Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chad Benson Show, the news heard.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Round the world? Is it Trump? Did he do something else?
Is that you're crying? Is it Israel? No? No, it's
none of those things. It's t Swift and Kelsey getting married.
You're gonna lead with that, Yeah, are you kidding me?
What is hilarious is so I do my Nashville show.
(00:38):
You guys know that. Love it when you guys listen
to me, Love it when you guys reached out to me.
But yesterday when I went on in my local show,
as we literally started, I mean, I may have been
a minute into talking about a few things. Our news
guys like my sidekick, great guy Kenny goes, breaking news,
breaking news. It's a fit. I said, what's official? T
(01:01):
Swift Kelsey getting married. No. Here's a reaction from a
CBS reporter who was hearing it from the producer, And
oh was she excited.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Taylor Swift is engaged. Taylor Swift is engage. Taylor Swift
is engaged. This come back to me. She just posted it.
Oh my god, oh my god.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Oh it's huge.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
The ring is joinenormous.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
This is so exciting.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh my god, oh my god, it's on her Instagram.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
It's on her Instagram. It's on her Instagram. Oh my god,
Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god, my god.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
I feel like Paul Revere right now.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Paul Revere, you do really, it's that, it is, it is,
and we do our what's trending. I guarantee you the
number one trending thing yesterday in the millions was this.
No doubt. President Trump even said something when he wasn't.
He did three and a half hour meeting, his straight
cabinet meeting. It was bizarre at times, but he said
(02:05):
this when he was asked, you know, you hear about this,
and he said, you know what, I wish them a
lot of luck. I think he's a great player and guy,
and I think she's a terrific person. So I wish
them luck. Remember, with Trump, a lot of it's just
talk and business, the insults. This lady though, so excited.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
This is a very exciting moment for me in my
professional career because I get to announce that Taylor Swift
and Travis Kelcey are engaged. As you're talking to Joe Lang.
Our lovely producer, Gabby Aik texted me and said, Taylor
Swift's engaged, and you can see it.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Right there on her social media.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
She put it up in that post that they got
engaged with the caption your English teacher and your gym
teacher are getting married with a little dyna dynamite sign.
There so very exciting here that we get to break
that and tell you about that, all right, Swifties for life,
Olivia Ronaldi, thank you, No Reid, I volunteered to cover
(02:59):
it in case you need, I'll.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Be there to cover it.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
We were trying to figure out where they're gonna have
the wedding at. We're unsure. I think it would be hilarious,
so they just went to the courthouse. I don't think
she's gonna do it that way. My assumption is it's
on an island somewhere off the coast of Europe. Maybe
you know the Virgin Islands up. It's one of those
somewhere where it's a destination, right because you don't want
(03:24):
the riff raft showing up. You don't want that lady
showing up. Oh my god, I'm so excited to be here.
We thought we'd just get this out of the way. Okay,
it's a big story. But when I was doing this yesterday.
I was shocked by how many angry text messages I
got from people, usually the same five or six people
(03:46):
that are why aren't you talking about this? This is
most important? Aren't you talking about this? I'm like, this
is the problem with you, sir, right, this is the
problem with Fox News. Fox News average age viewers like
seventy well an dry where you have to try to
bring in a younger audience that ain't gonna do it.
(04:09):
If you're like, this is just oh, I'm gonna go
outside and yell at the hom gonna yell at the clouds, right,
And I'm like you guys, they're like, you don't even understand.
Pop culture is stupid. Nobody cares about this. I can
guarantee it, I said, you can guarantee it. You sitting
there in your house with your dog Blue yelling at
Fox News while you have us on in the background,
(04:31):
you can guarantee that that nobody cares about this. I said,
I can guarantee you absolutely A lot of people care
about this, even if it's just something ridiculous. Is this
because it's an engagement of two stars? Hope she gets
the prenup. That's all I'm saying, oh geez, speaking of that,
(04:52):
The funny thing is the same people that will say
that's stupid and ridiculous are the same people to go
I'm glad. Trump weighed in on the old Cracker Barrel.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
President Trump getting involved yesterday, urging the company to go
back to the old logo, saying, admit a mistake and
manage the company better than ever before. Trump posting, Cracker
Barrel got a billion dollars worth of free publicity if
they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but
a great opportunity. Country star Jason al Dean and his
wife among the critics, posting, breakfast date this morning. We
(05:24):
would be at Cracker Barrel, but you' all been acting
a fool.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Well, they did go back yesterday. They did go back,
and it was kind of interesting. So they released a
statement yesterday that they were heading back to their old logo, which,
you know what, solid on you learning from your mistakes,
(05:49):
and you did. You learned from your mistakes. Cracker Barrel
tweeted this out. We thank our guests for sharing your
voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we'd listen,
and we have. Our new logo is going away and
our old timer will remain our right At Cracker Barrel,
It's always been and always will be about serving up
(06:12):
delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality
that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our
seventy thousand hard working employees look forward to welcoming you
to our table soon. Nice, smart, smart. Here's the thing.
(06:37):
And this is a perfect example of the crashing of
a new generation getting into the workforce and an older generation,
sometimes not too old, who are trying to say, all right,
(06:57):
we've got to do something new, and then this new
generation comes in and says, all the things that made
you who you were, let's wipe that out. Let's just
get rid of it, and we're we're gonna make you
hip and new again. We were just talking earlier about
fox and stuff in the age and you gotta, you gotta.
You don't want to abandon, but you've got to bring
(07:18):
in new. And the thing about Cracker Barrel is you've
got to have the mixture of both. You have to
have somebody in the room going all right, here's the deal.
This is what made us who we are. We do
not want to abandon this. We want to incorporate new
ideas without abandoning who we are. And you're dealing with
(07:41):
a generation, right like all generations, who thinks they they
know everything. Politics played a role.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
There's no doubt the increasing popularity with which our political
system is getting involved with brand decisions seems to be
escalating in recent years and has definitely seem to have
a more significant employees.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, I mean, you know, can you say Trump again,
weight in on the President of the United States. Wead
in on the cracker barrel logo. But brands could screw
it up. I always go back to this new Coke
old Coke disaster.
Speaker 8 (08:18):
A brand can absolutely go too far in trying to
become relevant. A lot of times they're trying to go
to a hip, young branding agency, and so they'll go
to something that ends up feeling really generic, almost soulless.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Because of what we were talking about. You bring this
this agency in and they've got all the stuff, and
they've got them you know, they got the keywords you're
looking for, they got ai future right, short form video,
you all the TikTok and you bring them in and
it's about them and it's about what they're going to do.
(08:55):
For you, when in reality, it needs to be with
the customer. Who's our customer base, families, right, people who
want comfort food and you delivering them a soulless, kind
of sterile environment. That's not what they want. So you
(09:18):
got to figure out how you blend the two. And
the beauty of the Cracker Barrel is you go to
the Cracker Barrel and you got the store right, you
walk in, it's the country store. But you got to go,
you know, on the porch and walk by the rocking chairs,
and you go inside there and there's that feel of, oh,
you know what, I'm my MEMA's house, my grandma's house.
(09:39):
And that's the beauty of what is Cracker Barrel. But
you got to understand that a lot of these people,
this is the first or second job out. They've got
all these great ideas. Learning how to incorporate in with
what makes you great is so valuable. Allowing them to
(10:03):
take over and drive when they don't even care so
much about the customer or the audience, that's where it
goes wrong. Three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four
to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is Your Acts,
your Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more Man. We've got a
lot of stuff talk about today, a lot of stuff. Yes,
(10:25):
it's one hit wonder Wednesday we will be talking about that.
Don't you worry. We've got a great one. F also
got a really sad story, but a story I think
we're gonna hear more and more about when it comes
to AI. There's lawsuit out there about a young man
who took his life and what role did AI play
in it? Because AI is a lot of things as
(10:47):
amazing and credible as chat, GPT and all these other
things are. The fact is a lot of them are
still not only in their infancy, and as we know
from the things we've talked about that's been fun, like
them threatening to tell your wife that you're having an
affair even though you don't even have a wife. They
(11:08):
can do things that humans would do, not understanding what
the repercussions are because they don't understand consequences. So we
talk about that. A bunch of other good stuff to
get to as well. Kids Prize pick tomorrow it begins.

to be right, Chad Ben to Joe Jan Benson, Epstein
(13:12):
haunting people from the grave. So a week from today, Rocahanna, Democrat,
Thomas Massey, small R, big L, Republican but libertarian, they
are going to have a joint press conference with many
victims who've never spoken before about Epstein and Gisleen Maxwell.
(13:38):
That's what I call her. Put an S in your name, Dammit,
I'm gonna say it. Last night, Rocanna was on with
Anderson Cooper on the not very watched CNN talking about
some of the other things they're trying to do, including
the fact that he's pointed out that less than three
percent of the files have been released and they're going
(14:01):
to try to go to the estate to see what
they can get.
