Speaker 1 (00:02):
What's going on everybody? And welcome back to another episode
of the Challenge Fanatics podcast where we're here to break
down everything Challenge related. My name is Josh Green and
you can find us on all social media platforms at
Challenge fan Pod and we are here to break down
to Challenge forty one bets some new threats Episode two.

(00:24):
You know, we did record episode one, had some computer issues.
As we're going through episode two, I'm sure we will
reference stuff from the premiere. We're pumped up, and of
course I'm here with my co host, Austin Fuegel said, Austin,
how you doing doing great?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Ready for another season?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Had fun recording last week even though we weren't able
to get it out there, so you know, hoping everything
goes as well.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
With this one.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
But yeah, really good start to the season and I
am obviously with all the trailer.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
That we've seen, I think it's we've got a good
season ahead.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
We're getting lots of like it's giving a lot of
like old school challenge, so yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, which we haven't seen the flagship forever.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Mm hmm, like uh in the opening episode zero, you
know the order of how you finished, you know you
got to go into the house. Going into the house
and picking roommates used to be such a huge thing
on the show, and now like it's hardly mentioned ever.
So it was cool to see that we find out

(01:31):
in this episode these partners are going to be rotating
every week. So it may not have been the worst
thing that last week's episode got deleted because we were
talking a lot about these partners that really aren't going
to mean much at all.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, and the Turbo staying all the politicking Garbige.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Turbo, Yeah, he's been fun so far. We'll see if
he gets to being an annoying part of the season,
but so far, I'm here for it.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
He always brings, he always brings drama, so we'll get
some good fights to Turbo eventually his things heat up.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
So right in the arena right at the start of
episode two, TJ tells us, you know, I think it's
time you all get some new partners, and we're getting this.
You know, we found out earlier that Andreine or Adrian
is the hangnail, and that the jury for this week's

(02:33):
episode is going to have to vote whether they keep
her or if she goes right into elimination without getting
to compete in the daily, but everyone's getting new partners.
Since Bananas and d won this first daily, they're the
ones that get to pick their partners first. It does

(02:55):
seem like, at least in the beginning here, they are
going to try to make this you know that rookie
guy girl pairs, so every VET guy has to be
with a girl rookie, every girl VET has to be
with a guy rookie, so on and so forth. Obviously,

(03:18):
this format is not going to be able to stick,
especially with you know who's losing eliminations and things like that.
But for the beginning, you know, if we're keeping up
with this like rotating pair situation, it's hard to keep
track of. But I think it's a cool format. Keeps

(03:40):
them on their toes. What do you think about this
rotating partnership.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah, it's gonna make politicking very interesting again.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
And power comes with winning, right, You want to win
so you can pick your partners here.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
You want to finish early. So I think this.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Season not now not only our point not only are
you so okay a couple of good things here, not
only are you in elimination if you're last, but there's
a point system to make everybody try, you know, up
the top eight, so everybody's gonna try every elimination. And
now you find out that, Okay, if you finish first,
you also get to pick first. So the higher you

(04:18):
finish means something there as well. So it adds a
lot more to the competitions. Competitions are gonna be more
this season than than we've seen in previous years.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Which this was another thing we talked about last week.
I am so so happy that they decided enough's enough
with it. We are finally counting dailies for something.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Well, we've been talking about it for so long.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
My gosh, you know All Stars has always done it
where you know, if you get in last place, you're
going in. Yeah, And that's what I think a lot
of people have enjoyed about All Stars is like, this
is what the challenge was for so many seasons. Was
like the dailies actually meant something, you know, I.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Think, Like, so, I think because the game changes, they
try to change things up. I think that's fine, but
like I think there are things you need to keep constant.
And I hope they realize this over time. But like
losing an a limit, losing a challenge needs you need
to go to the elimination every time, or there needs
to be some sort of like lower level tribunal that's

(05:24):
formed and then you pick from those three teams, Like
there needs to be some kind of you can't I
don't think moving forward in any other Flagship or any
other episode season, you can't just have the loser. Nothing
happens to them, Like, I think that's pointless. You can't
do that. I mean I think it was last season, right,
first challenge off the was on the skyscraper, right, and
like people six groups.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Didn't do it, they just quit yep. So yeah, I
don't think you can do that anymore.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
It's like pointless, right, I really think that it slows
the gameplay down a lot, you know, whether it's an
individual season, a partner season, a team season. People see
their friends winning or get for you know, do really
good time on one of these dailies and they say,

