Speaker 1 (00:07):
M M.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Kind of dealing with a small headache, but other than that,
I'm pretty decent. Yeah, man, it's I mean, I think
it's it's the weather too, because it's starting to get
cold again and that's obviously a great thing. Yeah, which
you know, hell yeah, but I don't know, maybe maybe
(01:05):
I just need more accustom back to it. You're dealing
with a hot weather. But yeah, how how was your day? Man?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, yeah, it was okay.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I'll just say that.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, mine was okay too. I'll kind of go off,
I'll kind of copy your thing. I'll just say that
it was it was okay. Ah, just trying just trying
to just trying to get by with a few hiccups
and everything. But yeah, man, like I mentioned before, people
(01:52):
kind of keep this tonight's show kind of short and sweet,
kind of like last week, where being at this Friday's Halloween,
we can do something Halloween related, you know, with obviously
you know, I'll get your opinion about what happened, what
happened on Halloween havoc and then do Saturday's meing event
predictions for this Saturday. And also let's talk about some
(02:16):
horror movies, some of some of your favorite horror movies,
talk about some of my favorite horror movies, and then
I have a list. It's ah it mixes with wrestling
and horror, just to kind of see what you think
about it.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
But yeah, sure, yeah, whatever the chat wants to do,
wherever you want to do.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
I am on uh bref.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yes, sir, and uh yeah, let's I actually already started
recording and we got some people in, so let's get started.
I'm gonna start it on YouTube. All right, people, welcome
to the show. It is Wednesday. We're a little early,
(02:59):
which is good. And uh, this is a special Halloween episode.
I mean, technically Halloween is this Friday, but it's the
Wednesday before Halloween, so we're gonna have a little fun tonight.
Asily enough, it's gonna be not too much about wrestling,
even though this is a wrestling podcast, but really not
(03:21):
a lot happened. But before I get into logistics, I
am Drew. I'm your spooky host of the evening and
joining me as always.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Justin from Spinebuster Cheese and spine muster Teese dot Com.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
All right, boy, I was telling Justin on the pre show,
it's starting to begin to feel a lot like fall
here in San Antoni, which I fucking love sweater weather.
You know, it's hoodie weather, it's cardigan weather. I noticed
I saw on your Instagram story that you are wearing
some hoodies. So did you dig in this weather justin?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah? All right, I don't like it too hot?
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, me neither. I mean again, we're in Texas, so
we're used to it. But at the same time, it's like,
I don't know, we like that crisp, you know, sixty
to seventy degree weather, not too cold. I don't. I
don't fuck with like thirty or forty degrees. I'm good
on that. But so yeah, this Friday's Halloween. Are you
(04:25):
I don't know why I'm asking this. What are you
doing anything interesting for the shop this Friday?
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Like last year to doing like the the kids is
doing like the yellow not really the trunk or treats,
but that's what they're calling a trunk or treat where
kids they come by and they'll trick or treat around
the shops around and yeah, that's pretty much it. So
I'll just be giving up candy, so it's fun. I'll
be dressing up.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Oh what are you gonna be dressing up?
Speaker 3 (04:53):
As. So I think I'm gonna have some Zubas pants.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I'm gonna wear one of my shirts, and I will
have a fucking fanning pack on. So I think I'll
be like a like a early nineties wrestler going to
the gym.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Hey, hey, hey, just just to add to the aesthetic,
make sure to add some somas, just just so it's legit.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Well, I'm not doing that, but kind of like kind
of like the.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
What the role warriors were doing back in the day,
there were those Zuba pants.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Because I do got zoobas, I you got zobos.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Really, that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Official officials pants, so nice.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I think I think I.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Bought it one time as a joke. Then you know,
I never really wore them, but I.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
So have them. So anyone in the chat, just put
whatever you're gonna do for Halloween this Friday, I'm probably
I mean, I'm just gonna do the same thing I've
been doing for the last few years, and that's just
handing out candy. We get dressed up, ass uh me
just just me a frustrated government employee. I haven't dressed
(06:06):
up in a long time. I actually I did dress
up a few years ago for my niece's birthday party
because it was close to Halloween. But as far as
like going to like a like a costume party or anything,
I haven't. I don't think I've ever done that, you know,
like me and the miss is like, it's I'm not
opposed to it. It's just money. You know, costumes cost money.
(06:27):
I know most people make their costumes.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Yeah, like my costumes.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
My costume is just gonna be like like regular clothes
that you can buy, you know what I mean. So,
I mean the neo boss pants have for like a
couple of years already. Now I'll just be wearing like
where my wrestling t shirts. And I was gonna go
buy a fanny pack, all right, and I have and
I have a Jerry cow wig that may put on
too nice.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I want to see that. I'll definitely swing down on Friday.
I had a costume until like four o'clock though, so okay,
I'm at a costume in mind. I even had like
a added like added onto my wishless on Amazon, but
again just money problems. I wasn't able to afford it
or you know, get in time, so to speak. But
(07:12):
it was a cyclops from the X men like the.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
I think of the last few years, it's just been
like nothing like the wrestlers and stuff, because I think
in like twenty twenty one, I was so, I bought
some blue jeans and I was like, well, man, like
I don't know, like I don't know what I want
to be a weaver Right then, I just like I
don't want to like be like like anything crazy or anything
(07:39):
like that.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
So I was like, oh, they just click with me.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
I was like, oh, I got this orange Cassie shirt
and I had that has ball like a blue jeans.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
I wass be Orange Cassie. I bought some sunglasses. I
did that. It was like in twenty twenty one. Then
like in twenty twenty two, I actually bought a costume
of like the Joker.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
It was like a Joker mask from a Joker mask
and like the whole get up from Spirit.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Then the last couple of years, I haven't really done anything.
But but this year I am so.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
The only costume that I have and it's not necessarily
a costume. He congret. You just said, like closed by
is Wolverine because I have the claws. I have like
the the the dog chains and all I need is
just like a pair of jeans and like a white shirt.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
And you know what, I take that back in twenty
twenty three, it wasn't a Halloween.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
But it was like the.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Uh I went to like a little like a get
together party whatever it was like, you know, I wasn't
there for that one. It was definitely me like an
hour or two, like on Saturday night. I dressed up
with Rossetti from from By City because I have because
I have the I have his uh Hawaiian shirt. I
bought saw like a few years ago. I was like,
(08:51):
oh shit, they actually got like a tumbdy proseti Hawaiian shirt.
So I bought that along with uh.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Uh chunk from the Goonies.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
His hawais sure they were in the movie so tider Rosetti.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
So I guess, since we're on the topic, kind of
jump ahead, what are your favorite horror movies? And you
don't have to like give me like a top five,
top ten list, but just like an amalgamation like of
movies that you love watching that are kind of like
your go to.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
So, so we're trying about horror movies or or movies
watching on Halloween, because I think that's kind of different.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Well, I mean I get yeah. So since it's gonna
be Halloween in some month of October, what are some
of your go to like pooror you know, scary movies
on Halloween?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
So on Halloween. Now, these are not my favorite horror movies.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
My favorit horror movies is basically like Slashers and shit
like that, even though this one I'm not the name
is the Slasher. So of course you gotta watch the
original Halloween, like you just have to. I think that's
like tradition anyone's household.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
But I do watch.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Depending and I think this year I think I may
end up doing it, But I do watch my universal
horror so like wolf Man, Dracula, Frankenstein. It just has
to be the right situation, right weather, right, you know,
the right feeling. I think this year and maybe that
also Night of the Hunter. Love that movie, you know,
(10:22):
fifties movie there. Then you know your usuals like Scream, No,
Living Dead, the first one, sixty eight. I'm trying to
think of what else. No, you could probably throw a
Nightmare on Elm Street in there too as well.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Maybe a Friday thirteenth moving o.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Now, now, Friday thirteenth is my favorite horror franchise, but
as far as all the halloweens, because I'm not really
in the mood to watch that in most cases because
I just really find it more. I don't really get
scared watching Friday thirteenth, that makes sense. I'm really fucking
entertained by it with the kills or whatever, but like,
I'm not scared to watch it. You know, I'm not
(11:05):
scared to watch an of these movies, but I get
more creeped out with these other movies I named Versus,
you know Versus probably thirteenth.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Hereditary is good too as well.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
I've been watching it over the past few years since
you know, you know that's that's a neural movie of course,
but Hereditary.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Last year, I did watch Zombie Land. I love that movie.
