Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chat Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I guess checked. We're still shut down. You know what
that means. Now it's time for ninety seconds of government
shutdown talk.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
So all you get this is a tsunami of Donald
Trump's creation. The pain, the hurt, the fear that's going
to rise amongst millions of Americans who are going to
lose health insurance. Dear God, just come to the table
and do something to help Americans.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
The Democrats are causing the loss of a lot of
jobs with there.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's a shutdown.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
It's their shutdown, not our shutdown.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It's their shutdown.

Speaker 5 (00:45):
Unfortunately, and tragically, this president has indicated that he will
inflict maximum pain on the country as well as federal workers.
But this kind of boeing cannot be allowed.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
I think, hope and pray that it ends in about
a week. I don't think this can go much longer
because you think of all the people who are being
harmed by this. It begins with women, infants, and children.
Their nutrition programs are being stopped, and veterans health services
and all the rest. I think these Democrats in the
center are going to fuel the outcry, and I think
they're going to fold and do the right thing, and
we'll get the lights back on and get back to

(01:20):
work for the people.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
There you go your thought, I don't know, do it,
don't do it. At this point in time, this is
nothing to do with you or I. This has nothing
to do with the people. This has all to do
with them fighting over whatever it is they feel they
need to fight over. But it never has anything to
do with us. And it's very frustrating because we need

(01:44):
people that are willing to fight for the American people.
I don't think this is the crew that does it.
There was ninety seconds right there. Don't go any further
because no, you don't have to. Meanwhile, we move from
there really quick to the Middle East, big doings, big opportunities.

(02:06):
This is the chance to fix this permanently. Ish Again,
I weigh the permanently ish because I never know what
exactly is going to come out of all of this.
You've got BB so that Trump and him were kind
of getting into it over the weekend where he basically
Trump basically, you're never blinking happy. You're always so negative. Dude,

(02:28):
I give you everything, You're always so negative. It's never
good enough. Bib is the guy you've ever seen those
like you know Sweet sixteen where they get her a tesla,
but she wanted a Ferrari and she's pissed because she
got a brand new tesla. That's what Bbe feels like.
You got everything you wanted, but I didn't get everything

(02:48):
I wanted. Wanted, but could we see peace in the east.

Speaker 7 (02:52):
This is I think the last best chance of a
ceasefire and a potential long term piece. If this falls,
part that we're going down the wrong route, which will
be a continuation of this horrible war.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
And that is a possibility, and the devil it's truly
in the details. I mean, you've got kind of a
split right when it comes to how parts of Hama
see this. But I think for the most part, a

(03:29):
vast majority of them want this done as well. Their
people are starving, they're done, and they know they're done.
So it's time to move on. Is it enough for Israel?
I mean, there's so much that goes into this. It's
not a simple thing. It's never been a simple thing,

(03:51):
and it never will be a simple situation. When it
comes to the battle that goes on not just between
the factions of the IDF and Amas, but also inside
of those factions, just like we have in our politics,
the battle of no we should do this, or no
we should do that, or I don't want to do this,

(04:11):
I think we should go this direction. You have the
same situation going on when it comes to even Hamas,
because you've got other groups that feel like, no, we
should never give in to them, and you've got other
groups and a vast majority of groups of inside of
US people who they're done, they're exhausted, their asses are kicked,

(04:35):
they have nothing left, they don't want to govern anymore.
That it's over, and they recognize that, and then you've
got the same kind of pull, like I said, over
there in Israel where the Liquod Party, you may have
others inside of their who artists thrilled about Trump and
what he wants to do right now and where he

(04:56):
wants to go. But you've got the opportunity, unity of
opportunities right now, and the question is the devil's and
the details. Can BB get over it and say yes,
this is it, we can do this one can they?

(05:17):
I mean that to me is the biggest thing. It's
not about what Amma says, It's about what Bebe says.
Because if Bib says yes, then I think it'll be done.
If he says no, we can't accept this. I think
Trump's going to go all right, we gave you the opportunity.
We're not going to do this anymore.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
The countries of the world, a lot of the countries
surrounding Israel, frankly, Muslim, Arab and many others, have had
great meetings with Hamage and it looks like it's working.
So we'll wait for a little while see how it
all turns out.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
We're gonna find out, there's no doubt, and it's going
to be very interesting to watch this thing play itself
out because we've been saying all along to do with
Israel has nothing to do with the Jewish people. It
has all to do with the political party and what
they want. BB's under tons of pressure. The families of

(06:11):
the hostages want their remains and if they're alive, their
loved one's back. The vast majority of the population is
over the constant war and want no part of this.
Pre October seventh, BB had a lot of issues, which

(06:31):
we can get into a little bit later. And we're
not talking about small, tiny issues. We're talking about legal
issues that were massive. So He plays the ultimate role
in this. And that's why this weekend when you heard
that Trump and him were kind of going at it,
it's because Trump basically is going, dude, you got to

(06:53):
figure this out right. Your numbers they're not slipping, they're
so far down they've fallen off the paper. You've lost
all kinds of opportunity to fix this situation. Come out
ahead where you've got a vast majority of support by

(07:16):
Republican Americans of a younger generation. You don't have that anymore,
and you're not gonna have that in the future. You're
not three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to
twenty three at youd Benson Show is your ex your Insta, YouTube,
and Facebook love hearing from all of you. So much
stuff to get to. By the way, today Scary Movie

(07:37):
Countdown begins. We're doing twenty of the greatest horror movies
of all times. Want to let you guys know that
because there's plenty of them. Speaking of horror movies, Trump
is gonna send in the National Guard to every place
he deems so, So what do you think of those apples?
Texas is getting involved even though they're not involved when

(08:00):
it comes to getting the Guard to Texas.

Speaker 8 (08:03):
President Trump is now planning to deploy more than four
hundred Texas National guardsmen to Illinois, Oregon, and other states
across the country, and Illinois Governor JB. Pritsker already calling
on Texas Governor Abbott to withdraw support, saying quote, we
must now start calling this what it is, Trump's invasion.
I call on Governor Rabbit to immediately withdraw any support

(08:26):
for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no
reason a president should send military troops into a sovereign
state without their knowledge, consent.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Or cooperation.

Speaker 8 (08:36):
Meanwhile, Governor Rabbit already responding supporting President Trump's move.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
You know what Abbot really wanted to say. That's what
he really wanted to say. Oh, I don't think that's true.
Oh I think it's true. So you've got Illinois, Okay,
that's one. And then you had a ruling that they
rule that you can't bring in the National Guard into Oregon,

(09:05):
and then Trump's like, yeah, we're going to anyways.

Speaker 9 (09:07):
It is remarkable to hear a Trump appointed judge say
that she is troubled by the efforts of the administration
to try to go around what the court has already ordered.
And not only this, but it comes at a time
where it has really left the court scrambling. It is
unusual to have many of these hearings happening late night
over the phone, the court scrambling to try to respond

(09:28):
to how the Trump administration is moving forward trying to
carry out the president's orders here.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
So what Trump did, and this is very much Trump asked,
is they told him you can't take over the Oregon
National Guard. So he went and said, okay. Then he
took over the Guard from California and sent them in there.
And so he is going to push and push and
push and push because he doesn't care. And that's a

(09:57):
scary place to be. It is his argument is, and
I've talked about this over the last couple of days,
to fight crime. I think it's a waste of time,
and it's not right. It's not who we are, it's
not part of the constitution, and it's just ridiculous in
a time where things are so ridiculously heated and the

(10:21):
anger is so high and the tension is so loud,
and you see some of the incidents taking place in
the ice facilities, do I think sending the guard in
to ice facilities in particular, is an overreach, not as
much as the other stuff, not as much. But it's Trump.
This is what he does. This is what he's always done.

(10:43):
He's going to push and push and push for as
long as he possibly can. But there are judges, and
the judges are saying no, and you're going around them,
and so this is going to be interesting to see
how this plays itself out. Speaking of judges, is meeting
this week Big doings as we get started in the

(11:04):
next term, including birthright citizenship as well as how they
draw lines when it comes to districts, and we've seen
it with the redistricting and is racial component part of it.

(11:24):
So so many things going on, Tons of stuff going
on even though they're not working. Three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at chat, Benson
shows your extra insta, YouTube and more. A lot of
stuff to get to today. Yes, it is scary movie
countdown where at number twenty we'll kick that off. Coming
up a little bit Saturday Night Live, Bad Bunny causing

(11:45):

Speaker 10 (12:58):
Chad Benson, Joe, you're listening to the Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 11 (13:12):
All right?

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Are you guys ready to be offended? I know some
of you are out there. This is bad Bunny Saturday
Night Live, his opening because he hosted. Some of you
are very angry about this. I saw the comments. Some
of you were sending stuff to me. What do you
think of this? I think I don't want it, but
I know he is hosting the super Bowl halftime, which

(13:35):
has made some people very angry.

Speaker 12 (13:37):
I'm very excited to be doing the super Bowl. And
I know that people all around the world who love
my music are also have bet betilment Tea Latino.

Speaker 13 (13:52):
La Latina and Mundo Yaqui and mac Hunloo.