(06:13):
you know what, fuck it. Yep, I don't need to
try I can. And while that's good strategy, it just
for them individually as a viewer, it makes things go
much slower.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
It's extremely boring. I mean the whole Like, if you
think about a challenge episode, there are two big parts. Well,
there are three components. You you have every challenge episode.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
It's it's the it's the elimination, it's the daily, and
then it's like going out, you know, politicking or whatever.
And like the daily is a huge part of the
entire episode, and if you like remove that part, it
is a you know, it makes for an extremely boring framework.
So yeah, this is you have to be able to
keep it interesting, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
So in this selection here, this is the first we're
seeing people pick new partners. D picks Leroy, which ends
up being a very funny partnership in this daily. We
have in this episode Bananas picks Izzy in a very
smart move that I thought here because he knows the
UK Alliance is going after him. If he ties himself

(07:20):
to Izzy, who's a part of that, they'll proceed with caution.
You know. We we have Justin, who we talked about
a lot in the premiere. Justin's been everywhere in these
first couple episodes, one of the rookies, and I feel
this way about a good bunch of them that I
could really see, you know. I think after forty they

(07:44):
had this idea that they need to get some young
guns on the show because a lot of the people
on forty were either you know, closing their challenge career
or they're never going to do the show again.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Yeah, well they needed to refresh Survive survivor they need
to refresh Big Brother. As much as I like some
of these people, like you know, you have Michelle, you
have Josh Martinez, who all these people like, I just
don't think they make great TV.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Just the way they play the challenge, it kind of
I don't know. I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
I'm just saying the group maybe, I don't know, I
guess they make I'm talking I guess, like thinking about
the Michelle drama Josh like maybe those were the great
best people. So that group though, the overall group of
those people, I think Josh and Michelle probably made good TV.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
But I don't know. I just felt like maybe maybe
it wasn't that. Maybe it's just the framework of the show, but.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
I feel like it's just we've just been missing and
now these new guys that they brought on are beasts,
and also they're they're strategic and they're thinking, they're like
not scared of the vets, which you don't see very often.
So I don't know, maybe it was that aspect, but
something was missing from that former group that now we
have a new group.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
That's maybe where I'm at, Like I really like it.
I like I like the Big Brother people. They brought
in Blue America, Cedric Love those guys.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Sidney from Survivor. I don't even remember her, but she's hilarious.
So I don't know even the Delaware basketball player. I mean,
they brought in some really strong competitors.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, Lecca's great. Yeah, and I think she's real tough.
I could definitely see her on future seasons the So,
just like with the overall part of what you said,
I think with Michelle, some of what bit her. I
really like Michelle, and I think when she was on

(09:32):
when like in thirty nine, they were going after a
lot of the people that the audience liked. They kept
throwing Kylin, Hirasio and Nourisen and the fans were like,
we love them, why are you doing this? You know,
so the edit was a little tough on her in
thirty nine. Of course she comes back on forty. You know,

(09:52):
she has to go against her friend Olivia. I think
there's it.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Does make good TV. I mean, I will it does.
That's maybe way that wasn't the best They make good TV.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
I think I think there's like there's something with that
group that they're trying to establish, is like the new
core that is just there's something missing there. So I
really like the new people they brought in.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
And look, I I don't feel like, you know, you
see a guy like fessl he brings the same thing
every time he's on the show. To me, not the
best TV. But if we're gonna get a couple of
season break from Josh, you know, Michelle's not here this season.
Obviously Devin's not here, so maybe that's partially why Michelle's

(10:34):
not on. You know, I do think it's good though
overall with what you're saying, the CBS faction does need
to get a little bit bigger as far as like
who else can they pull from the CBS group to
call for a show? And yeah, you talk about Blue
in America. They're on the same Big brother season. A

(10:56):
lot of people were interested to see how this was
going to go for those too, because on their Big
Brothers season they were not allies. They didn't hate each other,
but they were on different sides of the house. We
see this on the Challenge though, people that are on
the same show, even or on the same season, they

(11:16):
try and align, and it seems like Blue and America
are definitely on the same page.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
For yeah, yeah, ye, no, no, they brought some good people.
The one thing I will say is like, I'm so
jealous of Ben. Ben seems like a regular guy that
got on the Challenge and I'm like, yo, come on,
like give me a chant?

Speaker 2 (11:33):
How do I apply?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
So he does seem like a regular guy, but I
know he also like does boxing and stuff like that.
He's definitely not from a show, which is.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Like, but the thing is like, you think all these
guys had.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Gone shows before him? Yeah yeah, Like if I ever
got on Big Brother.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
The whole time, I just be looking at the feed
cameras gone Challenge, Challenge call me after this show this show.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Being like Julie Poosy, where are you at? I know
you were a producer? Come on. So we get the
beginning part and again that look, he was a little
unhinged this episode. But this reminded me so much of
old school Challenge. We're seeing will crash out from the

