to the Extra Point Show from theExtra Point Studios right here in Charms City.

(00:21):
This is the Extra Point Show, the return of the Extra Point Show.
I'm your host Vasilios, and todaywe are coming off a electric wind
in the Bronx as the Orioles tookdown the Yankees seventeen to five last night.
I got a little bit of highlightsnackage here for you, and we'll
head to the Bronx right now.And here exactly what the o's did.

(00:43):
Break bullets fly ball in the deepright field at the wall. God that
Cedric Mullin show continues, and thebrown Mountcastle, Mount Castle down to the
left field corner of two ups ofstore. Punchman trying to make a three

(01:04):
head is in there on ahead ofthe throne, and Supreme started the rocks,
and here's gonna flip on it righthere this time Anthony Powers won to
write out of the wall, andI thought God found the short porch of
the blue seats in white center andsun time there gets to double digits in

(01:25):
the Mount Hayes with a rocket elevatedthe left center field Austin Hayes and the
Oriel fop pad. Loston Hayes firsthit of the game comes with authority.
Oh yes, Loston Hayes with alove all today Karen ripping the door of

(01:46):
the hay Damn repeat and want towin it was and today obviously bringing back
the podcast after a three year yourhiatus here of my time down in New
Orleans. Now I'm back home.I'm excited to be back. So I
figured I would I would dust thisoff a little bit. And who better

(02:09):
to have on than a We justwe talked about the Orioles to start,
one of the future faces of theteam. We got Dylan Beaver's of the
Buie Bay Socks on here. Dylan, thank you so much for joining joining
me today. Bro's it's it's reallyexciting to have you on to kind of
help me bring this thing back inYeah, thank you. So first I

(02:35):
got to ask you, because there'sso much excitement surrounding the major league team
right now, what is it liketo just be part of this and you
you you you kind of look atthis and you're like, wow, okay,
I can seriously contribute to this team. That is I would say almost
all I would say is a WorldSeries contender right now. Yeah, it's

(02:58):
pretty awesome coming up in an organization. It's seeing so much success at the
major league level, and you know, I'm hoping obviously that one day I
can contribute to the Orioles and uhbe a part of that team. That
would be pretty special group to bea part of. And uh see,

(03:19):
you know a lot of winning inthe future form. So you know,
hopefully, hopefully that's where I endup. So you were you were drafted
a couple of years ago now,and what's your what's your journey been like?
So far? I know I've talkedto plenty of guys in your position
before. I talked to Jordan Westburgright after he was drafted in look where
he is now. So, like, what what's your what's your journey been

(03:39):
like? How how have people beentreating you? Just give me the rundown.
Yeah, I feel like since Igot to the Orioles that I've developed
a ton and uh you know,I've met a ton of new new people
and uh, you know, madea bunch of lifelong friends. I think

(04:01):
since I got to the Orioles anduh so that's pretty awesome. You know,
I was thinking about it the otherday. I'm about, Yeah,
I'm coming up on too two anda half years playing in the Oriel system,
and it's it's about the same timethat I spent in college. So

(04:21):
I've you know, I've realized I'vebecome pretty close with this group, especially
the players, and yeah, it'spretty special just being a part of it.
And uh, yeah, I feellike the Oriols do a great job
as far as player development, andI feel like I've gotten a whole lot
better since I got here. Soyeah, it's been a great experience overall.

(04:47):
So going from playing college ball tothe to the o's like, what
what's what's what's it like, what'sthe difference between between the collegiate ranks and
then the minor league ranks. It'sa lot harder. That's the first thing
I think that, you know, that's a key contributor to my development,

(05:10):
is like, you know, you'rebeing challenged every every single day, and
yeah, it's just it's definitely moredifficult. There's more games, and I
think that's kind of the main thingis you're you're just gonna get better because

(05:30):
you're forced to almost now being herelike off the field stuff like I know
you've only been here for a coupleof years now, but you've got to
have a favorite spot to eat.To eat, yeah, to eat?
Bro, Come on, I don'tknow. I'm not much of a food
to you. I I get yourname brand stuff. You know it's Cane,

(05:58):
Chipotle, Chick fil Ale, allthat stuff. I'm trying to thank
D. Now hang on here, and while you have time to think here,
I need to ask you about theCanes thing, because this is so
divisive, especially at work for me, there's constantly the conversation about is the
Canes chicken actually good without the sauce? And I personally think it's no.