Speaker 12 (14:18):
And if you didn't understand what I just said, you
have four months to learn.

Speaker 14 (14:30):
But you cannot.

Speaker 13 (14:32):
Here.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Oh yeah, so of course that pissed people off. He's
got to go to the internet to find how much. Oh,
this is what happens when we let non citizens. And
do you guys understand Puerto Rico is territory, right they're citizens,
you guys, get that right. They're US citizens, so if
they live here, they can do all the things. If

(14:56):
live in Puerto Rico, they can't vote for US presidency.
But there's citizens of the United States of America, and
that is hilarious to watch people how angry they are
over this. People have been asking me this last couple
of days. I'm like, I don't care. I watched the
game for the game. I don't care some people do.

(15:18):
This is about politics.

Speaker 15 (15:19):
It's it is what it is.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Just, Oh God, stop being so angry about crap. You
shouldn't be angry about. Okay, there's too much crap that
you're angry about that you shouldn't be angry about. There's
too much stuff that's going on out there that you
should be paying attention to, but you're not because you're
angry about stupid stuff like this three two, three, five, three, eight,

(15:43):
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show. It's
your ext your instant, all the other things right in
the Chad Benson Show. You want to be angry, great,
be angry about the crap that's going on with the
fact that our government right that was supposed to be
quote unquote right, they're going to fight the swamp. Came
the biggest crocodiles in the swamp, that we have two

(16:04):
parties that are essentially one party, and that they don't
care anything about you or I be angry about that.
Not bad, bunny. Let me know what you think. We
moved from the angry to the shoppy.

Speaker 16 (16:15):
The over quarter trillion dollars in holiday spending would be
a five point three percent increase over last year, and
many discounts are expected. Does Adobe Analytics lead insight analyst
Vivic Pandea.

Speaker 17 (16:26):
Some of the deepest discounts will go as much as
twenty eight percent. We see that in categories like electronics,
But then we're also anticipating discounts to be pretty competitive
for apparel at twenty five percent, appliances at eighteen percent.

Speaker 16 (16:38):
Adobe predicts one hundred and forty three billion dollars will
be spent by consumers buying on their phones.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
That's me. I've been guilty of that. I'll probably do
it again tomorrow because tomorrow is you've got two days
of Amazon Prime days. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 17 (16:51):
Met with consumers. They're also spending a lot on their
mobile devices, so We're seeing about eight point five percent
year on year growth there and that's going to make
up about one hundred and forty three billion dollars and spend.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Wow, we do it all. We watch, we shop, we
eat based on our phone. That's how we hunt. Now
we hunt on our phone. Before we used to have
to go out brave the elements. Hunt an animal that
in many cases may be hunting. You kill it, bring
it back, skin it, boil it, cook it so it's gross.

(17:25):
Now with the swipe of a button, I get a
phenomenal burrito. Oh yeah, baby, it's a good time. We
live here three two, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty
three at Chad Benton Show is your Acts, your Insta,
YouTube and Facebook. Happy Monday. It's a jet vented chow Sun.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Chad Bentson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Jay Jones, You're going to hear that name a lot.
He is running to be Attorney General of Virginia. He
says stuff like this, Hi.

Speaker 18 (18:14):
I'm Jay Jones, Democrat, running for Attorney General of Virginia,
and we're going to talk about public safety. As the
son of prosecutors and the father of two young boys,
I've always believed that keeping our communities safe is the
most important responsibility of any Virginia leader. That's why as
a delegate, I increase public safety funding by more than
twenty percent, ensuring that law enforcement and our first responders

(18:34):
have their resources in training they need to succeed. I
also sponsored bipartisan laws to strengthen penalties for sex offenders,
keep kids safe in schools, and establish programs to stop
gangs like MS thirteen in their tracks. Finally, I'll make
the Attorney General's office a leader in protecting Virginia's children.
I'll boost resources to fight domestic violence and child abuse,
step up efforts to fight trafficking, and crack down on

(18:57):
the social media companies violating privacy laws and taking advantage
of our kids to increase their profits. My north star
is creating safer communities from my kids and for yours,
and as Virginia's next Attorney General, I'm ready to deliver
just that.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Wow, that's that guy. He sounded like you sound sir, sir,
You sound awesome, sir, you do. You just sound great,
except for the crap that you text people doesn't sound
like that. Case in point, he is fantasized via text messages,

(19:31):
apparently to wanting to see the former GOP Speaker of
the House in Virginia, Todd Gilbert and his wife and
their kids dead. What dead? Now, I'm gonna play both
parts of the text messages.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Now.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
This was a text exchange with former state legislative colleague
and Republican House Delegate Carrie Kanyer in a series of
text message obtained by the National View. So I'm gonna
disguise my voice and pitch it up. Okay, so you
guys know what's going on. All right, here you go,

(20:14):
Here we go, get ready for it? All right, here
we go.

Speaker 19 (20:19):
They say nice things about everyone.

Speaker 20 (20:23):
Lol.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Okay, remember that was me playing Carrie right there. Okay,
if those guys die before me, I will go to
their funerals and piss on their graves. Send them out
a wash in something. Jay Jones, three people, two bullets,
Gilbert Hitler, and Polepot. If you don't know who Polepot is,

(20:45):
look him up. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head.
Spoiler put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst
people you know, and he receives both bullets every time.

Speaker 19 (20:56):
Jay, please stop.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Well oh okay, okay.

Speaker 19 (21:03):
It really bothers me when you talk about hurting people
or wishing death on them, you weren't simply asking questions.

Speaker 17 (21:13):
And you know it.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Remember I'm playing both parts here, So back to Jay,
I genuinely was. I wasn't attacking you. I was trying
to understand your logic.

Speaker 19 (21:26):
You weren't trying to understand you were talking about hoping
Jennifer Gilbert's children would die.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Yes, I've told you this before. Only when people feel
pain personally do they move on policy.

Speaker 19 (21:42):
There isn't. I point blank ask you more than three times,
and you dug in that you meant it. I am
honestly questioning a lot today.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
I mean, do I think Todd and Jennifer are evil
and that they're brief eating little fascists? Yes, there you go.
That is insane. So the dude wants to be on
their grave, put two bullets in the head of the
former Speaker of the House, thinks his kids are going

(22:18):
to grow up fascists, and wishes death on all of them.
And yet still in the race, and people are telling them,
don't get out of the race. No Democrats locally have
said this is a bridge too far. On the national level,
not so much.

Speaker 15 (22:33):
I also say, an interview with leader Jefferies. They can
we stop with the pro clutching about the meaning tweets
and some rare tweets that this week it came to
life that a Democrat candidate for a turning general state
of Virginia called for the assassination of political opponent, call
for the assassination of that political opponent's family, and there's
not one national Democrat calling for him to step aside,
not one.

Speaker 21 (22:53):
It's disgraceful, Neil, let me let you respond to that,
because that is going to be a big story I
think in the coming day.

Speaker 20 (22:58):
I absolutely think people should criticize that one hundred percent.
It's I think it was a private conversation we.

Speaker 22 (23:06):
Had, but it's still awful and disgusting.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Is in calling for the public but terrible.

Speaker 22 (23:10):
It should be.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
It should be condemned.

Speaker 20 (23:12):
But then we should condemn that. But then you should
condemn when the president is called the Democratic Party the
party of Satan, why don't we just say both of those.

Speaker 15 (23:21):
I think I've paid the price for save for political
violence on our side.

Speaker 20 (23:24):
But yeah, I agree with that, But then, like criticize,
we have.

Speaker 15 (23:30):
In fact that one Democrat is to that one political assassination.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
This moment of political violence is crazy, and he's right.
And by the way, Trump calls you Satan, it's that
nice and that's special. Do I think it's ridiculous? Yes,
Now for the last I don't know ten years, MAGA
is white supremacist, fascist, Nazis, neo Nazis, the Gestapo. I mean,

(24:01):
we can go on and on, deplorables of the names
that have been called, and the left always wants to
leave that part of the argument out. We have seen
in the last year a rise of leftist violence that
is growing and growing and growing and being celebrated by

(24:22):
the way, and you can go all the way back
to even the anti hero Manchioni and the killing of
the United Healthcare CEO, and of course Charlie Kirk, the
shooting of the ICE facility a couple of weeks ago
in Dallas. I mean, this is this is happening, and

(24:45):
they're fine with it. Look, I'm not fine when the
right does it, but don't tell me you don't do it.

Speaker 23 (24:50):
There's no eloquent way to put it. Ice agents or
pieces of human trash. And I mean that with the
most disrespect I can muster. These are individuals who are
able to dehumanize children.

Speaker 24 (24:59):
We even talking go here.

Speaker 25 (25:01):
If Ice shows up to your neighborhood, I'm sorry, I'm
just gonna say, it's time to start shooting at them.