(12:19):
beginning of this episode and obviously at the end it's
even worse. But the beginning, he's going around the house
how him and D hooked up in the hotel. We normally,
first of all, we normally don't even get told about.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Oh I didn't know it was at the hotel. They
just said they hooked up. It was just before the
the thing.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
The season started.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Yeah, like they just met each other then, yeah, oh
my gosh.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Look, hey, you you know you want to have fun.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
I don't know what goes on and when there's the questioning,
but yeah, yeah, I mean do you think Will well, Well,
the way they were making it seem was like they
hooked up for like years or something. They were like
good friends, and like Will was like, yeah, that's what
it made it seem like.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
And I think that's why everybody here is saying, like
in the house is like, dude.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, holy, that makes so much more sense now.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Wow, yeah, this is like the way it seemed. And
D has done a couple of interviews already. She was
on Challenge Mania after this past episode, and just hearing
some of that and you know, some of her other
press that she's done, she was like, it pretty much
seems like it was a you know, you hooked up

(13:29):
with someone in high school or college and like that
was and all of a sudden, it's oh my god,
I'm head over heels.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
I know, he felt he yeah, he fell quickly. Yeah,
poor guy. I feel bad, you know. And then you
mixed alcohol into that. It's not that's not a good
mix at all.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
As many challengers and you and I have said while
recapping the show, uh many of times alcohol is the
enemy in these arguments. We will again see that later,
but let's jump to or. First, we have our first
alliance outside of the British Alliance. We have the Jans

(14:08):
and Jungleman Alliance, which is Leka D, Sidney and Jeremy Jarremy.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Just it's James and who what is the alliance?

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Leka D.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Yeah, it's it's it's Tarzan and what do they name it.
It's Tarzan and.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
James, right, Jans in the Jungle Man.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
I really wish they had a play on Charlie's Angels
and they did, like Tarzan's Janes or something like that,
like that would have been a.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Little more clever. But yeah, I mean it's cool. I
like it.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
And listen, this alliance, I mean, I don't want to
say it's results oriented because it's certainly true. But you've
got two people in this alliance who had power in
back to back episodes, and of the rookies, these four
are tough. The whole house is scared of Jeremy. This

(14:57):
guy is a fucking beast the way he.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
What did he do? What did he do? Before the challenge?

Speaker 1 (15:03):
He was on amazing race with his brother. Okay, so
he's also from that CBS world.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Yeah, but he also is like an ultra marathon.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Or that's right, he does the ultras. I remember hearing
about that.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yeah, and his brother were in they were in the
army or the Marie. Yeah, I think the army. So
he like for I'm sure many of you who are
listening watched the episode zero. He absolutely crushed that run
up and down the mountain. It is there by like
twenty minutes for second place. He just killed it. Yeah,

(15:42):
everybody is worried about him, as like, this is a
guy we cannot let get to a final. If he
gets there, were screwed and they couldn't be more right.
Whether he's a rookie or a vet, this guy is
built for a final.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Yeah, yeah, you might have, like I think has been
looking for the next Jordan for a while, and they
might have looked into him, but I mean he's a rookie,
so we got to see how he does. But yeah,
you could have a new Jordan here.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
This sky is tough. Yeah, we don't know how he
is with puzzles and eating and math. Yeah it might
be the only thing. But as far as like endurance running.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Well, you get the you get the triathletes, the endurance runners, like,
those guys are the guys that you and they have
some strength.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Those guys are the guys that usually do pretty well.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
And you and I talk about this a lot off air,
but we fucking love the Amazing Race. I'm so happy
they found somebody from that show because I think this
might be the opening that they start drawing more people
from Amazing Race, because.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
You get them fit people there that could come do it.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I mean, there's plenty of people in the last three
seasons you can think of that probably deserve a shot.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
So they had James on USA two, but they really
haven't gotten more people yeah Amazing Race, and they should.
So the daily is called side by side. They are
jumping or they're seeing these huge uh side by side
cars that they have to memorize the code on the cars,

(17:11):
and they have to be side by side with their
partner the entire time. And of course as this is
going on, I mean, we got a great moment with
Dean Leroy where Des saying like, yeah, I think Lee
Roy's great, a possible.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yeah, I'm my girl.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
If you if you watched even like a five minute
reel of LeRoy's challenge career, you would know he is horrible. Yeah,
like that's his worst thing.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Every It's so funny when it starts like you're watching
these in real time, Like they did a good job
of showing in real time what it looks like. I mean,
it looks physically impossible to understand what those patterns are doing.
So there, you know, you always got I forgot who
came out who figured it out first based off the editing,
But I mean, at that point in time, you realize

(18:02):
there's some pattern to the puzzles. So once you figure
out part of it, you know, but like man, I
was like, holy crap, how are they going.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
To do this? So yeah, yeah, So my dad and
I were watching the episode live and then we watched
the Beato episode A Big Brother on DVR after but
he was saying the same thing. And then right after
he said it, we get the confessional of CT saying like,
you don't even have to look, you know, after a

