Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Every week something happens and you think, oh, it's going
to be quiet this week, and then it wasn't. So
I'd worked on my stuff yesterday getting ready for today.
Obviously the Brown shooting, what's going on there, we'll touch
on that a little bit. Then what happened in the
horrors yesterday in Bondai in Australia at Bondi Beach, the
(00:38):
anti Semitism, the terrorist attack.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
And then Rob Reiner, great director.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Actor, producer, political satirists, somebody who guess people on the
right couldn't stand. But there was a guy who I
grew up watching with my dad, Meadhead, and I loved
his movies. Princess Bride's one of my favorite movies. Obviously,
spinal Tap is huge. And then the horrors of what
(01:10):
happened yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Senior LPD leadership are on scene, the Robbery Homicide Unit
of the LPD taking over the investigation. Sources say no
one is in custody, a neighbor tells ABC News and
actors Billy Crystal and Larry David visited the home after
police arrived, one neighbor saying Crystal looked like he was
about to cry. The Reiner family, according to that neighbor,
(01:32):
has two homes across the street from one another and
are a big presence in the neighborhood. Often they have parties.
Police closed off the area as the investigation continues.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Now, while they're investigating, the reality is everything seems to
point to an inside job. Many are reporting that is
his son, Nick, who has had battles demons if you will,
with drug addition homelessness. He has got well, has four kids,
three by his now deceased wife, Michelle Singer Reiner, who
(02:06):
he met while filming Harry met Sally actually, and she
helped him change the end of the movie, and he
adopted when in nineteen seventy one he married Penny Marshall
adopted her daughter. So lots of investigation, no doubt, and
(02:26):
of course you know the conspiracy start and all this
kind of stuff. The reality is a human being lost
his life, another horrific incident of somebody who unfortunately, by
the sounds of it, a lot of issues. You know,
they're just a family like everybody else. I always tell
(02:47):
everybody that you never know what's going on with human beings.
You never know what's happening with people, and you go
and you look and you think it's the holidays. Holmes
wethirty and a half million dollars to get another home,
probably worth the same. Across the street. Life seems to
be good and then you look over and what do
you see? Tragedy, human beings, drugs, this stuff, it all,
(03:18):
it touches everybody, and a horrific way to start the night.
And then, of course yesterday I was up late, which
was kind of early when you heard the news about
what was going on in Australia. Hanukkah, first night of
Hanukkah horror is a father and son who were legal
(03:40):
gun owners, which, by the way, if you don't know this,
Australia not easy to get a gun, legal gun owners,
and they went on a shooting spree at Bondai Beach.
Sixteen dad, including the father, the son, is still a
lot in guarded condition, tons of people injured, and it
(04:07):
could have been way worse had it not been for
another guy who decided I'm not going to allow this
to happen, took action and was heroic. By the way,
Muslims shooting Jewish people celebrating Hanukkah, a Muslim stopping the killing.
(04:31):
Authority say the.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
Bloodshed could have been much worse if not for the
heroic actions of a bystander. That man, who police have
identified as Ahmad al Ahmad, confronted one of the gunmen
by jumping from behind a car, wrestling for control of
the weapon, and disarming him. Ahmand suffered multiple gunshot wounds
and is currently recovering at the hospital.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah, if you haven't seen it, it is incredible. So
there's a little brid and some stairs on both sides,
and they're up there shooting, and the the son, I guess,
comes down or one of the people come down, and
I can't tell because again this is people are filming
this everywhere. And this dude's like there's cars, just like
(05:17):
a regular parking lot, and you see him just take off.
And by the way, this is not when you think
of a hero always like a superman and stuff like that. No,
and this is just a dude, Okay, no weapons, just
a guy in jogging pants and a you know, not
(05:39):
the fittest guy, not the youngest guy. Right, he's got
he's got a white like, you know, golf shirt on
and he just goes for it.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
I think it's most it's the most unbelievable, saying, I've
ever seen a man walking up to a gunman who
had fired on the community and single handedly disarming him,
putting his own life at risk to save the lives
of countless other people. That man is a genuine hero,
and I've got no doubt that there are many many
(06:10):
people alive tonight as a result of his bravery.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah, and that right there is what they call the
premiere think of a mayor, and he is Chris Mims
talking about what this guy did, because it was amazing.
I mean, it was absolutely incredible. It was so incredible
to watch, Like that's what a hero is. A hero,
(06:36):
you know, it's easy to be a hero if you're Superman.
Let's be honest, right, you're pretty much indestructible, and nine
people on earth have no idea how to destroy you
because they have no idea what your weakness is. Okay,
this guy he got the gun too, and he turned
(06:58):
and he didn't shoot most of us right here in
America's like, I just shot the guy. He didn't. And
then another guy comes over and throws a rock at
the guy, but he is injured. It looks like he's
going to be okay, but it was horrific. And yes,
anti Semitism in particular has been on the rise in
(07:18):
parts of the world, and I know I get it
all the time where you're an anti semit No, you're wrong.
What I am as a person who cares about people,
human beings, that's what I care about. The innocent and
unfortunately the nity get caught up and stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
This was not that.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
This was a cold calculated evil act by a father
and son who did something heinous and it's a terrorist act.
How did it get to this point? We'll find out
more in the next you know, twenty four to forty
(07:55):
eight hours. But this is horror of epic proportions, no
doubt out. And then it started Saturday, right as we
continue with this chaos with Brown University. What has happened
there too, dead shooting, several people injured, somebody in custody
and now not in custody. This is the Mayor of
(08:19):
Providence talking about persent custody and out of custody earlier
this morning. Good morning America, Mayor Smiley, thank you for
joining us this morning.
Speaker 7 (08:28):
Let's start with the investigation. Why was this person of
interest release? What more can you tell us.
Speaker 8 (08:33):
So we continued to examine evidence after this individual had
been detained. As you might have heard from the Attorney
General late last night here in Rhode Island, it takes
time to run this evidence. It takes time to process
information that was collected and hard evidence that was collected.
And as we continued to process that evidence, it was
(08:56):
determined that this person of interest needed to be really
least and we continue with our investigation. To be clear,
we've never stopped our investigation. The Providence Police and our
partners and state police, the FBI, and others have continuously
run down leads and worked this case beyond the person
(09:19):
of interest who had been detained yesterday.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Yeah, so they haven't stopped. They're still looking.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
They thought they had a guy who was checked into
a hotel was from Wisconsin. They took him into custody.
He said he was a person of interest, not the suspect.
Everybody's like, oh, they always say that, and then lo
and behold. They have since released him but haven't said
he's not. It's just again confusing. People want to know
what happened. Was this person part of the school. Were
(09:48):
they showing up for something where they pissed you know,
was it a love triangle? You don't know what it was.
And the kids are terrified, obviously, because this is the
time of year. You're getting ready for finals, get ready
to get a home, enjoy the holidays with your family.
Speaker 9 (10:04):
This was supposed to be a joyful time. People were
finishing up final exams, they were making plans to go
see their families. This is a very safe place, and
we've talked to these students who were just completely in shock.
Speaker 10 (10:17):
I'm shocked, but I'm not surprised, and I think that
that's probably a sentiment that a lot of students also
have here.
Speaker 9 (10:23):
We heard from one student who was a survivor of
the Parkland shooting nearly eight years ago, which.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Is crazy, and it's sad that we think. I'm shocked,
but I'm not surprised. No, you should be absolutely shocked.
It should be a one off. The fact that it
happens here shows we have a problem. And these were handguns.
These weren't long guns, so you know, it wasn't the
scary gun that the gun's rights activists want to put
(10:52):
out there, which again, it is a tool being used
for evil. The why we always want to know, and
right now we do not have those answers three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Menson Show, is
your ex your Insta, YouTube and more. Hope your weekend
was good. I had a nice quiet weekend. Was hoping. Oh,
(11:14):
you know what, we.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Have a lot of fun this week.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
We got some fun stuff to do, and of course
we're gonna do a big Christmas special on the twenty third,
and it's going to be so much fun because we
have our Chad Mark Holiday Special and I thought, oh cool,
this would be neat. We have some fun stuff this week,
and instead we're starting out with death and destruction, which
is absolutely not the way that I want to start
the week. I don't think anybody does a lot of
(11:38):
good stuff to come up though, including the World's Worst
Christmas Song countdown number two today and this one is
so awful.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I didn't even know how to describe it.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
It's just so bad. Oh lord. Relief factor, we can
all use a little relief or relief factor delivers time
and time again. It makes you feel awesome. What is
relief factor? It's natural, okay, formula with the best of
the best and things like Omega three fatty acids with
incredible stuff out there like Karin qusaman risveratrol that focuses
(12:10):
on your aches and pains in particular in your muscles
and joints and helps you recover faster and feel better,
which is what we're always looking for. I take it
every single day and right now for less than a
cup of coffee. A three week quick start okay, you
will experience a difference for yourself. Head to relief factor

(12:32):

you will feel amazing. Go to relieffactor dot com or
call one eight hundred four Relief one eight hundred to the
number four relief and make sure you tell them Chad
sent you one eight hundred four relief for relief Factor
coming up. How much should moms be paid? Interesting question
(12:56):
a woman asked on the Internet. I don't think she
was thrilled by the answers she got.
Speaker 11 (12:59):
Chad Benson, Joe, you're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
How much should you pay mom? A lady asked the internet,
and well, here we go.
