Ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon, Welcome on the Culture News.
My name is David, So we broke and have the
pleasure to have to down I Heart Radio on the
Culture News a wonderful, wonderful artist. The name of these
artists is Leon Brave. Let me spell it for you.
It's l Yo n like the sitty in Friends and

(00:21):
Brave be our avee. The name of the song is
called My Universe and this is an absolute, beautiful, beautiful song.
We're so glad to feature it to the on iHeart Radio.
My Universe is actually an inspiring anthem that encourages women
to embrace the authentic selves and not settle for nless.

(00:45):
We love that. Right now, without any further Ado, the wonderful,
the one and only Lion Brave Lian, how are you today?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I'm doing wonderful. Thank you so much for having me
with you. You have an amazing speaking voice.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Ah well, that that means a lot. That means a lot.
Thank you so much to you. So first question I
have for you, Liam, can you tell us where are
you from and how did you start music in the
first place.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I'm an American CITIZENID I was born in the USA,
in a America has a pretty awesome music scene. I
would say that most Americans enjoy music. So I was
just always around music.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
And indeed, we can tell that music is part of you,
part of yourself, part of your your beautiful, beautiful soul.
So who are the music audiences who have inspired you?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I shall say, Well, growing up, I was exposed to
a lot of the Jackson five. You know, they were
running like a lot of Jackson five movies on TV
when I was growing up. And you know, Michael Jackson,
Janet Jackson, his family was super famous in the USA.
Michael Jackson is still one of the most influential artists

(02:04):
of our a time. I would definitely say Michael Jackson
is a very inspiring artist because like one, he's an
amazing performer, like some say he's like a pop experiment
that's gone wrong. Like, well, one, he's an amazing performer,
but two, he's a very American artist who had to
deal with, you know, racial struggles in America, and so like,

(02:26):
I'm also a woman of color, just like Michael Jackson
was a man of color. So I find a lot
of his music to be you know, globally empowering, and
I can definitely relate to Michael's.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Work, and indeed, it's so beautiful that you mentioned this
incredibly talented artist who has definitely changed the spectrum of music. So,
now fast forwarding to his great new track of yours
called My Universe, can you tell us a little bit
more about that song? Why did you want to write it,

(02:59):
what did you want to perform it? And also what
is the story of it? What is the message?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So My Universe is a song that I recorded over
a year ago at this point, and I sort of,
you know, just started recording new music, but I listened
to it recently and it's it's actually a really good song.
It's really good for women, it's really good for children,

(03:27):
you know. And then you know, the music space changes
from genre to genre, from decade to decade, and you know,
I do like to get into the hip hop rap
space and take some control back of the narrative, because
like there can be a lot of toxic music in
that space towards women, you know, like just objectifying us.
They're calling us pitches and hosts. And you know, I

(03:50):
get his music and I get it. It's creation, but
it does influence a generation. So I wanted to take
back some of that space and use it for like
just more humble messages in regards to women, teaching them
that it's okay to keep your body to yourself, that
you know, you don't necessarily need to be I call
it your cookies, ladies. You don't need to be letting

(04:11):
men reaching that cookie jar. You know, you can be
a little bit more humble with your sexual identity coming up.
And you know, just like music is a part of culture,
so with sex is a part of the culture, and
what kind of emphasis we deal with. The media puts
more attention on it, and I think it's important that
girls have a lot of awareness, confidence and self respect

(04:33):
around their bodies.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
So I just wanted to put that in the music
space a little bit and you did it beautifully, and
as a man, I thank you for that song. It's
a very beautiful, beautiful song that is where everybody and
aside from its message, it's it's a beautiful song and
that we want to hear that, we want to listen

(04:57):
Leon Brave, my universe. What a beautiful song. So before
we start to say goodbye to each other, what are
your your next project? What is next for you?

Speaker 2 (05:10):
So I in the same regards. I would like to
put out some kids music actually, like Baby Shark was
a hit, I would. I actually have a song out
right now called the Angels. I just released it, and
the lyrics are like I feel so small, I don't
feel taller, I feel invisible, like the angels only know
the goodness in my soul. And originally those lyrics I

(05:32):
started writing them for kids, but I like sort of
developed into.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
A gospel song. But I would like to.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Strip it back down to a kid's song and do
like some kids music that's you know, helps them to
get confident, confident and comfortable in their little bodies too. Yeah,
so I'm always going to be creating new music, but
I would like to specifically do something for the kids,
because you know, we're about to go back to school.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
August is right.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Around the corner.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
And and and congratulations for your beautiful music and for
the person that you are. Your wonderful latest release, My Universe,
a beautiful song. But the talented musician fears advocate for
female empowerment. The wonderful Lean Brave Lian Brave. We love

(06:22):
that woman, absolute, wonderful, wonderful person. Ladies and gentlemen, my
name is David, so I have the pleasure to have
to tell night Heart reading on the Culture News the
very talented Lian Brave for her new song called My
Universe and you can start to hear it play right now.
Is my Universe by Lion Brave, statuned form of music.

(06:45):
