Speaker 1 (00:02):
Them boys got the build more times the Johnson. Yeah
all right, them boys got to build more times to
John Cena. My just tagged than the fuck But she
is not leader. You ain't never been a wagon or
only copy.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
They used to not see me back then. I guess I'm.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Trying to see the total shut the fuck up. She
needs an attitude that just need to add a boost.
I might take some magic stroms or something. I'll go
chrome pants on like I'm Taboo or souther right looking
like it's Star Wars on that boo, or some hustle
loyalty respect my little hustle code. I get spoiled with
a check that pendantio Nick Green, I boiled my beget
busting plays on the Wild West and coiled in my
test ed never give up. If life knock you down, Shit,
(00:40):
you better sit up. It's only teving. I'm a remember
catching the bus Nott's testas enough, Remember sitting in the bag.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Nize del to the front.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yeah, just the tests right now, caught a bitch the prototype.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
I had to check the stream because I had an
issue the other day with me and my friend Anthony's
a basketball podcast where we had did a whole show. Oh,
but for whatever reason, it didn't stream live on YouTube,
and mainly because, like my dumbass decided, whenever I was
setting up the the stream, I put a I put
(01:14):
a timer on it. So, yeah, why would you do that?
I don't know. I was trying to. I was trying
something new when I thought it would be helpful when
it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
That's what happens. You try to do new ship and
you fuck it up.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, Like I hit start stream and then there was
an option saying make sure to hit go live or whatever,
and I just kind of ignored that. And it was
a it was a really good show, and we had
a lot of content, and I I was thinking, like,
should could OBS have at least saved our stream? Like
maybe the audio? No, no, no, it's is not all fucking.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Unless unless you hit record because you have in your
obs you have, Yeah, you start recording and start streaming
tab if you hit start recording, now, mind you, if
you do that, if you start recording, starts streaming, you
your fucking PC's gonna chug. I don't I don't recommend
you doing that, but if you want to try it,
(02:14):
you can, but I don't recommend it.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Okay, we're good. I'm showing that there's people. It's showing
that there's people in the chat room and on YouTube
it says we're live.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
So well, No, I'm just talking about like for like
for like next time, if you ever.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I know, we're live now, but I'm just saying, like right,
Indian And so if you decide to do something like that,
if you're like, oh look, maybe all hit start recording,
I wouldn't recommend doing that.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
No no, no, no, no, no no, what you mean. It's just
like again that was that was on me, that I'd
messed that up. But yeah, we're good. We're already live
in the YouTube chat What's up YouTube? Which we're currently
at one eight subs. I'll reactually at one eighty or
is it like, uh no, we're actually at one eighty.
I checked. We are definitely at one hundred and eighty subs.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Uh maybe maybe being at one seventy five by then
night again, I don't know, who know, God damn it.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Don't put that kind of bad juju on us, man,
But yeah, no, we're we're at one eighties. So appreciated people,
So hopefully we can hit our goal before the end.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
They let's the YouTube chat looking like right now, like,
who's all over there?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
God, my cat almost walked on my laptop? Can you
get your place? Thank you? Sorry? Pepper, that's my cat, Pepper.
She's a she's a sweet cat.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
But uh is she relates to the salt.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Uh no, but we have a cat named Chili. So
we have two uh spice cats.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
You got hey, you got two and you got two
of you know, one one from the girl band and
one from San Pepper exactly.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yeah, she's a sweet cat. But like, cats don't understand technology,
but I don't expect them to because they're cats. But anyways, people,
we are alive. We are alive on the YouTube chat.
It is Wednesday, and uh yeah we're back and it's
the second till I show the year, and uh you
already know who I am. I'm Drew and with me
(04:12):
as always.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Justin for spy most and spine mostertes dot com.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
And if anyone's listening on the YouTube chat, welcome, welcome,
and of course anyone listening.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Well, what's our what's our chat over there right now?
Anyone over there right now?
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Not yet, we're at one concurrent viewer, but I'm pretty
sure it will grow, just like the Discord chat. But uh,
we're here to talk about a big weekend in wrestling.
We had to say goodbye to John Cena for now
dot dot dot for now Satura Night's main event. I
(04:49):
guess we can jump into that already. So Satura Night's
Main Event happened over in DC, which to me is
still fucking weird that John Cena's last ever match was
in Washington, d C. And not Boston, which the story
behind that allegedly had to do with money. That w
W E or I can't even call it w W anymore,
(05:11):
it's just TKO. TKO is very much about money, which
at the end of the day, that's how you should
run a business. But in this case, they tend to
make a lot of business decisions based more on money
than merit. But you know, it is what it is.
But I was in Washington, d C. Saturday Night's main
(05:31):
Event on peacock or YouTube if you were overseas, and uh,
let's let's just start with the with the main event.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
You know, well before before that, what did you think
about the overall the overall value of the shell of
the atmosphere? Like, to me, this felt more more of
like Wrestleming than what wressele Maia did this year.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
I don't know, I agree with you, like they were
really treating it like it was a pay per view
or if you're because.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I mean no, not just a pair view. It felt
like a major stadium show event, even though it wasn't
a stadium, but it felt like a major stadium event.
You know, they had a two hour kickoff show like
for Saturday Knights. Maybe they had a two hour kickoff
show for it, you know what I mean. They had
(06:29):
that they had like you know, the celebrities were there.
It just felt bigger, way, way bigger than than any
other Saturday Knights made events that there's caman And to me,
this felt just as big, if not bigger than WrestleMania
from this year.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
I mean, in some ways it might have been better
than WrestleMania, uh.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
I mean in theory, yes, show the show, yes, but
you can't really compare in my opinion, just because it's like.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
You you're you're taking a nine pay per view event
with not with your you know, big all your biggest
stars on the show, versus a major major event with
all your biggest stars on the show. It's like, to me,
it's not comparable. But like as far as an overall show,
then yeah, yeah, I agree with that. But but to
me though, it's like, you know, it's comparing apples oranges
(07:21):
in my opinion.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
In my opinion, yeah, I get you, but I don't know,
it's just me. I kind of missed the old school
setup when they brought back Siren Night's main event. That's
just me. I kind of like that old that kind
of old school, you know, retro sthetic. But again, they
want to make this you know few. I mean, they
they don't always like using retro. They they like using
(07:43):
retro for maybe like a little bit because it's kind
of a niche thing. But uh, you know it is
that's just it's a me problem. I always chalk it
up to that. But uh, the setup was interesting. Uh.
They they sold the place out, which as they should
because it's John Cena's quote unquote last match. Do you
(08:04):
think is coming back in wrestling? In wrestling, you never
stay retired, like you never stay retired. I think he'll
be gone, like like I'll put it this way. He's
already revealed that he's still signed with the company for
another five years and he's gonna he'll make appearances will
more than like he'd be in the Hall of Fame.
(08:25):
As far as like a wrestling match goes, I I
think he'll stay away for a bit because you know,
his star is rising in Hollywood. But as far as
like a match goes, I mean, I think we talked,
we talked about last week where if the situation's right,
like if it's like a charity thing or you know,
what have you, I think I can see Sina coming
(08:46):
out and be like, yeah, I have a match for
you know, a good cause. As far as like him
doing like you know, Blood Money Part twenty, I don't
see him doing that. I just don't. I don't think
it's like I don't think he'll be a Sean Michael's thing,
like I'll never come out of ooh another zero and
then we ended up getting that complete shit sandwich. But
(09:08):
I don't think Sina will do it for at least
for a while, maybe for like another three years, three
ish years, give or take. What about you?
Speaker 2 (09:18):
No, I think he's done, Okay, I just I just
you know, I'm gonna take the guy's word and say
he's done. You know what, I mean, now, like I
said with I'm using a star. You know, unless it
was like a tragedy situation happens in wrestling and they're
doing like a benefit show or something, or something very
(09:40):
tragic happens and they're doing a benefit show and like
you know that, you know, people want to see Johnson
and I come and like, so it has to be
something extreme, but like just him, Oh, wrestle Mania saw Arabia.
We're gonna give you, you know, seventy million dollars. Well okay,
maybe I'll come out for seventy million, but but we'll
give you, you know, two dollars. I mean, I can
(10:01):
I don't see him coming back even for something like that.
So I don't know, I don't know. Never like you said,
never say never, but just me personally, I just don't
really like like he had a you know, a decent
match with Gunther, but like you know, two three years
down the road, him not wrestling and him not being
(10:21):
in shape and things that nature, Like can you see
him on a match?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
No, he can.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yeah, I mean it's like, you know, well, to be.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Fair, I don't want to see any more old wrestlers
come back. I'm just it's kind of an unpopular opinion. Mike,
You're never going to push any of your younger talent
and they're never going to learn to get over if
you're always relying on the past.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Well, I mean it's been it's been that way for
the last but twenty years.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Yeah, but WW gets a little bit too, you know,
old school friendly about it, that's the best way to
put it.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
But there was at one point though where it was
needed because even like in twenty ten, two nine, whatever, right,
like it was kind of me because business wasn't doing
as well as it is now. Like now now I agree,
you know with you, but like we're still gonna see
it like like five years from now, right, Like where
(11:14):
do you see like guys like Roman Rings and Seth
Rollins and you know, Kode Rose, you know, in the
next five to seven years, Like I would like to
think two of them will at least would be retired, right.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
I mean, Roman's gonna be gone, He's.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Right, right, right. But what I'm saying is like you
don't think that w W is gonna try to bring
back Roman Rings. You know what I mean? Is it
happens in cycles, you know what I mean? Then, like
in the next twenty years. I'm just throwing them out there.