Speaker 12 (13:19):
If you are a stay at home mom, you should
be receiving a salary from your husband. If you are
a stay at home mom otherwise known as a non
compensated working mom, and you are married to a man,
your husband, the compensated partner, should be paying for the
uncompensated labor. And yeah, there's gonna be a lot of
pissed off men in the comments. But try to replace you.
(13:41):
Try to replace a stay at home mom, you're going
to be paying for a chauffeur, a chef, nanny, a
project manager for the house. In fact, recent data has
shown that stay at home mom's non compensated working parents,
if you had to pay them a salary, it would
be at least one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars
a year. So if you are a non compensated working mom,
if you are a stay at home mom, you deserve
(14:03):
a salary from your husband.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I seven, okay, I don't know where you got the
one hundred and seventy five thousand. By the way, the
US national averages, let's say we break it down inch
by inch. Okay, so full time childcare eighteen to twenty
eight thousand.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
But remember this is also your child.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
So we're going to take off ten grand there, okay,
part time house cleaner six to nine thousand, meal prep
cooking five to seven, laundry and household management three to four,
transportation and errands four to six, and administration in scheduling
three to five. So it's thirty nine thousand and fifty
nine thousand. I'm gonna go with fifty grand. Okay. Now,
(14:44):
now you couldn't look at some other stuff homeschooling, nightcare,
on call availability, infant care like the nanny equivalent. You
could push that up to about sixty sixty five. Okay.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Now, let's also look at it like this.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
So if you're an employee, you're staying in the house,
you're eating the food that I provide. So we're gonna
take that off your bill. I pay for your insurance.
We're gonna take that off your bill. Wait hold wait wait,
wait hold wait. So and there's gonna be some stuff
(15:25):
here too that we're going to be required, like if
you don't do what you're supposed to do, we're gonna
write you up at any given time. It is an
at will state. You're not unionized, I can fire you.
And boy was at hilarious three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Shows, Your ex,
your Insta, your YouTube, Facebook and more Radio The Chad
(15:47):
Benson Show. Here's what some people said on the old interwebs.
Does that mean I'm her boss? Does that mean every
day she doesn't cook dinner and we have to order in?
Food comes out of her salary? Mike, laundry isn't done.
Can I put her on a PIP performance improvement Plan? Oh?
My lord, this right here is the insanity of the
(16:11):
world we live in. Let me know what you think.
What do you think the stay at home mom should get?
I can't believe you said that, Chad. You broke it
down like that. One hundred and seventy five thousand dollars.
Are you out of your blanket mind? Are you out
of your mind? This is the problem in today's world.
One hundred and seventy five thousand dollars. That's insane. That's insane, guys,
(16:33):
Be like, I'll sign up for that. I'll sign it
for that every day of the week you go and
I'll stay at home, and you know what, just pay
me fifty and cover all my bills. Just so insane
and It's funny because when the guys start asking questions
about if she doesn't do this and she doesn't do that,
(16:55):
do I get a writer up? And some of the
women were offended by it. It was I'm sorry, sorry,
So what if I go on vacation? All right, because
now you're an employee. So now if I go on vacation,
I'm taking you with me. So you're costing me money. There, Oll,
this is not what I wanted. Some people are to say,
(17:16):
oh my lord. A lot of stuff to get to.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Some more on what happened over the weekend, the horrors
of what took place, more on Rob Reiner and the
murder of him and his wife at his home in
southern California. Plus number two of the world's worst Christmas
song of all time.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
This one's a doozy. If you're missing the.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Show show when you've heard the podcast, it is the
Chad Benson.
Speaker 13 (17:39):
Shoe Son Chad Benson Joe.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
This podcast is absolutely hilarious and it's also scary, but
it's also hilarious. There is a young brother and sister.
By young, I mean they're in their they're millennials. And
then mom and dad. Mom and dad very maga, son
and daughter obviously not maga. It's called necessary conversation. And
(18:27):
sometimes I think I don't think mom and dad know
what's going on here, because if I'm their kids, I'm like, man,
we can't put this on. Everybody thinks mom and Dad
are insane.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
But it is interesting.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Uh. This is one of the conversations from their podcast.
Speaker 10 (18:41):
Dad should should members of military follow unlawful orders?
Speaker 7 (18:49):
Yes?
Speaker 12 (18:52):
What?
Speaker 14 (18:53):
I should follow any order that the president gives if
it breaks laws, because it will and danger other people
if you don't follow orders.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
What if he orders?
Speaker 10 (19:06):
Hang on, what if President Trump orders a squad of
army guys to walk down the street killing anyone they see,
they should do it?
Speaker 14 (19:17):
Yes, Mom, yes, what?
Speaker 15 (19:24):
This is hilarious.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
This is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Wait what yes?
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yes? Oh it's not done though. And again, if I'm
listening to this and I'm thinking to myself self, I
don't know if IM gonna put this out there, you know,
because well, Mom and Dad, we love them. We're trying
to show them that this is wrong and they don't
really care, and because of that, we're going to make
(19:53):
them look horrific.
Speaker 10 (19:54):
I don't even understand, Like, how can you come to
that conclusion?
Speaker 15 (19:59):
To me?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Sounds to me like you lefties are now beginning to
fear the fact that the military is going to get
involved and your asses are.
Speaker 10 (20:08):
Grass beginning to fear. I feared this since Trump got
elected the first time, that he would take cald the
military and use it to.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Do illegal It's coming to your house.
Speaker 10 (20:18):
But wait a minute, you're okay with what if Donald
Trump says I want you to carpet bomb Oklahoma City,
kill everyone. You think the air force should carry that out?
Speaker 16 (20:28):
Yes, there might be a reason.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
We don't know. You like, that can't be real. It's real.
It's called necessary conversation. You've never seen it is very interesting.
So they're like again younger, their kids they're in their twenties,
you know, maybe thirties, and they're having the conversation with
mom and dad. Very maga. They're when they're maga hats
all the time and whatever Trump says, they believe.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Whatever and whatever Trump says, that's even real.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
The kids don't believe. But the kids get that. It's
they're trying to, I think, use this to show absurd
mom and dad is.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
But instead it was.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Something completely different because it shows mom and dad as
being insane, insane speaking of MAGA, not because insane. What
do the polls say, you know this week We're going
to talk a little bit more next hour about healthcare,
obviously the costs of stuff. Are they buying that everything
(21:31):
is going in the perfect direction? Are they buying that
or not? If Trump loses the magabase, that's not a
good thing. The conservative base voted with him because they
like some of the stuff he wanted to do. Maybe
not thrilled by the way that he's doing certain things,
(21:51):
but it is what it is. The magabase is with
him always. They believe everything he says. Everything doesn't matter
what it is they believed. How is the magabase? Are
they with him one hundred percent?
Speaker 17 (22:06):
Towards the end of twenty twenty five, we know that
politically a tough ending of the year for Republicans and
for President Trump, and certainly this NBC News Decision Desk
poll showing the same thing. A forty two percent approval
rating for Donald Trump. Now we know his approval rating
has existed in a pretty narrow range the entire time
of both terms he's been in office. However, that is
down three points from the start of the year.
Speaker 14 (22:28):
I think maybe more worryingly.
Speaker 17 (22:29):
For Trump though here when you look at this approval rating,
look inside his own party. Now overall it's like close
to a ninety percent approval rating with Republicans. But the intensity,
how about this, the folks who say they don't just approve,
they strongly approve.
Speaker 18 (22:43):
And you can see here.
Speaker 17 (22:44):
Republicans who call themselves they say they identify with MAGA,
the Make America Great Again movement, seventy percent of them
strongly approve of Trump. Those who say, you know, more
traditional Republican thirty five percent of them strongly approve of
Trump and Kristen that's a change the start of the year.
Here it was seventy eight percent strongly for MAGA, thirty
eight percent for traditional Republicans at the start of the year.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
So it's gone down a little bit. I know some
people are frustrated, you know, being where I'm at doing
my show out here in Nashville, very strong MAGA base
at the station I'm out out here, And I will
say over the last several months, what started out is
you couldn't say anything negative, even if it was nothing
(23:29):
to do with Trump, but just in their mind you
took it as an attack on Trump, so they took
an attack on them. Has changed tremendously in the last
several months, where they're frustrated, they're angry, they feel like
they're they're they're watching what they thought was going to
be this new wave of of you know, Maga coming
(23:51):
in and doing stuff turning out to be not what
he promised. And you know, for some people, you took
it literally, he took it, I'm going to fix it
on day one was never going to get fixed day one.
For some people out there, they didn't expect it to
change day one, but they did expect it to start
(24:13):
to change, and they didn't expect the when I hear
when I talk to people out here and again very maga.
They didn't expect this to be a situation where they
feel like, Okay, you know what, Yes, there's some crossover
with Biden.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
There's no doubt about that. And that's just life.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
And that's probably going to go on for a bit
because it was the same thing with you handing over
to Biden.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
But when do you start taking.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Some you know, responsibility for what's going on. And I'm
hearing a lot of frustration from people out there, especially
with the affordability question, which you can't say that it's
a hoax.
Speaker 17 (24:51):
This is an online poll, This is looking at all adults,
not just registered voters. So we want to see when
you're looking at other poles too, is this something they're
finding as well. But that's significant, certainly if that's something
you start seeing across the board. The other thing here
along these same lines, just look at the composition of
the Republican Party. We ask Republicans do you identify more
with MAGA or with just the Republican Party itself? Fifty
(25:12):
to fifty right now, and again start of the year
the balance was more on the MAGA side, So moving
a little bit away from that potentially, but again, looking
at that low approval rating for Donald Trump, what might
go into it? We ask voters what matters most to you?
