Speaker 1 (00:05):
Greeting. This is your host and friend, Pastor Caleb Santos,
and I am so excited at the word that God
has given me to share with you. So prepare your
hearts to receive a very special blessing. Praise the Lord,
Praise the Lord. This is Pastor Caleb Santos Again. I

(00:27):
welcome you to this podcast of the Christian Corner Ministry.
We are going to talk about, first of all, was
Jesus Poor. We're continuing our series on the fact was
Jesus indeed poor? Because let me tell you the answer
to that can determine your financial deliverance. If we have

(00:49):
a picture of Jesus being homeless, of suffering hunger, of
having not enough, guess what you're gonna see yourself thinking, well,
out on deserve to live in a nice house. I
don't deserve to live to have a nice car. I
don't deserve to have a well paying business. Because Jesus
was poor, he was hungry, he was destitute. And let

(01:12):
me tell you, far from that, Jesus was very well supplied.
He was very well taken care of by the Father.
So I hope you listened to my podcast Was Jesus Poor?
Part one? We had a lot of interesting insights, especially
comparing Jesus with Adam. If I'm just gonna give a

(01:34):
quick review, Adam had everything a man could ask. He
had health, he had a perfect wife, he had real estate,
more real estate than Bill Gates. And because of one
simple act of disobedience he had hi him and his
wife had eaten of that forbidden fruit. Everything went topsy turby.

(01:59):
And let me tell you, he lost his authority. He
let me tell you, God had given him the earth,
but when he fell into sin, the earth came into
uh into the hands of Satan. Satan was was known
as the god of this world. He had authority over Adam,
and he could have killed him had it not been

(02:19):
for the mercy of God got into being and started
to do a series of sacrifices until the second and
last Adam, which is Jesus Christ, came on the scene. Hallelujah.
Died for us, died for our sickness, sins and disease,
and was made poor that we may be made rich. Now,

(02:40):
if you want to find out about that said that thing,
listen to my podcast. Yesterday's podcast. I go into detail
how Jesus was made poor, that we may become rich.
Every one of you who is called to the body
of Christ, every one of you who has been born again,
has a has an extensive bank account. You are rich

(03:03):
not only in the blessings of God, but financial blessings.
And it's right there waiting for you in heaven. The
reason why you don't have that prosperity is because it's
like like, for example, when you have a trust, the
child cannot have that trust until they're twenty one years old.

(03:25):
The same as the inheritance that God has for us.
We must be mature to get that prosperity. Now we
move ahead of God, we could see prosperity, but if
we're not prepared for it, it can destroy us. The
Bible says that prosperity shall destroy the fools. The fools
are destroyed with their prosperity. Take the example of Lot.

(03:48):
He was overrun by greed. He took the best of
the land, but he wasn't able to handle that prosperity.
He wasn't able to handle the authority that was given
to him when he sat by the gate. When the
Bible said that Lot sat by the gate, so he
had a certain level of influence he had a certain
level of authority, but he just went with the flow.

(04:11):
He wasn't prepared to handle the prosperity, and it almost
killed him and his family. Amen. It really affected his
wife too. His wife looked back and became a pillar
of stone. So let me tell you prosperity, it involves
a big responsibility. The Bible says to whom much is given,

(04:32):
much is required. That's why God wants us to be patient.
God wants us to grow. God has not given us
all of a sudden prosperity so we could just quander
it on our own. Nuss, He wants us to be
He's not against you having a nice house. He's not
against you having a nice car. You know, my minister's,

(04:55):
my colleagues, the people who are in the ministry, especially
Jesse the Plantis and Kenneth Copeland. People get mad because
they have their own jets and they're into this. Listen,
I don't care if God has blessed them, that's between
them and God. As long as they're not embezzling the money.
I don't care. God blesses you with these things. And

