(00:10):
Independent thoughts, independent life. Thisis Chad Benson over to you Democrats.
That's right. The RNC finished lastnight. Now it's on to who knows
what. But if I was todescribe last night interesting, surreal, hilarious,

(00:37):
hopeful, frustrating, those are justa few of the words. Oh
and let's not forget this long, longest speech ever last night, the RNC
wrapped up while the eyes were stillon them. The reality is is the
news throughout the building that had beenspreading is what is being reported everywhere.

(01:03):
We're going to touch on that ina little bit. With Biden expected to
not step down, but to endhis campaign sometime this weekend. But before
all of that, Donald Trump, four months from now, we will have
an incredible victory and we will beginthe four greatest years in the history of

(01:25):
our country. Division in our societymust be healed. We must heal it
quickly. As Americans, we arebound together by a single fate and a
shared destiny. We rise together orwe fall apart. I am running to
be president for all of America, not half of America. So tonight,

(01:46):
with faith and devotion, I proudlyaccept your nomination for President of the United
States. Thank you. I thoughthe hit a lot of the right tones
at a certain timesmes and I thinkhim telling the story of what took place
was amazing. I think there wasa lot that missed the mark. I

(02:07):
think it was too long. Welive in a detention span that is that
of a gnat. And I'll alsosay this, he's horrible on the prompter.
He is, he's great when heis Donald Trump. When he's on
the teleprompter, he looks like anactor that is trying to act, if
that makes sense. It's not verynice ched. But when he was himself

(02:32):
and human last night, I thinkyou've got a person that has changed realizing
what took place last week. AndI thought the way he told it was
amazing. I will tell you exactlywhat happened, and you'll never hear it
from me a second time because it'sactually too painful to tell. It was
a warm, beautiful day in ButlerTownship, Pennsylvania. I began speaking behind

(02:59):
me, and to the right wasa large screen displaying a chart of border
crossings. In order to see thechart, I started to turn to my
right when I heard a loud whizzingsound and felt something hit me, really,
really hard on my right ear.I said to myself, wow,
what was that? It can onlybe a bullet, and moved my right

(03:22):
hand to my ear brought it down. My hand was covered with blood the
way he tells it, because it'sDonald Trump. It was just it was
from the heart. It was letme tell you what happened, because not
only was I there, I wasthe person who they were trying to kill.
I immediately knew it was very seriousthat we were under attack, and

(03:44):
in one movement proceeded to drop tothe ground, bullets continuing to fly as
very brave Secret Service agents rushed tothe stage. And they really did.
They rushed to the start. Theseare great people at great risk, I
will tell and pounced on top ofme so that I would be protected.
There was blood pouring everywhere, andyet in a certain way, I felt

(04:09):
very safe because I had God onmy side prior to the shot. If
I had not moved my head atthat very last instant, the assassin's bullet
would have perfectly hid its mark, and I would not be here tonight.
We would not be together again.I think he told it well. Think

(04:30):
that first fifteen to twenty minutes ofthe speech was really good. The rest
of it. It had some highs, it had some lows. We'll talk
about the vision and stuff coming upin a little bit, but it was
also surreal night. I mean, you know, if you've ever seen the
movie Idiocracy, there's a little bitof that. I said, that's Hulk

(04:51):
Hogan ripping his shirt off on stageat the RNC, Brother Kid Rock,
Franklin, Graham, Dana White.I mean, my goodness, me,
We've got so much to talk aboutwhen it comes to this. But then

(05:12):
the reality of well, all ofthis is going on, and the Democrats
are watching this, and the senseof unity of an expanding tent, of
this feeling like the freight train, the momentum, it's all there. The

(05:34):
Democrats are in crisis. Yesterday,Mark Halprin, who I think is arguably
one of the best, if notthe best, in the Beltway in DC
when it comes to understanding, knowing, getting everything that's going on there,

(05:58):
and he's right ninety nine send ofthe time. And Mark Halprin reported yesterday
that the decisions already been made forJoe Biden. President Biden has agreed to
step down as a Democratic nominee MayWhat happened as early as this weekend.
A speech has been drafted for him. He will continue on as president is

(06:18):
his intention. He also will not, i'm told, endorse Vice President Harris
as his successor. They're hoping thathe will endorse an open process in which
the convention will be open to VicePresident Harris and a few other candidates in
Chicago to pick the Democrat nominee forpresident. That is not a shocker this

(06:38):
weekend. That is a possibility.Yeah, what happens in DC is a
they want you to come to thedecision that they want you to come to
the powers that be, and thepowers that be are going to nudge you.

(07:00):
They are going to kind of usheryou along. And then if that
doesn't work, well, guess whatthe floodgates are going to open. Like
they always say, the drip, drip, drip becomes a tsunami. And
that's what's happening. Let me tellyou what's going on in Biden's mind.

(07:24):
You're not gonna hear this anywhere else. Biden is going through the five stages
of grief when it comes to hispolitical life, and normally the five stages
of grief that came up with itLong Day was it a psychologist in Switzerland
came up with it when people wereterminally ill. And if you look at

(07:46):
it, it's over the years. It's it's kind of been there for everything
people have struggled with anything that iscoming to an end. First, denial,
denial, big time. He's hadplenty of that. Anger, well,
he's had plenty of that as well. He's been angry that you would

(08:09):
even ask the question Angry the campaigns, he would ask the question anger over
and over again, bargaining, giveme another shot. I'm gonna get out
there. I'm going to show youguys. Let me show you I can
still make this. Don't you worrythat's going on. Depression. You've seen
it in the interviews. You've seenit in the interviews with his people on

(08:33):
the campaign for him is spokespeople, and now finally acceptance. That is what's
happening with Biden and his people. Now it is an understanding of this isn't
going to get any better. Itis over, and we have to accept

(08:54):
that history time. When it comesto potentially what is going to happen this
weekend, we have so much totalk about Trump's vision. We're going to
go over that. Last night someof the highlights, and yes there's some
of the low lights as well.We also have a Twitter poll up and

(09:16):
I want to hear from you. What'd you think of the speech last night?
Now? The poll pretty simple,Okay, it was great, it
was good. Average miss the mark. Right now, thirty nine point seven
say it missed the mark. Ifeel that way as well. I think
there are really good parts, andI think there are also some things that

(09:39):
missed the mark. And if you'rea Trump fan, if you're if you're
somebody who loves Trump, it wasthe greatest speech of all time, because
I've seen some of that. Ifyou're the average person who likes Trump,
follows politics, it was okay.It was good at times, even at

(10:01):
times compelling, and other times missedthe mark. But the one thing I've
heard from most people, it isway too long. The other thing we're
following today is outage globally ugly.Airline flights, banks, hospital systems,
at media outlets all take an offlineovernight. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike says the issue

(10:22):
is not a cyber attack. Instead, says ABC's Mike Debuski, it's tied
to a software update that cybersecurity firmCrowdStrike sent out to Windows computers overnight.
The faulty update appears to send computersand servers into a recovery boot loop,
essentially starting the computer up over andover again, but never logging in.

(10:43):
CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz posted on socialmedia that this is not a security incident
or a cyber attack, and thata fix has been deployed. He also
says Mac and Linux computers are unaffected. Some elective surgeries at hospitals are being
canceled. Britain's national health results soaffected. Some airlines slowly coming back online,

(11:03):
but passengers should expect cancelations and delaysall day. On top of that,
it is also affecting other things nineto one point one, several other
things because it's kind of morphing throughoutand moving throughout. So we'll be keeping
an eye on this throughout the show. Three two, three, five,

You're listening to the Chad Benson Show. It is Friday. It has
been a hell of a week.Let's take a listen back to so much
of what went on this week, and it was just a tip of the
iceberg. Take a look at whathappened. I want to say he was

(13:28):
a loner more because he was justhe was just boldie. But he was
buoyed so much. I mean,it's almost as if if Donald Luck has
this uh lucky rabbit for you,I'm not a hundred dollars walking in my
hole. I know how I'll sayit didn't. Barny's burning a hold right
through my barget in and do myscam. I'm mony morning, I'll be

(13:52):
It's fine, I'm I'm done mymotor wait again. The image of the
former president raising his fist and sayingthe words fight, fight, Fight,
America goes on. We go forward. Now we are strong. I got
no sugar baby down mood. She'ssitting really rocked in angle. Look at

(14:16):
circles. We'll be working all on, doing all the all. It's fine
that fire my motor. That buildingin particular has a slope roof at its
highest point, and so you knowthere's a safety factor that would be considered

(14:37):
there that we wouldn't want to putsomebody up on a slope roof. Republicans
are energized, Democrats to do moralized. You took that stage, you would
get food off the stage. Youwant to talk about a clashless douchebag,
that's Matt Gates right up, brotherhurt anyone, Wendy a thirtie slowly junity

(15:16):
yesterday shooting and Donald Trump's brawling.Pennsylvania calls on all of us to take
a step back because I named ayeah, sturing defense for black man.
President Biden is isolating a Delaware aftertesting positive for COVID that I'm overwhelmed with
gratitude to say I officially accept yournomination to be Vice president of the United
States of America. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty

(15:39):
four to twenty three at Chad BensonShow, It's your text line right here
on the Chad Benson Show. It'snow over to the Democrats. What are
they going to do? Right? So we we We've talked a bit about
Trump's speech last night. Did ithit the mark? Did it miss the
mark? Too? Damn long?I'll tell you that said it again.