Twenty seven percent, it is the economy, healthcare you see,
by the way, seventeen percent. When you're talking economy, overwhelmingly
(25:32):
it's the cost of living, It's inflation.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
It's everything because as it goes right, the cost of
everything once again not bind you happiness, bind you peace
of mind, which allows you to be happier, which allows.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
You to not worry.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
When you're not worrying what happens. Well, when I'm not
worrying and things are going good, than allows me to
be a little freer. And when things are a little
bit freer, I've got a bigger smile on my face
and I can help people out, et cetera, et cetera. Yeah,
people are frustrated, no doubt.
Speaker 17 (26:08):
And then look at this, Yes, folks, are you better
off or worse off versus a year ago? It's sixty
five thirty five now, Kristen, That's basically exactly what it
was when Trump came to office. So it's not like
there's been a groundswell of people feeling differently over the
course of the year. And then, you know, let's talk
politics here. Which party we ask voters do you trust
more when it comes to those prices, that's Democrats blue
(26:30):
by six points. Healthcare costs that's Democrats blue by fourteen points.
Think of those results we saw in New Jersey and Virginia. Certainly,
you know this could be an ingredient in that Democratic
hopes for next year Republican fears for next year.
Speaker 18 (26:43):
And then on healthcare.
Speaker 17 (26:44):
Too, I did want to make sure we mention this
very important as this healthcare debate plays out. We ask
folks overall, they're concerned about healthcare costs, but are you
satisfied with the coverage you have right now? Overwhelmingly their
answer is yes, eighty two percent are very or.
Speaker 13 (26:57):
Somewhat satisfied with their existing coverage.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
And is that really true? But what happens?
Speaker 2 (27:04):
We saw this again when the Republicans got close and
McCain was the vote that ended up saving Obamacare. When
you're going to take something away from people, even though
they may not like it, it gains a like a
kind of a groundswell of support. And the reason is
(27:25):
you haven't replaced it with something else. You haven't shown
people something else. And we're going to dig in deeper
to healthcare next hour. But there's no doubt that the
Republicans are trying to figure out what they're going to do.
And don't be surprised if you know they start. You're
going to start hearing about more and more that are
going to be retiring, stepping away from Congress in the
(27:47):
coming weeks, in month, month and a half because they
see the writing on the wall. Some of them, yes,
I think they feel that way. On the other side
of it is it also because they're frustrated. They're done
with political machine as they see it now, which to
them is becoming full of anger, full of hate. And
(28:08):
they're frustrated. They're very, very frustrated, which is understandable. I
get frustrated, as you guys know. I mean, it's it's crazy.
It is it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
It's crazy the way that this world has become.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
I mean, this weekend you had Erica Kirk on CBS,
which was I don't know what the hell it was.
But what I will tell you guys is apparently Erica
and Candice have met, and we'll talk about that a
little bit later. But I mean, that's where we are at.
Charlie Kirk's assassination. We've had two assassination attempts on Trump
in the last what sixteen months, eighteen months. We've had
(28:50):
just way too much pissed off, angry people. We need
to bring the temperature down now, we need to bring
the temp you're down. But frustration when it comes to
the average person, the cost of life, and you can't
(29:11):
even talk about it if you're on the right about affordability,
because there's a fear out there. No you need to
address it. You want to win again, you need to
address it. You want to hold on to to the house.
You need to address it and hope that things are
going to change come the new year. Isn't a real plan.
(29:38):
Let me know what you think. Three two, three, five,

(30:09):
We'll talk about that a little bit later. But a
lot of you, what do you think a mom should
be paid? A stay at home mom? And if she's
a stay at home mom, and she should be paid
X amount of dollars? Right? So what does that mean
for the dad when he comes home? Should he expect
certain things? Yes? Or no? If she doesn't provide certain things?

I told you guys.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
The number one and two song for the worst Christmas
Songs are awful, and they are they are. So let's
recap number five. I want to hippody mess for Christmas.
Number four those Barking Dogs. Number three was Don't Shoot
Me Santa by The Killers, about a serial killer who
(32:51):
is hunted by the hitman that is Santa Claus. But
number one and two separate themselves. Shall we get busy?
Speaker 15 (32:58):
No, it's time for the outdown of the worst Christmas
songs of all time.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
Lumber two Marry Christmas.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Oh my lord, I.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Don't even know how to even begin this, so we
will let the artist of said song talk a little
bit about it.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Song came out nineteen eighty two.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
He tiptoed through the tulips and while tiny Tim was
you know, died on stage and unique and odd, he
did a novelty Christmas song in nineteen eighty two about
the AIDS crisis.
Speaker 19 (33:37):
This song is not made to make fun of anybody.
This was not made for humor. Any saidistic humor. It's
hard to explain that this song was written in nineteen
eighty eighty one, just lying at two three in the morning,
an idea came to me. It sounded funny because AIDS
was a very, very minor word. The biggest thing about
(33:59):
Age Ayds was the candy reducing candies which they had.
It was way way before Rock Hudson's unfortunate death and
Liberachi's and the song you know. In fact, Tony wanted
me to record this five years later in here in Florida,
in near Miami, and my agent said, if you're at
(34:21):
that time, you know age was getting heavier, and he said,
if you record that song, I'm dropping you as an agent.
But at eighty one he even got a laugh out
of this before the tragedies came.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Yeah, so should we hear some of the horrific song
called Santa's Got the Aids this year?
Speaker 20 (34:41):
Santa Clause has got the aids this year, and he
won't be round to spread his Christmas chier loine deer
all look blue. They know what he's going through. Santa
Call has got the ads this year. He won't be
(35:06):
singing our whole hole, hole hole monny. He'll be yelling
out no, no, no, no, the nurses.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
It is just I don't even know what to say.
That's where they went with kids. Santa Claus got the
aids this year? Is your number two worst song ever?
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four twenty three
at Chad Benson Show? Is your expurance to YouTube.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Facebook and more?
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Are you in the Chad Benson Show and you're thinking yourself,
how can that be number two?
Speaker 3 (35:42):
What could be number one? Kids. Number one is so depressing.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
You have no idea, but you will tomorrow coming up
our number two of the program, more on what took
place in BONDEI Beach obviously the murder of Rob Reiner
and his wife.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Will also have an economy update.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
And as we talk about Christmas music, what makes a
great Christmas song? What makes that ear wig that sticks
with you all the time, We're going to talk about that's,
among other things. Reach out to us across all of
our social media. Our number two of the program, straight Ahead,
Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Tragedy Los Angeles. A star and his wife killed this morning.
Speaker 21 (37:00):
Hollywood mourning the loss of legendary film director Rob Reiner.
Reiner and his wife, Michelle were found dead in the
Los Angeles home from apparent stab wounds, according to a
source close to the family. Overnight police only saying they
found a seventy eight year old man and a sixty
eight year old woman in the Reiner's home and that
the LAPD is investigating it as an apparent homicide.
Speaker 18 (37:22):
We're calling it a death investigation. At this point. We
have to obtain a search warrant for the residents. As
soon as death is complied with, we will be conducting
a full crime see investigation.
Speaker 21 (37:32):
Authorities responding to a call around three point forty Sunday afternoon,
we have once inside the Reiner's home. They discovered that
two people deceased. Authorities saying they do not have a
suspect or a person of interest at this time.
Speaker 18 (37:49):
We've already been canvassing the neighborhood and speaking to residents
that live around this area. There's been no reports from
the neighbors regarding hearing anything or seeing anything that we
can release to the public.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Now. The family is the ones who are going to
be talked to. If you guys don't know anything about
his family. He's got two daughters, one adopted from his
first wife, which was Penny Marshall. The other three children
that he has, one daughter and two sons were with
(38:18):
his current wife or now deceased wife, who they had
a son by the name of Nick, who is kind
of the person of interest. It's what everybody's reporting is
it's one of the sons. Everybody's looking at Nick because
Nick had a troubled life. Drugs addiction was horrific in
and out of rehab starting at fifteen homelessness, and that
(38:41):
there had been some troubles, and he'd even talked about
the troubles. And that's kind of where everybody's looking at,
at least at this moment in time.
Speaker 21 (38:49):
Overnight police canvassing the Appland, Brentwood neighborhood with investigators saying
they intend to speak to every member of the Writer
family to quote get to the facts of the investigation.
Speaker 18 (39:00):
There are going to be many family members interviewed.
Speaker 21 (39:04):
Writer first gained fame is Archie Bunker's son in law,
nicknamed Meathead on all in the family.
Speaker 19 (39:09):
Bunker you figured that out, huh.
Speaker 21 (39:13):
But went on to a prolific career in his own
right as a writer and director with countless beloved films.
From this is spital Tap.
Speaker 14 (39:21):
Put it up to an exactly you love me too.
Speaker 21 (39:24):
So when Harry met South to stand by me and
a few good mens.
Speaker 6 (39:30):
I'm a lawyer and an officer in the United States
naming and you're under arrest.
Speaker 21 (39:35):
The Rider family confirmed their deaths and his statement writing,
we are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask
for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time. Now and investigations
underway with many unanswered questions about the death of a
Hollywood icon.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Yeah, so I don't know what you know at this moment,
what else there is to stay? He was rather shocking.
Hes two houses there in La right across the street
from each other. And by the way, I think one
of the houses he was in thirteen point five million dollars.