(06:19):
Do you have a personal opinion onthat? I think no. I think
the sauce is an important piece there. I don't think I would like it
as much without the cane sauce. So I agree with you on that.
All right, Well that's that.So I mean like anything, like what
what do you like to do offthe field, Like obviously you mentioned you're

(06:41):
not a foodie, but like whatdo you do when when you don't when
you don't have the cleats tied onand you don't have a bat in your
hand. I spend I spent alot of time on my PlayStation, so
I do that. And then whenI'm when I'm at home in Florida,

(07:02):
I usually it's fishing and golf iswhat I spend most of my time doing.
I haven't fished a ton up here. I try, you know,
I went a few times last yearand have much luck. But and I
don't really golf in season, justbecause I'm a little tired from playing games.
So but yeah, it's a it'sa lot of a lot of PlayStation.

(07:26):
This is kind of what I getinto Nintendo. Uh the switch when
when we're in season. Any anyparticular games for the PlayStation. Yeah,
right now, I've been playing alot of PGA golf and then two K
Basketball Fortnite. Yeah, no,no, I have to I was gonna

(07:54):
say, I have to ask fortwo K. What do you do you
play? Like my career? Yeah? Okay, so like I assume you
have like friends you run with? What? What? What what do you
play on the on the in thegame, like what what positions you make
your play? So I have aton I I have every position, but
like the main half, I havea I have a six, A six

(08:18):
six point guard. That's that's kindof my my bread and butter, playmaker
sharpshooter. So man, you're speakingmy language right now. It's exactly what
I build. It's my friend andI we we he runs, he runs
the big he makes some some sevento three DEMI god, and I make
a six six point guard with theTyrese Haliburton pass animations, you know,

(08:39):
like and then then I got likea ninety four to three point shot.
So yeah, I play maker sharpshooter one hundred. We got to run
sometime, Dylan, Now, comeon, no doubt I can play the
two. I'm I'm more of aCJ. McCollum off all guard, you
know what I'm saying. But yeah, you mentioned Fortnite too. I get
on everyone once in a while ifI'm like feeling feeling competitive in my friends

(09:03):
and I we want to run.Uh dude, are you one of those
guys that goes into the store andbuy skins for those for your for your
game for the games? No,I've had. I just use the same
skin that I got like way backwhen the game first came out, the
the black Night skin. That's likethat's the only one I use. So

(09:26):
I haven't bought a skin forever,but yeah, no, I'm right there
with you. I I get likethe the VC like throughout, Like I've
been playing like for years, solike I had the collected from winning however
many games whatever, and so likeI have like the the I don't know
if you're a big Star Wars guy, but I have like the Boba Fette

(09:46):
skin. I have the Venom skinfrom Spider Man. So that's that's that's
where that's why I like cycle throughthose. But it's fun. Yeah,
yeah, no, I know youyou say you do a lot of PlayStation
do fishing. What's what's like,in your opinion, the best place to
fish. I think Florida probably.I mean I grew up in California and

(10:11):
fishing there we just kind of snuckonto golf courses and and try to catch
a little bass out of their ponds. But I mean in Florida, there's
you know, there's so much youcan catch, especially in the ocean.
So I think Florida probably takes thecake as far as best fishing. What.