(16:00):
It's two damn long. Did hehumanize himself? Some people think he did,
some people think he didn't. CNNtalked to a bunch of undecided voters
last night. Some were impressed thegrade you gave it. I gave it
an A and why'd you give ita nack? The thing I was looking
for was a change, and Ifelt I heard that change in his voice.

(16:22):
I was looking for his discussion ongetting unity together in the country as
well as the border control and inflation. You give it what grape? I
gave it an A? And why'dyou give it an a? Because it's
Donald Trump? He was who healways has been, and even though with
the incident that happened Saturday, hestill came out as himself. Yeah,

(16:47):
some people gave it an A,some people gave it a. Well,
I'll tell you in a minute, because we put a poll up as well.
You can take it at Chad Benson'sshow. Surprising number of people have
chimed it on the poll and whatthey say about it. A lot of
other stuff to get to and yes, it's now over to you Democrats.
What you're going to do to topthe chaos and the fun of the Republican

(17:07):
Convention? Chad Benson, Joe,Chad Benson, Joe, Independent Thoughts,

(17:57):
Independent Life, This is chadds.Let me see what you read up kid

(18:19):
Rock last night, I loved mesome kid, always have. I saw
a lot of people like this wholething was this toxic masculinity. It was
Let me tell you something about Trump, and he's a genius when it comes
to marketing. I mean, youwant to talk about diversity. Amber Rose
gave a speech this week last night, Kid Rock, Dana White, Franklin

(18:47):
Graham, and this guy. Whathappened last week when they took a shot
at my hero and they tried tokill the next president of the United States.
It was enough, I said,Left Trump Amania, run wild Brother,
left Trump Omania roll again. LetTrump Amania, nke naka Gray again.

(19:18):
It was surreal, it was amazing, It was at times hysterical,
but energy, kids, Energy, and momentum matter, and you got the
Hulks to ripping the shirt off talkingabout you almost killed my brother. I
didn't come here as Hulk Hogan, but I just had to give you a

(19:41):
little taste. My name is TerryBolea, and as an entertainer, I
tried to stay out of politics. But after everything that's happened to our country
over the past four years and everythingthat happened last weekend, I can no
longer stay silence. I'm here tonightbecause I want the world to know that

(20:04):
Donald Trump is a real American hero, and I'm proud to support my hero
as the next president of this UnitedStates. An energy, momentum, all
of that stuff matters. The visionfor America, of course it matters.

(20:26):
But Trump built that energy on Mondaywhen he walked into the building, and
it never ever ever stopped. Itjust builds and built and built. And
then last night there was just thismassive, incredible explosion and people could feel

(20:48):
it. Van Jones, this spiritthat this guy has. You guys,
think this guys, he's drunk. He's not. This whole thing is like
this and hey, I'm on thepay guy. The last time I was
in a con vision that felt likethis was Obama two thousand and eight.
There's something happening headline youe yeah, you just wrote a headline. No,

(21:14):
he gets it. He had asmile on his face. You couldn't help
but have a smile on your facebecause it was infectious. That being said,
what's the substance of it all?So Trump laid out his vision for
America, and a lot of it. You throw it all up against the
wall. We're going to solve everythingand all your problems, et cetera,

(21:34):
et cetera. By the way, that ain't happening. It isn't you know
that? And I know that. But I will say I like some of
his vision. Some of his visionis wishful thinking. It was. It
was funny though, last night whenhe talked about curing cancer and Alzheimer's things

(21:55):
of that nature. How many peopletweeted at me, Oh, well,
that's just ridiculously to him. AndI'm like, well, did you do
the same thing when Biden was goingfor the cure for everything? No,
you didn't, because it's partisanship andI expect that. And the more angry
tweets and texts I got last night, the more you can start to realize
that that momentum, that excitement,They understand that the freight train is here,

(22:22):
it's rolling, and that is therealization that you can do nothing to
stop Trump. At this moment intime. Under our leadership, the United
States will be respected again. Nonation will question our power, no enemy
will doubt our might. Our borderswill be totally secure, our economy will
soar. We will return law inorder to our streets, patriotism to our

(22:47):
schools, and importantly, we willrestore peace, stability, and harmony all
throughout the world. But to achievethis future, we must first rescue our
nation from failed and even in competentleadership. Yeah. Look, I think
he hit the note on several occasions. I think there was some stuff not

(23:08):
talked about. They stayed away fromabortion, which was interesting. Franklin Graham
didn't, but they did. Theystayed away from abortion last night, and
you know a lot of people itwas the stuff that wasn't said. He
touched on a stolen election only afew times, because that's Trump. And

(23:30):
once he gets off script, whichI think that's what makes Trump great is
he can't get off script and hecan do his things and he can riff,
and that's when he's more real. When he reads, like I said,
he's very stiff. It's like watchinga bad actor because reading off a
teleprompter and making it natural and followingalong, it's a tough thing to do.

(23:51):
We have an inflation crisis that ismaking life unaffordable, ravaging the incomes
of working and low income families, and crushing our people. We also have
an illegal immigration crisis to massive invasionat our southern border that has spread misery,
crime, poverty, disease, anddestruction to communities all across our land.

(24:12):
So tonight I make this pledge.I will end the devastating inflation crisis,
immediately bring down interest rates, andlower the costs of energy. We
will drill, baby drill. Yeah, that was a lot less A drill
baby drill was big time. Inflation, Illegal immigration was a big part of

(24:33):
it. Crime, the things thatRepublicans want to hear him say and look,
inflation is a nightmare. We recognizeit. It's the invisible tax that
is kicking you straight in the grundle. But you can't snap your fingers and
fix it all. I think everybodyunderstands that one of the things is not
talked about is he went after debt. He goes, look, we're gonna
bring this debt down, which Iwant to hear. But in reality,

(25:00):
Republicans have been just as fiscally irresponsibleas the Democrats when they have the opportunity
to control the purse ninety three executiveactions to throw open our border to the
world. The entire world is pouringinto our country because of this very foolish
administration. The greatest invasion in historyis taking place right here in our country,
not just from South America, butfrom Africa, Asia, the Middle

(25:23):
East. It is an invasion, indeed, and this administration does absolutely nothing
to stop them. They're coming fromprisons, they're coming from jails, They're
coming from mental institutions and insane asylums. I will end the illegal immigration crisis
by closing our border to keep ourfamilies safe. The Republican platform promises to

(25:45):
launch the largest deportation operation in thehistory of our country. Yeah, that's
not having the way you think itis. You say the things that you
This is our vision, and here'swhat the reality is going to look like.
Our vision is we're going to doall of these things. Reality,
as we've always said, if you'relucky, you can do one or two

(26:07):
of them, and that's a bigif you're lucky. I think the immigration
thing will be big. He's notdeporting ten million people. It's just not
happening. First of all, Idon't even think we've got the money to
do it. But that kind oftalk does something. Oh yeah, it
makes everybody a racist. Chat. No, what it does is it also
sends a message to other people thinkingabout coming here is there's a new sheriff

(26:30):
in town, and this guy isn'tletting you come in. The other guy
rang the dinner bell and said comeon down. This one says enter at
your own risk. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty
four to twenty three at Chad Bensonshows your Twitter tweet at his texta program.
Meanwhile, everybody knows what's happening withthe Republicans. But the question isn't

(26:56):
if at this point, but whenis Biden going to step away from his
campaign and not seek reelection. ThePresident could actually get out of the race
this weekend. I've had some conversationshere with top Democrats names that people will
know who put the over under afive days to give the president time to

(27:17):
do a dismount of some kind aspeech, a big event. But this
is happening. It is going downthe hill. The boulder is rolling.
You know. You start with ChuckSchumer and Hakeem Jeffrey's meeting in person.
You then have Nancy Pelosi with pollnumbers. You have Jeffy Katzenberg, the
campaign finance guy, saying checks aredry, there's nothing coming in. And

(27:38):
I think that this is all addingup to the realization that President Biden will
not be the nominee and it'll happensooner rather than later. Yeah, sooner
rather than later. Mark Halprin, several others reporting it's going to happen this
weekend. I thought it would happenmaybe this weekend, early next week.

