(00:21):
get some green. Hey, everybody, welcome to Queen Comedy Podcast.
It's Jad and it is It is almost midnight in Wisconsin.
I'm just back from a show on Monday night. I
recorded this because I forgot to record a podcast, but
I never ever ever want to miss a podcast, So
I'm recording this to kind of give you a background
on everything that's happened, where we're going, what's going on.
(00:43):
So this tour of this rough stretch leg that we're
on started last We left last Thursday from Burbank and
became land in Chicago and drove up to Wisconsin. We're
staying in Wisconsin and we're doing shows there and then
we leave Wisconsin on Wednesday. So the day after you
(01:04):
hear this Wednesday, and to fly to Minnesota to do
three shows in Minnesota. And uh, it's been an interesting
run because a lot of things have happened. First of all,
where we're staying is like a really small town. It's
really cute. It's kind of off the beaten path, but
it's kind of close to everything, but not close to everything.
Does that makes sense. It's like hour hour and a
half for most things. It's fine. We did a bunch
(01:25):
of breweries, and we also did the Kenosha Comedy Club.
So Kenosha, uh, you know, famous for some stuff that
went down back in the day, and so we went there.
We did commotion Kenosha Comedy Club, and then we went
to Sheboygan the next day. And uh, we're told by
the people of Sheboygan that Sheboygan is the Malibu of Wisconsin.
(01:48):
And my first thought was, do you not know what
happened to Malibu? Right? Don't compare yourself that way. It
was a weird It was a weird thing to hear
somebody say we're the Malibu of west And I was like,
I don't think that's true. First of all, I don't
think that's true, but okay, sure, So we did that
and we did. We did Madison today and then we
(02:08):
have Cedarburg, Wisconsin tomorrow, and so it's been going good.
We've had pretty decent shows. I've had some good turnout
actually in Milwaukee. Shout out to Bob. Shout out to
Bob and Milwaukee who came out to see the show
and said he didn't know who Zain was, but he said,
I can't. I listened to your podcast and I came
to see you, and honestly, that was the nicest thing
(02:29):
that he would said to me this entire trip. And
thank you, Bob, You're amazing. I gave him a fat
Fonsie sticker. If you're following me on Instagram, you probably
have seen it on there. If you're not following me
on Instagram, what are you doing? Go to Instagram, Go
to at JD Creviston and follow me on Instagram. I
expect there to be at least like five people follow
(02:49):
me tomorrow. Because this I know that not all of
you are following me. And here's the cool thing. If
you do follow me on Instagram, you'll notice that I'm
going to start uploadings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So
it means Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be clips on
Instagram and YouTube shorts and probably read it and then
hopefully with a little help from my smart daughters TikTok,
(03:15):
so they'll be going up there. And then Tuesday the
podcast obviously and Thursday substack. So you're gonna get a
lot of content for me every single week except for
Saturday and Sunday, where I need to be charged and
relax and rest. And so we have this run and
then we fly back home Sunday to be home, and
I'm home for like ten days or something like that,
(03:36):
well dad to rest, and then we have a big
run throughout June, and then July is off. I have
July off when I'll be going up to San Francisco
for a week with my family, and then I'll be
going to Grant came in with my family as well
for like another week or so. So well deserved vacation,
well deserved relaxation. Very excited about that. Will not miss podcasts,
(04:01):
by the way, there will still be podcasts up there.
We're doing a lot of stuff, also doing some retooling
of the podcast. We'll see what's gonna what's gonna happen.
I've kind of talked to Seth about this, so he
knows he's not caught off guard. And then when I
get back next week, I will have a podcast recording
with Seth and we'll have an updated episode with Seth.
So don't worry about that. But it's really been interesting
(04:23):
this run, just because this area is so unique. It's
kind of it's kind of Midwestern, but kind of kind
of Northern. I guess, I don't know. I don't know
they'll have the right way to say it. Everyone's very nice,
(04:44):
don't get me wrong. Everything, all the shows are great.
People are great. It's just a very interesting way that
like they drive. They drive like they're from New Jersey,
if that makes sense to you. But they also drive
like every day is Sunday. Right. It's like a weird
nick the way they drive here. It's super funny. Everyone's nice.
Cheese curds everywhere. I've had cheese curds and pretzels everywhere.
(05:07):
I've had lots of sausages, which is great because that's
like this place. Honestly, if I lived here, I would
easily be three hundred pounds in a month, no doubt
about it. I had Lauden Yeager today. If you don't
know what that is. It's like a German smoked meat.
I had some of those today and then I also
bought a package to take home with me. But I
have two packages of cheese curds that take home with me.
(05:28):
I have meat sticks that I bought for myself to eat.
And it has just been It's a great place. There
is a place that we drove by that was called
like the Magic Cheese Castle or something like that, and
I was like, okay, you know. And then I drove
past another place today that was the Cheesehaus, which is
supposed to be house obviously, and it was just interesting
(05:48):
and I was like, man, they really love cheese up here.
But this is America's dairy land, right If you go
up here, it's a lot of dairy, a lot of stuff,
a lot of more rolling hills than I thought I
would be. I had never been to Wisconsin before. I
had been to Chicago. I've been to Illinois, I've been
you know, kind of over over around there, but never
to Wisconsin. So it was really cool. Although the only
the whole time I've been here, I was thinking of
that seventies show, which doesn't actually take place that the
(06:12):
town then now I'm just going blank does not exist,
like the real place for it does not exist. It's
not a real city. It also made me think a
little bit of Waynesborold for Milwaukee, if you know that joke. Milwaukee. So,
and it actually isn't Algonquin by the way I looked
(06:34):
it up. It's doesn't really mean the good land in Algonquin.
It's like a different Native American language. It was very interesting,
So just keep that in mind. And I also learned too.
