(00:35):
Hello everyone, and welcome to theOne, the Only, the Fan Show.
I'm the team man, Richard Demonand I do play by play for
the Jamaican Bob sled team. Actuallyno, I don't. I am your
host. And this is my punishmentbecause the man in that box, who
(00:56):
he applauds every time the plane lands, but he did beat me in his
third pick them in a row,So this is a belated punishment for me
on my end. He's the oneand only father Malk Malcolm McCoy. Hey,
how do I look? You're lookinggood, man, I must say
You're definitely welcome with open arms andthe prestigious Dreadlock community. So I'm liking
(01:22):
it a lot. Man, Ilike you. It's gonna be so hot
under this I can feel it already. But hey, a deal is a
deal is a deal is a deal? Or a bet is a bet is
a bet as a bet? Whateveryou want to say. Uh, that's
how we roll here on the FansShow. I honestly I want to I
wish we could see out there, like there was reaction videos for people that
(01:44):
just like scroll across you know, their Twitter feed or their Instagram or they're
just you know, browsing YouTube channelsand they come across clips of the show,
and there was the times that I'vehad pie in the face, I've
been wearing a Seahawks jersey and nowI've got dreadlocks, and they're just like,
(02:05):
what's coming on here? Like there'sif you missed the first like ten
minutes of the episode, you watchthese clips and you're like, this is
a great take on this, butwhy does he have a dreadlock? Wigle
Rich. I will pay any amountof money to see their reaction to the
punishments. Man, this is thefunniest part to show you. I know
(02:29):
that it's gonna be one of thoseepisodes when the punishment is happening on the
episode. Thankfully the happened at theend last week because that got everywhere,
like it got all over the place. But Malk having to post Instagram in
a Cowboys jersey is still one ofmy favorites. I had to do a
(02:51):
drum solo, But it's the onesthat happened on the show that are really
good. And we got to figureout for Malcolm because his three peat has
come to an end, and soI am now in charge of picking the
punishment, which we will get tolater. But of course, to start
every episode, we like to getthrough our good, bad and funny.
And guess what with episode four hundredand eighty eight, that means a new
(03:15):
month, So we will put somethingto bed that we maybe we're a little
bit too focused on or gave alittle bit too much time and attention on
last month, and we're just gonnaput it to bed and move on.
So we'll do that after the good, bad and funny. But malk what's
your good, bad and funny fromthe weekend? I'm sure there's no shortage.
(03:35):
Yeah, yeah, very eventful weekend, I would say in the sports
world or week should I say?For the good? I have Reggie bush
Man for the college fans and youknow, just USC fans all around,
finally got reunited with his Asman Trophyafter fourteen years. Yeah, yeah,
we all know the story. Wewe all know the story. That man,
(04:00):
he got well, they demanded itback because of allegedly he accepted money
and stuff and while in college, and you know, we all know that's
illegal, quote unquote, So youknow, man, it's good to see
him getting back what he deserves. And because I mean, honestly, whether
(04:23):
he accepted the money or not, that doesn't take away from his game.
Man. He was an amazing collegiate, absolute amazing professional athlete. Man,
he deserves every bit of it.So I was happy to see that for
sure. For the bad, I'mgonna keep this light because I know we'll
speak on a little more uh laterin the episode. But man, more
(04:44):
more trouble in the AFL. Man, I'm sorry the Iowa rampage get disbanded.
If I'm not mistaken, I'm notsure if that's the proper term for
it, but you know, they'rehaving some problems with ownership, some uh,
just a bunch of the problems uptop that trickle down. You know,
it all starts up top, andif its issues in the front office,
is always gonna trickle down to theteam. Very unfortunate for those guys,
(05:09):
But like we said, man, that's why we wait and see.
You know, it's not too muchthat he said beforehand, but unfortunately it's
it's unfolding how a lot of peopleexpected it to. So for the funny,
I had a chance to take alook at the Tom Brady roast that
was that was aired on Netflix thispast weekend. Right, don't spoil too
(05:30):
much of it for me, becausethat's why I didn't have it as my
funnies because I haven't watched it yet. Yeah, yeah, a lot of
people like man, but now Imust say, I mean, there's a
lot of gas in there. It'sone thing like to see these guys perform
at a high level on the field, but the Rose gives you a chance
to see more like the humanistic andpersonal said, and that was that was
really fun. Man. Tom Brady'sa lot funnier than I thought he was.