(28:00):
I think maybe because the desperation, right, you know, the acceptance is
coming, but how do you exitgracefully? And in doing so, also,
maybe you want to have that onemore throw. Let's see what the
polls look like. But the pollingthey're doing now, from what I'm hearing
from my sources, are saying nomore polling with Biden. All the polling
is with Harris. But Mark Alprinis reporting he is not going to endorse

(28:30):
anyone, and we're going to talkabout that next hour. So this will
be very interesting to see. Itis a historic week from an assassination attempt
to the RNC to the potential forthe current president to step away and not
seek reelection. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four

Chad Benson Show, serving up talkradio medium, rare and dripping with irony.
It's Chad Benson. The storm ChasingSummer blockbuster twisters bloods into theaters this
weekend. You think you can Disrupta Tornado? A sequel to the nineteen

(30:22):
ninety six original, which is aboutan all new group of scientists and adrenaline
junkies. Glenn Powell stars alongside DaisyEdgar Jones and Anthony Ramos, and Powell
says all of the extras on thefilm were actual real life Stormchaser. The
first thing that I noticed was sheer, giddy, childlike excitement. The way
they look at the sky and theway they look at weather is just it's

(30:44):
so Infectious Twisters opens this weekend andit's expected to top the box office.
Yeah, movies are still rolling out. Drama is still out there. Fun
is still out there to be had, which is a wonderful thing in the
movie theaters because we got enough dramain the real world. This week has
not been a kind week to celebrities. Shannon Doherty passed away doctor Ruth Right,

(31:10):
Richard Simmons. Yesterday, a comedygenius passed away, Bob Newhart.
Bob Newhart's publicist Jerry Digney says theiconic comedian died after a series of short
illnesses at his home in Los Angeles. Newhart was perhaps best known for two
very popular CBS sitcoms, The ShowNew Heart in the eighties and The Bob
Newhart Show in the seventies. Ican be spontaneous if you give me a

(31:30):
week or two, you know,to plan it out. His nineteen sixty
comedy album, The Button Down Mineof Bob Newhart won in three Grammys,
including Album of the Year and BestNew Artist. It was his first comedy
album, and it also topped thesales charts in recent years. He won
an Emmy for guest starring on TheBig Bang Theory. Bob Newhart was ninety
four. Yeah, he was.I loved Bob Newhart even as a kid.
We love to watch the new HeartShow. We love to watch the

(31:52):
Bob Newhart Show. You know.It was just a remember with my dad
and I watching it, and itwas just it was so much fun sitting
around watching new Heart because it wasjust something about the way he delivered stuff.
And I love the fact that hewas just very non excitable. If

(32:13):
I were to sum up in oneword what I do, it's probably I'm
a minimalist. I like to saythe most I can with the least.
You did that. Lou Dobbs diedyesterday as well, conservative commentator, seventy
eight years old. So again, not a great week for celebrities, not
a great week for the current president, for sure. The drama continues there

(32:40):
and it is drama. My goodness, me is it drama? And what's
going to happen? Here's the thingthat happens in DC. They want it
to be your idea. You shouldsee the light. You should see the
light. What do you mean,Well, you're going to give you every

(33:02):
thing we can, all the tools, all the information for you to make
the decision that we know you shouldmake. But do you know you should
make it? Do you understand ifyou should make a certain decision or are
you going to stick to it?Because if you stick to it, those

(33:22):
rumors are going to become floods, and the leaks will be huge, and
then instead of you making the decisionto step away, will eventually force you
out through leaks, and every twentyminutes something new is coming out. Former

(33:44):
President Obama has told allies recently thatBiden's chances of winning have greatly diminished,
interesting choice of words, and thatBiden needs to seriously consider the path forward.
According to The Washington Post, itfollows CNA's reporting that President Obama and
former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke aboutthe challenges of Biden's staying in the race.
We can report that key Democrats anda Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House

(34:06):
Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries have had bluntconversations with President Biden, relaying Democrats' concerns
about his ability to win in November. Yeah, I think we understand that
that, based on the polls thatwe're seeing, is not good and the
polls are showing it I mean,Trump right now is up five points nationally,

(34:29):
which isn't significant because we don't pickour president based on the popular vote.
The fact that he could get thepopular vote on top of everything else
says a lot. It does.So the drama is going to continue through

(34:50):
the weekend. We talked about itearlier. Mark Halpern started reporting it and
he is probably the best in thebusiness, with the most connection inside of
DC in the Beltway than just aboutanybody else. And when he starts talking
about certain things in certain ways, you better believe that it is as spot

(35:12):
on as you're going to get.And he said this weekend he's going to
drop out. So the drama continues. You don't need to go to the
movies, kids, because there's dramain real life at Chad Benson's Show.
Is your Twitter and your Instagram textthe program three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four twenty three. That is your text line right
here on the Chad Benson Show. You can also take the poll that we

(35:38):
put up on Twitter. And likeI said, it's surprising. It is
very surprising. Talked about a littlewhile ago. Trump's speech. Give me
your opinion. It was great,it was good. Average miss the mark.
Forty percent of you say it missedthe mark. I think it started
out well, but it was toolong for me. And here's something else,
and I think that we need tounderstand this. Trump is not good
at doing the teleprompt He's great atriffing, he's good at crowd work.

(36:02):
The teleprompter, he's always struggled withthat one. Let me know what you
think about the speech. A lotof other things to get to next hour,
including the global outage affecting so manythings, and it seems to be
growing. We talk about that alot of other stuff. It is the
Chad Benson Show. This is theChad Benson Show, Independent Thoughts, Independent

(36:49):
life. This is Chad Benson. The RNC is coming gone over to you,
DNC, and quite frankly, theDNC we don't know anything about.
The next convention is the Democratic Convention. It's in a couple of weeks.
We have no idea it's going tobe at the top of the ticket at
all, or if going there, there will be no ticket and it'll be

(37:14):
decided there. Last night, Trumpput a bow on it. I thought
his speech was too damn long.I'm gonna tell you that right now.
Some of you have already been snappingat me. It was the main thing.
It was great. Other views likeit's the worst thing ever. You
know what it was, it's toodamn long. It was. I thought

(37:39):
it humanized him at points, andI said yesterday, this is what it's
gonna look like. He's still gonnabe Trump, still gonna be a fighter,
but there's also going to be adifferent side that we haven't seen.
And I think we got all ofthat last night in Auch, longer package

(38:00):
than I thought we were going toget, but I thought it hit the
right notes. At times, Ithought others of it missed the mark.
But the enthusiasm, you can't takethat away. That crowd, the people,
the energy, you could feel it. I have friends who are there,
like, dude, it's the craziestthing in the world. It is
something I have never felt before. There's an energy and you could feel it.

(38:23):
You could. Four months from now, we will have an incredible victory
and we will begin the four greatestyears in the history of our country.
Division in our society must be healed. We must heal it quickly. As
Americans, we are bound together bya single fate and a shared destiny.

(38:45):
We rise together or we fall apart. I am running to be president for
all of America, not half ofAmerica. So tonight, with faith and
devotion, I proudly accept your nominationfor President of the United States. Thank
you, and away it went. Now again, put a bow on it.

(39:08):
You had the hul Cogan Kid,Rock, Dana White, and in
between Franklin Graham. It was.It was surreal and hilarious and a marketing
strategy that was amazing. When hestood there and like the curtain thing opened

(39:34):
up and in bright white lights ona black background, it said Trump.
It was awesome. There was everybodywanted to know in his words, describe
what happened, And I think hedid a hell of a job with that.
I will tell you exactly what happened, and you'll never hear it from

(39:57):
me a second time because it's actuallytoo painful to tell. It was a
warm, beautiful day in Butler Townshipin Pennsylvania. I began speaking. Behind
me and to the right was alarge screen displaying a chart of border crossings.
In order to see the chart,I started to turn to my right
when I heard a loud whizzing soundand felt something hit me really really hard

(40:24):
on my right ear. I saidto myself, Wow, what was that?
It can only be a bullet, and moved my right hand to my
ear brought it down. My handwas covered with blood. Any you think
about this, you're telling the mostharrowing story of your life in front of
thousands of people there and millions ofpeople watching. I immediately knew it was

(40:50):
very serious that we were under attack, and in one movement, proceeded to
drop to the ground, bullets continuingto fly as very brave Secret Service agents
rushed to the stage, and theyreally did. They rushed to the start.
Is there great people at great risk, I will tell you, and
bounced on top of me so thatI would be protected. There was blood

(41:13):
pouring everywhere, and yet in acertain way, I felt very safe because
I had God on my side priorto the shot. If I had not
moved my head at that very lastinstant, the assassin's bullet would have perfectly
hit its mark, and I wouldnot be here tonight, we would not

(41:35):
be together. I think the waythat he laid it out for everybody was
real and it was raw, andI think he did a hell of a
job. And you could tell theemotion that he was feeling from the love
of the crowd, and that startedMonday and it never really slowed down.

(41:59):
It didn't. So I gave himan a for some of those things.
The rest of it, the vision, I think he laid out some good
stuff. I think he He doesn'tdo well on the teleprompter. I'm gonna
I've always said that, and thatis an art learning how to act out,

(42:22):
if you will, the things thatyou're reading without it looking like you're
reading. Legal immigration huge part oflast night. Inflation a huge part of
last night. But it's over now. Now it's back to the campaign.