You know, let's say like barn Breaker and fucking you know,
Javon Evans and you know whoever, who are the next
guys up. They are gonna be fucking retiring, They're gonna
(11:51):
be coming back. So it's like it's it's to me,
to me, it's always gonna seem to be happening like
that in wrestling where where the old guy come his back,
you know what I mean, They fucking did that ship
in the fucking eighties with Bernald san Martino, you know,
like like wrestle media, you know too, I think, yeah,
I think he was in the Battle Royal and fucking
wrestled media too. So it's like to me, to me,
(12:15):
it's always gonna happen. It doesn't mean that you have
to agree with it, doesn't mean that you have to
agree with it, But I just think that it's gonna
happen because it's wrestling, and you know, wrestling's built off
stars and old stars at that.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
So right, because like there is a point where Vince
was getting very like very like I need to rely
too much on the past instead of pushing my younger stars,
like you know, he put the title on Goldberg, like
he took it off of Bray, who was like kind
of on a hot streak with his new gimmick, and
(12:47):
then he gave it to Goldberg, and then he gave
it to brock Lessner, and then he gave it to
Sena again, and he gave it to Orton again. With
with Triple Ah, you know he, I mean, he he's
not perfect. But last of Triple H, it's I'm gonna
push my younger stars because they're they're the now, and
in order for them to really learn what it's like
(13:08):
to work, you know, in a bigger spotlight, I'm gonna
put them with my top stars from the past. But
in the end, my younger stars are gonna win, because
that's how business should be done. If we really want
to you know, continue to Succeee his business, we need
to keep creating stars instead of relying on the past.
So at least A Triple does that, Whereas Vince towards
(13:30):
the end of his run was very much like, I'm
gonna I need to rely on my older guys because
I don't want faith in my new guys, or he
just didn't get his new guys man, let's let's head
let's go back to Sara. Let's start with the main
event real quick. So originally the talk was it was
(13:51):
supposed to be seen opening the show and that the
rest of it.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
I didn't believe that ship, which I.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Thought that was supid because the idea was that he
was going to open the show and that the rest
of the night was going to be dedicated to NXT.
But then then the end of the day, I'm like, okay, but.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Their right mind, Like I mean, I know we I
know we're online, and you know we we you know,
us as podcasters, we have to look at these stories
and you know, we have to look at it and
analyze it and you know, make a decision for ourselves.
I never believe that story. Why on Earth this would
(14:34):
just be malpractice from WWE. And you know w W
has had that this year, so it's not totally out
of the realm. But while on Earth would they have
John Cena opening contest scheduled for one fall, right? Why
would they have them do that when they're getting Did
you see you staw to talk this weekend about John Cena?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
What about it?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Did you Well, I'm saying, did you see it.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
But about what though, just.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
In general ESPN seeing and sports scenes are but you know,
you know, just there, so I Eyes and Ears was
on this event, right, Why would you have them open
up with John Cena and Gunner just for them to
tune out on because these people weren't gonna watch the
(15:27):
rest of the fucking show. Have these guys watched the
show them, you know, and watch Johnson the fucking main
event so they get that way you can try to
gain more of an audience and more of a fan
base possibly seeing guys like you know, Javan Evans and
an Oba family and you know, seeing soul Ruka and
you know, seeing all these new wrestlers coming in for
(15:48):
the very first time as well, Like that would have
just been malpractice from w W if they would have
if they would have seen a bit opening contest.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
But sorry, yeah no, no, I agree, Like I it's like,
you know, oh, a John Sanna retirement match and he's
the opening match. It's like, yeah, that's that's that's kind
of dumb, well not kind of it is, but AnyWho,
it was the main event. You know that the whole
night they were just throwing a lot of sena propaganda.
(16:18):
I say, propaganda in just but like you know, superstars
from the past and current, you know, talking about Sena,
memories of Sena and you know, see him punk even
you know, shed a tear or two talking about what
Sina meant to him. Randy Orton wasn't there, which was weird.
I know he him and Lived Morgan and a few
(16:41):
other wrestlers. Yeah, Tiffany Stratton there in Saudi Arabia, which
is almost just kind of weird timing to send Randy
Orton to Saudi Arabia on the same weekend as Sena's
last match.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Quote unquote, very puzzling.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Granted he did put he did put up a very
heartfelt you know thing on social media. So cool, but
it's like everybody in Sina's life. You have Cehm Punk,
you have Triple H, you have The Undertaker, Kurt Angle,
No Randy Orton.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Born obviously, I mean people were like, oh, Toy Kongo, nice,
shut up, like it's the wrestling business. Like there was
no way that the Edge was gonna fucking show. There
was no way that Jericho was gonna show because I
believe he's still in a contract through the end of
this month and maybe wrong, but there was no way
(17:37):
that these guys are still in the contract on the
aw payroll was gonna show up. It's just way it
is his business.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
No Batista at least like a Batista video clip.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
That one, that one, that one, I won't say was shocking,
but uh yeah, I was a little. I mean, I
would like to I would like to see Batista, but
you know, I wasn't expecting it either.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
So I mean yeah, I mean it's kind of kind
of weird, like it. This whole scene of retirement tour
has been very underwhelming. Watched batched, Like I think you
might have seen this interview that Seena put out where
he admitted he said that he told WWE, I'm available
(18:23):
for this many dates. I think it was like two
hundred something like two hundred and twenty, two hundred and
sixty and then and then ww replied with, oh, we
only need you for thirty six dates, which is like
John Cena is offering you a services for like pretty
much a whole year, like close to a year, and
(18:44):
you're like, nah, we only need you for this many dates.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
I you know what that I'm okay with just because
of the fact that.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
To me, at least that WWE. They are very smart
about marketing, right and business. So the less you see
of John and Cena, the more special will become.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
He's a attraction, right, I think I think they did, honestly,
I probably think you probablyhould have made about like ten
more dates.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
To be honest, though, I think over two hundred days,
I think I don't think people it wouldn't been as
special as seeing Senna, right, like, oh I gotta go
see Johnson, I go see John Cena. Oh I gotta
buy this, I gotta buy this. I think it would
have not been as special. I think he could add
like at least ten more dates to what he had.
But you know, WWE is gonna, you know, they they
(19:38):
obviously they know best when it comes to making money,
because they made a ship ton of money off this,
off this John stan Fer World Tour, even though like
the booking was shit. They're making money off of it.
They they they they made game busters off this.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
I disagree. Maybe maybe not two hundred maybe just maybe
like maybe not like too, I heard what the exact
number was, but like I don't know, like like in
the hundreds at least, and I get I get what
you mean. Like the mystique of John Cena.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Oh so one hundreds right, so there's no so there's
no house shows, right, eliminading house shows?
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Where do we get these hundred dates? Basically? These hundred
dates is is basically he's on Raw maybe SmackDown in
a pay per view every single week NXT.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
He could done something with NXT.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
He done something with NXT, but halten is he gonna
be down at NXT too?
Speaker 3 (20:29):
I mean, I mean with the partnership with Impact, you
could have maybe had good show up on Impact for
like a big for like a big part.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
That though that that those days have nothing to do
with WW, that'll be a t NA date now.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
I'm just saying, like for Sena's retirement tour, that could
have been something huge.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Do you think Johnsona wanted to go to fucking fucking Impact.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
I mean he said he wanted to work with Joe Hendry.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
That doesn't mean he has to Impact.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
I mean why not?
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Look would okay as as WWE because this is WWE's creatia, right,
this is WW. Why would they send John Cena down
to TNA when they simply can just bring Joe Hendry
to Raw SmackDown or even like an NXT having John
(21:22):
Cena versus Joe Hendry feud or whatever or not even
a few but like a like a situation per Se
is happy on WWCV is not happy in CNA. So
you as much as this, as much as relationship is going, well, sorry,
go ahead.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
No, man, Like I'm not saying I'm not saying ww's
like we're telling you to go down there, like it
would be like a thing of ww's, Like would you
be okay with going shown up on teenage? Just doing
appearents just like drop some like big tickets.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
What I'm saying is you think ww is going to
to even offer that?
Speaker 3 (21:53):
I would? I think so?
Speaker 2 (21:56):
No, you would.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
No, No, I think they would, especially with this new regime.
I can see them doing that.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
So if that's the case, how can we what the
subject yourselves? Because he's how can we haven't seen like
a seth Rawlins or Clay Rhodes or or anyone else
down there yet.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
I mean, who's to say it won't happen, as it
hasn't happened yet. It could happen.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
You really think it could happen? Really?
Speaker 3 (22:21):
I think I think it could happen. I honestly think
it could happen.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
I really want you to think about this.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
I did think about it, and I come to a conclusion.