Speaker 24 (25:08):
If they show up to your neighborhood. And I'm talking
to you a Border Patrol officer, Joe, it's time we
start shooting at John.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
What the hell it's going on with people? The rhetoric
is too damn hot and this is not a good
place for us to be. But left, you know that
there is some insanity going on. And does Trump push
of course he does. You think that the right won't

(25:37):
push back on Trump, and there are some out there
that won't, but a vast majority of them will. But
when you do stuff like this, when you are just
going well, it was a private conversation that he said
he wanted to have that guy's family killed. What that's okay,
guy wants to be a g he fantasie. What about

(26:00):
killing his family? When you've got people openly calling for
the shooting and killing of Ice. This this isn't good.
It isn't And there's a design to this as well,
because the more we're separated, the less that we pay
attention to what they want to do, and we're going
to talk a little bit more about that next hour

(26:21):

you think about them, they give you the heavy chevisoo.
We love doing it, said, We're going to do it
bigger and better than ever. Oh it's a big, bad,
scary kind of movie.

Speaker 26 (29:07):
Time.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Are you guys ready for it? I can't hear you.
Are you ready for the countdown? Oh? Baby, let's get
at it.

Speaker 14 (29:20):
The time has come, So prepare yourself for a journey
of fear from the darkest corner of cinema, the most
bingelling tales ever told. It's the countdown you've been waiting for.
Which movie will take the top spot? How about a

(29:42):
fish Tail it's so big because the jaws open wide.
Or the story of a young innocent girl battling evil
with some help.

Speaker 27 (29:58):
Well, then let's introduce ourselves. I'm Damian Karras and I'm
that Devil. Where's Reagan in here with us?

Speaker 14 (30:07):
Or the Fright of a madman with a chainsaw. You'll
have to listen to find out.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Are you ready? Number twenty all right, counted down twenty
scariest movies of all time. Again, cultural impact, impact of
the characters themselves. The genre didn't have an impact on
the genre itself as well as the frights and the
scares and the whatnots. Today, we start with the movie

(30:43):
that had a massive cultural impact. In fact, it changed
many things. Found footage number one was massive. So this
is nineteen ninety nine. The movie came out and the
settings were the woods of Birkertsville, Maryland, and it was

(31:03):
about a witch, a Blair Witch. The beauty of this
movie is it was the first real found footage kind
of film that exploded in ways that we just couldn't believe.
There had been some others, but nothing to this extent.
The realism, the way that this movie just you didn't

(31:24):
know was the Blair Witch real? Was it not real?
We know this wasn't probably found footage from somebody who disappeared,
but were the rumors of this thing?

Speaker 14 (31:33):
How?

Speaker 28 (31:33):
I mean?

Speaker 11 (31:34):
It was crazy.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
The beauty of this movie is they never knew, The
actors had no idea what was going on. Each night
they were told this is what you're going to be
doing tomorrow through cryptic notes from the directors. Then they
were left out there to their own devices. Eighty one

(31:58):
minutes long. Out of that, there was nineteen hours of
raw material that they took from the movie. There was
no gore, there was none of that stuff. Just fear
your mind played the tricks on you. Your mind made
you believe that something was there, and it took the

(32:21):
found footage era into a place that was incredible. Budget
was sixty thousand dollars. So when they went to I
think was sun Dance and they sold the movie this
is very interesting. The people who got it said, yeah,
I don't like the ending. So they went and shot
three different endings and they said, okay, guys, which ending

(32:45):
do you like best? And they all said, those are
all stupid endings. We like the original ending. The problem
with the original ending is during the freak out and
the screaming and the yelling, he accidentally bumped a couple
of the cameras and you didn't get any of it.
They had to go back and shoot it again the
next night. What made it real, though, was the fact

(33:07):
that they really weren't big time actors and the people
that were in the movie that weren't. The three stars
were just locals that they said here riff on something
like this. It was awesome.

Speaker 29 (33:20):
I am so so sorry for everything that has happened, because,
in spite of what Mike says now, it is my
fault because it was my project and I insisted, I
insisted on everything. I insisted that we weren't lost. I

(33:45):
insisted that we keep going. I insisted that we walk south.
Everything had to be my way. And this is where
we've ended up. And it's all because of me that
we're here, hungry, cold and hunted.

Speaker 20 (34:12):
I love you, mom.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
That was all improvised. Again, there was no real script
outside of, Hey, we want you guys to go out there.
We're gonna give you notes the night before, little vague notes.
You go and you film your parts. And they did.
They went, they filmed their parts based on these vague
little cues, and that's how you got to the end

(34:38):
of the movie. Blair Witch creepy, scary and amazing, so

(34:59):
re that Heather Donahue, who played kind of the star
of the movie, her mother, got condolence letters because people
thought she really died. A movie that changed the genre,
low budget one of the most profitable movies of all
time and ushered in a new world of handheld found footage.

(35:22):
Blair Witch Number twenty The Scariest Movies of all Time three, two, three, five, eight,
twenty four to twenty three At Chad Benson Show's your
extra Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. If you have a chance,
and maybe you have a movie or two you'd like
to sneak in, feel free to tweet at me or
text the program. I love hearing from me right here
at the Jad Benson Show. Coming up our number two
of the program. More on the government shutdown. It's about

(35:46):
all it deserves right there. I'm gonna tell you that
right now. Scotus in session talk a little bit about
that as well. So more on the chaos and craziness
that is going on with the National Guard Israel Hamas
and they get a deal done this week that is
going to be a big deal. Swell as a bunch
of other stuff. Reach out to us across all of
our social media. We love hearing from each into every

(36:08):
one of you. And like I said, if you have
a movie you think, hey, this is one of the
scariest movies I've ever seen. Let me know we'd love
to hear from you. You always tweet and text at us,
and we will take it into consideration. That is what
I do. This is the Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Can we as a nation survive this? Can we as
a nation get through this? Can we as a nation
ever come together and open up our government again? Now
it's time for ninety seconds of government shutdown talk. Ninety
seconds of government shutdown talk begins. Now let's talk about

(37:17):
the sticking points straight up. I'm gonna give it to you,
all right, deal with it as you want. Healthcare ACA subsidies. Okay,
So what's gonna happen is Republican Republicans they don't want
any part of this. Let it go. At least that's
the way it's being pitched. Mike Johnson says, Now, we

(37:39):
can negotiate some of that, but we've got to get
back to work. Without subsidies, people are gonna see, as
we talked about last week, their prices for insurance expand tremendously,
and you can see a lot of people lose their
health care or choose to only you know, get their kids.

(38:00):
I mean, it's going to be tough for a lot
of people. We talked about it. You know, you're going
to go from four hundred dollars to fourteen hundred dollars.
A lot of people can't afford that, Okay. Spending cuts
when it comes to certain things on foreign aid, okay,
as well as certain social cuts that Republicans want to

(38:22):
see made deeper in permanence. And of course the Democrats
don't wanting part of that. That's kind of the battle
that's going on. But the ACA healthcare subsidies are number one.
Right now there you go ninety seconds right to you.
Then's getting easier than that. You've learned enough. Now we
move from there to the Middle East. Is something going

(38:43):
to get done? It looks like they're moving in the
direction for Hamas to give up everything, including the remaining
hostages and their remains, and to have a permanent seasefire.
The devil is we always know in the details.

Speaker 30 (39:01):
The deal is set to move in phases, with President
Trump posting the first phase should be completed this week.
Hundreds of thousands of Israelis rallying over the weekend in
support to the deal. That obstacles do remain not least
the issue of disarming Hamas.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Which is a big deal. Is a big deal because
there are some in Hamas that want no surrender, and
I'm not talking about the uppers. They recognized that it's over.
It's how do they get out of this? And their

(39:36):
worry is they don't trust Bebe. Trump's worry is I
told you. Even this weekend, they got into it on
the phone over the fact that Bbe's never happy. Bib
was upset that Trump essentially said, you know, good for

(39:58):
a mass, glad they're doing this, give him some kudos
kind of, and he got upset with that, and then
they got into it. He said, you're never happy. Doesn't
matter what we do, You're never happy. So there are
serious issues when it comes to the trust of both
Hamas and Bibe, because Biebe is one cog in the

(40:20):
wheel of a group of people in the Little Coud
Party that they want the whole thing. They're not as
sold on Trump's plan as the rest of the world is.
But I think it's going to get done, or at
least a portion of it, sometime this week. I don't

(40:42):
think it's going to be everything, but I think a
vast majority of the big sticking points are going to
get done, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see
the hostages and the remains start to come home this week.

Speaker 7 (40:57):
This is I think the last best chance of a
ceased fire and a potential long term piece. If this
falls apart, then we're going down the wrong route, which
would be a continuation of this horrible war.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Nobody wants that because it's no longer a war. It's
a beat down. Everybody recognizes that too many people have died.
What happened on October seventh was heinous. What has happened
since is a beating and it's time for America to

(41:31):
help move this thing forward and do something different. So
the one thing we've talked about here over and over again.
They've tried a lot of things. It's time to try
something different. Not saying it's going to work, but what
has been tried in the past hasn't worked. And now
we're in a position to see something completely different and

(41:54):
whether or not this path forward will work. It may
not or it might, but the onus is just as
much on Israel as it is Hamas, and we'll see
again what the details look like. Because some mosses. You know, Okay,

(42:17):
they go and they disarm themselves, and then I don't
even know what they have left at this point in time.
At the same time, even this weekend, Trump got pissed it, Bibe,
because you know, while they're in the midst of all
of this, he's bombing. Trump's like, really, But he didn't
say it like that though. He was more like, really, Bibe, really,

(42:37):
this is what we're doing. I thought, I told you know,
can you stop it for five? You're never happy. You're
never happy. Doesn't be like you're like one of my
ex wives. You're just never happy. Speaking of invasion, Trump
is going to invade Illinois. Wait what, you guys know

(43:00):
that it's going into Illinois no matter what anybody says.