(42:42):
It's back to the day to day, and there's also an unknown, and
that unknown is what's going to happenthis weekend. Reports everywhere that it's over
for Biden and the campaign. MarkHalprin reported it yesterday. It was going
to be this week weekend, andwe're going to get to the decision of

(43:05):
Biden and the process that he's goingthrough coming up in a little bit.
But will it be Harris. Thebelief is that Vice President Harris is already
looking at potential running mates to goto Chicago with a full ticket, including
one possibility Andy Basheer, the governorof Kentucky, and perhaps the governor of
Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro. Other possiblecandidates who are being talked about include Gavin

(43:27):
Newsom, the governor of California, perhaps Gregen Whitmere, and again the vice
president running on the first ballot. The regular delegates would be allowed to vote
under this agreement that's being talked aboutamongst the President and high level Democrat officials.
And that is interesting because he isnot going to endorse her. According
to Mark Albert, he wants itto be an open, kind of contested

(43:53):
three or four people throw their namein the hat, her being one.
Obviously, she will kind of startoff in the lead, but can she
maintain it? And it's about thosedelegates and they're still his. If Joe
Biden stays in the race, there'sgoing to continue to be this angst over
whether that is the right idea ornot. And they still have a couple

(44:13):
of weeks to make another move, another decision. Functionally speaking, only Joe
Biden deciding to get out would openup that nomination for someone else to capture,
because those delegates, or all JoeBiden delegates, because he did.
He won those primaries. He didwin those. So you've got delegates and
super delegates, super awesome, wayamazing delegates compared to the regular ones.

(44:34):
So they can't vote in the firstone, they can vote in the second
one. The thing that's interesting isthe battle of the money, because money
matters in more ways than I thinkpeople realize, and that money situation has
dried up. Jeffrey Katzenberg has toldhim it is no longer there. We

(45:00):
don't have any money. No moremoney's coming in. Nobody's writing checks.
George Clooney I said last week whenhe came out absolutely devastating that he stole
thirty million dollars from a bunch ofpeople with a guy who is not all
there. We talked about that comingout after you took all the money,

(45:22):
and oh, by the way, this guy can't go on anymore. Who
what you saw on the debate waswho he is. But what do you
do with that one hundred million dollarwar chest? Lawsuits are already ready to
be filed because if it is Kamala, there are a lot of people out
there on both sides of the aisle. Constitutionally, you said you may not

(45:46):
be able to give the money toher the way that a lot of people
think, because that money was markedfor a ticket with Joe Biden and Kamala
Harris, not Kamala Harris and JoshShapiro, Andy Basher, Mark Kelly,
and as we all know, moneymatters. The other side of it is

(46:09):
she's pulling okay against Trump better, absolutely better than he is. But everybody
has a plan until they get hit. So until you're under the microscope,
till that light flicks on in thedarkness and they can see everything, until

(46:30):
you're put in a situation where thereis going to be pressure that you haven't
felt. How do you react? How do you react? How does she
react under that kind of pressure?Remember she ran for president and didn't make
it to Iowa, fell flat onher face and for president, and people

(47:00):
took a look and said, no, but this is different because you were
running for president against other Democrats. Now you have to go up against somebody
who's got all the momentum in theworld right now, just survived an assassination
attempt, is bringing the Republican Partyback together again. They all seem to

(47:23):
be rowing in the same direction. And now you have to go up against
that kind of juggernaut. It isdifferent this time because you now are the
one who, if you will, for lack of a better term, are

(47:43):
the man, the leader in theclubhouse, the person. That pressure is
totally different than when you're chasing something. I love golf. The opens going
on this weekend, it's the BritishOpen, the Championship. You ask golfers.
Different being in second place chasing downnumber one than having the pressure of

(48:07):
being number one and trying to holdon to it. Three two, three,
five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three Atchad Menson Show's your

arguably the biggest ever. Going totalk a little bit about that.

(49:45):
to the Chad Benson Show interview.President Biden said that he would only consider
dropping out of the race if adoctor told him he had a medical condition.
President Biden has tested positive for COVID. On the bright side, it's
the first positive news he's had inmoney I've tried. Biden has COVID Luckily
he can't spread it because Democrats havebeen distancing themselves from him since the debates.

(50:06):
Yep, Biden had fatigue, acough, and brain fog and then
he got COVID. Thankfully, Bidenis expected to make a full recovery and
as doctor said that, he'll beback to sixty percent in no time.
Oh, it's brutal for Joe.It's going to make that decision sooner rather
than later, or the decision isgoing to be made for him. I

(50:29):
think everybody recognizes that, no matterhow hard they push it, and you're
hearing that Trump's folks and the Republicansare doing everything they can to keep them
on the ballot. They don't wanthim to go because they're looking at the
numbers, and the numbers aren't verygood. Speaking of not very good,

(50:50):
if you're flying somewhere today, ifyou are using Microsoft three sixty five or
certain things inside of Microsoft, there'san issue. Airlines, airports, banks
and media companies in Australia all experiencingoutages and disruptions. In the UK,
Sky News reporting it's not able tobroadcast due to the issue. Gatwick Airport

(51:12):
and the London Stock Exchange also affected. Flights in Berlin are now grounded.
Airports in Spain are also reporting issues. US cybersecurity company crowd Strike has admitted
to being responsible for the air andis working to correct it. That's ugly.
People aren't very happy as you wouldimagine. Let's say it is a
Microsoft's gleach. I don't know whatit's all about, but it's frustrating.

(51:34):
We did hear them say they weregoing to do some manual boarding and try
to do it manually to get everybodychecked in. When I got here,
there was a lot of chaos aboutan hour ago, and they kind of
told me there was a ground stopand I kind of asked what that meant,
and I don't know. I didn'tget a lot of clerity, but
I am going to have to cancelmy flight and actually get on a new
flight a completely different airport. Yeah, so what's happened? Apparently, and

(51:58):
this is apparently crowd strike did asoftware update that had a glitch. It
updated and the update wasn't very good. There is a silver lining. Fortunately,
this is happening in the overnight hourswhen there aren't too many flights taking
off. Three two, three, five, three eight twenty four to twenty
three at Chadmentton Show. Is yourTwitter right here on the Chadbenton Show.

(52:21):
Want to hear from you. Airlinesnow working as quickly as they can so
they can begin their mornings as smoothas possible. But right now certainly issues
for American Delta United. Yeah, and on top of that, Amazon's having
issues Visa ADT security among others, and it's kind of going into waves.

(52:49):
Jake Tapper last night, ooh man, Biden is self isolating after testing positive
for COVID. We're told to heartop Democrats tell at President Biden is like
Bruce Willis's character in the movie TheSixth Sense. He is the only one
who seems unaware of his grim fate. His grim fate. No, he's
not going to die. Well,we're all going to die, so but

(53:10):
recognize that. And I want tobring something up when we come back,
because it takes more than you know, thirty seconds or a minute to get
through what he is going through inhis mind, because he's going through something
that some people go through when theyget sick and face their mortalent. And

(53:32):
you can tell that is happening, absolutely is happening with him and recognizing that
he is at the end of hispolitical life. Three two, three,
five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson's show,

(53:52):
to Twitter, your Instagram, alot of other stuff to get to including
our buddy Zach Abraham. It's goingto join the program and talk about can
this selection and the run up tothe election, can it have an effect
on the stock market and the economy. We talk about that, a lot
of other things to get to followus across all of our social media.
If you missing a show, grabthe podcast. Chad Benson, Joe Then

(54:15):
Chad Benson Joe, Independent Thoughts,Independent life. This is Chad Benson.

(54:42):
Not if but when Joe Biden willstep away from the campaign? Not if
but when. Grief there's five stagesof it. Now, normally when you
talk about the five stages of grief, it's people who are coming to terms
with immortality. They're suffering from adisease and it's going to end their life.

(55:02):
But it's not just about mortality. It's about a lot of different things
in life, political life. ForBiden, he's going through the five stages
of grief with that, and asa human being. I mean again,
these are some of the things we'vetalked about the human side of it,

(55:27):
understanding that not only does he understandthat the end is here for him politically,
he's also understanding that the struggles withhis mental side, if you will,
because of whatever he has that willfind out somewhere down the road.
Having lucid moments, understanding that thingsaren't going the way they're supposed to,

(55:49):
and then understanding that you're in overtime in life, that all the things
that you've done in the past, the fifty plus years of service to America,
the Center or vice president and president, that's it. And when you
put yourself in a situation where thatis everything you are, when that goes

(56:09):
away, that's tough, and that'sa tough thing to deal with, especially
when you're in a position where you'restruggling already with a lot of other things.
Denial. They've denied the hell outof it, haven't they. Anger.
I've heard a lot of anger fromJoe and a bunch of other people
snapping back. And I'm not justtalking about Joe. I'm talking about the

(56:30):
campaign and politics in general. Bargaining. They've been bargaining behind closed doors on
zoom calls, on everything they possiblycan be on to try to get people
to understand what can I do?What can I do depression. We've seen
some of those interviews, We've seensome of the resignation of the people that

(56:52):
speak for the president through the campaign, and now what we're hearing is acceptance.
Earlier today morning, Joe I willsay, also, you got a
lot of information yesterday. There's alot of information, a lot of off
the record conversations, a lot ofplans being made about President Biden moving toward

(57:19):
getting out of the race this weekend. That stopped when there was some very
specific reporting later in the afternoon,Mark Halprin being very specific on some reporting
that other reporters, newspapers and networkshad parts of that reporting, but not

(57:39):
all of it together. I thinkat that point is when we started to
see the campaign pushing back because whatpeople close to Joe Biden have said all
along is he's a man of greatpride, he can be stubborn and tough.
Don't back him into the corner. If he's going to do this,

(57:59):
let him do it his way onhis time frame. And that's understandable.
The acceptance that the decision has tobe made, that's his like you said,
these five stages of grieve, understandingthat this is coming to end.
This thing that you've loved doing, this thing that you were it's over.

