Greetings. The Christian Corner Ministries greets you in the name
of Jesus. We are delighted that you have joined us.
We pray that the worship and biblical teaching would help
and encourage you. Now, the next voice you will hear
is our own Pastor Caleb Santos.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord. This is your friend
at host, Pastor Caleb Santos, and I greet you in
the name of Jesus. Yesterday we were talking about the
Unknown Prophet, the Unknown Prophet of God, and we're going
to look at a couple of things, a couple of
interesting details. We have seen how he had came out
(00:52):
of a tremendous victory as he confronted the evil King Jerobowen.
And see a little background on King Gerah Bowen. King
Jero Bowen was given the ten tribes of Israel specifically
by the Lord because he wanted to call the attention
of Judah. In other words, he wanted to call the
(01:14):
attention of that king of Israel Rea Boen. He mean, see,
here's a little bit. I'm gonna give you a little
bit of background study to follow me. Okay, Now, jeral
Bowen was a man that was working under Solomon. But
God raised them up and God gave him an utterance,
a word that he was going to take charge of
the ten kingdoms of Israel. And the reason why Israel
(01:36):
got divided was because of Solomon's disobedience. Solomon had a
whole bunch of women, and Solomon was into idolatry. So
God raised up Jero Bowen to call the attention of
not only Solomon but his son Real Boen. And what happened.
Solomon persecuted him so much so that jeral Bowen had
(01:58):
a flee to Egypt. So one thing led to another.
When Solomon died, his son Rio Bohen took over, and
Solomon had since he had deviated from the Lord, he
started to tax his people heavily. He started to give
him high taxes, high tax burdens, and the people were complaining,
(02:18):
kind of much like what happened during the Revolutionary War.
America was under the authority of England the King, and
they were taxing America high taxes and the Americans revolted
because of it. The same thing happened in the Old
(02:39):
Testament Israel. Israel, the people started to revolt because Solomon
started to put high tax burdens upon his people. And
see this is what happens. See, Solomon was the wisest
man on earth. God had blessed him with wisdom. His
kingdom was unique. Everybody was happy, everybody was having prosperity.
(03:01):
But then what happened was that he got sidetracked with
different kind of women. He bought. Me he must have
had a big sexual drive, because I mean he had
six hundred wives and four hundred con combines. I believe it.
Memory serves me right. And then these women got his
heart away from the things of God and into their idols.
(03:23):
And how many times have you seen some good politicians
that started out on the right path, and all of
a sudden they start to be doing things that are
politically correct that is feasible for them to get into power,
So they start to compromise on their beliefs. Solomon was
no difference. He started to compromise on his beliefs and
(03:44):
the people started to suffer. The Bible says in the
Book of Proverbs, it says, when the wicked are in power,
the people warn So what's going to happen when a
person departs from the ways of God and the person
is wicked and corrupt. The people are not be hurting
because of some of these laws that are going to
be passed. And that's what happened with Solomon. The people
(04:05):
were complaining, so they had approached his son because Solomon
was out of the scene, he was dead. So they
approached King rob Bowen, and these are the former counselors
of Solomon, and they said, relieve the burdens that your
father had put upon us. So he said, real bow
and the king real boy and said, well, let me
(04:27):
talk to my other counselor. So he talked to his home,
to his own homies, the people that got raised up
with him, and he said, nah, increased their burdens. So
he followed wrong advice. King and Roe bow and followed
wrong advice. He refused to do what was prudent. As
a result, the word of the Lord God fulfilled. When
(04:48):
Jeroboen led the charge and he led the ten tribes
of Israel, and he split from Judah. In other words,
Israel split into two. Judith was they had one tribe
the other tribe. Well, they had two tribes. They had
the tribe of Benjamin and the tribe of Judah. The
other ten tribes were split. There were split, and that
(05:11):
split was caused because God wanted to call the attention
of King real Bowen, because he was going to use him.
He was going to use King Jeroboen. But King Jeroboen
started to go into idolatry and started to say, we
don't have to worship in Jerusalem. We could worship where
we are, and he started to raise up the golden
(05:31):
calves out idle, and this unknown prophet came out of nowhere,
and he started to prophesy onto him. And let's look
at the scriptures here. First, King's thirteenth for says the
king was very angry with the prophet for saying this
he was prophesying these things. He shouted to his guard
(05:53):
arrest that man, and shook his fists at him. Instantly,
the king's arm became paralyzed in that position, couldn't pull
it back again. At the same moment, a wide crack
appeared in the altar and the ashes poured out, just
as the prophet has said would happen. For this was
the prophet's proof that God has been speaking through him. Amen,
the altar was split, the ashes were scattered. This man, Jeriabene,
(06:18):
was an evil man. He had the people to worship
these idols, and he put pagan people, pagan priests in
charge of the worship of God. So God was angry
at Jeroben, and the prophet delivered that message. But look
at what happened. When Jerobone saw that the chips were
(06:39):
stacked against him, he started to say. In verse six,
First Kings, Chapter thirteen, Verse six, oh please please, the
king cried out to the prophet, beg the Lord your
God to restore my arm again. And I'm reading from
the Living Bible, and it says here, So he prayed.