(05:54):
You know, they had guys ontheir former teammates, Danny and Mendola,
uh, Gronkowski, of course, they had comedians Kevin Hart, Jeff
Rows, even Bill Belichick out thatthen it was kind of funny too.
So I mean, that's funny stuff. Man. If you haven't watched it
yet, I mean I definitely suggestyou guys take a look at it,
because I mean, they showed anotherside to all those gathers, and it
(06:15):
was it's always nice seeing you know, guys having a good time just outside
of what they do professionally. Sothat was that was pretty cool. It
is fun to see that. Anduh yeah, I've seen some of the
jokes because obviously the clips have alreadymade their rounds and some of them are
like wow, and not just likewhat was said, but by who,
And it's just like Edelman came toplay, all right. But I remember
(06:41):
it kind of dawning on me,just like how the personal and professional lives
of people can be so different, and how it's like they tried to maybe
like shield themselves and protect that thatpedestal that they've maybe been built up to
or put themselves on. And itwas there was a roast, oddly enough,
and Hulk Hogan was there. Hewasn't the one being roasted, but
(07:04):
he hopped up on the mic andyou could tell that he was having trouble
delivering some of the jokes because you'venever heard language like that come out of
the Hulkster, right, And youknow, it was so humbling to me
just to see a guy who islike, you know, eat your vitamins,
say your prayers and all this stufffor kids back in the eighties and
(07:26):
early nineties, and here he's tryingto like tell dirty jokes that are roast,
and it was just so I guess, just refreshing to see that it's
like, okay, so it's youknow, they really try to be that
person and kind of protect that. And then of course, like when other
people stepped up and called him outlike he got, he got a lot
of it. I can't wait tosee it. So I'm holding off there.
(07:46):
But my good, bad and funny. My good is IFL, my
bad is NL, and my funnyis AFL. But no, in all
seriousness, the good was WWE Backlash. It was the first premium live event
in France. The crowd showed up, showed out, reminded me of how
much I want to go to Europeand be a part of like a soccer
match or something, because it's justI wish I knew what the gap was
(08:09):
between that culture across the pond inhours here because they just embraced their events
so differently than we do. AndI think a lot of it is because
we're trying to capture it all throughour phone and be the person that gets
more likes than anybody else. Ijust wish that we were more in the
moment. But perhaps to France, they that was great, That was a
(08:31):
fantastic crowd. The bad really isthe NAL So they this is something that
you don't know because it was beforeyour time as far as a professional indoor
player. But twenty seventeen, therewas a lot of conflict between the CIF
and IFL. Oddly enough, andthere were two teams that were trying to
jump from CIF to IFL because theyhad been meaning to they geographically. It
(08:56):
made a lot of sense. Theywanted better competition, Michigan Ironman and the
Bloomington Edge. Well, the CIF, who a lot of the people that
were a part of that are alsoa part of this incarnation of the NAL.
Oddly enough, they filed an injunctionagainst them that said no, like,
you have this agreement to play forus, so you're not going to
(09:20):
play at all if you're going totry that. Like they didn't even get
give them an ultimatum, like youeither play for us, you don't play
at all. It was like, you're just not going to play at all.
And I felt so bad and Iwas so angry at the CIF because
all these players now had to finda new team and by that point rosters
were pretty much set, and youhad staff and coaches and everything that had
to basically figure out something else todo now. And so I remember whoever's
(09:45):
running The Dodge City Law Page hashad a lot to say about this in
the AFL, and they made apost about somebody laugh reacting to the NAL's
announcement that Topeka had folded, saying, Hey, these are players that have
to find a new home, andit's staff and coaches that are out of
the job now and blah blah blah. Why is this funny? And it's
like this person is part of thatsame group that is now filing an injunction
(10:07):
with the West Texas and Desert Hawksthat says you're not going to play for
the AFL. You're not going toplay at all because we're going to tie
you up in legal stuff. Andit's just so petty to me, and
that's why the NAL really like theycan go ahead and block me. I
don't care at this point because it'snot a league worth covering if this is
(10:28):
how they're going to behave, it'ssad, it's pathetic. Where was that
energy about the Topeka thing with, you know, putting another team in that
same spot, even if it isfor legal reasons, like oh, they
signed this thing and whatever. It'slike I've signed contracts too, and there's
always been a buyout so that ifI needed to go somewhere else, I
could pay that amount and go there. But to not even give the team
(10:48):
the option to to you know, play for you, or to pay this
amount and be free of you.Obviously, multiple teams have tried to leave
the people affiliated with the CIF andnow NAL to go to other leagues.