I think it could happen. If there if there's if
there's a way it could make sense. It'll happen, all right,
if you all right, I stand by my I stamp
by my.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
I die, don't. I don't. I don't think you may
see eye eye on this because to me, like I
want to say, buy out to you, and which is
a possibility they can do something like that, right, But like,
to to me, I see WWE trying to benefit WW
by bringing TNA wrestlers up to like maybe like the
(23:07):
main roster or something like that, and get know, have
something here. I can see like Moose or you know,
go up against you know, I don't know whoever, I Cody, whoever, right,
I can see something like that.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
But like I don't see them taking Cody down there
and be like, hey Cody, you know, go down there.
I'm sure today will want to because you know, he's
outside a guy.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
But I don't see w W be like hey Cody,
go down there in the UG. You know we're gonna
have you start working in our program with fucking uh
you know, Nick Nimbus.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Like, what, hey, that'd be great good matches.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
By no, it would be great matches.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Right.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
No, I'm not I'm not just reading now. I'm just
saying to what WWE's business model is. It don't see
that happening. I just don't see that happening. If we could,
we could. We barely get main roster guys, top main
roster guys on NXC. Don't throw a rare ripley down
there every now and then. Cody was down there, so
(24:06):
I think this year, but it was like one of
those special shows against was one of the specials against
ad W. I think, so yeah, when Cody went down there.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
If it's something like that, like now, I will say this,
if t Anda was on the.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Same night as as Dynamite, because.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
They're still going to be on Thursdays, Okay, I'm definitely
seen that because.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
You know, w W wants to put this, wants to
put the foot up of aw's ass. But since they're
on different nights, I just don't see the benefit for
WW doing that. I really don't. But I digress. We
have different opinions on it.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Okay, all right, I'll be I again. I just I
wanted more out of this retirement tour, and I get
the whole idea preserving Sena's mystique, but to me, it's
just like if John Cena is offering you as services
firm more than just like a fraction of the year,
and then you're like, no, we really need you for
(25:05):
this many dates, It's like, I don't know, it's it's
kind of shitty and just again, it just kind of
shows how TKO runs things. Is yeah, they're about money,
and money is obviously a good thing, but it just
seems like they take money over merit.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Do you think that, let's say Vince was still in chargefully,
do you think Vince would have granted that for Sina.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
I think he would have because I think, I mean,
I think.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
To be honest, I think so too. I think so too.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
But yeah, Vince would have made a much And this
isn't me going on we should bring back Vince, Like no,
this is just me looking at how and I've been
on the side of like, I don't think this is
all Triple H is doing. I think a lot of
I think TKO really does kind of put too many
cooks in the kitchen and they don't always allow Triple
(25:54):
H to really pull off the things he wants to
pull off, whereas Vince. I think Vince really would have
made a moue much bigger deal about this, Like he
would have made this mean more because Sina was one
of his guys and like, you know, not to skip ahead,
but like there was that you know, tribute video at
the end of the night where Vince came up and
Sena smirked because you know, Sena has been very open
(26:17):
about his friendship with Vince, which you know rubs a
lot of people the wrong way, but you know, it
is what it is. You know, people are friends with
who they're friends with, so I guess you can't really
hold them accountable for it. Yeah. Yeah, Vince definitely would
have done this a lot differently than how TKO has
been doing it. Bill, So let's just start with the
(26:40):
main event first and we'll just work our way around
the other matches. Yeah, Goonther versus John Cena again. The
match was fine. It was a pretty good match. It
was kind of what you thought it would be, a
lot of Sena getting his shit in and doing everything
could to take down the evil Goother and then goother
(27:03):
trying to do everything he can to take down you know,
the the hero that never give up John Cena. And
obviously the fans were pro Sena and the fans were
hating Gunther and Goonther is Gonther is going through he did.
He was, you know, the best choice for this, even
though granted I said, you know, time and time again
I thought, I think there should have been reserved for
(27:25):
someone who could have used it more. But you know,
it is what is. But Goonther is always the safe.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Decision at the end of the day, after seeing.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Right decisions, right, I love Gunther. I think Gonther is
always a safe bet. And you know, granted, what happened
after or after the match, and anyone that kind of
knows what happened happened. Goother is I think his his
his stock is rising, probably a little even more. But yeah,
(27:55):
Goother won by tap which is probably the funniest tap
out like ever. And if anyone's watching on the YouTube stream,
you can see on the thumbnail that Sina just had
that look on his face that he just was like, yeah,
it's time, and it was like kind of a ginger
(28:16):
like tap. It wasn't even like a it was just
like yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
That's my issue with that. So I said that this
was the right decision. Zena tapping that was the right decision.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
I just didn not like how he tapped out and
the face with it, because to me, a lot of
people are saying like, oh, he was at.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Peace with it.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
To me, it kind of.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Felt like he didn't want to tap out. He's like,
all right, well I'm telling out because I'm being I'm
being asked and forced to tap out.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Now if he taps out frantically that's a little bit
outside of his character too as well. So I get that,
but that was anti climactic. As far as the tapouts concern,
in my opinion.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Agree it felt it felt like you knew it was over,
but when you tapped out and with the smile and
everything and then kind of like the smirk is like
that's it, Like that's really it, Like they could they
could have done a little bit more than that, And
you know, I know we're gonna talk about, like, you know,
what happened after the match too as well.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
But as far as the the tapouts concern and the match,
I thought the matres was fine. I thought the mattress good.
You know, Sinna did all the hits even did the
lag drop off the top rope. You haven't done now
in a long time, so he did all the hits.
I was kind of I was kind of hoping, you know,
would do a spring board stunner for some reason, but
(29:44):
pretty sure. I'm pretty sure Carible did do that anymore
at this point, but I mean it at the end
of the day, didn't didn't really need it, but but yeah,
I just I just thought that the tap out, the
smile and the they're urgent, the urgency with the TapouT
just felt anti climatic.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Do you think people would have been less mad if
Sina passed out instead of tapping out?
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Do I think people would have been more mad mad
less mad? So the hardcore John Cena fans did not
like this ending. Yeah, the I think that I think
the major issue was is Sena losing, not how he lost,
Sena losing period. So I don't care if it's.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Pan pass out, tap out, tap out with you know,
with urgency getting knocked.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Out t KO, I don't wait this.
Speaker 4 (30:47):
It would have had some type of bad negative response,
right because that people wanted to see Sina winning.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
The people were really really shitting on this is just
the people that want seen its win, which he wasn't.
He wasn't gonna win. You would win to the match
knowing that you would be as mad, right, So I
don't really think it really matter on how he lost
or if he passed our attack guys, I think the
response would have been the same more or less.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Yeah, I mean at the end of the day, like
people would have bitched either way. I think because like
you know, the hardcore Seena fans like you mentioned, you know,
they're mad that seen a loss and also tapped out.
But if Sina would have won, you would have had
that other side of they who's the point of this tournament? Anyway?
You have seen it this and you So it's just
people wrestling fans are fickle. I mean that just that
(31:42):
always seems.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
To the tradition.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Yeah, like everybody lost on.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Our tradition, mostly not everyone have lost their last match.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
Yes, Steve Austin his last match, No you didn't, Well,
that was his comeback match. I'm talking about his last match.
He put over.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
This was his last match in w w.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
E against the Rock and then he left in came
That was his comeback match.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
What's the last match that he.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Had against Kevin Owens, all right, and he.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Won that match right now, if he didn't, now, if
he didn't go up against Kevin Ollens. Okay, his last
match was you know, against the Rock, and he lost,
right I could. I said the same thing for Shawn Michaus.
But guess what he has another fucking match, right. Wasn't
that match the.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
D X?
Speaker 2 (32:34):
They lost?
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Right? I think d X won? Well, I think so,
I don't anyways, I don't. I don't. I put that
match out of my memory for obvious reasons.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
But when the match fucking happened, and guess what, the
Rock had another match, right he you know he lost
his last match. Well no, well, actually no, he wins
everything actually because if you count like Russell Maania, what
was a Russell thirty.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
When he was for like seven second?
