Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chat Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
The government still shut down, day number eight. Now it's
time for ninety second sub government shutdown talk. All right,
ninety seconds of shutdown talk. I don't know when they're
get to get back together. The band's not getting back together.
One thing I do know, though, there are issues. And
(00:37):
if you're out there and you send to yourself, hey,
I gotta fly today, you better be prepared for in
certain areas that that may not be the way that
you think it's going to be.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Just a week into this government shutdown, the disruption to
air travel is growing.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
The FAA now warning.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Of staff shortages at at least eight major air traffic
control facilities, threatening cancelation and delays across the country. From
Las Vegas to Chicago, Dallas and Houston to Boston, Newark, Atlanta,
and Nashville. Air traffic controllers are working without pay and
now calling out sick.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
So Burbank they just shut it down the other day.
They're like, we're gonna shut it down because nobody's here.
You know. Then you had yesterday BNA, which is Nashville,
where they were like, you know what, we're gonna limit
who's coming here. Dallas staring at you, baby, if you
are going to be heading to the airport today, double
(01:35):
quadruple check what's going on, just in case. I think
it's a smart thing to do, because the reality is,
this is when it's starting to affect the average person
who doesn't work for the government or with the government
a government, So check right, and Dallas is one of
those hubs. But it's also one of those things too,
(01:55):
you know, whether you're you're heading out of DFW or
whether you're, you know, heading out of Atlanta. It's also
a place where people It's one of the hubs people
land and then they get on another plane go elsewhere.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Well, guess what if there's issues elsewhere.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Even though you may have enough staffing, doesn't mean that
they've got enough people elsewhere to get the plane that
you need to you.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
So this is the.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
First time that people who are not government employees or
contractors with the government are starting to feel it. Speaking
of feeling it, yesterday, Trump's like, do we have to
pay these people.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
That were furloughing.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
Air traffic controllers are exempt from being furloughed during a shutdown.
What some seven hundred and fifty thousand federal workers are
currently out of work. Now, President Trump suggesting not all
federal workers on furlough are entitled to receive mac bay
once the government reopens, even though that is the law.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
So wait what So, by the way, and as you know,
he follows the law. By the way, this is a
law that he signed into law. So let's break down
the furlough bit really quick. So if the and again
I'm not a fan of this, but he signed it
into law, and we'll get to that in a second.
(03:15):
But furloughed, you're sent home, right. You're not a necessity,
you're not an indisposable part of the government. You're not
air traffic control because we need that. You're not that person.
But you provide a service and you work for the government.
And so there is at this time a closure. So
(03:35):
you go home, but you're going to get your back pay,
which again you're not working. See all the other people
are working and they'll get their pay. You get a
vacation and you get your pay, which is an odd thing.
But I didn't make the law.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
In twenty nineteen, President Trump signed a law guaranteeing retroactive
pay for federal workers once a shutdown ends. When pressed
by reporters on what he will defy the law, the
president saying this, I follow.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
The law, and what the law says is correct, and
I follow the law.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Maybe we'll find out if you do, oh my lord.
And what else is becoming a story of this is
the guy who is the architect of Project twenty twenty five,
is a guy that's advising him in the administration that.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Hey, you don't have to pay these people.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Now, I find it bizarre that we would send people
home and tell them, hey, go have a vacation. We'll
pay you. But again, I didn't make up the law.
So if the law says you are going to pay them,
then you need to pay them. If you don't like
the law, you can change the law, is what I'm
(04:55):
trying to say. There, Okay, okay, we moved from there
to the National Guard. Speaking of laws, Will Trump decide
that he needs to declare what is going on in
these cities, these lawless cities, they're really not lawless, these
lawless evils. Is he going to say, hey, this is
(05:19):
an insurrection and I need to make sure that we
come in and save everything. What it's not an insurrect now?
Speaker 7 (05:32):
Now?
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Could be?
Speaker 8 (05:33):
Could be Portland right now is in a major holding
action because a federal judge essentially issued an emergency order
preventing the activity of the two hundred California National Guardsmen
that had arrived there in Oregon. An additional two hundred
Oregon National Guardsmen had been in training now for about
a week or so before they were called in. Both
(05:55):
of those actions are now on hold, and we're going
to see a federal court hearing on Thursday, and we'll
see whether what an appeals court decides on that.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Now, I'm going to tell you guys this straight up.
I give it to you as straight as can be.
This is all for show, This is all for the cameras.
It is all a contest of you. Guys are failures
and you can't control anything. So look at what we're doing.
(06:24):
I'm not saying there hasn't been some trouble. It's nothing
like the Summer of Love in Portland. But the reality
is it's a small group of people anywhere between fifty
in certain times, maybe one hundred, but on average it's
as low as like twenty or thirty people out there.
There's more people filming the protesters than anybody else in Portland. So,
(06:50):
and like I said, you can make a better argument
that the ICE facilities should have some form of extra
layer of protection based on the shootings and the threats
to ICE. So yeah, you can make that argument. But
as far as being on the streets, no, no, no,
(07:13):
this isn't about crime. So him the president saying that
they're lawless and all of these things. We're going to
send people there to fight crime, and the reality is
you're really not. You're sending them there to back up
ICE at the facilities. That's mostly what you're doing. I
don't think these people are going to be on the streets,
nor should they be on the streets. How many times
(07:34):
do we have to say that? And for all of
you out there who are like, well, I don't care.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
They should be able to do this.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Everybody is small government, right conservatives out there, Let's follow
the constitution until you want to say, nah, let's get
rid of the constitution.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
And this.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Just at this moment, right, we'll reinstate it later, but
just this this moment, let's do no, no, double, no,
triple no.
Speaker 8 (08:02):
It circumvents the Posse Comititis Act, which does not allow
active duty troops to carry out police actions law enforcement activity.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
But when you invoke the Insurrection.
Speaker 8 (08:13):
Act, yes, active duty troops can be used for law
enforcement duty. And that's why you're seeing National guardsmen on
active duty because they can carry out some law enforcement
duties depending on whether they're called in by our governor
or not. But when a president invokes the Insurrection Act,
those active duty troops can carry out law enforcement actions.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
So now you're thinking, well, where they can do that. Yeah,
it hasn't been done for a while. The last time
it was done, I was in the thick of it.
Speaker 8 (08:43):
We last saw it used in nineteen ninety two in
Los Angeles to restore order in Los Angeles there following
the Ronnie King riots. We also set outside invoked in
the nineteen sixties by President John F. Kennedy to essentially
enforce civil rights laws. And we also saw it in
the nineteen in nineteen sixty seven and sixty eight to
restore order following riots in some cities.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Now I was there in ninety two, and my uncle
and I we got into it last night because and
you can check it out. It's funny. We have a
good time. We get into it. We have a good
time on the our live streams check out the YouTube.
But as you know, I was in the midst of
it in ninety two, so and it got hot. Then
(09:27):
the Governor's like, all right, we need something. They invoked
it and they came out. You know what, they did nothing,
not that I could see outside of standing around in areas.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
They didn't even know what the hell they were supposed
to do.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
I just remember I was telling Paul last night, so
pick and say which is big lots and not't even
if they're still around anymore. But that was what it
was called back in the day. We're boarding up this
building because my mother, you know, she was a partner
and she had this, you know, worked for this big
glass company, you know, so these glaciers, but they had
(10:02):
mostly massive commercial like Target and seven to eleven and
all that stuff. So we were going out to all
the places we were boarding stuff up. We were there
at it, pick and say, AKA big lots. And as
we're there, everybody standing outside they weren't.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
It was funny.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
There's hundreds of people milling around as we're starting to
board up. It's you know, five, then it's twenty, then
it's thirty five, then it's fifty, and then there's a
whole bunch of people, and and we're we're boarding everything up,
and they're watching us because they're going to go in
the minute we're done. And they're being very respectful to us,
by the way, which is also bizarre. And as we're
(10:41):
doing this in the parking lot, it's the National Guard.
There's like twenty of them. They're in their outfits. Right,
they got the whole thing on, right, This is not
a drill. They did nothing the minute we were done,
and somebody goes, are you guys done? We said yes,
they went, They tore everything apart, went in, stole a
whole bunch of stuff. They did nothing. So again it's
(11:03):
it's it's ridiculous. And this isn't so much about the
whether or not Trump's going to use the Insurrection Act.
All of this is to say, so much of this
is about the show. Can I troll the Democrats and
remind everybody how weak they are, which is a smart
thing to do on crime and at the same time
(11:26):
show that I'm somebody not to be trifled with.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
That's what he's doing. But it's so for.

(12:52):
Plus we got your horror movie countdown with one of
the greatest horror movie moments in history.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
This is the Chad Show.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Yesterday Pam Bondi faced the Musak.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Now, she had a hearing, and you know, as we
all know, a lot of these hearings, a vast majority
of them are a waste of time, and they're more
for show than anything else. Can you get your point
across in these thirty seconds, which will make a great
SoundBite and we can cut it up and put it
all over the GRAM and the TikTok and the X
and whatnot. There was a bit of that yesterday, but
(13:44):
for the most part, she got grilled because she's useless,
and she should have been grilled.
Speaker 9 (13:51):
Attorney General Bondi came prepped with a binder, and in
that binder it appears that she had pre prepared attacks
for every Democrat senator on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where
she leveled personal attacks against Senator Richard Blumenthal about comments
that he had made about his military service that are
under questioned. She had attacks ready for other Democrats where
(14:15):
undocumented immigrants were killed in their state.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Yeah, it was anything that they said. She went down
to her notes and she was like, hold on a second,
and she's like, no, no, no, no, no, what's your name again?
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Oh yeah, here's one. It's like, it was like, what
are you doing?