That speaks volumes for how things areran in those leagues. And so it's
(11:09):
which is why I know that youwant to go back to outdoor, and
I encourage that. I hope thatyou do. But if you ever came
to me and said, hey, thinking about going back to indoor, you
and I are gonna have a talkabout which teams you can go for and
which teams you cannot go for forsure, And I mean I will welcome
that too, because I mean it'shard to choose nowadays, man. I
(11:30):
mean, you go to a team. And that's why I feel for these
players so much, man, becausethey go they tied to these teams and
during the off season that they thinkare going to be a great situation,
a good opportunity for some exposure. But like it's just said that once they
get there, you know, thingsget rolling you kind of too deep in
(11:50):
to actually you know, take astep back or whatever the case is.
And you know, it's a wholebunch of legal trouble stuff that you don't
even have any control over. Imean, as a player there, we're
used to to control them what wecan control on the field. You know,
we are our troubles coming if we'renot performing well enough or if we
you know, miss the meeting orsomething like that. Uh, these guys
(12:11):
are playing their ass off. Butyou know, unfortunately, it doesn't really
matter what they're doing. It's justit's just up top, it's they have
an issue. So unfortunately, likeI said, it trickles down. So
yeah, and so's that's why it'sbad. It's not funny, like it's
just sad. It's petty, it'spathetic. It's like I you know,
(12:31):
if if people are leaving a companyand it's more than just one person,
it goes beyond like disgruntled employees. At that point, there's clearly something wrong
with like the people that are handlingthings in management. And then today the
Oklahoma Flying Aces they've had to ceaseoperations or go dormant. According to a
copy of the website, release ofthe NAL and it's just like, Okay,
(12:52):
if things are this bad in yourleague, and they were this bad
in the league that you were previouslywith and teams were trying to leave you
then and they're trying to leave younow, it's just like you need to
go step in front of a mirrorand be like, is this the problem?
Yeah? Probably staring in right backat you, that's the problem.
I'm just gonna say it, you'rethe problem. So anyway, my funny
(13:15):
is the AFL. It's more ofthe stuff that we talked about last week,
right where there was some good stuffand there was some not so good
stuff. Props to the Washington wolfPack. They really showed out as far
as their facilities. They look likea professional, professionally iran organization and team.
They did lose, but I meanthat's more of what you want,
(13:37):
and it was a team I thinka lot of people didn't peg to be
one of those teams right that wasgoing to have good rebound nets or have
a quality turf for things like that. So props to them, obviously,
you know, I give them therub. They're from my home state in
Washington up there in Everett, butNo, the AFL is just funny because
Lee Hutton's nowhere to be found, and there's been like two coaches is that
(14:00):
and two gms that have gone onrecord and interviews calling for his resignation and
and all this. Meanwhile the AFLofficial like x page and Facebook and Instagram
are just flooding it with like topplays and all the action. It's just
like, okay, but are theplayers being paid? Like, do they
have a place to go? Arethey locked out of hotels? So that
was my funny but yeah, it'sit's it's crazy how we are at this
(14:28):
point in everybody's season. And it'staken just about less than a month for
the AFL for the wheels to essentiallyfall off, just over a month and
a half for the NAL to basicallybe down to like four teams for real
teams, and then the IFL tojust be like yeah, you know,
like yeah, yeah, what's up? You know, that's none of my
(14:48):
business. So and we all knowI have my issues with people in the
IFL, but I'll give them theirprop swords to do. Like they're the
most stable league out there right now, So time to put something to bed.
Malcolm, what do you got forsomething that maybe we talked a little
bit too much on or spend alittle too much time and effort on last
(15:09):
month that you know, it's timeto put this thing to bet and move
on. So see, I knowI've dragged you into these conversations. You
all seem to care about it asmuch as I do. But man,
sports beton, Man, I feellike I would be the dead horse long
enough, and I've spoken on ita couple of times, but now we
(15:30):
all know how I feel about it, and how it's potentially affecting sports and
you know, just the referees performanceand things like that. I'll go on
record saying that I feel like certainstates just don't need sports betting at all,
and certain refs and players just shouldyou know, be reprimanded for sure.
(15:50):
But I guess I'm ready to makepeace with it and finally put the
bed. Man, I'm tired ofhearing myself talk about it, So I'm
putting to the sports betting. Thatwould be the last time you hear me
speak about it on this show.On the show, I'll get text about
it. You know, can youbelieve this spread? You know what's coming?