(58:21):
It's done, and you've got toaccept that. And they have tried to
save it, try to bargain withthe Democrats, have been pissed and angry.
They've done all of the things, and the acceptance is there, and
how do you bow out gracefully? And that's where we are in this situation.

(58:43):
The reality is he has no choicebecause not only is he struggling with
all the things we have seen throughthe interviews, the debate, the things
that most Americans who follow any politicscan see with their own eyes. Not

(59:06):
only have we seen all that, take that off the table and throw the
other thing on the table. Moneydon't have any The biggest issue, immediate
issue is money. The donors havestopped giving money and it's almost completely ground

(59:28):
down to a halt. The storyof Jeffrey Katzenberg telling President Biden, this
got eclipsed from the COVID diagnosis. So that is a problem. That is
a problem. So if they can'tforce you out on the polls, if

(59:50):
they can't leak enough stuff to getyou out, which is what they've been
doing. That's what Mark Alprin said. It starts, this is a drip,
and then it suddenly it happens.Well, if none of that's going
to work, the money side ofit will. And that is what's happening
now. We said yesterday you willrun for president forever if you have all

(01:00:14):
the money you can have. Butthe minute it dries up, you're gone.
The minute nobody's giving anymore, it'sover. The minute you can't make
campaign speeches somewhere because you can't affordto get there, can't afford to pay
your staff, it's over. Sothe acceptance, now that it's over,

(01:00:38):
how does he come to terms withthat? How does he go out on
his own? And the problem withall of this, And I've said for
over a year and go back andlisten, he's not going to be the
nominee. He's not going to bethe nominee. My sources are telling me
these things. He's not going tobe the nominee. Going out in a
way that he chose at his time, without being pushed. That went away

(01:01:09):
during the debate and subsequently the fewother interviews that happened after that, that
went away where it was. It'syour choice now on how you do it.
But you're doing it as opposed toout of nowhere. You come out

(01:01:30):
and say, I've decided to dothis for the better end of the country.
Everybody knows you're doing it now becauseyou have no choice. I mean,
imagine having to give up not onlythe presidency, but understanding that something

(01:01:52):
you've been for your entire life isgoing away. Ed Kotch, the old
mayor of New York City. Peoplearound him used to say, Ed believes
as long as the cameras were there, he was going to stay alive.
But the minute the cameras went away, he was going to die. And
when your ego is so big,and anybody who's running for president you have

(01:02:19):
to have a giant ego, ithas to be your world in your life.
Well, that's going away now.And while you may love your kids
and you may love all that, this is something that is that is you.
So you got to come to termswith that. Three two, three,
five, three eight, twenty fourtwenty three at Chad Benson's show,
as your Twitter tweet at us textthe program. Earlier just a little while

(01:02:43):
ago, Mark Halprin does these reallycool two way calls with hit Sean Spicer
on Todd Hogan who or Tim Hogan, who's Democratic strategist, but updating what
he's hearing, and he was theone who broke the news yesterday that's going
to happen this week. Let metell you about my reporting and just to
extend some of it. First ofall, there's a lot of pressure on

(01:03:07):
Joe Biden in the wake of myreporting to endorse Kamala Harris. There are
people around Ha'amala Harris who think it'snuts, and I do too, because
the last thing she needs is tobe a creature of Joe Biden, the
creature of a backroom deal, thecreature of the Biden Harris record on issues
that Republicans will attack her on.And so there are people around her who

(01:03:27):
say, we don't need it.I can't find anybody who's going to run
against her. Gavin Newsom's not goingto run against her. Governor Shapiro is
not going to run against her.Governor Pritzker is not going to run against
her. Cooper's not going to runagainst her. So I think, as
I wrote this morning, this couldbe a contested election that's uncontested. But
they want, apparently to have sometransparency, openness as if hey, we're

(01:03:50):
throwing we're allowing everybody to put theirname in here or not everybody sure they're
going to do it, just sowe said we did this in a way
where it was democratic, if thatmakes sense. But not endorsing her,
that's interesting. I mean, thatis interesting if he didn't I understand the

(01:04:13):
whole thought of we want this tobe democratic. And at the same time,
she is your VP, and youknow how much that pissed you off
when Obama didn't endorse you and wentwith Hillary. Now he's supposedly not going
to endorse anybody, and he'll getbehind who's ever on the ticket. That

(01:04:45):
would piss you off if you're herthree two, three, five, three

(01:06:35):

Zach Abraham, ch investment officer BoardCapital, joins the program, friend
of the show, sponsor the show, first and foremost, all kinds of
chaos going on in the political world. And I get a lot of this
because obviously haven't been in the businessat one time. People ask does it
have an effect? It does havean effect, because we're almost that they'd

(01:06:58):
like to call that, Zach, the undred daymark towards the election, and
God only knows where we could betomorrow, Saturday, Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday of next week. We haveno idea. I don't know if I've
ever seen a more convoluted picture interms of different things being pulled in different
directions. Political uncertainty, historically expensivestock market, no matter how you look

(01:07:24):
at it. And you know,I wish I could sit there and add
some clarity to it and be asane voice in the wilderness. But you
know, it's times like these whereone of the reasons we do things the
way that we do them, asfar as you know, constantly trying to
manage risk and navigate these types ofscenarios because you know, you're in a

(01:07:45):
market that doesn't really care about fundamentals, certainly doesn't care about valuation, and
then you add all the economic uncertaintyand political uncertainty, and it's just hard
to make a call. I thinkthe biggest thing that you have to be
looking at, in our opinion,is what his driven the market thus far,
And in our opinion it's it's monetarypolicy and a cooperative FED and an

(01:08:06):
ever assisting FED, whether right orwrong, and record you know, deficits
that are six and a half sevenpercent until I see things well and unemployment.
So those are kind of the threepillars to this market in my opinion.
And until I see one of thosepillars, you know, or multiple
of those pillars be negatively impacted orchanged, I don't. I don't see

(01:08:29):
any reason for this market to reallychange behavior. But again, like you
know, this Chad, when you'relooking at a market at these levels,
this expensive, that's been on asbig of a run as it has been
without really any confirmation on the earningside for quite a few quarters. Now
you know you have to be carefuljust you own an historically expensive market and

(01:08:54):
this thing could correct twenty or thirtypercent for no other reasons than just that.
Talking to Zach aram chea investment officerBoard Capital the monetary policy side of
stuff. Let's say Trump gets in, I'm sure everybody's looking at is like,
what's going to be the change thereis? You're going to stick with
pal? Are we going to goin a certain direction? Because there is
that kind of worry about we don'tknow what the next thing is going to

(01:09:15):
do, because he is obviously abusinessman and is going to take a much
different approach. Yeah, so you'rehitting on all the hotspots. I was
just saying this earlier on another interviewthat the thing that I'm most intrigued by
is to watch FED policy and whetheror not there are any changes in their

(01:09:35):
tone or what they're saying or they'remessaging based on what's happened in the last
week, right, and the factthat at this moment it looks like a
runaway kind of a runaway train forTrump. Now, obviously we'll have to
see I mean, I don't thinkI don't know what your thoughts are,
Chad, but you know, Idon't think a month from now Biden's going

(01:09:57):
to be on the ticket. Imean, I just don't. I don't
see that he may not be onby the weekend. And we're hearing that
Axios is reporting that he is mostlikely going to drop out by the end
of the weekend. Yeah, youknow, then we're gonna have to see
who they put up instead of him. My bet has always been Gavin Newsom.
We'll see how that works. Butyou know, if this looks like

(01:10:19):
a runaway train for Trump, Iam really interested to see what FED policy
is. I'm not saying that they'retotally in the bag or totally biased,
not saying any of that, butthey are human beings, and I think
everybody involved in quote unquote the system. You know, I think that there

(01:10:40):
is definitely a preference for Biden. So we'll see if that impacts that.
That's my biggest thing that I'm keepingan eye on is how that can impact
monetary policy. Talking to Zach A. Brahm, chief investment Officer, Board
Capital, you have a big webinarinflation webinar next week. People want to
reach out to you. They wantto find out how they can sign up
and tell them a bit about itand how they can do that. Yeah,
easiest way to do that is justgo to Buwercapitalmanagement dot com. They

(01:11:02):
can sign up for the free webinarright there, and it's just us walking
through our process and most importantly inthis one, focusing on focusing on inflation
and then showing how the average portfolio, more so than ever because of people
using passive indexing so widely, howthe average portfolio is less diversified and less
exposed to things that have traditionally benefittedfrom inflation. And again we're not forecasting

(01:11:27):
a giant spike, but we've gonethrough historically a low period of inflation and
I think that we've turned the cornerand we're going to be looking at higher
inflation going forward. And when youhave a sea change like that, you
need to position assets accordingly, andthe average retail portfolio is not at all
positioned that way when you consider whatis historically benefited from inflation. So we're
just showing them those charts and showingthem the problem and showing them, you

(01:11:50):
know, steps that we take tocounteract at and make a portfolio more suitable,
at least in a historical frame ofmind, if you will to hold
up better to a different environment goingforward, because it's definitely different from what
we faced over the last couple ofyears. Three two, three, five,

Chad Benson Show, Independent Thoughts,Independent Life. This is Chad Benson.