Speaker 10 (14:30):
It was extremely hostiled.
Speaker 9 (14:32):
I think that we heard Attorney General Bondi immediately in
her first exchange with Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, get
asked about what conversations that she may have had between
the White House about deploying the National Guard to democratic
run cities, and Bondi took direct aim at Senator Durbin.
You could see in the hearing that even Senator Durbin,
who was expecting a fight from Attorney General Bondi, was
(14:55):
taken aback by the tone of her comments, and that
really reverberated through out the hearing.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, I was definitely contentious, and by the way, the
tone of her comments every time I see her, I'm like,
why are you yelling? Why is your voice higher than
everybody else's and it feels like you're on your tippy does.
She got grilled, but you know she had her comebacks
because somebody had written her some comebacks, I guess, And
(15:21):
I wanted to know about the Epstein stuff, of which
she had zero good answers for.
Speaker 9 (15:26):
She basically just said that the current statements that they've
been putting out saying that they've since determined that there's
no more reason to release any files and that there's
no evidence that exists that would implicate potential co conspirators
of Epstein three.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty three
at Chad Benson Show, Is your ex your insta YouTube?
Speaker 4 (15:46):
And more right here on The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 9 (15:50):
And just the constant contradictory comments that we've heard out
of this administration related to those files.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Yes, she's not done well. She has flopped, and I
would be surprised if she's here by the end of
the year. But you never know, You never ever know.
When it comes to this administration. We move from one
white woman to another white woman. It is white woman Wednesday,
This is where the white women progressives they.
Speaker 10 (16:15):
Let suare us hi am kyline.
Speaker 11 (16:17):
Here are five common things that white people say during
conversations about race that are not helpful at all. So
if you're a white person, I would encourage you to
stop doing these things and either contribute productively to the
conversation or stop talking.
Speaker 10 (16:26):
Number one, why can't we all just get along?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Wow?
Speaker 10 (16:29):
What a beautiful sentiment.
Speaker 11 (16:31):
I wish we could also get along the problem is
that there are people in power who will do anything
to maintain that power, and they refuse to fix a
corrupt system that needs to be dismantled. Number two, I
don't see color. That's a lovely sentiment, but wildly untrue. Unfortunately,
race is a critical factor to the experiences that people have,
so we absolutely do.
Speaker 10 (16:49):
Have to talk about it.
Speaker 11 (16:50):
Number three, everyone's over the woke twenty twenty stuff. Okay,
so you're just admitting that you only cared about black, brown,
indigenous people in twenty twenty.
Speaker 10 (16:58):
This is a lifelong fight.
Speaker 11 (16:59):
This isn't something you just post the black square, you
post a video of you doing this and then it
just like goes away.
Speaker 10 (17:04):
You fix racism.
Speaker 11 (17:05):
Number four, I'm friends with a insert minority group here.
Speaker 10 (17:08):
Great, why are you telling us this? This has nothing to
do with the conversation.
Speaker 11 (17:12):
And number five, everyone's so dramatic these days, people are
suffering and losing their lives because of racial injustice.
Speaker 10 (17:17):
So it's actually a pretty serious problem.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
And we'll be talking to you in a little bit
because I'm sure you'll have more to lectures on. And
some of it you go, oh yeah, I could see
some of that, and some of it is just insane
as we all know. Three two, three, five, three eight,
twenty four, twenty three At Chad Benson Shows, your ex
your Insta coming up? MTG said, what Chad Benson Show?
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Then Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show?
Speaker 10 (18:05):
Is this it?
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Are we going to get an actual deal when it
comes to Hamas and Israel ceasefire? Is it going to happen?
I'm a little skeptical, just because i think one side
is very skeptical and there's some hate over there the
other side, Israel. They've got some people who don't want
(18:29):
to end this thing, aren't thrilled with what Trump has proposed.
But as Trump said the other day, to Bebi, take
the fing win bro.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
I'm paraphrasing real Hope.
Speaker 12 (18:43):
Two years after Hamas's deadly attack on Israel, as peace
talks ramp up in Egypt, top officials from the US
cut our, Turkey and Israel set to join as momentum
groves for a deal to end the war and bring
all the remaining hostages home Israel. Paula the moments Ha
mass attacked, killing twelve hundred people, taking two hundred and
(19:05):
fifty one more hostage Taheim. He died defending his kibbutz.
His body's still being held by Hamas. In Gaza.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
People want their family alive or dead back. They want
to be able to say their goodbyes. They deserve that.
What Hamas did was awful and horrible. Since then, it
has been an absolute destruction of Gaza city. I don't
know how many people have died. You know, yesterday we
(19:35):
the number they put out there, which is again the
Gaza run health ministry, He says, sixty five thousand. I
think it's closer to one hundred thousand. That entire city
has wiped out. There is nothing left. You can't tell
me there's not another twenty or thirty thousand people that
(19:56):
aren't buried under there I would like to think there
is nobody buried under there, but I think we all
know that's not true. The other thing, you know, now
that they've marked the day, there's optimism.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Let's get to the phases. There's twenty of them.
Speaker 12 (20:12):
Phase one is supposed to envisage a ceasefire, the release of.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
All forty eight hostages.
Speaker 12 (20:17):
That's all remaining hostages alive and dead, twenty or so
I believe to still be alive, as well as a
partial withdrawal. Its phase two, where you get onto the
issue of Hamas disarming, that things are going to get difficult.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Yeah, it's going to be difficult.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
It's absolutely going to be difficult to get them because
you've got some people there that even if the uppers
in Hamas agree to something, doesn't mean there's not offshoots
that will say no and continue to fight. So I
(20:55):
understand why Israel doesn't trust for sure, And when you
hear Israel right in Hebrew when they give their speeches,
I understand why the Palestinians are a little wary as well.
But I think something will get done. Now, will all
(21:15):
twenty points get done? There's a lot of points, man,
I'm just saying there's a.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Lot of points there. The more points there is, the tougher.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
I think it's going to be.
Speaker 12 (21:22):
I think it's fair to say that it looks better
than it has done at any points in the last
two years. The chances of success appear as strong as
they have, but I don't want to overstate it. There
are significant hurdles to try and get over.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
We'll see if cooler commer heads will prevail. I would
like to think it's going to happen again. Optimistic but
realistic is the way that you need to look at this.
I think it can happen, but realistically, is it going
to happen the way that it's drawn up? Probably not?
(22:04):
And will there be setbacks? Yes?
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Is this a good step forward?
Speaker 2 (22:08):
It is, but don't think there won't be a few
steps backwards as well. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show. Is
your ext your insta are, YouTube, Facebook, and more so
MGG that's Marjorie Taylor Green, not to be confused with
Machine Gun Kelly MKG. I just want to put that
(22:29):
out there because I screwed that up the other day, Like, wait,
they're not the same people.
Speaker 7 (22:35):
She is.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Doing something that I think is absolutely smart. She is
looking at the midterms in a way that the Republicans
aren't looking at it, and she is, you know, using
the a word affordability. And it's important. I've told you, guys,
(23:04):
if I'm the Democrats, what I would do when it
comes to you know, they're showing a fight in the
wrong times like now, and I'll tell you why in
a second, And I would let the Republicans sit with
the potential of what may be coming. There's times when
(23:27):
you put a battle up and you realize, Okay, this
is a fight that we need to fight. And there
are other times it's like this right here, this isn't
the fight we need to fight at this moment.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
And not this way.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
And the reason I say that is affordability. So if
you guys are unfamiliar with the ACA, that's the Affordable
Care Act that the government got involved and became not
really as affordable as people thought. Well, those subsidies are
going to go away. We talked yesterday twenty the two
states are already in according to MarketWatch, according to Moody's, according.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
To UCLA study, in a recession, and you've got.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Many more that are close to recession, with only a
few that are growing, Texas being one of them, Boise, Idaho, Florida, Right,
you know, but so you've got a lot of them
that are teetering on the Affordability is the thing, the thing,
the thing, the jam when it comes to voters. An
(24:37):
MTG is the only one I'm hearing on the right
who's saying, hey, hey, nobody can afford anything, and you're
about ready to get rid of these subsidies, like it
or not. And when people say, well, that's their fault. No, no, no,
no no. When government got involved, it became everybody's issue,
and people who can afford it, well, they were getting subsidies.
(25:03):
Those subsidies going away are going to make things so unaffordable.
And as I tried to remind my friends on the right,
twenty five million people potentially losing their healthcare. Do you
know what those people are voters?
Speaker 13 (25:19):
Well, if you follow my post, health insurance is something
I've been talking about for quite a while. Insurance across
the board is crushing people. The cost of living is
gone so high in the past four and a half
years and it hasn't come down. Rent is unaffordable. You
can't buy a home. A lot of people don't even
know if they'll ever be able to buy a home.
(25:40):
But insurance premiums are unbelievably high up into the right.
Speaker 10 (25:44):
Yep, and they're looking to go up.
Speaker 13 (25:46):
Not only people on the ACA, but people that have
private plans as well. This is the number one issue
I hear about in my district. I work for Georgia's
fourteenth district, and so I'm willing to take off Team Jerseys,
so to speak, right now and call it literally like
it is. This is a crisis in America, and I
really want to work on it.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Affordability the only thing I'd be talking about. Why is
Mandani doing so well in New York Affordability? That special
election they had in Iowa place a couple months ago
where the lady who wanted she was a Democrat, what
was she doing? She was talking about afordability and the
(26:28):
district she won Trump on that by a dozen points
of affordability.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
MTG.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
As older kids, they brought this to her attention. And
by the way, it's not just people that are on Obamacare.
You're looking at a twenty plus percent jump potentially on
people who were on you know, have their health insurance
through their work. The expense of life is growing at
(27:03):
such a pace, and you can sit there and tell
me it's.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Never been better. It's the greatest economy of all time.