I mean you could.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
I mean, that's some movie you can watch anytime, even
though it's it's a horror comedy.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
But those are the ones I can think of that
rough top of my head, though.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Some good choices for me. Trick or Treat or Treat
because I know there's an eighties one. Yeah, Trick or
Treats one of my favorites. You know, it's one of
those movies I think it's very it's kind of an
easy watch. It's a little I would say it's a
(12:08):
little better than the original Halloween. And it's not even
like shot on Halloween. It's just you know, a personal preference, just.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
As a Halloween movie is, or as like a horror
movie in general.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I would say as a Halloween movie and a little
bit as a as a horror movie.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
But I would say, I mean, I can't really, you
can't really compare the two though, like as far as
like yeah, Slash or ones I anthology movie.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
I mean, I don't really you know.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Well, they're both Halloween movies. As far as the comparison
that that's kind of where it stops. But like the
first Halloween against classic, so there's the respect. I would
just say Trick or Treat is a little bit more
bright up my alley because it's a little a little
easier to follow, even though even though there are some
things that whenever I do rewatch it, I start to
(13:00):
notice some things I don't like about it. I'm not
a fan of the last story with Brian Cox where
he has you know, Sam in his house. That's kind
of my least hurt part of the movie. And the
stuff with the with the mentally challenged kids that were
killed is always like tough to watch, ye, But yeah,
(13:21):
the rest of the movie I think is I think
is really good. I think it's very criminally underrated movie,
and it's one of the people.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Uh, there's a lot of people who like Trick or Treat.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Yeah, I mean, I mean within the horror Comedian because
I see it every weekend, you know, or with the
horror events that they have here, you know, at the mall.
So I think I think too horror bands is not
underrated maybe to the general audience.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
You're you're probably right.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
About that, right right. Another one I have is the
first Insidious. I love. I love Insidious. It's it's one
of those movies. I think it didn't need a it
didn't need a franchise, but probably because the first one
was good and it made money, that is what I'm assuming.
And I like the second one even though I was like,
(14:09):
was it needed, but it at least tied up some
loose ends. The third one was okay, and then after
that it kind of fell off. So but I really
love the first one. It's a movie I can still
get into, kind of like what you just said about
further the thirteenth, I don't necessarily get scared. I think
the one thing that really does get me is the
score because it has that kind of piano, kind of
(14:31):
theremin sound that always still kind of creeps me out.
So yeah, the first one I really like. So that's
a movie I can rewatch on Halloween. Man, what are
some other ones? If I'm gonna throw on something a
little bit more modern, I would say it's a movie
that came out last year. It's Late Night with the Devil,
(14:54):
and that's that's currently on shutter And that kind of
fits the Halloween thing because the movie is supposed to
be said on Halloween, and it's it's found footage ish
but not really like it has like it will creep
in and out of found footage, you know, the found
footage mode. And I I really did love the movie,
(15:17):
even though the ending, I, you know, was kind of on.
But it's one of the newer ones that I thoroughly
do enjoy. And if we're talking about like old school ones,
the Thing John Carpenter is a thing you can't go
wrong with that. Actually, we just watched for the first
time The Thing from Another World. So the original thing.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
I know you like the you know they're the the remake,
but man, that original is so fucking good too.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Man, we couldn't get into it kind of The original
is so good.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Man.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
I mean, look, look it's a different movie, right obviously.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
But man, the acting is so good in that movie,
so fucking good.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
I mean, I know a lot of people they they
don't really like older movies because they're black and white,
they're slower, or they can't understand the dialec that acting
or whatever.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
But the man, the.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Thing from Different World is so fucking good. But even
have that too, I really consider that more of a
sci fi movie more than a horror movie itself, even
even like the remake, I really concidered that, even though
it has like people dying and you know, getting killed.
I just I just really really consider that more of
a sci fi movie with horror elements to it.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Right, But you know, just my opinion.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
But but back to and there was there was a
few movies I did forget Monster Squad, forgot about that,
Love Muster Squad obviously, Child's Play, and Creep Show.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
We were talking about, uh which one? Huh?
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Which Creep Show?
Speaker 3 (16:55):
The original?
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Okay, which one was which one was the for the
ride lady, I think it's the original, Okay, I like,
I liked both. Yeah, the original was really good. We
another movie which watched for the first time, well, I
think I watched it for the first time was the
original Fright Night with Uh with Chris Serrand and I like,
(17:20):
I like the remake. The remake was pretty good with
Colin Farrell. The original was pretty good too, Like I
both are obviously kind of different, even though you know
they're kind of one and the same. I forgot that
Chris Sarandon was was in a Child's Play. Yeah, I
forgot he was in that. He's been in a lot
of horror properties. He was in those two and he
(17:44):
was Jack Skeleton in Nightmare for Christmas. Like he did
the voice. He didn't do the singing, he did the voice. Yeah,
so he's been a part of a lot of you know,
good movies. Also Princess Bride, but that's not a horror movie.
But I'm just naming a naming a movie. But you know,
and the the original Alien, the first Alien is always
(18:04):
a classic. There's always this like you know, debate on
you know, which one's better Alien and Aliens. I like both,
but I like Alien better because it's more of a
horror film, and I really love isolated horror films, like
you take a creature and just put in a room
(18:26):
full of people and they're just getting picked off on
my ones. So I love the first Alien. Aliens is
still still a great movie. I can't not saying it isn't.
I haven't seen the other ones. I haven't seen three
and four, which you.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Don't want to see Three. You're okay where you're at.
You don't need to watch anymore.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
You don't need to watch Resurrection or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Oh no, I figured, yeah, right, Like I've seen the
other ones, like Prometheus and I forgot what the other
one was called. Those are all those are just a
little whatever it is. Romulus was okay till the last act,
so by default it's maybe like the third best alien
movie Prometheus and was a Covenant. Again. I think I
(19:15):
think they were okay. I think they were just trying
to be something. I think they were trying to be
a little bit too clever when they really weren't. And
the new show The Alien Earth is actually really good.
I don't know if you've gotten a chance to watch that.
I think you might enjoy it. I don't know, but uh,
I mean there's a lot, there's a lot of good choices.
(19:36):
So I actually did something for the Supporters Club over
the weekend. I put up a like a twenty five
to thirty minutes short of just me giving my I
mean compared to podcasts that we do. That's yeah, I
(19:56):
know what you mean, but like just me reading off
my Halloween movie recommendations off of letterbox. So it's up
there people, if you're subscribed to the Spreaker or if
you have a Speaker account, if you're and you're following
the show, right next to the episodes, there's gonna be
a portion that says Supporters Club. So again, just three
(20:17):
bucks a month, you can just hear extra content from us,
you know episode you know stuff of where we're just
talking about you know, non wrestling stuff most of the time,
like some like after air or before air stuff. So
check it out people.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
That there's a lot of other horror movies though that
that I can go off on the tangent on have
you ever seen the coffin Joe movies?
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Often Joe No.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yes, six sixties, sixties, but it's like very gory from
that time period. And there's like some shitty horror movies
as well, like like basket Case.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
I've heard of that.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
Yeah, basket Case. The animators go one.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Very gory stuff the brain, you know, just shitty shitty
like like there, there's like some movies I want to
watch this because they are fucking shitty too.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Critters. You know. It just there's a there's a ton
of them there.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
There's a there's a ton of movies out there you
can just watch, like like the troll movies.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Like you knowing Her and then they're gonna eat me.
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Yeah Ernest, Ernest Scared Stupid, you know what I mean,
that's a good movie to watch on Halloween.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
You know, I remember that. I remember that.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Yeah, Ernest Scared Stupid. You know, it'd be like you know,
I mean there's a some Puppy Master Dean Wolf. You
watch teen Wolf Horrible.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
It's more a comedy, well, I mean there's a horror comedy, right,
I mean, it's more it's more lean into comedy, you know.
