Greetings. The Christian Corner Ministries greets you in the name
of Jesus. We are delighted that you have joined us.
We pray that the worship and biblical teaching would help
and encourage you. Now, the next voice you will hear
is our own Pastor Caleb Santos.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Hello, this is your friend and host, Pastor Caleb Santos,
and I greet you in the name of Jesus. Today
we're going to talk about biblical finances. The Lord has
me to talk about biblical finances and bring biblical prosperity.
Right now. With the world of the Internet, there's a
lot of people who are preaching the word. Some of
them are truly called by the Lord, and some of
(00:40):
them just went and we hear many voices, and I
just want to caution you, my brothers and sisters, not
to be confused because we hear so many voices, so
many teaching about prosperity. And let me tell you, that's
why some of you may be wrestling with a spirit
black in your household because you don't know who you
(01:03):
are in Christ. You don't know the battle that is
behind the taking of your finances. Because let me tell
you finances has his own battleground. And let me start
off with this scripture here, third John, chapter one. It
only has one chapter, and it says verse two, Chapter
(01:24):
one the third Letter to John, Chapter one, Verse two, Beloved,
I wish above all things that thou mayst prosper and
be in health. Even as thy soul prosper. God wants
us to prosper. God wants us to be in good health.
God wants us to prosper financially. Let me tell you,
when you don't have finances, your relationship goes south of
(01:48):
the border. When your finances are not their marriages break up. Amen,
marriages have broken up over over finances. People have gotten nervous,
break down. They've been discouraged. Some of them have even
turned away from God because they're angry because their finances
are not there when they need for it to be there.
(02:09):
Let me tell you it is a battlefield. It is
a battlefield. But we're gonna cut Look a couple of
things here. I want to start off with the scripture
here on Proverbs twenty seven to twenty three. Will not
start off. I want to continue with the theme of
biblical prosperity. Proverbs twenty seven to twenty three. Be thou
diligent to know the state of thy flocks and look
(02:32):
well to thy herds. And anybody that had sheep was
doing real good. Anybody that had land was doing real good.
And it was an agricultural society. But I think that
these principles apply to us in this urban society. And
I think that when you are diligent to know the
state of your flocks, you have to be on top
(02:54):
of your savings, your checking, and your investment. You have
to make sure that everything is an order, because God
is a god of order. And let me tell you,
we will give account to how well we manage our finances.
Believe it or not, God is going to call us
into account. See, we need to realize that the silver
and the gold belongs to the Lord. We're just managers.
(03:17):
We just manage his finances. He lets us have his finances.
It doesn't belong to us, It belongs to the Lord.
He allows us to be managing his finances. Amen, praise God.
But we're gonna look into two enemies that we need
to deal with. We need to deal with the lion,
and we need to deal excuse me, we need to
(03:37):
deal with the bear. The lion and the bear. The
lion speaks of identity. Amen, the lion. The Bible says
that the devil comes as a warring lion, seeking who
he made the bower. But the Word of God says
that God has broken the teeth of the enemy. So
we have a toothless a lion, a lion that has
(03:59):
no teeth. And let me tell you, how many times
do we see believers being gummed to death because they
don't know their authority and the Lord Jesus Christ, they
don't know their identity. It reminds me of the Wizard
of Oz. You have the cowardly lion, and he was
He was a coward. He will run from anything. He
was always in fear. And sometimes that's the way we are.
(04:21):
We are like the cowardly lion. We need to know
our identity. We need to know when that when the
Lion of Julith starts to roar, let me tell you
the game is over. God has has has won the
battle for us. Amen, we have a lion that lives
on the inside of us. I remember back in the
(04:43):
sixties there was a gasoline uh company I believe by
the name of not sh E s s o I believe,
and that gas company will say, put a tiger in
your tank. Amen, But guess what we have a lion
and our tank, and that's the lion of juwith And see,
(05:05):
these are two enemies that we must face, the fake lion,
which is Satan masquerading as a lion, and a bear. Now,
when you know your identity in Christ, you know that
you have a right to hear his voice. Let me
repeat it again. When you know your identity in Christ,
(05:25):
you know that you have a right to hear his voice.
You have to know that you know that you know
that you have this identity. Amen. There can be there
cannot be no ifs ands and buds. But you have
to know that you're his The Bible says my sheep me.
And you know his voice. We have a right to
(05:49):
hear his voice. And we should spend more time hearing
his voice. A lot of times we will hurt the problem.
We pray the problem, We speak the problem. You have
a problem. We have to learn how to pray the
answer instead of the problem. Amen. And that's another thing.
And when we pray the answer, we meditate on the
(06:10):
word and we pause and we start to say Okay, Lord,
what are you trying to tell me? There's times that
we need to just be quiet. See, a form of
prayer is just being quiet before the Lord. Just be
quiet for maybe ten fifteen minutes and let him get
into the habit of him speaking to you. Another way
in which you could hear the voice of God is
(06:33):
when you're going to church, and this is what I do,
and you don't have to do it if you don't
want to. And God really doesn't care what kind of
shoes you put or you have, what kind of clothes
you have going to church, but out of respect, this
is just me. Out of respect. Sometimes I will say, Lord,
what clothes do you want me to use? Out of respect?