(16:14):
Because I mean it's something that theresn'tbeen been throwing me away just for
the past couple of years. Butyeah, yeah, I'm ready to put
it to be. Okay, he'sputting it to bed. I gotta throw
my little John out there once ina while for sure. All Right,
So Malcolm has read the story sayingit a lullabye and gave it to bend
(16:34):
a drill to sports betting and putit to bed. For me, it's
na l A f L stuff.I mean, they both The fact that
they even got mentioned, especially theNL. The fact that the NL got
mentioned period last month is more energythan I ever planned on devoting to them.
I know that we kind of leftthat door cracked open. Uh,
we've got friends in the NL.I feel bad for him, but you
(16:56):
know, I mean, yeah,I think he's doing well, so good
for him. I wish give nothingbut the best. He's a phenomenal player,
So hopefully things don't creep up toCarolina and ruin that whole experience for
him. But you know, we'vegot friends in that league, and so
it's not like we have any illwill towards them, like you're guilty by
association or something. It's like,no it's just the stupid people that run
(17:18):
it. So I'm ready to putthem the bed. And then the Endoor
War, I'm ready to put thatin the bed. That song is so
annoying now, like, oh mygod, like keep repeats. That's the
worst part, dude. So firstand foremost props to the guy that they
collaborated with that this is doing whateverfor his career. But my god,
dude, if I have to hearit twenty seven times every game, and
(17:42):
I watch every game every week, that's a lot of indoor War. And
I've found myself like it playing onloop through my head as I'm trying to
sleep, and I'll wake up belike no, like we we gotta do
something else. So the hashtag, the theme or whatever it is, and
(18:03):
the song like no, I'm readyto just put it to bed and move
on. So there is our putit to bed, which we do at
the beginning of every new month hereon the Fans Show, so that we
can move on to something maybe alittle different. But I think that those
were two good ones, Malcolm. As far as put it to bed,
I think that you and your sportsbetting, I mean, I didn't mind
(18:25):
it, but I get where you'recoming from. As far as for my
own piece of mind, I gottaput this to bed, all right.
So Week number eight action packed week. Even though four teams were on a
bye, we had three previously winlessteams all get their first win of the
season, So that means drum roll, and then there was one one winless
(18:48):
team in the league and now oneremaining undefeated teams. As crazy as that
is, because I don't think anybodysaw that come in going into the week.
I mean I looked back at ouraddictions and picks for this and of
the three games that we picked asfar as that featured winless teams, there's
only one that I may have changed, and you and I mentioned that previously,
(19:11):
and it was the Siux Falls GreenBay one. I was like,
why am I nervous about this? And then sure enough, you know that
happens. But we'll go ahead andstart from the top. So Jacksonville they
are winless no more. They beatTulsa. I have no reason to look
back at our options as far asokay, you've got to pick one team
that's winless to come out with theirfirst victory. Who's it going to be
(19:32):
like, there's nothing that tells methat Jackson is going to win this,
But somehow Sam Castronova knew, like, this is crazy. So they put
up forty points for the first timeall season. Forty seven forty four is
your final. Tulsa falls to threeand three Jacks one to five. That
ending, man, it was crazybecause they didn't have any time left and
they had a timeout, and Ijust feel so bad because I feel like
(19:55):
that's twice now that Tulsa has letlike mismanagement of time and timeout interfere with
what could be a victory. Nowthey would have had to do a lot
just to like tie and maybe gointo overtime. But still it's one of
those things you know that it's like, you know, make sure you've got
it handled. But this game,Jacks was ahead, I think twenty to
(20:17):
seven or something. Well, thenTulsa ties it up in the third quarter
and it's a track meet. Theygo back and forth, back and forth
until late in the fourth Jax holdsTulsa out of the end zone into a
field goal and that changed everything. That was the game changer because that they
couldn't stop Jacks. Oddly enough, like the offense came out swinging. They
(20:38):
were clicking. They were firing onall cylinders. So Peyton eighteen to twenty
four, one hundred and seventy nineyards, five touchdowns through the air.
Smith had one interception and that wasreally probably the difference maker, if not
the field goal. I mean,Malcolm, like you watch that game,
how do you feel as far aswhat Jax did and what Tulsa didn't do?
(21:00):
Because this is coach Jones and weknow he likes to be methodical.