Money can do that, right, Drugs can do that. And
(40:17):
when you're stabbing somebody, it's very personal, you know, strangulation, stabbing,
those things are personal.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Things.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
And so that's why a lot of people are saying
that you know and being reported again, There'll be conspiracies,
There'll be all kinds of things that'll swirl around. The
reality is a guy that you know, I grew up
watching with my dad, Meathead, directed great movies.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
And yes he was a.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Lefty, but still, I mean, come on, let's put the
politics aside if we can for just a second, which
is hard in today's world to do, as we all know,
because well, well we love what fighting arguing in any time,
somebody can make and say horrific things and by doing
so race your profile. People will Although I've seen a
(41:10):
lot of people today, even on the right, who you
think would say some stuff said. Now, this is not
a time for politics, Nope, not a time for politics
at all. This is a time to say prayers. And
I agree speaking of prayers being said, the horrors of
what took place in Australia yesterday, father and son attacking
(41:33):
the first day of Hanukkah, and it was horrific. It
would have been worse had it not been for a
man who decided to risk it all, who told his
family he was going to die and went down and
took on one of the gunmen by attacking him from behind.
(41:54):
He was also wounded in the incident. One of the
gunmen is dead, the father, the son is in guarded condition.
Fifteen people are dead though, and it is a vile situation.
The anti Semitism, as we touched on this last hour,
I got several years ago, Well you don't like Israel,
this has nothing to do with Israel. Well you don't
(42:16):
like the Jews. Once again, Israel is not the Jews.
Just want to point that out. Israel is a nation
and their government is what their government is. Stop thinking
that when you criticize a government that you hate the people.
We don't do that anywhere else. Right, So when we
go and criticize Maduro, we don't say, well, we hate
(42:38):
all Venezuelans, we hate all Latinos. We don't do that,
but in this situation we do. And anti Semitism has
been on the rise, there's no doubt about that. But
settle down when you think that anybody who criticizes a
government also criticizes the people, which is not true. But
(43:04):
it was a horrible situation, and it was one man
who decided that he was going to go in and
put an end to it, at least make that effort,
and he did so, and.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
It was amazing.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
And if you haven't seen the video, it's freaking insane.
Dude sprints in there between cars at this park and
Bonde Beach and hits the guy from behind, takes the
gun away.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
And this is not a dude where you're like, that's Superman.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
No, that's a dude in like track soup bottoms and
a you know, a T shirt or a you know.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Golf shirt.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
Polo who thought he was going to die and threw
himself at this. It was insane.
Speaker 6 (43:49):
I think it's most it's the most unbelievable saying I've
ever seen a man walking up to a gunman who
had fired on the community and seeing handedly disarming him,
putting his own life at risk to save the lives
of countless other people. That man is a genuine hero,
and I've got no doubt that there are many many
(44:11):
people alive tonight as a result of his bravery.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Yeah, he thought he was going to die. And here's
the interesting thing. He's also of the Islamic faith. Forty
three year old Ahmed El Ahmed is father to when
the also Syrian born. He's a fruit shop owner. So
he told his family that he was going to die,
(44:38):
but he was going to do everything he can to
disarm the gunman.
Speaker 3 (44:44):
So it's what he told his cousin.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
Said he was going to go die, but tell my
family I love them and I went down to save
people's lives. So it's the horrors of terrorism, which is
what this is. How these people became radicalized is a
question they'll be asked, and this is terrorism. They said
that already, this is terrorism. There is believed to be
(45:13):
a ISIS flag or something similar to that found there.
Speaker 3 (45:19):
And so how they became radicalized.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
The guns, by the way, they were legal guns to
own and it's hard to own a gun in Australia.
On the good side of things, he's going to survive.
They started a go fundme campaign to raise funds for
him as he remains in hospital under observation. And by
the way, Biller Ackerman gave him one hundred thousand dollars.
(45:43):
It's over a million bucks five thousand donations already for
his heroics.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
He didn't do it for that.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
And it's so you think about the Islamic terrorists, right
who are coming after the Jews. Why we'll find out,
I'm sure in due time what it was about. Was
it about Palestine? Was it just who knows? But then
you also had a Muslim who came and thwarted this
(46:14):
just and the video is crazy because this dude just
went And again, this is not some dude who is
a superhero. This is not some guy who's super fit,
super like. This is not a Navy seal. This is
a guy who's like, I'm going for it. And he did,
and God bless him he did. From there we moved
(46:35):
to Brown University because again the nightmare continues. They thought
they had a gunman in custody, but alas that is
not true. Person they thought they had in custody was released,
which everybody was surprised about.
Speaker 9 (46:54):
So now what it's an alarming twist in this case.
We spoke with some students just yesterday were anxious about
coming out of their homes even after they thought a
person of interest had been detained. Now this investigation takes
a major step backwards, leaving many in this Providence community
grieving and afraid.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
So too dead, ten injured, and the person I thought
was the gunman they released.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Now it's on to the next investigation.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
They've released a video of somebody they think was the gunman.
And the question is was he a student, was he
not a student? Was it a love triangle? Was it terrorism?
Questions that they thought maybe then answered by taking this
guy in custody. Was a guy who was at twenty
four from Wisconsin, was in a hotel. They took him
(47:48):
into custody and they released him. So just a insane
weekend from Brown to Australia. Of course, Rob Reiner, not
a way you thought, Oh, it's gonna be quiet, right, like,
I mean, we're getting close to the holidays. Got another
few days and then these guys in Congress are all
going to go on their vacation because they haven't had
one in weeks.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Just nuts nuts.

(49:36):
the battle continues. What will happen? We discussed it straight
ahead Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (49:49):
You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
This week. Looks like it's going to be the last
opportunity for the Republicans and Democrats to figure something out
with healthcare. Do I think it's going to happen? I
think what might happen. The smart thing to happen is
kick the can down the road, a one year extension
on the subsidies and try to figure something out. Do
(50:12):
I think that's a possibility. I do, I do do.
I think it's a certainty that I don't. I think
it's fifty to fifty at this moment in time, fifty
to fifty. But they've got to do something, and I
think the Republicans recognize that.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
But their plan has been no plan.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
I'm gonna try to be mean. Oh my god, I
just don't media Republican way, media. No. They said they
had a plan for years, and where's that plan?
Speaker 3 (50:43):
Where is that plan?
Speaker 22 (50:45):
Senator to Cassidy, your healthcare bill gives Americans up to
fifteen hundred dollars in tax free accounts to spend on
healthcare rather than extend these expiring ACA subsidies. On Thursday,
your proposal failed fifty one to forty eight, as did
the Democratic proposal. So that means it looks like those
(51:07):
receiving ACA premium subsidies will see their costs go up
one hundred and fourteen percent. Bottom line here, did Republicans
simply wait too long to come up with a healthcare alternative.
Speaker 23 (51:21):
Let's just kind of recast the question. We've got to
do something for affordability for the people in the exchanges.
And I would say that the only thing that Democrats
would accept was something that would decrease the premiums. But
if a family has a six thousand dollars out of
pocket before they get into the strength of the insurance plan,
then frankly, the policy is catastrophic. It brings profit to
(51:44):
the insurance company but not benefit to the patient.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
Which is correct. But most people care about the premiums.
Let's not pretend that it's the price, right. It's like
when you go buy car, what do they say, you know, well,
how much is the No.
Speaker 3 (52:01):
I only care about it is how much? Is what's
my payment? What's my payment?
Speaker 2 (52:03):
What's my payment?
Speaker 15 (52:04):
Well?
Speaker 3 (52:04):
Can you ford what's my payment? What's my payment?
Speaker 2 (52:06):
The goal is to never have to use your insurance,
but payment is what people are talking about. The fact
is our entire system is completely trashed three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show.
Is your extrara insta YouTube and more right here in
the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
But it's not going to be fixed in the next
couple of days.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
And handing people, you know, fifteen hundred bucks for the year, great,
that sounds great. One thousand dollars for some but that
doesn't get you closer to better care, and you can't
use that to pay for premiums.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Let me know what you think.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
Well, what do you think they should do, Chad? I'm
glad you asked other Chad. Simple one year extension. Then
figure out how you can handle business. And I've been
saying this a one year extension and kick all of
the people out of the meeting for this who are
only there to try to push narratives and to try
(53:09):
to make sure that the other side looks bad and
that you can go out and talk to the public
as hey, hey, hey, public, it's their fault. No, it's
their fault, it's their fault. Oh my god, likes click shares. No,
you have to have serious people come together and figure
this out. The system is broken and it ain't gonna
(53:30):
get fixed this week. So that's why rather than rush
to put something out there that isn't going to benefit
the people and frustrate everybody, let's look at the alternative,
which is how do you make this workable for the
next year. Because remember, no matter what anybody's say, if
you're a Republican, the smart ones understand this, this is
(53:53):
going to land at their feet. Like it or not,
this is going to land at their feet. That's just
the reality of it. Three, two, three, five, three eight,
twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show is your ex,
your Insta, your YouTube, Facebook, and more. We know what
makes a bad Christmas song? What makes a good Christmas song?
(54:15):
We'll talk about that, among other things.
Speaker 24 (54:16):
Chad Benson Show, Sun Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
It is Christmas time, and we've talked a lot about
the horrors that took place this weekend, but we also
want to talk.
Speaker 3 (54:49):
About some fun stuff.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Okay, and yes, we did our worst Christmas song number two.
If you didn't hear it, we're gonna do it again
next hour. It is Some of you are like, there's
no way that's a real song. It is absolutely a
real song. It is done by tiny Tim That's all
I'm gonna tell you. If you missed it, grab the
podcast or listen next hour. But now this what is
the anatomy? How do you put together how do you
(55:13):
craft a Christmas hit?