(18:30):
while we realized, like you don't have to look at
the symbols on the car. They already had some of
the symbols on the answer key, like you said. And
then Turbo realizes it in real time. Yeah, and him
and Lekka really clock in and end up winning the

(18:50):
daily here in episode two, real top pair. I know Lea,
Oh yeah, that's a sick pair. Yeah, I know, Leka
didn't want to change your part and for good reason.
You know, Turbo's a champ, Leca's a beast, and they
win here. You know, we get Olivia and Will in

(19:11):
second place. Olivia, as this episode goes on, wants nothing
to do with Will. Cannot wait until they're not partners anymore.
America and CT was a fun pair to watch too.
I'm really happy they got America on here. She's not
like you don't think of her as like the most
athletic big brother person, but again, that's not what we

(19:33):
always need on a challenge.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
I also appreciate that's he obviously is very much a
Challenge fan as well, which is pretty cool to see.
Like she was kind of starstruck initially that she was
paired to CT so that was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
It was cool now poor Blue because she talks about
how she was Derek copping, how she went from Derek Shop. Yeah,
episode one, you know, they don't go into elimination, They
don't get last place. They finished the middle of the
road there and a premiere Derek Kaczynski and puzzles. They
don't go together.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
I mean, yeah, And to be fair, like I understand
Blue is upset and she's kind of mentioning that, but
like she also didn't do anything to help. She's sitting
on the sitting on the bank and kind of letting
Derek look and she kind of seemed to have given
up at that point. And then we'll see in you know,
later in the elimination she seems to kind of give
up a little too easily. So, I yeah, that partially

(20:30):
Derek obviously did terrible, but I think there's also some
some blame to go around for everybody there.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
For sure, for sure, and the other thing and maybe
it was because the side by sides were too loud,
but I'm sitting here thinking, like as the Vets are
figuring out the the pattern, like how do you not
hear other people? You know what I mean? It's not
like they were too far away, so it was interesting.

(20:56):
I do agree. I thought Blue could have done more.
We find out, though, the winners have a new power,
a new decision to make. This week, the winners are
going to pick a team to be the nominee against
Adrien and the Hangnail, and then the whichever one gets

(21:20):
voted in will be going against Blue. Since it is
a girl's day this week, Turbo, he says, Look, I'm
gonna hand the power over to Leca. All I want
is my girls, Kara and Nanni to be safe. You know,
you do whatever you want. Aside from that, you know,
we know Turbo's been friends with Carl Maria. They went

(21:41):
to a final together and war the World's won. They've
been friendly on the seasons they've done together. His history
with Nanni is well documented, and I'm sure that they
patch things up coming into this season.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, can we also get Turbo on an action movie
like let's I want to see this as well.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
It's his overall goal. Let's let's see him do that.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I think that's what he's been doing on the outside
of the challenge, has he Yeah, I mean obviously out
in Uh you know, I don't want to get the
country wrong where he's from. But actually yeah, well yeah,
I think he's being like a action actor in Turkey.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
That's awesome, like a stunt double Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
And he he very much would do a good job
at that role.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
He doesn't he like is like I will die for
this and like four flips into into concrete or whatever.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Yeah, so we see this was very funny. We see
justin bringing it up to Derek that you know, it's
karma that justin you know, Derek had this whole heart
to heart with him last week. He votes for him
to go in. And something that I know is that

(23:00):
I want to stop down on for a second. The
Confessionals last week, everyone kept saying, and maybe you mentioned this,
I forget, but everyone kept saying, Oh, the the House
vote is going this way, the House vote is going
that way. The vote was only like a vote or
two different. Yeah, we we watched it again. I mean
it was Derek. Derek made the vote. It would have

(23:22):
it would have tied, but like Derek both Derek shifted
the vote and both of them said this is the
way the house is going. So they didn't know and
they just kind of like made it as an excuse.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah, I thought, uh that the other Derek his excuse
of like oh, Carra is my friend and stuff like that,
Like I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
I Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
One, it's one thing to have a heart to heart
with somebody, but if you're gonna say I will not
vote you in in.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
A moment like that, you cannot say you can't.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
You can't do that. So I wonder if they're brand
new the challenge, yeah, or somebody who people think is
like a joke or going home first, you just shouldn't
do that because it's going to show the rest of
the house. If you're gonna do that to him, what
the hell will you do?