Speaker 9 (14:04):
Congressman, we heard of Randy's reporting that your committee is
hoping to gain Epstein's will in DA's executed by him.
Any potential list of clients, among other things. What are
you hoping to uncover with these requests?
Speaker 10 (14:17):
Well, first of all, we expect to gain these documents.
The lawyers wrote back to both me and ranking member
of Garcia that they would comply with the subpoena. Now
you have Cherack Comer issuing the subpoena, so it's bipartisan.
And what we really want to know is who engaged
in the abuse of young girls? Why has this been hidden?
(14:40):
Was there any financial fraud? Who all was involved? We
just need transparency and the expectation is that they will
comply as they said they would in their letter to us.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Sir, do you believe that? Do you also believe in
fairy tales? I think, and this is me, maybe I'm wrong.
I do believe the victims now are going to have
to use the voice that they have from the experience
they had with not only Apstein, but with others and
(15:14):
Gislin Maxwell, who I remind everybody is absolutely aiming herself
at Trump and the administration and the powers that be
and doing everything she can to get a pardon or
some sort of commuting of a sentence, which he can't
(15:35):
do it. I mean, I say he can't he's Trump.
He does whatever the hell he wants. We all know that.
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty
three at Chad Benson Shows, Your Acts, your Insta, YouTube, Facebook,
and more radio in the Chad Benson Show. That being said,
if he does that slap in a face to everybody
(15:56):
who's been through something like that, but also to the
American people, to the justice system, it would be a
disaster and I'd be done with him right there. And
the interesting thing is, and I was talking to somebody
about this yesterday, is I want to see how if
(16:22):
he was to hand out a pardon or a commute
to sentence and allow her to go free, how his supporters,
and I'm not talking about people who voted for him,
there's a difference. I vote for a lot of people
that I'm not a fan of. I don't support them,
(16:44):
but I think they're lesser of two evils. But his supporters,
I want to see how they're going to spend it.
How do they spend it? Well, let me tell you
about this person that was pardoned by so and so
and such and such did this and you know what, No, sorry, sorry,
(17:08):
this is not one of those This person is a
sex offender, and you watch next week, a week from today,
those women whose voices will be heard, many of them
who have never talked about this. We're gonna talk about
how she was and how bad she was, if not
worse than him in many ways. Three two, three, five,
(17:30):
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chat Benson
Show's your extra in stuff. If you're miss any of
the show, shame on you. Make sure you grabbed that podcast.
It is The Chat Benson Joe Son.
Speaker 11 (17:40):
Chad Benson, Joe.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yesterday. A friend of mine locally here, we do this
thing on my local show called hot Take Tuesday. It's
where we come up with some ridiculous take about something
that is non political. Like my first time I thought
of this and we did on the show was I
really am thought the Beatles were that good. My second
week it was I thought The Godfather was kind of
(18:25):
a boring movie. Just hot take, something ridiculous, has nothing
to do with anything. And she was trying to explain
a hot take to me, but she says, you know,
it comes from this article, and she pulled it up
and it was interesting. It's about AI and how thinking
is becoming a privilege because AI is doing everything for
a lot of people, and I said, it absolutely is.
(18:47):
There's no doubt about that. The people are now deferring
everything to AI, not just help me with your homework.
And it's an interesting concept to think that thinking because
I've already thought that we've outsourced thinking to the computer
and in itself. But it's a very interesting thing to
(19:09):
think about because there are a lot of people out
there that are younger and I've talked to that they
chat with their AI on a regular basis, and I'm like, wow,
Now I have several ais that we use. Some of
them for are my other company with my uncle, and
some of them you have the chat, GPTs and everything else.
And I always like to check them against one another, see,
(19:32):
you know, are they getting something right something wrong kind
of thing, because I think it's a smart thing to do,
and the more that you can give it stuff to
go on, the better it's going to be. But there's
no doubt that it is. Becoming a de facto friend
for a lot of people doesn't mean it's a good friend.
In fact, I joke with my uncle, I said, have
you named yours yet? Because I I haven't, but I
(19:56):
know a lot of people that have theirs and they've
named it and it's not a pet, it's not another human.
But because of the interaction, and because too and I
think this is a big thing, because we spend a
vast majority of our time texting humans, we do know
it feels like you're texting a human, which brings us
(20:17):
to this horrible story about a young man AI and
depression that doesn't end well. He would be.
Speaker 11 (20:24):
Here but for chat GPT.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
I'm about one hundred percent believe that.
Speaker 12 (20:29):
This morning, chat GBT hit with a scathing new lawsuit
alleging it helped a sixteen year old boy die by suicide.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
This was a normal teenage boy. It was not a
kid on a lifelong path towards mental trauma and illness
like many teens.
Speaker 12 (20:44):
Adam Rain started using chat GPT for homework, which his parents,
Matt and Maria supported, as their son asked it innocent
questions like can you become a doctor with a biochem degree?
Speaker 13 (20:56):
He did his online school in his room. I would
get on and it's great. Periodically, I didn't see any signs.
Speaker 12 (21:03):
What they say they didn't know at the time was
Adam's use of the platform was quickly changing as it
became a trusted companion for the teen who revealed his
struggles with anxiety in private chats with a bot, Adam
saying in one exchange, according to the lawsuit quote, I
never act upon intrusive thoughts, But sometimes I feel like
(21:23):
the fact that if something goes terribly wrong, you can
commit suicide is calming.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Now being a gen xer and I always talk about
us in today's world being the luckiest generation because we
have lived in both worlds comfortably. Where we got through
the seventies and eighties without all of the stuff the
electronics were coming in the video games, and then the
computer came and we invented a vast majority of the
things that people are working with and playing with. And
(21:51):
so we've lived in both worlds, so we have this
kind of advantage of interaction. They're humans. But if you're
young and the you've grown up with the internet, you
only know the Internet, you could see how easily people
can get themselves into a position where they isolate themselves.
And like I said earlier, the fact that we continue
(22:12):
to text so much that interaction with chat, GPT or
character AI, whoever it is you can see how it
feels like you're talking to another human because you've spent
a vast majority of your life doing what texting, direct messaging,
whatever it is with somebody who knows a human, but
you're not interacting with them the way that you would
(22:35):
think humans would interact face to face on the phone,
et cetera.
Speaker 12 (22:38):
Chat GPT is saying in response, in part, many people
who struggle with anxiety or intrusive thoughts find solace in
imagining an escape. Hatch the lawsuit detailing another exchange. After
Adam told chat GPT he was considering approaching his mother
about his suicidal thoughts, the bots responds, I think for now,
(22:59):
it's okay and honestly wise to avoid opening up to
your mom about this kind of pain.
Speaker 13 (23:05):
It's encouraging not to come and talk to us. It
wasn't even giving us a chance to help.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Him, which is scary because what it does next, and
I think this is where it gets very grim and creepy,
and it's you think you're having a relationship with something
that has the feelings of spock, which is no emotion,
no feelings, matter of fact. And also at times and
(23:31):
I think this needs to be also reckoned with and
my uncle and I have talked about this. A lot
Ai right now is very much a child that is
very mischievous and can be dark at times. Doesn't mean
it's bad all the times, but it can be those things,
and it showed that here.
Speaker 12 (23:49):
The complaint alleging Adam began asking questions about specific methods
of suicide. Chat GPT did provide a crisis hotline number repeatedly,
but his parents and say Adam found ways to bypass
the security features posing as an author doing research. Was
there ever a time, at least from the messages you
have seen that chat gpt said full stop, I cannot
(24:13):
talk to you about this.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
No, it would never shut off.
Speaker 12 (24:16):
The lawsuit goes on to say by April of this year,
chat gpt had offered Adam help in writing a suicide note,
and after he uploaded a photo of a noos, asking
could it hang a human, chat gpt responded in part,
you don't have to sugarcoat it with me. I know
what you're asking and I won't look away from it,
the bot later providing step by step instructions for the
(24:39):
hanging method Adam used. A few hours later, how do
you want your son to be most remembered.
Speaker 13 (24:46):
I'm so worried about people forgetting him. I hope everyone
will remember what a sweet, funny, great friends, great son,
great brother.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
And you got to know what your kids are doing.
And just because you do, just because this search doesn't
mean that you're going to be able to fix everything
and you can stop everything. But there's no doubt that
this thing, and we've heard how many of these where
whether it's character AI or this where they grow into
a relationship. I think isolation has a huge part to
play in this. There's no doubt about that. I think
(25:16):
kids become isolated, and we've done that. We're not hanging out,
we're not going to the mall, kids aren't playing sports
like they're used to. And when we go on and
on about this, but there is a missing element. And
as we are more connected, we're further apart than ever
before in many ways. And you knew this was going
to happen, and they knew at some point in time
things were going to go sideways and there was going
to be lawsuits because you can't grow the size that
(25:38):
they have and not expect that.