Speaker 3 (55:17):
That's truly the million dollar question.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
Yes, not roasting.
Speaker 14 (55:25):
Every year, some of the greatest songs in the world
pop up in our playlists although.
Speaker 19 (55:31):
It's been sad many times, many words married Christmas.
Speaker 14 (55:40):
Most of them are decades old or even centuries. If
anyone knows what makes a Christmas song immortal, it's Berkeley
School of Music forensic musicologist Joe Bennett. He's analyzed the
holiday pop charts to learn exactly what makes popular Christmas
(56:02):
songs popular.
Speaker 2 (56:04):
Yeah, I'd like to know, because the more that we
do that, the more that I can write my hit,
so I can have my hit and count my dollars show.
Speaker 25 (56:14):
They're basically academic studies of large numbers of Christmas songs
to try and figure out what are the musical characteristics
that listeners keep coming back to again and again over
the years.
Speaker 14 (56:29):
Okay, well thematically, what are the characteristics.
Speaker 3 (56:32):
Home for the holiday?
Speaker 25 (56:33):
Home for the holidays is actually the most common one.
You have weather themed songs, you know, let it snow,
and you have a lot around the myth of Santa Claus.
Speaker 14 (56:43):
In fact, Bennett found that most Christmas hits are about
one of only six things. The other biggies are parties,
being in love and being out of love, which brings
us to the number one Christmas hit of recent years.
(57:06):
It's Mariah Carey's hit from nineteen ninety four.
Speaker 25 (57:10):
All I Want for Christmas Is You is a remarkable
lyric because it hits most of the Christmas theme tropes,
so we get Christmas Presents in the tree and Santa
Clause and the snow. That lyric is so well loved
as a holiday celebration song because it's literally got it all.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
It does, it does, It's got it all and love
is big. And if you don't think that's true, there's
a reason that everybody watches these Hallmark shows, which, by
the way, I have on right now. Are you watching CNN,
MS NOW, Fox, any of the other shows? Nope, I haven't.
Currently I'm watching let Me Tell You We Wish You
(57:55):
a Married Christmas, which is as it's in the background, obviously,
it's about hitting the right notes. It's about a feeling
and music can evoke an emotion.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
There's no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
Hey, I have a number one hit every year, but
it's the same song every year.
Speaker 14 (58:20):
A few years back, we visited Walter Afanasief, who wrote
that song. With Mariah we.
Speaker 8 (58:26):
Just kind of like go bouncing off of each other
like a bet a jam session.
Speaker 6 (58:32):
Now we could have gone.
Speaker 26 (58:33):
Christmas is what we want for Chrisprissmas.
Speaker 7 (58:42):
As it goes. That's awesome, Doctor old rock and roll.
Speaker 17 (58:52):
No one in a million years would have thought, yeah,
we're going to release this and it's going.
Speaker 2 (58:56):
To be a big hit. Well not only is it
a big hit, it continues to be it. See, that's
just it. That's why when you write a song, you
write a summer theme. It's for that summer. People may
like it, but it's for the summer. Valentine's there's really
nothing there. New Year's, eh. Now, you can have some
fun with the monster mash things of that nature, right,
(59:19):
that's cool. But Christmas. See, with Halloween, it's really about
the day or two before.
Speaker 3 (59:26):
Halloween and Halloween night.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
When you're playing those, you're not playing the monster mash
four weeks, five weeks before Halloween, with All I Want
for Christmas and all these other things, you're playing them
all the time. See, it's about understanding and this is
what we're doing. Guys. When we write this song and
we give it to Oomph, then it becomes a hit
because we check all those boxes that make you feel good.
(59:51):
So whether you're in love, want to be in love,
love Christmas Sad presence all of the things. It works,
and then every year, six weeks we count our paychecks.
Speaker 14 (01:00:03):
And what does Mariah's hit heave in common with most
other Christmas hits?
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Sleigh belts.
Speaker 25 (01:00:08):
We found that more than sixty five percent of the
songs in the Corpus had sleigh bells playing eight to
the bar. In the mid eighteen hundreds, the horses would
actually wear sleigh bells to warn people that they were coming.
So you can imagine the sort of leather across the
horse's maine there and the I'm gonna make a heck
(01:00:31):
of a noise as it's you're not going to miss that,
that deadly sleigh is coming up behind you. You can
imagine a horse trotting to that, and it's eighth notes. Oh,
the horses unwittingly, unwittingly pre composing Christmas music from one
hundred years afterwards.
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
See, we're starting to get it, so chinch, all of
it's starting to come together. We're using nature, we're using
it off our kids. Are you writing this down again?
And this is the anatomy of how to put together
a hit song that we were working so hard to
do so we can enjoy our lives in the way
and the accustomed we have dreamed of and deserve, which
is luxury.
Speaker 14 (01:01:11):
Then there are the technical aspects of a piece of music.
Speaker 25 (01:01:14):
This is something like ninety eight percent of what they've
said that we looked at was in a major.
Speaker 14 (01:01:19):
Key because major is associated with happy.
Speaker 25 (01:01:22):
Well generally yes, if you on the surface level of
Christmas music tends to be cheerful. The other characteristic that
Christmas music has is you want every generation to be
able to sing it. So that's why kids songs are
often very simple and go over smaller intervals.
Speaker 14 (01:01:40):
Like jinger bells.
Speaker 20 (01:01:45):
Wow. So the whole thing is five.
Speaker 25 (01:01:47):
Notes, five notes, and that's why kids find it easy.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
To sing, five notes, easy to sing.
Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
Write this down, so we got all of the holiday
magic right, the feelings love, want to find love, Santa Claus,
the weather, the the with the bells, all of that
stuff we're starting to come together. And then you make
it simple with little umphony dumpany.
Speaker 14 (01:02:10):
And sure enough, almost every popular Christmas song on earth
has an easily singable range of eight or nine notes.
Speaker 25 (01:02:19):
So let's say we have playing a simple descending major
scale of sea.
Speaker 14 (01:02:22):
A surprising number of famous Christmas melodies go right up
or down the scale. The scale is also the basis
of let it Snow and the Christmas Song and Winter Wonderland.
(01:02:49):
And why do we think that so many Christmas songs
wound up with these characteristics. It's not like the composer
sat down and said four four major key swing.
Speaker 25 (01:03:00):
No, it's the selection effect. That is, we only know
the Christmas songs that we know and love. We ignore
the experimental ones that just died in the marketplace.
Speaker 3 (01:03:09):
Which we've played. Some of those we have, and some
of them have been hits.
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
But do you guys see what we're doing here. We're
putting it all together. We're wrapping it up in a
big bow for our smash number one Christmas song. All right, simple, easy.
The problem experimental not gonna work, okay. Second thing is
we're too many people are trying to remake the wheel.
(01:03:37):
Too many people are trying to be experimental. Too many
people are trying to take it out of the hands
of the people that enjoy it and make it more
something for the critics, like did you like my Chris?
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
No, I didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:03:48):
It's stupid. It's ridiculous, Keep it simple, stupid, count your dollars, shoe.
Speaker 27 (01:03:52):
My whole family is obsessed with Christmas. We had our
decorations up way before Thanksgiving.
Speaker 14 (01:03:58):
Carrie Butler is a veteran of twelve Broadway shows, including Hairspray,
Mean Girls, and Beetlejuice. She knows her way around a song.
Is there something to you that a Christmas song does
emotionally that a pop song doesn't.
Speaker 27 (01:04:14):
Yeah, I think it's the nostalgia. It brings back all
of these memories when we were little, singing them with
our parents, and now we're older and we're singing them
with our kids.
Speaker 14 (01:04:22):
We have a special surprise for our viewers. As you know,
based on the data I have studied on what makes
a great Christmas song, I've written one and you have
gracefully agreed to sing.
Speaker 13 (01:04:33):
It for us.
Speaker 27 (01:04:34):
Yes, I'm very excited now.
Speaker 14 (01:04:36):
Walter Afanasief and Joe Bennett both say that just including
all the traditional musical ingredients doesn't automatically make a song great.
Speaker 7 (01:04:46):
It's not like a formula or an algorithm.
Speaker 25 (01:04:49):
Obviously, if it were easy, a lot more people would
be doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
It's not easy, but don't make it harder than it should.
Now you know the anatomy of how to write a
great Christmas song. If you don't mind, you'll stay out
a fill and my way so we can write our
great number one hit, so we can enjoy the life
again that we've been accustomed to and that we deserve.
Because all I want for Christmas is star now just

you've come to the perfect place for takeout.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
It's that time of the day where we educate ourselves.
All of us need education each and every day. I
try to educate myself, not on just what's happening globally
on the financial side of the world, the polls, the
horrors that we see, but also with what the youth
are doing, what the youth are saying.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
You know what time it is.
Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
Now, it's time for the urban word of the day.
The young have a vocabulary all their own, and we
break it down for you. It's called the urban word
of the day. Who I like this one?
Speaker 3 (01:07:44):
I heard this.
Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
From some older kids and I thought, was that real?
Looked it up. Sure enough it is vibe session. Vibe session.
What the hell's a vibe session? I'll tell you that
right now. It's a significant, widespread and pro long downturn
and for government due to irresponsible policies and or financial incompetence.
Can I use it in a sentence? Yes, we will
(01:08:07):
spend six point three billion to tackle the vibe session.
Oh yes, yes, yes. The kids also feel the vibe session.