But like also with kind of like Seana Sha is
like a like a balance horror comedy, you know.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I think.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Even though zombie Lance is a is a horror coming
but slapstick, right, you know what I mean? So you
know it's just just on just on the whole other
version of a you know, of a horror.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Ish comedy movie.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
But yeah, no, like there's you know, there's a there's
a ship ton I even watched, like even like Twilight Zone.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
I watched the Twilight Zone two during this time of
year two, so you know, mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Were you ever an Outer Limits fan? Not really? No,
mm hmm. I hey, watch, I watched a few episodes
of that wasn't wasn't nuts about it. Let's see what
else were ever? I think you might have answered this
sort Were you a big X Files guy? Not big?
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Respected? I respected?
Speaker 1 (23:05):
And uh, there are some episodes I like, and you know,
of the earlier season whatnot, But like I didn't like watch.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
The whole entire series. But I think I think for
what for you know why I watched even once?
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I thought it was pretty good and interesting, but it
wasn't like a series.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
That was oh man, I love it.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, I mean, always one of my favorites of all time.
But but you know I liked it.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, I think when it came out I wish I
would have gotten to enjoyed a little bit more when
I was a kid, kind of enjoyed most things as
an adult. I know Betty loves that show like that
was ore. That was our jam growing up. The same
writer from that show actually wanted to write a breaking
bad he and that's how he was able to get
(23:48):
Brian Kranton on the show because Brian Cranston came out
an episode of X Files and he ended up up.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Right now that caps.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
So it came out a lot of shit in the nineties,
came on Seinfeld, he came out on another Joey came
out on in the nineties.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Well, I mean, I mean, if you're not gonna I mean,
knock him in the middle is like the thing that
launched his career.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
But well yeah, but I'm trying to think of there's
some other shows that where he just made like appearances.
But yeah, yeah, the story is that he made he did.
He did like a spot on X Files, and when
he was done with Malcolm in the Middle, he wanted
to play He want to play different roles. He didn't
just want to play like the goofy dad roles and
(24:31):
Vince Gilligan was like, hey, I got a spot for
you on the show. You know it was breaking bad.
So so that happened. But going back to her horror discussion,
Uh yeah, I I'm not opposed to like black and
white films because I think I mentioned to you before,
like I did watch the original Dracula, watched the original Frankenstein.
(24:54):
I think I I think I said I liked Frankenstein
a little more because I had a better story.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
That's most casual.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Universal horror responses, which it's not wrong, obviously, it's an opinion,
but for my personal you know, you know, I just
like the story of Jacquela Beanner.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
I think Bellagosi is a fucking master. What he did?
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (25:20):
And and granted right, like like the way we think
about Dracula is the bell legosy like I am Docula,
like you know, you know you you know hear that
right then, Like the way you think about you know,
the Frankenstein Monster, because there were there were Frankenstein movies
previous to the nineteen thirty one film, but you know,
(25:42):
fucking Boris Karloff's version is what we when we see Frankenstein,
like like you know, generic Frankenstein you know, you see
that fucking like you know, dolla true or like a
little like a Frankenstein like you know cut however, right,
it's fucking Bell Lagosi.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
I'm sorry, it is Boris Karlov, so.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Know, yeah, Boris Karloff was.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
It was well Belle a ghostie did play Frankenstein too,
so that I mean, for what it's.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Worth, So I think Boris Karlov he got hired for
the role just by being in like the Universal's comment commissary.
It was like, hey, you look weird. Why won't you
play this role?
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Oh no, this is what happened.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
They were going to give the role to Bell Lagosi originally,
but he but Lagosi didn't want to be kicked and
cover up with makeup, so they settled with bars Karlov,
which was like the best decision that they ever made,
you know what I mean, because Karloff was, you know,
tall and lanky and you know, and that's what made
fucking you know, one of the features of Frankenstein, franken
(26:42):
Sein's Monster, Frankenstein's Monster is that tall and linky, you know,
fucking you know, fucking we're you know, reincarnated, reincarnated, fucking
ditched up monster.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
Oh yeah, no, you're not wrong. The scene where he
throws the little girl into the lake. So originally the
story behind that was that there was a producer, there
was somebody like big working at Universal that didn't like
that scene. So they actually had to cut that scene
out and it went from he's throwing you know, flowers
(27:20):
into the lake to cutting to the father of the daughter,
you know, carrying her body out of the lake. But
it apparently that just made it worse because that just
made you know, Frankenstein's monster look even more like a monster.
So yeah, I don't know, can do you ever like
imagine what it would be like or just imagine how
like easily people were frightened back then, Like watching these
(27:43):
and theaters.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
There's people who actually like fainted and like you know,
fucking like thinking that the movie was real, you know, right,
That's why I had that. I don't know if you remember,
but at the very beginning of frank Guess I had
the you know, the the the guy that was kind
of like not like the narrator, but like the guy
that was opened up to the movie is.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Like, you know, I kind of like know you're gonna
be shocked and you know all that, So.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, I mean, if you have to, have you ever
seen or have you ever heard of Nail Hunter?
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Of the Hunter? I think it's actually on It's actually
on my shutter list.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
I watched that. It's a good one, isn't.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
That with Gregory Not Gregory Peck? What the fuck is
his name? In Shape? Out of Shape guy? What's his name?
Speaker 3 (28:38):
What?
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (28:41):
You don't watch family guys? Okay, who's the guy from
Kate Fear? The original?
Speaker 3 (28:45):
The fifties movie brother?
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, the original Kate Fear.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Oh, the original you're talking about de Niro, Robert Meet Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Is that is that Night of the Hunter?
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Okay, okay, yeah, I've heard of it. But again, I'm
not opposed to black and white film, so I'll give
anything a watch if you recommend it.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
I don't consider this a horror movie. I don't.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
I mean Cycle is good too, but another Hitchcock movie,
and that's it's one of my favorite movies all the time.
But it's it's thriller. It's more thriller than anything else.
But God, damn Rear Windows such a fucking good man.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
With Jimmy Stewart.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Yes, such a fucking good movie.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Man, Okay, man, they trying to remake They trying to
make it, remake it with fucking shyl above if with
disturb You, which which was interesting.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
So yeah, well there's another remake with chrispher Reeves. Oh yeah, okay, Oh,
what's your favorite modern horror film?
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Probably Hereditary?
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Okay, all right, I think I think you just said that.
I saw a Hereditarian film in theaters, and it's a
film that over the past seven years when it came out,
I've grown to appreciate it a little bit more because
I remember when it originally came out, I actually did
a review with it from a extront with an ex
fri end of mine, and I remember like not hating
(30:20):
it or even disliking it. I just was like, I
don't know, something about that film just didn't work for me.
I thought it was a little bit too artsy. And
but then over the years, when I've started to kind
of think about it and see more clips of it,
I started to appreciate little nuances about it, just you know,
camera work and editing and not so much that it
(30:41):
was scary, but just that overall feeling of dread, you know,
like that like the one scene where the scene where
What's with It where the girl gets her head knocked,
her head cut off, aid, yeah, that was that. I
didn't see that coming. Here's the thing. I saw it coming,
(31:02):
but I wasn't prepared for it. I wasn't prepared for
the severe and for the severity of it. And just
the scene where Peter he just goes home and he
doesn't even take the body out of the car, and
it's just the shot of him laying on it, like
laying in face in the camera, and you hear Tony
Colette walking outside and discovering, you know, the body of
(31:23):
her daughter in the car and not even just crying
but wailing. I guess I'll see to watch and to hear,
and you know, I, like everybody else, thought Tony Kalleett
should have been nominated for an Oscar. But you know,
the OSCARS has some weird boner with horror movies, so
(31:43):
I don't think, I know, but.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Another another few.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Modern movies get out obviously, that's really good. I watched
Sinners a few weeks ago for the first time.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Very good movie.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
I think that's I think that's probably one of the
best movies of the year.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
I will I will say I think it's my favorite
the year. Yeah this, you know, you know, I think
it's it's pretty damn good movie.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
I don't give a fuck with people's say about this movie,
and I understand why people don't really like it like that.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
But I like Halloween Kills.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Okay, I love Halloween Kills man, because the chills are
just so fucking like outrageous, and it has this little
I don't know, like it kind of reminds me of
a like in a way. The kills are so ridiculous.
