Yeah man, it was a great speech.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Shout out for her for a great campaign. And uh,
you know, when you don't get too deep into that,
but we have, we've already had our conversation about that.
But thank you so much, Vice President Harris, and keep
on keeping on and y'all keep keep.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Hope, alized, no doubt, keep hope alize.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Man. Well, welcome back, man. I'm sorry, y'all. We we've
been missing, all of us have been missing for a
couple of weeks. Life just started life and kids getting
you know, graduating, and yeah it's all right, kids playing
sports and you know, just stuff. Man's life, work stuff.

(01:39):
So it's good to be back, man. I hope y'all
missed us, because we missed y'all. I want to give
a shout out to the I know it's good to
have you here, because I want to give a shout
out to to the Dodgers for winning the World Series.
I know this was as you all twisted up like
a prenzial man because you grew up a Yankee fan.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
So let me tell you, you know, the first time
in my double team fanship, it really is at a
point in my life where two of my teams are
fighting for something at the highest level. And so I've
experienced it where it's a regular season game that's that's

(02:24):
very different than you know, playing for a super Bowl,
NBA championship or something like that. And so I must
admit it was me at me a k nots. Like literally,
I was extremely conflicted because once I decided I was
rooting for the Yankees, and you know, shout out my
uncle Billy rest in peace. It with my way of

(02:45):
honoring my uncle. Billy a huge Yankee fan. He liked
the Dodgers as well, but he was a huge Yankee fan.
So I'm like, I'm riding with the I'm ride with
the Yankees. History easy choice. I literally cut off the
Dodgers emotionally, so you know, hoping they strike out, I'm
hoping they commit errors. I must have met when Sho

(03:07):
Tany got hurt. There was a part of me like, yes,
we got a shot out right, and you know there's
points in the game. I'm literally checking myself like how
you are literally hating on the Dodgers, Like what weird?
Check yourself like it's okay, man, you can you can
be excited for the Yankees and not hate on the Dodge.

(03:27):
And then even when they win the championships, I'm so
caught up and hoping that the Yankees win that last
game and emotionally want them the season to continue that
I literally turn off the TV and disappointment when the
game is ten minutes later, I'm like, dude, Dodgers are
celebrating the world you might want to watch this, and

(03:50):
turned back on the TV and kind of got over.
So again I'm with you. Big shout out to the
Dodgers for winning their winning the World Series. They had
the best team throughout the year, had some ups and down,
but the show hal Tani audition was awesome. They got
the payroll to sustain sustain so many injuries they had

(04:13):
to their pitching staff, but had the resources to make
it happen and ultimately played better in the World Series.
So even once they get there, while the the what
am I saying to say? The rosters definitely were, you know, comparable,
because the Yankees had players too, but the Yankees just
didn't make as many plays and actually made more errors

(04:36):
than the Dodgers, and so baseball from a baseball perspective,
the Dodgers played better baseball to win the win the
World Series and did.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, and in big, big moments they made plays you
know well documented. Aaron Judges bat disappeared.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah yeah, yeah, and started warming up a little bit
in the in the you know, last couple of games.
So it's unfortunately that you know, he hits, he hits
some home runs and it's just like, damn, but the
season is over. But Juan Soto, you know who we
only have for one year in the Bronx, definitely played
at a high level. And that young man is hitting

(05:16):
free agency and is about to I think gonna get
a deal at least five hundred and fifty. Some people
are saying up to six hundred six fifty. So yeah,
he's about to really cashing on a great year on
the Yankees. But more importantly, I think in terms of
his value in the playoffs, he continued to be awesome

(05:40):
and that's hard to get. So he's valuable. Good for him,
good for Wan.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
So boy can go dig through my couch and whatever
find five.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Hundred mills and it's you know, there are some very rich,
desperate owners and uh baseball right now, and they are
you know, it's gonna be a big bidding war that
would start in the next few weeks for him. So
I wouldn't think by Christmas he'll be signed up, wrapped up.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
So we'll see cool, well, good man, We'll I think
one of the shortest offseasons in sports is Major League Baseball.
So yeah, we're talking I.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Think the winning meeting starting a couple of weeks. Alright,
let's go.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
So man, well, we'll chat back in with you when
next season rolls around. Should be about three months before
we get into this the meat of the show. I
want to get your thoughts on a couple of things.
First and foremost, A considering who I'm talking to, what's