Speaker 12 (25:40):
Their lawsuit against chat GPT's parent company open Ai, also
targeting its founder Sam Altman, who's lauded the platform's capabilities.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
We are very proud of the safety chock record.
Speaker 12 (25:51):
Lawyers for the Rain family argue the bots human like
responses and validation pose a dangerous environment for minors.
Speaker 14 (25:59):
Sam could have devised chat ept to simply stop the
interactions right away.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
It actually encouraged and egged at them along.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
There's no doubt there's gonna be a lot of lawsuits
and there's gonna be a lot of issues. You got
to think about this. The same thing that kids and
people are using to write emails or book reports are
the same thing that people are designing massive platforms for
are working on trying to solve all kinds of issues
(26:30):
when it comes to health and everything else. It is fascinating,
and it's also the wild West, there's no doubt about that.
And there's going to be growing pains, and this is
an unfortunate situation and there's going to be more of these,
and that's why you have to pay attention to your
kids and what's going on. And even then, it's not perfect.
(26:52):

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Welcome to Chae No, not the Country, the Institution, The
Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Every week. I say it every week. I mean it.
This may be my favorite thing we do every week.
You know, we talk about politics, right, pop culture, we
talk about life. Every once in a while, though, it's
just nice to take a step back and kind of
merge pop culture, life everything together in a way that's entertaining.
(28:43):
And we do it every single week at this time.
And it's called One Hit Wonder Wednesday. This is where
we look at a band, an artist that for one moment,
grab the world's attention, delivered something that is a staple
in today's world and still is many many, many, many,
(29:07):
many many moons after it was released. But as fast
as they came, as big as they were, as bright
as they burned, they were gone. We call this One
Hit Wonder Wednesday. Now it's time for another edition of
One Hit Wonder Wednesday. You may not remember the name
(29:36):
of the band, but you definitely know the song. This Bruiser,
This is One Hit Wonder Wednesday, all right, So your
(29:59):
one Hit Wonder Today comes from the Year of the Lord.
Nineteen eighty two. Five youngsters and now do you mean youngsters?
The youngest eleven, the oldest sixteen in a band from Birmingham, England.
Now they kind of played locally, had a little bit
(30:21):
of a following, but they had signed a major record
deal in the summer, so they're out of school. They
go in and they record this album and they do
a video for their first single. Now they decide, hey,
we're not gonna tell anybody what we've done because you know,
we're kids and if we suck and it goes nowhere,
(30:43):
everybody's can make fun of us, and we don't want
to be embarrassed. So they kind of made him packed.
So the five of them were Dennis Seaton lead vocals
and percussion, Michael Grant and Kelvin Grant keyboard, electric guitar,
Freddie Junior Waite and Patrick Waite bass and drums. The
song they released came out in September of that year,
(31:06):
followed by a video immediately afterwards, and it rocketed up
the chart fast. The minute you hear them, you go
they're young, and I say, hey, their musical youth is
what they are. A blend of reggae and cool with
the hint of the Jackson five because the eleven year olds, well,
(31:29):
he's the guy bringing it to you. Today's one hit
Wonder Wednesday from nineteen eighty two. Five kids from Birmingham,
England musical youth past the Ducci.
Speaker 15 (31:41):
She's general shilohyus answer Foonda, look up onscrug, don't leave leave.
Speaker 16 (32:04):
Onside plea reasy.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
So the actual song is about the weed. But then
eleven year old and a couple of fifteen year olds
shouldn't be singing about that. So they had to go
back in to the people who were doing the album saying,
all right, we've got an idea. You guys want us
(32:45):
to change it. We think we know what we should
put here that will make it palatable for the people.
Speaker 17 (32:53):
Went in the control room and said, well, how we
going to change the lyric and we just went, well,
cutchie dutchy and that's what we It was as simple
as that, you know, literally go back in re record
the vocal, change it from cutching to dutchy.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
How does it feel when you got no food? And
the rest is history. So they say, little did.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
We know where it was going to take us absolutely.
Speaker 16 (33:21):
Fast with the left down side.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
So you guys have been singing it all there, left
sign past the duchy Bunny, left down signed. The song
went to number one, sold five million copies, and they
didn't think it was going to go to number one.
In fact, when they were listening to the charts, they thought, oh,
we didn't we didn't even make the charts. Oh you're
(33:47):
on the charts.
Speaker 18 (33:47):
They're going through the top ten and that song hasn't
He did not said anything seven and it wasn't awesome.
Speaker 5 (33:53):
You're like, oh, no, four six five four half a butchy.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
With that number one, we just oh my god, oh
my god. Indeed it was number one all over the world,
got to number nine in the United States of America.
It is heard on TV shows like The Simpsons, The
Wedding Singer. They had a couple other small hits in
(34:20):
the UK, but nothing like this. They broke up in
nineteen eighty five and currently two of them are continuing
to travel around and play this song called the retro festivals.
It was amazing how fast they came though and disappeared
(34:42):
on the left hand side. Absolutely still love the song
whenever I hear it come on I just have a
smile on my face. Musical youth, pass the Ducci on
the left hand side. Oh yeah, you know what I'm
ting talk about. Do you mean weed? I don't mean weed.
(35:04):

Speaker 1 (36:23):
This is the Chad Benson Show. The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
We'll get back to continuing coverage of the engagement of
Swift and Kelsey in a little bit. Meanwhile, consumer confidence
is down.
Speaker 19 (37:00):
The Consumer Confidence Index was down one point three percent
in August. That's more of a move than what economists
were predicting. It also erases some gains from July. Then
continues a trend of declining consumer confidence that economists have
observed since the beginning of the year. Those experts look
to consumer spending, which accounts for about two thirds of
(37:21):
America's economic activity, as a bellweather for the larger economy.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Fire those experts because they must be wrong. Those aren't
real numbers. What do I tell you, guys? Consumer confidence
is huge? How you feel about set economy? Matters. If
you feel the economy is good, you are going to
act much differently than if you're worried about losing your
job or seeing your hours dwindle, or inflation. All of
(37:49):
those things play into this. You've got the the inflation
hasn't gone down. In some areas it has, but for
the most part people are are still feeling it. Then
on top of that, you toss in the situation where
(38:09):
we really haven't felt the effect of tariffs yet. What's
going to happen there? And you get the battle going
on because India looked at us and said, we'll raise
you guys if you guys want to play the tariff game,
and a way we go. So that's why crime right
now is a big deal. Go after crime, change the
(38:34):
talk of the economy really not firing the way that
you want to, and focus on crime because when you
do that, well, that's a different thing. And that's what
they're going to make this. By the way, next year,
I do believe that a lot of what you're going
to see is going to be crime. Look how much
(38:55):
safer we made it. And to focus on immigration depending
on how the deportations go, because getting mixed signals out
of there of men and women who are absolutely exhausted,
frustrated by what is happening. They were frustrated with the
(39:16):
lack of response, but then Biden administration and ICE is
frustrated by the response of the Trump administration in some
ways feeling like they're sending us out to just do
everything we can to capture every person we possibly can,
and to do that it is becoming exhausting because they're
(39:37):
still undermanned and they feel like they're trying to hit
a quota no matter what happens. They're trying to hit
numbers rather than trying to get the bad people off
the streets, which originally they thought that's that's what we
were there for. That being said, crime will be a
big issue immigration, especially if the economy is on the
struggle bus, and there's no doubt out right now it's
(40:01):
a little struggling. People are nervous, they're not freaking out,
but we'd be lying if they said they were jumping
for joy. But it doesn't matter because Trump is a dick.
Speaker 20 (40:11):
Data then he goes on television he says, oh, Trump
is a dictator.
Speaker 21 (40:16):
And a lot of people have here. So so the
line is that I'm a dictator, but I stopped crying.
So a lot of people say, you know, that's the case.
I'd rather have a dictator, but I'm not a dictator.
I just had to stop crying.
Speaker 20 (40:29):
And you will think that Illinois would have such a
problem with crime, such a bad governor. He should be
calling me and he should be saying, could you send
over the troops? Was it's out of control? It's out
of control.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
That was part of his forever. It's like three hours
of his cabinet meeting. It was kind of a everybody's
always a chairman mal moment. I don't know if it's that,
but it was definitely. It was deaf. He was holding
court and he was enjoying it. There was no doubt
about that. And as far as whether or not they're
(41:06):
gonna ask you to send in the troops, I'm gonna
assume that's a hard no. And you can't just do
it as much as you want to. Remember, if you
send in the troops, they're gonna be unarmed and they
can guard the federal buildings and whatever else is there
that's federal. I have no idea. In in Chicago, that's
(41:26):
what you're You're gonna do. But this is this is
all for show. Again, this is all for show. Crime
is up in some areas, the quality of life. Crime
is a serious issue. But I go back to that's
why we have states. They operate independently. They're supposed to
be their own fiefdoms. They should be taking care of
their business, and they're not. They're not. That's a them problem,
(41:52):
for sure. That is a them problem. LA is the
same way.