It kind of reminds me of Friday, the thirties movie.
And that's why I like it so much. So, you know,
eyes popping out people's heads and you know, fucking you know,
(32:46):
you get a fucking forest and tube in the fucking throat.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
You know, she fucking survived, but whatever in the next movie.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
But you know, I just I just think the kills
are fucking outrageous in that movie.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
To the part, yeah, yeah, I dig this.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Whenever you saw the light to the just the party,
you go, nip fucking goage, nuke fucking cage. Hey what
whenever he stabs her with the light tube, did a
part of you just automatically think Nick fucking Gage.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
No, not at all. I wasn't. I wasn't thinking.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
I wasn't thinking about Nick Gage while watching Halloween inns
for the first it kills for the first time.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Well you know what I mean, like just deathmatch wrestling,
but yeah, I mean the the Halloween kills. It's one
of It's very much a divisive movie because there's there's
people like you that loved it and then people like
me who were just kind of like, what, like, it's
just you know, again, there was some stuff to like
(33:45):
about it. You know, I'm not gonna say it was
terribly shitty. It's just everyone being dumb as fuck for
the sake of being dumb as fuck. But the idea
of like a mob mentality making people dumb, I'm like, okay,
get it to a certain degree.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Well that part, that part didn't like, where it was
where it's all like evil Dice and nine Ages, you know,
forming into a fucking mob being like you.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Know, it's that that that that was. That was a
little bit stupid. No, that was a little bit stupid.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
But but I just like, like, I like the Handfield
trilogy because they actually made Handfield itself and the people
that are at like actual character, right, you didn't really
get that in that sense in the earlier films, you know,
like Halloween, and I like it to degree.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
I don't love it per.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Se, but I do like it to degree because it
wasn't supposed to be a Michael Meyer story.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
It was supposed to be, you know, a story of
you know, this fucking kid, you know what I mean
that kind of made a mistake and uh, you know,
and the whole town.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Was you know, on his ship you know, see was
found on I guess like not guilt to ever, like
he was ac quitted.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Charge whatever, but but like he was like this fucking outcast.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
And uh like when I as soon as I saw
the the olping tiles, when I saw it was in blue,
I was like, this is gotta be one of those movies.
Because when I saw when I saw the blue title car,
I'm like, oh, that's fucking Halloween three.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
That's Season the Witch.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
And it's sure enough, you know, it kind of became
Season of the Witch esque within the movie.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yeah, Season the Witch. I I haven't seen that. I've
heard pretty much what you just said.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
You gotta watch it, man, which was so good no.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
No, no, Like I've heard everyone kind of say the
same thing, is like it's the movie's not bad, it's
just they they didn't promote it correctly. They promoted it
as a Halloween film when in reality it really wasn't
a Halloween film. They should have just caught it something
like you know, from the Book of Halloween or something
like that.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Well, again, they did not attend it to be they
tend to be after the first Halloween movies, they wanted
to make Part three a news start because they were
gonna make an authology anthology series. Part four was gonna
be something different. Part five was gonna be something different.
It wasn gonna include anything with Michael Myers. Michael Myers
is the first two movies and that's it. Right then,
(36:18):
once people were like, oh fo Michael Martyrs and you know,
they brought it back. So so that's why Halloween throw
the end up be coming to Black Sheep. It was
a whole franchise. But but despite that, like if you
just remove it as oh, this is part of the
Halloween series, we just look as like as a horror
film alone, it is prett damn.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Good, Like what did you ever see that? Uh? Were
you a big fan of the Saw movies? Saw maybe like.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
The first couple, but like once the guy after like
Saw four, I'm like, I can't.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
Do this more. Well, yeah, there's it's not that you know,
was it with a spiral? Oh yeah?
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Yeah Chris Rock?
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Yeah, yeah, which Chris Chris Rock should probably never do
these movies ever again. But like it's kind of some Yeah,
it's just Chris Rock only has two modes, you know,
looking really seriously at people and yelling funny comedian but
not a good dramatic horror actor. But yeah, it's kind
(37:31):
of similar to that where it's just like, let's take
a property, but let's connect it to the franchise. But
well at the same time, leny, it be its own thing.
So I think that's a good example. But yeah, I'll
definitely check out Season the Witch. Yeah, what else? Yeah,
we've done a good thirty minutes talking about horror movies.
(37:51):
That was pretty pretty fun conversation.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Super gory movie by the way, too.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
Okay, uh, the last Saw that came out last last year,
the year BEFO. It was actually pretty good. But yeah,
I guess we can we can kind of move on
to the next topic. So over the weekend or on Saturday,
me and Jeff Lepman we covered Halloween Havoc for NXT.
(38:19):
We kind of felt the same way about the show
as a whole, which was it was a pretty decent show.
It's just you got two gimmick matches where they didn't
really feel like gimmick matches that pertain to what they
were supposed to be. And I know, last week and
you know, weeks prior, I always bring up like, why
(38:41):
is this called a street fight? When? Why is this
called a so and so street fight when it's just
a street fight, And you're always the first to be like, dude,
it's always been this way, But I guess for me,
it's just like so the match with Page and Wagner,
I actually thought it was pretty good. That was my
(39:01):
favorite match of the night. It's just, you know, it's Halloween,
and why not add some esthetic, you know, why not
bring in some like I don't know, Lucha Mexican kind
of like gimmicks, you know, to the match instead of
just like yeah. But other than that, it's just like,
you know, just kind of lazy booking. But overall, I
(39:23):
thought it was a really good match, and the Hardy's match,
which was basically just a TLC match it ended, yeah,
which I was kind of half and half on that match.
I thought there were some cool spots, but for the
most part I thought Jeff was the only one carrying
(39:45):
the match. I thought, I thought, really, that should have
just been like a fucking Hardy's compound match. That would
have been a lot.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
I don't disagree with that, right.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
But I've done not talking. What did you think about
the show?
Speaker 3 (40:01):
Fine, it wasn't great or anything like that.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
I mean, if they would have put this on NXT
on Tuesday, I mean, you know, I don't think it
would have been much of a difference. What I'm saying is,
I don't think this pit view was really needed in
the grand scheme of things.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
I can kind of see where you're coming from.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
It wasn't It wasn't bad by any means. I thought
it was good. But they could have done all this.
They could have just done this all last night.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
No, you're definitely not wrong, because for the past few years,
Halloween Haddock has usually just been an NXT, you know,
thing on Tuesday, and now that ww's in a different
mode of everything needs we need content for everything. Everything
needs to be for you. It's just like, Okay, that's
the case, like do something big for your shows, like
(40:53):
make your shows interesting. But in this case, I was
just like, yeah, seven and a half out of ten.
I guess, how did you like? What was your favorite
match of the night.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
I'm probably the Ethan Page and uh a heel.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
Yeah, it was really good. Like you know, Ethan got color.
So I mean he looked great out there. I you know,
I you know me, I thoroughly enjoy anything Ethan Page
does on the show. And uh, Wagner, I like what
he did out there. Aside from the last spot where.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
He's really good, He's always been very good for years.
Is now now he's finally kind of gaining that spotlight now.