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah? And the fact that Justin called him out, I
mean yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Also love again.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
We watched it again because my wife had to watch
the episode. But watching Naya like gas up justin the
whole episode was also awesome, Like she was just hyping
him up, which is really cool.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Yeah. I think and and I don't know. Look, I
could be dead wrong, and it is a Guy's Day
next week in episode three, he could go home next week.
But in my opinion, I think Justin's someone that's sticking
around for a good while on this.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
I think I think Ben's next. If I had to
give my honest opinion, I think Ben is next.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Yeah, I just obviously the Vets who get power are
going to try to go for the rookies. It just
makes sense right now.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Well, they're gonna want the easiest matchup in the elimination,
so they're gonna Unfortunately, I think it's Bet.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
I think it's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Ben, right, Yeah, it's it's just I don't see Justin
going in. He's made a lot of friends so far,
he's really likable and just he's tougher than people were
initially giving him. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
If I would say, if the you he either gets
last or the UK gets some power, I think they
could vote him in. But yeah, I don't. I think
I think you're right, though I don't. I don't see
it really happening. But hey, with with this challenge where
if your last place you're in, who knows?

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Yeah, so Blue wants Tay to go in. We we
see that that both options for voting don't end up.
You know, one of them is Tay, but it seems
to lose traction quickly. But the night out at the
uh this episode at the bar, this is another classic

(25:52):
old school challenge moment in the fight that Derek and
uh Leo get into about the buy one, get one.
They used to fight about bar tabs all the time,
an old school challenge. And when I'm hearing this, I'm like,
alcohol is the enemy.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
I forget, I keep forgetting. They have to pay for
their own drinks.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Yeah, but that was a definitely a funny moment. And
I you know, man, you kind of just sitting there
like Leo, just back away, Man, just back away.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
It's not that important. But I mean he wasn't the
wrong right, both of them were kind of Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
But I will say Derek is getting himself into a
lot of messes very early.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
So you know, we'll see how that that goes.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
He could be, if you want to talk about one
of the first vets that could go in. He very
well could be a candidate to go in first to
be voted in.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Yeah, and it's a shame because we were, you know,
we were gassing him up on forty.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Well, dude, he I've been talking.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
I've been talking about this and I don't want to, like,
we'll see how the season goes, but it really seems
like he had an amazing season underdog season.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
We were so pumped for him, and it seems he.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Is now thinking he's got that I am better than
everyone attitude at this point where he's like I can
teach you how to do the game and all this
other stuff. That's kind of how I got that. He's
playing now because he's gotten there. So I think that
there's an aspect of and he's deserved it a little
bit arrogant.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
I mean he deserved it.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
He killed it last season and now he like he's
established as a threat, So I think he deserves some
of that. But I think there's an aspect that might
be rubbing some people the wrong way. But we'll see,
we'll see what happens. But again, yeah, we were gassing
him up and now it's like he's involved in a
lot of little scuffles here and there. So we'll see
if it comes back to bite him, and we'll see
how it transpires it.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
I will say, after the Justin thing, he knew.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
He did that was wrong, so like he is able
to kind of step back and be like, yeah, I
mess that up. And I actually think the fight between
him and Justin at the bar that night too, Like
I thought Justin was going way too hard at him.
I was like, I was like, hey, man, like you
just met him, Like you can say that that wasn't cool,
Derek says sar and that's it, and then you can

(28:02):
go after him all you want.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
But like, dude, he just kept going and Derek's like,
I just met.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
This guy like two days ago, So that's the perfect point.
I think Derek bounced back from the premiere very well.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
I think so too.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Outside of the the leos, I mean it's classic. It's
classic challenge fighting over bar tabs, so, you know, not
really a big deal. I'm hoping just because he got
himself involved in another argument, I'm hoping that's not how
it transpires. And like I liked him going to Justin
and being like, hey, i'm your but you know I can.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
I've been there. Let's get through it together.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
But then turning him back on like kind of stabbing
him in the back was kind of like what are
you doing, Derek? But now I think, yeah, he's recovered.
I think he learned from it and move forward. So
I think I think there's like a good outlook.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
But yeah, go ahead. Sorry, I wanted to just clear byther.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
You're good man. No, I think you hit the nail
on the head where Derek's like, look, I I messed up,
and I'm sorry. But I've known you for a couple
of days. I've known Kara for years. And the other
thing that people weren't talking about that is very dangerous
on these seasons is tying a House vote.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
It's something I no, no, no, that's the other thing.
That's the other thing I thought of. You know, I
think the vote. I think the vote that did it
was the other Derek's vote.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
I think that's what did it. Yeah, otherwise, because because
here's the thing, the last vote was Tay. Was that
the last vote last week?