Speaker 9 (43:04):
It is remarkable to hear a Trump appointed judge say
that she is troubled by the efforts of the administration
to try to go around what the court has already ordered.
And not only this, but it comes at a time
where it has really left the court scrambling. It is
unusual to have many of these hearings happening late night
over the phone, the court scrambling to try to respond

(43:25):
to how the Trump administration is moving forward trying to
carry out the president's orders here.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
So lo and behold Illinois an Oregon front and center.
So you've got a judge who ruled over the weekend
you can't send in National Guard into Oregon. And then

(43:54):
Trump says, but we can. You just said I couldn't
send organ National Guard to Portland. I can send California
National Guard into Portland. And that's what he's done. So
you've got that. And then of course you've got Illinois
now because they're coming, and Texas is a big part

(44:14):
of it.

Speaker 8 (44:14):
President Trump is now planning to deploy more than four
hundred Texas National Guardsmen to Illinois, Oregon, and other states
across the country, and Illinois Governor JB. Pritsker already calling
on Texas Governor Abbot to withdraw support, saying, quote, we
must now start calling this what it is, Trump's invasion.
I call on Governor Rabbit to immediately withdraw any support

(44:37):
for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no
reason a president should send military troops into a sovereign
state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation. Meanwhile, Governor Rabbit
already responding supporting President Trump's move.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Oh wait, we've got the quote from Abbot that's probably
with it. Hey Pritzker, that's what I think of that.
Oh God, I do a kid here. You have to
wonder how, what what exactly? It's insane. So you've got

(45:14):
that going on. So Illinois in particular Chicago and Portland. Now,
could you make a case for ice facilities? You could
make a much better case than some of the other
things that we've seen. DC was a totally different thing.

(45:36):
I have to remind people of that. A lot of
people don't get that DC much different because it's federal
ice though, because of the shooting in Dallas, the threats
that have gone on and on and on on a
daily basis. We played some last hour of what people
are saying about ICE and this whole thing that they're

(45:56):
there could stop. They're not the gestoppo you do. Before Trump,
ice was around. Does everybody understand that? Does everybody have
an understanding that ice wasn't magically produced when Trump became president,
that it has been around for a while. I just

(46:16):
want people to get that, to understand that, because I
think a lot of people think that Trump somewhere came
up with the idea to invent ice, to unleash it.
They have an issue. I'm not gonna lie to you,

(46:38):
and the issue is some of the stuff. Man, people
are seeing it, they're not thrilled with. Some of it's fake,
some of it's ai, some of it's real. It is
not a good place for our nation to be in
at this moment in time. Nobody wants to see the
way the sausage is made. People are, yeah, let's get

(47:02):
out the bad people. What your guys are doing? What
you got a helicopter? You storm it down a building,
You're repelling into a building. What the hell's going on here?
This isn't the we want the bad? Well here's the problem.
The left is like, no, we're not going to cooperate.
We don't care. If we arrested some guy that was

(47:23):
accused of of trafficking, accused of beating somebody, accused of
any of these things and he's got an order to
be removed, we won't let you have him. So there
you go, and then you get this. Not a good place, people,
not a good place. We got to do better. So
are we going to talk about the purple revolution coming up?

(47:45):
What's the purple You will find out what the Purple
Revolution is. It's taking place. We're going to be a
part of the Purple Revolution because we are the Purple Revolution.
They call it the Purple Revolution. We call it the
exhausted majority, that is us. We're also going to talk
about bad money because he hosted Saturday Night Live and
some people are angry. I'm angry about that. Angry and

(48:09):
an interesting story about how you dress if you're successful,
and how white people somehow get to dress a certain way.
It's just it's bizarre talk about that. But first, relief factor. Hey,
you want to feel better? Of course you do. How
about something he's one hundred percent drug free, Okay, helps

(48:32):
with aches and pains from exercise, over exertion, aging and
everyday living. That's what relief factor is. Now, I've got
a new workout area in my new podcast studio and
I'm working out all the time. I got all kinds
of like machines and to and stuff because I'm getting
ready and I'm gonna get fit and I'm gonna play
in a whole bunch of pickball Turner's I'm back at
it again and I want to be able to train
every single day and relief Factor allows me to do

(48:53):
that now. It has four key ingredients Omega, three fatty acids, resveritol, kuserman,
and a karen each support the body's inflammatory response for
different metabolic pathways. It is safe to take on a
daily basis. I do it, My wife does it. I
feel amazing. You will as well for less than a
cup of coffee a day. How about knowing those aches

(49:16):
and pains and your muscles that bug you every day
go away. That's what relief Factor does. Head to relief
factor dot com. That's relieffactor dot com. So you're going
to discover a natural way to support your bodies comfort,
keep moving, and feel your best every day. Relief Factor
dot Com or called one eight hundred four relief. That's
eight hundred to number four relief for relief Factor. It

(49:37):
is the Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
Scotus getting back at its and this is gonna be
a doozy.

Speaker 31 (49:55):
This is going to be a term that will tell
us whether or not there are limits to the Supreme
Court's really expansive view of presidential power. Already, in the
numbers they have cided disproportionately with Donald Trump, at least
on the emergency or temporary dockets. So many of these
cases initially out of the gate, challenging Trump policies. Lower

(50:15):
courts have put them on hold. The Supreme Court has
rolled back those blocks, but temporarily.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
Executive power, executive power, executive power. Congress has kind of
ceded a lot of its power to the executive branch
over the last It's not just been Trump. This is
long before Trump, but there's no doubt Trump has taken
advantage of it over and over and over again. And
they're going to be looking at is this something that

(50:42):
Trump has the actual right to do.

Speaker 31 (50:46):
The power of the first finances, that's all in Congress's lane.
The President, though, has wrested some of that power from
Congress under the auspices of an emergency. Is that constitutional?

Speaker 13 (50:57):
Is it legal?

Speaker 31 (50:58):
The Supreme Court's going to answer that. That's probably the
blockbuster case of the term and will have hundreds of
billions of dollars on the line, including potential refunds.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
And that's what we talked about. That's the tariffs. Could
there be a situation where there is money that has
to be refunded to people who paid tariffs? So companies
have paid tariffs. Are they going to get their money back?
That's going to be a big deal. Then there's some
other stuff that's quite well, I think as big of
a deal from birthright citizenship to you know, whether or

(51:28):
not you can draw lines based in certain ways when
it comes to districts.

Speaker 31 (51:33):
Last term we saw the Supreme Court address the scope
of nationwide injunctions as applied to the Birthright Citizenship Order.
Now the Justices potentially could be taking up whether that
is constitutional his new interpretation that anyone not born to
a US citizen parent or permanent resident is not eligible
for US citizenship. Obviously a huge monumental question.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
And so remember last time they went into everybody thought
that the whole birthright citizenship was decided. It wasn't. It
was decided that a judge in Virginia could not blanket
the entire country when it came to injunctions. Three two, three, five,

(52:19):
three eight, twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benon Shows,
your extra ins a YouTube, Facebook and more love hearing
from all of you right here on the Chad Benon Show.
This will be the case itself, which is going to
be obviously a big deal because is there the chance

(52:40):
that birthright citizenship ends. It's hard to tell. I would
think no, but I couldn't say for certain. Let me
know what you think. Then you go and you have
one other one that is big. As everybody fights. Texas
and California, we're going to redistrict and do all these

(53:02):
kind of things. How those districts are drawn up. That
is now going to be right in front of the
Supreme Court.

Speaker 31 (53:09):
The Court will decide whether or not the use of
race in drawing election maps is unconstitutional, even though the
Voting Rights Act of nineteen sixty five says that map
drawers need to take race into account, they cannot draw
election maps that disproportionately silence voters of color.

Speaker 2 (53:27):
Is that whole regime unconstitutional?

Speaker 31 (53:30):
Some members of this conservative majority seem inclined to say
it is.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
So, and that one's a big deal because as that goes, realistically,
and this is out of Louisiana, as that goes, a
lot of what's going to happen to redistricting wise is
going to be looked at a much different way. So
just because Texas is redistricting and the maps are drawn,
and just because California is going to do it doesn't

(53:56):
mean automatically that that's what everybody is going to be for.

Speaker 17 (53:59):
This is it.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
You can't fix it. No, this will be a big deal.
Let me know what you think. Three two, three, five,
twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show, Your Acts,
your Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. A lot of stuff
still to get to on this very busy Monday. You
missed any show, Grab the podcast. This is Chad Benson Show, Fun.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show, Saturday.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
Night Live this weekend. I'm gonna give you guys a hint.
Fifty first season, they went after somebody can you name him? Trump? Maybe?
Maybe I'm just your keeping my eye on SNL making
sure they.