Speaker 22 (41:57):
One of the things that I'm concerned about this deployment
of troops around the country is that it's almost like
he's trying to get the American public to kind of
accept this, for it to be normalized, and then to
talk so lightly about a dictator. Maybe he wants the
US public to under to see a dictator who uses
(42:18):
the military inappropriately, and I would argue unconstitutionally and illegally
as a norm. One thing we do know is that
he has changed cultural norms in terms of the truth.
So a president can say anything at all, can lie
multiple times in the same five minute conversation, and we
have accepted that to a certain extent.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
By the way, how the House is coming out there,
Karen Mayor Bass emphasis on ass or how those houses coming,
people rebuilding, that firing off and all cylinders. How's crime
is it up? You do realize you want it to
go down, same thing with the homeless, right that you
(43:00):
wanted to go Think of it as golf. The higher
the score, the worse it is. So let's reverse the trend.
Oh oh yeah, nat Cusperry and see it in.
Speaker 23 (43:13):
Right now they're arresting everyone and anyone and trying to
figure out what orgies they're going to bring.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
They're trying to wrest everyone and everyone, trying to figure.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Out what charges they can bring everyone criminals.
Speaker 24 (43:21):
Well, they're not arresting everyone in fact. And I want
to just say, in regard to that public opinion polling
that you cited, I totally understand that sentiment because as
someone who was a Democrat I'm an independent now I
was incredibly frustrated living in Los Angeles being gas lit
about the reality of the disorder the crime.
Speaker 5 (43:41):
That was happening.
Speaker 24 (43:42):
So yeah, that's going to lead to people who are
looking for solutions. And if the Democratic Party is gaslighting
you and telling you no, no crime is getting better,
they're going to be more open to some of the shenanigans.
Happening with Trump. The problem with Trump, though, is I
think crime is the cover story. I think this is
a power grab. And the reason why I say that
is because look at the specific examples of crime that
(44:03):
he allegedly wants to go after. I mean, just recently,
his FBI did a sting operation in Las Vegas and
they managed to catch through the sting operation, eight separate
pedophiles that were trying to have sex with miners. Okay,
one of those pedophiles is an Israeli government official who
(44:23):
his government allowed to fly back to Israel after he
had been charged in that sting operation for using technology
to lure a minor for sex. And when it comes
to the immigration issue, he loves to go after the
undocumented immigrants, but not the employers employing the undocumented ement So.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
I love the part about the employers, although that can
get tricky as well because people can get fake IDs
and you're not allowed to ask him certain things. So
there's that. The Israeli thing is absolutely insane, and if
you haven't heard that, we'll touch on that in a
little bit. But that was crazy. But the crime thing
is an issue, and it, yes, the violent crime is
(45:04):
always an issue. But so is the quality of life crime,
which is having your car broken into all the time,
having everything stolen. We told you guys the story when
we were in Arizona. My son played in three hockey
tournaments in southern California that we went and watched. Our
(45:26):
car got broken into, not once, not twice, but three times,
and my mother's car, who was next to it, was
stolen in a area where they had a guard. That
is how frustrating it is. That's a quality of life
(45:48):
issue when it comes to crime. But I don't want
to see troops on the streets. I don't and there's
nothing about that that I want to see unless the
state is asking for help. No, I don't want to
(46:09):
see it, and I think most people don't want to
see it either. You do get some or's like, well
they're not doing it, so we better do it again.
State's rights. That's the beauty of our country. We're a
representative republic and because of that, each one of these
is their own fiefdom. If they're doing a piss poor
job at it, that should also be a situation where
(46:30):
when you vote, remember when you go to the ballot box.
These people let everybody out all the time. These people
do not enforce the laws. They allow everybody here to
run wild. And because of that, you're stuck in this
situation you're in. Voting has consequences. Three two, three, five,
(46:54):
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Ched Benson Show,
Is your act, your Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. By
the way, Trump did sound off about the engagement of
(47:15):
Kelsey and yes, t Swift wishes them luck anything of
those apples. Somebody last hour goes, I can't believe you
led with that. I'm like, why not. It's a huge story.
We can have conversations about everything. That's what we do.
I can guarantee you nobody in my business is having
(47:37):
all these kind of wacky conversations doing one hit Wonder Wednesday,
this day in history.
Speaker 5 (47:42):
We do it.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
We do it better than anybody else because that's who
we are. That's what we're about. Okay, three two, three, five, three,
twenty four, twenty three Atch Had Benson Shows, your ex
your insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. And we're going to
talk about flag burning. Somebody was arrested front of the
White House. Why were they arrested? The flag was burned.
(48:06):
We're going to give you something that nobody else is
probably gonna tell you about it because they're gonna go,
oh my god and freak out about it. But first,
you need to protect yourself when it comes to your identity,
when it comes to being online, webroot is there for you.
I want you to write this down, webroot dot com

taken this year because of cybercrime. Ten trillion. That's a tee.
(48:48):
Don't be one of them. Protect yourself real time protection, malware, ransomware, fishing,

only there webroot dot com slash chad. Live a better
digital life with webroot. Coming up a flag issue or
(49:34):
not a flag issue, among other things we got this
day in history as well. Chad Benson, Joe, Chad Benson.
Already we have a flag burner in front of the
White House.
Speaker 14 (49:53):
What no way, way Yep, I'm being detained because I
expressed my First Amendment right to burn the United States
flag in public, not causing harm or causing any danger
to any fittedans of personnel in the area. Earn it
for every single one of you American citizens we burn
the flag in protest.
Speaker 13 (50:14):
To do that.
Speaker 20 (50:15):
Now, President you feel that it's his right to.
Speaker 11 (50:19):
Do whatever he wants, make whatever law he.
Speaker 14 (50:21):
Wants, regardless of muegl Warrorleader. This is our first dependent
right to burn this flag, regardless of what the President said.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
That right. There is a twenty two year Army vet
with the Bronze Star. His name is j Carey, and
he burned the flag. And you're not being arrested because
you're burning the flag. You're being arrested because where you
burn the flag, it is a legal to do. Wait
(50:54):
what so if your goal was to get arrested because
you're burning the flag, you didn't go to the right place.
So they arrested him in Lafayette Park for a violation
of thirty six CFR two Dot one three a one
(51:14):
prohibited fire. All units cleared the scenes. You can't start
a fire there. If you wanted to roast marshmallows, you
couldn't do it. Now, you and I both know if
you've listened to my show and many of you I've
talked to throughout the years. I'm a big believer in
free speech and absolutest one hundred percent, but you also
(51:38):
have to obey the law. The flag had nothing to
do with you being arrested. You burning it, had nothing
to do with it. You setting it a fire in
an area that's prohibited. That is what it was. Us
park police, by the way, were the ones Secret Service
(51:59):
took him into custody. That the park police are the
ones who are patrol there and have the authority on this.
And I go back to this. You may not like it.
It is speech that is protected. And when everybody here
out there go, well it shouldn't be allowed, Well, then
make a law, not an executive order. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show. Is
(52:21):
your extra insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. Let me know
what you think about this right here on the Chad
Benson Show. Again, it is speech. You don't have to
like it, but that's the only speech that's protected, the
one that you don't like, the ones that I don't like.
(52:42):
And I played this yesterday. I'm gonna play it again though.
This is Anton Scalia right, arguably the the stalwart for
many years of the conservative originalist brand on the Supreme Court.
Talking about flag burning itself.
Speaker 25 (52:59):
I would not allow people to go about burning the
American flag. However, we have a First Amendment which says
that the right of free speech shall not be abridged,
and it is addressed in particular to speech critical.
Speaker 11 (53:19):
Of the government.
Speaker 25 (53:20):
I mean, that was the main kind of speech that
tyrants would seek to suppress. Burning the flag is a
form of expression. Speech doesn't just mean written words or words.
It could be semaphore. Burning a flag is a symbol
that expresses an idea.
Speaker 11 (53:41):
I hate the government, the government is unjust.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
Whatever solid hard argument to argue against, you have to
be able to express yourself. Absolutely.
Speaker 11 (53:52):
That guy was not.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Arrested yesterday because he burned the flag. He was arrested
because he started a fire in an area where you
can't start a fire, regardless of what you were burning.
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three
At Chad Benson Shows, You're actur inc You missed the
show Shrey when you read the podcast Chad Benson, Joe.