Speaker 3 (29:21):
I think so yeah, so they knew it was going
to go to Jake, going to go against Jake yep.
So I think she was like, hey, I think Derek
was like, you know, we don't want to tie because
we don't know what's going to happen.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
So yeah, no, I'm fully with you. Eventually, I think
the tie is going to happen. Between the UK and
the US, which would be really cool. But yeah, week one,
hell no.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
And I so I think I think Chavez did a
good job in this episode. Here look that game fight,
like obviously, it's funny. I'm sure there were other fights
like it where they could have easily aired. Probably two
or three more fights that are that are happening like
that over stupid bullshit. So I don't know if that's

(30:04):
gonna have game implications. Of course, if Chavez wins it
daily with his partner, which we've seen him compete very well,
so that could happen.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Oh, yeah, he's a strong I think he's a strong competitor.
We'll see it if he gets the right partner. I
think that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Yeah, he may easily just be like throwing in lea.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Making I mean also, speaking of partners, we didn't talk
about this last week. Anissa, for the fifteenth season in
a row, is in the best shape of her life.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
So let's see how that transpires.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Listen. I know she said that she looks.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
I will say this season she looks completely different, So
I'm excited to see.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
I will one hundred percent say she looks a lot.
She looks better in shape, So I'm excited to see
how it goes. But she does say it every season.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
It's like, you're right, You're right, And look, I am
trying to turn a new leaf with my Philly girl.
You know, I've seen her in Philly. I've seen her
down the shore before. She's very nice to all the fans,
you know we we have. I was like, you know,
I'm a huge challenge fan the whole nine. She's very nice,
but on the show she can be extremely frustrating, especially

(31:08):
with the same uh you know, confessionals every single season
and how she moves is the same every season. But
shout out to whoever she hired as her trainer, because
she really is coming in looking ready to go this sea,
like really is so look, I hope she gets it done.

(31:31):
But then this is even more of the crash out
we're getting here from Will when we get back from
the night out in the bus, which we haven't seen
bus footage since Tony Camilla hooked up on Dirty thirty.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Oh my gosh, dude, holy dude, bus footage used to
be again again. They're coming back to all the classic
like this is what drew us in, like right, and
they're going back to it and we're loving it, so
keep it going, please.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
We see Will punching the seat so hard because he's sees.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Right next to D sitting right next to D too, and.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
D so far from what we've seen on the show,
D is just playing with bananas. She's flirting with him.
You know, they're light, they're cuddling together. She hasn't hooked
up with him or anything yet, we don't know. But yeah,
look and if they did, so what Yeah, sure Will
has got to calm it down.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Well, here's the thing is like, if he was sober,
he would have been and he would have been hurt,
but he would have been fine.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
The alcohol.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Man, I'm telling you, Like, dude, the fact that he
just you know, so then yeah, on the bus they
get back home and he's outside, and the fact that
he started crying.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
I was like, dude, man, I.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Want to shout out some of these uh uh other
challenge podcasts because you know, I'm a patron of rob
is a podcast, and they Dave a Challenge podcast, said
Brian Cohen and Ali lash Yer do and they talk
about how the are you the one people are crazy
good for drama and some of them are good competitors too,

(33:00):
Hunter Barfield. He hasn't been on the show in a while.
Hunter was already the one.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Oh I was just thinking about Hunter.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Yeah, Amber who was cast on Double Agents as a
rookie who did pretty well. Amber m the smaller one.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Yeah yeah, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Yeah, they listen. Are you and Will? That's why I'm
bringing it up. Will is? Are you the one? He's
the most recent?

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Are Will also seems like a tank?

Speaker 3 (33:26):
I mean we're talking about Jeremy, but Will seems like
a tank if you get him in a physical battle
against somebody in elimination. Oh my so yeah no, But honestly,
and I was saying this before the drunk part. I
was like, oh, Will seems like a really nice guy,
Like he just seems like a really chill guy. And
then yeah, the drunk and then you know, and then
we production pipes in that like fake breaking, you know sound,

(33:46):
and you're like, oh, someone just broke something. And then
Will comes out and just punched the wall. I wish
they showed the hole. I want to see the hole
where he punched it in.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
But yeah, he punched the wall and that wasn't great.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Listen, good it is.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
People.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
I know, it's just here. Here's the thing, if I,
if I were to go into the challenge, like probably
would not have that many amount of.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Drinks for the first couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Like get comfortable with these people a little bit before
you start, like getting into that state where you could
you know, be silly like.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
That and listen. I mean you want to talk. That's
another good topic. We obviously there was everything that happened
with Ashley Mitchell. It was well documented on social media.
You know, people thought she was banned forever because on spies,
lies and allies. She you know, people figure out how

(34:40):
to you know, gain the system. But the New School seasons,
they were given certain amount of drink tickets that they
had to give at the bar because certain we've seen
it happen, right, people get too drunk. Stuff happens, And
it was the same thing with Ashley, I.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
Mean freaking Camilla.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Yeah, I mean it's happened in the past, but I'm
just curious how much will drank because this was a
blown meltdown.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
I mean I think when you when you don't have
drink tickets and you let him go on their own tab,
I mean you had Leo Leo could barely form a
full sentence when he was arguing with Derek.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
This gun was hammered. Will was very drunk, like.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
They were still doing drink tickets. But I guess since
they went to a bar.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Yeah, well Derek say, was filling out his tab too,
so so that's the other thing.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
I mean, yeah, I guess since they're going to a bar,
like a different establishment. It's different. Yeah, the bars at
the house, then they give the drink tickets and all that.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
But yeah, I'm sure like like during COVID or when
they had the little space bubble right outside the house,
you know that was probably.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Yeah, yeah, so after all this stuff we were getting,
I love this conversation with This is again part of
Derek's social game. From forty. We see him talking to
two girls that he got close with on season forty
of Naya and Olbya. In the I forget what their