We're the hottest. Keep telling yourself that.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
But when you go to the bank, I hear from
you guys, you're like, you don't feel like it's the
hottest time in history. And she's the only one that's
talking about this on the right, She's the only one
who's saying, Hey, guess what, this is not doable.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
It's not.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
Well.
Speaker 13 (27:35):
No, the issues of the subsidies are real. It's not
something that anybody can say is made up. Also, people
with regular or private plans, their premiums are looking to
go up a medium of eighteen percent.
Speaker 10 (27:50):
That's brutal.
Speaker 13 (27:51):
I know a lot of small business owners, like a
family of four, and they're paying two thousand dollars a month,
two thousand dollars a month with deductibles of seven thousand
to ten thousand, and approximately forty percent of these people
don't even use their health insurance, so they're just burning
money just in case they might have cancer, or just
in case they have a terrible car accident and then
(28:12):
you've got single moms on many many Americans that are
really struggling, that are on the ACA. If you double
their health insurance or even triple it, these people are
they're either going to have to drop it or they're
going to be choosing between rent and their health insurance.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
And I'm just going to piggyback off this and tell
you guys this right now. One of the big reasons
we moved out here and for me do local shows.
I was super excited because of how big the station was.
It's amazing. But the other thing is it was the
benefits package. I've told you guys this is before I'll
let you in in a little sum If you don't
know the cost of our health insurance prior to this,
the monthly payment that we were paying would have been
(28:50):
able to cover the cost of a mortgage for a
seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars home. It is absolutely
important Republicans better figure this out, and they better do
it fast. Healthcare and the cost of life are so
(29:11):
damn important, and they're tied together. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is
your ex your insta your YouTube and more coming up.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
We have got our number eighteen.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Scariest movie of all time and this one actually happens
to have.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
A direct correlation with ore one hit.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Wonder that we'll do next hour. Birch Gold Gold, Gold, Gold,
Gold Gold, how about that record highs Why gold? People
are worried, big institutions are worried. We've got unrest globally.
We have got a situation here where you know, a
weakening dollar, I mean it's pretty it's pretty ugly, a
(30:02):
rising cost of life, oh yeah, yeah yeah, and then
you've got situations like could there or could there not
be some sort of bubble potentially in the market.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
So what are you looking to do?
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Gold? That's what diversification key. It's about protecting yourself and
Birch Gold wants to help you with them. Text the
word Benz into ninety eight ninety eight, ninety eight. Now
let them get you out an info kit on why
gold right now is so smart and why diversifying at
this moment in time is the right thing to do
for you and your family.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
But you got to get the information. So text the
word Benson now to ninety eight ninety eight, ninety eight
for Birch Gold.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
They'll get you out the info A plus rated by
the Better Business Bureau. There who I choose and my
family chooses when it comes to our precious metals. Text
the word Benson now to ninety eight, ninety eight, ninety
eight for Birch Gold. Coming up number eighteen in our
Scary Movie Countdown. And this one is both hilarious and frightening.
And there is a moment in the movie that really
(31:01):
changed the movie world forever, not just horror movies, but
the movie world. Will do that straight ahead, Chad Benson.
Speaker 14 (31:09):
Chow serving up talk radio medium, rare and dripping with irony.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
It's Chad Benson, all right, let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
It is our Scary Movie Countdown.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
Are you ready for a classic?
Speaker 15 (31:32):
The time has come, so prepare yourself for a journey
of fear from the darkest corner of cinema, the most
bone chilling tales ever told. It's the countdown you've been
waiting for. Which movie will take the top spot? How
(31:54):
about a fish tail so big because the jaws open wide,
Or the story of a young innocent girl battling evil
with some help.
Speaker 16 (32:10):
Well, then let's introduce ourselves. I'm Damian Karas and I'm
that Devil? Where's Reagan in here with us?
Speaker 15 (32:18):
Or the Fright of a Madman with a chainsaw? You'll
have to listen to find out.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Are you ready?
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Number eighteen? All right?
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Number eighteen is a movie that came outs a while
ago in the eighties.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
I was a young lad, but I remember it. I
remember it.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Indeed, it combined humor with horror. The director and the
writer was a man by the name of John Lannis.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
He actually wrote this American World from London when he
was twenty years old. It is an incredible movie because
of a scene in the movie, and we'll get to
that in a second. But the humor was awesome. There
was a love story. David Naughton, who will get to
later on is the one hit Wonder of the day,
(33:15):
played the star of the movie. But the other star
of the movie was a guy you never saw. His
name was Rick Baker. Rick Baker designed the Werewolf. Rick
Baker was a man who went on to win an
Academy Award based on this movie and the way that
he did stuff. And he said, but John Landis came
(33:36):
to him, he said, look, I want you to do
a werewolf, and I wanted to be at all fours
and I want to be this big, giant beast. But
I don't want it to be cheesy when it comes
to how he transforms.
Speaker 17 (33:45):
I want to do a transformation in a way that
never been done before. It doesn't make sense to me
that a man changing in his body, going through this
metamorphosis would sit in a chair like on Cheney Junior
and be still until he finished changing, because I think
it would be painful and I want him to be
able to move and I want to show the pain.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
And you know, how would you do that? And I
have no idea, but I would love to and he did,
and for those two minutes on camera watching David Naughton,
who played David in the movie, transform from a guy
who had been attacked to a guy that was becoming
a werewolf, and the pain was real. God man, you
(34:48):
can feel that pain through the radio there, through the speakers.
It's an incredible movie, made a decent amount of money,
became a hit, but became a cultural hit. And that's
part of what we do these eight countdowns is there's
a cultural aspect to it. Everybody knows the scene, even
people that have not seen the movie, know the scene.
It's a scene that's iconic. And Rick Baker went on
(35:09):
to win the first ever Special Effects Makeup Award for
the Academy.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
And it changed the way we viewed Werewolves much different.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Cultural icon absolutely hilarity, one hundred percent frights, you bet
YOUA and a love story. You're number eighteen on the
Chad Benson Show Scariest Movie Countdown American Werewolf in London.
If you have any suggestions, let us know three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Shows, your
ex and your instat right here on The Chad Benson Show.
(35:40):
Coming up, hour number two of the program. More on
the government shutdown, talk a little bit about that Scotus.
Yesterday in session they were hearing a case about conversion therapy.
We're gonna talk a little bit about that as well.
And if you've not seen the Katie Porter interview she's
running the governor of California. Let's just say it went
a little sideways and she got angry and she wants
(36:01):
to run the fifth biggest economy on the planet. I'm
thinking that's a no.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Based on this.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
We'll talk a little bit about that. We've got a
bunch of other stuff and one hit Wonder Wednesday, which
ties into our scary movie countdown, and we'll tell you
about that as well. If you miss any show, great
the podcast our number two straight at Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
It's that time of the program where we laugh a
lot and do ninety seconds of government shutdown, which is
usually ninety seconds.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
More than they deserve. Now it's time for ninety seconds
of government shutdown.
Speaker 18 (37:08):
Talk growing gridlock for travelers across the country as the
government shutdown hits air travel hard, the FAA warning of
staff shortages at at least eight major locations, threatening delays
and cancelations in Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Boston, Newark, Atlanta,
and Nashville.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
Smaller airports like the.
Speaker 18 (37:28):
One in Burbank, California, hit hardest, some control towers forced
to shut down for hours on end.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Yeah, it's now hitting people that are not government employees.
Now hitting people that are not contracted with the government.
That's when you're going to start to get that. But
remember what we talked about yesterday. Fifty point one that's
(37:57):
the number you're looking for. Who gets to that number
first will be the one that will blink the quickest,
because they'll look like, oh oh, we could be in
serious trouble here. They may blame us for that. We're
not quite there. Yesterday we were talking about the polls.
(38:18):
Thirty eight percent blame the Republicans, thirty two percent both parties,
thirty percent the Democrats. At this moment in time, it's
leaning a little bit to the Republicans, but not a lot,
so we're still in holding mode. Ah. One of the
other things going on when it comes to the shutdown.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Is who should or shouldn't get paid.
Speaker 18 (38:41):
Air traffic controllers are considered essential workers and have already
faced extreme staffing shortages. Now they won't be paid until
the shutdown ends, possibly going weeks without a paycheck. It
all has a serious impact on productivity.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
Yeah, they're calling in sick. We heard that.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
But the whole page thing is rather interesting because there
seems to be at least noise and some stuff on
paper that it moves afoot to say if you're not working,
you shouldn't get paid.
Speaker 7 (39:14):
Now.
Speaker 19 (39:14):
The President didn't go into any more details on who
exactly would not receive back pay if the White House
went through with this. But behind the scenes here at
the White House, there is a memo circulating within the
West Wing, and we obtain that memo in which the
administration indicates that only the workers who are deemed essential,
who are working right now without pay, even with the
(39:35):
government shut down, would be maybe entitled to the pay
once the government reopens, and everyone else could just be
simply out of luck.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
Now not entitled to.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
If you're deemed essential and you show up to work
and you don't get paid because of the shutdown, when
the shutdown is over, you should get paid. I don't
see how you're even comp in plating any of this. Now,
the furlough is a different issue. So furlough is so
you get you know, we deem you essential. You're a
(40:08):
needed part of what is going on here. Okay, you
over here are furloughed people. You you're part of the machine.
But you're not a necessity at this moment in time.
The world will still go on without you being here,
So you stay home. The interesting thing is, in twenty nineteen,
(40:31):
Trump signed a law, and the law says, hey, even
those people get paid.