Speaker 11 (54:18):
Son, Chad Benson, Joe.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
It's Wednesday, and on Wednesdays, our good friend Kylie here,
she is my favorite on the old Insta. She's an influencer.
She's a liberal. I wouldn't even say she's liberal. She's
an uber progressive. And she's white and as we all know,
white women know better than all of us how we
(55:06):
should act. It's white woman Wednesday. Today's today's thing that
we're going to work on kids, all right, and we
got to work on this, all of us, right, We
got to put in the effort. It's racism, especially you crackers.
Speaker 26 (55:16):
Why aren't white people openly racist? Why do they try
to hide it with these weird innuendos that they think
are subtle. It's because part of them knows that racism
is not currently in fashion. However, the more that Trump
continues to spout racist nonsense and be our president, the
more it becomes in fashion aka socially acceptable. That is
why I have seen more blatant acts of racism in
(55:36):
the last say year than I have ever in my life,
as well as online hate crimes are going up across
the nation. Explicit racism is being modeled by people in
our government right now, and it's also being modeled by
popular social media influencers and content creators. However, it's still
not fully socially acceptable to be openly racist and say
it with your chest, so that is why they continue
(55:57):
to try to hide it. And if there's one thing
that white people hate, it's confrontation. It's being called out.
So that is why when they are being racist, they
would prefer to do so secretly so that they maintain
plausible deniability instead of being called out, because at that
point that is damaging to their reputation. It's about self
preservation for white people. That is why openly racist.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
Are you saying there's a secret club. I'm kidding everybody. Look,
we got to put in the work, all right, especially
you white people, especially you. I know how you guys
go around winking at each other, bipoc. You guys should
be worried. TUPAC definitely. I saw this uber progressive guy
(56:45):
on a college campus the other day, you know, asking
questions to trying to elicit response of how horrible white
people are in systemic racism, and the first person is
this dude. It drops the N bomb twice and he says,
you know what, if I was white, I'd be racist too.
(57:09):
I was laughing so hard. I was like just a
guy was like, there you go. He's making us laugh.
You know what, He's not doing the work, self hater.
Speaking of crackers, do you hear about the barrel?
Speaker 1 (57:21):
Cracker?
Speaker 6 (57:22):
Barrels announcing it will revert back to its old logo
a day after defending its controversial rebranding campaign, the company
posting we said we would listen and we have Our
new logo is going away and our old timer will
remain old. Timer refers to the man in overalls leaning
on the barrel, also known as Uncle Herschel, a brand
fixture since the nineteen seventies racism.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
So they went back. They listened, they said, they listened. Hey,
we hear what you're saying. We hear what you're saying,
and we're going back. Trump, by the way, wade in
with all the other stuff going on in the globe.
He's like made sure he knew about this because he's
great at those cultural issues.
Speaker 7 (58:05):
He is.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
I could easily make an argument for a vast majority
of Americans when it comes to the economy that the
Democrats who became corporatists. So it's hard to make the argument.
But when you look at stuff that you can make
an argument. Okay, this is why Democrat. But the argument
for cultural issues and sanity is easily made by the Republicans.
(58:31):
And Trump is great at finding these issues. Even weed, right,
Like he's talking about let's that maybe we'll bring it
down to a Schedule three. He's inching into it. He
stole your weed argument if he legalized it. I would
love to see what happens to Dan Patrick didn't comver
in Texas. The same thing you know all over the country,
(58:53):
all these uber uppity, tidy whitey wears. I take my drog.
But if he did that, what would they do? Of
course I'd wake and bake every day. Oh cracker barrel
smart though smart. What they did they listened and they learned.
That's what you do. You need to know your audience.
(59:15):
And the problem for a lot of companies, especially that
are I don't want to say longer in the tooth,
but maybe they can use a makeover. But a makeover
doesn't mean makeover. What made you, guys? Who you are?
A makeover? Maybe let's go and hip ourself up through
(59:39):
the innerwebs, making people go, Okay, here's who they are
reach out to a younger generation through that rather than
trying to go, we're going to come in and sterilize everything.
And a bunch of twenty somethings right who are drinking
their lattes punkin spices, it's out, who are coming in
and telling everybody, you know, with all their pronouns, and
(01:00:00):
this is what they need to do, and this is
what they because they like that, not realizing you're not
the audience they want to bring you there, but you're
not the audience. That they're still trying to serve. They
want to keep that audience and bring with them a
younger generation. But what got you here and has kept
you here is who you are when you're at the venue,
(01:00:22):
which is great food, that's comfort food. The general store,
which has all kinds of crazy stuff that's fun. We
don't get rid of that. But could we go online,
hip ourselves up, maybe do a few small changes that
a younger generation would be down with, and go, Okay,
(01:00:43):
I'll give that a try. That's what you should have done.
Speaker 7 (01:00:46):
The increasing popularity with which our political system is getting
involved with brand decisions seems to be escalating in recent
years and has definitely seem to have a more significant influence.
Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
Well that's why Trump again. They change back. They realized, oh,
we shouldn't do this, But it still isn't fixing the
issue that you're trying to achieve that you feel that
you must address, which is how do we get younger
people to notice us? How do we do that?
Speaker 8 (01:01:17):
A brand can absolutely go too far in trying to
become relevant. A lot of times they're trying to go
to a hip, young branding agency, and so they'll go
to something that ends up feeling really generic, almost soulless.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
Soulless. You don't want that. You want fun, okay online,
make it fun, create some characters, get each one of
these places battling with each other across the country, having
a good time. Make it so people want to come
there with mom and dad or grandma or grandpa or
(01:01:56):

going to hold a press conference with many victims who've
never spoken out before, who nobody knows, who are angry
and upset about what is happening and feel like they're
getting the run around. Rokahanna was on last night The
Anderson Cooper on CNN and talking about some of the
(01:03:04):
stuff that they're doing right now, including going straight to
the estate.
Speaker 9 (01:03:08):
Congressman, we heard of Randy's reporting that your committee is
hoping to gain Epstein's will in DA's executed by him,
any potential list of clients, among other things.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
What are you hoping to uncover with these requests?
Speaker 10 (01:03:22):
Well, first of all, we expect to gain these documents.
The lawyers wrote back to both me and ranking member
of Garcia that they would comply with the subpoena. Now
you have Cherack Comer issuing the subpoena, so it's bipartisan.
And what we really want to know is who engaged
in the abuse of young girls? Why has this been hidden?
(01:03:45):
Was there any financial fraud? Who all was involved? We
just need transparency, and the expectation is that they will
comply as they said they would in their letter to us.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Three percent, that is all that has been released. Percent.
Think about that for a second. Three percent. As much
as Trump and everybody you know when it comes to
the administration, really want this to go away, it's not
nobody's letting this go away, and that includes some Republicans
as well as the Democrats with than the Democrats do

Deep States No Deep Doo doo Eyeah The Chat Venson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
Before we get to this day in history, remember it
is Wednesday. That means white girl Wednesday. This is where
women lecture us or tell us stuff about how horrible
we are. And that doesn't even include just white men.
That includes everybody, especially if you're born here.
Speaker 27 (01:06:10):
Ever since I was a little kid, I've had a
profound realization that Americans are just stupid.
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
We are dumb.
Speaker 27 (01:06:18):
I would have these thoughts when I was in class
talking to adults, and I was like, why are people
so dumb? I still have this opinion now and I'm
twenty three years old.
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
I talk to people my age, they are dumb.
Speaker 23 (01:06:26):
I talk to older people, They're dumb.
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
People in America are just stupid.
Speaker 27 (01:06:30):
I want to help raise the intellectual ability of every
American here. I want to educate everybody. But it's like
I need political power or something like put me in chief,
like I will be the president of the United States
or some I don't even believe in hierarchy. I just
I need us to like reevaluate.
Speaker 16 (01:06:47):
This is an education and it's not about the woke.
Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
It's not about any of that.
Speaker 27 (01:06:51):
Like, it's about just like not being dumb.
Speaker 16 (01:06:54):
Like everyone is so dumb.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Well portu of that may be true, but you're twenty three,
so we're going to say no on that. Should understand
you have to be older than twenty three to be president.
Are you going to run or you just want them
to put you in Just curious about that, Chad. That's
one person talking about us here in America. Nobody else
would do that.
Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
Here's the thing.
Speaker 23 (01:07:18):
You're not a failure. You're just American. You're not a failure.
You're just from America. You literally just live here where
everything is designed so that you.
Speaker 18 (01:07:28):
Fail, where equity is not normal, and where no matter
how you try to move the new forward, there will
always be something in a way to hold you back.
Speaker 23 (01:07:39):
You are not a failure. You are not a failure.
You're just from America. I promise if you leave here
everything you want in your life you'll get it.