(06:55):
And God likes that. He don't care if you go
in shorts, He doesn't care, but he wants He likes
it when you respect them. He likes it when you say, Lord,
what do I wear? What do you want me to wear?
And try it. You start to try it, and you
start to be that way and you start to ask
God for everything before you make a decision. And this
(07:18):
is something that I'm working on. Before you make a decision, pray,
pray before somebody just say, oh, this is a deal
of a lifetime. Pray, pray. Let me tell you what
may be for me may not be for you. Pray pray. Amen,
that's look at chapter five of John I'm sorry, Chapter
(07:42):
five of Luke Luke, Chapter five, verses one to ten.
And it came to pass that, as the people press
upon him to hear the word of God, he stood
by the lake of Gynesareth and saw two ships standing
by the lake. But the fishermen were gone out of
(08:02):
them and were washing their nets. And he entered into
one of the ships, which your Simons, and prayed him
that he would trust out a little from the land.
And he sat down and thought, the people out of
the ship. Can you imagine what kind of lungs Jesus
must have had. I mean, he was teaching the people
from the ship. Amen. He had no microphone, he had
(08:25):
no sound equipment. Verse four. Now, when he had left speaking,
he said, unto Simon, launch out into the deep and
let down your net for a drought, or a net
for catch. And Simon, answering, said, unto him, Master, we
have toiled all the night, I have taken nothing. Nevertheless,
(08:47):
at that word, I will let down the net and
When they had this done, then closed the great multitude
of fishes, and their net breck or it broke. And
they beckoned onto their partners, which were on the other ship,
that they should come and help them. And they came
and filled both the ships, so that they began they
(09:08):
began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell
down at Jesus knees, saying thepart from me, for I'm
a sinful man. O Lord, Now I want you to
look at this real carefully. Chapter five, verse four of
Luke says Jesus gave him a command, let down your nets,
pruru for a drought. Let down your net cruel, prurul
(09:33):
for a drought. Simon, answering said unto him verse five, Master,
we have toiled all the night, I've taken nothing. Nevertheless,
as I world, I will let down the net singular.
Do you see something unusual here? You see that Peter
wasn't listening. God had a plan for him. God wanted
(09:54):
to prosper him four above his wildness imagination. He wanted
Peter to get out his best nets. See it is
believed some theologians believed that Peter just gave him the
worst net there was see, and God wanted him, Jesus
Christ wanted him to let down the nets, his finest net.
(10:17):
And a lot of times when you are believing God
for harvest, he wants you to give the best. And see,
in the case of Peter, he said, let down your
nets for a drought. And Peter just let the net out.
And you know what, God was so merciful over Peter,
so merciful because he had a big cash. He could
(10:40):
have the Lord could have said, you've been disobedient, Peter,
I'm not gonna bless you. You're up there, You're you're
not gonna be blessed. You're not gonna be blessed because
you weren't obedient to my word. But guess what. The
grace of God covered Peter to where he got blessed.
And he had a great multitude of fishes, and their
net broke. And notice here Simon Peter verse eight, when
(11:05):
he saw it, he fell down at Jesus needs saying,
depart from me, for I'm a sinful man, O Lord,
Why did he say that Peter was not stupid? Peter
knew that he wasn't right. And let me tell you,
when the glory of God comes upon your place, upon
your life. There's signs, wonders. When the glory of God
(11:29):
comes in healing, when the glory of God comes in prosperity.
Let me tell you have to reverence that glory, that
glory cloud that comes in, You have to give it
reverence because let me tell you, when you start not
reverencing God and the presence of God is there, there
can be some serious consequences. And Peter recognized them and
(11:51):
he said, depart from me. I'm a sinful man. See,
he could have said, forgive me, Lord, I missed it.
Everything would have been cool. But he said, depart from
me from a sin. For man he didn't forget. He
must have felt bad, he must not have forgiven himself.
And let me tell you, there's some of you listening
to me that you've committed a sin and you still
haven't forgiven yourself, a sin that happened maybe years ago,
(12:14):
and you still rehearse it. You still say I'm a
sinful man. And sometimes it keeps you from getting having
a closer walk with the Lord. But guess what, Oh,
guess what, Look at this, Look at this thing. Don't
miss it, please, because if you miss it. You're gonna
miss the mercy of God, the grace of God. Of
(12:35):
Luke Chapter five, verse nine. For he was astonished and
all that were with him at the drought of the
fishes which they had taken, at the load of the fishes.
And so was also James and John, the sons of seventy,
which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said, unto Simon,
fear not. From henceforth out shall catch man. Notice he said,
(12:58):
fear not, fear not, Peter. I'm not gonna I'm not
gonna condemn you. I'm not gonna put you in hell
because you disobey. I am gonna get you to the
next stage of your life. This is a new This
is an ending and a new beginning. Your days of
fishing is over. You're gonna fish for men. Notice how
(13:18):
he brought the analogy of fishing and put it and
put it into the spiritual. He says, you're gonna be
fishing for men. He said, Peter, your time as a
fisherman is over. There's a new beginning. You're gonna be
serving me in ministry. Amen. And that's what the Lord
did give him, And he gave him a prophetic word.
