Speaker 2 (00:45):
Thank you David, how are you? Thank you for having
me on listen.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
It's really my pleasure, it's really my honor, so thank
you to you as a matter of fact, So I
really appreciate that. So first question I would love to
know can you tell us how did you start music?
Where you from? What is your path?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
So I'm based in London. I've lived in London for
a long time, but I'm originally from Manchester. I don't
know if I'm sure people in New York have heard
of Manchester in Northwest England.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Of course.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, so I start I was born and raised there
and started my musical career when I was about nineteen
and I originally started off singing and working and writing
with a lady called Lisa Stansfield who went on to
international success. I'm sure many people have heard of Lisa Stansfield.
(01:38):
She did a song called all Around the World. Yeah,
she's very big in the United States as well. So
that's really where my career started, yeah, when I was
like nineteen twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Well, indeed that Lisa Stanfield is one of the greatest
artists of all time. Really, she's absolutely amazing in her
do it with Barry is one of the best things
I've ever heard. So congratulations for all the great things
you're doing. So now, first forwarding to your new track
called It's No Saying, tell us the story of that song,
(02:14):
tell us the process of it.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So you know, I went through some dark times I
have a lot of other people in recent times, and
I just wanted to write a song that sort of
expressed how a lot of people are feeling and it's
not a sin to enjoy your life and feel good
about yourself. And I think you can sort of hear
(02:37):
that in the in the lyrics as well. Yeah, it's
no sin to dance with life. We'll hold the key.
So just just be a happy person and just try
and do your best. And that's the kind of message
I wanted to get across because that's how I was
feeling at the time, because I've had a bit of
a bit of a rough patch in my life, and
I wrote it to make myself feel good and I
(02:59):
think I achieved that. And I hope that whoever hears
it and plays it, I hope it makes them feel
the same as well, because that's my intention.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
We totally agree with you. So who are your your
music influences, the artists who have inspired you the most
to put together your own music.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Well, despite the production of my latest my latest song,
I'm really into two sixties soul music and all the
sixties and seventies artists of a soul Obviously, my absolute
idol is mister Marvin Gay. I just idolize him as
an artist, as a writer, as a singer, Ray Charles
(03:41):
Barry White of course, all those Etta James, you know,
Gladys Knight, all those kind of singers from the sixties
and seventies have had a massive impact on me and
my music and they inspire me and they're they're my
true inspirations, so theyre my they're my musical go tos,
you know.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
And we love, of course the audience that you have
definitely mentioned. So before we start to say goodbye to
each other, what is next for you?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Well, I've been in the studio putting some new tracks
down for a new album which hopefully we'll get released
early next year. So we just put this track cap
the new song out now, it's not Sin, which is
done really well on Spotify and stuff. It's getting some
nice little streams. And I think we're going to put
another song out in late September, which is a very
(04:32):
sort of funk, soul disco inspired song which mister Nile
Rogers heard actually and was very impressed, So just dropping
a name there. He heard the song, was very impressed
and it was it's kind of a homage to him
and his music. So we're doing that and then hopefully
the new album will come out early next year. So yeah,
(04:54):
if your little gigs planned around in and around London
and the UK, and yeah, just take it and see
things go. Really fingers crossed.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Well yet you can, you know, cross your fingers. But
your music speaks for itself because thank you, beautiful, beautiful music,
and we're so glad to have you today. The one
and only David fair Nowadez who has released this great
new track called It's No Saying. How is the music
(05:24):
scene in London these days?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
The music city in London has always been absolutely incredible.
I mean it really has. And yeah there's some great
great young bands around, some young singer songwriters as well,
which which actually they they they really inspire me too,
which is it's nice. I've met quite a few of them.
I did a gig a few weeks ago at a
festival here in London and there's some great artists on
(05:50):
of all the different genres. It's really the music scene
here in London is very, very healthy and it's thriving,
which is which is great for all people who involved
in the music industry.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
It's good to say, and it's good to see you also.