One thing I noticed about that gametoo, watching Coach Jones, just when
the camera panned over his way,he always did kind of seem very stoic
and relax. I mean, forthat reason, I thought he had like
some kind of secret weapon in hisback pocket or what the case is.
But I mean Jackson was just pouringit on and for a while it seemed
(21:22):
like he didn't have an answer. So I think, like Brian said,
it was just those key pieces inthose right positions and the intensity. Man,
they came out playing the swing andit's just it was crazy. So
I mean, they not to saythey look like a different team. I
think that they are playing with thesame intensity they have been playing, but
they were just more focused and Imean it shows because they knew who they
(21:44):
were playing against. They knew whatthey were up against skill wise, and
they came to play. And that'sjust the difference. Sometimes, you know,
with two good teams, too talentedteams, the difference is just who's
more focused. And I think Jacksonvillefor sure was more focused. So that
was your first winless team to geta win, and against the team that.
I mean, it's just crazy becauseyou had options, right, Okay,
(22:07):
three winless teams, pick one that'sgoing to get a win. None
of us, I think would have. Somehow Castro Nova did, so props
to him for being able to predictit. And he just like so casually
too. It'll probably happen this weekend. Like I don't even know if he
knew who the opponent was, butdamn dude, like Sam, Sam was
on it all right. So oursecond Friday game and our second team that
was previously winless and now gets theirfirst win came from Sue Falls, South
(22:32):
Dakota, Green Bay Blizzard and theSue Falls Storm. Final score there thirty
eight forty six. So Green Baydrops to four and two. They've won
four of their last five. Theyrun a four game winning streak, but
now they'll have to regroup. SueFalls, though, I think it was
only a matter of time before theyput it together, and they finally did.
Lorenzo Brown was back but didn't havelike a huge impact like you thought
(22:52):
that maybe he would. This wasa ground and pound game for Sue Falls,
which a lot of indoor teams justif they're not prepared for it,
it's gonna be a long day,you know. And I think Green Bay
has been so good defensively, butit's been in the secondary and so maybe
their line needs a little work. But Red he had a great game.
And this one also came down toa single play. There was a kick
(23:14):
return by Green Bay and the ballgot ripped out of the guy's hands and
it wasn't just a turnover. Itwas returned for a touchdown. And now
Sue Falls has this lead and GreenBay was just never able to get past
them or hold them out of theend zone. So second game, one
play defies the whole thing, andit's the second team that was winless to
get their first win. I mean, it's crazy to think, but I
(23:40):
think Miler maybe just had a badday. Eighteen to thirty one hundred and
sixty five yards of TD in interceptionhe was sacked three times. So Claude
Davis in that line doing some reallygood work. But this is probably what
we thought we would see from SueFalls eventually ground game though, good work
there. Yeah, yeah, forsure, I would say so just to
(24:03):
add on what you said about, you know, Mile just having an off
date. No disrespect to suit Fallsdefense, because I mean they're they're,
like you said, Claude Davis, they got some experience on that side,
man, and you know sometimes theylike the movie. Any given Sunday,
I mean that's all you can say, any any given game day. Really,
(24:25):
I mean, you know, youcan't really count any team out.
We learned that just as past weekendfor sure. So yeah, I think
they had Max Miiler's number, andyeah, they came to play in the
show. So that takes us toFrisco and San Antonio, a rematch of
the game from a week prior, which the gun Slingers were victorious in that
(24:48):
one, giving Frisco their first lossof the season. This one comes down
to another single play or single seriesreally. Final score sixty two fifty seven,
and it ends on a Castronova interceptionhis only interception, So it wasn't
that interception that defied the whole game, but it ended basically the same way,
just a different team as their previousmatchups. So I think this one
(25:12):
was interesting just because Edwards exited thegame so early. So enter Harrington who
goes nine to thirteen one hundred andthree yards, three touchdowns through the air
and three on the ground, andpoor Sam eighteen to twenty five two hundred
and twenty eight five touchdowns through theair, and man, he makes it
look so effortless, Like I'm watchingSam play and it's just ridiculous. There
(25:36):
was I think early in the firsthalf he overthrew a receiver and I'm not
even necessarily sure it was his fault. He just throws it, maybe the
guy wasn't running fast enough. Butthen like the next play, tries it
again to a different guy and nailsit, you know, connects for an
easy, like forty yard touchdown. It was. It's ridiculous how easy he
makes it look like he's got tobe top three quarterback in the league.
(25:57):
Yeah, easily, easily, Andwe've been talking about it for some time.