(36:12):
alliance was called, but there were it was those three
Michelle and they did a pretty good job on forty.
They all went pretty far. But they're all talking and
Nya says, you know what, I feel like a goddamn
virgin in this house.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
There's not a guy that oh yeah that I would
like yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
And she's like, come here, and she she grabs on
her night desk, she takes a vibrator out of and
she's like you and me for this season, baby girl.
And I was dying at our friend Naya here. This
was hysterical. Look, I don't know what this season is
going to bring for her. She had a tough injury

(36:53):
in that mountain climb to start the season. Yeah, you
feel for and listen from the beginning of this show,
it's been if people see injury in the water, they're
throwing you in.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
So well, you think that until you get to this vote.
I mean I thought that that we're gonna vote the obvious.
I don't know, Blue, I guess was not thinking, but like, yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Well, the problem is is that even if you throw
Naya in, she's one tough girl. No, no, no.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
I was talking about I forgot the other girl's name.
Who's a hangnail. He has a foot, she's not supposed
to be one. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Like, yeah, I would have been put her in for sure.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Well we're at that part in the episode. But here's
my thing. The jury was the ones to vote in.
It was either gonna be Tay and Derek because Leka
listened to Blue. She was like, I'll give her who
she wants and Derek or Adrian. And then the jury

(37:58):
had to vote whether it was going to be Tay.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Or Yeah, but Blue Blue said, Hey, so Blue is
not Blue. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
I mean, I guess it's there's a morality aspect, right,
I think you and I would have been like, no,
this person's hurt like that kind of seems screwed up.
I mean, maybe you're going for a lot of money,
so maybe not. But I thought it was interesting. I mean,
do these cheer people. Man, we'll get into it, but
these cheer people underestimate These are strong people and they
have been doing even though they're little, they have been

(38:25):
doing incredible moves and building like crazy strength for their
whole life. So like, just because they're small like they are,
they're some powerful people. So I think we're realizing, hey,
let's not underestimate these guys.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
I think it's just in general, let's not underestimate the
UK Alliance.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
I think, well, yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, yeah, I
guess unless you're Rogan.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
But yeah, seriously, but people look at the UK Alliance
and it's like, well, Rogan's a champ and he made
another final, but now he's gone. And I think the
UK girls had a bit of a chip on their
shoulder because.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Yeah, I mean, I don't think we Tay is also
new though, so like how into the UK A Lions
this year? I understand she's gonna be with them, but like,
I don't know. My thing is like with the UK Allions,
I don't think you're ever going to I don't think
they're gonna have success this season until THEO completely draws
the line in the sand and says I'm fully with
the UK because I think he would flip in a
moment if Bananas or somebody was like, you're going in

(39:24):
unless this happens and THEO will swap very quickly, especially
if they get a Livia out of the house. So
we'll see Olivia might be the glues holding it together
and when she's gone that might be that might be
the end of the UK Allions.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
So we'll see. She's looking tough this season.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Though she is man, she's looking like a beast.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
And everyone's been doing the math bro and all. I
don't know how far her and THEO go on this season,
but people are convinced that that baby was conceived in the.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
Oh House, My gosh.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
And look, it would not be uncommon for the challenge
for Oliba too have been pregnant competing on the show.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Yeah, yeah, some people coming. Would it happened recently on
Spies Last Allies? Is that the most recent that somebody
had to leave because of that?

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Yep? Yep? And then Melissa was pregnant in the Total Matter,
That's right, that's right. I think no, Bailey, Yeah, no,
I think Bailey was pregnant too in the Total Madness final. Yeah,
because they have two they have two girls, so yeah,
just Natalie Anderson had to leave Double Agents for that.

(40:37):
So it's it's happened many many times on the show,
which is a bit concerning. Not gonna lie, very not
good of the show.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
I mean, obviously it creates great draa.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
So yeah, but forget that drama, Like, come on, we
can get drama from other places. We don't need it
from Pregnant Women Committee on the show. So we're heading in. Look,
everybody's kind of respecting what Blue said, and I'm really

(41:08):
confused about everybody just being like, yeah, we want to
give them who they want, Like.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
I just don't think.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
I don't think, like if I had to think about
battles to pick and choose, I don't think this is
the battle to pick and cheese.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Blue like really didn't have a lot of alliance.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
And I think they're just like, you know, That's what
I'm saying about, Like, I understand Tay is UK or whatever, Like,
is she really like that ingrained?