Speaker 5 (40:37):
In twenty nineteen, President Trump signed a law guaranteeing retroactive
pay for federal workers once a shutdown ends. When pressed
by reporters on whether he will defy the law, the
president saying.
Speaker 6 (40:49):
This, I follow the law, and I what the law
says is correct, and I follow the law.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
So we'll see. It's gonna be interesting to see how
they try to wiggle this in and out. Is it
more of a you know, just crap stirring maybe or
is there more to it which is always a possibility.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Remember with Trump, you know, like we talked about and
I still go back to this.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Nigel Farage said this, don't take anything Trump says. Literally,
take everything he says seriously, meaning he's gonna say stuff
that's crazy and wacky and all of the things. But
(41:38):
inside of that is seriousness that Okay, maybe we we
definitely got to pay back. Everybody's working and it's essential.
But the furload, well why do we have to pay
them to stay at home? But you son the law?
But is there anything we can do about it? So
that's what I mean literally serious, two separate things.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Speaking of serious.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
National Guard. Yeah, they're going into cities and they're gonna
do stuff. Maybe kind of sort of not really. Let's
start with Portland.
Speaker 8 (42:12):
Portland right now is in a major holding action because
with a federal judge I essentially issued an emergency order
preventing the activity of the two hundred California National Guardsmen
that had arrived there. In Oregon, an additional two hundred
Oregon National Guardsmen had been in training now for about
a week or so before they were called in. Both
(42:33):
of those actions are now on hold, and we're going
to see a federal court hearing on Thursday, and we'll
see whether what an appeals court decides on that.
Speaker 2 (42:43):
No, it should be that no, zero Zilt's not a
you don't get to do this. This is not a insurrection.
This is none of the things.
Speaker 4 (42:52):
And you know what it is.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
It's trolling. Trump is he's the troller in chief. As
much as anything else, this is all about trolling. He
is trolling these blue cities, blue states as much as
he possibly can to reaffirm to everybody, especially voters, Hey
(43:17):
they suck at crime and fighting it. Hey they don't
care about you. We're the only ones who do. And
we're going to come in and fight the crime because
the people that are there, they're not doing it. Oh yeah,
(43:40):
but they're not there to fight crime. They're not going
out in the streets to fight crime. They're not doing
any of those things, at least not yet. Is it
possible with Trump? He may try it as of now.
And remember DC, people say, what about DC's federal These
are different. It's a federal jurisdiction. These are states. They
(44:01):
have their rights.
Speaker 20 (44:01):
Speaking of states, Fritzkert, we've seen that Texas National Guard
has arrived.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
They are not on the streets of Chicago.
Speaker 20 (44:10):
Again, I'm not getting any information directly from the government
or from the National Guard.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
They've been federalized. He also told Greg Abbott to go
to hell when you wouldn't call back the National Guard.
Mister governor, what do you think of that?
Speaker 21 (44:29):
Both the mayor and the government of Illinois need to
own up to the fact that they are not doing
their jobs to maintain the safety and security of federal
officials who are required to enforce federal law in their
city and in their state because they're refusing to do that.
Texas is using just a small part of our National Guard.
(44:49):
Know this, we still have thousands of National Guard on
the border. As you and I are talking right now.
But what we sent to Illinois our guard who are
there already in Illinois, who are part of the elite
team of a tactical force that I have utilized in
the state of Texas to provide backup support for the
Texas Department of Public Safety.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
So I don't think he's going to go to hell.
And he says, I see you go to Hell, Pritzker,
and I raise you a whole bunch of National Guards
and women.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
What does it mean?
Speaker 2 (45:23):
Nothing? Are they going to be on the streets, No idea.
I doubt it. They're going to probably be at the
ice facility. And that's about it.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
That's I mean.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
I don't think they're going to be enforcing any laws
because the in Portland, and I hear from a lot
of people in Portland who say, Hey, Chad, what about
you know this this? And it has nothing to do
with the guy that's you know, in the corner doing
drugs or the people who are robbing everybody blind in
certain areas and breaking into the thing. Has nothing to
do with the homeless or any of that stuff. This
(45:57):
is all to do with the ice facility in Portland,
and same thing in Chicago and the ice rays it
has to do with any area that may be federalized
as a facility that they're going to protect. Mostly, what
it really has to do with is getting lots of videos,
(46:18):
getting lots of pictures, make it to seem like it's
a Michael Bay movie, and trolling the left. That's mostly
what this is. Welcome to the world of modern politics, baby,
Although it depends because this girl here will call her
joy Bear, horror bear, Georgia bear bear, is it be
(46:43):
Haar or bear, that doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (46:45):
It's on the view.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
And she thinks the reason that the National Guard is
out there is something very nefarious.
Speaker 18 (46:53):
There is crime in American cities, but the way to
deal with it is get the funding that you need
for police, get the training that you need, and work
with local efficial This is.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
A pretext to stop the next election, That's what I'm
thinking of.
Speaker 19 (47:05):
I would say it might also be a distraction from
the hearing that's going on right now about the Epstein filight.
Speaker 10 (47:10):
Some things have come up.
Speaker 13 (47:12):
And ag Pam Bondi with answer dodging questions.
Speaker 10 (47:16):
And attacking that.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
Yeah, she was dodging questions yesterday and attacking we'll touch
on that in a little bit on a lot of
stuff that she was asked yesterday. But it's not that
we're gonna all sit back and say, hey, Trump, you
can do whatever you want because we love you and
we will follow you to the cults.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
And that's such crap. Left.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
You have to stop thinking about everybody who voted for Trump,
many people who maybe weren't thrilled by voting for Trump,
but voted for Trump because the alternative was so bad
that they would somehow be okay with Trump deciding to
cancel all elections and deem himself king.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
Stop with that nuts sense.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
Oh my lord, three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty
four to twenty three at Chad Benson shows your acts,

You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 4 (49:54):
It's White Woman Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Normally we have our friend Kylie here, but I have
to play this for you because it is a amazing
and if you are a part of this culture, shame
on you.
Speaker 4 (50:05):
Also shame on my wife.
Speaker 12 (50:07):
Listen.
Speaker 10 (50:07):
I'm just going to call it like I see it.
Speaker 11 (50:09):
If you are someone who insists on backing into a
parking spot, you are slightly toxic.
Speaker 10 (50:13):
There is a direct correlation, especially with men.
Speaker 11 (50:16):
If you are constantly backing in and that's like your
go to, you exist on the scale of masculinity.
Speaker 10 (50:22):
That's like really close to not being the positive side,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
No, I have no idea what you mean. I didn't
know backing in was that big of a deal. I
my wife, she loves to.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Back the car. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
I just pull in. It doesn't matter to me, and
I don't even really go anywhere, so that's the beauty
of that as well.
Speaker 4 (50:44):
But I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
But I know this. It does drive me crazy that
people will do that in a busy parking lot where
they want to back in. That drives me crazy. But
I didn't know it was a man thing. I just
thought it was, you know, a thing some people do
sometimes though, I'm not gonna lie. I will pull further out,
(51:09):
you know, drive around, and I'll pull through parking space
into another parking space, right, so you go through, you
know the one, and so that way I can just
get in the car and go. But I'm also way
out there, and I'm not taking up anybody's time. Okay,
that's what I'm saying. I'm not taking up anybody's Damn Uvaldi.
You guys, remember that we're getting close to a trial.
Speaker 22 (51:33):
One time Euvaldi school officer Adrian Gonzalez is charged with
twenty nine counts of abandoning and endangering a child after
the mass shooting that killed nineteen students and two teachers
at rob Elementary. His trial is to start on January
fifth of next year. Judge Sid Harrel has agreed to
move the proceedings to Corpus Christy, two hundred miles from Uvaldi,
to ensure that an impartial jury can be seated. Understand
(51:55):
why they do that? That being said, that'd be tough.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
Because if you've heard then you know, seventy seven minutes,
you guys did nothing, and you got Chief Aredondo who
he faces what ten counts of child endangerment and abandonment
on behalf of the injured and surviving children from classroom one, twelve, three, two, three, five, three, eight,
(52:22):
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show. Is
your ex and your instant right here on the Chad
Benson Show. Yes, they got to go in front of
a jury. They're innocent until proven guilty. I'm not on
the jury. So you guys are the worst of the worst.
Speaker 4 (52:38):
You failed.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
Does it mean they're guilty? In my mind? Guilty af
But we live in a country where you get to
be judged by a jury of your peers. Let me
know what you think. Speaking of trials, Komi, who they're
going after former FBI director. There's some news about somebody
who who may testify against him for him.
Speaker 4 (53:03):
What depends on how you look at.
Speaker 23 (53:05):
It, sources TELEBC News. A man at the center of
the case against James Comy has given information to investigators
that would prove problematic to the prosecution in court. Those
sources say Columbia law professor and former FBI consultant Dan
Richmond has told investigators that Comy instructed him not to
engage with the press on at least two occasions and
never authorized him to provide information before the twenty sixteen election.
(53:28):
These are details that drove career prosecutors to recommend that
Comy not be charged, a call rejected last month by
the new acting US Attorney, Lindsay Halligan.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
And that was one of the things yesterday with Bondie.
Speaker 4 (53:39):
Pam Bondie not very good.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
She was dass point blank. Hey, you know remember when
he truths last tweeted stuff out that says, go get
these people, and then you did what I have heard,
and I have my sources and they're pretty good. They
have said that she was reluctant. She was reluctant. She
did not think that this was going to stick. So
just because they've indicted him doesn't mean it's going to
(54:07):
get to court. But we'll see. If you're missing the show,
shame on you grab the podcast. One Hit Wonder Wednesday
coming up, and it's got a very interesting connection with
our scary movie of the Day Chad.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
Benson, Joe then Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 4 (54:43):
It's Wednesday, and as you know, we do White Woman Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (54:46):
This is where our girl Kylie, who we play all
the time, who we love on the show and we
appreciate her openness and honesty when it comes to her progressiveness.