So you know w W they wanted to sign him.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Well, I mean, I mean.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
He has signed with w W, but you know what
I mean, they wanted to sign him, you know, like
a like a year or two ago, and you know
they got He's definitely a someone that you got to
watch a few times to kind of get get it
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
No, I get you. I thought, because me and Jeff
did agree on this, I thought Matches two, three, and
four were the best for some of the best stuff
of the night. Everything else surrounding that I thought we
both thought wasn't that great. The opening match was not
that great or particularly interesting, the Hardy's match, aside from
(42:19):
from some cool spots that, like I said, should have
been a Hearty's compound match, and the main event I
thought was kind of boring. It didn't. I didn't think
it was by means a bad match. I just thought
it was really generic and by the numbers and just
kind of very predictable. And I've kind of come to
the conclusion that I like Ricky Saints a lot. I
(42:43):
just I don't see him as the guy. I see
him as one of the guys. I think he's good
in NXT. I think his ceiling on the main roster is,
you know, mid card intercontinental US champion, and Trick Williams
is more than likely going to be on the main
(43:04):
roster by the rumble or even before that. So happy
that Blake won. I think I think even if Soul
didn't get hurt, Blake would have won anyway, and it
sets up Azaria heel turn. I'm very happy that that
Tatum won. I I'm happy for Tatum I'm happy. I'm
(43:25):
happy for U for Jase's title reign. It's it's one
of those things where it's like, if she didn't lose
it to Tatum, then who you know, would they have
done something with maybe Fallon, but that would have probably
been a little forced, but very I'm very I'm very
happy for Tatum. You know, it's kind of well earned.
(43:46):
So what what would you I guess what kind of
grade would you give the show if.
Speaker 3 (43:49):
You had to? Probably A seven? Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Think I think gave it the same writing, but that
was hollowing, havoc everything else. Uh, you know, SmackDown. SmackDown
was kind of skippable last week other than you know,
you had Dragon Off versus Alster Black, but I think
everyone kind of knew where that match was going. It
(44:20):
didn't go anywhere because, uh, Damien Priests interfered and then
Dragon Off you know.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
Won the match.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
Jade Cargill turnheel finally, so it sets up this Saturday,
and then uh Raw again. Raw was basically just a
setup show for this Saturday. You know, you had seam
Punk and jay Us which, as you can imagine, see
them punk when the won the promo battle and everything
(44:49):
else on the show was kind of eh. You know,
JD McDonough pinned Seamus, so that was kind of that
was kind of neat that Seamless is putting over JD,
which I'm which I'm mad before because I think ja
he has been doing a really good job since coming back.
But I guess before we get into a Saren Night's
main event, do you have any thoughts on a SmackDown raw?
Speaker 5 (45:10):
No?
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Okay, okay, he just went no.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
No.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
I mean, well, was there today or going de dive
in that since it will be a waste of time.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
I know, it's just funny, all right. So Sarten Night's
main event is November first. It's gonna be Salt Lake City,
Utah in the Delta Center, and so far there's four
matches and it's gonna be the first Satura Night's main
event on Peacock as well as available over in UH
international markets on YouTube and I believe Netflix, So we
(45:46):
don't worry about these little, these pesky little commercials, all right.
So Seren Night's main event, Dominic Mysterial will be defending
the Intercontinental Championship Intial Threat match against pent and Russeph.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
I got dom Britaining.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, Dom's gonna for retain. He's gonna pull some Eddie
Guerrero Fuckery. Tiffany Stratton versus Jade Cargill and a singles
match for the w W Women's Championship mentioned before, Jade
Cargill is now a heel. She turned on Tiffany or
she beat up Tiffany.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
I got Jade winning and she becomes her first singles style.
I guess her first singles.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Title, so we'll go with that too, and I think
that also sets up a mania for next year Jade
and biaka. Yeah. Cody Rhodes versus Drew McIntyre for the
WWE Championship. I got Cody, Unfortunately, I think Cody's gonna win,
even though I would love I Drew one because said
(46:53):
time and time again, it's like Drew should be rewarded
for his good work last year. But I know, WW
there's a booking.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
Everybody has to be rewarded for their good work.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
I mean, I mean, I agree he should be for long,
but I mean, you know, you know there there's.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
There's levels.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
I don't know, but it's just like Cody can lose
a title for a month and he'll be fine, but whatever.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
When that devalue the world title?
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Not really, I mean not to me. But and the
main event you have CM Punk versus Jay Usso for
the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, I got him punk, see
him punk. Uh, there's gonna be some fuckery, probably with Jimmy,
maybe the maybe the vision gets involved. I don't know,
(47:44):
but see him punk. I can't really think of it.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
Honestly.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
If if you want me to be really honest, neither
neither or world champion right now?
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Okay, I get I get Jay, Why not see him?
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Why does see them title?
Speaker 2 (48:01):
Yeah? A good point. Well, he's kind of a safe bet.
I'll say this.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
I think with Jason, I think Jay will probably be
I almost say, more deserving him. I think it'll be
more interesting when Jay would win the title with this
new character versus Sam Punk as it right now. I
think that'll be more interesting. I'm not picking Jane. I
don't think he's gonna win. I just think it possibly
be a little bit more interesting. But honestly, neither or
should be champion be breaker that so it should be
(48:29):
the champion, it should be bron breaker. But again, I
think they're gonna be saying something else with Sam Punk
and bron Breaker, where Punk officially gives bron Breaker a
program for the fans to believe in him they can
be world champion, and yeah, he ends up winning the
world title from Sampunk.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
I think that's the possible direction that they're gonna goin.
Speaker 2 (48:52):
I agree. I think I think Jimmy might inadvertently cost
Jay the title. I do think that that might get
involved in some way. There's gonna be a lot of
Gaga in this match. I can I would. I wouldn't
doubt that at all. But to your point, I can
see why you would say maybe Punk doesn't need to
be Champing because you know, I think he's punk. He's over,
(49:14):
he doesn't really need a title. But it's one of
those things, like you see, I'm Punk. It's more of
a safe bet to put the title on him now
that you know Seth is out and you know he
needs a draw. He's a you know whatever you start so,
but you know, all in, I think I think Punk
is winning more than likely.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
It really should be Punk versus Elle Knight, to be honest,
but I understand why Jay's here. I understand what the
I understand the story that they're telling and I am
interested in it.
Speaker 3 (49:47):
It's just that reality. I think Ellie Knight could have
had a chance.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
And even at that, even Ellie still say it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
It should be fucking round Breaker.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
I don't think anyone there's there's no one on the
roster right now that that I want to have elseb
World Champion right now than Brown Brecker.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
To give him, give him the belt, them run with it.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
If it doesn't work, by fucking Royal Rubbletics, all of them.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Yeah, I think Broun. You know, one of the things
about Seth being out is this allows Braun to kind
of spread his wings and be interesting or be interesting again.
And having them work with Punk I think is going
to be the best thing in the world for him,
you know, pun intended. Yeah, well we'll see what. We'll
see how that works out. But that's Sart's main event.
(50:39):
Here's kind of a fun little thing I want to
do with you, since you're since you're a big wrestling fan,
since you're a wrestling historian, and you know.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
It's keeping but sure.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
Since we're keeping up with the thing of folloween, I
found a list of every w c W Halloween havoc
event ranked from or I guess mixed up with the
worst to best. Jesus Christ. You just kind of give
me your thoughts and we'll have fun. Number twelve is
(51:11):
Halloween Havoc two thousand was the worst edition of the event. Yeah,
and that was Booker t was the World Champion. One
is titled by DQ or one is title matched by DQ,
but that wasn't in the main event. The main event
was Goldbert versus Chronic in a handicap match that lasted
(51:33):
under four minutes. So anyways, Actually, here's the match card
because they have for the World Tag Team Championships, natural
Born Thrillers versus The Filthy Animals, and Boogie Nights. For
the WCW Hardcore Championship, Reno versus Sergeant a Wall, Misfits
(51:55):
in Action defeated The Perfect Event, The Filthy Animals defeated
Sane Douglas and Tory Wilson, and he first Blood DNA match.
Buff Bagwell defeated David Flair.
Speaker 3 (52:08):
Jesus Christ, I forgot about that fucking feud.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
In a kickboxing match, Mike Sanders defeated Ernest the Cat
Mailer via count out.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, above average by the way.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
Mike Awesome defeated Vampiro. W CW United States Championship General,
Jen Direction defeated Land Storm and Jim Duggan. Jeff Jarrett
defeated Sting. Booker t defeated Scott Steiner to retain the
(52:42):
w CW World title via DQ And oh, now I'm
remembering this. This is when Goldberg was putting his career
on the line in every match. Goldberg defeated Chronic.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Yeah, it was like a five minute match, whatever the
fuck it was.