What's going on out there? So you guys understand what's
happening with the vibe session. The vibes aren't good. People
feel like there's a little bit of a recession in
the vibes and we need to fix that. If you
(01:08:28):
know what I mean. When you hear that, you'll know
exactly what it means. Your urban word of today is
vibe session.
Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
That was the urban word of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
Now, you know, always good to know, Like how much
is to stay at home mom?
Speaker 12 (01:08:42):
If you are a stay at home mom, you should
be receiving a salary from your husband. If you are
a stay at home mom otherwise known as a non
compensated working mom, and you are married to a man,
your husband, the compensated partner, should be paying for the
uncompensated labor. And yeah, there's gonna be a lot of
pissed off men in the comments. But try to replace you,
(01:09:07):
Try to replace a stay at home mom, you're gonna
be paying for a chauffeur, a chef, nanny, a project
manager for the house. In fact, recent data has shown
that stay at home mom's non compensated working parents, if
you had to pay them a salary, it would be
at least one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars a year.
(01:09:27):
So if you are a non compensated working mom, if
you are a stay at home mom, you deserve a
salary from your husband.
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
I said it, there you go, she said that, So
there you go. Non compensated moms they are kind of compensated, right,
I mean, they've chosen to be with this man and
they have a child together, and so I'm just putting
this out there. I just want everybody understand. Say, they've
chosen they have a child together. Okay, So one hundred
(01:09:57):
and seventy five geese feels like it's a bit much.
So we did a real breakdown on a few studies
that are out there. Core rolls as a stay at
home mom covering full time childcare, one of two kids,
part time house cleaning, meal prep and cooking, laundry and
household management, transportation, enterrants, administrative and scheduling. On the higher end,
(01:10:19):
fifty nine grand. Now we're going to take ten thousand
dollars away because that is also your child. So there's that.
Oh okay, yeah, Now if you want to add in
some extra duties, we can do that, including infant care
once again your child. So this would be ten to
fifteen thousand. We're going to go ten thousand, homeschooling and support,
(01:10:40):
five to ten thousand nightcare on you know, three to six,
so it can get up to sixty five seventy. So
but let's just say sixty grand, all right, So sixty
k for for you again, your stay at home mom.
But it is a home that you're in and that
you were not paying for. Oh so there's that the
food you're not paying for. If we go on vacation,
(01:11:03):
obviously you're not paying for it. I mean, we're going
to do this. And also as a man, does the
man get the right to have their say in the
way this goes? If stuff isn't done correctly, if you're
having to fix everything, if it's a hot mess in
the house, if you don't get the things that you
value that you're paying for in your mind, do you
(01:11:26):
get to put them on a pimp performance improvement plan?
You get to write them up? So there's a lot
of things to go into this, healthcare things of that nature.
Just a question, just a question, indeed. And by the way,
most men would say for one hundred and seventy five
grand els dow home go, well, that's not very manly.
Oh it's on hundred and seventy five. Jesus can hang
(01:11:47):
with my kid all day. Oh yeah, and then what
happens what happens when your kids go to school? You're
part time at that point? Oh, never thought of that.
Three two three, five, three, eight, twenty four, twenty three
at Chad Benson Show. It's your ex your Insta, your YouTube,
your Facebook and more.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
If you miss any of the show, shame on.
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
You should never miss any of the show. But if
you do, make sure you reach out and grab that
podcast and like and subscribe on all of our socials.
That really helps us out right here on The Chad
Benson Show. Coming up, our number three of the program,
the latest on Rob Reiner and his wife being found dead,
stabbed to death in their home in Los Angeles. It's
(01:12:28):
going on globally, especially when it comes to the terror
attack at Bondi Beach in Australia, and a bunch of
other things as well, including a guy that was very
hardcore Trump fan who is now really taking to the
satire of what is going on in the politics of today.
(01:12:48):
Something we've talked about for a very long time. We'll
talk about that. We got a little what's trending, and yes,
the number two of the world's worst Christmas songs and
you're gonna want to hear this one our number three
straight ahead Chat, Benson Chat.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
This is the Chad Benson Show. The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Tragedy overnight in Los Angeles. Rob Reiner one of the
real big players in Hollywood, not just writer, but a writer,
a director, an actor, a person who is you know,
one of the talents in Hollywood. And I'm taking you know,
(01:13:53):
a lot of people want to put politics in this.
I'm not going to do that. Yes, he was a
you know, av out lefty. I don't care. He was
a human being stabbed to death along with his wife
in his home in Los Angeles. How what took place?
What is going to happen from here? Who are the suspects?
Those are things that will be I mean, they think
(01:14:15):
they have somewhat of the suspect in mind, and we've
touched on it. You know, drugs are awful and horrible.
Family dynamics when drugs are involved are again awful and horrible.
We don't know what's going on in people's lives, but
his son Nick kind of has risen to the top
(01:14:35):
of this, and the LAPD said, look, they're going to
investigate hard, but the focus is on the family. Nick
has had drug problems, been homeless, he's had you know,
problems for years of in and out of rehab. So
that's kind of where the focus is on this but
a shock to say the least.
Speaker 28 (01:14:53):
And invesciation code to a neighbor tells ABC News. After
police survived, actors Billy Crystal and Larry David visited the home,
with one neighbor saying Billy Crystal looked like he was
about to cry. Police have now closed off the area
as the investigation continues.
Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Then the investigation again hyper focused on the family at
this moment in time. They said they looked, They've talked
to the neighbors, nobody heard anything crazy and his wife
Michelle Singer Reiner and him were both found on the
floor had gone into cardiac arrest when they arrived.
Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
And they were stabbed.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
And a stabbing is a very personal thing, kind of
like when you smother somebody or choke. It's a very
personal thing. And it's not a you know, we see
these things on TV's and it's over.
Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
It's not that.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
And that usually means some being you know, personal or
somebody close to them. And that's why many outlets reporting
it was their son. But the last we don't know
alleged and we'll find out in the coming days, I
am sure, but a horrible situation.
Speaker 3 (01:16:05):
This whole weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
You think, oh, it's going to be a good week right,
you know, it's like we're not too far. What do
we ten days away from Christmas? How pomped are we?
We should be getting excited. Hanakah's here. I'm part Jewish,
very excited for the Honkkah? And then how does that
start in Australia. I'th already say.
Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
The bloodshed could have been much worse if not for
the heroic actions of a bystander. That man, who police
have identified as Ahmad al Ahmad, confronted one of the
gunmen by jumping from behind a car, wrestling for control
of the weapon, and disarming him. Ahmand suffered multiple gunshot
wounds and is currently recovering at the hospital.
Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
Which is amazing if you haven't seen it. But sixteen
dead if you want to include the gunman father and
son who did this on the first night of Hanukkah,
the attacks were terroristic nature. The person who was the
(01:17:07):
hero of the day, and we've been playing this throughout
the day and this is Chris Mims, who is kind
of like think of him as.
Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
The mayor of the area. He is the premier they
call him.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
He talking about the heroics of Ahmed Alhahmed, who ran
in through parked cars and jumped a dude who had
a gun. I don't think he had training by the
looks of it. This was not a seal. He's a
Syrian refugee. He lives in Australia. He runs a fruit
stand and he took it upon himself. Told his nephew,
(01:17:41):
tell my family, I love them. I'm going to go
do this. I'm probably gonna die. Tell them I love
them to death, and went and did this.
Speaker 6 (01:17:50):
I think it's most it's the most unbelievable, sayne, I've
ever seen a man walking up to a gunman who
had fired on the community and single handedly disarming him,
putting his own life at risk to save the lives
of countless other people. That man is a genuine hero,
and I've got no doubt that there are many many
(01:18:11):
people alive tonight as a result of his bravery.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
Yeah, no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
Just incredible, and it's it is surreal to watch because
it's you know, it's Bondai Beach, so you have all
of these people they're celebrating and then this guy's just
these two guys are shooting and they're legal gun owners,
which is hard in Australia.
Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
It isn't easy to get a gun.
Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
And so they're shooting off these guns and he is
kind of maneuvering between cars and he just goes up
and he jumps right. I mean, this is this guy
who's got looks like tracksuit bottoms on that are too
short and a polo shirt and he wrestles the gun
away just you know, like strength, just rips it out
(01:18:58):
of his hand. That's the gun of the guy, but
doesn't shoot. And then another guy comes up and throws
like a rock or a cell phone at him. But
then he gets wounded, and that's when he thought he
was going to die, and lo and behold, he didn't.
And as of now, over five thousand donations, including Bill
Ackerman one hundred thousand dollars for him. So it's a
(01:19:22):
very interesting thing when you think about the fact that
here is some radicalized how they became radicalized, father and
son who take to killing innocent people. And as that
is all going on, you have somebody who is also
a Muslim who says, no, not on my watch, not
(01:19:46):
on my watch. Now, Heightened security globally, including in New
York and elsewhere.
Speaker 16 (01:19:52):
Organizers of the Menora lighting here are part of the
same group that stayed the doomed event on Bondai Beach,
and they said they would not be cowed into canceling.
So the police brought in extra officers, specialized patrols, and
heavy weapons teams to fortify the plaza, and that security
is going to persist all week for the duration of Hanukkah,
the start of the winter holiday season, which this year's
(01:20:15):
law enforcement officials say comes with the added threat of
heightened violence.
Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
Just disgusting that we have to do that in this
day and age. And then it coursed you the horrors
of two soldiers and an interpreter being killed in Syria
by a lone isis gunman. And from there you also
then had the brown shooting and they have somebody, then
they didn't have somebody, and lo and behold.
Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
Where are we now, kay Amne.
Speaker 9 (01:20:44):
We just listened to John and tell us where we
are in this investigation.
Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
What's your first reaction?
Speaker 29 (01:20:50):
I think it's kind to call in a manhunt right now,
in the sense that manhunt generally means you know who
you're looking for, if at least from what we know publicly.
They really are only have the backshot that we don't
even know the identity, race or visuals of the face
of the person that they're looking for.
Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
So, as John was saying, you sort.
Speaker 29 (01:21:09):
Of have to do a regroup, that regroup is happening
in two ways.
Speaker 2 (01:21:12):
One is take a.
Speaker 29 (01:21:13):
Step back and figure out whether where they're looking is
the right place to look. He had to have slept somewhere,
he had to get gas if he went on nine
ninety five. The second is the regroup of what we
call the sort of incident command.
Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
And you saw that last night.
Speaker 29 (01:21:28):
I had never seen a local jurisdiction essentially throw the
FBI under the bus, not just saying we're in charge,
but saying, look that lead that led us to the
person of interest, who ended up not being the person
of interest essentially was run by the FBI.
Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
They said so explicitly that right there is senior national
security analyst and former Assistant Secretary of Department of Homeland
Security Truliet Kayman, and talking about the fact that they've
thrown the FBI under the bus. Well, they really thought
they had the guy person of interest and they didn't,
(01:22:05):
and they've since released him. He was a twenty four
year old from Wisconsin staying at a hotel. They thought
they had this guy, and no, and of course the motive.
Everybody's looking for the motive, and it could be anything,
person who didn't get into college, a person who was
angry because the love of his life cheated on him
and left him. I mean, you don't know what it was.
(01:22:26):
Could it have been terrorist tacked? Yeah, you just don't know,
mental illness. Of course, again, don't know whatever it was.
It was sick and disgusting and cowardice. So I'm sure
over the next couple of days, the unfortunately, the conspiracy
theories will run wild and it'll be a few days
before we probably know at least somewhat where they're going
(01:22:50):
with the investigation.
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
And if they do get the next person, is that
person it?
Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
Because I saw a lot of people last night jumping
on and going we found and we got him. We
got him, And I like, I don't think you did
take your time. Take your time measure twice cut ONTs three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three act she had Benson show,
is your et, your insta, YouTube, Facebook and more? Love
hearing from all of you throughout the day, we have
(01:23:16):
been asking the question what's a stay at home mom worth?
Speaker 3 (01:23:20):
Because a woman's come.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
Out and she says it's one hundred and seventy five
thousand dollars. That's what the stay at home mom should get.
Because the sort of some study came out and we
look for the study, I'm like, I can't find any
study like that, and.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
We broke it down.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
Could be anywhere between, you know, forty five thousand up
to seventy thousand dollars. Right, you could adjust had for
you know, for California or New York. But I don't
know what she is saying, but so many of you
are saying what the people also said on the internet,
(01:23:52):
which is okay. So if my wife is to stay
at home mom, she's my employee. We're not partners in this.

Understandable angry and obviously the big story of the day,
Rob Reiner found dead. What a career he had though,
What a career that he had. You know, we could
sit here and we've talked about the crime. We've talked

was amazing. You are at meet.

Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
You know what we do.
Speaker 1 (01:29:52):
Put it up to a land that bent exactly.
Speaker 30 (01:29:53):
Reyner would emerge as a versatile director with his documentary
about a fake band.
Speaker 18 (01:29:57):
This is final tap.
Speaker 30 (01:30:02):
From there, he would continue to rattle off hit after
hit with memorable films such as stand by.
Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
Me, Yeah, and that wasn't It, Princess Bride, which was
one of my favorite movies. I loved it was awesome.
It was awesome, And you know, we'll find out what
has taking place. There's gonna be a lot of rumors. Obviously,
the focus is on the sun and that's pretty much
about it. As the police said, they're not really looking
(01:30:27):
and what happened Again, there'll be all kinds of I'm
sure conspiracy theories. As we all know, they're everywhere in
this day and age, which is sad. Three two, three, five,

The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
We moved from the horrors and chaos of well what
we've seen over the last several days, especially this weekend,
to a different kind of chaos and potential horrors, which
is the economy stupid.
Speaker 31 (01:31:36):
Had an outlet mall in nash build the hunt is
on for the perfect gift that's affordable.
Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
When you've got a lot of people to buy presents for,
you know, I kind of got to divvy up that budget.
Speaker 31 (01:31:44):
Says shopper Bennett Roach.
Speaker 21 (01:31:45):
Everybody gets a little slice of the pie. But the pie,
you know, it was getting smaller and smaller every year.
Speaker 31 (01:31:50):
In the latest Gallipol, twenty seven percent of consumer said
the economy is improving. Sixty eight percent think it's getting worse.
Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
That's not good. It's not just Nashville. Globally, we've seen
a slow down in a lot of places, but here
in America, which is what we care about. Yeah, there's
a slowdown. Let's not pretend and this is about for
the Republicans, here's the thing. This should be about us.
What's going on in the economy should be about us.
Affordability should be about us. They're worried about being reelected.
(01:32:20):
I'm worried about us. Okay, that's what I'm worried about.
Speaker 32 (01:32:24):
As we hit the heart of the holiday shopping season,
a new poll from the Associated Press shows a vast
majority of Americans are noticing higher than usual prices on groceries, electricity.
Speaker 18 (01:32:36):
And gifts. Maybe you should get that.
Speaker 33 (01:32:38):
Nisha Davis Johnson is Christmas shopping for her granddaughter and
checking prices carefully.
Speaker 18 (01:32:43):
It's just so expensive to live in the US right now.
Speaker 14 (01:32:47):
So anyway we can get a break a deal, we'll
keep on. Anything like that, we're going.
Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
To go for it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Coopon's you got a coopon, Grab the coupon, so ap gallup,
we can go on and on. There are a lot
of them out there, even Rasmussen that's very favorable to Trump. Yes,
and this is not a slight to Trump. Here's the thing.
We should be able to have this conversation about what
the hell's going on in the economy without people going,
oh my god, you hate the Republicans. Know the reality
(01:33:15):
of if you want to win, address the issue. If
you want to win more than address the issue, come
at the issue in a way where you talk about, Look,
there's some crap going down. We're doing everything we can
in our power to fix this, and it is not
going to be simple and it is not going to
be easy.
Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
But what we're doing is for.
Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
The betterment of the country today, tomorrow, and the future.
Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
Shouldn't be this hard.
Speaker 33 (01:33:41):
A new poll finds roughly half of Americans say they're
finding it harder than usual to afford holiday gifts this year,
and forty percent are having to dip into their savings.
Sixty eight percent view the country's economy as poor. That's
in sharp contrast with how President Trump rated himself on
the economy this past week A plus, A plus.
Speaker 7 (01:34:03):
A plus plus plus plus plus.
Speaker 33 (01:34:05):
In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, the
President said, well, he's created a great economy.
Speaker 14 (01:34:10):
Quote, it may take people a while to figure all
these things out.
Speaker 2 (01:34:14):
They're really hoping that the first of the year, because
of the one big, beautiful, very big goes into effect,
that things are going to turn around.
Speaker 3 (01:34:27):
I don't know if that's true or not.
Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
I continue to say this, I want the economy to
be both rocking and rolling. I do not think we
are going to fall off a cliff right where you
see some of those you know, the Democrats. They're doing
their job that they're supposed to do. But I'm also
not fooling myself and thinking that this is going to
be smooth sailing, because it's the cyclical side of things.
(01:34:49):
We've been in a runaway freight train for quite a
while when it comes to the economy, and yes, we
overprinted money, and we had inflation. We had of course
COVID started all of that stuff. So there's a lot
of issues that go along with this. So I don't
think the world's coming to an end, but I'd be
lying if I didn't think there's some serious issues out
(01:35:11):
there that need to be addressed.
Speaker 33 (01:35:14):
With less financial flexibility, Americans are pulling back on charity.
The Salvation Army says it's hurting for donations in a
time of great need.
Speaker 34 (01:35:24):
The demand for our services have been up twenty to
twenty five percent across the country, while at the same time,
so far this Christmas season, the Kevil effort has been
a down about five percent of many parts of the country.
Speaker 32 (01:35:39):
Now, we have not seen a report on hiring since
September because of the government shut down, but new numbers
are set to be released on Tuesday, and new data
on consumer prices and how Americans are feeling about their
finances and the economy overall is also set to be
released this week.
Speaker 3 (01:35:56):
I don't know if I believe those numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:35:57):
We'll see what they look like. I mean, fed chair
came out last week and said, I don't know if
I believe the numbers that are coming out as far
as job lost, because it's hard to tell. And then
of course you fire the Bureau of Labor Statistics head
and say they're doing a horrible job. And it's just
a very antiquated system anyways, so it's a hard thing
(01:36:19):
to tell on exactly where we stand. Go with the
gut feeling. Talk to people, and I've been out and
about shopping, and you know what people are pulling back.
People are nervous, and so yeah, they're giving. One person says,
I'm giving more thoughtful gifts, less about the money, and
(01:36:40):
I'm like, I could totally see that. That's why this
year I'm just getting everybody hugs that's very thoughtful of me,
not for me, from other people, hugs to other people.
It's what we're doing here, kids. What are the other issues? Right?
When you talk about the economy is what healthcare? So
last week flamed out. Republicans and Democrats said it didn't
(01:37:01):
go the way they thought.
Speaker 22 (01:37:01):
Your healthcare bill gives Americans up to fifteen hundred dollars
in tax free accounts to spend on healthcare, rather than
extend these expiring ACA subsidies. On Thursday, your proposal failed
fifty one to forty eight, as did the Democratic proposal.