(05:19):
we got to get over the fact that God wants
us to have the best. Now me personally, I'm not
gonna buy no jets. I'm not gonna buy myself a
ten million dollar home. I like to live conservatively and
I like to use my money for the glory of God.
In fact, if I could, I would give most of
it away and just take whatever I need to supply

(05:41):
my knees. But that's just me. I'm not gonna condemn
my brother's sister that wants to enjoy the prosperity of
God as long and as it doesn't have their heart,
As long as they're not overrun by greed, I could
care less. And we need to get to the place
that we see Jesus being fully equipped, being taken care

(06:03):
by the father. You got to realize that Jesus had
a carpentry business. At one time, he was helping his father.
He was a tiger. And let me tell you that
Jesus had a prosperous business. Poverty, And as I explained
it yesterday, poverty is actually a curse. And Jesus, let
me tell you why he walked on the earth. He

(06:24):
managed to be able to live comfortably and his ministry
was very well endowed. Think about it, when he preached
to the five thousand people. Let me tell you that
took even in those days, it took a lot of
logistics and planning and money. So this is something we
need to shake off our unbelief and shake off tradition

(06:48):
and get to see Jesus as the Bible paints him
to be victorious overcoming. His disciples were well supplied. Let
me tell you he had a treasurer by the name
of Judith. His ministry was raking in a whole bunch
of money that the disciples wasn't even noticing it. But

(07:08):
Jesus notices it. He noticed it, and he covered for
Judas because they wanted to give him time to repent.
But Judas was stealing money from the ministry. You don't
have a well if you have a ministry and you're
really having black and barely getting along, and then you
don't have much money. Let me tell you what. If
Judas was stealing, it would have been noticed by his

(07:30):
fellow disciples, and Peter with his violent temper, would have
chopped off his head. No, it was so prosperous that
Judas started saying, well, he won't miss a couple of
money here and there, he won't miss this he won't
miss that. They were really prosperous. They were making money.
They were very well endowed. Get that out of your mind.

(07:52):
Jesus was not poor. He was well endowed financially. Amen,
Praise God. We're gonna listen to a selection, and then
we're gonna pray, and we're gonna go further on. Was
Jesus poor? This is one of my favorite songs, and

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Praise the Lord. I hope you were really blessed by
that selection. Let's go to the throne of the place
because I have a lot of material here to choke
out tradition and unbelief that I'm not in line with
the word of God. Amen, let's pray have a father.
I thank you that you are good God, and Father,
I pray that you give me the words, the knowledge

(11:50):
the wisdom to share what's in my heart, the message
that you have given me for this hour. Father, help
us to see you as you want us to see you,
that you want us to see your son walking in victory,
walking in victory, walking in abundance. In the name of Jesus.
Help us to receive your work. Give us a spirit

(12:10):
of wisdom and revelation in Jesus' name. Amen and Amen.
All right, Let's start with Luke chapter two, verse seven.
And the reason why I'm starting with this is because
people will start to argue, well, Jesus was born in
a farm. He was born with some animals there, and
they were poor. His parents were poor. Well, is that right.

(12:33):
Let's look at Luke two and seven. We're gonna find
out what the word says. This is when Mary came
and she gave birth, and she brought forth her firstborn
son and wrapped them in swallening clothes and laid them
in a manger. Manger because there was no room for
them at the end. So they were in a farm,

(12:55):
and Mary gave birth to that farm. But guess what
it is, because there was no room for them at
the end. They had no room for them at the end,
Joseph had the money, but nobody would give them a
room for them because there was no room. So she
had no other choice to be. And that farm and

(13:19):
that place where the major were, where the where the
animals were, I think in a farm a farmhouse that
are farmer mercifully and by favor of the Lord allowed
them to stay there. And that's where she gave birth,
not because he didn't have any money. Now, granted, there

(13:39):
was the time when Joseph and Mary were going through
some financial hardships because if you look at Luke chapter two,
verse twenty one to twenty four, and when eight days
were accomplished for the circumcising of the child. His name
was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel
before he was conceived in the wound. Now, circumcisision was

(14:02):
a ritual that was mostly practiced in the Old Testament,
and the males were partakers of that circumcision where they
circumcised their penis amen. And that's what happened with Jesus.
He was circumcised after eight days. Now eight this is significant.