Speaker 2 (52:58):
Yeah, number of Halloween Havoc ninety nine was a Vince
Russo creative mess.
Speaker 3 (53:05):
Jesus fucking Christ.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Do you remember anything about this?
Speaker 3 (53:11):
I don't want.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
Well, I'll just read what they wrote. And had one
of the most confusing endings to any world title match
in Starcade, when Sting beat Hulk Cogan and a screw
finished years before. What is ironic is that the world
title match here was also Sting versus hul Cogan. This
time Sting came in as champion, but Hogan refused to
rustle and laid down for Sting to pin him. Sing
(53:38):
then came out and said that he wanted to fight
someone that night. And I mean Goldberg came out and
beat him. The problem was that it wasn't a scheduled
world title match. I remember that, but they gave Goldberg
the title anyway, which caused a lot of confusion. The
next nine at Night TROW was a complete dud of
a show, despite some big names. Yeah, Disco Inferno defeated
(54:03):
Lash the Roue for the Cruiserweight title. The Harlem Heat
defeated Filthy Animals and the First Family for the World
Tag Team Championships. Eddie Guerrero defeated Perry Saturn via d Q.
Brad Armstrong defeated Berlin Rick Steiner defeated Chris Benwah for
the TV Championship. The Total Package defeated Brett Hart, Sting
(54:27):
defeated Hogan. Goldberg defeated Said Vicious.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
Hold On, hold On, hold On.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
Did Sting defeat Hogan? You know what happened in that match?
Holgan laid down for Sting and it was a three
second or five second match kind of like kind of
like when fucking Jared laid down for Hogan.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
So Holgen laid Remember when Bash of the.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Beach when Jared laid down for Hogan And you know, yeah, right,
So that so that really happened a few months prior.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
At this event, we're holding laid down for Steing. Oh God,
I love I love this fucking company.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
DDP defeated Ric Flair in a strap match, and then
Goldberg defeated Singh for the World Headweight Championship. Halloween Havoc
ninety eight was a poor show, savage by a strong
main event. I remember that Chris Jerico defeated Raven for
the TV Championship. Wrath defeated meng U, Disco Inferno defeated

the United States Championship. Hul Cogan defeated The Warrior and
one of the worst matches ever you know, and involved
a poorly timed Fireball spot, which you know is very infamous,
which you know again people bring up, you know, years
(56:25):
prior they had one of the most memorable matches at Mania,
and then years later they end up having one of
the worst matches of all time. So, uh, you remember
that match, right?
Speaker 3 (56:35):
No?
Speaker 2 (56:36):
I don't, Okay, gold Goldberg.
Speaker 3 (56:41):
I watched, I watched, I watched this. I watched this
athing live.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
Yeah, for the World Headway Championship Goldberg versus d DP
again a very good match. But the feed cut off
was it during the match?
Speaker 1 (56:54):
You know?
Speaker 3 (56:54):
You know what? You know that that's that's bullshit.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
It did It did not cut off for me and
only cut off for like like a very small amount
of viewers. And WWE they may like it like in
fucking REVIGIONUS history they may like like a like a
oh man, everyone didn't get see I remember seeing the
match live, so that it never that never happened to me.
(57:19):
So and it happened with fucking fucking was a Paragon cable.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
Back in back in nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Yeah, it's weird. I do kind of remember the match,
and I remember the very next night on night shows
they replayed the match so people can watch it but yeah, yeah,
that was one of Goldberg's better matches. You know, we
had DDP to kind of help lead them. But yeah,
again that was kind of the beginning of the end
for this company. Uh number nine and this is this
(57:57):
is everything that's just kind of ranked the main event
matches at Halloween Havoc ninety two were all a letdown.

know who He's like, yeah you are, but I.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
Do it matters to me, It's real to me, damn it.
For the w CW World Heavyweight Championship, Ron Simmons defeated
the Barbarian and then Sting defeated Jake Roberts in a
coal miners glove match, and we'll make the deal. What's
a coal miners glove match?
Speaker 3 (59:19):
It was just a fucking it was just like a
laded glove on a pole match, pretty much.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
Number eight, the Yettie debuted in an infant Jesus Christ
infamously bad main event at a Halloween Havoc ninety five.
Speaker 1 (59:38):

where where Sting trusted Flair, but Flair turned on him anyway,
and the foes are reformed again.
Speaker 3 (01:00:38):

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
So your prayers, took your vitamins and kill the Giant. Brother.
Randy Savage defeated Lex Luthor or Lex Luger Jesus Christ
not Lex Luthor. The Giant defeated Hulk Hogan via DQ
for the World Adweight Championship. So and then the YETI

I don't really think master for this audience.
Speaker 2 (01:09:39):
So, uh, Cruiserweight Championship match title versus mask Eddie Guerrero
versus Raymonsterio, which a lot of people still talk about
to this day. That originally, well you should see it
justin it's a it's good ship. No, Originally, I think
that Eddie talked about in his book wherever. That match
(01:10:03):
was supposed to be a little longer, and Eric Bischoff
wanted Eddie to win because he wanted to take off
Ray's mask. But Eddie, you know, thought for He's like, no,
don't take off his mask, you know, because ABC and D.
So I think the match end up being like seven
eight minutes and it still wanted to be one of
the greatest matches that you know, one of the best
(01:10:23):
WCW matches and just one of the best matches periods.
So again, an awesome match obviously, you know you have
Eddie in there, you had Ray in there to make
it work, and I think it won Match of the
Year that year, if I'm not mistaken or I don't.
I don't know how the PW I worked at that time,
but I remember it did one Match of the Year.
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
I'll look it up real quick as you as you
continue here, but for what was from nineteen ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
But yeah, do you have any quick thoughts on that match?
Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
No, it was a great match.
Speaker 1 (01:11:00):
Yeah, I don't know, I don't know what else we
can say that hasn't already been said about. It's one
of the most influential matches in wrestling history, so everyone
everyone as tribute to it. Well, why am I gonna
say that's gonna be different from everyone else?
Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
You know?
Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
Oh, just asking. Alex Wright defeated Steve, Steve McMichael, Jacqueline and.
Speaker 1 (01:11:26):

the year that for the rest of the Observer newsletter
back in nineteen ninety seven was not Eddie and Raymond Stereo.
It was a w w F match Brett Harberstone Coast, Boston.
Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
Okay, it's because Okay, so I saw a picture of
ray Ed that year next to some dude with one
of those p w I plaques.
Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
No, no, so you had p w I and yeah,
Pro Wrestling Illustrate. That must have been Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Match of the Year.
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Okay, all right, all right, so as.
Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
You continue, I'll look that up real quick.
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
Okay, all right. Jacqueline defeated Disco Inferno. Kurt Henning defeated
Rick Flair via DQ for the US Championship. I know
it's a lot of DQ's on these shows, Lex Lugor.
Luger defeated Scott Hall. Randy Savage defeated DDP in a
Las Vegas sudden death match. I'm assuming it's just a
(01:12:32):
street fight. And Roddy Piper defeated hul Cogan in a
steel cage match. So yeah, number two, Halloween Havoc ninety
six was a consistent show.
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
And before you continue there por russelling Illustrate.
Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
I don't know which it's all, but Port Wrestley Illustraight
is also a Stone Cold and Brett Hart.
Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Okay again, I okay, I just saw a picture and
just based off of that, but.
Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
Yeah, I'm not too sure.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
I mean it co won Match to the Year, but
I mean according to p W, I in to Meltzer,
they gave it to stone Cote and Brett Hart.
Speaker 2 (01:13:11):

Speaker 1 (01:14:53):
They they renamed their fucking World title for for first
place second for to be just the fucking international.
Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
World have within.
Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
It was confusing, and then then they made They're like, oh, well,
you know, well rick Rick rud is officially known as
a world champion. So so it's like one of those
the bates, like was Rick Wood actually a world champion?
I say yes, because he was. He carried the big
gold belt. That's the way I look at it.
Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
You know, a big gold belt was gorgeous, and the
main event you had Big Van Vader defeating Cactus Jack
in a Texas deathmatch. So any thoughts on.