Speaker 4 (54:59):
Don't do anything do mean about me.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
And they better be.

Speaker 11 (55:02):
Careful because I know late night TV like the back
of my hands.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Oh what yeah, yeah, they went after Mardcore No way.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
Way, but they better be on their best behavior otherwise
they'll have to answer to my attack dog at the FCC,
Brandon Carr.

Speaker 11 (55:25):
Wow, all right, thank you, it's actually Brendan, sir. It's
crazy you think I care.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
Bye, you gotta sid That was funny.

Speaker 6 (55:45):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (55:45):
And of course then the controversy bad Buddy hosting the show.
You know it's gonna be the halftime. I do, I
do understand that.

Speaker 13 (55:55):
Wow, thank you, Nana.

Speaker 12 (55:58):
But really I'm very excited to doing the super Bowl
and I know that people all around the world who
love my music are also happy.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
Now I am going to do my best. My Spanish
isn't great. Let's see how I do it. Especially all
the Latinos, all the Latinos and Latinas throughout the world, yacky,
and here in the United States, all the people who
have worked open doors more than achievement of life. It

(56:32):
is more than a win for myself, it is a
win for all of us footprints in our contributions in
this country. No one will ever be able to take
that away or erase it.

Speaker 12 (56:46):
And if you didn't understand what I just said, you
have four months to learn.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
Oh my god. I saw people this weekend. Well, Tommy
Lauren and Crystal Ball we're talking about this on Tommy
Lauren's show. And she goes, do you think it's right
that if somebody who's not an American should be hosting
the show? And she goes, what he's talking about, Well,
he's not an American. She goes, he's from Puerto Rico.
He's a US citizen. That's a territory, so he's a

(57:22):
US citizen, and she was like, blink, blink. Do I
care that he's hosting the show?

Speaker 32 (57:28):
Now?

Speaker 2 (57:29):
You know why, because I watched the game. I don't
care about the rest of the stuff. I'll watch some
of the g I used to watch the commercials, but
now you get the commercials a week before the damn
game comes out, so it doesn't matter. But I'm sure
there'll be a lot of people upset about this today.
Stop being upset about stuff. That's what they want. They
want the outrage they do who are they both parties

(57:50):
love the fact that we fight with each other over
the dumbest things in the world. They want that there's
a revolution going on. We've been doing it for a while.
Others are trying to get involved.

Speaker 32 (58:02):
You're leftist, listen up.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
It's time for the Purple Revolution.

Speaker 29 (58:06):
Hi.

Speaker 32 (58:07):
My name is Hunter Howell, and I'm a right wing
independent creator, and I'm telling you right now the issue
is not right versus left, It is up versus down.
These people at the top do not care about me,
and they definitely don't care about you or your friends either, okay.
And even though I slightly lean right, we might not
agree in every policy. I think you're probably a cool

(58:29):
ass person. You're probably a great human being, okay, And
I want to share that message of unity and loving
thy neighbor. And we must unite, and we have to
do it now if we want our future to be better,
to be prosperous. Okay, I am telling you it is
intentional to keep us divided and mad at each other
and blaming each other for all of these problems. In reality,

(58:51):
we all probably want similar things, okay.

Speaker 2 (58:54):
And in order to get to.

Speaker 32 (58:56):
That place of a better future for our generation, for
our children in generation, we have to unite.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
Look, there's a younger generation that looks at both parties
as a giant failure, and the grip of both parties
is starting to slip. And you're seeing that the left,
they're having a huge issue with Mundan in AOC. The
right has a young Maga problem, which is they're not
old maga. They don't look at things like Israel the same.

(59:25):
They want America first, to be about America first and
not your crony buddies. They look at the fact that
you're making tons of money off of your stuff, and
quite frankly, they're pissed about it rightly so. So these
are all serious conversations that this generation is having. And
it's not the Purple movement. It's exhaust majority. And I

(59:48):
use that word majority because we are the majority, a
vast majority of people. And I've said this for years.
You're a little right, you're a little left. You don't
live in the world of uber progressive and very few
of you live over here in the world of extremes
when it comes to the right, are there some? Yes?
The problem is they're the ones with the bully puppet
and the microphone. They're the ones who have set it

(01:00:10):
up now, so the only thing that matters in election
is the primaries. Nothing else matters. That's the frustration that
we have. We need to take the conversation back Outrage culture, though,
is growing on a daily basis, and the reason is
pretty simple. You've got the interwebs.

Speaker 18 (01:00:26):
Is it just me or does it feel like the
TikTok algorithm is just like calibrated for like rage bait.

Speaker 33 (01:00:32):
If it feels like your feed is designed to make
you mad, you're not alone. Some creators say the apps
seem built to reward outrage.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Nothing has made as much sense to me as brage baiting.

Speaker 23 (01:00:42):
My tiktoks with the most views are all about like
controversial topics or things that got people talking.

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
People love the rage bait.

Speaker 22 (01:00:49):
They love to argue.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
It's just how this app works, it's what this app
drives on.

Speaker 33 (01:00:53):
Each social media app has unique algorithms that calculate what
to show you next based on whether you like comment
or shit post.

Speaker 34 (01:01:00):
The downside, at the end of the day, everything just
goes to the most terrible types of things that human
nature will be attracted to.

Speaker 11 (01:01:07):
Explosions.

Speaker 34 (01:01:08):
We're going to look at train crashes, We're going to
look at whatever grabs our attention and gets that dopamine
hit instantly.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
It is one hundred percent true. That's on us as
much as it is on the algorithm. The algorithm is
only giving us what we ask for. It may make
some suggestions, it may push you into an area, but
then you're the one who keeps hitting the button over
and over again.

Speaker 33 (01:01:34):
In a twenty eighteen internal presentation at Facebook, the company
now known as Meta warned, our algorithms exploit the human
brain's attraction to divisiveness. Wow Entrepreneur podcast host and professor
Scott Galloway is a lead commentator in the tech space with.

Speaker 35 (01:01:50):
The algorithms figured out? Is there something better than sucks
and that's rage.

Speaker 33 (01:01:53):
A study published this year found X's algorithm appeared to
boost posts that were more emotional and partisan, especially hostile
content about people you disagree with.

Speaker 35 (01:02:04):
Enragement equals engagement equals more ads equals more shareholder value.

Speaker 33 (01:02:09):
On a shareholder call this summer, Meta CEO Marcu Zuckerberg
touted the company's ability to hold your attention.

Speaker 26 (01:02:15):
AI is significantly improving our ability to show people content
that they're going to find interesting and useful. That it
has led to a five percent increase in time spent
on Facebook and six percent on Instagram just this quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
And here's something about that. I want you guys to
take this in that Instagram that Facebook in particular, are
no longer things that your family and friends have posted.
Ninety five percent of the stuff that people are viewing
watching our videos from people who aren't family or friends. Rage. Anger.

(01:02:55):
It's real, and it's a business model that is working.
If it bleeds, it leads. Was not something that was
made up a few years ago.

Speaker 33 (01:03:03):
But interesting and useful can sometimes lead users to dark places.
You think these companies are intentionally pushing rage at us,
I think.

Speaker 35 (01:03:11):
It's Airs of Omission Commission. They have ignored what is
obvious here, and that is the more time you spend online,
the more likely you are to engage in misogynistic, nationalistic,
or kind of violent content. So they know this, They've
known it for a long time. Basically, the whistleblowers of
Meta all said the same thing, that they purposely ignored

(01:03:34):
the data.

Speaker 33 (01:03:35):
In twenty twenty one, former Facebook product manager Frances Hougan
testified at a house hearing that Facebook prioritized profits over
tackling problematic content.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
The result is a system that amplifias division, extremism, and polarization.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
And both sides like that because the more that we're
not looking at them, the more they're able to do
whatever it is that they want to do. Us fighting
with each other makes their life better and makes them
more money and keeps them in power. We need to
take the conversation back. It is vitally important that we

how people dress and the privilege of dressing a certain way,

which of course lands on white privilege. But we'll talk

Day Chad Benson.

Speaker 22 (01:05:41):
Show, Fronting with Scissors. Sounds great compared to.

Speaker 14 (01:05:54):
This, says that time of the day when we teach
you guys a little something something about.

Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
Fun learning words, words that you hear, phrases, you hear
things you hear, do you think to yourself self, what
the hell that they just say? Because they're younger and
they have their own vernacular and it sounds like stuff
we've said in the past. But the truth is we
don't know because they've changed the meaning of it. Now
it's time for the urban word of the day. The

(01:06:23):
young have a vocabulary all their own, and we break
it down for you. It's called the urban word of
the day.

Speaker 11 (01:06:31):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
Today's urban word is rather interesting. It's a phrase. I've
seen this on several occasions over the last couple of
weeks on the old tick in the talk stealth wealth.
So these are people who are well to do, wealthy,
top one percent, but they don't look at anything like

(01:06:58):
successful wealthy people. They dress very poor according to the
world that they should be dressed as everything about them
is understated and or very ordinary. No gross clothing, you
know that you see it's like, oh, this is Lama
and alligator fuse together. Here's my five hundred thousand dollars. Watch. No,

(01:07:21):
it's like, here's my sako, and here's my T shirt
that I just got the other day and it's got
a rip already on it. And here's this. It's my
shorts that don't match anything. I'm a bad shoes. Oh
I like that. Yeah, yeah, So it's called stealth wealth.

