is our own Pastor Caleb Santos.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Greetings, this is your friend and host, Pastor Caleb Santos,
and I want to share a couple of thoughts with
you about the subject of mixture. Mixture and we have
to be very careful nowadays that we don't fall into
that sin. It's very easy to fall and I want
to share some thoughts. Let's start with the Book of Hebrews,
Chapter three, verse seven and eight. Hebrews, Chapter three, Verse
(00:42):
seven and eight. Wherefore, as the Holy ghost saith today,
if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts
as in the provocation, in the day of temptation and
the wilderness. Notice here says today you have a chance
to hear his voice. In fact, you're hearing his voice
(01:03):
through the Word of God. And a lot of times
when we failed to listen, to obey, to do what
he tells us, we're heartening our hearts. And notice here says, hearten,
not your heart, as in the provocation and the Day
of Temptation and the wilderness, they paid a hard price,
a very hard price for their heartening their hearts and
(01:27):
not entering into the land of promise the rest that
the Lord had for them. And we got to learn
from this, because let me tell you can learn from history,
You can learn from the mistakes of others. Amen. And
let's look at Genesis forty one forty five. And Pharaoh
called Joseph's name Satana Panayah, and he gave him to
(01:50):
asana the daughter of Pontifera pries Saban, and Joseph went
out over all the land of Egypt or the land
of Egypt. Notice this is when Joseph got promoted to
be second in charge. Notice here that there was a
mixture in the life of Joseph. Joseph's name was called Sapa,
(02:13):
not Paniah. I don't know if I'm pronouncing it right,
but some believe it could mean savior of the world.
And also the wife's Asanaiah. She was the daughter of Partifiara,
priests of armed Now when we read that, we don't
pay much attention to that, but the Egyptian had pagan priests.
(02:36):
These priests that were in the that was in the
city of Armed around Heliopolis, I believe they were worshiping
the Sun God. So there was a mixture in the
life of Joseph okay, and we have to be careful
with mixture. That's why the Bible commands us not to
marry people who are not saved. If you are born again,
(02:58):
if you love the Lord, and you get yoke to
an unbeliever, that could lay a snare for you. And
I think that Joseph, the enemy was laying a snare
on him. But I believe that Joseph, even though he
fell short in some things, I believe that Joseph maintained
his faith in the Lord because he raised up his
(03:20):
two children, and from what his believed, he probably raised
them up in the fear of the Lord. But we
see a little bit of mixture here. We see that
Joseph had married a daughter of a pagan priest. So
there was mixture creeping in there, and that's why we
get to see why Israel fell into idolatry. And idolatry
(03:42):
will bring slavery, will bring service to will bring oppression,
and that's what happened with Israel. Israel went and sought
refuge in Egypt. They found comfort, they found a good
way of life. But let me tell you they paid
a price when they started to get a mixture with
the Egyptian culture. Those here in Genesis forty four to five,
(04:05):
and it says when they this is a background when
they stop Benjamin and Joseph set him up and put
a cup in his bag. And this is what they
told him when he got stopped by the Egyptian police.
Is not this in which my lord drinketh, and whereby
indeed he diveneth, you have done even so doing so,
(04:26):
it is believed that he was messing around with deep divination.
So these are these are mixtures that were creeping in
and erasing their identity of serving God. And see that's
what the enemy will do. He'll start with a mixture.
And let me say this. I know I'm not going
to be too popular in saying this, but every Easter
(04:49):
you have the churches go on the Easter egg butut
egg hunt, and they celebrate more the bunny, the rabbit,
and whoever heard about a rabbit laying eggs? And let
me tell you, if you if you look at the
at the background of Easter, it has a pagan background. See,
(05:09):
we're supposed to be celebrating Resurrection Day, and we have
that mixture coming in because they sometimes even some pastors
will say, oh, kids like candy and what have you.
Sure they're like candy, but we have to be careful
what we teach them. We can allow to allowed to
have mixture in the midst of all. This another mixture
(05:29):
we have. And I'm not going to be towing the
line in this because it's something that's traditional, and I
think that God understands this. The fact that we think
that Jesus was born in December the twenty fifth, and
if you do your study, he was not born in
the twenty fifth. But it's a time that I think
that the Lord allows us to celebrate Jesus because it's
(05:51):
a doorway for us to witness and to get people saved.
So you know, that's something that, yes, is a mixture,
but I don't think it's a as a thing that's
really bad per se. You know, It's just we get
the days mixed up and we think that Jesus celebrated birthdays.
In the Bible, birthdays weren't celebrated birthdays, will celebrate usually
(06:14):
when a king was putting somebody else to die to death.
Now God allows birthday because we need to honor people.
And I think that's a good way of honoring people.
But that's a mixture that came and crept into the church.
Nothing wrong with birthdays. I don't want anybody to say
that Pastor Santos is saying not to celebrate birthday. Celebrate
your birthday, honor one The Bible says to honor one another.
(06:37):
But the birthday started off. Let make it clear. It
started off when kings used to have birthdays as a
way to kill their prisoners. It was a real twisted
paganistic way. But thank God that you know, as we
as we in the church adopted the customs of birthday,
we made it to be something good. But let me
(06:58):
tell you the Old test and the old New Testament.