(06:53):
uh you think about Dak's injury? Looks like he was
gonna be placed on ir hamstring, actually tore off the bone,
they're saying, yeah, like slow roasted off the bat. Yeah,
what what are one? What are the prospects for the

(07:14):
rest of the season, who's gonna take over quarterback? And two,
considering they just signed them to a long term deal,
what does the ramifications of what happens the rest of
this year effect the Cowboys story moving forward?

Speaker 2 (07:34):
So it's been a tough year for the Cowboys this season.
A lot of the injuries and a lot of losses.
And while our owner yeah says we're still going for
it now, I do. I do respect his competitiveness, right
because I'm gonna believe in until you are you're not

(07:55):
out and keep going for it. And with the injuries,
you never really know there were teams like Green Bay
who were struggling last year at this time of the season,
make a run and you know, get to the NFC
Championship game, and so I respect his competitiveness. With the

(08:19):
question of who's going to take over, it's gonna be
Cooper Rush initially, I mean, I think he was in
the number number two positions, so that shows you how
they value who he is and what he brings to
the team. Had some success last year with the team
when he was as a quarterbacks. I can definitely see
him getting the first shot to the extent that he

(08:42):
will either make a run and keep us in it
or lose some games and then get out of it.
And I think once we are at a point where
you know what we you know, one more laws were
out or you know, or maybe even out of it,
then I don't think Trey Lance gets a shot. And
I think the fact that they gave him a lot

(09:04):
of opportunities of preseason, they're gonna want to see what
that looks like against real talent. And if we're not,
I don't expect that to come back with an injury
like that, you know, for this season, particularly act you
talk long term we signed him to a big deal,
and unless we are you know, close in the playoffs
in December or something like that, those types of injuries

(09:27):
take a long time to fully fully and so I
wouldn't risk him coming back, particularly if either Cooper Rush
is doing okay or we're out of it. So I
don't think he I really myf I was a betting man,
I wouldn't bet. I wouldn't bet on that, and I

(09:49):
am a betting man, by the way, I'm not betting
on Dak Prescott coming back this.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Season, okay, and especially considering all the injuries around. It's
not just back at this point. Yeah, a lot of
pieces on defense.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Michael land is out, but they'll be coming back. Your cooks,
and they manage a trade for a wide receiver too,
So I kind of like Mingo, I I think it's
a good move to add to the wide receiving room,

(10:28):
give him a chance to you know, earn a number
two maybe number three slot in our offense. We got
some young wide receivers that you know they are right,
but they're not. No one's consistently showing up as he
can get open consistently. And like when I look at
the game, that's what. I don't see a lot of

(10:50):
separation from our wide receivers. I don't know if it's
the players or the scheme. I'm not that you know,
I'm not in their uh their rooms, so I can't
tell you what's the problem. I just know folks ain't open.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, and just from looking. And of course I don't
watch as much Cowboys football as you do. But one
thing I've noticed the same thing is a lack of separation.
So I think it's a combination of both. I think,
you know, especially with Brandon Cooks, you lose a lot
of speed and ability to separate. But I just think
the types of receivers outside of CD LAMB just just

(11:27):
not a lot of guys skill set to create separation.
But with that being said, sometimes you have the scheme
guys open, because there's guys all across the league who
can't separate at a high.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Level, but they get open, wide open, right, Travis Kelce
the Kansas City Right, Like I.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Guarantee you Travis Kessy running five to one at this point,
but you get open. So I mean, should DeAndre Hopkins,
the fastest dude right has never been and he's thirty
one now I'm sure he's not that fast anymore. So
it's ways you know, people.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
And so I think that this being McCarthy's last season,
I think what could be in the in the mix
is a radical change in terms of our coaching. If
we bottom out in this season, then while he can't