But I don't know how many of you care about
this and me talking about it. But so Chicago and
Milwaukee are both on the same lake, which I believe
(06:54):
is like Michigan if I remember correctly. And it's kind
of interesting because you know, Chicago gets known for that
and kind of Milwaukee gets overlooked for it. We all,
I think we all assume it's like an inland city
or whatever. But no, it's like right on the lake too.
It's been cold here, warm here, cold here, warm here.
Where we're at it is buy really beautiful river. So
I walk that every day, try to get ten thousand steps.
Actually I get my ten thousand steps today. I'm gonna
(07:17):
do that live. But you get there. Now, I'll tell
you on my second day of getting I got twelve
six and ninety eight steps today, So it's great. So
I feel happy and good about myself. And at the
end of tonight's show, I hate I bear with me.
This is very embarrassing. We're leaving the brewery, we're packing
all this stuff. There's all these like bugs, all these
(07:39):
giant bugs flying around or whatever, and I'm like, what
are these? Like, Oh, they're lake bugs. I'm like lake bugs.
I'm like, yeah, there's lakes everywhere. We're in Madison, Like,
there's lakes everywhere. As I'm talking to somebody, a bug
flies into my mouth and down my throat. It got
stuck in my throat. I could not cough and get
it out. So along with all the other things I've
eaten here, I've also eaten a bug. So great, fantastic.
(08:01):
But that's kind of the update there. Go make sure
you check it out, Zaye Lamprey dot com. If you're
not following me on Instagram at Jadiekreviston, go follow me.
And here's the thing. If you follow me on Instagram
and you want a fat Fonzie sticker, let me know
where you are I'll find a way to get one
to you. I have them. They're great. I'm actually gonna
go to the Bronzie Fonsie that is in Milwaukee and
(08:24):
take a picture that'll be on my Instagram hopefully Wednesday
or Thursday. So we're gonna we're supposed to do on Wednesday,
so hopefully well gone posted on Wednesday, but with traveling
and whatever, I don't know. So just so we're gonna
go take a picture with the Bronzie Fonzie. So that's exciting.
And yeah, that's what's been going on. It's been crazy.
I got paid by a comedy club. I did breweries.
(08:45):
We're looking at more comedy clubs, more breweries. Also, if
you live somewhere and you want to see me perform
with Zaane, Zane will come too, obviously see us perform.
Let us know what's around you. Shoot me an email,
Shoot me an email at I think it's James D.
Creviston gmail dot com and shoot me an email and
let me know and maybe we could figure out a
(09:07):
place to go, because we've got some openings after our
breaking in July that we're trying to figure out. So
if you live somewhere, go look at Zane's website. Go
look at Zane Lamprey dot com. Go see we're at
And if you know a place in that area and
there's days missing, say hey, we'd love this place is cool.
I go to this place, whatever it is. I go
to this brewery, I did go to this comedy club.
I whatever. Tell us, let's find some more places we
(09:29):
really want to grow. And again Bob coming out in Milwaukee,
shout out to you again Bob and saying I came
here to see you means a lot, you know. So
that's amazing. You know I've stold a ticket as a comedian.
That makes me feel really good. Bob made my day.
He was very nice, by the way. I don't think
we took a picture together, and now I feel bad
(09:50):
about it. I'm sorry, Bob, I owe you. So just
one of those things where this has just been a
great experience and a learning experience for me. It is
been easy and hard at the same time, if that
makes sense. Like days were just like, oh man, I'm
crushing that comedy, and then some nights w aroun I'm like,
I am terrible and why do I do this? And
(10:11):
that drive home after those kind of shows and it's
not that the crowds bad or anything, just I didn't
feel like I gave the performance that I that they
deserved or that I it was capable of. And so
it's really funny how that works tonight where there was
a smaller crowd, but I literally gave them everything I
possibly could tonight. I did not want to leave them
(10:32):
feeling like they got short changed. You know, Monday night,
not a lot of people. But I was like, you
know what, I don't care. I don't care that it's
not one hundred and fifty two hundred people. You know,
I'm going to still give you guys the same show
that I would give to two hundred people one hundred
fifty people. It's just one of those things. And so
I was very happy that I could and very happy
that people came out. So shout out to you guys.
(10:55):
The Mother's Day we are. Mother's Day show was Sunday.
Mother's Day was smaller than we expected because we forgot
it was Mother's Day. And so things like that happen
all the time. I mean, we had a situation in
Colorado where it was Game seven Avalanche, Game seven Nuggets,
and we are competing against that for a comedy show.
So that was rough, you know so just just think
about that. And that's the hard part about tourist. You
(11:18):
can plan all you want, right, but you don't know
who's going to make it in the playoffs. You don't
know what teams are going to be there, you don't
know what towns are behind those teams, or would rather
watch sports than come out to comedy, or oh you
forgot that Mother's Day was on May eleventh, and now
you're doing trying to do a comedy show, and nobody
came out because they're why they're celebrating with their wives
(11:39):
and their moms, you know so, and they're not gonna
come to comedy. The don't want to bring their mom
to comedy. So it was it was very interesting, but
I'm very grateful for people who'd come out, people like Bob,
people who listen. I appreciate every one of you that listens.
Please go make sure you're following me on Instagram. I
really really could use it. It would be great share
it with other people. If you like stuff that's on there,
(12:01):
they'll be getting more and more clips. So at Jadie
Creviston on Instagram, I appreciate it. Go check out YouTube.
If you don't follow me on my YouTube, the shorts
will be on there too, and we're gonna get a
TikTok hopefully. So thank you all for listening. I really
appreciate you taking time out of your day to listen.
I hope that you have a wonderful rest of your
week and I'll be back with Seth next week and
(12:23):
we'll have talk to you soon. Have a good one bye.