Speaker 4 (54:58):
This is the portion of the program where she comes
and she.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
Tells you and I and anybody who is not progressive
how bad we are. And this is where you and
I sit back and we do the work. We're doing
the work.
Speaker 10 (55:13):
Hi, I'm Kyline.
Speaker 11 (55:13):
Here are four types of conservative propaganda marketing towards women.
A lot of people talk about the alt right pipeline
for men, but it can be just as dangerous for women.
Speaker 10 (55:21):
Number one clean girl aesthetic.
Speaker 11 (55:23):
There is nothing inherently clean or dirty about dressing in
certain ways.
Speaker 10 (55:27):
It's normal to have acne in.
Speaker 11 (55:28):
Your twenties, to go out and be fairal and meet people.
You aren't better than other women because you stay home.
If you want to stay home, do it. Number two
Naras Smith.
Speaker 7 (55:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (55:38):
While it's cute to see how she cooks for her
children and all the homemade stuff she makes, it ultimately
is tradwife content and Nara Smith is not a trad wife.
She probably makes millions of dollars a year from her content.
She is employed in addition to being a wife and
a mother, So don't let that fool you. Number three
holistic health and wellness. No, you can't heal measles with
chicken soup.
Speaker 10 (55:58):
You need vaccines.
Speaker 11 (56:00):
I have some videos often seem harmless but quickly lead
into anti vax content, and that is very dangerous for everybody.
Speaker 10 (56:05):
Number four high value women content.
Speaker 11 (56:07):
To say high value often means that you're saying that
some women are worth more inherently than others, which just
isn't true, because all women are beautiful and amazing.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
You're all beautiful and amazing, but not all of you, some,
not everybody. I think we know that beauty's in the
eye of the beholder. As far as the measles, I'm
gonna say this, you have a ninety nine percent chance
of survival if you didn't get vaccinated. That being said,
I'm not a plague enthusiast. Get vaccinated. Don't be a dumbass. Okay,
(56:39):
it's that simple. It is geez I swear people white
women Wednesday, we love her. I'm trying to get her
on the show. By the way, I'm trying to get
her on the show.
Speaker 4 (56:49):
Do my best. I would like to get her on
the show. We need a progressive who we can have
some fun with.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
And you know, I go on there, and oddly enough,
I will find myself because I always go to the comments,
because the comments are really where America comes alive. But
I'll go to the comments, and I find myself defending her.
Even though I don't believe ninety nine percent of the
stuff she says, I do find myself defending her right
to say it because there's so many people out there.
(57:18):
First of all, so many people out there just full
of hate. And secondly, there are people that they want
to shut her up. No good, God, stop it with that.
Speaking of shutting people up, Scotus. Yesterday, this was the
conversion therapy hearing. So conversion therapy is they used to
(57:42):
have camps for this, I think, not concentration camps, conversion
camps where you'd send them off and like, Jimmy's gay,
make him not gay? And Jimmy, do you like ladies
Jimmy And he's like no, and he's like, well, you're
gonna after this, So you know, that was and the
therapy of going to therapy, and he's like, you like women,
you you like men? You like women?
Speaker 4 (57:59):
You like to me, I just it's a bunch of crap.
Speaker 24 (58:03):
It is.
Speaker 4 (58:03):
It's a bunch of crap.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
But this was in front of the courts Colorado case.
Speaker 25 (58:09):
The justices really wrestled with whether these types of laws
that restrict what counselors can or cannot say when treating
young people who are struggling with their gender identity or
sexual orientation need to be held to a very high
standard because it involves free speech. And today I would
say a majority of the Conservatives did appear inclined to
(58:30):
hold this.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Law and others like it to that very high bar.
Speaker 25 (58:34):
Not entirely clear how they would come out, but they
sure were skeptical of any of these restrictions put on
counselors and how they talk to young people about sex
and sexual orientation.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Which I don't think conversion therapy works.
Speaker 2 (58:52):
I don't. That being said, when it comes to kids,
and I go back to this and when it comes
to kids. You know, my uncle and I talked about
this several months ago. He was going to do the
surgery for weight loss. He had to go through months
and months of like therapy and this, that and the
(59:14):
other and all these kind of things. If you if
you want to change your gender is basically just here
you go. It's crazy, it is. And so again I
don't buy into if you know you're gonna you're gonna
talk the gay out of somebody, that makes sense. But
(59:38):
I do think, especially with kids who are going through
all kinds of things, that having a therapist there to
have a conversation with is very important and you shouldn't
limit that conversation. And that's where the free speech comes in.
(01:00:00):
And at the same time also tell them they're dealing
with things that every adolescent through the history of time
has dealt with and that maybe making certain rash decisions
isn't great, but having that conversation should absolutely be allowed.
Speaker 25 (01:00:20):
Kayleie Chiles has been a licensed therapist in Colorado Springs
for nearly ten years, providing what she calls faith informed counseling.
Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Do you practice conversion therapy?
Speaker 26 (01:00:31):
What I do is I welcome people into the office
and they come in here and we have a conversation.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
I that conversation, which is exactly what you should do.
Have a conversation. That's what you're doing. Let's have a
conversation about what it is that you're going through. Why
do you feel that way? Why is it that you think,
all of a sudden you're a dude or you're a girl.
When did was this something that was going on for
(01:00:59):
years and years or is this something that just came
upon you when you were at school and you were
struggling and your counselor at school said, you know what
you would make you feel better is if you were
a dude.
Speaker 25 (01:01:10):
She's afraid of running a foul of the law, which
comes with a five thousand dollars fine and potential loss
of license. But the state's Attorney General, Phil Wiser, who's
defending this law, insists that it is a legitimate medical
regulation that while this particular form of treatment happens to
use words, it's a treatment nonetheless and therefore can be
(01:01:30):
regulated by the state just like any other medical practice.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
And that's their argument is you're prescribing the words as
you would, you know, almost like you say, a treatment
for something, and because of that.
Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
It needs to be regulated.
Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Again, it's dealing with kids, and I go back to
this over and over again, especially on the left, because
the left is the one that does this. This is
why you lose so many things.
Speaker 5 (01:02:02):
You're so.
Speaker 4 (01:02:06):
Led around by people who are.
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
Niche activists who end up crafting bad ideas, getting laws passed,
and pissing parents off, who you forget are also voters.
I met Aaron Lee.
Speaker 25 (01:02:25):
She's the mother of three, lives in Colorado, just outside
Fort Collins, and one day her daughter came home and said,
you know, mom, I think I'm a boy. Now I'm
going to go by Toby. And she was very frustrated
that she couldn't get any straightforward help from a therapist
to help Chloe sort of work out these issues, because,
in her view, Colorado's law prevented a therapist from having
(01:02:50):
an open conversation with Chloe about the possibility of just
embracing her gender identity with her biological sex.
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Again. The parents, the parents, And like I said, I
look at this in two different ways. Children in particular,
who may or may not be gay but may be
confused about their sexuality is different than the gender thing
(01:03:20):
and what is being pushed.
Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
And these are two separate things. So we'll see how
it plays out.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
It feels like it's going to be a win if
you're on the side where the therapist should have the
opportunity to talk about this. At the same time, it's
not as clear because remember when you're listening to the
Supreme Court, how they asked the questions will lead you
ninety nine percent of the time of where the case
is going to go win or loss. And while I
(01:03:51):
think it's going to be closer to five to four
for you know, the people who brought the suit against
the state and this ridiculous. You know, you shouldn't be
able to And again, I think the conversion side of stuff,
and that's what they make it out to be.
Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
Because the negative.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Connotation is your kids gay and you're trying to make
your kid not gay, and they're going to talk the
gay out of you. That's again I find that ridiculous,
just not gonna happen. But when it comes to the
trans issue and the gender identity, I absolutely think that
this is going to be a win for the people
(01:04:30):
who think, no, they should be able to have these conversations.
Let me know what you think. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four or twenty three at Chad Benson's show, is
Your ex Your insta YouTube and more. You know, we're
talking last hour, and I've got several of you've chimed
in about Marjorie Taylor Green coming out and essentially opposing
what the Republicans are doing on the shutdown, in particular,
(01:04:52):
what is going on with healthcare, And like I said,
several of you have weighed in on this, and you're
already saying that you're feeling the crunch and to think
that the average payment to your healthcare provider now could
double or triple is worrying you. And that you could
(01:05:14):
see even through your healthcare at work, a twenty percent jump.
You're going to feel that and the Republicans aren't seeing that.
And Marjorie Taylor Green is I've been saying, you're playing
with fire. But you wanted to have those big giant
tax cuts. Well you got them, and you made those
permanent for the one percent, not the other tax cuts.
Speaker 4 (01:05:39):
For everybody else.
Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Keep doing what you're doing because you think it's a win.
You're only winning because the other side is so bad.
I'm looking at you left three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three Atchad Benson Show, is your
ext your Insta YouTube and more coming up to One
Hit Wonder Wednesday. There is something very interesting about our
(01:06:05):
scary movie number eighteen of the scariest movies of all
time and the One Hit Wonder that's about to come up.
There is a connection we will discuss. But first, prize picks,
prize picks, Baby price picks. Easy. Right, So you're like me,
you follow sports, you know, and you think to yourself,
(01:06:26):
tell me more about prize picks, because I do know sports.
This is not about teams. You're picking players in the
projected stats. You're setting up lineup two or more players
up to six. You can win up to two thousand
times your money.
Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
It is incredible.
Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
And when you set the lineup, it's more or less
based on players' projected stats. Will Jalen Hurts throw for
more than a half a touchdown? Oh? Will Jackson Dart
throw for more than a half a touchdown? More or less?