(14:22):
Eight is the is a new beginning. It's symbolic of
new beginning. And he was circumcised. They went through the circumisition.
But guess what. Let's look at verse twenty two. And
when the days of her purification according to the law
of Moses, was accomplished, they had to wait a certain time.
I think they had to wait about forty forty days.

(14:46):
They brought him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. Okay,
and as it is written in the law of the
law the Lord. As it is written in the Law
of the Lord, every male that openeth the wound shall
be called holy to the Lord, and to offer a
sacrifice according to that which is said in the Law
of the Lord, a pair of turtle doaus or two

(15:07):
young pigeons. So something happened within forty eight days forty
nine days according to the days after she had to
wait for her purification after she had given birth. Probably
I'm just guessing forty eight days forty nine days. They
went through a period of hardship. You know why because
notice verse twenty four. The sacrifice that they sacrificed was

(15:32):
a poor man's sacrifice. Usually they will bring a lamb,
an expensive animal, but they have brought a pair of
total doves or two young pigeons. Okay, So they were
really struggling in their finances. But guess what in the
midst of the struggle the number eight. Pay attention to eight.

(15:52):
They must they might have been going through struggles, but
guess what joy cometh in the morning. And there was
going to be a new beginning, and the midst of
their struggle, the Bible says, he makes the bitter water sweet.
So Joseph, yes, they go through some hardships, and yes
they did go through. See the thing about it is

(16:13):
nobody's immune from going through financial hardships. And Joseph went
through financial hardships. But guess what happened, Oh glory, hallelujah.
Guess what happened in Matthew chapter two, verse eleven, and
it says here and when they were coming to the house,
they saw the young child would marry his mother, and

(16:35):
fell down and worshiped them. And when they had opened
their treasures, they presented unto him gifts gold and Frankinson's
and mirror. Now, notice I'm going to give you a
background on what happened. Okay, Jesus most likely was about
maybe close to two years old. He might have been
the one to open the door to the to the

(16:55):
three wise men. Now people, you know, people think that
they're three kings. Uh, But they were and and and
I'm not saying that they were three wise men. They
say they The Bible doesn't say that there were three
wise men. The reason why they think is three is
because of the gifts that they offered him gold, Frankenston's
and mirror. It could have been one, it could have

(17:16):
been three, it could have been five. Nothing is definite
how how many wise men came to see Jesus. But
there was wise men that were seeking him, and they
were they they were very well endowed. They. In fact,
it is believed according to some theologians that they that
they gave him like a king's ransom of gold. And

(17:38):
when a king opens his gold chest to you your
set for life. So he had gold. Frankenson's was also
a valuable commodity, and mirror. All these things. Let me
tell you the new beginning started when when Joseph was
going through when Joseph was going through hardships, when he
couldn't give a decent offering, but they gave what they had,

(18:01):
They gave what they could. There was a new beginning.
And just when it got from bad to worse. God
blessed them with the visit of the three Wise men,
and they opened their treasures. They were said, let me
tell you a lot of people think that Joseph took
that gold and fled to Egypt. Joseph was not an embezzlor.
He was not an embezzlor. Let me tell you Jesus

(18:24):
was set for life. Joseph's business took a whole new turn,
and he probably invested it, and he probably had tremendous
success in his business. Hallelujah. And he'll do the same
for you when you're going through financial hardship, when things
are just getting worse, stay your ground, praise the Lord.