(01:13:30):
It was the RNC. It wasa spectacle, awesome at times, hilarious
at others, and it was alsoquite frankly, very moving. If you
didn't watch it last night, Trumpthere talking about it in his words,
what took place last Saturday. Butsince he wandered into that arena on Monday
night, it was always building.Joining us now, Jim Kennedy Kennedy Institute

(01:13:55):
of Public Policy Research joints the program. All right, Jim, give me
your take on Hulk Hogan, becausethat, to me, was the best
thing of the night. That wasthat was very popular for everybody. Everybody
who was a Hulk fan loved it. I saw numerous people posting pictures all
over Twitter and the Internet of theirpictures with Hulk Hogan, and that was
probably the everyone's that checked off alot of boxes for a lot of people

(01:14:17):
who wanted to meet Hulk Hogan astheir childhood hero last night. So that
was definitely a big win for everybodyand a big win for Megaland so let's
talk about Trump. Last night. We got the speech about an hour earlier
or so. It went much longerthan there. He had lived a lot

(01:14:38):
more than I wanted him to.That being said, I thought the first
fifteen to twenty minutes was pretty damngood and then it was hit or miss
after that. Yeah, that's prettymuch what is the first third of it?
It ran an hour thirty three minutes, which was the longest presidential accepted
speech in history, which passed therecord of an hour and fifteen minutes held
by Donald J. Trump in twothousand and six. So Trump has basically

(01:15:01):
beat his own record. But yeah, though the first third was good and
then yeah he went on and rambledand yeah, I was just Texic with
a liberal friend of mine during it, going, man, this is the
liberal friend is you know, obviouslyhated it because he's liberal, And I'm
just going like, yeah, thiscouldn't any time now, and I'd be
happy with it. Because it wasat about an hour five, I was
going, Okay, you're going towrap this up here, because I mean

(01:15:24):
the old rule used to be thatyou needed to be off the air by
eleven o'clock. Eastern for the oldyou know, TV news networks to run
their run their news programs at elevenand of course you didn't ever want to
go past eleven thirty because that's whenJohnny Carson started. And nowadays I guess
they don't really care because everyone watchesstuff on streaming. But yeah, no,
I mean when Trump starts on aroll, Trump continues to like to

(01:15:45):
hear Trump talk. And that's whatwe heard last night. Most definitely very
true about that. Jim Kennedy.Kennedy inso do a pug policy research joints
the program. Uh, what tonesdid he strike that were right? I
thought he had a couple good moments. I thought it was compelling him telling
the story he wants to be apresident for all Americans, not half of
them America. What else did hedo that you thought was good? Coming

(01:16:11):
from the righty perspective of it,Because while I'm conservative, at the same
time, I'm a realist and I'vegot that common sense and I thought he
struck some good tones. What'd youthink was good? I'm not sure that
the speech is going to convert alot of conservatives over to Trump. Either
you already liked Trump or you didn't, but there was, you know,
closing the border, of course, was good. I did think it was

(01:16:34):
touching for him, like you said, talking about himself, as far as
the shooting, because that did notreally really no one had heard from Trump
about that. I thought that wasvery good and very much humanized him.
And the thing with the firefighter waswonderful also, which ties in with his
shooting of course, and very touchingand very moving. And you know,

(01:16:55):
there were lots of people that weretweeting about there were crying through that of
course, because it was you know, it was a very touching thing and
a very emotional thing. But thegeneral principles of that Trump's express before,
as far as you know, itdoesn't seem to be talking much about smaller
government anymore, which is a littlediscertning, especially for people that know that
we've got the thirty five trillion dollardebt and we're wrecking up debt or wrecking

(01:17:18):
up additional debt at at two trilliondollars a year. It's concerning for the
people that have fiscal conservatism in them. But otherwise, I mean, it
was just a general speech. Hereally is sounding like a guy who is
looking to be the president for everybodyby trying to basically put together coalition of
of you know, of everybody thatwould that would be willing to come in.

(01:17:38):
You know, the Republicans have talkedabout making it a big tent.
He's making it a really, reallybig tent. I don't think a lot
of people don't necessarily buy into itbecause they've just, you know, already
created the image out there of scaryorange man bad for everything that Trump does,
and I don't you know, actionsare going to speak louder than the
words for a lot of people.I'm not sure that it moved the dolls

(01:17:59):
on a lot of election people lastnight. Those who loved them already loved
it. Those who didn't don't know. Maybe there were some moderates that were
on the fence that he might haveconverted over, but otherwise, I'm not
sure that necessarily moved the needle awhole lot on the election results. Talking
to Jim Kennedy Kennedy Institute of PolicyResearch, we talked about last night's RNC.

(01:18:21):
He didn't mention Biden, but acouple times he didn't talk too much
about stolen election, which I thinkhe needs to get away from. You
got to start focusing forward. Butthere was some stuff he missed. A
lot of people thought, maybe youtalk about guns. A lot of people
thought he maybe talk about abortion.Didn't talk about any of those. And
there were some things I thought hemissed. Again, this is now Trump's

(01:18:44):
party, the Party of Reagan hasgone fiscal conservative. That's a dead thing.
That stuff isn't coming back. Buthe didn't miss on a few areas
I thought he could have took advantageof. Well. I think he intentially
missed on abortion because he saw whathappened in twenty twenty two with the states
that had abortion initiatives and what happenedto Republican candidates of those. I mean,
from my standpoint, we've talked aboutabortion a couple of times, and

(01:19:06):
to me, it's a losing topicfor them to talk, especially if they're
talking about the nationwide ban on abortion, which is one of JD. Vance's
primary objectives. And he was elected, so he's basically got Advance to tone
that down. And I think Trumphas seen. Trump has learned over four
years, if not eight years,on what he needs to say to be

(01:19:28):
a politician that will broad his appeal. He knows that how close he lost
in twenty twenty, and he knowsthat collecting maybe ten or twenty thousand votes
in a number of states, wellnot a lot in total, would have
been enough to keep him on hispose, and he'd be serving out his
second term right now rather than tryingto win a second term four years later.
So he's learned a lot from that. Hoover's advising him, the people

(01:19:49):
are advising him this time around. It seemed to be a lot more politically
astute, because, especially after thefirst debate, you saw a very quiet
Trump because he obviously had been advised. Joe Biden is shooting himself in the
foot metaphorically. Don't interrupt him.Let the Democrats come apart with all of
this and all of the replacement theorythat they're talking about, and don't interrupt

(01:20:11):
them, don't give them fodder.Don't change the news cycle because it's not
on you. And as much asyou like to hear yourself talk with,
the new cycle is not on you. Donald Trump is winning. Talking to
Jim Kennedy, Kennedy answered Public PolicyResearch, all right, Jim, you
talked about Biden. Mark Alpern reportingNew York Times. A lot of people
picking up several pieces of this, and several pieces over here. I'm hearing

(01:20:33):
this, you're hearing this. Thereality is is is not if. But
when I think everybody realizes that, you think it happens this weekend, you
think Biden steps down this weekend.I was a lot more confident when I
went to bed last night. WhenI woke up, I'm not as confident,
but I'm still fairly confident that willhappen on Sunday. They've talked to
John Meacham, who is supposedly goingto be penning this great speech for Joe

(01:20:56):
to step down gracefully. Meacham sayshe has nothing going on with it,
but I don't think he would havesaid yes he was, because I don't
think they would really want that toleak at this point. I think this
has been people that have don't wantedto leak that have let it leak out,
and I don't think the Meacham wouldhave confirmed it anyway. So that
doesn't really change my opinion too muchon it. But I see a lot
of people that are that they're stillfighting. There are still people out there

(01:21:17):
that are fighting to the deaf thatit will be Joe, and as a
Republican God bless them. I hopethey're right, but I think that the
party higher arps and higher ups andthose that with the money more importantly these
days know the numbers and the numbersare not going in Joe's favor as much
as people want to believe. Andunfortunately for them, the numbers look worse
with with with Kamala, and theyare in a panic about, you know,