The unknown prophet prayed to the Lord, and the king's
arm became normal again. Then the king said to the prophet,
(07:02):
come to the palace with me and rest a while
and have some food, and they'll give you a reward
because you healed my arm. But the prophet said to
the King, even if you gave me half your palace,
I wouldn't go into it. Know would I eat or
drink even water in this place. So far, this unknown
profit is standing on good ground. He's taking a stand.
(07:24):
He's not letting money or the luxuries of life blind him.
He's standing his ground. He says, Nope, I'm not gonna
do it. I'm just gonna go my way. This man
was going to give him a big reward for healing him.
And let me tell you that we need to have
pastors with backbone, Pastors that won't compromise just because you
(07:45):
have the biggest giver in your church, that you won't
compromise the beliefs that God has given you, that you
won't deviate from the ways of God. We need pastors
that have backbone that will I remember one time there
was a pastor that was sharing some of his experiences
and he said that there was a woman that gave
him I don't know about three five thousand dollars check
(08:06):
and the Holy Spirit said don't take it. And he
wanted to take that check, and the Holy Spirit said,
don't take the check. So he told her that he
was not taking the check, and the woman got very,
very upset. See, you gotta be careful because when you
serve the Lord, yes, God will give. Have people touch
their heart. God will touch their hearts and they'll start
(08:28):
to give. But there may be a time that you
may be put to the tests and the Lord might say,
don't take that gift. It may be a big gift,
but the Lord may say, don't take that gift. I
have something better for you, and you may have to
take a stamp. And this prophet, so far he's doing good.
He said, nope, I'm not gonna take anything you have.
(08:50):
This was all free. Praise the Lord, and said, this
is what he said for the Lord, verse nine, First Kings,
Chapter thirteen, Verse nine. For the Lord has given me
strict orders not to eat anything nor drink any water
while I'm here, and not to return to Judith by
the world I came on. So he went back another way.
As it happened, there was an old prophet living in Bethel,
(09:13):
and his sons went home and told them what the
prophet from Judah had done and what he had said
to the king. Which way did he go, the old
prophet asked, So they told him, quick saddled the donkey,
the old man said, And when they had saddled the
donkey for him, he rode after the prophet and found
them sitting under an oak tree. Are you the prophet
(09:33):
who came from Judath, He asked him, Yes, he replied,
I am. Then the old man said to the prophet,
come home with me and eat. This is the unknown
prophet now speaking. No, he replied, I can't, for I'm
not allowed to eat anything or to drink any water. Bethel.
The Lord strictly warned me against it, and he also
told me not to return home by the same road
(09:54):
I came on. But the old man said, I am
a prophet too, just as you are, and an angel.
He gave me a message from the Lord. I'm here
to take you home with me and give you food
and water. But the old man was lying. So they
went back together, and the prophet ate some food and
drank some water at the old man's home. And let
me tell you this man, he was an old prophet.
(10:17):
He had been probably in the ministry of the Lord.
He was a seasoned veteran. But he he fell to
the spirit of light. He succumbed to a lying spirit,
and he caused this prophet's downfall. Let me tell you
you have to be careful. Sometimes put we put on
a pedestal man of God. Oh, he's a seasoned veteran.
(10:40):
He's a great man of God. And we put him
up to almost to the place of God. But guess
what people could fall? People could be could succumb to
a lying spirit. And that's what happened to this old man,
this old prophet. He succumbed to a lying spirit and
gave this man a word that was not from the Lord.
And as a result, if you read the rest of
(11:02):
the story, the man's life got cut short by a
lion that came in his way and attack them. Let
me tell you we have to be very careful. We
have to be discerning. This prophet had a good start.
This prophet has signs and wonders. This prophet was doing
everything that he was commanded to do, but he let
(11:23):
himself be persuaded by a seasoned prophet who he probably
held in high regard, and he got deceived. Let me
tell you, any one of us can get deceived. And
this is a time, my brothers and sisters, that we
need to be careful. These are the times that anybody
(11:44):
can get deceived. So I want you to make a
commitment that you will follow the Lord and not get deceived.
If the Lord tells you to do something, stand by
what he's told you. Do as he tells you to do.
Don't deviate to the left, don't deviate to the right.
Follow the Lord's leading, because maybe there may not be
a lion that may kill you literally speaking, but there
(12:07):
may be a line of finances that that can devour
all your finances and get you into a poverty state,
get you into a homeless state. Or there could be
a lion of sickness that can cause you to lose
your health, your mental sanity. There could be a lion
of destruction that could destroy your family and get your
(12:29):
destroy your And let me tell you, there's a lot
of ways that we could give place to the enemy.
So follow the Lord's leading. Make sure you renew your
mind every day. In fact, I want to encourage you.
Start renewing your mind, Start taking time to go over
the promises of God. Start quoting the promises of God,
(12:49):
start applying the promises of God. The Bible says faith
comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Make it a habit to go over the promises of God.
Make it a habit to confess the world of God.
Let me tell you, the more you do it, the
more you hear from God, and God will start leading
you and guiding you and showing you is good and perfect. Well, Amen, tomorrow,