(12:37):
be blamed for the injuries, some say the lack of
talent on our roster, you know what I mean. So
it's like, at the end of the day, you got
what you guys. As a coach, you got to make
the best of it, and if you lose, you're not
gonna stay working. I think this would be a great
opportunity with his contract and then for the Cowboys to

(12:58):
try to get a different type of coach and a
different type of offense in there that if you look
at Dak, you know, and this long contract, well this
is a second chapter or you know, here's another chapter opportunity,
a window for him with this contract. So it's like,
all right, who are gonna give Dak so that he
can maximize the years that we have him signed up

(13:21):
for that the offense looks real set, stagnant when I'm
looking at it now, real, real vanilla and without a uh,
significant steady running game, which we have not had at
the ball this season. It looks looks hard.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
We'll see you do have a second team to New
York Jets.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Yeah, finally one again.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Right, So I mean and connection with my team. They
traded away Mike Williams to the Stills real quickly. What
does Mike will bring to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
He's going to bring a wide receiver who has a
lot of limp, good hands, something to prove. But honestly,
wasn't given a lot of opportunities with the Jets, and
I think partly because the early part of the season

(14:20):
he's learned in the offense and recovering physically. The last
couple of games, DeVante Adams been there. So while he's
got some looks, I think as he's got healthier, the
opportunities have dried up. Because of DeVante Adams is now man.
You got Gary Garrett Wilson, so I think he could

(14:41):
really help with a veteran receiver, I mean veteran quarterback
like Russell, and I think for a team like yours
that isn't going to throw the ball fifty times a game,
just gives y'all a third down option gives y'all a
red zone option and if he's healthy, a really good

(15:06):
counter to Pickins and has shown him to be a professional,
you know, in terms of how he played or not played,
but showed up as a as a teammate, right, I mean,
I think and what I mean by that there was

(15:27):
an opportunity. There was an instance where Aaron Rodgers kind
of threw him under the bus after a loss, and
I don't know how he dealt with it, which to me,
I shouldn't know how he dealt with it, because it'd
be better for him to handle it outside of the
media and for us to be aware of and you know,

(15:48):
continue to show up, play, perform with the opportunities he got.
So I thought there was a good move for Jets
to get rid of him, but also a good move
for y'all to pick him up. Cool.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Absolutely, All right, let's jump into these mid season awards. Man,
it's hard to believe we're halfway through the season already. Yeah,
I mean, it's always second a hard to measure now
seventeen games, but we're approximately halfway through the season. So
mid season NFL awards will start with the Offensive Rookie

(16:21):
of the Year who you got.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
I'm going with somebody who I liked when we was
talking in the drive, Jaden Daniels. Yeah, and so I
think him coming in from the preseason to the regular season,
he has showed himself to be somebody who can handle
the spotlight, handled the position, and the fact that they

(16:47):
are in the first place in the NFSE to me
is totally, like, totally just shows that this guy is
a real player. And yeah, a great, great uh completion percentage,
Like he's really not just running but playing an efficient

(17:09):
quarterback game. So shout out to Jaden And that's my
that's my suggestion. I mean my.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Selection definitely defensive rookie.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
You know, no one I can't say this. When Jaden
was really lighting it up and he was to me
the obvious choice. I really had to go through and like, dang,
who are the defensive rookies this year? But that caused
me to come across a line. A pass rusher with
the rams, I think jagged verse would be my selection.