Speaker 2 (33:00):
It was that it was at the bell ringed and
there was a one two three, So it was a match.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Kurt Kurt Angle lost his last match, without which I
was bullshit, but he still lost. Yeah. Rick Flair lost
his last match, No, he didn't against Sean Michaels. Oh yeah,
tna yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
And Rick Blair's last match, which he won.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Hogan won his last match, of course is Hogan. He
can't ever lose.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
What was Hogan's last It was something in TNA. Right, No,
didn't he lose against Sting? He lose against Sting.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Right, wasn't his last match against and WWE? His last
match was against Orton.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
I'm talking. I'm talking about TNA t n A.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
I think Sting beat him. Yeah, but yeah, just again
time on a tradition like put put the guy who's
going to be the guy for who's going to be
the guy now over before you leave? Because again Sena,
it's it's it's kind of a joke I make Sina
kind of doesn't care about his leg see all that
much the way other people do. And well, I also
(34:12):
think Sina he's made it very clear that he wants
to leave the business by making sure it's better than
the way he left it. That's always you know his quote,
and you know he's gonna put over Gnther because Gunther
is gonna be the guy going for one of the
guys going forward.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
And then pretty sorry to interrupt, d X did beat
the Brother's Destruction twenty seven minutes for Jesus Christ, Hey,
you know what, that's my goat. So fuck it.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Yes, christ oh man, I've completely forgot what I was
gonna say. Oh yeah, yeah, pretty soon, you know, Brock's
gonna call it a day. Aj Styles is gonna call
it a day, Jericho is going to come back and
call it a day in w W E. I mean
(35:05):
even Sampunk is going to call it a day. Orton's
gonna call it a day. And I mean, I don't
I don't know. Like again, the business is, the business
is changing, it's getting younger, it's getting more faster, and
a lot of these guys can't keep up. So but yeah, again,
I I was shocked by the tap out, but I
(35:27):
I was fine with it. It made sense, it was
the right call and you're out. I was again, I
was more shocked about how nonchalant John Cena was about.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, okay, that's fair.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Where he was just like, all right, let's go.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
It felt like to me that like again, it felt
like he didn't really want to do it.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
But uh, but I mean, going there is it's it
goes without saying he's probably the biggest heel in right now.
I mean he was already one of the biggest heels.
Now he's the biggest heel and that's something he can
take with him for the rest of his career. And
(36:12):
then the after birth of the match was just deliciously bad,
like you had all these awkward it was you had
all these people come out. First of all, the fans
are booing the ship out of Triple Edge. They're already
you know, chanting fuck Triple Edge, which I already hate
(36:32):
when fans hijack the shows because this moment's supposed to
be about John John Cena. I get it, but it's tasteful.
It's tasteless.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
I mean, I mean, I mean, let's be honest, we
all said some tasteless shit in here. So yeah, so
we're we're no, we're no.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
No no, no, no no no. But you know, but
we learned because we're adults or I think I am.
But yeah, it's just like again, just like fans hijacking
the show, which at this point it's like whatever it is.
You know, they're gonna do what they want to do
because they paid ticket, even though they're idiots.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
But I mean, to me, they say where they want.
You saw his ticket prices? True, very true, Like you
you give me this, you give me this ending, and
you know, and you got you come out there and
you know, it's it's awkward, like you can't tell me
(37:32):
what the fucking say. And you know, I pay to
pay so much for my free tickets. You damn I'm
gonna say something.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
No, I get I get you. Yeah, I actually understand.
I you know, I agree with you all that these
tickets are fucking insane, even for urn XT like for Deadline.
Like I took one look at those tickets, I went
fuck that.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
U Oh. I mean I saw tickets that were like
forty five bucks at a at A a's. When they
came into my shop, was it yesterday or two days ago?
They were like, they're like, though, did you go down?
I was like, I'd end up going. You're like, oh yeah, man.
I was like, how you enjoyed the show? He was like,
oh it was good man, We got good tickets. It
only spent like, you know, seventy bucks for two for
(38:13):
two tickets. I was like, oh shit, pretty good. I
thought that would have been more. But you know, at
least took a couple of people that came and talked
to me about they and one guy said seventy bucks
and he's that guy said they got one c for
forty five, So I don't know when they checked it
or what website they were on, but at least according
to them, they had some good deals.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
But anyways, the afterbirth fans are blowing Triple ah, saying
fuck Triple h. And then they forced Sina to watch
this tribute video about his life. And again Sino was
just in the corner and he just looked like he
didn't want to be there, like he It was just
it was the It was the most awkward, cringiest, funniest
(38:56):
thing to watch. And like I mentioned, Vince came on
the screen and see and seen at least smirked Cody
Rhodse and see him Punk gave them or gave him
their uh there, gave him their titles to like pose with,
and then he gave him back and then he took
off his his uh his old man tennis shoes and
(39:20):
just left him in the middle of the ring. It
would have been funny if he took off his shorts
too and just left, but you know, they didn't do that.
What was that?
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Is it? Thank God?
Speaker 3 (39:36):
I don't know for that ending he could they could
have he could have at least given him I'm kidding,
I'm kidding, and then he walked off into the sunset
and uh, never to be seen again for now. So
but that was the end of Satura Night's main event.
And then afterwards, uh for the after show, the fans
are chanting, you know, funck Triple H A W we
(39:59):
went events And then Triple H acknowledged it and just said,
I'm disappointed. I thought you guys be louder.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
So that shows you that he just doesn't give a
fuck about with the fans.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Stick In some ways you shouldn't because you shouldn't always
book for the fans just because they cry about it.
In this case, the fans are obviously mad about the decision, which.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Right, but no, it's not a bit just about the decision. Like, okay,
let me ask you, why would.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
You think the fans will react that way.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Because, like you said, they paid a lot of money
for these seats and they got John Cena pretty much
nonchalantly tapping out in his last match.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
And I yes, but there was also a fan. Not
every single fan there was pro Sina or possibly want
to see Sina win. Right. I don't think every single
fan there want to see Sina win. I think the
reason why the fans were mad is because it wasn't
(41:09):
just about Saturday, It's about the whole run, this whole
farewell tour. We were saying, hey, let it play out,
let it play out. We lat it play out, and
it was terrible.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
Yeah, that's I believe that's why you had the fans
saying fuck Triple H and you know, you know, you know,
giving them shit.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
That's the reason. Not just because Sena loss. It's the
whole farewell tour that they're giving him shit about. I believe.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
It's this whole year, Like a lot of things happen
I have to remind myself about because I'm like, oh, yeah,
the heel turn happened in February, and then it just
went away like shortly after that because people were like, no,
we still want to cheer John Cena and it, which
is just kind of going to what I said about
the dates, Like, you know, imagine if it was like
(42:03):
one hundred something dates, it would have been more exciting,
it would have meant more. But then also the Rock
inserted himself into this storyline and just went away after that,
and granted he had to go do press tour for
a movie and you know, film a movie. But it's like,
how do you involve yourself in a storyline and then
just go away? What's up a threll Ax season the
(42:26):
YouTube chat it in some ways, the rock kind of
ruined the tour. A lot of creative definitely played a
big hand in ruining the tour. And then tk t
Ko is another name that kind of ruined this tour.
But yeah, the fans, the fans have the right to
(42:47):
be mad. I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying,
at the end of the day, no matter what decision
you make, there's always gonna be a group of people
that there's always gonna be a large group of people
that are just going to be mad regardless, and you
can't please everybody. So that's just kind of how I
feel about it.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
But what about you, I mean, I think they I
already kind of brought that up already.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
But anyone in the YouTube chat, well a Thrillix you're here,
post your thoughts down below and let me know what
you think. Anyone in the discord chat, let us know
what you think about John Cena's last match quote unquote,
I still wish John had a better sendoff. Yeah, you're right, Okay,
(43:36):
so I'm looking in the discord chat. So Triple Fraud
wrote a pretty lengthy response. He put that reaction wasn't
really about scene A tapping. It was a year's worth
of frustration collapsing in a warm moment, kind of like
what you just said. Fans have endured safe booking, non
payoff arcs, prestige without danger, constant quote unquote let it
(43:57):
play out, fatigue, empty heel runs, and stories that resolve
without true catharsis. The product has been polished but rarely risky.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
Yeah, you're right right, stop right there for a second,
I said trouble. He's been too safe. He's been too
safe booking. He's not really trying to do anything different.
Is by the numbers. It's the same shit. He's not
really looking to make waves. It's you know, so I
(44:26):
agree with him there for sure.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
There's more he put. When Triple Fraud he's talking about
Triple Edge, not him, walked out. The crowd wasn't reacting
to the to that single decision. They were reacting to
everything that led up to it. To be honest, months
of restrained storytelling and diffuse heat finally boiling over. That's
why the reaction went nuclear. It wasn't disrespect towards Sena,
(44:51):
It wasn't mindless outrage. It was a smart crowd using
the biggest emotional moment possible to hold the architect of
the product accountable for a year of creative choices. I
don't think the fans were pissed off about the finish.
It's just politics. At the end of the day, Rock screwed.
(45:12):
Rock got screwed from WrestleMania forty one not being him
versus Cody, so he stuck it to Trips this year
with an empty heel run. Hmmm, I mean that would
sorry Rock versus Roman, that's what he put. Well, I
heard it was, yeah, I heard it was gonna be
Rock versus Cody.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
Well, also, we we'd hear a lot of shit changes.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
So it was both Well also, because there was that
thing from last year after Mania where the Rock handed
Cody something and then Cody looked at it and was angry,
and then the low Rock you know, walked away, and
so there was never an explanation as to what the
fuck that was. And then you know, the whole thing
about the Rock want Cody's soul, which that was just
(45:58):
the weirdest fucking the weirdest, most cringiest thing ever like
this year. And then of course the heel turn, which
again there was never explanation as to why John Cena
went heel. The rock never came back and explained why
the uh that Sena sided with him and yeah, and
then it and then it just went away like Sena
(46:19):
was like, yeah, I'll be a good guy again. Fuck it.