(18:45):
Don't lose your praise because you are pregnant with the
birth of what God has promised you. The Bible says
that all the promises of God are yay and amen.
And when you're about ready to birth that promise, you
need stre The joy of the Lord is your strength.
And when you start to praise them no matter what,
and to give whatever you can and to stand strong

(19:08):
in the Lord, God will start to bless you. God
will start to hear you, hear you God. You start
to have and breakthrough in your prayer time and in
your prayer life. Amen, you will see the breakthrough of
the Lord. Hey man, praise God. I preach myself happy. Now,
let's look at Luke chapter Let's look at let me

(19:32):
see here are you looking up my notes? Here? Let's
look at Luke chapter nine. This is something that a
lot of people will will say. Well, yes, that's all good,
Pastor Caleb. But what about Luke nine fifty eight when
it says and Jesus said, unto them, foxes have holes
and birds of the airs, half ness, but the son

(19:54):
of man has not where to lay his head. See,
I caught you there, Pastor Caleb. Jesus was homeless. Jesus
was poor. I got you there. What you're saying doesn't
hold no water because Jesus was homeless. But you haven't
read the whole thing, my brother or sister. Let's look
at Luke nine fifty two fifty three. This is jee

(20:16):
this is the word of God. And sent messagers before
his face, and they went entered to a village of
a Samaritan to make ready for him. But they did
not receive him because his face was as though he
would go to Jerusalem. Jesus was going to the city
of the Samaritan, to the village of the Samaritans, and

(20:38):
they did not receive him. It's not because Jesus was homeless.
It's because he had no other place to live or
to stay. Should I say he had no other place
to live, He had no other place to stay. He
couldn't lodge at the hotel because he was not received.
It was like years ago, probably more than maybe fifteen
or twenty years ago. Brother Copeland. He had an interesting

(21:01):
study on the sin of homosexuality, and he's worth them
to do an expers say about it. But one of
the channels that he was in UH and Washington, d C.
Thought that was that it was a controversial matter and
no matter how much money he had, he could not
transmit that program of homosexuality. So what he do He

(21:24):
started to get together with his staff and form the
Victory Channel. Amen. When life gives you a lemon, you
make lemonade. Amen. Brother Copland did not give up. Let
me tell you, a lot of people don't may not
like Brother Copland because they think he teaches too much
about prosperity. They even compare them to the devil. Be careful,
my brothers and sisters. Brother Copland is one of the

(21:47):
biggest givers there is. And let me tell you there's
people that will and that will fight to fund his
his ministry when he comes to town. There's even ministers
to fight fighting against each others to fund his ministry
because he's been Uh. He's a blessed man. He's a
blessed man. He has helped me personally in my life.
He has helped us in our life when my wife's

(22:09):
and my life and the and the life of my wife, uh,
and finances. I've learned a lot from Brother Copeland. Be
very careful when you talk about the servants of the
Lord Amen, very very careful. I know that they're not perfect.
A lot of things are being revealed nowadays, but I'm
not gonna be a partake of it. I'm just gonna

(22:29):
pray for all these things that are being revealed. But
let me tell you, this is not a time to
play play church. This is not a player time to
pray play pastors or teachers of the Word or or
let me tell you, God is exposing, He's exposing. He's
not playing around. And these people that think they're high
and mighty, that they're never gonna fall. They're gonna fall,

(22:51):
They're gonna find out that they're gonna fall, and somebody
else is gonna take their place, because God doesn't play. Amen.
Remember that all right. Now, Let's look at Mark, chapter fifteen,
verse forty one, and I'm going to read this verse here.
This is Jesus who also when he was in Galilee,

(23:12):
followed him and ministered unto him and many other women
which came up with him onto Jerusalem. Amen. What this
is talking about is that Jesus was being ministered by
the women in Jerusalem. Amen. Women were ministering to Jesus.
In other words, that were ministering to him food and finances,

(23:33):
the word ministry minister. In fact, let's look at verse forty, Chapter,
chapter fifteen, verse forty, and there were also women looking
on a far off, among whom was married Magdalene and
married the mother of James, the lesson of Josephs and Salomon,

(23:53):
who also when he was in Galilee, followed him and
ministered unto him and many other women which came up
onto Jerusalem. Women were ministering to Jesus. They were feeding him.
The word ministered means caring financially and with food. Jesus
wasn't hurting for finances. Jesus was not out there homeless.