People that the believers didn't celebrate no birthdays. They didn't,
So you know, that came up with a different culture.
So these are mixtures. And I'm not trying to be
you know, full finding, but see mixtures. If you don't
be careful, what happens is that mixture will lead into idolatry.
(07:21):
It will lead into idolatry. Now I want to share
another word of scripture, Exodus one eight. Now there arose
a new king over Egypt with new not Jesus. And
if you look at the amplified version, the amplified version
will say, now a new king arose over Egypt who
did not know Joseph nor the history of his accomplishments.
(07:44):
And we have to be careful when we have certain
people trying to change the history of our nation, especially
when they say that America was not a Christian nation. Yes,
America has had defects, America has had the the evil
of slavery. But America started off as a Christian nation,
(08:07):
one nation under God, and their purpose was to have
the government be ruled by the Lord. That was the
original intent and the Mayflower Compact. And people are trying
to rewrite that part of history. In fact, when they
were during the Revolutionary War, some people yelled out, we
(08:27):
have no king but King Jesus. So the root of
Christianity was there. But what happened. If you look at
your dollar bill, you see the sene eye, the illuminatia,
what have you? All these symbols are mixture. Mixture, and
we need to pray for this country. We really do
need to pray for this country and allow us not
(08:47):
to get caught up with mixture. Amen. And that's what
happens with people. The Jewish people that settled in Israel.
They got comfortable, they got to learn the ways of Egypt,
and all of a sudden, they forgot their history. They
forgot Joseph and and and guess what, the king himself,
(09:08):
the King of Egypt, forgot about Joseph, and he forgot
about the history of his accomplishments. That's why history is
so important, and we have to be very careful and
that we need to pray for our leaders that they
do not trample with the history books because they're trying
to change history so they could help us, get us
(09:28):
to forget our historical background. And usually when that happens,
we're condemned to repeat the mistakes of the past. So
we need to pray for our leaders and pray for
the teachers, pray for the schools that they don't alter history. Amen,
Praise God. So that's why I want to share with you.
And in this day, you got to ask yourself two questions.
(09:50):
Am I hearing the voice of God. And two do
I have any mixture that I need to get rid of.
So again, some mixture is not bad, like in the
example Christmas. I don't think God God cares whether you
celebrate his birthday on December the twenty fifth or any
other day. But I believe that Jesus was not born
(10:10):
on December the twenty fifth. Is that something that will
get us to hell? No, it's not a heaven or health.
Then certain mixtures are not bad. Sometimes even some tradition
will help enhance worship. But when you have mixture that
is contrary to the word of God, contrary to the
historical foundation of our history, then there's something we need
(10:30):
to be concerned about. Amen. When you have people talking
about that you know, Jesus didn't exist and that Christianity
is superstition, that's what we have to be concerned about. Amen,
Praise God. So anyway, I wanted to share these things,
how mixture could lead into idolatry, and that's what happened.
(10:51):
And when Abraham had a word four hundred years before
it happened, he saw it. He saw that his descendants
were going to get plunged into a world of darkness,
and for four hundred I think it was for four
hundred years. If I'm not mistaken, you read the accouncept
of Abraham. God gave him a prophetic word during that time. Amen,
(11:11):
and let me see if I could find it here,
and my trust the computer bear with me. Amen, Amen,
praise God, because I want to be able to show
you that verse. If not, I'll have you look for it. Amen.
(11:32):
Let's see if I find it. Let's see if I
find it here, Praise the Lord. And I know it's
in Genesis. Somewhere in Genesis. Okay, here it is Genesis fifteen,
fifteen twelve. It says, and when the sun was going down,
the deep sleep fell upon Abram, and lower horror of
great darkness fell upon him. And he said, unto Abram, no, oh, maturity,
(11:55):
that thy seed shall be a stranger in the land
that is not theirs, and shall serve them, and they
shall afflict them four hundred years. See, Abraham had that word.
Abraham had that prophetic utterance. And let me tell you,
God will prepare you not only for the future, because
the Bible says that the Spirit will show us things
to come, but he'll prepare us to give a word
(12:18):
for our descendants. Should Jesus tarry his coming and we
pass away, we could have a word that will help
our descendants make it through all these challenging times. Amen,
So let me tell you the prophetic is something that
I value greatly. And notice that Abraham had knowledge of
this four hundred years before it happened. Abraham was a
(12:41):
great man. Abraham the Lord. The Lord showed him a
revelation of being born again, a revelation of Jesus resurrection.
That when he went to sacrifice the son, he was
confident that the Lord will resurrect them. And that's why
he if you notice the accounts when he will going
up to sacrifice, he said, read the accounts carefully, he says, me,
(13:04):
and my son will come back. So he had that confidence,
and the Lord was really impressed with Abraham's faith. So
praise the Lord. Hearten not your heart before the Lord.
That's the word for today. And analyze your heart for
any mixture that may be that may not be inligned
(13:25):
with the word, and do what you can to correct that. Amen,
be careful with mixture. Mixture will certainly lead onto idolatry.
Be blessed, and this wonderful, wonderful day, and this happy Tuesday.