So but I mean, yeah, the Scena heel turn. It
just the moment was obviously huge, and that's probably gonna
be someone's biggest moment of the year, but like or
shocky moment of the year. But as far as like
the payoff afterwards, it's like Sena still showed up in
(46:42):
his usual gear and his music and didn't really change
the thing about him. It just it didn't mean anything.
It was it was. It was a very empty heel turn,
as a triple fraud says in the chat. So in closing, yes,
Sena's retirement tour was area underwhelming. I don't want to
(47:03):
say it sucked, because there was some bright moments, some
bright spots storing it, but uh.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
What was the best What was the best moment of
the farewell tour?
Speaker 3 (47:18):
I'm just going off my personal taste. The match with
Kode at SummerSlam was good. I like the I like
the moment in Saudi where Seampunk came out doing the
Thugonomics bit. I thought that was funny. That's just one
of my favorites. Obviously, the Heel Turn was huge, but
(47:38):
you know, the payoff after that was And the match
with Dom and Boston was really good. The match in
Survivor Series was really good. And uh, that's about it.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
What about yours him versus AJ Styles?
Speaker 4 (47:57):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Fuck him's AJ styles on. My wife forgot about that.
That's I don't know where I'm gonna put that in
my my top fhaves of the year. It's definitely in
my top three. So I really do need to think
about what my favorite match of the year is.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Next week, Dad and the Hill Turn. He'll the Hill Turn. Everything,
everything with the Hill Turn was was was fantastic, fantastic
fall terrible, but the moment was fantastic. We you gotta
go back to the moment when it happened and how
we were feeling at the time. Everybody was I don't
(48:36):
think any I don't think like there was anybody I
was like, oh, this sucks. No, everyone was fucking excited
about it. So I thought I thought. I thought the
Hill turn itself was fantastic.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
Everything else after that was you know, triple fraud says
seen in Paul. Clash in Paris was great. Yeah, that
was that was that was fun.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
It was great.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
It was good.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
Damn good match.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
So Thees are fine, I mean they were fine to
really good. It's just the tour itself could have been
a thousand times better, a thousand times better, like so
much better.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
If you have to give the cne of Federals who
are a rain out of ten, what would it be
out of ten?
Speaker 3 (49:19):
Way, I'm gonna say, I'm gat I'm gonna give it
just a D, a big old D, so like a
six out of ten.
Speaker 2 (49:33):
D's a seventy, brother, No, a.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
D would be like a six six and a half.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
When we were in school, what was a passing grade?
Speaker 3 (49:43):
A C.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
Passing grade was a D.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Brother, I know in college I remember it being a C. Oh.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
Well, I'm talking about high school. You know, narrow narrow
wing went to college like like you educated people.
Speaker 3 (49:57):
Oh, I'm excusing me, okay, yeah, D. I'm just gonna
give it.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
Well, that's why I said a right out of ten
out of A through six, you're like like a six
and a half out of ten. Okay, that's fair, six
and a half. I just want to make sure. Okay,
so six half out ten. Uh so you're giving the
Sena Pharaoh two or six out of ten? Okay, I'm
giving us a three out of ten.
Speaker 3 (50:25):
He went so much lower than me.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
It wasn't good. It wasn't good. The match, yeah, outside
of some of the matches itself, and he had thinking
the WrestleMania build that by itself was was was god awful,
god fucking awful. The WrestleMania match him and Cody god awful. Right,
(50:49):
his He'll run god awful. Now you had. Now, I'm
gonna tell you what. He's giving me three points. The
He'll Turn itself as was one point. Him versus a
j was one point, and you probably get a half
point for the farewell match and situation there, and you
probably get their half point somewhere else. Everything else was
was was not good.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
Okay, Yeah, fair enough. I I guess I'm going by matches.
I looked at the matches as being fun, but the moments,
you know, again, there was some good moments, but you know,
very few and far between, you know, the build up,
the build up wasn't always yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
You have some good promos and you have some great
promos in there too as well. I mean, but it's
not like anything ground breaking. I mean the pipe bomb,
the scene pipe bomb was really good, but outside that,
it wasn't anything like really groundbreaking from what Scena would
usually do, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
No, I agree, I wholeheartedly agree. I again, I'm just
going by. I thought the matches made up for a
very like, very underwhelming, you know, just okay promos at
best to sometimes just being you know, men promos. But again,
(52:07):
this this is a tour we should have been talking about.
This should have been epic. You know, this should have
been you know, Michael Jordan's you know, retirement tour, you
know asked. This should have been you know, Kobe's retirement tour.
Ask Instead, it just it was just very lackluster and
not pushed as well, very underproduced and just lazy, you know,
(52:29):
for a guy that made this company so much money.
And you know, whether you love Hi or hate him,
like the guy made the company so much money and
he's to this day, you know, the Make a Wish
Foundation's most requested you know celebrity, right, and instead all
we got was just like here here, here's instead of
(52:50):
just getting you know, t bone steak, all we got
was you know, frozen pizza.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
I have a topic here, uh that we can discuss
briefly or how well it goes. Right. So, over the
last couple of years, we had John Cena retirement, we
had Sting retired. If Sting was in W W E
and John Cena was in a W for both their
retirement tours, which way you think would have been better? I? Yeah,
(53:23):
I'll go ahead.
Speaker 3 (53:25):
I mean, Tony Kahan would have fucking moved heaven and
Earth to get John c on a W for one thing,
and he would treat him like he was Jesus Goku
and Superman, right, And that that plays it to my
topic of like, you know, people will get mad because
people were mad about Sting, you know, never putting any
anybody over in a W. And we and we ended
(53:48):
up we'll let me finish.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
That's true, that's true, but I think a lot of
that was Tony con too.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
All right, but let me let me kind of finish
real quick. But like we we did talk about. And
you know, I even admitted like Sting probably has one
of the best retirement matches of all time, if not
the best, with John Cena. You like, I can already
tell Tony kumum and be like, yeah, John Thane, I
want you to beat everybody. I want you to beat
(54:12):
uh will Off Pray and the Young Bucks and John Moxley.
I want you and I want you to kick out
of Kenny's one winged Angel. I want you to win
every match because you're John Cena. You're a superhero and
you don't ever give up, and you tell the get it,
we get it? Can I have a hug? No, anyways,
(54:35):
but yeah, I think I think Tony Kahn would have
made him look even more like a superhero than Vince
ever did, because Tony Cohn is, at the end of
the day, he's a mark. Like we've said this time
and time again. Uh Sting, I mean Sting's booking WW
wasn't even that great either, you know, let's let's be fair,
(54:56):
it wasn't that great. Like they they had they brought
him in to with Triple H and that didn't make
any sense, and then they had Triple H beat him
in Daylight. Granted it got somewhat better towards the end,
you know what, I think they.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
Were gonna put the title in them eventually.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
Yeah. I remember that, like he was feuding with Seth
and that was kind of an interesting feud, and then
Seth broke his neck. That was kind of the end
of that. So there's really no telling how that would
have gone.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
You know, you really here about Seth's being unsafe anymore,
but that was a little bit of a while where
Seth's unsafe retired to the bunckle bomb.
Speaker 4 (55:34):
Man.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
He really hasn't really had much issue with the buncle
bomb since.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
I mean he kind of I mean, I guess he
kind of learned to kind of dial it back a
little bit. But yeah, there was that point where it's
just like even Brett Hart was like, Seth is unsafe, Well, well,
Brett hates everybody.
Speaker 2 (55:54):
Yeah, Brett would you know he sees anyone gets injured, man,
he won't. He wants them fucking dead. He compares them
to Goldberg.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
So he's like, oh, he goes, what the wrong? What's
wrong with Seth? Seth? Seth is hurting everybody, you know, uh,
you know, Sean Michael slipped with with Vince. Don't you know, Yeah,
you didn't hear him say that. Yeah, but that he
has to do with the fact that British is fucking
crashing out. He doesn't give a fuck.
Speaker 2 (56:21):
The hell's going on.
Speaker 3 (56:23):
Okay, did you know? Did you know? Did you know
Vince wanted me to to fight Mike Tyson? It's true,
Well he didn't actually say that, but well he actually
wouldn't Diesel to fight Mike Tyson in a boxing match
for charity. That's a true story. But anyways, that's that's
another here not there. I forgot where I was going
(56:43):
with this. Oh yes, yes, stay, yeah, definitely, Tony Kahn
would have made this like, you know, a Marvel movie
as far as like making seene It look like a superhero.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
And I think I'll just I'll just say, I'll answer
with my own question. I think Tony con would have
done wonders what John Cena's retirements? Who were versus w
W wasting?
Speaker 3 (57:10):
Yeah, no, no, agreed, very much agreed, you know, as
much as much guff as I get. I say guff
because I don't like swearing too much. And I know
my mom will listen to clips of the show hi Mom.
So she doesn't like when I cuss. So that's one
thing I'm gonna do for my mom not cuss as much.
(57:30):
But I get I give I give Tony Kan a
little guff sometimes but deserve really so. But in this case,
he he does know how to make someone of a
of a legend, whether it's Sting look like a superhero.
But again again, there's always gonna be pe people that complain,
and it's just it's just natural. It's it's just how
(57:54):
people are. People are gonna complain regardless whether how things look.