Speaker 1 (01:15:30):
That I somewhat agree with that list ninety three is
definitely one of the best Halloween havocs.
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
I think I'll probably play number one. Yeah. It's really
a really good show.
Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
All right. And one little tidbit, it's kind of like,
you know, fun facts. Five years ago today on nxc UK,
Walter who's now goon the successfully defended the nxc UK
Championship against Ilia dragging Off and a match that won
over twenty five minutes. I remember that match. That was
an amazing match that was obviously during COVID, and that
(01:16:09):
was without a doubt, the best match of that year.
Do you remember that match at all, and do you
have any thoughts on it?
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Yeah, I believe we talked about that match at nauseum
almost it was one of the most violent matches I've
ever seen, not to be used with weapons. Amazing match.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
Yeah, especially like obviously when there wasn't any people in
the arena.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
That that added to the match because there was no people.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Seeing those chops like Jesus Christ. But yeah, and also
a happy birthday Paul Orndorf. Today is his birthday. He

I mean, I just want to make sure we h
we put down a record rest in peace to the
late great Paul on Door.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Yes, sir mess in piece, mister Wonderful. But that's the
show we did about We're doing about seventy five minutes.
I think that's pretty much a sweet spot. Maurice is
saying his Blue Jays are one more game away to
win the World Series. Good for you. Good for you, Maurice,
(01:17:30):
and and our Spurs are doing pretty good so far.
Are therefore no.
Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
Very early in the season, but I am very encouraged
to what I see so far.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
I so, you know, pore get into the plugs. So,
me and my friend Anthony, we put out our new podcast,
our basketball podcast. It's a Metal Metal Drive Hoops.
Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
And we with the name Metal Drive.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Well it's a takeoff of the well it's not even
gonna take it's the street that we grew up on. Okay,
so so metow Drive and then we just I added hoops.
It's possible we might even change the name later. For
the time being, it's a Metal Drive Hoops. And we
just talked about basketball things basketball. We talked about the
gambling controversy that's going on, and of course we talked
(01:18:22):
about this first season. And you know, I'm I mean
obviously unlike you, what I'm saying, I I'm very much
impressed by Dylan Harper, you know, I mean this, I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:18:36):
This was expected for me, Like like as soon as
I seen this kid's game back at Ruggers, I'm like,
this guy's gonna be a fucking animal to where every
team he goes to, and he luckily came to us,
And I can't believe there was actually people out there
who didn't want to take him. I'm like, you take
you take talent and you figure it out, like you're
not gonna leave fucking you're not gonna draft fucking like
(01:18:56):
Ace Bailey or whatever, you know, over Dylan Harper like that.
That's no, no, not at all.
Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
I'm very pleasantly surprised by him, you know. And it's
I don't think he'll win Rookie of the Year. I think,
if anything, it's gonna be Cooper, even though.
Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Well, I mean, I know it's early in this season,
but I don't know if you've been seeing his fucking
ship that he's been doing, uh.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
Well, it doesn't Yeah, yeah, it doesn't help that they're
fucking starting at point guard. That's dumb that that that
that's me.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
Doesn't really matter. But but you know, we did.
Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
I mean tonight tonight he had a bad game. He
had a double double knight, But but you know what
he had the night before. M hmm, there's not many
points he had. I think we had two, right, yeah,
two fucking points.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
I don't know, man, Like, I mean, it's very very
early in the season.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
But when we didn't, when we didn't have no fucking
two point game is rookie season.
Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
That's all I'm saying, right, I mean, I'm saying Cooper
if anything, because he's gonna get more minutes, and when
Fox comes back, you're gonna see Harper's minutes kind of
dwindle a little bit, not too much.
Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
No, because I still think he'll be first off the bench.
Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
I think I think whoever's like, I think the guy
that's that's gonna be getting less minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
Is probably Champagne.
Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
Yeah, probably probably this just my guess, probably Champagne because
he can't play defense worth the league.
Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
He can shoot the ball, but he can't play defense
worth the league.
Speaker 1 (01:20:31):
Dear Ken, at least, you know, play on the perimeter,
you know, And they're not They're not. No, You're not
going to stifle Dann Harper's growth at all, you know
what I mean? And why I think once Sohan comes
back to I think, uh part Briant, he's gonna go down.
Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
To the G League.
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
He he needs he needs time down there to develop
before he uh kind goes back up in plays full time.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
I'm it's funny he'll played one game and he's you know,
been hurt. But Cornett, I really I'm really digging. I
think he's great.
Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
Yeah, he's played a couple of games. Yeah, I think
he missed the last game. I think he's played.
Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
He did three so far well because he no, he
only played in the first game of the season because
he got he got an ankle injury. But from when
I heard, it's not that serious.
Speaker 3 (01:21:23):
No, I think he played like two or I think
he played like the first three. The first three games,
I think, oh no, but but see, I'll confirm real quick.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Yeah, he played the first game, he had like sixteen
and eleven, and then the second one he Yeah, he
was noticeably absent because he currently has an ankle injury.
Who's the other other dude, Olennick Key's. I don't know
how long he's gonna be out because he just had
surgery as well. But again, I'm loving the season. It's
(01:21:52):
just the last two games was kind of the same game.
Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Where basically the first two games. I'm sorry he played
the first two games. I guess he got injured in
the Pelicans game, so yeah, okay, but I forgot we
played the fucking Nets on Sunday afternoon.
Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
I watched the game at the Shot, but I forgot
about that game because it was in the afternoon.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
But the last two games, like they won, but they're
kind of ugly ones where they have these big ass
leads and they really should have held on to them.
They still won, but it's like they knew they need
to do a better job at tightening up their leads.
Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
And also that's why Dannon Fox is so important, because
he will make sure that you know, he will slow
down the pace he can gets to the free throw line.
Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
He doesn't miss his free throws.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
He's you know, so the the biggest issue I'm seeing
with the Spurs right now is, again and I've been
seeing this the last couple of years, we cannot defend
three point shot. We just cannot for whatever reason, we
cannot defend the three point shot. And that's what kills
us in games. Yeah, four and oh right now, But
(01:23:03):
in reality we could be we definitely could be two
and two in reality, but we're four and o right now.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
So I'll take it, of course.
Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
But but so far, so good, you know, I you know,
if it continues like I could see, it's be a
top four maybe the top three seed team in the
in the West. Right the only team I don't really
see ahead of us is Denver. Okay, see yeah, okay,
(01:23:30):
see And maybe when they're healthy. Maybe when they're healthy
and once they start clicking and everything. Maybe the Lakers
because they got they got a bunch of talent over there. Man,
fucking Austin Reeves scored fifty the other night. So it's like,
you know, you can't you can't count them out either.
But but I'll say that, man, I don't as of
right now, I don't really see like, I'm sorry, like
(01:23:51):
I never really got I never really got the Mavericks.
I really don't really understand why people are on the
Mavericks bandwagon.
Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
A d well think Davis is to me, his name
is Dave to Davis, because that's what it is these day. Him.
Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
Then you then you got Cooper who's not ready yet,
Kyrie's injured. I don't I don't see the Marvericks being
I see the marriage being like a six or seventh seed, honestly.
And the Rockets, I'm sorry, they don't have a point guard.
You don't have a point guard to fucking slow down
your fucking page. You have a point guard to to
h Dick take the pace that this big lineup ship
is not gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
Work for you, guys. It's just not sorry, it's not
gonna work for you at the end of the day. Uh.
The other teams in the West, like, uh, the Warriors
is still pretty good. Uh, the Clippers is okay.
Speaker 1 (01:24:41):
I think there's like a lot of middling teams, a
lot of milling teams there, like the timber Wolves.
Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
I think they're gonna come back.
Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
Now, the team, the team that I think that's gonna
make some noise is the Blazers, and the Blazers is
gonna make some noise this year.
Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
Interesting interesting choice, Like, yeah, the it's funny. Houston does
have a point guard and he was a top four
pick a few years ago and they don't even play him.
So it's just like I don't get it. But like,
who's that Reed Shepard?
Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
He's not a point guard?
Speaker 2 (01:25:13):
I mean he's point guard.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
He's he's he's not.