(01:21:42):
can we salvage this or do wejust ride the boat out and sync
with the entire Democratic Party and reloadfor twenty twenty eight with Gretchen Whitmer or
a Gavin Newsom or a Shapiro ora Wes Moore or someone like that.
That's still kind of, you know, being being anied about by the party
because they really don't know what theycan do, because other than convincing Joe

(01:22:03):
to leave, there is nothing theycan do. They have no measure other
than the twenty fifth Amendment, whichwould mean removing him from the presidency to
get him off the ticket. Theclock is running and it is closing,
and the windows forgetting him on balanceare closing daily. Yeah, Oh,
there's no doubt about that. Talkingto Jim Kennedy, Kennedy as to do
a public policy research. I thinkif not Sunday Monday, it is going

(01:22:27):
to happen one of those two days. The interesting thing is what Halprint is
reporting, and several others reporting mysource have said he is not going to
endorse her or anybody, and thatwill basically be an open ish kind of
convention that can be contested, butdoesn't seem to be a lot of people

(01:22:49):
that are going to go up againsther. And I understand if I'm person
being bantered about Jim as somebody whomay be presidential material. I don't know
if I want to get on thesinking ship right now. I would rather
wait a few years. Yeah,absolutely, I mean you're talking about you're
talking about these things take years toprepare for. You're talking about jumping in

(01:23:11):
and trying to run a political campaignfrom day one with no infrastructure that's going
to last about one hundred and twentydays. And yeah, if you really
have serious like, I don't reallysee Gavin Newsom jumping into this one as
badly as he wants to be presidentand as badly he was hoping that Joe
would somehow step down earlier and he'dbe the emergency breaking, break breaking or

(01:23:33):
break lass in case of candidate, that they would all come you know,
basically, Gavin, please save theparty. I know he dreams about this
every night. I'm going to guessI don't think he wants in right now,
because, yeah, this is reallygoing to be a mess and it
could go very, very badly.Remember we've seen this before, especially with
Gavin. What happens The difference betweenbeing on a state stage and being on

(01:23:54):
a national stage. The ability toscrew up is one hundred times more amplified
to grew up when you have thenational spotlight on you. We looked at
Ronda, I mean, I keepthinking of Ronda Santis. Everybody thought,
man, he is going to giveyou know, he is going to give
Trump a run. He is theheir apparent. He is the king of
conservatism right now for any conservative governorin the country, there's no one better

(01:24:15):
who could be the president twenty fourpresidential candidate for Republicans. And he got
on the national stage and he absolutelyfell in his face. That doesn't mean
his political career is over. RonaldReagan took two swings to become the party's
nominee and to win or to winthe presidency for the Republicans. So it's
very well, you know, fouryears from now and a lot of training
to Santa come back and could bea powerhouse and twenty eight. So that's

(01:24:38):
definitely possible. But I don't thinkany Republican who really thinks they've got national
potential is going to want to jumpin and you're not going to get the
best candidate. And they very verymuch may wind up with Kamala Harris because
I know that she will jump inand in a sense she has been vetted
on a national basis, though I'mnot sure with great results. Yeah,

(01:24:58):
it's going to be very interesting.Jim Kennedy Kennedy Institute, PAPA Policy Research.

Signed James de Norway Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Sero,

what trapping. Let's find out what'strending on the old intewebs on this Friday.
Where should we start. Let's startwith Google. CrowdStrike obviously massive it
it's you causing delays, Delta andall of these amazing, incredible, giant,

(01:27:16):
huge companies across the board. Andthey think they figured it out software
update. It's not good. BobNewhart Number Train anything yesterday on Google,
passed away at age ninety four.Lou Dobbs, conservative commentator, passed away

(01:27:38):
yesterday as well, age seventy eight. Melaennia Trump, Paul Cogan, it's
the local media, X Brother, the Open that is Golf, Biden stepping
down, Kid Rock, Tiger Woods, Kamala, Obama, all trending on
Google over to Yahoo, CrowdStrike, say it issues. We're talking about American

(01:28:00):
Airlines, Delta, I mean, you name it, this was Microsoft everything.
This issue here is massive, andthey're saying, at least at this
point in time, it seems tobe some sort of software update. They
think they're going to fix it heresoon. Fandango founder apparently committed suicide.

(01:28:21):
Thomas Crooks COVID symptoms usher vance orusher vance also trending, and finally over
to Twitter, CrowdStrike number one, thing outage, global It, Hannibal Lecter,
hashtag dropout don also trending. Whywould he drop out? He's in

(01:28:45):
the lead at least for now. We'll see what happens, because you never
know. By the way, youdon't. You don't know what is going
to happen three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four twenty
three at Chad Benson's show is yourTwitter tweet at as text the program right
here on the Chad Benson Show.We don't know who, who's going to

(01:29:08):
be what and where's going to bewho and who's going to be the person
running. We have no idea. The many people I've talked to over the
last twenty four to forty eight hoursas we have talked about this, nobody
knows. But one thing we doknow for sure that this feels very historic.
Whatever is going to happen this weekend, and it is going to be

(01:29:31):
historic. Whatever is coming is historic. Because the voices have grown louder,
and this is how DC works.Deny, deny, deny, hoping the
person that you're trying to protect isfiguring out what they need to do,

(01:29:54):
and when that doesn't seem to beworking, Leak, leak, leak and
r Right now they're leaking. Imean it is an absolute. They're leaking
like the Titanic. They're not tryingin any way, shape or form to
deny any of this any longer. They're not trying to say an unnamed source.

(01:30:15):
They're all coming out in their ownway and delivering the message that needs
to be out there. And silenceand or no denial that they said something
is a way of saying something. So much stuff still to get to.
Will he or won't he? Moreon Trump's speech last night. You can

We've got some tweets from you guys. This is the Friday edition of
The Chad Benson Show, The ChadBenson Show, Independent Thoughts, Independent Life.

(01:31:18):
This is Chad Benson with all ofthe stuff going on when it comes
to election, Biden, Trump, assassination, the rest of us. We're
going about our lives in other ways, and there's a lot of crazy stuff
happening when it comes to the interwebs. Was the world hack? Was it

(01:31:41):
just an incident? You're not payingany attention. There's been a global outage
in a lot of different areas, from the airline industry to Microsoft and emergency
responses nine to one to one, things of that nature. What the hell
happened? It's tied to a softwareupdate that cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, sent out

(01:32:05):
to Windows computers overnight. The faultyupdate appears to send computers and servers into
a recovery boot loop, essentially startingthe computer up over and over again,
but never logging in. CrowdStrike CEOGeorge Kurtz posted on social media that this
is not a security incident or acyber attack, and that a fix has
been deployed. He also says Macand Linux computers are unaffected. It's worrisome

(01:32:31):
though, because the first thing thatbecause this is not just in America or
Europe. It is global, fromAustralia to Amarillo. I mean, it
is everywhere. It is happening, and nine one one and they're going to
old school was stuff? I mean, is it is crazy? But it
also shows you. First of all, when I first saw it, I

(01:32:56):
thought, oh my god, they'rehacking the world. My I media thought
when I heard this, was thissome sort of test run by a foreign
actor that doesn't like us, theRussia, China. Now, obviously I
don't know if any of that's true. I'm only suggesting we aren't really to
the bottom of this in my viewas to what it is, but we
just are vulnerable. It's Brad Garrettthere, terrorism law enforcement expert. He

(01:33:19):
says, nah, you know,we're not to the bottom of They're saying
that it's this, but are weto the bottom of it for real?
But he also talks about how vulnerablewe are, and we've got to think
of it. We are so vulnerablewe don't understand. Last night, when
Trump was giving a speech, oneof the things he was talking about is
war being the hell that it is. It isn't tanks anymore. War is

(01:33:42):
coming in a thousand different ways, and think robots, think, cyber think
all of that stuff. The fightwe're seeing in Ukraine is over land in
a battle, but the bigger war, if there is to be one,
is going to be in different ways. This is a great example of how
vulnerable the system really is. IfCrowdStrike is being forthwith about what they think

(01:34:05):
they've found, it's basically a corruptedpatch. You know, we get patches
every day to fix malwhere from tryingto get through our firewall. Like we
said, if they're being honest, because you never know, can you figure
out a way to infect the patch? Could that be a malicious actor outside
of the United States? Maybe,But the point being we have to have

(01:34:30):
backup. Yeah, we need tohave backup. We need to figure out
how we protect ourselves better, andwe need to spend money when it comes
to infrastructure, on our grids andall of these things that we rely on
every single day because we have becomeso dependent upon technology. Are we spending
our money in the right way?Are we preparing for a war potentially that

(01:34:56):
is coming, not preparing for awar that has happened in the past that
we think they're gonna fight like inthe future three two, three, five,
three, eight, twenty four totwenty three at Chad Benson's show is
Your Twitter tweet at US text theprogram. Mark Alburn earlier today talking about

(01:35:17):
what's going on this weekend potentially withJoe Biden, his campaign talked about it
throughout the show Next up, andwe were talking earlier with our buddy Jim
Kennedy, Kennedy's a public policy researchtalking about it's gonna be probably Kamala because
it doesn't look like anybody else wantsto throw their name into that. Although

(01:35:41):
you know what, you get thatclose to power, right, you know,
if you're Gavin Newsom, you don'twant to. If you're Gretchen Whitmyer,
you don't want to. But ifit's gonna be a contested convention,
and you start thinking to yourself, what if the disdain for Trump is still
so strong that this momentum we're feelingfades away and Kamala manages to pull it

(01:36:05):
off, then my shot of winningmay be gone. Now that's a lot
of what ifs at this point intime. Yesterday text my buddy, big
radio guy as well Arizona, andI said, it's gonna be Mark Kelly.
Now you're hearing a lot of names, but it's gonna be Mark Kelly.