But that's just it. But yeah, it was pretty good conversation.
Did about close to and now are talking about this?
Was there anything else you want to bring up?
Speaker 2 (58:10):
I mean yeah, I mean just look like everything that
happen after the show, like you know, you kind of
brought it up with the Triple H do an interview
and everything of that nature. But yeah, I just think
that at the end of the day, man, you gotta
I won't say, like one hundred percent listen to the fans, man,
but you gotta kind of like take a template and
(58:31):
know what they want. And I don't know what's going
on with Triple H. I don't know what's going on
with him. He had his finger on the pulse five
years ago. Now I don't know what the hell's going
on with him? Is Is he gained pressure? Is this
more you know to your point? Is this more t ko?
Is this the thing that he knows he's out of
(58:52):
WWE and you know he just doesn't give.
Speaker 3 (58:54):
A fuck no more?
Speaker 2 (58:58):
Again, I think I think that this year coming up
between twenty six, we're gonna see a huge, huge shift
in either AW or WW in some fashion. So we'll see,
we'll see what happens. But to me, it doesn't really
feel This doesn't feel like Triple H or Paulovec. No,
(59:19):
you can't tell me and watch you watch NX twenty seventeen,
twenty eighteen. This is the same fucking guy. There's no
way you there's no way you can change our philosophy
that much in six to seven years. He's still fairly young,
He's still he still has this pulse on the wrestling business.
There's no way you can tell me that that he
doesn't like. There's something not going on.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
I I agree. I mean, I don't know what's happened
to Triple H in the last year you know, because
those two years when he was I will say.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
This almost two years after after Russell Mania last year.
But like Russell me, you have forty was quote unquote
the end Game and by the way drew off topic,
I've been.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
I've been.
Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
I've been watching the m c U. Yeah, yes, well.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
It's getting better to me, it's getting it's getting better
to me.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
But god, you know, you know what, you know what
I watched. I think I watched the first five six movies,
I want to say, because it was like, I think
it's Ironman, Hulk, Iron Man, then like Thor, then Captain America. Right,
I'm on, I'm on, uh Thor Dark World. I haven't
(01:00:37):
seen it yet, but why I know the movie sucks, but.
Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
It is moments.
Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
But yeah, well I'll just say this, I'm not a
fan of what I'm watching so far, but.
Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
With the whole I mean, I liked the Iron Man,
but outside of that, and the and and the First
Avengers and First.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Captain America, outside of that, it's been it's been a
song to get the rebate, regardless of that, regardless of
regardless of everything here, you know, Triple H right now, man,
I don't know, I don't. I don't know what the
quote unquote in game back. I don't know what the
(01:01:19):
in game is gonna be with with him, So we'll
have to wait and see though.
Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
Yeah again, here's the twenty twenty six hopefully being a
better year for both companies, not just I mean not
just financial wise, because you can make money, but your
product is still be We just want a better product.
We don't want an inferior product, especially with WW If
TK was gonna be charging us like the equivalent of
(01:01:47):
a fucking mortgage just to go see WrestleMania or not
even WrestleMania backlash, we'll throw it out there. But uh,
let's talk about the rest of SARAENUS main event, because
it was decent. The first match you had Cody Rhoades,
the WWE champion versus Obah Femi, the NXT champion. Oba
(01:02:08):
looks like a fucking star and the fans already know.
The fans are already chanting for Oba, So that's good.
And I say that because the casual WWE fans, the filthy,
filthy casuals as I call, they're not always up to
date on what's going on with NXT. So there's been
(01:02:30):
times where you can bring on someone from NXC who
you know, we're always high on and the crowd's not
you know, isn't always going to react to them. Well,
i mean, look what happened with the Cross. You know,
it took Cross until literally the end of his tenure,
you know, in WWE to finally get a reaction. But
in Oba's case, they see Oba and they see money.
(01:02:52):
This dude oozes, you know, money. This dude has an aura,
you know, as the kids say, and the fans recognize it.
And all I'm saying is again I've been on the
Triple H bandwagon as far as like, I don't think
he's a racist, you know, because there's this thing about
Triple H is a racist. He doesn't known to push
(01:03:13):
black wrestlers. If Triple H fucks up Oba, at this point,
I'm just gonna ask Paul what are we doing? I'm
gonna call Paul, what do you mean?
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Are you really not asking what? No, we're asking what
he's doing. It should be get the fuck out of here.
That's what it should be at this point.
Speaker 3 (01:03:32):
Yeah, don't don't fuck up Oba. Dude, Like Oba is
almost like here, I'm giving you money, like I'm giving
you free money. Just push me like I'm a fucking superstar.
Like this dude looks like a superstar. He acts like
a superstar. He's I think he's he's not even like
twenty five yet. And the guy looks like the guy
looks like again, he looks like something out of a
(01:03:53):
Marvel movie or any other Like he looks like you know,
Crados from God to War. That'say to play. He looks
like Cradles and he just he has good matches, he
has good promos. Yeah, we all know he's not really
I mean he was he from Nigeria, but he doesn't
actually speak like that. But the fans don't give a fuck.
The fans love it. They love Obay, they do the
(01:04:16):
whole huh. You know, I can't do it. But like
you know, when he came out on on SmackDown, you know,
the night before, the fans were doing the the Oba chant,
you know, the whole uh what do you call it?
The whole black panther thing? Though, hm hm, anytime he speaks.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
But what now the what well what what? What was
he do it again?
Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
I don't want to do it again? Okay, all right,
when he talks, he does that, like, you know, the
thing from Black Panther with Obaku, the I'm not gonna
do it because now you're gonna make fun of me.
There you go, all right, all.
Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
Right, all right, I don't know what the fuck that
first one was, but okay, yeah, yeah, put some put
some stink on it.
Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
You know. I will try my best to put some
stink on it next time. But yeah, Oba's money Oba.
If they don't fuck him up, He's gonna be money
for them, that's guaranteed. And he looks like he belongs
in the main roster, like he doesn't look out of
place being in the ring with you know, someone like
Cody or you know, later on a Drew. But I
(01:05:20):
thought the match was fine. The fans were really it
wasn't like a pro Oba thing. I think the fans
are still channing for Cody because there's still fans that
love Cody and deservely so I like Cody. I also
like Oba, so the fans are chanting, let's go Oba,
Let's go Cody. Didn't really like the finish and it's terrible. Yeah,
(01:05:45):
Like I look at it almost like this, where like
they don't want to beat Oba and they don't want
to beat Cody. But at the same time, what does
Cody lose by losing exactly? You know what I mean?
Like I said, who comes out and causes a distraction
and Oba gets the win?
Speaker 4 (01:06:05):
To me?
Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
To me, I may be wrong, I may be wrong.
Maybe maybe Cody kind of uh, you know, use this
a little of scrap control, but maybe had a little
bit of influence on this decision. Because if you notice,
Cody went to Drew's house, which was that was a
fantastic piece of work that they're done on social media, right,
(01:06:30):
And and that's one of the things I was talking
about with RJ about in the State of w W.
If you haven't listened to that podcast from a couple
we check it out. It is world building and doing
things outside the ring like how they used to do
like during at That's that's one of the things I
was talking about. And that was a fantastic segment that
they did with Cody and Drew McIntyre. If if that
(01:06:55):
was gonna be the end result anyway of them doing
this segment, it gives me like it will actually give
Cody a reason to go to Drew McIntire's fucking house,
right if he were a loss against because because Drew
screwed him out of it. To me, it felt like
(01:07:15):
it like why why did koy sou go to his
else didn't he gives revenge on fucking Drew McIntyre regard
like not revenge, but he.
Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
Kind of got payback on Drew McIntire, you know after
this match anyway.
Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
It's weird. It really is weird because like I.
Speaker 4 (01:07:30):
Think Cody may have, you know, kind of I don't
know if I want to lose, but you know, I
don't got to beat him meter you know what I mean.
There's probably something that happened.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
I'm not saying that's what happened, but that's the kind
of feeling I've got out of it, you know what
I mean. But I may be wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
I mean, it wouldn't be the realm of possibility. But
I also think it's just again Triple H's safe booking
of like instead of taking risks. It's like, yeah, well
I don't want Oba to lose, but I don't want
Coney to lose either, So I'm gonna have Drew come
out and just like fuck up the match. But then
(01:08:07):
there's the confrontation with Oba and Drew where Oba takes
out Drew. So I'm like, okay, I wouldn't mind Oba
versus Drew. That'd be fucking awesome. But it's like, who's
the heel and who's the face? Isn't Oba's supposed to
be a heel or like a cool heel. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
It's he's not. He'll know he's not hell at all?
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Right now, I don't know like he Oh. I think
Oba is more just like a gray area guy. That's
the best way to put it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
He's a it's baby face to me, I mean not
like a not not like a white meat baby face
slapping hands or whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
Right, but like he's not he's definitely not a fucking
hill and he's getting a positive reaction. I mean, his
work is you know, I won't say there's nothing. There's
no hell.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Work in his work. He's not he's not cheating, he's
not like breaking highs. He's not like, you know, doing
nefarious means or anything like that. Right, I don't know
it was it was I don't I don't see anything heal.