(17:43):
Definitely getting a lot of pressure, got three three and
a half shocks, So you know for rookie pass rusher,
to me, that's that says a lot. And so that's what.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
I rolled with, Yeah, the Rams got some talent, young
talent in that defensive line, Jared Versus, Braydon Fist and
Kobe Turner. Not that they don't miss Aaron Donald. You
can't replace that, but they've got some good replenty pieces there.
True that, Oh, who's your coach of.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
The year at this point, So I almost went with
who I think is the best team in the NFL,
the Lions, Dan Campbell. And I'm saying that and saying
his name because I think he's built a great program.
And in the last second, I decided to flip my selection,

(18:41):
even though I think what he's built this year and
how they perform and shout out to Dan Campbell, but
I'm gonna go with Quinn with the Commanders. And the
more I thought about it, like the the what he's
done to transform that team that cold sure all that
they were dealing with with the Snyder Dan Snyder stuff,

(19:06):
like it's just a lot to handle, and so to
come in and get your team to buy in, and
and with the rookie quarterback, I'm going with Dan Quinn.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Okay, yeah, Dan Quinn's done a great job. And I'm
thinking Mike Tumblins had the ring.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Yeah, shout out to Mike. Shout out to Mike.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
You know, it's crazy to me before I'm gonna start
with recording these, But every season they say it's gonna
be Mike Tumblins first year losing season. It never happens.
I just feel like people are gonna say it until
it happens and then say, see, I told you so.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah, I stopped. I stopped saying it after last year
because I was definitely somebody who last year thought, oh,
I look, this is the year. I was like, yeah,
and I'm not saying that no more.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah, I'm fortuant for somebody to make to be foreign
to and have the balls to make that move going
to a different quarterback when nobody else in the building
wanted it to happen. That's that's just a sign. Maybe
got lucky, or maybe he knew something nobody else did,
but he did it.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
True, that uh come back player.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
If you had asked me at the beginning of the year,
and maybe we did have this show, I think I
was saying Aaron Rodgers, but not as.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
You've seen him play.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
So I'm going with another quarterback down here in a
with Kirk Cousins, and I just think he's been playing
exceptionally well actually I think it better, and has done
a really good job with some young talent to consistently
put up points as the Falcon right there with opportunity

(20:55):
to win their their division. So shout out to Kirk
Cousins and Atlanta Falcons for making that move.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
All Right, defensive every year.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
I'm gonna go with again, I think if you had
asked me at the beginning, yeah, it's gonna be Michael Parsons,
but he got hurt, So I'm going with Trey Hendrickson
with the Bengals. I think pass rusher for past rusher.
I really like what he put up this year, and
I think I might have had I would have said

(21:32):
agent Hutchinson was on this trajectory and he probably would
have been my selection a month ago, But because he
got hurt and where we've been now, I'm going with Hendrickson.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Okay, have we hard for Henderson to do? He's on
one of the I think the third worst defense in
the league, but he's really the only threat they have
on defense. Correct now he's down on the field, they
absolutely have nothing, So yeah, but great player, offensive player.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
So offensive Player of the Year, I'm going with m hmm. Actually,
I'm going with Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I think if if I was going to do a tie,
it would be Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, right, But
I think part of the reason Derrick Henry is having
the success that he is is because of Lamar Jackson's
the threat of Lamar Jackson. So I'm going to just

(22:43):
go and give my Lamars some of that credit and
going with for you to have the assist and make
this brother even in the conversation, based on his abilities
and opportunities with you as a quarterback, that multiplyer multiplier.
I'm not going to give you the off of the
Player of the Year, Lama Jackson.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Okay, MVP does Lamar double up?

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Going right back to Lamar Jackson with the MVP, and
I mean it. It was actually a close second with Jayden, right,
because I think he's played so well and has such
an impact his value to the commanders. But I think

(23:29):
I'm going to go with the veteran who's shown the
consistency and give him his props now, and if Jayden
continues to do this, then you know what I'll elevate him.
But you know, I was listening somewhere over the weekend
and it stayed Lamar might be the first quarterback to

(23:51):
rush for a thousand and pass for four thousand in
the season. Like I was like, wow, Like yeah, yeah,
how can I now go with him? So yeah, I'm
going with a Mark MVP.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Absolutely. A couple of surprise questions that I just thought about,
mm hmmm, who's your most surprising team and most disappointing team?
Just don't have to explain it.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
I mean my most disappointed it's definitely the the Cowboys
because I I assume their running game would be better.
I assume their passing game would be better. And I
think the fact that you know, the chemistry the CD,

