Speaker 1 (00:02):
Greetings. The Christian Corner Ministries greets you. In the name
of Jesus. We are delighted that you have joined us.
We pray that the worship and biblical teaching would help
and encourage you. Now, the next voice you will hear
is our own pastor Caleb Santos.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Well, Praise God, Praise God, Praise God. God is a
good God. He is a wonderful God. And I love
serving the Lord. Amen, and I know you do. Praise God. Amen.
Today we're gonna look at a couple of things about
the life of David. We're gonna have a study on
the life of David, and I think we're gonna see
(00:54):
a couple of things that's gonna minister to us. I
was just about need to pray to the Lord for
him to give me a topic, and all of a sudden,
he gave me a topic even before I ask him.
That's how good God is. Amen, and I love him. Amen.
So you're going to study a couple of things about
the life of David, things that with the use in
(01:17):
our life. But before we do anything, let us approach
the throne room of grace and prayer. Heavenly Father, I
thank you for my brothers and sisters who are listening
to this uh to this teaching and Father, in the
name of Jesus, Lord, I just pray that your spirit
of wisdom and revelation could fall upon them, Lord and
(01:38):
could help them to understand your word. Father. Your word
says Lord that you'll never leave us, So forsake us.
So Father, in the name of Jesus, Lord, minister comfort
to us, help us, point point out solutions, point out corrections,
whatever you want to do, Lord, but minister to your
people in the name of Jesus. I pray, Amen and Amen.
(02:01):
Let's look at the Book of Daniel eleven, chapter eleven,
verse thirty two. Daniel, chapter eleven, verse thirty two, and
it says here and such as do wickedly against the
Covenant shall he corrupt by flatries. But the people that
do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Now,
(02:24):
I want to really concentrate on the last sentence where
it says the people that do know their God shall
be strong and do exploits and do great things. And really,
when you think about this, you have to know the Lord.
You have to know who you are in Christ and
(02:46):
what belongs to you. You have to have its nature.
You have to let his word work in you, Amen,
Because the world of God says I can do all
things through Christ, who strengthens me. Amen. And we're going
to look at some things about David. David was a
shepherd boy and David started tending the sheep, and that
(03:09):
was a low level job, and his brother didn't think
much of him, but he was called to greatness. But
David had one thing. He never lost his praise before
the Lord. And it is believed that he wrote Psalms
twenty three based on his experiences as a shepherd boy.
And if you noticed the life of David and you
(03:32):
could look at it, you could make a study on it.
He actually fought against the lion and the bear. And
one of the things that I've noticed, and I did
a little bit of a study on the bear, the
life of the bear, and I would you know, I'd
rather not face no bear at all. But they're saying
(03:53):
that the black bear is a lot more Dacu than
the grizzly bear. The grizzly bear would attack you will
right then and there. But I don't want to run
into no bears. But bears can weigh up to five
hundred or more pounds, and when they're fully mature, they
stand up and they are tall. So can you imagine
(04:15):
David having fought the bear, having fought the lion, And
this was a kid fifteen years old and he was
tending the sheep. In fact, I don't know. I'm not
too sure whether it was the lion. I think it
was the lion, if memory serves me right, that he
got the lion by his beard and started to fight
with that lion. Let me tell you, David was no
(04:38):
ordinary kid. He was a kid that has strength. He
was a kid that knew about a battle, about wrestling.
I mean, if David would have been alive nowadays, he
would have surprised many of us. He could have been
maybe who knows, a champion wrestler or what have you.
I mean, David was no punk. He was strong. He
(04:59):
was a strong kid. And I want to say a
couple of things about David experience. I think that what
God did in the life of David, he prepared him.
He prepared him for the biggest challenge of his life,
and that's facing his goliath. Let me tell you one thing,
(05:20):
and I know that a lot of people they a
lot of times we hear a lot of confusion in
the air, a lot of things traditional things. And when
you tell people that they they're destined for greatness, they're saying, oh,
you're preaching a false gospel. But let me tell you.