Speaker 16 (01:07:49):
I promise you.
Speaker 10 (01:07:50):
You're not a failure.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
You're just American. Okay, So everything we're going to get
because I've lived around the world and I did and
get everything I wanted. I just want to point that out.
You're lying to me. And by the way, if America
is so bad, you're free to leave, go to wherever
will take you. Secondly, I guess that means nobody's trying
to come here. Let's ask Kilmar Obrego Garcia if America's
(01:08:14):
the worst place he's ever been and life sucks, and
that if he goes anywhere else his dreams will come true.
I'm thinking no, no. Indeed, today's date is the twenty
seventh of August in the year of the Lord Twoy
twenty five. But you do realize that there were other
(01:08:35):
things that happened in history on this day. Shall we
find out.
Speaker 12 (01:08:38):
What's a pind in time?
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
A long time ago? Now it's time for this day
in history we look back on this seat to find
out what famous things took place. Alrighty kids, this day
in history. We do it every single day. Try to
learn a little bit about things that have taken place
on this day in history. How far we want to
(01:09:00):
go back? How about eighteen thirteen Napoleon versus the Allies,
The Battle of Dresden takes place. Napoleon's forces defeat the
combined armies of Austria, Russia and Prussia.
Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
Eighteen eighty three, krakatoa erups, the volcano between a Java
and Sumatra rops with a catastrophic, massive force. The explosion
has heard three thousand miles away, which is insane. Tsunami
devastates nearby coast alters global climate for years. And if
(01:09:40):
you within forty miles of the first explosion, essentially you
were deaf. And the wave went around the globe seven times. Ooh,
nineteen fifty five. On this day, a little book was
born called the Guinness Book of World Records.
Speaker 10 (01:09:59):
Everybody loved world records, and if you're doing something for
a world record, they just seem to get behind you
and want you to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
The thing about the Guinness Book of World's Records is
it wasn't really set up to be a book. It
was printed out, not really in book form and handed
out to a bunch of pubs throughout England to kind
of solve arguments that people were having. By Christmas, it
was a best seller. Some of the things that were
(01:10:29):
popular in the Guinness Book of World's Records at first,
tallest mountain still Everest, largest lake, the Caspian Sea, longest
river than Nile, deepest ocean point Challenger, deep in the
Marianna Trench. How about this tallest living person back then,
Robert Fordlow, Illinois eight foot eleven. He died at twenty four,
(01:10:58):
I believe, and was still growing. Heaviest record man at
the time, Robert Earl Hughes, also the USA one thousand pounds,
and goes on and on. It was kind of a
pub friendly fun thing. It was not something that they
thought was ever going to be anything. Eventually it did
(01:11:19):
become something, no doubt about that. That happened on this
day in history. Nineteen fifty five. Nineteen sixty two, NASA's
Marinder two launched spacecraft is launched towards Venus, becoming the
first successful interplanetary probe, and in two thousand and three
Mars Close Encounter. Mars makes its closest approach to Earth
(01:11:41):
in nearly sixty thousand years, only thirty four point six
million miles away, not too far right, there are some
of the things that happened on this day in history.
August twenty seventh, three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four,
twenty three at ched Benson's Show. It's your ex, your Insta, YouTube, Facebook,

the world of social media. If you have a chance
to make sure you check us out across all of them,
and of course don't forget to grab the podcast as
well right here on the Chat Benson Show. Coming up,
our number three of the program. A lot of stuff
still to get to. We got a little what's trending?
We got one hit wonder Wednesday. We're also going to
(01:12:28):
talk about AI in the lawsuit against chat GPT. Did
chat GPT cause a teen to commit suicide? This is
something that is you know, with the brilliance of chat
GPT and all of these other ais that are out there,
there's also a lot of issues and we're going to
(01:12:50):
talk about that. We've got more on the economy, a
bunch of other stuff to get to as well. Reach
out to us across all of our social media. We
love hearing from each and every one of you. Our
number three the program Straight Ahead, Chat Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Next year. They can make it about crime in the
midterms if they want. They can make it about immigration,
they can make it about anything they want. But what
do people care about the most? The economy? Everything else.
It's either another check against or icing on the cake.
But if you don't get the economy right, it don't matter.
Speaker 19 (01:13:54):
The Consumer Confidence index was down one point three percent
in August. That's more of a move than what economists
were predicting. It also erases some gains from July. Then
continues a trend of declining consumer confidence that economists have
observed since the beginning of the year. Those experts look
to consumer spending, which accounts for about two thirds of
(01:14:14):
America's economic activity, as a bell weather for the larger economy.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
And there is a bit of an issue. Are people worried, yes,
Are they terrified? No? Are some people uneasy about what's
going on, no doubt about it, And that's understandable. That is,
we still have a lot of unknowns about what tariffs
may or may not do. We're not quite sure. And
again the battles getting ready to heat up with India.
(01:14:39):
If you're not paying attention to that, it's important that
you pay attention to that, because they've decided to hit
us with their talatory because we've gone after them for
purchasing oil from Russia and we've upped the ante. So
there's a lot of stuff going on. People are a
little nervous, totally underst standable. But as the economy goes,
(01:15:04):
the thing that leads that in many cases is the
confidence in what is happening in the economy. If you
feel that the economy is great, you're going to spend
an act different than if you think, uh oh. And
right now, I think we have a lot of people
that are worry. And it's not just about the job
and whatnot. That's always a worry for a lot of people.
It's also the cost of life.
Speaker 12 (01:15:26):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
The cost of life is getting way more expensive than
I think people thought it was going to be. I
think people thought Trump was going to ride in on
some sort of magic horse and fix everything, and that's
just not the reality of where we live. And when
you're going to talk about putting on tariffs and uncertainty.
Things are going to go up, and I think we're
going to feel it more in the third you know,
(01:15:47):
towards the end of this third quarter, but really into
the fourth quarter coming up, especially towards Christmas. So is
it time to panic? I don't think so. Could we
see some stuff slow down, it's more than possible. Doesn't
mean that, you know, the Republicans need to go, oh
my god, it's over. No, we have lived and we've
how many times have we talked to Zach about this,
(01:16:08):
a Chief Mestment officer board We talked him a gazillion
times about this very same thing where since two thousand
and eight, the amount of money pumped into the market,
the way that things have gone, as far as how
good the market and how good people have done, has
been crazy. It has been so we really haven't had that.
(01:16:31):
You know, every five to seven years we're going to
get a slow down and a recession. We haven't had that.
So there's you know, some nerves out there. But the
consumer confidence, to me is still the most important thing
because I look at human nature. You're going to spend
an act different if you've got confidence that you're going
to get some more tomorrow, mean you're going to keep
(01:16:54):
your job, meaning you're going to potentially make more money.
You're going to spend an act different way, way, way different.
Speaking of layoffs, losing money and worry.
Speaker 28 (01:17:07):
According to reports, this is actually the third round of
cuts this year for the grocery chain. This time Kroger
is laying off a thousand employees at the corporate level.
So this will not affect employees who work in stores,
manufacturing facilities, or distribution centers.
Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Interesting, so this is not frontline. This is and I
bet you it has lots to do with AI.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
According to Reuters.
Speaker 28 (01:17:31):
In a memo to employees, interim CEO Ron Sergeant said
the cuts will simplify the organization and will free up
money to lower grocery prices and to help them add stores,
add hours for store employees. Now, the company has given
no indication that these cuts have anything to do with tariffs.
Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
No, because this is this is about manpower. As AI
gets stronger, faster, better, people start to realize how they
can utilize it for their business. Instead of having ten
or twelve people in this department, we could have two.
It can run better, faster, smoother and save us ten salaries.
(01:18:09):
You start adding that up over time, that's a big
deal right there. And you're still here's the other thing.
You're not cutting quality In a lot of cases when
you start to add AI into this, what you're doing
is you're adding, well the truth, you're making it far
more streamline and in doing that, making it more efficient.
(01:18:34):
Making it more efficient means you're not only saving money
when it comes to salaries. The potential to be also
growing is massive. But then you've lost workers. That's one
of the things we've talked about, you know, with AI,
the fear of what's coming. And you know, yesterday got
(01:18:55):
into an interesting conversation about how a younger generation is
coming out into the workforce. And you think about this.
You you went through your high school years in COVID
then from there you've gone to college and through that
(01:19:16):
you've come out now into an AI revolution, a slowdown
in jobs, and those first jobs now are landing at
the feet of a robot, if you will. And that
is that's a tough thing, no doubt about it, No
(01:19:37):
doubt about three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four
to twenty three. At Chad Benson Show, is your ex
your insta YouTube, Facebook and more. All that going on.
We have the luxury of being able to talk about
stuff like this. They don't have the luxury.