(24:49):
Lamb and d not having a season the preseason to
work together the training camp, I think UH had an issue,
So Dallas would be the them. I think my most
surprising team is going to be actually, you know, while
because I've talked a lot about Commanders, so I'm gonna

(25:09):
say somebody different. Most surprising team for me are the Chiefs. Okay,
and the idea that they are undefeated with this roster,
like I didn't I don't think this is a better
team than last year. At least I didn't come right,
but they're continuing to find ways to win. Yeah, I'm

(25:34):
going with I'm going with the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
And most surprising Player and most disappointing player.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Most disappointing player Aaron Rodgers, Like I just knew he
was going to be lights out and the Jets were
going to show everybody that their offense with Aaron Rodgers
and the and the young talent surrounding him, I was

(26:08):
expecting a lot more. Gotcha on a positive tip. Most
surprising player mm hm, who's been balled out? And I
didn't expecting the ball out. I'm gonna go with you
know what, and on this whole lot of people gonna

(26:30):
be like what really say? Kun Parkley? Okay, I he's
playing like all pro level and you know, recently performed
a move on a football for you that was never

(26:51):
seen before probably we'll never see again. But has literally
been the best player on that Philadelphia fence. And I
guess what's I didn't expect it. I didn't expect that
coming and has elevated other players as he has performed

(27:15):
at an elite level.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, he's easily their best player. Mm hmmm, yeah, all right,
well cool, we'll jump back on this and revisit, of
course as we get to the end of the season
see if these hold up. But yeah, so far, I
think you're pretty solid. Yeah, real quick, let's talk about

(27:38):
draft stuff real quick. Okay, we're gonna talk running backs,
and really, especially in regards to your Cowboys. The number
one name on the board consensusly is is Asingenty for
Boyding State. I think his floor as far as how

(28:01):
far he falls in the draft is wherever the Cowboys picked,
think it desperately use him? Yeah, what do you think
about his fit with the Cowboys and in general?

Speaker 2 (28:16):
I would love to see him on our team. And
you know, I look at and I to your point
about how early would they actually pick him. I look
at him to have the impact on our offense the
same way B John Robinson has had an impact on
the Falcons recently, and they picked him pretty high. And

(28:40):
I think he is a you know, potential all world
back game changer. If the Cowboys had an opportunity to
pick him, you know, in the first round kind of high,
I would say do it, because they desperately need a

(29:02):
game changer in the running back position, And I think
while Zeke was that guy for you know, a few seasons,
he's just not that guy anymore.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
We need that guy, right, And I think even I mean,
he's almost thirty, so I still think, yeah, I still
think he was worth that first round pick considering what
he gave them. So I know people saying it was
going to give my question to you, but I think

(29:34):
you made your point. Is asking genty worth the first
round pick? And I think he is. And then I
know people got out of flat for taking running backs.
Teams get a lot of flat for taking running backs
at high and you know, some people were just against
it standardly, like don't draft running backs in the first round.

(29:57):
But when you get a I mean, you get an
opportunity to draft act like that, especially considering, you know,
relatively to who else is on the board, you gotta
you know, you can't completely take running backs off your board. No,
I think it'd be a huge up.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah. I think when a potential superstar running matches the
knee of the team in the first round, I out
recommend y'all you know you pull the trigger, and I
just think again, not, you know, I wouldn't say that

(30:34):
usually there's one two potential running backs who are in
that category every year. I do believe that you can
get a decent running back, sometimes a really really good
running back later in the draft. Shout out to Breeze Hall, right,
and so I'm okay with second round, third round, you know,

(30:58):
looking for that other running back that's like, you know what,
people might he might not have the speed he might
have had to side, but we we we saw something
and we saw a dog and him We're gonna pick
him and turn out to be a really good addition
to a roster. But the talent of Ashton, to me,
what he's showing this year is like, well, this guy
might be that guy. And if the Cowboys get a

