pressure to be a teacher knowing damnwell, I'm just a drummer posing
like a sketch of faking as afiddler Scotch and like a singer poster as
a rapper. How you tell thealgorithm? I'm an artist man. When
(01:21):
everybody got a decollected you in attheir ankles in the twenty first century read
trying to buy a dream when theysold us more than we could handle.
They love to tell you fake fries, but I ain't loving it. I'm
trying to dismantle all the illusions thatconfuse me. Every time I reach for
the truth, they try to bruiseme. Stead He's trying to solve all
this math under my loose sleep, trying to full sleep. But you lose
(01:42):
me if you don't put the peoplefirst, because that's a show true,
leave me, that's what that's whatyou truly, truly if you're on the
house high funny after after, that'sjust lett me like this cinematic as a

short movie. Need more teachers.Without him, we just got poor schooling.
That's what show. It's truly thekids, the future. But sometimes
I'm still a studio. A lotof things we let get out of shape
trying to turkey going. We reallybeen teaching music. I ain't even a
beat like Mischel three that I keptit. Movie can'tuate the Z and ABC
is without going through them. Ipray you think about that when you're going
through it. All about the show, improvement, incremental growth we got in

from Arlington Sagein and then now you'replaying at ut Rio Grand Valley. What's
it been like, you know, playing the Division one basketball. Uh,
it's been Uh, it's been great, Cobar. Uh. I feel like
I've been a the huge adjustment, just getting adapted to the speed and the
(04:03):
physicality of the game. And yeah, overall it's been great. And I
know you were looking forward to ahomecoming back in November at TCU and then
you had an injury that prevented youfrom being able to do that. Yes,
sir, I had I got injurieslike the night before we were supposed
(04:24):
to travel down there, so Iwasn't able to come down and compete.
But I'm healthy now. So areyou thinking there's going to be a lot
of your friends and family come intothe game. Oh, yes, sir,
I have a lot of friends andfamily and uh some of like like
(04:47):
the my school of the game tocome into the game. So uh so
I'm just excited to get to playit by a family and a kind of
a homecoming a little bit. Sojust excited for that. So what do
you remember about your time at Sageinuh, like like my best memory or
(05:14):
yeah, just like any things thatare memorable about your time. There's just
uh just making a playoff run ofmy sophomore year and my senior year.
We had, Yeah, went ona pretty good run. My sophomore year
we had made it to the thirdround and lost unfortunately, but then our
senior year we lost in the secondround. But it was just memorable,
(05:39):
you know, being on campus duringthat time and uh, you know,
having the community and like our fanbase come out and support us, and
it was just a great time. And so okay, So did you play
any other sports growing up or you'rejust strictly basketball? Uh? Yes,
(06:00):
growing up, I played football.I was pretty colent to that football.
Then kind of getting older, Iwas you know, leaning more towards basketball
around middle school. So and Ialso ran track a little bit like growing
up and then in like middle school, and then once I got to high
(06:26):
school, it was just kind ofstrictly basketball. That's what I love to
do. So okay, so howdid it help you? You know,
I'm having your dad as a basketballcoach. Uh it was definitely. Uh,
I love when he was coaching me. You know, he was at
(06:46):
first it was kind of hard, you know, uh kind of kind of
balancing that father son relationship and thecoach player relationship, you know, on
and off the court. But youknow, when things go Roland. As
I got older around middle school,uh age, things were pretty good and
(07:06):
UH just enjoyed him being my coachand was getting to travel and uh yeah,
everything was h everything was a goodthing, okay. And then so
how did you pick U t rG V h U t r G V.
Uh I had uh last year Ihad attended, I was attendent of
(07:31):
Lovely Christian University. Uh, youknow, things weren't really going going well
there and uh I had ended uprestrating and uh decided that one really the
place for me, and uh Ihit the hit the transfer portal and uh
and coach fig had reached out,and uh I just went from there and
(07:57):
uh kind of just of the campusand ever since then just been here and
doing what I need to do.So okay, did you ever either when
you're in high school or after youwere in love with Christian did you ever
consider uta or No? Uh,they were looking at me for a little
(08:20):
bit during high school, but uh, you know it kind of didn't fall
through in terms of recruitment, anduh yeah, it just had to kind
of had to move on after that. So does that give you extra motivation
like when you play them? Ohyeah it does. It definitely does.
But you know, trying not tokeep a personal keeping business, but yeah,
(08:43):
definitely gives me motivation. And oneof your teammates, Roy Jones,
the Thirds, what's it like playingwith him? Roy Jones? Oh that's
my guy. He's also my roommates. Okay, yes, sir, I
like playing with Roy. You know, we kind of just feed off each
(09:03):
other's energy and yeah, yeah, yeah, I just love playing with him.
So is have you had a chanceto get to know his dad at
all? Or I've had a chanceto meet him and uh, you know,
we we've had a conversation to two. He's he's a pretty cool due.
He's a real real chill guy.You know. It's just uh yeah,
(09:26):
he played a little basketball back inthe day. He played a little
basketball back in the day. Yeah, Roy, Yeah, Roy told me
about that a little bit. Yeah. Okay, So then what are you
studying at Rio Grand Valley currently?I'm underclear, okay, still trying to
(09:48):
figure it out, but uh yeah, I'm hoping to figure that out.
By the end of this it's prettysemester, get things rolling for next fall.
Was that a big change going fromyou know, I guess you've been
to several regions of the state becauseDFW, and then you're up in Lubbock
and then now down in the valley, Like, was that a lot a
big adjustment to do that? Itwas going from love Big to down south
(10:16):
in the valley. You know,it's definitely a weather change. It's you
know, always kind of warm herehot in the like summer, and uh
yeah, I mean it's like rightnow it's probably like seventy ish degree sixty
degrees, and I know up inlike love Big or DFW is pretty pretty
(10:39):
