Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon, Welcome on the Culture News.
My name is David Siro and I have the pleasure
to have today on iHeart with you on the Culture
News a wonderful, wonderful aulist. He has released a great
new track, great new song called Devotion of a Lifetime,
(00:21):
and it is really what we call devotion this start,
this is fully devoted to his beautiful music. It's a
Spanish house dance track and yes it is a love song.
We are so glad to have this extraordinary audienst that
goes by the name of xavier E xavier E with
(00:44):
the capitol E. Check out his website xavier E that net.
But right now you don't need to go anywhere else
because we are so glad and lucky to have over
the phone xavier E Xavier How are you today?
Speaker 2 (00:59):
I am great, David, thank you so much and for
having me. I'm super excited to do this.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Well, listen, it's an honor, and thank you for your
energy and thank you for creating this beautiful music. So
you know, I'm just saying to people this is very important,
is that when they listen to the track, because we're
going to play the track at the end of that interview.
Make sure you keep your if you are in your car,
(01:26):
make sure you keep your two hands on the wheel,
because as soon as you listen to the track, you
want to move, you want to dance, you want to
shake it up, you know. So you have to stay
on the road and you have to drive safely, okay,
because this is a phenomenal track. So you're you're you're
making us very happy. So thank you xaviy here. So
(01:47):
first question is who are you in?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Where are you from?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Well, David, I am a Greeting nominated artist. I started
out in the music industry a little over ten years ago.
I've been with many record labels. I dropped things independently.
I'm signed with a independent record label currently right now
in Canada, l FLD, who I've had the pleasure to
(02:12):
work with. They're great collaborators with a song that I'm
collaborating with them currently. I'm originally from New York City.
I lived there for many years. I went to an
acting school. I went to Juilliard originally for a theater.
Then I kind of slipped slipped into music, left music
for a little bit.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
And then came back.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Now I'm in Los Angeles releasing songs like this. So
this song used to be a song I released. I
released the song originally with Atlantic Records. They actually it
did really well then, but I brought it right back.
I wanted to give a little Spanish flare to it,
like a hybrid song, so I did this. And this
(02:53):
song has been remixed by like DJ's like today so
and his remix is doing very very well. So if
you heard that song, you better keep your hands on
the wheel because you will definitely go off the road.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
This is well said.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Well, congratulations on all the great things you have done.
Who are the music audists who have influenced you? Because
the first thing that really comes to me when we
hear your music, but also when we see you on
social media and all the interviews, is that you're the
full package if you allow me. You're not just someone
(03:29):
who stays in the studio, but you're so very visual,
you know, and being with your music three hundred and
sixty degrees. So I was thinking you were influenced by who,
because I feel it's pretty wide.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
My influence is definitely why.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Like I said, I'm definitely older than I look and
up here, but like of course Janet Jackson. I met
her years and years ago, and she gave me the
best advice ever. She told me, do not listen to
what other people's say about you, and do not worry
about what other artists are doing. You're your own artists.
And of course Madonna, then Lady Gaga, do do a lipe.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Amuka Kelly. Uh.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
These are people that I've met, that I've interviewed with,
but they've they've always influenced me, like I've always been
influenced by dance type of music. So and then of
course the list goes on. There's so many great artists
out there, and I'm trying just to be my own artist,
but of course there's always some influence from someone else
coming from somewhere.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Well, I love that, I love that, and I feel
some Lady Gaga, so if you allow me to to
to to feel, you know, to say, it's I love
the music videos, I love all the great things that
that you're doing. It's very colorful and in the good,
the good way, you know. So we we love that,
(04:53):
and we need artists like you to remind us that,
you know, music has to be also positive, and we
really really love what you do. So now fast forwarding
to that great new track of yours, you put a
little you know, mamasita effect. You know, it's great Spanish
(05:13):
house gens track Devotion of a lifetime. What is the
story of that song that year?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Well, the story Originally the song was written for my
mother to my father, because my father was really sick
at one point and she had to take care of him,
so she took him home.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
She didn't want to put him in a nursing home.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
He was that sick, so she and when she was
taking care of him, I thought to myself, God, wow,
I wish I could meet someone that would devote their
whole life to me, like this is till death to
his part, this is this is their wedding valves, but
people are actually she's actually doing it.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
So I wrote the song for her.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
But then, of course as the years went on, it
took on a whole new meeting. Of course I met,
I met somebody, and then it sparked me to revamp
the song. But like I said, I wanted to have
that Spanish audience. I mean, I am Puerto Rican, but
unfortunately I don't see Spanish. But I wanted to have
(06:10):
that Spanish flare to it because I wanted to reach
out to different cultures, which which it did great. Because
I'm doing extremely well in like Brazil and Mexico and
overseas because of this new flare. So that's what the
song is about. Now, it took on a whole new meeting.