(13:39):
Peter was looking to get away from the Lord, and
God had a prophetic word for Peter. He said, fear not,
I'm not gonna castigate you. I'm not gonna condemn you.
I'm not gonna send you to hell. You are going
to be a capture of men. You are going to
enter into your next phase of ministry. But each ending,
(14:01):
there is a beginning. For each ending, there is a beginning. Amen.
And God had a beginning for Peter. And we see
that when we look at the lion, which speaks of identity.
It is important that we understand that we have the
mind of Christ. It is important that we understand that
the greater One lives in us. It is important that
(14:23):
we understand that we are his sheep and we hear
his voice. We have a right to hear his voice. Now,
let's look at the theme of the bear. The bear
now in the stock market. And I'm not an expert
on the stock market, and I know a little bit
of it, but I'm not an expert, but I do
know that there's two types of market. There is the
(14:44):
bear market and the bull market. The bear market is
when making money is almost impossible. That's what you call
bear in fact, when something is hard, they say that's
a bear of a problem. But when it's a market
that means everyone's making money, everyone's making money, or well
(15:05):
most of the people are making money. That is called
a bull market. And let me tell you, in life,
we have a bear market. And there is something and
I want to listen to me. I want to have
an analogy here, and this is gonna bless you. In
the stock market, you have people, especially with futures. They
(15:25):
have a call thing called futures. Now, the stocks is
not I mean, we could invest one dollar two dollars
in stocks and that's cool, and then maybe we'll see
whether stocks are headed headed for. But in the futures
there's a thing called futures and there and there it
is regimented by government, federal laws. And you have people
(15:48):
that have insider information on where a certain future stock,
a stock that's in the future it is going to go.
They have that knowledge and what they do they assets
that knowledge, and it's illegal to have that knowledge. But
people do it all the time. They do it all
the time. People in Wall Street they get that insider
(16:09):
information and sometimes they bribe officials, they look the other
way and guess what, They start making money until eventually
catch us up with them and they get put in jail.
But guess what in the bear market of life. See
see I've already illustrated the bear market in the futures,
in the stocks and the insider information. But in the
(16:29):
bear market of life, when you don't have the money,
when your wife or husband is fighting with you because
of the lack of money, when you have relationships being severed,
when you have meant to torment because of the lack
of money, guess what we have insider information. The Holy
(16:50):
Spirit knows everything. Greater is he that is in us
than he that is in the world. He's the genius
that lives inside of us. Will speak to us. He
will tell us where to get that money. He will
even give us a way to create wealth. Amen, let
me tell you the Holy Spirit knows everything. He's the
(17:11):
genius that lives inside of you. Hallelujah, Praise the Lord,
Praise the Lord. I'm getting excited now. That is the
bad part of life. Amen. We have the inside of information,
which is the Holy Spirit. And let me tell you
a bear comes to devour. But let me tell you
the Lord Jesus is greater than that bear. And let
(17:33):
me tell you, just like David killed the bear, just
like David killed the lion, we could kill the bears
of our life, the lions of our life. We could
kill it. Amen. And with each ending there is a beginning.
Notice that when David killed the bear and when he
killed the lion, his destiny as a shepherd boy was
(17:53):
being completed, and he was gonna move into the second
part of his destiny, which was greatness as a king,
a king, and the throne of Israel. And he had
to meet his goliath. Amen. There were obstacles. There were
great obstacles. David faced obstacles to being a king of Israel.
He had to go through a goliath, and he had
(18:14):
to face the persecution of King Saul. But let me
tell you, David enjoyed the fruits of battle, the spoils
of victory. And let me tell you, be not afraid
of testings, because when you win a test, when you
win a battle, there are spoils of war. There are
spoils of war. And when those spoils of war come,
(18:37):
you look back and say it was worth it. God
designed us, all of us believers, to be problem solvers. Amen.
We are destined to be problem solvers. Never forget that.
So I wanted to share some thoughts about looking after
the flocks, the flocks, over your flocks, over your finances,
(18:59):
and let's read that again. Be thou diligent to know
the state of thy flocks and look well to thy herds.
God wants you to prosper. Be very careful how you
manage your money, because in the long run, you're gonna
be accountable to the Lord. And know you this that
the two the enemies that you have are under your feet.
(19:19):
If you keep on looking towards the prize, looking towards faith,
looking towards the victory, God is going to take you
from glory to glory to glory, and then you're gonna
find that you're gonna end one part of your life
to start a new beginning. Let me tell you, God
is the god of new beginning. He gave a new
beginning to Better, He ended his days as a fisherman.
(19:40):
He gave a new beginning to David, he ended his
days as a shepherd boy. And who knows, maybe the end,
the end of your destiny, the end of of that
part of life will come. And God has another wonderful beginning. Amen.
He takes you from glory to glory to glory. Amen.
I'm not afraid of new beginnings because God is with you,
(20:04):
and God will see to it that you have the victory. Amen.
So that's all I needed to share with you. God
bless you. Remember you have the mind of Christ. Be blessed.