The Bible says that a man's gift makes room for him.
(05:44):
Every one of you who are listening to me has
a gift, and it's up to you to find out
what that gift is. Now, David's gift for songwriting. He
wrote songs to the Lord. He was praising God. And
notice here, I'm going to read this again, Daniel, Chapter eleven,
verse thirty two. I'm going to read the last sentence.
(06:06):
But the people that do know their God shall be
strong and do exploits. Now, notice here says that know
their God shall be strong and do exploits. The Bible says,
the joy of the Lord is our strength. Now, David
couldn't have faced the lion, couldn't have faced the bear
(06:26):
if he didn't have strength from above. I believe that
the praise that he lifted up before the Lord enabled
him to have that physical strength to overcome the lion,
to overcome the bear. Let me tell you, we don't
understand fully the power of praise. We don't understand the
(06:47):
healing power of praise. And I know that the enemy
is on a campaign to destroy families, to destroy marriages.
A lot of times people who are close to us,
people and our family, are raised up by the devil
to persecute us, just say hurtful things. I've experienced this
(07:11):
within my own family, and it was really hurt people
who I esteem, highly esteemed and loved and they were
close to me, and I've seen them turn against me
and it was a hard pill to swallow. But I've
learned to praise my way through it. And as I
praise my way through it, the first thing I say is, Lord,
(07:33):
heal my broken heart. Heal my broken heart, because we
do get hurt, and we have to we have to
be real. We can't just think, oh, I'm superman, I
could take this. Let me tell you, words do hurt,
and a lot of times family members will well talk flippantly.
They will understand what direction God is leading us to.
(07:55):
They'll be persecuting us. They'll be mocking us, they'll be
disrespecting us. And it's up to us not to be hurt.
We have to be determined not to be hurt, Amen,
because if you are hurt, you won't be able to
do battle. If you are hurt, Satan has a foothold.
If you are hurt, When you have a broken heart,
(08:17):
you open the way for sickness and disease to come in.
Let me tell you, when you get heartbroken, when you
get sad, when you get depressed, that's when sickness and
disease will come in and and and destroy your life.
You've got to do it. Gets you. You got to
really encourage yourself in the Lord. You got to praise
(08:39):
the Lord. You got to have the praise of God
on your lips and thust yourself off from all that persecution.
Just thank him. You know, I think the biggest honor,
and I know that people may look at me as
if I'm crazy, but the biggest honor that you could
ever have is when people start to persecute you. You
(08:59):
know why, because that's a sure sign of evidence that
your name is in the book of life, that you're
doing something good and God is pleased, and that's why
the enemy raises up people close to you, people in
your job, people that you love, people that are close
to you to persecute you, to take that word out
(09:20):
of you and to get you weakened. You know, the
enemy if he could weaken you, if he could, especially
if you're the man of the house and he weakens you,
as the high priest of the house, he can destroy
your household. That's why you have to have that praise.
David had that praise. David had that strength. David came
(09:42):
against the lion, David came against the bear. And let
me tell you, those animals, they are strong. They could
kill you. But David was stronger. He did exploits and
then he killed the lion, he killed the bear. That's
why when he was out there, people thought he was
you know. See, he looked like an ordinary kid. He
didn't have no bulging muscles or whatever. You look like
(10:05):
an ordinary kid. But this boy was strong. He was
supernaturally strong. He was probably another Samson. And the king
Saul said, well, use my armor, use my armor. I'll
give you my armor. It's giving him tips and everything.
But the armor was too big. Let me tell you,
never use another man's armor in battle, because that's a
(10:28):
lot of times that armor is strictly for that person.
Aban not to say that you can't take no teachings,
no advice. People will advise you, people will counsel you,
and that's good. People who even teach you from the Word.
But a lot of times God will say, be original,
do what I tell you to do. Do something that
is really crazy. And David it was. He wouldn't gets
(10:51):
that giant. He didn't have no armor. He just relied
on the spirit of God. And God gave him a
plan to defeat the lion. Let me tell you, he
gave him a plan because let me tell you, he
was relying on the Lord. He wasn't relying on Saul.