(01:07:43):
That is your urban word of the day. That was
the urban word of the day, now, you know. And
it's interesting that I bring this up because there is
an article about the dress and the stealth wealth. But
the article argues that being able to dress poor lee

(01:08:05):
not poor, but poorly where you know, I mean, I
dressed awful. I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I'm
not It's not who I am. Right, two things I've
never cared about. I don't care about cars, and I
don't care about clothes. I mean, I want stuff to do,
you know, to fit, but outside of that, I don't care.
So it's it's funny because they're arguing in this article

(01:08:30):
that white people have the privilege of not having to
dress well to prove themselves socially. Now I've always said this,
look you can, and being in the industries, I was
long before this. When it came to, you know, the
financial industries, you would have people that would try really

(01:08:52):
hard to be impressive, and you could always tell who's
the guy. He's got the goofy tennis shoes on. It's
just the bad geens right din shirt with his phone
on the belt, and I'm like, that guy's probably worth
forty million dollars, one hundred million dollars. This guy over
here is probably everything's on credit because some people are
trying too hard. And the way that they argue in

(01:09:12):
this article is it's the poor and minorities who try
really hard to look the part where people are successful,
in particular white men, straight white men. It's got to
be straight white men because gay white men would never
dress this bad. That's not true. I've known a few
friends in Palm Springs who were not the best dressers,

(01:09:35):
and they were gay. Oh my lord. Some of the
other thing they talk about is the thin line nonconformity
in status. And the reason they argue this, which again
I found fascinating, is being able to dress the way
that you want in particular situations. So you'll see people

(01:09:59):
in particular stars, right, you'll see them dress weird, Sam
Bankman Freed. You've seen a lot of even the people
that are big tech bros not dress well. What they're
saying in that situation, though, and what they're arguing is

(01:10:20):
people who do that aren't conveying I don't know how
to dress. What they're conveying is I don't care what
I look like. I still am the boss here. I
have all the power. That's what they're arguing. Now, there
is also something to be said for people who absolutely
have no style. There's also that, And let's not forget

(01:10:43):
pro skateboarders. Skateboarders, it's a beauty of skateboarders. They wear
the worst best outfits of all time. Every time you
see one, you like, that guy's either a pro skateboarder
or homeless. That guy's a pro skate order, or he's
a billionaire. But some people just don't dress well. And

(01:11:04):
it's also something they call the red sneaker effect. Right,
So this is the nonconformist where walking to a luxury
store in athletic wear can backfire depending on who commits it.
So what they argue is, you know, if a black
guy walks into a place that and they're just wearing
athletic outfit, that maybe they're going to treat them like, uh,

(01:11:28):
you know, all pretty woman type, where if a white
guy does it, they may treat them better. I don't
think that to be the case anymore. Was that the
case at one time? I'm sure it was. It was
just very interesting that dressing badly is a privilege, a
white privilege, a white privilege. This is where the elite

(01:11:50):
defy the norms to signal confidence, nonchalant, or distinction. So
what do you think of those apples? That's stealth wealth,
which is the we just learned three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three Acts Shed Benson

What will it be? Well, you'll have to stick around
to find out more on the government shutdown, so it
still shutdown? Who cares Trump versus the States, versus the

(01:12:35):
States versus anothers in that state? Yours in every state?
It seems to be talk about that as well. What
is the Purple Revolution? We will discuss that as well.
The Purple Revolution very interesting, you're thinking, is it lavin?

Speaker 13 (01:12:52):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
No, no, no, not lavender purple Revolution. Plus, we go

Speaker 1 (01:13:03):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
It's time for one of our favorite things we do
each and every day during this time of year, which
seems to happen during this time of year. It has
nothing to do with our Scary Movie count ad which
will be coming up. No, kids, this is the thing
that they the government does to us all the time
because well, they're ridiculous. Now it's time for ninety seconds

(01:13:53):
of government shutdown talk.

Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
This is a tsunami of Donald Trump's creation. The pain,
the hurt, the fear that's going to rise amongst millions
of Americans who are going to lose health insurance. Dear God,
just come to the table and do something to help Americans.

Speaker 4 (01:14:09):
The Democrats are causing the loss of a lot of
jobs with there. It's a shutdown. It's their shutdown, not
our shutdown. It's their shutdown.

Speaker 5 (01:14:17):
Unfortunately, and tragically, this president has indicated that he will
inflict maximum pain on the country as well as federal workers.
But this kind of boeing cannot be allowed.

Speaker 6 (01:14:30):
I think, hope and pray that it ends in about
a week. I don't think that his goat can go
much longer because you know, you think of all the
people here are being harmed by this. It begins with women, infants,
and children. Their nutrition programs are being stopped, and veterans
health services and all the rest. I think these Democrats
in the Centate are going to fuel the outcry, and
I think they're going to fold and do the right thing,
and we'll get the likes back on, and get back

(01:14:52):
to work for the people.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Oh right, there you go. Do you guys feel better
about that. I'm going to tell you this is as
much as I covered about ninety seconds, which is ninety
seconds more than I normally would. They do whatever it
is that they do. They could sit there and fight
over stuff. That's ridiculous. I go back to this, and
it's all ridiculous because they make it that way. This

(01:15:13):
is not a new bill. This is a c R
from the old bill when the new bill should have
been done on September thirtieth into October first. Oh sorry,
that's all I'm allowed to do. If those are the rules,
I don't make them up. FCC rules, brand new rules.
Just made them up today, brand new. Couldn't get any
just brand newer. I'll let you guys know that. Meanwhile,
well that's going on. There's a battle in Illinois.

Speaker 36 (01:15:36):
It is illegal, in fact, to call out the National
Guard or to send troops into American cities. The Possi
Coomatatis Act prohibits that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Posse comatatis. It's like a guna matana, but it's posya matana.
What does that say? Actually, let's go over that. I'm
going to read it to you so you have an
understanding of what that means. Posscomatatus Act is a US law.
That is, the military can't act like police force inside

(01:16:07):
the USh of a In other words, Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy,
Coastguard can't be regular cops right, search homes, enforce regular
civilian laws. Okay, what the military can't do and I'm
giving this guy's a breakown because you're cann hear the slot.
They can't make arrests, search homes, or seize property. They

(01:16:28):
can enforce state or federal laws like FBI, police sheriff can.
They can't patrol streets, run checkpoints, respond to protests as
law enforcement. What they can do. There are certain exceptions
when under states control by a governor, they can help
with law enforcement, hurricane riots, the Insurrection Act. The president

(01:16:49):
contemporarily deploy active duty troops inside the US during major
crises like rebellion and total breakdown of order and support roles.
The military can help civilian agencies with logistics, intel and training,
just not direct arrests and policing. Okay, by the way,

(01:17:09):
posse comitatus, here's some fun in Latin means power of
the county. It's origin. See we're always learning stuff. Meant
a sheriff could call on citizens to help enforce the law,
hence the posse. So there you go, simple and easy.

(01:17:29):
You wanted to break it down because you're gonna hear
a lot of this. Trump is trying to say that, yeah,
I'm not having them police, I am having them protect
certain things, ice facilities being one of those things. Not
everybody's buying it. And of course Pritzker, now remember in

(01:17:52):
a democratic state, you must stand up and god everything
against Trump. Right, You've got to guard everything that Trump
may see as something that he should try to fix.
In doing so, you've got to be that resistance. We've
talked about this. Michelle Luhan is the governor of New Mexico.

(01:18:14):
She got requests from two cities to have the National
Guard brought in under her, you know, under her watch,
to come in and to assist at a time when
there was a massive amount of crime, gang violence, and

(01:18:34):
drugs in these two cities. And so she did that.
So Trump is doing what he's doing because well he's Trump,
and he thinks I'm going to see how far and
get away.

Speaker 18 (01:18:46):
With this call.

Speaker 37 (01:18:47):
Land Security Secretary Christy Nome calling Chicago a war zone
over the weekend, turning up the heat on the war
of words between the Trump administration and Illinois elected officials,
and now, after months to send in the National Guard,
President Trump has confirmed that he's authorized three hundred troops
to come to the city. Illinois Governor JB.

Speaker 38 (01:19:08):
Pritz Gar already calling this an invasion in posting on
ex that President Trump is ordering four hundred members of
the Texas National Guard for deployments in Illinois, Oregon and
other locations. Prince Gar calling on Texas Governor Abbott to
refuse to coordinate and withdraw his support.

Speaker 36 (01:19:26):
They want to create the pretext for bringing troops in,
for making it seem like there is a war zone
in Chicago. They're the ones creating that war zone.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
So their logic is, you brought him in, so therefore
the people acted out they wouldn't have acted out before,
which we know is a bunch of crap because we've
seen some issues in certain places. Now, does it deserve this?
Probably not. Trump likes the show. Could you make some argument,

(01:20:00):
especially in areas of ice right now and the temperature
that's taken up so high that yes, you can make
an argument that maybe ICE needs some protection. There was
a woman arrested over the weekend because of spir landa

(01:20:23):
gun she tried to ram them. There are rumors out
there that there is, you know, bounties on the heads
of ICE members.