(31:21):
chance to add him to a roster that does not
have that guy, a little other guy not the guy, Yeah,
I would jumping cool.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Any other backs out there that are coming out of
this year that caught your eye yet, I know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
I'm not digging deep, but you know, this is a
guy on a Mullins with the Michigan You've got a
chance to see him a couple couple of times just
because of a Michigan fan. I like what he he
brings to the table, and then Ohio State has a
good one and Adkins. Yeah, yeah, like him too.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
I'll give you a name to look out for, okay.
Caleb Johnson with Iowa m about six twenty n Yeah,
good speed. Our runs a lot of outside zone. Who's
a lot of you know, pro style reps there. But

(32:28):
check him out. Of course. I don't think you'll be
in that first round category conversation. But really interesting player.
Of course, you know, considering Nag he's on the last
year's contract. I'm looking at running backs. She's kind of
keep an eye on certain Caleb Johnson and DJ Giddings

(32:48):
from Kansas State to them.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Okay, so keep them names en down, y'all, because my
cousin been be calling players when you know, pay attention.
When they called wow, I can't remember who the running
back was at the Cowboy. You got the one here
and you called them all. I was like, really nice?
And who was he nice?

Speaker 1 (33:08):
I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
You called this one. Telling y'all listen to listen to
them names. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Two of my favorites last year Tarn Tracy. He was
kind of a lot of people kind of liked him,
but also like Isaac Guerrero, Isaac Guard, Isaac Guero from
uh Louisville, bodies with the Jet, I mean with San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Then okay, balling out, so balling out.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Yeah, so I'm gonna you know, I'll give you some
names to keep up with. Well, we'll date deeper as
we go.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Here.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
It is who so we can question before we get
to these pics for week ten? What do you know?
You know after week nine?

Speaker 2 (34:00):
What do I know? I know after week nine? What
I know I know after week nine is that the
Detroit Lions are the best team in the NFC.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah, They're tough and they are they can beat you
in multiple ways. They just picked up a replacement for
Hutchison and the past rusher out of Cleveland, Darius Smith,
and so I think they rightfully are making their moves

(34:40):
and I think are the favorite in the NFC to
get to the Super Bowl. I can't see anybody Barn injury
stopping him.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Yeah. San Francisco's kind of you know, injuries, of course,
but they think they kind of the windows kind of
closing at this point. I don't think who else will
be a real threat to Detroit Minnesota. But Sam Donald's
going to be Sam Donald at some point.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Yeah, you're getting there. Maybe the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
Maybe the Eagles, maybe the Commanders. I think we passed
the point of saying maybe they're just lucky. But and
this is a fun team. I think you gotta start
taking them seriously. But yeah, I don't think anybody messes
up to Detroit.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington makes some noise
in the playoffs, but I can't expect them to. I mean,
I still think Detroit is the team to watch out for.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Yeah, and the Commanders, man, I hate to use the
term name played anybody. Yeah, but they hadn't really been
tested at this point, and the one time they did,
Baltimore kind of laid off.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Honestly, they haven't. I don't think they've played the Eagles
of the Cowboy as yet.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
They're not that they haven't. Yeah, they'd be the Giants twice.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Yeah, So we'll see and then you know if if
they make it there.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Right, Yeah, yeah, I think one thing I know, I know,
and I'm glad who is not here to hear this.
The Bears they are added again. Man, they they are

(36:37):
trying to ruin Caleb Williams. I don't know maybe not
on purpose, but it's definitely a collective like from it's
like organizationally coaching, and not a players even in the
like Caleb scrambling around last week in the game trying

(36:58):
to make a play and DJ Moore walks off the
field in the middle of the play and goes and
just sits on the bench. That's just the most egregious one.
But it's he's walking on I mean literally walking jogging
through routes when he's the first read and Caleb's looking

(37:20):
at him like, oh ship, he ain't gonna get open.
I gotta find somebody.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
What's that all about?