He wasn't relying on Saul's armor. He looked straight to
the Lord and he had the grace in him. But
(11:14):
I want to get back again to the shepherd way
of life that David was having. He faced the lion
and he faced the bear. Now the lion talks about identity.
Know who you are in Christ and what belongs to you.
It says here again, and Daniel that do know the Lord.
(11:34):
Dear Gods will be strong and do exploits. You've got
to have your identity down pat because if you don't
know who you are in Christ, you're going to be
swallowed up by tradition, swallowed up by unbelief, and you're
never gonna walk a victorious life. Amen. So you have
to know who you are in Christ and what belongs
(11:55):
to you, Amen. And you have to have that praise
in your mouth. You have to be thanking the Lord
and pray having that praising them in your mouth. Amen.
David was being prepared in that and in the field,
he was prepared, and he faced the job. He faced
the bear, he faced the lion. God was preparing him.
And God is preparing you for your for greatness. Amen.
(12:18):
All of us, all of us within the body, have
a gift. All of us is destined for greatness. Whether
it be a pulpit ministry, whether it be a business,
you are destined for greatness. You are destined to do
great things. But the glory and honor goes to the Lord.
Never take the glory, never take the honor from the Lord, Amen,
because he's the one that deserves glory and honor. Amen.
(12:43):
So we're gonna be talking about the lion, and we're
gonna talk about the bear. The bear talks speaks to
us about finances. I'm gonna share some things that will
help you within your family finances. Let me tell you,
the area of finances is a strong strong for many people,
many people, and I think that God has a simple
(13:07):
way of getting us out of black. But we need
to be able to get out of that unbelief and
step out and believe God. Now, I'm not gonna be
raising no funds because let me tell you, I know
if the Lord, unless the Lord has me to do that,
I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna be asking
for money this and that because let me tell you,
(13:27):
I'm doing this podcast. If I could get a lot
of people to listen to my podcast, the advertisers, they'll
put money in my pocket. And I thank God for that. Amen. Now,
so I won't have to I won't have to be hearing, oh,
Pastor Caleb is taking the money of other people and
buying him. No, no, I'm just doing this the way
it is supposed to do be done. Amen. So if
(13:49):
you like listening to this podcast and not even send
me a red dime, I read censure. I say, I'll
be happy that you could listen to me. Amen, and
help support me through your prayers. Man, I don't turn
down on financial blessings. But let me tell you this
is an area that Christians need to understand that God
wants them to prosper. God wants them not to have
(14:11):
any lack. God wants them to rely on Him for
the provision that's needed. Amen, So praise the Lord. I
see that my time has now finished, so I'm just
gonna say goodbye for now. It's been a pleasure sharing
some things with you, and I hope to share some
more tomorrow. Just remember we are having podcasts Monday, Tuesday,
(14:38):
Wednesday is prayer time at life Stream and Facebook. So
I'm going to try to see if I could put
that in the Christian Corner podcast page fifty six. So
I'm going to try to put that in there. But
Thursday and Friday we have our regular podcasts, and I'm
also doing Spanish podcasts. So Praise the Lord. God is good.
(15:00):
God is a good God. So we're gonna be We're
going to be busy in this ministry. I'm thinking maybe
of stretching out into other fields because let me tell you,
there is good there's good potential in podcasting and if
anybody wants to start a podcasting business, let me know.
I'll be able to help you out and whatever I can.
(15:23):
Let me tell you it's hard work. It's not easy,
but you put your hand to the plow and God
will make it to where you could start to prosper. Amen.
I'm not making a million dollars, but I'm beginning to
see some fruit. So I do apologize for that train
that's passing by. But until tomorrow, God willing, at seven
(15:44):
point thirty, we will meet again. God bless you, and
remember you have the mind of Christ. Be blessed. Amen. Amen,
thank you.