So that means it looks like those receiving ACA premium
(01:37:25):
subsidies will see their costs go up one hundred and
fourteen percent. Bottom line here, did Republicans simply wait too
long to come up with a healthcare alternative.
Speaker 23 (01:37:36):
Let's just kind of recast the question. We've got to
do something for affordability for the people in the exchanges.
And I would say that the only thing that Democrats
would accept was something that would decrease the premiums.
Speaker 7 (01:37:49):
But if a family has a.
Speaker 23 (01:37:50):
Six thousand dollars out of pocket before they get into
the strength of the insurance plan, then frankly, the policy
is catastrophic. It brings profit to the ens insurance company,
but not benefit to the patient.
Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
Very true that right there is Senator to Cassidy, who
is a doctor, and they're trying to figure something out.
This is my solution, one year extension. Put it back
on the Democrats. Republicans, be smart. If you don't, you're
going to get served even bigger, even bigger next November,
(01:38:28):
because if you go out there and you do, Hey,
we want to extend it for a year. Give us
the opportunity to really sit down and come up with
bipartisan ways to fix this. What happens, well, it's back
in their court. If the Democrats say, now we're not
going to do it for a year, we want three
or nothing, you say, that's fine, you wanted three or nothing.
We wanted to do it for a year and have
a real discussion about this a bipartisan way. We want
(01:38:50):
to come to an agreement here that we think will
benefit the people. The real benefit is you guys should
have got out of it a long time ago. But
alas you're in it and you've sold your soul. So
from the political side, do it for a year. Do
it for a year. Cassidy wants to give you an
HSA account fifteen hundred or a thousand, that's what it's
(01:39:12):
going to be, which isn't going to really help you
when it comes to the thing that matters most that
most people talk about. It's like when you go buy
a car. When you buy a car, what's the thing
you're worried about? What's my payment going to be? You
don't care if it's a million years if you want
that car, as long as the payment is something you
feel is affordable. Because most people don't feel they're ever
(01:39:32):
going to have to use their healthcare, that's the goal.
Speaker 3 (01:39:36):
By the way, the goal is never to.
Speaker 2 (01:39:39):
Use your health care, or at least the insurance, not
the health care, but they never use it outside of
a physical once in a while.
Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
That should be the goal.
Speaker 23 (01:39:48):
So I would argue that it actually is. There has
to be a meeting to the minds between Democrats and Republicans.
Let's acknowledge you've got to put cash in the patient's
pocket to pay the out of pocket. I would be
willing to do a short term extension of the premium
tax credits for those people with higher premiums if they
(01:40:09):
will concede that we've got to do something for the
six thousand dollars out of pocket.
Speaker 7 (01:40:13):
I think there's a deal to be had here. We
need to push for that deal.
Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
And so the fifteen hundred or one thousand whatever it
is going to go right into your HSA account, which
you're like, oh, okay, that's fine, but you can't pay
premiums with your HSA account, So your premiums are going
to go up on average, what one hundred and fourteen percent?
So what does that mean? And remember you're thinking, well,
this is only seven percent of the country. It's not
just that. As this pool shrinks, where do you think
(01:40:41):
is going to happen? Because chances are people are unhealthy
are going to be in this pool. They're going to
do everything they can to pay it. Other people are younger,
it's like, screw it, I'm going to roll the dice.
You're going to see it start to translate to higher
premiums across the board, which we're already seeing. So it's
not just it's no big deal. There has to be
a real solution to this.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
But you're going to.
Speaker 2 (01:41:01):
Both have to come together and Republicans, whether you like
it or not, this falls on you at this moment
in time because you're in charge.
Speaker 22 (01:41:07):
So you want to make sure that the average deductible
is less than six thousand dollars is what I just
heard you say there, And you're open to an.
Speaker 23 (01:41:16):
Absolutely the net deductible if you will that fifteen hundred
dollars is per person. Give me a couple for people
over fifty, Give me a couple in their fifties with
two children. Eighteen nineteen, they would get five thousand dollars
in an account in their purse.
Speaker 7 (01:41:33):
Pocketbook, you name it, in their pocket to pay the
out of pocket for the insurance. Now, the insurance plan
for that couple would be six thousand dollars deductible, So you.
Speaker 23 (01:41:44):
End up decreasing the net deductible by doing this. That
makes the policy actually functional for them. If the child
has this plained ankle, you bring to the urgent care,
you can pay the bill, not kind of come with it,
come forward.
Speaker 7 (01:41:57):
Out of your own pocket. By the way I told it, about.
Speaker 23 (01:42:00):
Forty percent of Americans have less than one thousand dollars
in their savings account.
Speaker 7 (01:42:05):
That kind of puts into relief.
Speaker 23 (01:42:07):
Why you need to have something in their pocket to
pay the out of pocket.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
Sounds I don't even know what to say at this
point in time. So you're going to give somebody a
family five thousand dollars, but that's for their to cover,
not the premiums the deductible. So if the premiums go
from four hundred to nine hundred, you still have to
cover those. And how many people use their HSA account.
I'll be honest, I didn't use my HSA account the
(01:42:32):
last couple of months, so we really have it. And
you know, I talked to a couple of bill at
work who've had it. They're like, I forgot even had it.
So yes, I see where they're going with this. It's
understandable what they're trying to do. But this doesn't fix again,
the ridiculous costs and the frustration that people feel with healthcare.
(01:42:53):
Most people feel like, look, I'll pay six, eight, ten,
twelve grand if I have to if something catastrophic happens,
which is really what we should want, not the catastrophic,
but give us the Hey at twelve or fifteen grand,
I'm going to cover that. Anything after that. The government
covers everything up into that, including the day to day
(01:43:16):
if I have to get prescriptions, if I have to
get X, Y and Z, I will cover, go to
the doctor, flu shot, whatever, it is, the normal, just
everyday stuff. But for a lot of people, go look
at your deductible, you go and you cover it, doesn't
mean that that's it. The rest of it. You're still
(01:43:36):
going to have to cover in some cases a ton
of money. And by the way, our premium and we
have good healthcare, is way more than six grand. Oh
it is. It is. It is way more than six grand.
So I don't know if it's going to happen this week.
I don't know if the Democrats and Republicans are going
(01:43:57):
to do some fun the Republicans. So you have to
and Trump is signaled that he is willing to talk
to the Democrats. Work. You have to figure it out,
and you've got to put yourself in a position that
you put it back on the Democrats from the political
side of things by saying we'll do a year extension
or it's going to be ugly. Just my thought. Three two, three, five,

We are counting down the worst Christmas songs of all time.
If you've been listening to the show, you know that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
And we've had some doozies right.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
All they want for Christmas is the hipopoonamous The Barking Dogs,
which were awful. Don't Shoot Me Sanda by the Killers.
That was number three, but number two and number one.
They are on the mount rushmore of the worst Christmas
songs of all time?
Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
Shall we get.
Speaker 2 (01:46:09):
To it because this one, kids, today is are you
blanking kidding me? No?
Speaker 15 (01:46:14):
It's time for the countdown of the Worst Christmas Songs
of all time?
Speaker 20 (01:46:20):
Number two Marry.
Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
Christmas, Oh kids, I don't even At first, I was like,
there is no way this song is real. There's just
no way this song is real. But it is real,
and it is awful, and it's done by Tiny Tim
You remember him tiptoeing through the tulips. He actually did
(01:46:44):
this song back in nineteen eighty two. His manager said,
if you record the song, I'm gonna drop you. He
wanted to bring awareness to the AIDS emidemic that was happening, okay,
which was awful, and it was just the beginning of it.
So he decided, you know what I'll do, I'll do
a Christmas song that well, Santa's got the AIDS this year.
Speaker 3 (01:47:04):
Wait what Yeah, that's the Christmas song.
Speaker 20 (01:47:09):
Santa Clause has got the AIDS this year, and he
won't be round to spread his Christmas Chin, the rein
deer all look blue. They know what he's going through.
Santa Claus has got the aige this year. He won't
(01:47:33):
be singing our Ho Ho ho home and he'll be
yelling out no, no, no no the nurses or look
Sam called Santa's got it bad. Santa Claus has got
the aids this year, so I won't be hurt here.
(01:47:57):
I'm shick, I'm shick.
Speaker 3 (01:47:59):
But next year, twelve months to wait, and then.
Speaker 20 (01:48:03):
He'll soon be round again. My Sanacols has got these
this year.
Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
Oh my god, that is just so awful. Tiny tim
so our number two worst Christmas song of all time
from nineteen eighty two, Santa Claus, that's got the aids
this year. I don't even know what to say. And
then he does a Santa Claus and go to you,
Oh my god, And you're thinking yourself, if that's number two,
(01:48:33):
what what? What could be worse than that? Oh wait
till you hear tomorrow. Tomorrow is so depressing is probably
the best way to describe it. From a huge artist,
by the way, three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four,
twenty three at Chad Benson Show, It's your ax, your
insta your YouTube, your Facebook and more loving from all
(01:48:54):

solid fun show. Today, man, we talked about a lot
the horrors of what happened to Bondai Beach and the
terrorist attack on the Hanukkah celebration. We'll be finding out
more of that in the next twenty four hours, and
of course Rob Reiner and his wife being murdered in
(01:49:15):
their own home, we'll find out more throughout the day
and I'm sure tomorrow and Brown University as well, which
is another just horrific incident where they thought they had
the person in question, but instead they released that person
and now they're back on the manhunt.
