5: Cooking in the Time of Corona

It has become very apparent over the past couple of days who knew how to cook before Corona, and who has been thrown into the deep end with nothing but a shoe, a can of chickpeas and some pears. Shopping, cooking and food-prep has become increasingly difficult as weeks go on and shelves become emptier, so we reached out to someone in the know for a little support.

Esme, a friend and Archeologist, inspired us daily with Instagram posts of her solo cooking escapades, so we gave her a call to check-in. She took us through how to shop strategically and make the most of basic ingredients as well as how to get creative with what’s in your fridge and the importance of wine. She also shared a few online resources and reminded us of the calming and cathartic experience of taking the time to cook and bake.