Now it's a whole new love song about two people.
(06:30):
But honestly, it could be whatever people want it to be.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Indeed, and that's what I love with your music is
that you make it very universal and even though you're
talking about specific people, anybody can connect to it. That's
really the grande door you know of an artist, is
that anybody can identify with this music. So it's a
(06:55):
really really beautiful track, which we really love. Devotion of Lifetime,
We really love that. So what gives you the desire
to add that little Spanish house dance flavor?
Speaker 2 (07:09):
So I record with the infamous Sweet Rain Records in
New York City and Bass Studios in Chelsea. I've always
wanted to do a some sort of foreign highbred song. Unfortunately,
like I said, I don't speak Spanish, but and my
friends in New York a lot of them speak Spanish,
but none of them can actually write music in Spanish.
(07:31):
So when I had the opportunity to actually, when I
actually had the opportunity to actually write a song like this,
I found someone who actually write and sing a little bit,
I was like, you know what, I need to do this.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
So that was my inspiration.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
And plus the whole like meeting somebody and the whole
like being in a different place in your life where
I wasn't ten years ago to compare where I am now.
That kind of sparked it for me. Like for me,
inspiration comes in many different forms, and I have to
be inspired to write something, and I was just inspired.
(08:05):
So I decided, you know what, this is the time
my previous single secrets did extremely well before this one,
So let's let's do.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
This and and let's do this that that's what I
love the most about you is let's do it. You know, uh,
this is an extraordinary, extraordinary new track and wonderful audience.
So he has a website. As I said, it's exavier
e that net so exactly inspelled it. It's x A
(08:35):
v I E R. It's a French name. By the way,
Exevie is some very exevy here e the letter E
exavier E that net and of course you can follow
him on social media on Instagram It's xavier E Official
and you will see he's quite a sensation.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
You know.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
He's giving a lot of great advice, great tips, and
this is just a wonderful person. He is a Grammy
nominated Academy Recording artist and he has also a great
podcast which I cannot wait to hear, even though in
the way he is a competitor out No, I'm kidding,
(09:17):
So never before we play your beautiful new track and
we say goodbye to each other. What are your next project?
Speaker 3 (09:25):
What is next for you? Well?
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I have a so two of my songs have been
picked up by a Netflix for two Netflix movies. So
actually this song and a song that recorded a few
years ago, so we're working on that. I have a
music video coming out for Devotion of a Lifetime, so
we're trying to coordinate with Netflix to either it's going
(09:49):
to be part of the movie or I'm just going
to do it separately, but either way, the video is
coming out in February. And then I also have a
brand new song coming out called Feeling Alone. This I'm
recording with Sweet Rains as well. If you guys don't
know who Sweet Rains is. They are very infamous for
doing Billboard type music. They've won many Billboard Awards. So
(10:12):
I'm blessed to even know them and be able to
work with them. So and then I have, uh, I
have a few other collaborations coming out as well with
with other artists.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Well, I hope you will tell us your secret to
have that much energy and to stay that young all
the time, you know, that's you know, I want to
know what you're drinking, you.
Speaker 3 (10:33):

Speaker 1 (10:38):

great people great time and such as yourself. And I'm
so grand that some of my colleagues journalists, even though
(11:05):
I don't consider myself like a journalist, but they're writing
also about you in the field the same way than
we do. So this is so.