Speaker 37 (01:20:31):
Land Security Secretary at Christy Noma says DHS has intelligence
that gangs, cartels, and known terrorist organizations have bounties on
specific immigration officers and agents' heads two thousand dollars to
kidnap them and ten thousand dollars to kill them. Now,
Secretary Nome didn't provide any evidence as far as a

(01:20:55):
witch of these gangs or groups or the one you
have these bounties on the heads, and News Nation has
not been able to confirm her claims. But federal prosecutors
have filed felony assault charges against a woman who was
shot by a Border Patrol agent in Chicago on Saturday,
claiming she drove a car into agents after boxing them in.

(01:21:18):
The woman, who was allegedly carrying a gun at the time,
is now an FBI custody, and another man was charged
in the incident, which was one of two such attacks
on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
Now, again, you have people out there that are unstable,
that are pissed and angry, that are seeing how the
sausage is made. We've gone over this numerous times. Both
sides here have reacted as children because you've got one
group of people who are deemed to be evil now
because they're trying to do their job and are some

(01:21:53):
of them maybe doing it with a little vigor. We
can have that conversation, but the reality is you have
people that are here illegally, many cases, people that have
been taken into custody by local law enforcement, and they
refuse to work with our federal law enforcement to the
point where they're willing to allow somebody who has an

(01:22:13):
order to be removed, who's gone through the steps of
the process of going to hearings and then told they
have to go because there are cases for asylum, didn't
meet what it needed to to be considered worthy of asylum,

(01:22:34):
and so they've gone through the process. I just want
to remind everybody that the process that everybody says everyone's
going to do process, But when you don't like the
outcome and then you say, well, we're going to do
everything to make sure we hide everybody, and then you've
got bad people out there who are in jails, who
are in prisons, who have got orders to be removed,
and you decide, no, we're going to let them out
the back, or we're going to do everything we can
to shield them. Then ICE goes and goes, well, we're
going to get our our quota if you will elsewhere.

(01:22:59):
So there's a lot of issues with this, But yeah,
do I think there are people out there that would
love to do horrific things to Ice?

Speaker 1 (01:23:06):
Uh huh, there's no eloquent way to put it.

Speaker 23 (01:23:08):
ICE agents are pieces of human trash, and I mean
that with the most disrespect I can muster. These are
individuals who are able to dehumanize children.

Speaker 24 (01:23:15):
What are we even talking about here?

Speaker 25 (01:23:17):
If ICE shows up to your neighborhood, I'm sorry, I'm
just gonna say, it's time to start shooting at them.

Speaker 24 (01:23:25):
If they show up to your neighborhood and I'm talking
to you, Border Patrol Officer Joe, it's time we start
shooting at you.

Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
There's a lot more of that, a lot of cussing too.
So yeah, there's a lot of issues out there both sides,
and this isn't a both sides thing, but this is
one of those things where people don't like to see
how the sauce has just made. But once again, Democrats,
I remind you the reason you're in the situation you're in,

(01:23:55):
and I will tell you this over and over again.
You allowed ten twelve plus million people to come through
our borders completely unencumbered, almost with the welcoming matt You
then decided, when it was too late, that we need
to figure this out because this is too crazy.

Speaker 13 (01:24:15):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
Trump got hired, if you will, on the back of
that debacle, and he's doing what the people want them
to do. They may not like the look of it.
But the mess that we're in that's on you. That's
on you because of what you allowed through the Biden

(01:24:36):
administration to happen. That's on you. And it is ridiculous
that we're in a position where we can't take somebody
who's in jail and hand them off to a federal
officer because you'll be deemed as somebody who's not resisting enough,
and you want to show that you're there for the fight.
This is why Trump three two, three, five, three, eight,

(01:29:20):
Jake Browning, Raiders, The Raiders are awful, all things trending
in the magical world of Twitter. Yeah, Mark Sanchez, So
you haven't heard, but fumble. That's pretty much what he
smells famous for, even though he was actually not a
horrible quarterback. So this weekend something happened. Originally was oh

(01:29:41):
my god, he got stabbed. It's horrible, which it is.

Speaker 28 (01:29:44):
But according to the probable cause affidavit, after Sanchez allegedly
shoved the driver, the driver believed he was now in
physical danger, grabbed his pepper spray and sprayed mister.

Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
Sanchez in the face.

Speaker 28 (01:29:56):
The affidavit says Sanchez again advanced towards the driver, saying
the driver thought this guy's trying to kill me, so
he pulled his knife and when mister Sanchez came at him,
ultimately striking him multiple times. Police say when a detective
tried to get a statement from Sanchez at the hospital,
mister Sanchez said he did not know who did this
to him or where it happened.

Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
It's not true. Remember their videos everywhere. Always remember that
he whooped up on this guy, and this guy ended
up having to protect himself allegedly.

Speaker 28 (01:30:25):
Sanchez is now facing multiple criminal charges, including battery resulting
in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.
The Marion County Prosecutor saying this incident should never have
happened and as with any case, will follow the facts
and the law wherever they lead.

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
So we'll see what this looks like. Not a good look, mark,
not a good look at all. You're missing the show
grabbed the podcast coming up. A lot of good stuff
still to get to, including number twenty was a countdown
the twentiest scary movies of all time. It is The
Chad Bency Chef.

Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
Breaking News, breaking news. Kisleen Maxwell Supreme Court said, no,
We're not going to take up your sex trafficking thing.

Speaker 34 (01:31:34):
So no.

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
So now it's up to Trump. What will he do?
What won't he do? Will he pardner? Will he commute
her sentence? Will he or won't he do any of
those things? I don't know. I'm thinking no, but you
never know, you don't. Will he pardon Diddy? I don't know.
I think there's a pardon there commuting maybe you know,

(01:31:56):
they're aiming for it now. So Trump wants to be
on Ditty's next this album to diss all the people.
Trump's like, let's let's be honest. I want to diss
a lot of people, did he?

Speaker 18 (01:32:06):
How do we do it?

Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
What? How do we go about dissing people? Before I
go and do this, I want to know what kind
of music is it gonna be? Are we gonna sample?
It's it gonna be sampling of the YMC. It's the
only song they'll let me sample. So we'll see about that.
Over two other stuff that matters. Are we getting close
to a deal in the Middle East for some peace.

Speaker 30 (01:32:28):
The deal is set to move in phases, with President
Trump posting the first phase should be completed this week.
Hundreds of thousands of Israelis rallying over the weekend in
support of the deal. But obstacles do remain, not least
the issue of disarming Hamas.

Speaker 2 (01:32:43):
That is a big deal, disarming Hamas. Will it happen?
Won't it happen? Yes? I think so. Devil's always in
the details. I know that Trump and bb got into
it because while he's trying to negotiate this weekend, BIB
was bombing and he's basically he's like, dude, I'm trying
to do everything I can to get this stuff taken

(01:33:03):
care of. Okay, I'm trying to get everything here, sort
it out. We're in the midst of this and you're
bombing them. And then they got on the phone and
Bebie's like, Will, I'm not quite sure. And then Trump's like,
you're never effing happy. Just take the win, which he
can't do. There's a lot of reasons for that. Continue.

Speaker 4 (01:33:20):
The countries of the world, a lot of the countries
surrounding Israel, frankly Muslim, Arab and many others have had
great meetings with him, and it looks like it's working.

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
So we'll wait for a little while to see how
it all turns out. See how it all turns out.
What does it look like. I think it looks like peace,
and I think it's going to take a long while
because it's not a one and done situation. There will
be some hiccups along the way. But you got to
take the win, bro at some point in time. And
the reason he doesn't want to take the win is

(01:33:53):
because he's got issues For those of you who have
not kept up, because you think all that has happened
is the war. Let's go over some issues with baby
at Yahoo. Three giant cases he was indicted in twenty nineteen.
Indicted three major corrupt cases. Case one thousand, they call
it fraud in breach of trust. He and his wife

(01:34:15):
accepted super expensive gifts, cigar, champagne, all kinds of stuff
from wealthy businessmen over time. Case two thousand charges fraud
in breach of trust. He negotiated with the head of
a major newspaper to get favorable coverage in exchange for
limiting the rival newspaper. I want you guys think about
that for a second. He said, Hey, you guys give
me stuff that's great, and say, Phoebe's doing a stand

(01:34:38):
up job. I'll make sure that we limit them in
what they can do report, et cetera. Then you have
case four thousand. It doesn't end there. Bribery, fraud, in
breach of trusts. He's accused of using his power to
a favor a telecom company, Bezek in regulatory matters, in
exchange for the company's favorable media cover of him. Do

(01:35:01):
you see where we're going with this?

Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
Do you so?

Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Yes? Bibi's got it and you've heard us talk about
it here with our man Mike Lions. We've talked about
this on numerous occasions, that the war is keeping him
out of trouble. It's horrible as that sounds. That is
definitely a serious issue to consider. Plus you got the

(01:35:26):
l Hoode Party who not everybody inside of the party
wants the Trump plan at all. They want everything for themselves.
So do I think this is going to get done?
I think there's going to be some ebbs and flows,
but I think there's a possibility starting this week you
could see the returning of some remains of hostages as
well as some potentially bringing back some living hostages. There's still, though,

(01:35:53):
some stuff that has to be worked out. There's no doubt.
And do I trust either side? It's tough to say
you trust either side. It is, especially where Beebe's got
all of these things hanging over them, and you've got
a Lahudbardi who goes out there with the Lique Party,
who goes out there over and over again and says
one thing to us and to the American press and
something different in Hebrew. Meanwhile, this guy, Hi.

Speaker 18 (01:36:15):
I'm Jay Jones, Democrat running for Attorney General of Virginia.
And we're going to talk about public safety. As the
son of prosecutors and the father of two young boys,
I've always believed that keeping our community safe is the
most important responsibility of any Virginia leader. That's why as
a delegate, I increase public safety funding by more than
twenty percent.

Speaker 2 (01:36:34):
Blah blah blah, bar blah brah. If you don't know
who he is, he's running to be AG Jay Jones
of Virginia. Now in twenty twenty two, well, speaking with
a friend of his that was part of the state
legislator and a Republican. So he's a dem she's a Republican.

(01:36:54):
There was a text message going back and forth between
the two about former Speaker of the House Gilbert and
his wife in Virginia. Now, I'm going to play some
of what I did earlier from the text message back
and forth. I disguise my voice to play her part
in the text message, and I just kind of goof

(01:37:17):
around with my voice to make his part. Remember, Jay
Jones here wants to be age of Virginia. So that's
top cop of Virginia. All right, here we go. Remember
these are text messages between him, the AG candidate, and
a former Republican at the state level in Virginia.

Speaker 19 (01:37:39):
They say nice things about everyone.

Speaker 20 (01:37:43):
Lol.

Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Okay, remember that was me playing Carrie right there. Okay,
if those guys die before me, I will go to
their funerals and piss on their graves, send them out
a wash in something j Jones, Three people, two bullets,
Gilbert Hitler, and Polpot. If you don't know who Polpot is,
look him up. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head. Spoiler.

(01:38:06):
Put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people
you know, and he receives both bullets every time. Jay,
please stop lol.

Speaker 19 (01:38:17):
Oh okay, okay, it really bothers me when you talk
about hurting people or wishing death on them. You weren't
simply asking questions.

Speaker 17 (01:38:30):
And you know it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
Remember I'm playing both parts here. So back to Jay,
I genuinely was I wasn't attacking you. I was trying
to understand your logic.

Speaker 19 (01:38:40):
You weren't trying to understand You were talking about hoping
Jennifer Gilbert's children would die.

Speaker 2 (01:38:48):
Yes, I've told you this before. Only when people feel
pain personally do they move on policy.

Speaker 19 (01:38:54):
There isn't. I point blank ask you more than three
times and you dug In that you meant it. I
am honestly questioning a lot today.

Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
I mean, do I think Todd and Jennifer are evil
and that they're breeding little fascists? Yes, more and more
people are asking this guy to step down in his race.
The fact that he wanted and fantasized about Todd Gilbert
and his wife and their kids being murdered because he

(01:39:29):
thought it would get them to act on policy is insane.
And the fact that you would even think that, My god,
we went after Armie Hammer because he thought about eating
one of his wives. It was a fantasy, is his?
They were married? You're thinking you want to be top
cop after that? People like, well, it was a private

(01:39:52):
commer I don't care what it was, a private conversation.
Good God, what is wrong with us? Let me know
what you think. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty
four to twenty three acts Shed Benson shows your ex
your instat coming up a horror movie. Countdown, scary movie.

What will number twenty be? We will do that straight ahead.
Relief factor feel better every single day?

Speaker 13 (01:40:15):
Why?

Speaker 2 (01:40:15):
Because of relief factor? Relief Factor is incredible. I take
it every single day. It's not addictive, okay. It is
something that helps me when it comes to my everyday
aches and pains. It is one hundred percent drug free,
research based formula design to support your body's natural inflammatory response.
It's got amazing things like Omega three, fatty acids, Risveritol,

(01:40:37):
Kuserman Karen, all of this stuff that really helps your
body's inflammatory response through a different metabolic pathway. What's that mean?
It means your body doesn't hurt after your workout. It
means that you can go and do things that you
know would be so painful the next day and you're
gonna feel fine. I swear by it. This stuff is amazing.

(01:41:00):
The three week quick start for just nineteen ninety five.

the difference. You will experience the difference. Head to relief

straight ahead, Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 39 (01:41:35):
Deep States, No Deep doo doo eeah, The Chat Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
As we wrap up the show. We love doing this
each and every year if you're new to the show,
Every single year we count down the scariest movies of
all time, and this year we're going bigger than ever.
Twenty scary movies. We're counting down from twenty to one.
These include movies that or some of them somewhat brand new,
some of them been around forever today. These include movies

(01:42:06):
that you think aren't terrifying, but it's about the cultural
impact as much as the terror. And trust me, there
is plenty of terror. We do it every single year,
and this year it's bigger than ever. It is so awesome.
I am pumped and I am excited. Sit back, relax,
let's get our fright on. Are you guys ready for

(01:42:26):
the Chad mentioned Show Scary Movie Countdown?

Speaker 14 (01:42:31):
Let's do it. The time has come, so prepare yourself
for a journey of fear from the darkest corner of cinema.
The most bone chilling tales ever told. It's the countdown
you've been waiting for. Which movie will take the top spot?

(01:42:55):
How about a fish tail so big because the jaws
open wide? Or the story of a young innocent girl
battling evil.

Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
With some help.

Speaker 27 (01:43:12):
Well, then let's introduce ourselves. I'm Damien Kars and I'm
that devil. Where's Reagan in here with us?

Speaker 14 (01:43:20):
Or the Fright of a madman with a chainsaw. You'll
have to listen to find out.

Speaker 22 (01:43:34):
Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
Number twenty? All right, counted down twenty scariest movies of
all time? Again, cultural impact, impact of the characters themselves.
The genre didn't have an impact on the genre itself
as well as the frights and the scares and the whatnots. Today,
we start with the movie that had a massive cultural impact.

(01:44:00):
In fact, it changed many things. Found footage number one
was massive. So this is nineteen ninety nine. The movie
came out and the settings were the woods of Burkersville,
Merwth and it was about a witch, a Blair witch.

(01:44:22):
The beauty of this movie is it was the first
real found footage kind of film that exploded in ways
that we just couldn't believe There had been some others,
but nothing to this extent. The realism, the way that
this movie just you didn't know was the Blair Witch real?
Was it not real? We know this wasn't probably found

(01:44:44):
footage from somebody who disappeared, But were the rumors of
this thing?

Speaker 4 (01:44:48):
How?

Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
I mean? It was crazy. The beauty of this movie
is they never knew. The actors had no idea what
was going on. Each night they were told this is
what you're going to be doing tomorrow through cryptic notes
from the directors. Then they were left out there to

(01:45:09):
their own devices. It eighty one minutes long, but out
of that there was nineteen hours of raw material that
they took from the movie. There was no gore, there
was none of that stuff. Just fear your mind played

(01:45:31):
the tricks on you. Your mind made you believe that
something was there, and it took the found footage era
into a place that was incredible. Budget was sixty thousand dollars.
They so when they went to I think was sun
Dance and they sold the movie. This is very interesting.

(01:45:51):
The people who got it said, yeah, I don't like
the ending. So they went and shot three different endings
and they said, okay, guys, which ending do you like best?
And they all said, those are all stupid endings. We
like the original ending. The problem with the original ending
is during the freak out and the screaming and the yelling,

(01:46:12):
he accidentally bumped a couple of the cameras and you
didn't get any of it, so they had to go
back and shoot it again the next night. What made
it real, though, was the fact that they really weren't
big time actors, and the people that were in the
movie that weren't the three stars were just locals that

(01:46:32):
they said, here riff on something like this. It was awesome.

Speaker 29 (01:46:36):
I am so so sorry for everything that has happened, because,
in spite of what like says now, it is my
fault because it was my project that I insisted. I
insisted on everything. I insisted that we weren't lost. I

(01:47:02):
insisted that we keep going. I insisted that we walk south.
Everything had to be my way, and this is where
we've ended up. And it's all because of me that
we're here now, hungry, cold and hunted.

Speaker 20 (01:47:29):
I love you, mom.

Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
That was all improvised. Again, there was no real script
outside of Hey, we want you guys to go out there.
We're going to give you notes the night before, little
vague notes. You go and you film your parts, And
they did. They went, they filmed their parts based on
these vague little cues, and that's how you got to

(01:47:55):
the end of the movie. Blair Witch creepy, scary, and amazing,

(01:48:17):
so real that Heather Donahue, who played kind of the
star of the movie, her mother, got condolence letters because
people thought she really died. A movie that changed the genre,
low budget, one of the most profitable movies of all time,
and ushered in a new world of handheld found footage.

(01:48:39):