Speaker 2 (41:32):
If she was that ingrained.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
Into the UK Alliance, it would have been like, no,
we're not doing that, and they would have voted somebody else.
So I think just because of her being new, the
UK Allians are still like Okay, I mean that's fine,
which is interesting because you just lost the number, You're
gonna lose another number.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
But yeah, so we get Tay against Blue. Adrian is
now going to be in the game.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Uh yeah, we don't know what happens though.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Yeah, we don't know what happens, but she's going into eliminations,
so we're gonna figure it out at the end of
this elimination. Here fun elimination, real good one. Our solid,
solid elimination, back to back episodes with incredible eliminations. Of course,
just an upset Rogan in the premiere in a great elimination,

(42:20):
real fun. And now we get these two in an
elimination called laser focus, which is an iteration of balls
in pretty much where there's one person on offense, one
on defense. There're gonna be lasers lighting up in the
center of the arena, and the person on offense is
going to do whatever it takes to touch the laser,

(42:42):
person on defense, whatever it takes to stop them. They
will each get three turns on offense and three turns
on defense. And this was an incredibly even matchup and
just again another elimination that we enjoy to see of
two people giving it every last bit that they have.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
Yeah, it was a battle and it was like obviously
clearly exhausting the way that they had to go for
you know, five rounds and like two times each.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
I mean, it was just crazy.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Yeah. So TJ also says one last thing like he
likes to do, and he says, by the way, you're
so you can't tackle the person or anything like that,
It's just gonna be pushing back and forth with your hands,
you know. But they they both found ways, you know,

(43:38):
whether around the other girl or just pushing through them,
you know, whatever. May be this was real fun and
you know, uh, Blue is really coming out hot.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Yeah, you think he was gonna dominate, but like that's
what they made it seem like, but that obviously wasn't
the case.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Tay is just she was beaten her by second at
every turn. Yep. It was just the little.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Quick and strong. I mean, that's what I'm saying about
these two people. Their quick athletics, strong, nimble, and you know,
just more stamina as well.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
You know.

Speaker 3 (44:15):
Yeah, it thinks that Blue kind of gave up because
it's such a battle, but yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:18):
No, hold up, I want to defend Blue.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
Here go ahed Yeah, yeah, because I want to hear
your take on that.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Yeah, in that last round, Blue got four lasers, so once.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Tay okay, I that I missed. Okay, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Of course the edit fucked blew over, but Blue only
got four on offense in that last round. Yeah, once
Tay hit that fifth laser, it was like, Okay, I'm
gonna lay down because I lost. That was how I
looked at it. I didn't think it was fair of
the show to edit it like, hey, Blues is giving up.

(44:56):
I did not see that from her at all. I
really thought she gave it everything.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
Yeah, okay, well that that makes more sense than yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
Yes, yes, very good episode. We get Tay winning here,
Blue goes home. Derek k is now the the hangnail.
But now we're going to be picking partners. You know,
Adrian is going to be back in being able to

(45:26):
be picked for a partnership.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
He'll be last pick.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
But yeah, and Derek Kaczynski is now the hang nail.
So there your rookie girl who can't have a solid
partner in the game. This might be good for Derek though,
to rest up because of his injury.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
Oh yeah, he needs this, Yeah, he needs this.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
The only thing is he's going to be a sitting
duck for the elimination if somebody wants somebody hurting.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
So but it's still Derek, so he's gonna put his
in that.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
But I also think these Vets are they're not going
to throw someone like Derek in. I think if they're
if another Vet becomes a hangnail, I could see it happening.
But Derek, between you know, the podcast and just with
how long he's been on the show, I really don't
see this group of Vets throwing him to the wolves.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
Yeah, well, we'll have to see who loses. I guess
that'll determine it.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
Yeah, who loses and also who wins the Daily next week. Yep,
so it's gonna be interesting to see. We will be
back breaking it all down. A real awesome start to
Challenge forty one. Just very fun. I'm hoping for the
show's sake they get more viewers. I really wish that

(46:49):
they would have more, you know, more ways to stream
the show. You know, whether it's like adding it on
Paramount Plus right after that episode airs, yeah, whatever, you know,
it would help with viewership. But great season so far.
I'm looking forward to it, Austin. Any closing thoughts, No,

(47:09):
I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
It's a great season. I'm excited to recap it.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
I'm excited to be back, and yeah, be back weekly
with some you know.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
You're working on your guests. I'm excited to see where
we go.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
Absolutely, so listen, we'll be back. Hopefully we have some
bonus content for you coming your way, you know, in
the coming weeks. We'll be back next week breaking down
episode three and hope you all have a great week.

New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