Speaker 3 (01:09:12):
I don't know about that one, all right, Well, I
don't know. It's just it was a shit finish. It
was a bad finish in the crowd. I agree, wasn't
really filling the finish either. Again, you could have taken
a risk and really could have made Oba look even
bigger and Cody wouldn't have lost anything. He really wouldn't
have lost any steam or momentum because it would have
(01:09:33):
played into the storyline of Cody wants to kill Drew McIntyre,
like he wants to rip his throat out, and that
would have made the moment on Monday where he went
to his house means so much more. It would have
made it made more sense and it would have meant
so much more. But again, this very safe, you know,
(01:09:55):
w W E booking it just I don't know, again
a glass half full. At least Oba didn't lose and
didn't look stupid. But you know, it's one of those
things of like, I guess whatever next you have Soul
Ruka versus Bailey. Uh again, so Ruka look good. The
(01:10:20):
NXT talents, you know, along with a TNA talent with
a with a Leon Slater, everyone got a pretty big reaction. Granted,
you know, I don't want to say granted, but like
they all look like something you know, Javon. They've been
pushing the ship out of you know, on the main
roster for the past few months. Oba looks like fucking
(01:10:44):
cradles from god O War and sol Ruka is obviously
a very good looking, in shape, tall girl and she
can do all the all the all the moves that
people think are cool. So they all look like something.
So if you look like something, you you're down to
get a reaction at least. But uh, yeah, Soul, I thought,
look so I thought looked great out there with Bailey,
(01:11:05):
And granted it's Bailey, Bailey is always the key factor.
There was a botch in this match. I can't even
remember what it was, but there was. I mean, there
are kind of botches around, but I don't know if
I would call him botches, I would say there were
more so miscues, which I didn't really hold it against him.
(01:11:25):
It was more just like, oh, it's a miscue. Like
there was a spot in the Oba match where Oba
he flips over Cody or I think Cody countered something
and then he's he had his back against the ropes
and he's he was waiting for Oba to throw him out,
and it took like a few seconds, and then Oba
threw him out. So, but again, it was just one
(01:11:46):
of those things like I was a miscue who cares
no one's perfect And then there was another miscue in
this match. I can't remember what it was, but that
just kind of tells you how non important it was.
But yeah, the match was fine, uh will look great.
The finish, I thought the finish of that was very creative,
where Soul goes for the soul Snatcher and then Bailey
(01:12:08):
rolls out of the ring on on instinct and then
goes for a pin and then Soul reverses it into
an into a pin and then wins the match. So
I thought that was you didn't like it? No, okay, I.
Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
Like that because because she she hit the the salt,
I came and say, you finisher the soul Snatcher. She
hit her finisher. Then Bailey, I won't say she she
basically no sold it. I'll just say she basically no
sold it. Then she doesn't roll up with the pin
the hockey. She can't just pin her clean. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
I I like the ending. I I didn't. I didn't
have a problem with it with the finish, I thought
it was creative to me, at least, I.
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Just could have gone without the pretty much the null cell.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
Yeah, I get what you get where you're coming from. Yeah,
good for Soul, I think, uh again, another NXT hopeful,
another you know, hot young prospect. That's you're gonna do
big things on the main roster. But like, how did
you feel about the match?
Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
That was a good match. That was a good match.
They made so Ruka look like a star out there, Bailey,
you know, being the one to put it over was
something that was I won't say expected, but also what
you had. But like even with that too, it was
a good match, but like it felt like it should
(01:13:37):
have been more right. And that's what it felt like
for all these matches from from the evening, everything should
have felt like it was more. You had Zaria, then
you also had a liar about carry out there. I
felt like something was gonna happen one of them when
nothing happened, And I'm like, okay, well all right, because
my prediction was I thought for this match, I thought
(01:13:58):
Bailey was gonna win because Zaria was gonna to like,
you know, scrow over. But that didn't happen. So I'm like, okay, well,
you know, to me, it's like how much longer do
they want to like try to drag the Zaria so
Rookod thing out because you know Zaria is turning is
just like a matter of when and.
Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
New Year's Evil problem, Well.
Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
It's gonna be New Year's Evil because I thought it
was gonna be at the last review or at a deadline,
you know, or you know, is it gonna be at
New Years because I thought it was gonna be a
sorry next Man event. So it's like, I'm not saying
that you're wrong, but also at the same time, it's like, man, like,
what what's the hold up here? You know? But also
as well, I think what they're trying to do is
because obviously that's gonna be a match at possibly I'm
(01:14:40):
standing deliver most likely, right, So I guess they don't
want to try to start the few too early. But
to me, if you don't want to start to future early,
don't telegraph the breakup too early either. So they've been
they've been trying to break up for the last like
two three months.
Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
Yeah, I mean, I agreed. I think we even agreed
on like it would have been interesting if you had
played this out on Saturay night's main event, So that
way you could have had more eyes and ears on
NXT for a lot of like the casual, you know
viewing audience. But yeah, it's just like you have Zari
out there and then you have Lyra out there and
(01:15:18):
they just really didn't do anything, like they were just
there for you know, support essentially, but by good for soul.
And then next you had a tag team match I
believe it was for the Raw Tack Team Championships. A
J almost call him aj Lee, AJ Styles and Dragon
Lee versus Javon Evans in the TNA X Division champion
(01:15:43):
Leon Slater, so good exposure for him. This match was
fast from the fucking moment the bell ring.
Speaker 4 (01:15:53):
So.
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
People either liked. People either love this match or didn't
like it, depending on your taste. I didn't mind it,
but that was fun. It was quick. I think it
was like six and a half minutes. Aside from aj
pretty much almost you know, killing himself on that botch,
the match was fine. It wasn't it really a batch?
Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
Weren't they working his leg early in the match?
Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
Weren't they? I don't think, I don't what.
Speaker 4 (01:16:22):
Wasn't it was like or like he not necessarily hers like,
but he was like selling he was like selling his
leg early in the match.
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
I don't remember that that looked that legit looked like
he just slipped.
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
I don't, I don't, I don't. I don't think that.
I don't know. Maybe maybe maybe it was, but like
I just to me, it didn't really feel like it
was like a legit botch, like he's done it thousands
of times and I don't really ever seen him watch
like that before. But maybe you're wrong, but whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
But uh, yeah, A j and dragonly one good showing
for Javan, who again another guy that they're pushing the
ship out of and they want to see, they want
to see. They clearly want to see him on the
main roster. He's gonna do big things for them. Leon
Slater is a guy who they're already waiting for that
(01:17:11):
contract end so they can sign him up. But yeah,
like again, eventually I think this is gonna lead to
maybe like another dream match of AJ versus javon maybe
AJ can go well. The talk is that TNA wants
AJ to show up on the premiere on AMC, which
would be pretty fun. Maybe do like an AJ and
(01:17:32):
Leon Slater match, but which how'd you feel about the match.
Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
It's my type of match. But AGAINDA didn't really it
didn't really kick into that. I won't say it didn't
really kick into because it's like eighth gear or whatever,
but it could have been more. It was way too short,
you know what I mean. But it was good, very
good match, but it's just way too short, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
And then we already talked about the main event, of course,
but that was Saturen Knight's main event, seen his last match.
How would you rate the whole show?
Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
Seven and a half out of ten?
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
Agreed, I'll give you a seven a half out tent
all right, So we did almost an hour and a
half talking about the show, which deservingly so because a
lot came from it. So let's kind of skim through
a lot of things, uh raw see him Punk cut
a pretty good promo about Broun Breaker, telling bron Breaker,
(01:18:31):
you know, uh, don't ever talk about my wife like
that ever again, or I'll piss down your skull on
your on your low IQ Brain even talked about his
dad and his uncle, saying, you know, your dumb father
and his even dumb brother Scott, which you can that's
gonna talk about Scott Steiner that way Jesus is a
death wish, and then later on Braun speired the shot
(01:18:55):
of Punk saying, don't ever talk about my family like
that ever again, which we gotta reveal. We gotta reveal
who the mass Man was. And it was to the
surprise of literally no one, it was awesome theory. Awesome
theory was the mass Man who has a shaved head now,
so he's serious, a lot more serious now. And then
(01:19:18):
the rest of the show was what it was. Gunther
came out to massive heel heat, soaked it in, you know,
saying that I made John Cena tap out like a
little bitch, which was probably the first time I heard
I heard Gunther cuss. And then it came back and
soaked up even more heel heat. But yeah, that was
(01:19:40):
pretty much raw to my recollection. I don't know how
how'd you feel about Raw?
Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
I thought it was a very good show, very good show.
Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
Yeah, did you, I mean, did you have any takeaways
from it? Like the Punk promo?
Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
You pretty much covered it all. But I thought it
was very good show, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
And then NXT happened, uh so kind of a controversy.
So the opener was for the Women's North American Championship
Blake Monroe versus THEA Hale. The match was decent in
the beginning. The big spot that everyone's talking about. THEA
Hale goes for a I don't know, like a off
(01:20:25):
the top rope, a kind of a what do you
call like a backslam? Like what do you call it?
