B O U R S The Harpers. They have released
a new EPI called are We Nearly There? And believe
me they are there. They are at the right place
and you also at the right place. Lis said to
us with this great new single of them called Scarlett,
(00:42):
and they are.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Joining us all the way from the UK. We say
hello to all of friends over there. The one and
only two band members Onie and Will. How are you, gentlemen?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Hi's everything very good, Thank you very good, Thank you
for having us on.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Will, how are you?
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Great? Great to be on here again, lely to speak
to you.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Very excited all right, indeed, thank you very much you guys.
So let's start with Olie. Can you tell us a
little bit. Where are you from and how did you
start music?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, we are from a small county called Leicester in England.
In the middle of England and Will and I met
at university and Will played the guitar a lot. I
didn't play too much, and after a few nights of
him playing guitar, I got into it and we started
writing songs together. I've always enjoyed it growing up, but
(01:38):
Will really got it out of me during university.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
We love that. And what about yourself, Will, what is
what is your journey until joining this band?
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Well, music's kind of been a part of my life
the whole way through, but it really took off probably
when I was about sixteen years old. I picked up
the guitar, taught myself a few cards to some old
Oasis songs that I was into, and yeah, it took
off from there. Went off to university, as Ollie said,
and we started writing together and that collaborative energy really
(02:13):
just made things take off for both of us. And
we've carried on that journey and we're now here with
our first EP.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
And we love that and congratulations again. So tell us
about this new EP. What was the process of making it?
What are the songs that we can find on it?
Including Scarlett? The name of the EP is called Are
we nearly there? Let's start with only Please. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
So up till about four months ago, we'd released five
or six singles onto all platforms, and we thought, what
better way to sort of sum up our first year
as a band then get an EPL and we worked
hard on it. We're in the studio for a while.
A few songs got cut and added last minute, so
there's five tracks on the EP and we're really proud
(03:03):
of all of them and have proper music videos and
photo shoots along with it, which was a new experience
for us, but one that we loved. So yeah, we're
very happy that hopefully you guys will have a.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Listen exactly what about yourself will? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:17):
I mean, it was a really fun process for us
to sort of make a collaborative body of work. We
wanted it to represent the sort of feeling of a
road trip or a sort of a journey, going on
holiday with your friends, with your family, summer vibes, and
I think we did really well to capture that energy
in it. I think you'll hear that for every song.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
And indeed it is a beautiful piece of music, beautiful EP.
We cannot wait to see and to hear more of
you guys. This is the music band The Harbors. Can
you tell us where the name of that band is
coming from?
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Any of you? Yep? So when we met at university,
when we formed the band, we wanted it to have
a link back to university and there was an old
drinking game that we used to play together with some
of our other friends called Harbor, and we thought what
better way to include it in the Harbors.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
And indeed it is a beautiful choice, definitely choice we
will remember The Harbors were so glad to have the
music member the band members with this new EP called
are We Nearly There? So now let's talk about this song, Scarlett.
What did the song represents? Let's start with you will.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Well, we were really inspired during our formative years as
a band by a band called Viola Beach. There are
a small British bands just on the way up and
unfortunately they underwent a tragedy that meant they lost their
lives just as they were reaching the peak of their powers.
So we sort of wrote this song using some of
their song titles in the chorus and combined it into
(05:03):
the energy of a summary upbeat tune that hopefully they
would have been proud of to show their inspiration on
us and yeah, it's definitely one of the most fun
songs we've ever played live and it's had a really
good reception so far.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
And talking about live music, Olie, do you guys have
some live performances have coming?
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yes, so over here the festival season has just come
to an end, so we've had some of our biggest
gigs playing at festivals all over the country and we're
hopefully on a little tour towards the end of the year.
So nothing being released yet, but keep an eye out
on our social media and there'll be some stuff released
(05:47):
for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Well. Will we be there definitely to support you. So
before we start to say goodbye to each other and
we start to play your wonderful new singles from your
new EP called are we nearly there? What is next
for you guys? Only?
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yep, it's getting colder and colder over here in the UK,
so that means we're back in the studio recording new
music which hopefully guys will hear again in the future.
And yeah, a few at all and some new music
and yeah, keep growing from there.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
What about yourself?
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Will we just want to sort of use this momentum
from our EP and keep growing, keep pushing forward, bring
out something that's even better next time, surprises our audience,
impresses our audience again, and yeah, we just want to
share our music with as many people as possible.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
What we love well, Will we be there always to
support you and to promote your great music, to play
your great song. We really enjoyed this new EP of
yours very beautiful ep. Are we nearly there with this
new track? You're called Scarlet, Ladies and gentlemen. My name
(06:59):
is David So I had the pleasure to have to
don't I holt with you on the culture and used
the wonderful band music band from our friends in the UK,
the Harbors. And right now you start already to hear it.
This is Carlet playing right now stationed with us. It's