(10:33):
No, you got to tell me, what's like the biggest fish you've
ever caught. I haven't caught reallyany big fish. I'm not I'm not
a professional angler by any means, but maybe a few pounds bass, nothing,
nothing crazy. But yeah, So, Ali, how's it been with

(10:58):
with the Sox? Like, justlike, I know we talked about the
organization as a whole already, butlike just the Bass Sox specifically, from
from my experience with them, they'rereally easy to work with. They're very
accommodating. I mean, I couldn'tsay a bad thing about them, but
I would love to hear what whatdo you have to say about them?

(11:20):
Yeah, I mean they're they doa really good good job. I mean
they're they're they're definitely like player oriented, So I think there's you know,
you can really succeed. So theyjust provide everything you could possibly need and

(11:41):
it makes it soever you guys, you know, and in a good spot,
now, do you like? Downthere, you kind of gotta build
these these relationships with your teammates andyou guys essentially become like brothers, right,
Like, So, it is thereanyone that you're like super particularly close

(12:01):
with on your team? Yeah,I mean there's a good handful of you
guys. I'd say, like thefirst one that comes to mind would be
Max Wagner just because kind of sincethe jump, since we got here,
I've I've roomed with him. I'mnot right now, but he was hurt

(12:24):
to start the year, but yeah, I've roomed with him pretty much all
throughout it, I think since wewere in del Marva and and then he
stayed at my house in spring trainingtoo, So I've I've spent a ton
of a ton of time with Maxand uh so become really close with him.

(12:46):
And yeah, he's a great dude. But there's a there's a lot
of guys in our or that arereally good dudes, you know, and
we're all kind of striving for acommon goal. So yeah, you get
pretty close with with these guys, especially because you're just spending so much time
around them you close with your family. Yeah. Yeah. Do they ever

(13:13):
come out and visit and catch somegames. Yeah, yeah, they come
out. They've come out once thisyear, but they'll come out again.
So, I mean last year theyprobably they came out three or four times.
But in college, they came toevery every series pretty much. In
college. It's a little bit moredifficult now just because there's so many games

(13:39):
to catch and there all the wayacross the country. But yeah, they
they come out as much as theycan. If they're not out here,
they're watching it on the stream,so yeah, they're pretty supportive. Awesome,
man, Well, hey, thankyou so much for joining me today.
It's been it's been great to toget to to know you and to

(14:01):
just to hear a little bit fromyou. And I know a lot of
people that are gonna be listening tothis are just like, hey, this
guy is gonna be they I knowa lot of folks personally that are like,
when are they gonna start calling upDylan Beaver's to to triple A?
When are they gonna what is hegonna make his major league debut? And
I know, I mean you alreadygot a lot of fans here and then
that's for for a team is asgood as it is right now, and

(14:22):
it's loaded at every position. Likeyou have a lot of folks that are
like praying on your success. Solike, what what does that mean?
What does that mean to you?Uh? Yeah, that's awesome. I
mean coming from cal Berkeley's you know, there's not a ton of baseball fans,

(14:43):
so it's not you know, WestCoast baseball is a little bit different
than like the SEC and and thea CC. There's there's not a ton
of fans, so it's it's prettycool. You know, it's extra motivation,
you know, because you want toprove those people right and uh,
you know the people that are cheeringfor you and believe in you. So

(15:05):
yeah, it's pretty awesome, especiallyfrom the organization that drafted me to have
support there. Pretty it's pretty cool. So you know, I'm hoping that
I end up with with the Oriolesand and on the big league team and

(15:26):
help contribute there. That would bethe dream for me. So all right,
Dylan dude, thank you for joiningjoining me today. And then,
uh, is there anything you wantto say to the to the fans before
before we dip out of here andI'm putting you on the spot here.
Uh yeah, the job on theYankees. You know, we made light

(15:56):
work of them. So there itis, there it is. We we
love we love to see an O'swin against the Yankees. Thank you guys
so much for tuning in today.I'll be back next week with another episode
of The Extra Point Show. I'myour host, Massilios. Catch you next
time. It's over