Like a cent on sent on? There you go and
lands on Blake Monroe tries to pin her, and the referee,
the referee pretty much botches the count.
Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
So so let I'll let I'll stop you right there
first of office, because I'm I'm pretty passionate on stopping.
If you are a referee in wrestling, you're you're always
supposed to count the three, no matter what legitimately, You're
supposed to count the three, no matter what legitimately. It's
(01:21:08):
there's a lot to blame here, I will say, is
mostly the referee's fault, but there's a lot that happened here.
It's I think it's blame on all three people that
was in the ring at once. Blame on THEA because
THEA really landed on Blake Monroe. I think Blake Moreau
got the error knocked out of her, which delayed her yeah,
(01:21:31):
to delay her her.
Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
Kicking out, but Blake Moroshou had the the presence of
mind to still kick out, and then the referee should
have known that wasn't the fucking finish.
Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
Well. Also, apparently someone pointed something out where you can
hear Blake yell get off of me to THEA. So
yeah this, uh listen, I love THEA. I'm glad Thea's successful.
But it's like her first title win and you know
has an ash looks next to it because you know,
(01:22:07):
and it's hard to be it's hard to feel. It's
hard to be mad at her because obviously it isn't
her fault. It's you know, you said, you know, everyone
plays their part, but like you know, she's very emotional
about it. You know, she put up a video where
she's crying home on the tile saying, you know, three
three and a half years, three and a half years.
So eventually Blake's gonna get that title back, more than
(01:22:31):
likely at New Year's Evil.
Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
But no, just give it back to her next where
you don't drive this shit out. They have they already
have plans for this ship does have her win it
back next week, doing a rematch next week, have win
it back and then from there you can continue on
with where you're gonna continue on with fucking Blake Moreau.
Just make it simple. Don't make this harm than way
it has to be.
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
It kind of seems like they're gonna lead it, they're
gonna stretch it out, so New Year's Evil. That's just
kind of how I look at it. But why why
would they do that because it's in two weeks?
Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Okay as a wrestler or how should I say? If
you were in this position and you know that wasn't
the plans. You know that wasn't a plan, you'll still
stretch it out even though that wasn't the original plan
to begin with.
Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Again, not my booking and not my idea of booking.
I just think that's where they're gonna go.
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
Okay, I understand that, but I'll tell you this that
that that's a that'll be fucking stupid if they were
to do that. What they should do is because wherever
they were gonna have Blake Morrow do next week, don't
have her do it where if it's a match or
another title match, where it is, and maybe it's for
(01:23:46):
her to you know, uh, get a match against someone
to go into New Year's Evil, perhaps right, have her
go out there, beat the nut in five minutes for
the title and just move on to the next thing,
you know, for for this week with her, I just
think that dragged out to New Year's Evil when that
(01:24:06):
wasn't even the plan in the first place. Is to
me that I don't think that will be a great idea,
you know, but whatever, it's not my company.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
For the rest of the show. Moose came out. Uh,
He's going to challenge Ethan Page for the North American
Championship on the last NXT of the year, so that
would be fun. Uh. Hank and Tank versus ot m
h That was again not you know, terrible, but you
know it was a match. Ricky Saints, who's now a heel,
(01:24:41):
costing Javon Evans his championship last week, Uh, came out
and pretty much you know, cut his heel promo, which
I think Ricky works better as a heel. That's just
me like him being the baby face. Like I like Ricky,
but him being a baby face is n'tbelievable. Like he
beat kind of exudes what a heel is that he's
(01:25:03):
coming out wearing designer clothes. He's calling himself pretty Ricky,
so like he just he's a heel, like he wears
better as heel. So I like this for Ricky Saints.
Uh then Javoni Emmans came out and Ricky threw him
to a table, and uh that's that uh ren q
n QCC versus fatal influence to set up a Gray's
(01:25:29):
match with with j C. Jane at New Year's Evil.
Ren QCC one so they look good for it, and
then you have the fatal four way to determine who
will be uh Oba's actual number one contender wrestler. I
don't know why to mixing up my words. At New
(01:25:50):
Year's Evil, so you had Leon Slater, Dion Lennox, Joe Hendry,
and Mel was born to which Leon Slater shockingly won.
So Leon Slater, the TNA X Division champion, will be
challenging the NXT champion Oba Femi at New Year's Evil,
So that should be a fun match. Did you have
(01:26:13):
any closing thoughts on NXD.
Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
Uh No, but glad that Leon Slater is getting this opportunity.
Obviously WWC is a lot in them, and you know,
I don't think you're going to be able with fam me,
but it should be a fairly dawn good match to
two conscious sales. I think this is gonna work together
with each other pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:26:35):
So and uh Oba Oba works better with smaller wrestlers.
I mean, Oba works better with pretty much anyone. But
in the past, you know, he's worked a lot better
with smaller wrestlers, so that should be fun, all right.
So that's that's all the shows. I want to get
to this list real quick and then we can call
it a night.
Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
Okay, So Sports Illustrated put out their Pro Wrestling Awards
for the year of twenty twenty five. So I have
it right here, Eric Justin hasn't seen it. You haven't
seen it, right, No, and.
Speaker 2 (01:27:12):
I don't want to see it, but I guess we
have to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Okay. So Sports Illustrated's Pro Wrestling Awards for the year
twenty twenty five. Can you guess who their choice for
men's Rest of the Year was? Justin?
Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
Just tell me, please, just no, no, come on.
Speaker 3 (01:27:30):
I want you to play along. Come on, please? Do
you do? You do it with me? I want you
to play along.
Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
Who? Who? And who do you think was their choice
for Male Wrestler of twenty twenty five. I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
The men's Wrestler of the Year for Sports Illustrated's Pro
Wrestling Awards for twenty twenty five is hang Man Adam Page.
Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
It's their opinion, so okay.
Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
The woman's rest of the Year is if you had
to guess who it is.
Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
Eel Sky Rear roughly Mercedes Money.
Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
Ding Ding ding Ding, Mercedes Monette. Okay, the belt collector.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
She's losing her belts now, but yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
Oh no. The breakout Star of the Year, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
Kyle Fletcher.
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
Okay, that's fair.
Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
Best best in the ring or just best in ring?
Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
Is best in ring? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
Well, Spray, Yes, we'll lost Spray, that's right, Okay. The
match of the Year, I'm just gonna say, Eo Sky
versus Rear, Ripley versus Bianca bell Air from WrestleMania.
Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
No, that's definitely it's it's something for me right now today.
That is why Matchever. That could change. By next week
we'll do our show.
Speaker 3 (01:29:27):
Promotion of the year, all Elite Wrestling, okay. Next show
of the year a w double or nothing, okay, Next
(01:29:47):
story of the Year Hangman Adam, Paige Page's Redemption arc
right Rivalry of the Year Hangman and Page versus John Boxley. Okay,
he'll turn it the year nail me, all right, comeback
(01:30:09):
Performer of the Year, Elie, you're dragging off. Okay, Best
on the Mic Tony Storm.
Speaker 2 (01:30:19):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
Tag Team of the Year FTR okay. And then twenty
twenty five Legacy Award hang Man Adam, I'm playing John
Cena all right. All right. So that was Sports Illustrated's
Best of twenty twenty five. So do with that what
you will?
Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:30:43):
Next week? Nah, next week is our year end Award.
It'll be on a Tuesday, not on Wednesday, because Tuesday
was the better day.
Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
For us, and Wednesday is Christmas Eve.
Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
So yeah, we yeah, we're not gonna do that on Christmas.
We're gonn I'm doing on Tuesday. So last week I
gave out the nominations or categories. I decided to revise
a lot of the choices because they seemed very dated,
so to speak. They seemed a little passe. So I
decided to remove pretty much all the I guess you
(01:31:20):
can call them negative.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
The just go through the current well no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
Let me. I'm trying to explain it to the people,
So I removed any of the worst categories. I'll put
it that way. So it's gonna be more about us
pang homage to what we think was the best of
twenty twenty five. Instead of focusing more on the worst,
and there was a lot of worst, Let's talk about
the best. So here are the choices. Instead of best
(01:31:46):
and worst match of the year, it's just match of
the year, Male wrestler of the Year, Female wrestler of
the Year, Tag team of the Year, some new ones,
babyface wrestler of the year, heel wrestler of the year,
underrated wrestler of the year, most improved wrestler of the year.
(01:32:10):
The twenty twenty six is my year. Award Shocking Moment
of the Year, pay per View of the Year, or
pl e of the Year, whatever, finisher of the year,
so wrestling finisher of the year. I've had best promo,
I change it to best talker, so best talker, best entrance, theme,
(01:32:32):
comeback of the Year, Rookie of the Year, best announced team,
Faction of the Year, TV show of the Year, Technical
wrestler of the Year, and finally, feud of the year,
So those will be the categories for our year und award.
(01:32:54):
I sent justin the list. So by next week on Tuesday,
we will be doing the whole show with a lot
of categories. I think there's more categories than there was before,
just talking about what we thought was our favorites, our
favorite things about wrestling, whether it be wrestlers or entrance
themes or what have you. So that's going to be Tuesday, people,
(01:33:17):