(01:36:29):
He's got a great story, he'sgot all the stuff. He's in
a swing state, he's not agovernor, he doesn't really have eyes on
the prize. The way that someof the other people do. And if
you are Kamala Harris, and let'sbe honest here in America, I'm gonna
do it's gonna make some of youfeel uncomfortable. She needs a white dude,
not even a white chick. Sheneeds a white dude. But he's

(01:36:50):
got a great story Swing State. But also he's not talked about being president.
If I'm Kamala, I don't knowif I want somebody directly behind me
that potentially wants my job, notthat they're going to do anything, It

(01:37:12):
just that's that's not what you're about, right. You want somebody who is
going to be somebody that adds toyou but doesn't in some ways compete with
you. Where people are going,I wish that person was president, but
it's going to be Mark Kelly.Earlier today, Mark Alperton. In terms

(01:37:33):
of her running mate if she isthe nominee. There are a lot of
talk about Basher and my sources yesterday, the name that's come up today in
Republican circles and also interestingly in theTrump camp is Mark Kelly. Mark Kelly
is seen by people close to Trumphas the smart choice of Kamala Harris is

(01:37:53):
taking a running mate because he couldpotentially put a state in play and give
that ticket another path other electoral collegebat he's going. He's got a hero
story, he's a likable guy.And if you ask me today, based
on the Trump analysis and some stuffI've heard from from Democrats, watch this

(01:38:14):
if develop if she's a nominee, watch potentially gravitation towards Mark Kelly and stories
matter because he would be the vicepresidential candidate who's got the great story.
But also veteran JD Vance veteran seewhere we're going here. It is a

(01:38:35):
it's it, It would be good, and I think the Republicans understand that
that puts some stuff in play. The worry side of it is for the
Democrats is you're going to then putpotentially another seed in play again in Arizona
for the Senate side, and everybody'strying to avoid. There is no perfect
situation in this. When Joe stepsdown, there's going to be a bit

(01:38:57):
of chaos. And we continue togo back, as we were talking to
our buddy earlier today, Jim Kennedy, the opportunity to fall down, if
you will, and be exposed onthe national level is much bigger, and

(01:39:19):
Kamala faced a little bit of thatwhen she was running. And when you're
the vice presidential candidate, you're stillnot the candidate. Being the person is
much different than being the running mate. Like Robin never had to make the

(01:39:39):
big decisions. That was Batman. You're along for the ride, help if
I need it, but you're notit. It wasn't that right. It

(01:41:36):
No Deep Doo doo e, TheChad Benson Show and devotion. I proudly
accept your nomination for President of theUnited States. Thank Donald Trump. Last
night accepting denomination, giving the longestspeech in history. It might still be

(01:41:59):
going on. I don't know.It just seemed like it went on forever.
A lot of you felt that waytoo. I think the first fifteen
minutes twenty minutes pretty damn good.I think him telling the story. I
think he showed a human side thatwe don't always see. And then it

(01:42:20):
seemed to go on and on andon and on. Had some good parts,
had some parts I wasn't thrilled about. I think a lot of you
feel that way. Our pole saysthat you take the poll at Chad Benson
Show, about forty percent of yousay you felt like it missed the mark.
Let me know what you think.Meanwhile, Mark Halprin, dude knows

(01:42:45):
what he's talking about inside the Beltwaylike very few when he gets information.
So we've talked about throughout the show. It's pretty damn good. It is
pretty damn good. He actually reportedthe day before the wash Wall Street Journal
about Biden slipping and struggling. Rememberthat he reported the day before yesterday talking

(01:43:12):
about what he's hearing from his sources. President Biden has agreed to step down
as a Democrat nominee. What happenedas early as this weekend. A speech
has been drafted for him. Hewill continue on as president, is his
intention. He also will not,i'm told, endorse Vice President Harris as
his successor. They're hoping that hewill endorse an open process in which the
convention will be open to Vice PresidentHarris and a few other candidates in Chicago

(01:43:35):
to pick the Democrat nominee for president. That is interesting. So no endorsement
according to him. Now, everythingcould change, obviously, but I think
we realized that the issue is toostrong now for him to ignore that he's
got to step away, and he'sstarting to realize that. But like anything

(01:43:59):
else, a lot of times youhave to make that person understand that,
yeah, you can go forward, but this is your choice. Make it
their idea that it's time to stepaway. The belief is that Vice President
Harris is already looking at potential runningmates to go to Chicago with a full
ticket, including one possibility, AndyBasheer, the governor of Kentucky, and

(01:44:20):
perhaps the governor of Pennsylvania, GovernorShapiro. Other possible candidates who are being
talked about include Gavin Newsom, thegovernor of California, perhaps Gretchen Whitmere and
again the vice president running on thefirst ballot, the regular delegates would be
allowed to vote under this agreement that'sbeing talked about amongst the president and high
level Democrat officials. Man, Itell you what. Shapiro and her,

(01:44:44):
that'd be good. That would beshe needs somebody to balance her out because
she's a woman. No, becauseshe's Kamala Harris. That's why. And
on the other side of it,you're not going to Gretchen. You're not.
You're not going to do it becauseshe has her eyes on the prize.

(01:45:05):
Andy Basheer and Shapiro because they're whitemales, whatever you want to say,
they're middle of the road. Theycould both lead the ticket. But
here's the other thing. They haven'tbeen talked about, like Newsome and Whitmere
as presidential candidates. They haven't beenSo you don't want that pressure of having

(01:45:30):
the person behind you want your gigso bad. The regular delegates would vote
on the first ballot. If thereis no winner in the first ballot,
the so called super delegates would beallowed to vote on the subsequent ballot.
This decision was reached, I'm toldall of a sudden because of the high
level pressure from Nancy Pelosi, BarackObama and others, as well as the
decision of many of the President Biden'stop aids that there was no path forward

(01:45:55):
for him, that he would notbe able to win this election, win
the general election. Yeah, Halprinsay that it would start as a drip
and then suddenly it would happen,And that's what I feel like is going
on. We explained it earlier too. The other big thing is the money
side of it, and that's abig deal because there's one hundred million dollar
war chest right there. But conservativegroups have already lined up to sue because

(01:46:19):
that money, in theory goes toBiden Harris, it doesn't go to Harris
and somebody else. So a lotof constitutional lawyers and people are looking at
like, how do we do this. Do we just say screw it,
We'll give her the money, We'llpay a fine later on down the road.

(01:46:40):
I mean, I don't know howthat works. And that's the issue
that they're going to have with this. So it is going to be very
interesting to see what happens this weekwhich brings us to this. And then
I go and spoil it all bysaying something stupid. We'll take stupid pills
this morning. It's the ones youwant to watch out for because you can

(01:47:01):
never predict they're going to do somethingincredibly stupid. Now you're the fact stupid
one with the big mouth is stupidlittle last time, you should never underestimate
the predictability of stupiditing. Now it'stime for stupid information. Oh, stupid

(01:47:26):
information. Well, well, well, has there ever been a president decided
not to run for re election?Of course there's been several, but the
last one, well, that tookplace on March thirty first, nineteen sixty
eight, LBJ. With America's futureunder challenge, right here at home,

(01:47:49):
with our hopes and the world's hopesfor peace and the balance every day,
I do not believe that I shoulddevote an hour or day of my time
to any personal partisan causes, areto any duties other than the awesome duties

(01:48:12):
of this office, the presidency ofyour country. Accordingly, I shall not
see and I will not accept thenomination of my party for another term as
your president. That's right, that'swhat happened. Stepping away. By the
way, if you want to knowwhere that convention was at, it was

(01:48:35):
at the International Amphitheater in Chicago. This year's DNC Chicago. Now you Know
three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three
at Chad Benson Show. Is yourTwitter tweet at US text to program right
here on The Chad Benson Show.Solid fun shows this week, crazyotic,

(01:49:00):
wild. This is a time ofhistory. I was telling my kids that
I have been telling my kids thatfor the last couple months. What we're
witnessing is the stuff you put inhistory books, and boy, it seems
like there's history being made every singleday. This weekend is going to be
very telling because a lot of theeyes of the world are on the President

(01:49:21):
of the United States and will hemake the decision to step away? Many
people think so. We will becovering it all weekend long online. If
you're miss any of the shows, make sure you grab the podcast. You
guys, be good to each other. Have a blessed weekend. We'll do
it again on Monday. As always, Night Night Jack. This is the
