(00:00):
Good afternoon, Welcome on the CultureNews. My name is David Sebibro,
and I have the pleasure to havetoday on iHeartRadio a fantastic music artist.
His name is Fan fe N.He's absolutely wonderful and he has released a
new single, and I said,newsical it's a new hit, a new

(00:21):
track, wonderful new track called Hero. Thus, what you're going to feel
like a hero when we're going tohear that song right now over the phone
is the wonderful artist, mister FanFann. How are you today? Hello,
David, thank you, thank youfor inviting me, and I'm feeling
great. Actually it's really really anhonor. So what's funny is that we

(00:47):
both have the same native language, which is French. But you know,
I kindly agree to do it inEnglish for our American audience. So I
appreciate that from you, you know, thank you, no problem. It's
a pleasure for me, wonderful. So so it shows that you studied,
you know, you learned another language, which is cool. So the first

(01:07):
question I would love to know iswhere are you from and how did you
start music? Actually, so asI as you said, I'm fan and
I'm I'm a passionate music artist. And I'm based in Brussels actually in Belgium,
and yeah, that's I'm in Belgium, in Europe center, Central of
Europe actually, and my music isa mix of various influence, you know,

(01:34):
and ranging from from pop, Rand B and soul. And actually,
when you say I'm speaking English,I'm also writing in English because my
track Hero is in English. SoI love I love English actually, and
I feel that English loves you aswell, because you have such a great

(01:55):
sensitivity and such a great artistic Whatit is when you are using the English
language. You know, sometimes wewrite better not in our own language.
We feel it's too personal. Perhapssomehow we connect better with another language,
I guess. But you're doing sogood in it. So now let's pass

(02:15):
forward to this great new track calledHero. What the title means for you?
And also what is the story aroundthat song? Please? Hero?
Actually, just to tell you wherethis coming, this song is coming from.
Actually, it's it's coming from mydreams. So a certain moment I

(02:38):
was sleeping and suddenly I've received fromout of the blue, I would say,
a melody and also Hero telling methat it's Hero. So when you
receive these kind of things, youjust have to wake up and to record
it as soon as possible, otherwiseyou lose it and you forget it forever,

(03:00):
you know. So and the dayafter I started already directly in my
home studio working on that song. And yeah, this this hero theme has
came to me directly out of theblues, I said, And it was
quite logical to write, to writethat, and actually it's it's telling the

(03:23):
story of a common hero of everyday, you know, like a nurse
for me is a hero working hardto heal people in the hospital, or
just someone you meet in the stairssmiling to you and you you get ready
to start your day, And forme, it's already a hero. So

(03:45):
everyone can be a hero at hisscale. And that's for this common hero
that I've written that that song.Actually, well it's so inspiring and you're
so true, you know, you'reso right. We can be actually a
hero for everybody if we just puta smile and goody. So it is
so inspiring. So now tell meabout you know the process of the song,

(04:09):
like how do you work usually,do you work with other producers?
Do you play the instruments? Likewhat is your process usually, you know,
I have to tell the story fromthe beginning. Everything started with the
pandemic. The pandemic brought challenges forartists. You know, it was a

(04:31):
lack of revenue for performances there isno performance anymore, as you know,
but also new challenges, sorry, new opportunities for us. During this time,
I wrote and composed many songs exploringpop, soul and fank and so
on, and I had the changeto collaborate with an exceptional music musical director

(04:55):
to arrange my tracks, leading tothe creation of my first pandemic album,
Life is So Beautiful at that timein twenty twenty one, and this album
marked a major phase of in mycareer, reflecting my artistic artistic growth,
and many of these songs actually frommy last two album schemes to me in

(05:17):
dreams as well, and not onlyheroes. So my artistic process start with
the melody I worked. I workthem in my home studio, I create
a mockup in my studio, andthen I go to my artistic my musical
director, and we think about thismelody is good or this arrangement could be

(05:43):
improved, and then we start workingtogether to arrange my tracks. That's more
or less in two words. Actuallyit's more complex than that, but two
words that the process of creation untilproduction. To answer to a question,
yes, I'm working and I collaboratewith a lot of people. But for

(06:06):
me, the crucial guy who isvery important for me is my musical director,
who who advised me in the directionof the of the track. But
everything is controlled by by myself. So the melody, the lyrics are composed
and written by myself. Wow,I love that. First of all,

(06:29):
I think you're the best English speakingperson in Belgium, you know, you
know, we have a lot oflanguage for real. So but you said
something right, you know, youhave no idea. How many musicians have
told me that during Kobe they startedto write more songs, or they improved,

(06:51):
they started to learn, you know, computering with music and learn new
instruments and go to a new style. So somehow it brought you know,
of course they had devastating you knowissues from me, but it brought you
know, some some ideas to others. So I'm glad it benefited you somehow.

(07:13):
So before we start to play yourwonderful track, Hero, this is
the wonderful artist fan f and whatis next for you? What are you
doing next? And how can peoplefollow up with you? Yeah, before
talking about next, let me maybetalk about my my current work, which

(07:33):
is the Yeah, my current trackwhich is a Hero, but the album
will follow which is also Hero. That the name is the same as the
track, which include a lot ofsingles, and this album represents a deep
exploration and for me, a verybig experience of production. And it continues

(07:59):
that journey started with Life Is SoBeautiful, my previous album, and it's
a it's a natural continuation of thatalbum actually, and that showcase is my
ongoing evolution as an artist. Uh. And Hero is the album I've always
dreamed of writing and producing actually fromthe beginning of my career. And the

(08:22):
support from listeners and media has beenoverwhelming with my music reaching over with my
previous album over six million streams inthe platforms, which for me, which
is great, and I hope itwill be the same for for my my,

(08:43):
my, my album Hero and formy upcoming things. I'm just thinking
about performance. Performing is foreign artistsis crucial because that's the moment you prove
you are not only a producer, but you are also former and I'm thrilled
to announce that I have a lotof dates, unfortunately not in US,

(09:07):
but in Europe, already in Belgium, of course, in France, possibly
in the Netherlands, and I'm justnegotiating a couple of performance in Italy as
well. And yeah, it's ahonor to present my show at such a
protigious event and I can't wait toshare my music with an enthusiastic audience.

(09:33):
That's wonderful and we will definitely bethere to applaud you and support you,
and we hope you're going to cometo perform in the US, but at
least your music can travel to theUS. And with so, ladies and
gentlemen, my name is David Sowe wrote I had the pleasure to have
to do on iHeart Radio the verytalented artist fan f N with this new

(09:58):
track called Hero. I want tothank you, dear friend of ours name
Chris Stuff from DeWitt, who actuallyintroduced me to your music. So I
want to thank him, because everytime someone you know brings you some great
artists and some great time, wehave to thank our hero, right,
So I want to thank you Christophfor sure. So right now, the

(10:20):
moment you've been waiting for the songhero by the artist Fan. More music
