Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon, Welcome on the Culture News.
My name is David Subibro, and I had the pleasure
to attend last night the red carpet and the award
ceremony of the prestigious New York City International Fashion Film Festival,
directed and founded by mister Pedro Roberto. I also have
(00:22):
the pleasure to interview him. He told us a lot
about the future fashion film festival and what is a
great fashion film festival. We thank the wonderful Noralo Lord
for introducing us. So what is exactly this festival and
where did you find the need to create such a
(00:42):
film festival in New York City.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Well, there are fashion festivals around the world, and I
was like, if you're your city is the capital of fashion.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Why don't we have won. We need to create one.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
We have the biggest fashion people here in New York
and it is new it we.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Need to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
And then I put together a lot of friends and
talkas that I have in the business, in the fashion
business and in filmmaker, and we started it last year
and this year we're doing the second edition and we
can know believe how many submissions we got from all
over the world. We have more than five hundreds. The
official selection is sixty fashion films from twenty different countries
(01:23):
and tonight we want to see that winness in twenty
two different categories.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Really foul.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
So what is for you a good fashion film?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
When a good fashion film for me has to have
at least three three important things. One, you have to
show fashion and fashion you can define it by yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Fashion is your clothing. Fashion is your.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Hair fastun need your makeup fast, You need to choose
Fastuon is whatever you want to do with it. Second,
you need a storyline. Why do you want to create fact?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
You have to put a.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Little bit of your emotions there. Some people do or
something because they want to field powerful with padgeon. And
also you need to promote fashion brands. There are fashion
designers out there that they want to promote their brands.
While we have such a media, we create content for
social media, we create videos all the time.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
And if you have all those elements together, you're going
to create a very powerful film that is not going
to only show fashion.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
It's gonna show your heart and it's gonna transport all
the everything.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So how do you see the evolution of fashion films
and the difference between a fashion film and fashion on film.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I think there is a huge evolution, especially with technology.
In the past, you couldn't think about having fashion films.
Of course you had fashion on films. For example, we
have all the Bourbone from the Golden Giers and how
fashion and beautiful ty was and that was like a
(02:56):
way from filmmakers thrown designers to show on films fashion princess.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Right now everyone has.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
A phone and your phone can't shoot film, and if
you can't, it's a huge difference because everyone have the
power to create their own fashion, and that's what you
get competitive because everybody can create it.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
You only want to.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Choose the best and the best, and you get better
the better each.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Toa So we're so happy to have you. I want
to say that we are now on the red carpet.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
So that's why it's a very noisy and very crowded.
So grateful that you are with us.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
So what is going What is next for you? Before
we say goodbye to each other? But why can we wish.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
You well right now?
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Is that right away after tomorrow we're gonna start getting
ready for the next year.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
And this is something that is going to be annal.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Last year we started it, everyone was asking when it's
going to be the second one. Now we're doing the
second edition and we're gonna continue growing for the next edition.
Speaker 1 (03:55):

so happy to have your congratulations.
