing
it on and and knowing and knowing and knowing stupid.
Speaker 12 (01:48:38):
Don't stump it to.
Speaker 2 (01:48:39):
The three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty
three at Chad Benson Show. Is your ex, your Insta,
your YouTube, Facebook and more. If you have any suggestions
for one hit wonder Wednesday, we'd love to hear from it.
Let us know right here on The Chad Benson Show. Now,
that was a hell of a show and a great
(01:48:59):
way to end it. Definitely what a day too, chaos, craziness, wackiness.
We've got reactions from last night and the blue wave
ish right, but also government shutdown continuing. You got a
record now, so there's that. I don't know if that's
something to be proud of. But then you got to
(01:49:20):
think about the other stuff going on, including Scotus. Well
we're gonna have more of that tomorrow and obviously Trump
the powers when it comes to tariffs and presidential powers itself.
So very interesting. You guys do your thing and have
a great Wednesday. We will do it again tomorrow as always,
Night Night Jack.
Speaker 1 (01:49:41):
This is the Chad Benson Show.