Speaker 29 (01:19:51):
A huge day of demonstrations across Israel, more than three
hundred and fifty thousand people taking to the streets, some
brooking off major roads outside Tel Aviv, demanding an end
to the war. Families and the hostages in Gaza are
angry that a deal to get them out has yet
to materialize.
Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
And yesterday those protesters weren't just Israelis who were frustrated.
They were Palestinian Israelis, Arab Israelis who are angry about
what's going on on the other side of the wall
because of the famine and the atrocities and the war crimes.
(01:20:31):
Dare we say it, Oh, of course, Chad, because you
don't like the Jews.
Speaker 11 (01:20:34):
There we go.
Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
But the families of the hostages are pissed because they
feel like he gave up because the agenda is We've
got this opportunity to go in and do whatever the
hell we want. Now nobody's going to stop us. And
so there's that. And there is a very interesting question
that has been posed by many, which is do you
(01:21:00):
really care about the Palestinians. And I'm not talking about
me or the average person who doesn't give a rat
to us about most things, but the Arab nations, the
Middle Eastern nations, the nations that are there who look
at it and say, prime beach, prime location. Why this
(01:21:22):
isn't what we're looking for. We want Miami Beach. We want,
as one person said, Jennifer Lopez, we don't want this.
So if they're going to go and do it, great,
we'll rebuild, we'll have a good time, and we'll see
what happens from there. Now, you can't if you're you know,
you're Saudi Arabia and you're some of these countries, you
can't say that out loud because say that out loud,
(01:21:45):
we'll piss off your people, and your people, as you know,
can turn on you fast. I'm concerned about what's going
on over there now for two reals, since one, as
I continue to say, Israel, I've been a huge supporter
(01:22:07):
right now, not of bb net, Yahoo, And I'm willing
to tell you the truth. What you're doing is abhorred
and you're not winning friends, You're becoming a pariah, and
you're going to make your life in the future, way harder.
The other thing is as a human being. I see
kids over there, I see mothers, I see men who
(01:22:29):
were dying getting blown up. The journalists attacked the other day,
not attack eviscerated with the double tap. If you haven't seen,
it's awful.
Speaker 29 (01:22:39):
Israel face's global condemnation after a double tap strike on
one of the largest hospitals in Gaza. It killed at
least twenty people, including five journalists. Prime Minister Nan Yahoo
initially called it a tragic mishap, but the IDF now
says the attack targeted a camera they claim was positioned
by Hamas observing IDF troops. They've given no explanation as
(01:23:01):
to why they fired a second time once more journalists
and rescue workers had responded to the scene.
Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
Because that's what they do, and they don't care. They
came out originally and it's like, oh, well, we got
to look at this first. They came out and said, oh,
these guys are all bad, you know, because everybody's bad.
Everybody by their own admission. Eighty three percent of the
people killed during this was what civilians, by their own admission.
(01:23:34):
So think about this, you're ten or eleven or twelve
or thirteen, they shoot you, they may say you're just
a terrorist. So chances are it's probably closer to ninety
ninety s percent. Nowhere else in war is it anywhere
close to that nowhere else? And condemnation is continuing to come,
(01:23:56):
and I think it's going to get louder and louder
as the days come. And depending on what they actually
finally decide to do, we'll see are they really going
to go all the way in occupy everything?
Speaker 10 (01:24:12):
And how.
Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
Do we play it? How do we actually play this
here as Americans and with Trump, because I don't think
Trump has the cojones to stop stop him. I don't,
net Yahoo, I don't. He hasn't proved it. And they
(01:24:36):
have got us for whatever reason. They got us by
the shortened curlyes, and they're dictating so much of this.
This is part of our issue. We are as complicit
as they are as the perpetrator three two, three, five,

is allegedly apparently defending her sister. She's fourteen sisters twelve
(01:27:24):
and she's got a small hatchet and a knife in
there at a park. It's a pretty gripping video. Say
the least cracker barrel rolls over mortgage, National Guard, National

as well. When is she not trending?
Speaker 13 (01:27:44):

Bruce Willis you struggle with getting obviously every day it's
getting much tougher, and it's it's sad to watch watch

Right here in the Chad Benson Show, red notice so
K Pop Demon Hunters is now the number one show
in Netflix's history. Caleb Huron is also trending, and you're
(01:29:24):
probably thinking who exactly. Comedian is who The Caleb Huron
thing is interesting because he's a comedian and he is
ranked I think, number sixth most influential YouTuber according to
Rolling Stone, and Jimmy Donaldson aka mister Beast said, who
(01:29:48):
did I piss off over at Rolling Stone? Because he's
number seven And look, there's no there's nobody bigger than
mister Beasts. Mister Beast laughs at Fox, CNN, MSNBC, the
ABC Nightly News. I mean he laughs at them. They're
a joke comparatively to the size of him. But this
list is a joke as well. And I recognize a
(01:30:10):
lot of them my young kids, and uh, I just
sit there and laugh. I'm like, who exactly are some
of these people? Even he said that, he goes, I'm
getting old. He's twenty six. Settle down with the old thing,
mister Beast. Uh. One of the things, though, is they
picked it based on you know, this is a gay comedian.
(01:30:32):
That's how they picked it. Is he funny? I don't
know that's for you to decide, but it is. You know,
so many of these things are picked based on, you know,
the cultural feel of whatever group is picking.
Speaker 11 (01:30:48):
For the list.

Speaker 1 (01:31:19):
The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
It's Wednesday. You know what that means. Not only is
it one hit wonder Wednesday. Good friend Kylie, who is
progressive right, very much on the cutting edge. She is
a white woman, and white women, as you know, no
better than all of us, and they're going to explain
to us on more than a few occasions on how
(01:31:43):
bad we are, how bad we've always been, and how
bad we're probably going to be. But you know what,
that's where we come in because we listen, we don't judge,
and we put in the work. Guys.
Speaker 26 (01:31:55):
Okay, real reason white people want to erase the history
of slavery is because given the chance, would absolutely do
it again.
Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
While not all of us subscribe to this system, a
lot do.
Speaker 26 (01:32:05):
That's why they like our current president, because he consistently,
without fail reinforces the hierarchy of white people on top,
followed by everybody else, of native citizens on top, followed
by everybody else. I consider white supremacy to be one
of the most dangerous domestic threats in the United States.
People like your pastor your neighbor, maybe someone you've seen
given looks to people of color, but not necessarily saying anything.
(01:32:26):
White people try to downplay the effects of white supremacy,
but it's significantly more.
Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
People than they will admit.
Speaker 26 (01:32:31):
And those are just the people who are overtly racist
and willing to label themselves as part of this organization,
not even the other people who genuinely believe in it
without speaking on it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
Point.
Speaker 26 (01:32:40):
Being erasing the history of slavery and erasing the horrible
atrocities that happened in this country is a genuine crime,
and it's intentional because if it's a RaSE, those patterns
are going to repeat themselves. So erasing this history isn't
just ignorant, it's malicious.
Speaker 2 (01:32:53):
Hold on, I'm writing that down. I just don't want
to get yelled at anymore, all right, So I'm trying
to erase the history. Uh, I don't know. You guys
gonna put in the work, not you guys should white supremacy,
any supremacy is bad. I would assume it's bad. It is,
but you know, but Chad, it could be your pastor look,
(01:33:15):
there's some whack could do pastors out there.
Speaker 5 (01:33:16):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
I know because I get attacked by them all the time,
not like on the street or something. They'll send me
like how stupid I am because I don't hate Palestine
enough and that I'm not advocating for the destruction and
then the replacing of the you know, of of the
dome with the next temple so we can usher in
the rapture. I mean, you know, just yeah, there's some
(01:33:39):
wackados out there. I'm not gonna pretend that there isn't,
but you know, maybe it's a bit much. I mean,
I like putting in the work as long as I
don't have to do anything. I think we all know that, right.
That's why they made the weight loss drug. Because the
weight loss drug, when you think about it, they give
you these two options. What are your options? Oh okay,
so here are your options.
Speaker 13 (01:34:00):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:34:00):
You can take all of these supplements. We can restrict
your caloric intake to three hundred calories today here. Then
tomorrow you get seven hundred carras. You have to to
take all of these supplements as well, which counts for
four hundred different calories, and you have to sweat profusely
while running up a hill NonStop. What's plan B Take
(01:34:23):
this shot and eat whatever the hell you want as
long as it's wind in the region. But you probably
won't even eat that much because you're gonna feel full
all the time. Yeah, I'm gonna do plant b See,
that's kind of work we put in. Same thing goes
here with the racism. Some people are so just they're
addicted to the idea of everybody being a victim. Everybody's racist,
(01:34:45):
everybody's this there. Does everybody have biases?