Speaker 2 (01:25:20):
Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (01:25:22):
He has no he has no handle. He's not he's
not a point guard. He's not a ball Like, like,
I don't I don't know why he listened as a
point guard. He doesn't play like a point guard whatsoever.
There they have really, they got they got Aaron a Holiday,
and they got Van But Van Vliet is gonna be
out for a while. But yeah, they I won't be
(01:25:43):
surprised that if they make a move to trade off
someone like a Tari Sin or a Clint compelled to
bring in an actual fucking point guard, even a backup
to Van Vliet when he comes back, because they they
desperate need that ship.
Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
No agreed, The East is kind of one sided at
the moment because this almost this pretty much seems like
it's gonna be New York's year. Like if they don't
get to the finals, that's kind of that's gonna be
kind of.
Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
A bus I humbly disagree with that.
Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Okay, so who else is? Who else out in the East?
Speaker 4 (01:26:22):
You got?
Speaker 1 (01:26:22):
You got the Bucks, you got the Pistons, you got
the Cavaliers. It's not that easy ride for the Knicks now.
I at the end of the day, I do believe
the Knicks is that's my pick coming out of the East.
I agree with that portion, but I don't think it's
that apparent. I don't think it's like, oh, it's a
you know, it's you know, win or bus for them.
(01:26:43):
I I don't I don't see that at all.
Speaker 2 (01:26:46):
Okay, I mean I don't see the Bucks doing anything anymore. Yeah,
you have Giannis, you have Miles Turner. But other than that,
I don't really see them doing much. I see them
obviously getting to the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:26:57):
I think they got they got look you're you're looking
at from a from a star standpoint. They got talent
over there that you know what Giannis has around around
him right now that he hasn't had in a few years.
If you have to take a guess, what does Giannis
have on this team currently right now? They hasn't had
a few years. Defense shooting, shooting that has nothing to
(01:27:24):
do with defense, Like their defense is not that great.
They got he has shooting around him, Kevin Porter, Ryan Rawlins,
Cole Anthony, even A J.
Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
Green.
Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
They can all get buckets. Gary Trent, they got all
shoot the fucking mall. Gary Harris, they got all to
shoot the ball. Torian Prince, they all shoot the ball.
Kyle Kuzma, I'm not counting him because he sucks, but
but they can all shoot the ball. And I'm not
saying the Bucks are going to the finals, but I
wouldn't be surprised if they did go to the finals
that day. They and they and they're probably one move
(01:27:53):
away too as well. I mean the East is wide open.
I don't think it's I wouldn't be surprised if the
Bucks come out. I won't be surprised the Pistons come out.
I wouldn't even be surprised if the fucking Hawks get
their shit together and Trey Young got injured it I
wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks come out of the fucking.
Speaker 3 (01:28:08):
East, right. No, But I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
I still look at it as like New York, this
is kind of their year to get to the finals,
because Boston ain't doing shit anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
I mean, I mean everyone's injured, so he just got Philly.
Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
Other than you know, VJ. Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey being
you know, fun as fuck to watch, I don't think
they're doing anything.
Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
I mean, I mean they're four and oh right now, yeah,
even Paul George is not even in the fucking lineup,
and and B's playing twenty minutes the night he b
last night.
Speaker 3 (01:28:46):
In twenty minutes, you know what B did last night?
In fucking twenty minutes? What B last night? He had?
Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
I believe it was twenty five seven rebounds and like
five assists in.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
Like twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
Jesus Christ like, don't count.
Speaker 1 (01:29:05):
Don't count fucking sixers either, you know what I mean.
But they gotta be healthy, of course, Like and that's
the that's the only big question with them is health.
Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
So you know, and by the day it's embiid.
Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
Yeah, well this Embeid and fucking Paul George because Paul
George is you know, he's starting to fucking break down too,
you know.
Speaker 3 (01:29:23):
But but they got Quinn Grimes over.
Speaker 1 (01:29:25):
There, you know, edgecumb like like everyone's hyping him up
at that first game. I'm like, at he's a he's
a good player, He's gonna be really good in the league.
But I just don't really see him being as good.
I don't see him making being fucking thirty points at night.
I don't see that fucking.
Speaker 3 (01:29:44):
Ship, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
So but yeah, again, the NBA is back and we're happy.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
So uh, no surprise.
Speaker 1 (01:29:55):
I got here that that that may not come out
of the East, but like at least be a playoff team.
Speaker 2 (01:30:00):
Mhm.
Speaker 1 (01:30:02):
I got the fucking if they if they can, because
I see talent over there, and and if they can
put together a little bit of wining streak, I can
see the Washington Wizards make some noise, maybe a play in.
Not necessarily players, but like like play in tournament play
and get out there. They got some talent over there.
Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
I love when teams, you know, they haven't done anything
in the wild, start to make a little bit of noise.
Like I get tired of seeing the same teams make
the playoffs every year. I mean other than my team,
of course, but like, you know, I'm I'm happy. I'm
happy for the Pistons that they start to get their
ship together, you know, like like the like you know,
(01:30:44):
the Wizards. You know, be interesting if the Wizards made
a little bit of a run, you know, on the
play in or the playoffs. The Bulls. You know, the
Bulls are undefeated, Which how did that happen? Like, and
I'm happy for the Bulls.
Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
It's early, Necessarily, I really don't see the Bulls being
major players at the end of the day. I don't
really see Honestly, I don't really see the Pistons being
major players at the end of the day. The Spurs, yeah,
we're four and all right now, but who knows, maybe
maybe maybe we're fucking seventh seed team oright eight CE team.
I don't know, you know what I mean, like, you know,
(01:31:21):
as of right now, I don't really see it because
I'm seeing the.
Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
I'm seeing.
Speaker 1 (01:31:25):
I think our talent is better, way better than the
fucking Bulls and way better than the fucking seventy six ers.
Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
And they don't got fucking Wimby either.
Speaker 1 (01:31:34):
Like maybe's like a you know, right now, he's like
top three, top five player in the league. You know,
if you say top three, I'm not gonna argue that,
but I you know, I put Winby, but like probably
number four currently, you know what I mean. In the league,
it's like you know, you know, I don't really see
these teams, like like the Bulls, like the seventy sixers,
(01:31:58):
you know, like like the Jazz, the Jazz is you know,
I think they're about.
Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
To go three and one.
Speaker 1 (01:32:02):
I don't know if they're winning their game right now,
but I think I think they're down right now to
the Blazers right now, if I think, if I if
I'm not mistaken. But regardless though, like I don't only
see like those teams really do anything at the end
of the day, because.
Speaker 3 (01:32:16):
There's teams that start off hot early and they just
crumple away.
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
Yeah, I mean, there could be injuries that could be
whatever the case may be, but I certainly hope that that, Yeah,
we do see some new blood in the playoffs this year,
or at least in the plane.
Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
That being said, Dy Experience Twitter or Twitter x dy
Experience YouTube channel. We got a few new subscribers are
out on seventy one, but I believe it was the
same as last week. So but it's still pretty still
pretty good news. So and then speaker, as I mentioned,
there's the Supporters Club, which you know, for us little
(01:33:00):
fee of three bucks a month, you'll be hearing some
new content that we put out. Like I mentioned before,
I just put out like a almost like a twenty
five to thirty minute episode where it's just about Halloween,
you know, movie recommendations or or horror movies. Horror movie
recommendations on Halloween. So check that out as well as
(01:33:22):
the new show I have with my friend Anthony uh
just called a Metal Drive Hoops if you're a basketball fan,
and that's gonna be every Sunday. It's a pre recorded
we should be doing one this weekend. He's gonna be
out of town. He's actually gonna be out of the country,
so we're kind of we're actually gonna have to figure
out a time going I think to Korea or if
(01:33:48):
I'm not mistaken, but we're after we're not gonna figure
out a time because it's gonna be one of those
things of I were early in the morning, so if
I'm working early, he's gonna be out at night. And
if I'm home at night, he's gonna be up early.
So we're gonna have to figure out a way to record.
But I think we'll figure something out as well as
Friendly Marks RJ and Culture Attack with Ruben. So but
(01:34:12):
uh yeah, that's enough for me. Uh, just and tell
the people things.