You choose, and then your lineup set and away you go.
And now when you play your first five dollars lineup,
(01:06:59):
you're gonna get fifty dollars immediately in your account. Win
or lose for more lineups, it's that simple. I'm telling
you guys right now, it's incredible, So what are you
waiting for? Download the prize pick app right now. Make
sure you use my code Chad. Use that knowledge you
have that run right there and start winning today. Download
(01:07:21):
the app. Use Cochad to get fifty dollars in lineups
after you play a first five dollars lineup prize picks.
It's good to be right coming up. One Hit Wonder Wednesday.
This guy sang a song about a drink that made
him pretty damn famous. Also got him a role in
the movie that we talked about earlier. And this song
that he sings was on the charts for seventeen weeks
(01:07:43):
and it's kind of the goodbye to a certain era.
Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
We do One Hit Wonder Wednesday, straight Ahead, Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 27 (01:08:00):
Me Too, hashtag immigration Reforms, hashtag help.
Speaker 14 (01:08:03):
I'm trapped in a hashtag factory and I can't get
out the Chat Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
It is that time of the week where we take
a deep breath, have a little fun with some music.
Call it one Hit Wonder Wednesday. This is where we
go deep inside a hit song from an artist, a band,
a group who knows who it is who has one
hit and do anything other than that they had the
one singular hit, and sometimes they stick around. Their hit
(01:08:34):
sticks around, but they never have anything else. Sometimes everything disappears.
Sometimes the song sticks around. You don't know who sang it.
And that's one of these songs today, even though the
dude stuck around for a long time.
Speaker 4 (01:08:47):
Are you ready for it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Let's have some fun. Oh yeah, now it's time for
another edition of One Hit Wonder Wednesday. You may not
remember the name of the band, but you definitely.
Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
Know the song.
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
Remember this, Bruiser, This is one Hit Wonder Wednesday. All right,
One Hit Wonder Wednesday is very cool today. The song
I loved. I didn't know who sang it when I
was younger, partly because it was in a movie Meatballs.
Remember Meatballs, Bill Murray camp movie.
Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
I love that movie.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
But the guy who sang the song, he was kind
of semi famous already based on a commercial or several
about a soda salut.
Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
That's right. His name is David Naughton.
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
He was a classically trained actor and he was famous
for the Doctor Pepper songs. But he got hired for
a show that didn't last very long. That show was
called Making It. The theme song was written by Stephen
Lawrence and Norman Gimble, who wrote Killing Me Softly with
his song. The song just was awesome, but it was
(01:10:27):
the late seventies into the early eighties, and it was
kind of a goodbye, a time capsule, as some would say,
to the end of disco. David Naughton, by the way,
two years after this song came out, happened to run
into John Landis who said, I'd like you to audition
(01:10:48):
for this movie.
Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
Here's the screenplay.
Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
That movie is our number eighteen scary movie, which is
American Werewolf in London. He got the lead role. But
it was this song that made up I'm a superstar
disco machine. You're one hit Water Wednesday Baby, making it
David not making it an amazing song, and like I say,
(01:11:45):
it was the end of the disco era. It was
a feel good disco song that he rode for seventeen
weeks into the charts. Never did anything else song wise,
but it got into meatballs and again later on, as
we told you, he got into movies and he came
an iconic star in the horror movie world playing the
lead in American Werewolf in London. David Dawton with making
(01:12:10):
It Your one Hit Wonder Wednesday right here on the
Chad Benson Show. Coming up, our number three of the program,
A lot to get to. We're gonna do our number
eighteen Scariest Movie of All Times and Chad's Horror Countdown.
We're gonna do that. We've got what's trending, some stuff
(01:12:31):
about Mark Sanchez, the former NFL player turned color analyst
for Fox who's had some issues. We're gonna discuss the
right and the left and the issues that they have,
but how the right is missing an opportunity here when
it comes to healthcare that I think would cost them
(01:12:51):
that they don't figure out what to do.
Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
Plus I've got a bunch of.
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Other stuff to get to as well. If you're missing
the show, Shane One, you grab the podcast. Our number
three of the showad this is the Chat Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
This is the Chad Benson Show, the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
In the big battle that is going on when it
comes to the government shut down, I will tell you this,
Republicans are I think Jack in the pooch, screwing up,
swinging in and missing whatever you want to call it.
When they talk about if we pass this, legals are
(01:13:56):
going to have healthcare, well, Chad, haven't some of them?
Yeah in some states where you know, like medical and
stuff like that in California, Yes, And have some federal
funds been used for stuff? Yeah, let's not pretend they
have it. That's being said, It's still small. The bigger
issue for the Republicans.
Speaker 4 (01:14:18):
Is going to be subsidies but shed.
Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
But if we fight this, then that way the illegals
they won't be you know, they won't be taken care of.
There's a law out there, there was past in eighty
six m to Lla went the Hell's ms LA Emergency
Medical Treatment and Active labor. What does that mean? No
matter who you are, no matter what your status is,
emergency rooms cannot turn you away. It doesn't guarantee healthcare
(01:14:49):
like if you you know, if you got the sniffles
that they're going to see you. What it does guarantee
in emergency situations you will be seen, regardles of your
status to pay or your status as a citizen. So
settle down. It's not even about this. It's about what
(01:15:14):
is coming with the cost of healthcare and the rise
that we're going to see.
Speaker 28 (01:15:24):
There is no daylight between House Republicans, Senate Republicans, President
Trump and the White House. We're united, and that's why
we're winning this fight. And that's an important one for
the American people. With regard to the subsidies, remember that
is a red hearing, it's a distraction. This is what
Chuck Schumer and the Democrats put together to try to
make the issue of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
It's not a red herring. It's a reality, like it
or not. When Obamacare came about ACA, they said, let's
do this and will force people to get on healthcare.
And so once y're on healthcare, everybody's gonna be on.
It's gonna drive the prices down, et cetera, et cetera.
And you know what, We're gonna let the insurance companies
(01:16:08):
help us craft it. Well, that went over like a
fart in the elevator. And here we are and now
those subsidies are going to go away, and guess what
prices are going to increase tremendously. Shall we take a
quick look at what tis coming? So what we did
(01:16:31):
is we put together a test case of what insurance
might cost you come in in the next couple of months. Okay,
so subsidies right now, And we picked Dallas Texas, So
family making about family four, about eighty to ninety grand
(01:16:53):
a year. Okay, eighty ninety grand a year, family of four.
So and we did two things. You had the silver
silver and then you got the gold at the premium.
So in Texas silver about four eighty nine a month
total cost before subsidies, after subsidies, the average premium paid.
(01:17:16):
Are you ready for this?
Speaker 5 (01:17:17):
This is?
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
This is net after credits fifty seven a month. Okay.
That's across all enrollees now and some may be a
little bit higher. Again, these are just averages. So if
you're going to text me go, well I pay. This
is if you're on the exchange. Okay, now, if you're
at work, this is on the exchange. Now, if you
(01:17:40):
do the premium right, the gold version, that'd be about
fifteen hundred a month for a basic plan. After subsidies,
it'd probably right around eight hundred a month. So that's
a family of four. So you're paying eight hundred or
you're paying you know, one hundred. Any what you're going
(01:18:00):
to get. Some people will say, well, high deductible. We're
not sick that some people they want the whole thing.
But remember these are with subsidies. So subsidies gone. Don't
worry though, the tax breaks are still there for the
one percent. Okay, so the subsidies are gone. And again
(01:18:23):
family Dallas, four folk in the family for peoples, A
couple children, mom and dad, Mom and mom, dad, dat,
whatever you want to do. You know what, we're not
haters here currently the Silver Plan if you will, you
are paying anywhere between like you know, one hundred bucks
(01:18:45):
to a couple hundred bucks, you're now going to pay
without subsidies, about a grand a month, maybe a little lower,
maybe a little higher, depending on you know who your program.
Speaker 4 (01:18:59):
And again this is through the exchange. So that's what
you're looking at.
Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
So if you're not in a house that's free and
clear and own everything, and you've got payments for other
stuff and credit cards, it could get a little expensive.
Now let's go to the premium slash Gold. You're paying
eight hundred on average a month. You're now going to
(01:19:26):
see it rise.
Speaker 4 (01:19:28):
To write around.
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
Sixteen hundred to eighteen hundred a month. That's for the
big Gold package. So they got everything and you got
a load deductible and all the stuff for a family
for in Dallas Fort Worth area.
Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
Making between eighty and ninety grade a year.
Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
You know what that does? That makes people think you
don't care about us. I'm telling you Republicans, pay attention.
It's not a red herring. It's reality. If you allow
the subsidies to go away, you will see millions of
(01:20:09):
Americans see a massive jump in costs to their healthcare,
people having to make serious decisions about whether or not
they're going to keep their car.
Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
Or just ensure their kids. This is real. This is
not a red herring. This is absolutely real.
Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
And when people sit back and say, well, hold on
a second, the one percent is getting a tax cut, well,
everybody got a tax sit yes, but there's this permanent
and now we have to pay a lot more for
health care. Oh now you're asking yourself self, what about.
Speaker 4 (01:20:51):
Oh, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
If you're in a company that's got healthcare, could those
go up about twenty plus percent on average? You'll see
a jump even in your company healthcare cost for you.
Speaker 4 (01:21:07):
So, yes, this is not a red herring. This is reality.
Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
And more and more people are going on the right
are starting to go well, hold on a second, including
Marjorie Taylor Green, who I've had some issues with as
you guys have known in the past, but she ain't
wrong here.