Speaker 1 (37:27):
God, I don't know. Keenan Allen, right, Keenan Allen not
running routes, just freelancing swift, not blocking on reps.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Just it is.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
We know the offensive line is pretty bad. Yeah, but
I don't know if it's I wish, yeah, I wish
he was here because at this point, one I wonder
if they.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
They don't like Kleb right, what's the problem.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
And two it's pretty evident after this season, if things
continue to go this way, they're gonna fire the coach,
get a new coach, which means a new Ovens coordinator,
So this will be the third quarterback. They did this too,
Miter Trubisky. His first two years, he had two different
head coaches, two different systems. Justin fields first two years

(38:22):
in the league, two different head coaches, two different systems,
and now they're working on a third. Like at this point,
I don't think it's a curse. At some point, you
just like they just they're they're terrible, like as an organization, right,
just dysfunctional. Like, So, yeah, that's what I know. I
know the Chicago Bears are working on three for three,

(38:46):
ruining top fifteen quarterbacks in the last six years, right, and.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
With such high hopes. Yeah, hayleb coming onto that team
because there was talent around them. But just shows you
talent is not everything.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Absolutely, So we'll see. Let's get to these picks, man,
But we get out of here, yes, sir, h put schedule, Hey,

(39:33):
so open it up. Thursday night, got an AFC North matchup.
The Bengals travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens.
Who you got.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Going to Baltimore. I'm going with I'm gonna go with
Lamar to pull it out. I think it should be
a good game. But I'm gonna go with Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Okay, sure, great match up here, and I have a
lot of implications on the draft. Giants traveled to Carolina
on the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
This should be pretty interesting. But I think the Panthers
I'm getting a little momo. So it's I think this
game is actually in Germany, so it's not a home
game for either team. I'm gonna get I'm gonna get
a shot to Carolina pulling this one out.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Okay, interesting fact Carolina has two wins on the season.
Both teams as they beat immediately fired their coaches. Disrespect
the Panthers. The Raiders fired their offensive coordinator immediately after
the game, and the Saints fired Dennis Out immediately after

(40:52):
losing to the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
So you lot, the Panthers.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Get out of it, so watch out if you don't
win this game. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Opening up the
one o'clock window on Sunday, we've got the Patriots traveling
to the aforementioned Chicago Bears. Who you're taking, good back,
good matchup of the number one and number three pig
this year. Kate Williams Drake, Yeah, go with.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
And this one. I think I'm gonna go with the
Patriots pulling one out of the road.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
Their receivers actually run rats and blog. Yeah, forty nine
ers traveling to Tampa take on the Bucks.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
Bucks took a hard loss. I think that it's gonna
take him a week to recover. So I'm gonna go
with san fran and this one.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Okay, quick question. If you're on the road in prime
time against an undefeated, defending champions and you take them,
you got a chance to tire or go for two
for the win.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Yeah, that's an interesting decision. I think I would have
gone for the win. Yeah, I would have gone for
the win. Yeah, and not Handside twenty twenty. I mean,

(42:26):
I think there's really an argument to be made for
both calls, but I think I would have leaned towards
I don't mind being criticized for being too aggressive. No,

(42:46):
I don't want to be I don't want to be
criticized for being scared or you know, yeah, not willing
to take the shot.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
And so yeah, I'm going down. I'm going down God's blazon.
Uh exactly, all right, Denver taking on the Chiefs at
one o'clock Sunday. Who you taking?

Speaker 2 (43:09):
I'm expecting the Chiefs to remain undefeated. Although Denver will
play better, we'll put up a good game. I think
they you know, got shellacked, but I think they'll rebound
with a better effort. But I'm going with the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
That's the division game. It's gonna be mm hmm. Buffalo
Bills travel to Indianapolis to take on coach legend Joe
Flacco and the Uh.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
I'll go with Buffalo playing well, Josh Allen making plays,
and I think that offense will continue to get better
as the season goes by. So I'm taking the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Oh all right, really good game still has travel to
Commanders and one flock Sunday.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
Are you gonna like this? But my my, I'm going
with Pittsburgh. Okay, I think this would be one of
the better defenses that Washington has faced, and so I'm
take my chances with this defense and see what they got.
So I'm going with Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Yeah. I'm interested in this one because mister, it's the
NFC team, so it won't affect us if we lose
this one in the tie record, which I want to win.
But I'm also interested in seeing if the Commanders can
put up the points on there's still a defense. How
the offense responds in the shootout. Oh, I want to