(24:16):
He was very well provided by women and his partners.
He had ministry partners who were supplying his needs. Amen.
And did you know finally that Jesus had bills to pay. Yes,
Jesus went through some financial hardship. Let's look at this
chapter here, chapter seventeen of Matthew Versus twenty four to

(24:40):
twenty seven. And if you hear some something in the background,
my wife happens to be cooking, So I do apologize
for that noise. Matthew, seventeen, twenty four to twenty seven.
And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received
tribute money came to Peter and said, does not your
master pay tribual? In other words, they ask them, doesn't

(25:04):
your master pay taxes? Verse twenty five. He said he
saith yes. And when he was coming to the house,
Jesus prevented him, saying, what thinkest thou, Simon, of whom
do the kings of the earth take customer trivial of
their own children or strangers? Peter said, unto him, of strangers,
Jesus said, unto them, they're not the children free. Notwithstanding

(25:28):
least we should offend them. Go down to the sea,
cast a hook and take up the fish that first
cometh up. And when thou hast opened his mouth, thou
shalt find a piece of money that take and give
unto them for me and thee. Notice here Jesus had
a tax bill. They confronted him about the tax bill.

(25:49):
So Jesus went through a time of testing. But Jesus
knew what to find the finances Verse twenty seven. He
told Peter, Peter, use your talent. We're going to get
out of this. Use your talent. Go out to the sea,
cast a hook the first fish that cometh up, and
when you open his mouth, you shall find a piece

(26:10):
of money that take and give unto them for me. Indeed,
Jesus wasn't just looking to supply his need. Jesus was
looking to supply the need of Peter. Peter had a
tax bill, so he also cared for his disciples. And
let me tell you, the Bible says a man's gift
makes room. And this is where wisdom comes about. When

(26:33):
you're going through a financial problem, when you're going through
some testings, guess what you need to seek the wisdom
of God. What the Bible says, wisdom is the principal
thing you need to find out your gift. Let me
tell you God has endowed us with with skills, with abilities,

(26:53):
and let me tell you what this is a time
that you can even learn and you skill because there's
even free training that you could take in the internet.
Let me tell you seek the Lord, seek his gifts.
Because when you seek the gift that God has given you,
you will start to prosper and you start to call attention.

(27:14):
And Peter had a gift. He knew how to fish.
So he said, Peter, use your gift, take up the
fish that comes up, and we'll get this tax bill
all taken care. Jesus gives you wisdom. Yes, you're going
to go through Jesus' parents went through financial hardship, but
there was a new beginning. There was prophetically a new

(27:34):
beginning for them, and Jesus went through some testing. He
owe a tax bill. But Jesus showed Peter how to
use wisdom and how to use the gift that was
endowed to him as a fisherman. Because praise the Lord.
So I hope I clarify some of this controversial teachings
that Jesus was poor. Jesus was not poor. The only

(27:57):
time he became poor was when he died the cross,
when he was stripped naked they were playing for his garments.
There another sign that he was very well endowed as
far as using nice clothes. Let me tell you he
was naked at the cross. He was poor. You know
why because he took the curse of poverty and blessed

(28:19):
us with finances, with financial prosperity. And if you read
that chapter, the Second Corinthians, chapter eight, it talks about
money and God wants us to be prosperous. God wants
us to be prosperous, but he doesn't want money. To
have your heart Praise God. So God blessed you. And

(28:39):
I just want to let you know that I really
really enjoyed being with you. We're going to be resuming
our teaching Monday. I'm going to take off Friday and Saturday,
and I'm going to do my Facebook streaming on Sunday,
and I think I might do the Spanish one too
on Sunday. But we'll be back on Monday. God willing,

(29:02):
so God bless you. Remember you have the mind of Christ.

it could be of any help. The Victory corner at