Speaker 13 (01:21:25):
Well, if you follow my post. Health insurance is something
I've been talking about for quite a while. Insurance across
the board. It's crushing people. The cost of living is
gone so high in the past four and a half
years and it hasn't come down. Rent is unaffordable, you
can't buy a home. A lot of people don't even
know if they'll ever be able to buy a home.
(01:21:46):
But insurance premiums are unbelievably high.
Speaker 10 (01:21:49):
Up into the road, yep, and they're looking to go up.
Speaker 13 (01:21:52):
Not only people on the ACA, but people that have
private plans as well. This is the number one issue
I hear about in my district work for Georgia's fourteenth district,
and so I'm willing to take off team Jerseys, so
to speak, right now and call it literally like it is.
This is a crisis in America and I really want
(01:22:12):
to work on it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Affordability is the number one thing when I talk to
people every single day, Affordability. Affordability, Affordability. You can run
around and talk about how amazing the economy is, how
great everything is, how awesome it is, and we've never
been in a better time, et cetera, et cetera. Affordability
is the number one thing. And even people I know
who have voted for Trump have said, I hear him
(01:22:36):
talk about how inflation has gone and blah blah blah blah, but.
Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
I don't see it at the grocery store.
Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
We are now going to feel it, not just at
the grocery store, but potentially with your healthcare. Let me
know what you think. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is
your ex, your Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. We love
hearing from each and every single one of you right
here on the Chad ben in the show. Meanwhile, speaking
(01:23:01):
of the government, you guys do know that they're actually
not working. Let's talk about the shutdown, not what's causing
it in the battle there, but just the shutdown itself.
Now it's time for ninety seconds of government shutdown talk.
I told you guys, with the shutdown talk, the thing
that's going to get anybody to come back is who's
(01:23:25):
going to get blamed for it? Right now, it's kind
of a tie. Could it be moving in a direction
where the Republicans pay the price? Yeah, it could easily
switch though, over to the Democrats. So over the next
couple of days we'll start to see it more and
more front and center in the news. And the reason
is because now it's affecting people who don't work for
(01:23:48):
the government, not just who's the blame, but it's now
affecting people's lives. With air traffic control, you're seeing limited
amounts of flights, cancels, delays, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, Burbank had
to just basically shut down one of their towers. So
(01:24:12):
it's now starting to affect people that aren't part of
the government apparatus and machine or working with the government.

Speaker 4 (01:26:36):
What's trending James.
Speaker 2 (01:26:46):
Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Sereno.
Speaker 5 (01:26:57):
What trap?
Speaker 4 (01:27:02):
That's fine?
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
I was trending.
Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
In the world of the Internet. Start with Google. Delly parton.
Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
So yesterday her sister sent out like a tweet or
something says, hey, we need prayers for Dolly. People started
to panic, as you do, and she came out clarified.
She's like, because she canceled her residency that she was
getting ready to do. And you know, she's had a
tough year, her husband dying and all, and her sister
(01:27:34):
just said, I didn't mean to scare anybody. It's not
imminent death or anything. Major League Baseball's playoffs, Joe Flacco traded.
Speaker 15 (01:27:44):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
Right? Going from where is the Browns A? You're you
gonna go over now? To Cincinnati? Not even leaving in Ohio.
Pam Bondi yesterday five hour hearing. She's awful. That's all
I have to say about that. NHL kicked off yesterday
Lebron's announcement, which was not the announcmer, but they tried
to make it seem like it was the decision. Part
two from that when he was taking his talents to South.
Speaker 4 (01:28:07):
Beach, it was not gold gold up in a way.
Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
Lee Greenwood, along with everybody else on the right, chiming
in about bad Bunny performing at the super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:28:20):
It's just so stupid.
Speaker 10 (01:28:22):
It is.
Speaker 4 (01:28:22):
Get over. What do you want to have? Lee Greenwood
roll out there. I'm proud to be an American.
Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
No, I like the song, but no, I don't think
we need that, okay, and I don't want to have
time show, So do whatever you want to do. Pam
Bondi doesn't want try anything on Yahoo. Yeahhooooooooo, Dolly pardon
Pittsburgh Steelers Taylor's swift Katie Porter, she got into a
(01:28:48):
contentious interview over well several things, but she got into
this argument and just basically told press, I'm not gonna
do anything about this. So, by if you missed the show,
shame on. You got the podcast radio and the Chad
Benson Show. So she was doing a CBS interview on
(01:29:11):
Trump voters and she didn't like it.
Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
She's done.
Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
I'm out of here, Supreme Court. J Jones, Jay Jones, Yeah,
that's not going anywhere.
Speaker 18 (01:29:20):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
One of the other things that was trending and has
been for the last couple of days is Mark Sanchez,
former quarterback Fox NFL. I guess he's color analyst, not
the play.
Speaker 4 (01:29:33):
By play guy.
Speaker 2 (01:29:35):
USC stud and now alleged felin man. They keep up
in the charges and they keep looking.
Speaker 4 (01:29:41):
Can they do more? Yes, alcohol was involved.
Speaker 29 (01:29:44):
The lead prosecutor, Ryan Mehers, telling me video evidence determine Sanchez,
who's now charged with a felony, was the clear aggressor
when he attacked sixty nine year old Perry Toll over Parking. Toll,
a delivery truck driver, was in the middle of his
shift when Sanchez, a pro.
Speaker 26 (01:30:00):
The confrontation doesn't necessarily make a ton of sense. Aggravated
battery is even a more serious charge or crime that
could potentially be a play.
Speaker 29 (01:30:07):
Here, Toll telling police he thought Sanchez was quote trying
to kill me.
Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
Yeah, it was bizarre. He also said that the whole
thing seemed to be over a parking space.
Speaker 26 (01:30:16):
The allegations are that we're arguing over where a truck
should park or not, and at best that should be
a disagreement between two people. We shouldn't be taking two
people to the hospital.
Speaker 4 (01:30:27):
No, no, this is not going well for Mark.
Speaker 2 (01:30:30):
Every time there's something new that comes out, it doesn't
seem to help his case. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chadvented Show, that's your
extra insta YouTube and more coming up. A lot of
good stuff to get to, including the countdown of the
Scariest movies of all time number eighteen.
Speaker 24 (01:30:49):
Today Chadventa show, Fun Chat, Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
It's Wednesday and Wednesday we have funs with our girl here, Kylie.
She is a part of White Woman Wednesday. This is
where the progressives, white women and some white men who,
by the way, I want to point out before we
get into this very dangerous to all the people that
they want to help in many ways. And we'll talk
(01:31:43):
about that in a second, but first here she is
Kylie talk about how.
Speaker 11 (01:31:47):
In white social circles, when you're not racist, you get
called boring. Obviously not all white people, but a lot
of conservative people who find this type of humor funny,
like any joke that's based off of a characteristic that
you can't control, so making fun of somebody's gender, sex, ruality, race,
et cetera. And suddenly when you're like, hey, I don't
think this is funny nor creative, I'm gonna put some
of the jokes on the screen that are pretty commonly used.
Speaker 10 (01:32:09):
Then suddenly you're boring. Suddenly you don't know how to
have fun.
Speaker 11 (01:32:13):
Have you ever considered the possibility that you're just not funny,
that you're just repeating jokes that have been used for decades,
and that any joke that makes raise a punchline genuinely
is just not clever enough to warrant a laugh. And
whenever you stand up to these people in these social circles,
they will call you a liberal, boring or two woke.
(01:32:34):
I grew up around a lot of people like this
because a lot of my friend's parents were like this,
There are a lot more conservative people in California than
most people realize.
Speaker 10 (01:32:43):
But no, you're a racist.
Speaker 11 (01:32:44):
Joke isn't funny, And yes, I have a sense of
humor that's just not funny.
Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
Yeah, you know, maybe you do, maybe you don't. You
never really seem to show it. We need a little
bit more of that. But you know what, God bless
you for being out there and telling us all the
things that are wrong. And by the way, when I
said earlier that how dangerous the white liberal is, that's
according to Malcolm X.
Speaker 4 (01:33:06):
There's some quotes from Malcolm X about the white liberal.
Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
Nineteen sixty three, Malcolm said, the white liberal is the
worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the
black man. The white liberal's only interest in the black
man is to use him as a political football to
get power for themselves. Here's another quote from Malcolm X quote,
(01:33:31):
the white liberal is more deceitful than the conservative. The
white liberal is the one who has perfected the art
of posing as a friend and benefactor of the black
And it is the white liberal who has been most
dangerous in perpetuating the blacks dependence on the white man.
Oh so when the progressives tell you everything about stuff
(01:33:57):
that they're doing to save the world, a lot of
times it's.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
Great talk, it's not a lot of action.
Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
And the action they do do is knockover you know,
it's knockover statues and say I'm doing good.
Speaker 4 (01:34:12):
Right, I've fixed the problem.
Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
Okay, you haven't. That's a lot of people, by the way,
right and left. The rights version of it now is
they're coming to save everybody because of the insurrection and
all the stuff that is happening in Portland and in
Chicago and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 14 (01:34:30):
You know what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
I was even arguing with my uncle last night about it,
because there's this sense of, well, the government has to
do this for the people, and I'm like, eh, they
don't have to do it for the people. There's no
reason for it outside of embarrassing the states and cities
that quite frankly should be embarrassed of the crime and
the insanity that goes on there. But this is completely
(01:34:53):
ridiculous when it comes to Portland in Chicago. This has
nothing to do with protecting this or doing that. This
has to do with the optics of the moment to
make it look like we are here and we're not
going to take any crap, and they're doing a hell
of a job. Look, the Democrats, you guys have failed
miserably at the crime thing.
Speaker 4 (01:35:17):
You've failed.
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
Let's not even pretend, let's not pretend for a second
that you've done a really good job at fighting crime.
Speaker 4 (01:35:27):
You haven't.
Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
And crime is run rampant in certain areas of the city,
and your go to is, well, we're not going to
prosecute our way out of it. Well how about maybe
going Maybe it's not whether or not you prosecute the
way out of that situation and actually prosecute people so
the people that live in those neighborhoods don't have to
(01:35:51):
feel like they have to board up their doors at
night just in case, or sleep on the floor out
of fear of flying bullets. There's that as well, So
everybody they're all LARPing around doing something. We're saving this
from that, We're saving you from this. Americans don't need saving.
(01:36:14):
What they need is a government that works for them,
does the best they possibly can understanding, and that goes
to us voter, that you're not going to get everything
you want and they're not genies, and that you make
the effort to do the best to get things past
that are going to help everybody as best that they can.
(01:36:35):
It's not going to be perfect. That's what we should
demand from our leaders. But instead they larp around saying
we're coming to save it's an insurrection, or we're going
to save you because you can't do it for yourself
because you have your different color. And we're here because
people were mean to you. Ah God, that should infuriate
all of us. We move from there to somebody who
(01:36:57):
infuriates me, pambody. I've told you guys this. I had
a high helps for Pam Bondi. My hopes now have
been dashed. Yesterday there was a hearing. She had apparently
a lot of notes written down on one liners and
singers she could fire back at people.
Speaker 10 (01:37:13):
It was extremely hostiled.
Speaker 9 (01:37:15):
I think that we heard Attorney General Bondi immediately in
her first exchange with Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, get
asked about what conversations that she may have had between
the White House about deploying the National Guard to democratic
run cities, and Bondie took direct aim at Senator Durbin.
You could see in the hearing that even Senator Durbin,
who was expecting a fight from Attorney General Bondi, was
(01:37:37):
taken aback by the tone of her comments, and that
really reverberated throughout the hearing.
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Yeah, it was kind of harsh.
Speaker 4 (01:37:45):
She's like, so, what do you think of this?
Speaker 2 (01:37:48):
Did you hear anything?
Speaker 4 (01:37:49):
Do you have any input on any of these?
Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
You know, this is stuff that you asked because it's
not not really for the peoples, for the cameras and
for your your TikTok and your Insta and your Twitter
so you can raise money and say, look, how's strong
aim that being said, she was like, and you can't
please your wife.
Speaker 4 (01:38:04):
It's like something just so over the top.
Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
And she had like notes, like she went to Jeff Ross,
who does all of the roasting, and said, give me
some notes so I can fire things back at people.
Speaker 9 (01:38:15):
Attorney General Bondi came prepped with a binder, and in
that binder it appears that she had pre prepared attacks
for every Democrat senator on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where
she leveled personal attacks against Senator Richard Blumenthal about comments
that he had made about his military service that are
under questioned. She had attacks ready for other Democrats where
(01:38:39):
undocumented immigrants were killed in their state.
Speaker 4 (01:38:43):
Just frustrating, doesn't get us anywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
You and I both know that.
Speaker 4 (01:38:48):
I was interested though, in.
Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
The Epstein stuff, which both sides raised some questions, and
both sides were not satisfied with said answer.
Speaker 9 (01:39:03):
She basically just said that the current statements that they've
been putting out saying that they've since determined that there's
no more reason to release any files and that there's
no evidence that exists that would implicate potential co conspirators
of Epstein. And I think that that was kind of
surprising me that even Republican senators we heard pressing her
(01:39:23):
about the comments from Commerce Secretary Howard Luttnik just last
week saying that he believed that Epstein was the biggest
blackmailer ever, and just the constant contradictory comments that we've
heard out of this administration related to those files.
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
Yeah, it was not a great look for honest with
ourselves with the Epstein stuff. And they still have a
Democrat that has not been seated, has not been sworn in,
Mike Johnson has not done that, and because of that,
they can't get to the two hundred and eighteen that
it would take to bring it to a floor vote,
which would then get the files released. And they're doing
(01:39:59):
that for reason. And you know, last week we talked
about Howard Luttnik said on a podcast. Yeah, this guy's
the biggest blackmailer ever. He was gross, he was all
of the things, and you know he was black Well
who was he black mail Why was he blackmailing? How
was he blackmailing? Oh yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (01:40:20):
Settle down there, settle down.
Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
I don't do I think we'll find out anything more
about Somebody asked me that yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:40:29):
They're like, you pay attention to this, you know, And
I'm not sure. It's a big deal. It's a big
deal if you are the people that sold everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:40:37):
That this should be paid attention to, because it is
a big deal that the powerful shouldn't get away with
stuff like this. It's a big deal if you think
that maybe parts of our government have been compromised and
because of that, they may make actual decisions based not
(01:41:00):
in what's best for America, but what's best for another
nation potentially. So those are serious things to think about.
And it's a big deal if you said you were
going to do these things because you wanted to be
the most transparent of all time, and you're anything but,
and people are calling you out for so there you go,
(01:41:23):
There you go. Meanwhile, we're from there to the Middle East?
Are we getting closer to a deal with Hamas and Israel?
Speaker 7 (01:41:33):
We right now the hostage families are feeling immense optimism, hope,
and we are very much yearning for President Trump to
continue his steadfast, tireless, passionate, committed, unwavering attempts and efforts
(01:41:54):
to bring this to a close.
Speaker 2 (01:41:57):
And there's going to be ebbs and flows, and there's
going to be bumps. We could see potentially some of
the hostages, if things go well today they're in Egypt
and over the next couple of days coming back the
living ones and the remains of the ones who have died.
Speaker 4 (01:42:18):
We could see that, hopefully by this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:42:21):
There are going to be some other issues though, that
are going to be maybe down the line a little
bit a little different. Can you remember there's twenty points
in Trump's twenty point plan.
Speaker 12 (01:42:32):
Phase one, it's supposed to envisaged a ceasefire, the release
of all forty eight hostages. That's all remaining hostages alive
and dead, twenty or so I believe to still be
alive as well as a partial withdrawal. It's phase two
where you get onto the issue of hamaster disarming that
things are going to get.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
Difficult, and that's where we may take a couple steps
forward and one step back. Stay the course, take the win.
Trump needs to be strong and I think he will
be in this god I hope. So three two, three, five, three, eight,

the greatest horror Movies of all time Number eighteen straight
ahead Chad Benson.
Speaker 27 (01:44:28):
Joe fronting with Scissor sounds great compared.
Speaker 2 (01:44:41):
To this same. As we wrap up the show today,
it's time to do our horror movie countdown.
Speaker 4 (01:44:47):
We're at number eighteen.
Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
It's the twenty greatest horror movies of all time and
this one gives you a scare, a laugh, and some love.
Speaker 4 (01:44:55):
With our one hit wonder artists as well. David Naughton.
Speaker 15 (01:45:00):
Time has come, so prepare yourself for a journey of
fear from the darkest corner of cinema, the most bone
chilling tales ever told. It's the countdown you've been waiting for.
Which movie will take the top spot? How about a
(01:45:22):
fish tail so big because the jaws open wide? Or
the story of a young innocent girl battling evil with
some help.
Speaker 16 (01:45:38):
Well, then let's introduce ourselves. I'm Damion Karas and I'm
that Devil. Where's Reagan in here with us?
Speaker 15 (01:45:47):
Or The Fright of a madman with a chainsaw? You'll
have to listen to find out.
Speaker 2 (01:46:00):
Are you ready? Number eighteen? All right? Number eighteen is
a movie that came out a while ago in the eighties.
I was a young lad, but I remember it. I
remember it. Indeed. It combined humor with horror. The director
and the writer was a man by the name of
(01:46:20):
John Landis.
Speaker 4 (01:46:22):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:46:22):
He actually wrote this American war Wolf in London when
he was twenty years old.
Speaker 4 (01:46:27):
It is an incredible movie because of a.
Speaker 2 (01:46:33):
Scene in the movie, and we'll get to that in
a second, but the humor was awesome. There was a
love story. David Notton played the star of the movie.
But the other star of the movie was a guy
you never saw. His name was Rick Baker. Rick Baker
designed the Werewolf. Rick Baker was a man who went
on to win an Academy Award based on this movie
(01:46:57):
and the way that he did stuff. And he said
with John Landis came to him, he said, look, I
want you to do a werewolf. And I wanted to
be at all fours and I want to be this big,
giant beast, but I don't want it to be cheesy
when it comes to how he transforms.
Speaker 17 (01:47:10):
I want to do a transformation in a way that
never been done before. It doesn't make sense to me
that a man changing in his body, going through this
metamorphosis would sit in a chair like Lon Chaney Junior
and be still until he finished changing, because I think
it would be painful and I want him to be
able to move, and I want to show the pain.
Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
And you know, how would you do that? And I go, oh,
I have no idea, but I would.
Speaker 4 (01:47:33):
Love to and he did.
Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
And for those two minutes on camera watching David Naughton,
who played David in the movie, transform from a guy
who had been attacked to a guy that was becoming.
Speaker 4 (01:47:45):
A werewolf and the pain was real. God, man, you
(01:48:07):
can feel that pain.
Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
It's an incredible movie, made a decent amount of money,
became a hit, but became a cultural hit. And that's
part of what we do these great countdowns is there's
a cultural aspect to it.
Speaker 4 (01:48:18):
Everybody knows the scene. Even people that have not seen
the movie know the scene.
Speaker 2 (01:48:22):
It's a scene that's iconic. And Rick Baker went on
to win the first ever Special Effects Makeup Award for
the Academy.
Speaker 4 (01:48:29):
And it changed the way we viewed werewolves much different.
Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
Cultural icon absolutely hilarity, one hundred percent frights, you bet
you and a love story.
Speaker 4 (01:48:40):
You're number eighteen on The Chad Benson Show.