(44:46):
see what Rush is cooking with. I want to see
see if this offense, if they can really hang with
one of the elite teams. I think Washington is second
in the league in point point score points per game
and Pittsburgh is second and points allowed, So it's gonna

(45:06):
be a pretty interesting match up here. Vikings traveling to Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
I'm thinking, you know, the Vikings on the road have
been but I don't have a lot of faith in
Jacksonville these days, so uh, it's I'm not hard for
me there. I'm gonna go ahead the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Another type division matchup, might not be by record, but
Falcons Saints, Falcons on the road.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Not liking what I'm seeing with the Saints nowadays, so
I'm pulling with the Falcons get another win. Mhm.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Tennessee Titans traveled to LA to take on the Chargers
at four o'clock.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
Like what I see with the Charges nowadays. I think
Justin Herbert is definitely getting a little healthier. I think
Jim Hollborg is starting to get some results from a
team overall, and I would expect them to play better
the second half of the season. So I'm going with
the Chargers, and I think this is gonna be a blowout. Actually,
I think they're gonna win big.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
Yeah, but they will be taking on still as legend
Mason Rudolph, So I don't.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
Know that that really the Mason the man that missed
that exactly.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
Your New York Jets travel Arizona to take on the
Cardinals at four twenty five. Who you got.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Im going to.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
Right?

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Cardinal's coming off will win, you know, I'm the Jets
gotta get it going, So it's now whenever I think
they understand that they're gonna be playing with a sense
of urgency. And I think the matchup of the day though,
is Harrison and Sauce Gardner. I think that's gonna be

(47:15):
fun to watch. So but I'm gonna go with the Jets.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
Okay, Eagles, Cowboys at.

Speaker 2 (47:24):
Yeah, I'm just gonna say it real quick and mumble it,
but I'm going with the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
H Detroit and Houston another good interconference matchup. Who you
taking on that Sunday night?

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah? Been been really big on Detroit as y'all have
heard this episode, Really like what I see there. I'm like,
like C. J. Stroud, I think they're doing a good
thing and but I think the injuries to the wide
receiver is going to not allow them to keep up
with the scoring of Detroit. So I'm going with the

(48:02):
Tray got a lot of weapons.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
Offense, and the wrap up the week on Monday night,
we've got Miami traveling to LA to take on the Rams,
So you got I'm going.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
With the Rams. Think they've been playing really good, really
like what I see from Stafford, and I think the
defense will surprise some people. So I'm gonna go with
the Rams and a close one on this one.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Okay, Oh that's all the picks.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Man.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
It should be a pretty interesting week. Yeah, a lot
of teams are entering their bye weeks and so a
lot of you know, yeah, the records are off in
divisions right now. But yeah, it's good that a lot
of teams are. You know, the bye weeks for teams
at this point, teams get a lot of un opportunity
to get healthy. Another still are getting a lot of

(49:00):
players back off the injury. So it should be a
good week.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
Man.

Speaker 1 (49:04):
I know it's tough times right now being a Jets
and Cowboys fan, But good luck to you this week.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
Well you know, thank you. I think you know this
will be a pivotal week for both teams. So we're
gonna learn what I know. I know next show, learn
a lot. I'm gonna learn a lot from these two games.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
And I know what I do know. Your cousins are
giving you hell in the cousins ship.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
Yo. I even have co workers because week after week
as I come and share how my cousins are giving
me hell, and the cousins shack Daddy at the point
they resist sending me texts my coworkers because they taking
it easy. They're like, well, he's already getting his share.
We'll just bring it up at lunch. You know, I

(49:54):
think they are choosing wisely not to send the cowboy
meme that yets me just like, please, thank you, I
appreciate the pity.

Speaker 1 (50:07):
Good luck man, any part before we get out of here.

Speaker 2 (50:12):

And you know a lot going on in this world,
and so be be thankful for all the good that
goes on and just persist through all the rest. And

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