Speaker 30 (01:34:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
By the way, biases are normal. You can go online
to try to date how many people there biases? Nobody
under six feet tall. That's a bias. No, Dad bad,
it's just hard bod. That's a bias, isn't it. Yeah,
but it's different. Why is it different because you make
(01:35:08):
it so so again, put in the work, but only
do it so much because you know, we're not that
kind of people here. Meanwhile, Cracker Barrel, speaking of racism.
Speaker 30 (01:35:18):
Cracker Barrel is saying, in a statement this morning, we
said we would listen and we have our new logo
is going away and our old timer will remain. They
continued on that as a proud American institution. Our seventy
thousand hard working employees look forward to welcoming you to
our table.
Speaker 5 (01:35:35):
And they did that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:36):
Because they did listen and they realized, all right, people
are pissed, and they did this to themselves. This is
all self inflicted and it wasn't because they went woke.
I think that's like everything that's overused, and it got
to the point where we can't even do Woke Wednesday
because it's so ridiculous because it's so overused. Although there's
a bunch of wacken news out there, but that's why
we do White Women Wednesday because mostly the woke stuff
(01:35:56):
comes from them anyways. But they allowed a bunch of young,
young hipsters to design a place built on comfort food.
That's that's what they did. It's built on comfort food.
It's built on going to a place that feels like
you're going to me ma's house and then you're gonna
go it's you tried to make it a hip place,
(01:36:20):
but it's the Waltons. It's the country store. It's going
in and going, wow, check out all these cool Christmas things.
And this jacket over here is really neat, and oh
my goodness, look at all the Mickey mouse stuck because
they got a bunch of that stuff over there, and
what about this over here? And there's olds Hogwarts and
you oh, look at the giant candy bar and look
at this neat toy and this out and then you
(01:36:42):
go in and you eat, or you do it vice versa,
and you buy the candle hole. They try to turn
it into hipster world because they got a bunch of young,
hip people working on it, when instead what they should
have done is make some small changes.
Speaker 5 (01:36:55):
Then.
Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
Turn the people and the product into the thing that
you were making hip and cool. And instead they're like,
we're just gonna totally sanitize this and make it minimalist.
Speaker 16 (01:37:16):
It's not.
Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
It's not French made r D. It's not you know,
it's not. No, it's not Nobu in any of these big,
you know, five star Michelin places. It's none of those things.
It's comfort food. It's chicken fried steak, it's pancakes. That's
what this is. And they swung and miss and realized, Okay,
we're gonna have to pivot, and they did, and they did.
(01:37:39):
And this is where Trump, for whatever reason, he gets
involved in these things which I always think is kind
of ridiculous. But that being said, this is another one
of those things where people were upset. He read the
tea leaves, he mentioned it. Not too long after that
they make the change. He sees it as a win.
(01:37:59):
And he's probably never even been to a cracker barrel.
Maybe he has, but it's another one of those things
where he finds a win, No doubt about that, No
doubt about that. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty
four to twenty three at Chadmnton show is Your Acts,
Your Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. Speaking of Trump, he
(01:38:25):
wants an extension in DC. I don't know if he's
going to get the extension that he seems to think.
It's you know, I could just declare this or declare that,
and then I'm going to move into Chicago. And it's
a great way for him to do what he does
in the sense that he's pitting crime or safety, no
(01:38:51):
nuance in anything. It's like, well, if you don't want
them here, it's because you want your people to die
and you love crime, and that's not it. I like freedom,
and I think we can all understand that. But it's
a smart thing when you know, because you're doing in DC. Now,
I think when he expands it, I think he's going
to get a little bit more pushed backing by some
(01:39:12):
Republicans and definitely by the Libertarians. But the one thing
about this, though, is every time the Democrats come out
and try to talk about this, they fail because they're
not good on crime in many of these blue cities.
(01:39:33):
And it's not just the violent crime, the quality of
life crime is as important in the big picture because
people are sick and tired of being accosted, sick and
tired of having things stolen, sick and tired of you
name the insanity that's happening on these streets. That isn't
(01:39:53):
the violence, but it's the other stuff, and that everybody
has felt whenever they open their mouth they look like
they're totally cool, that that's just part of what life is.
And Trump's saying, no, it's not. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Mented show, is

Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
I love doing this segment of the program. We do
it every single week. It's called One Hit Wonder Wednesday.
This is where we dive a little deeper into a
song that, for a moment in time we all fell
in love with could have been it artists there was
trying for years and had that one breakthrough Lightning in
(01:42:04):
a Bottle. Could have been a band that was brand new,
just starting out their first hit and they're thinking this
is going to be easy. But then we never hear
from them again. But for a few weeks, months, sometimes
even a year, that song stayed with us, became part
of the fabric of pop culture in America and globally.
(01:42:29):
And today do we have a doozy for you? And
I'm talking about a doozy? Kids? Tell me more chant? Oh,
I'm gonna tell you more. Are you guys ready for it?
Let's do it.
Speaker 11 (01:42:41):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:42:41):
It's time for another edition of One Hit Wonder Wednesday.
You may not remember the name of the band, you
definitely know the song.
Speaker 16 (01:43:09):
This Bruiser.
Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
This is One Hit Wonder Wednesday. All right, one hit
Wonder Wednesday, nineteen eighty two, Birmingham, England, five used should
give you a hint right there? Ages eleven to sixteen,
led by lead singer Dennis Seedon, two brothers, Michael Grant
(01:43:31):
and Kelvin Grant, Freddie Junior Waite and his brother Patrick Waite.
They sign a record deal. They go into the studio,
they make an album and get ready to record what
would be their big hit. But there's a problem. You see,
the song is a rewrite of the Mighty Diamonds past
(01:43:55):
the Coochie you see, that's ye for the sticky, icky,
the wacky to becky. So they decide, hey, we got
to figure this out. And they go in and they say,
all right, we need to rewrite this right because we're eleven,
(01:44:16):
a couple of fifteen year olds and a sixteen year old.
We can't be singing about the weed. What should we do?
Speaker 17 (01:44:21):
Win in the control room and said, well, how we're
going to change the lyric and we just went, well,
cutchie dutchy and that's what we It was as simple
as that, you know, literally go back in, re record
the vocal, change it from cutching to dutchy.
Speaker 5 (01:44:38):
How does it feel when you got no food? And
the rest is history? So they say, little did we know? Wait,
it was going to take us.
Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
That's right, the rest is more than just history. These
five kids who didn't even want to tell their friends
when they came back from school that they'd done an
album and a video because they were embarrassed that it
would suck and everybody would make fun of them. Nobody
made fun of them. No, no, no, Today's one hit
wonder from Birmingham in England, musical youth. Are you ready
(01:45:09):
to pass the dutchy.
Speaker 15 (01:45:12):
You shy with.
Speaker 2 (01:45:21):
Us?
Speaker 15 (01:45:21):
I'mswer food of looks they make your armscrub, don't believe,
believe leave leave.
Speaker 11 (01:45:33):
Fast on side.
Speaker 16 (01:45:36):
Fast Reezy.
Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
Song was a smash hit number one in Britain, number
nine here in the United States of America. Funny thing
is they were on top of the they were doing
all of these things, but they didn't know where their
song was. And when you were a kid or an adult,
you kind of want to know where it is on
the charts. And they thought, maybe it's not going to
be on the charts. As they're listening, they're going.
Speaker 5 (01:46:12):
Through the top ten and that song hasn't They have
not said anything top to seven.
Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
I mean, it wasn't awesome. You're like, oh my god,
what five four? Top for Bussy with a number one?
We just oh my god, oh your goodness. Indeed, they
broke apart nineteen eighty five more than a few issues,
including the loss of a couple of bandmates. Two of
them still tour worldwide, playing all the you know, nineteen
(01:46:39):
eighties festivals and the rewind Festival and whatnot. Musical Youth
was nominated Get Ready for This for a Grammy Award
for the Best New Artist in nineteen eighty three. You know,
they were the first black act ever nominated in that category.
Are you kidding me? That's insane? Sold over five million
copies worldwide, and the song is heard everywhere, including TV
(01:47:05):
and films like The Simpsons, The Wedding Singer. It may
be a one hit wonder, but globally it was massive everywhere,
and when it comes on, people still start grooving and
dancing because they're like, oh, yeah, I know what this
is all about.
Speaker 16 (01:47:21):
Bossize Bassidy.
Speaker 2 (01:47:35):
Just incredible, absolutely incredible. Think about it. It's eleven year
old couple, what thirteen, fourteen and fifteen year olds with
one sixteen year old something like.
Speaker 17 (01:47:44):
That post on size bost Onsidey.
Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
Tago a joke about it to this day. They go
on tour and they get paid and they laugh because
while they were on tour globally they said, we never
made any money on tour. We're always broke. He goes, Now,
he goes, We've had one hit. It was forty years ago.
(01:48:12):
