artist named d L K Selfful EDM. He has released
a wonderful news single which we are so proud and

(00:22):
so happy to play exclusively on iHeartRadio. It's called Joy Anthem,
and it is indeed an anthem for joy. What a
beautiful title, Joy Anthem. That's exactly what we need. And
what we also need is the wonderful artist himself, d L.
K selful DM, who is with us today over the phone.
How are you today, sir?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
I'm good. I'm good, glad to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Glad to have you. So can you please tell us
where you're from and how did you stop music?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
That's a good question. I'm actually from New York. I'm
a native New Yorker and what happened is in my
teen years, my family moved over to New Jersey, So
I just moved across the water there. Uh. But yes,
I'm in the Tri State area, That's where I'm from.
And uh, I started music. Music has been a part
of my life from the from early on. Even living

(01:14):
in New York, uh, you know, walking around the city,
you hear the I used to always hear the Spanish
music coming from the Mudegas, and so music has always
affected me, been a part of me. But when my
family moved to New Jersey, we joined a church here
in Jersey and that's where I actually started playing instruments.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
And then from then on, I believe your passion never
never stopped. So what is First of all, the name
is in d l K cult Ward d M. Can
you tell us what does it mean? And where is
it from?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Sure, So basically my name or my own issues are
d OK and and I'm glad to actually ask this question.
So what happens. I am a music producer, so I
write and I produce music, which is my passion. And
what I've done is I've looked through all the music
that I've done over the years, and I begin to

(02:11):
as I'm putting out new music, I kind of like
did some history, some digging back, and what I realized
is that there were certain genres that I produced music in.
Social em was one of the genres dance house. You know,
that was one of my foundations. So what I did
is created music brands based off of the type of
music that I create. So my DLK Soulful EDM is

(02:32):
my EDM, my house music, my tech, no, everything regarding
that genre of music that I produce, that's the brand
for it. So it's called DLK, sofial the.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
DM and beautiful, beautiful, ID and very creative. I must say.
New track that you blessing us, I should say called
joy Anthem. Joy Anthem tell us the story of that
song and what it's about.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Oh wow, wow, Well we know what about. It's definitely
about joy. That that is one of the things that
I wanted to emphasize there. I wanted to have a
a reminder of you know, for people to reflect on
those joyful and happy moments. And also with the with
the with the d M feel and the beat behind it,
I wanted to also encourage dance and movement. We as

(03:21):
a society, uh you know, we're often times uh so
attached to our electronics and our devices. So you know,
getting up and dancing and moving around is very helpful
and I think it's something that's definitely needed these days.
As far as the origin of the song, that's it.
That's an interesting question. Actually, the song has a long journey.

(03:41):
It originally started out to be a a remix that
I was doing for a gospel house gospel dance artists,
and after we worked on it for a little bit,
things fell through with the with the management team and
then and the people that they were working with. So
the song actually got set on the shelf and I

(04:02):
said I would revisit it another time. And what happened
is one of my DJ friends came along and he said, Hey,
I got an artist I want to do something with.
And I just pulled the song off off the shelf
and I let them hear it and they were like, okay,
well we'll work with this song. It sounds good. And
that fell through. So after that fell through, I decided,
you know what, I'm just going to put this out
because it's a great song. I think it has a

(04:24):
lot of potential. And that's that's how it got released.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
And congratulations again for this beautiful track, which we really love.
A beautiful track again, joynthem Joy and that's what we need.
You know, the more you repeat Joy and Them, the
better you feel, you know.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
The more joyful. Right, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
It goes, It goes directly to the point you know
where it hurts, I should say, you know it heals.
It's a song, that's exactly what it is. Wonderful artist
d l K soul full edm is with us. So
before we start to play your Alliens track, can you
tell us what is next for you? What are your

(05:05):
your next projects?

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Oh wow, I got a lot going on, so we're
pretty busy. As I mentioned, you know, I have the
different music brands, and actually, I guess the next next
thing I should drop right now, let you guys know,
is that we have a different version of joy Anthem
coming out actually through my other music brand, d ok Lounge,

(05:30):
which is the same joy Anthem, but it's from a
lounge perspective, so we actually have a saxophone player playing
throughout the song. So it's a beautiful, beautiful track, beautiful
version of the joy Anthem movement, and that actually is
in the process of being released as well. So we
have a lot of stuff going on.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
And a lot of beautiful things is coming your way.
I have that feeling and no matter what, we'll be
there to support you and we'll be there to applaud you.