Man, he's he's just he justhe's one of those guys who does
everything right. Man, not totry to pin any losses on any one
person in particular, but well, like we said before, they when they
do lose, it's definitely not hisfault because he put the same in the
(26:17):
best possible position every time. Itjust so happens that their opponent was a
little more prepared at this time. But yeah, man shout out the same
always. Man, he's a he'sa great player, former teammate, and
uh yeah, I'm just a fanof his player, honestly, So Frisco
back in the win call. Unfortunately, the back to back wins will stop
(26:37):
at just two for San Antonio. But they're they're putting it together. This
is not gonna be, you know, a loss and then a series of
losses. I don't think I thinkthey're gonna have more wins than losses,
you know, moving forward in theseason. So a lot of bright future
for them. And that brings usto the next action on Saturday, Quad
City in Iowa. This one, like you and I kind of said,
(27:00):
is this like maybe a trap game? Quad City's kind of been back and
forth, but so is Tulsa. Now they've been like win loss, win,
loss, but Quad City I reallythought that this was a game that
they needed, just like for theirconfidence, and they lose fifty three fifty
five and it was three defensive slashspecial team scores for Iowa that made this
(27:23):
just a miserable day for Quad Citybecause neither offense did very well. Kyle
King eight of eighteen ninety two yards, two tds in an interception, so
it's not like he put two hundredthrough the air and had five touchdowns and
you know, jud he had anotherjut Ericsson kind of day. He did
pretty well, but there was justa few more turnovers for Quad City than
(27:44):
there was Iowa. Very close game, but that was your third and final
team that was winless playing that weekendto get a win, and so now
all eyes focus to poor Duke Cityand I don't know if it's going to
be, you know, the nexttime they play. But fun act,
every team that had a Star Warsnight, not just the theme, but
a special jersey one that weekend. That was crazy. I'm starting to fall
(28:11):
in love with it. Man.I don't know about all these jerseys.
That's all some pretty good ones. That's awesome, so not so not so
much so, but I'm all forit. I love and it was like
kind of incorporating the fan lore andstuff like that into into the game.
So it was really cool. Sojust fun factor for I guess next year,
maybe bet on the team with theStar Wars theme jerseys. I guess
(28:36):
keep that in mind. So thatbrings us to the Battle of Unbeaten.
Somebody had to walk away still witha perfect record. Came down to two.
I think a little quicker than wethought as far as who was remaining
and then where we were at inWeek seven. But Vegas sixty two,
bay Area forty three. This one, there's not a single moment that you
(28:57):
can point out where it's like,oh, that that's where it happened,
like bay Area just they seemed outof rhythm. They seemed off their game,
like in every aspect. Both teamsplayed two quarterbacks. Jerome Johnson did
great, Rena did all right,Neil did okay, But Felix Harper three
touchdowns, three interceptions. That's notgoing to help you win. So it's
(29:19):
weird because these two teams, thenumber one and number two team undisputedly,
and yet they played two quarterbacks throughoutthe game and one just looked like they
struggled so much. I just Idon't know really what else to say about
this one. It's hard to say, really, I mean, you can't
really put your finger on what exactlythe problem is. Like you said,
(29:41):
they're too great teams, so it'shard to pinpoint one one problem in particular.
And it's it's kind of funny tothink that the two undefeated teams are
still kind of trying to find theirfooting at this point in the season,
well with the from the quarterback positionespecially, But I think it just came
back and came down to the whopretty much, who put the most points
(30:06):
on the board. And I think, surprisingly enough, Vegas seemed to be
in control the entire game, nomatter who they who they played at quarterback
or you know what positions, whichis whatever the case is. I remember
when I turned on the game,I looked away for what seemed like a
second. Then they were like twoscores up. I got faith in and
coach will, uh, you know, the whole coaching staff over there.
(30:29):
I think they'll they'll put it togetherand you know, this will probably be
the last or one of the fewlosses we see. All right, So
the big question do you think they'refor real? Like, is this really
the undisputed number one team at thispoint in the season right now? It's
hard not to say so, Rich, really, I mean, what more
do they have to do? Youknow, they beat the reigning champions.
(30:52):
You know, they remain undefeated.Like you said, there has been some
discrepancy about their toughness of opponent, but now that's out of the window.
Man, I mean, what moreof an opponent are you going to face?
Then? Like I said, theragn and Champs. Man, their
defense is playing at a high level. They had some injuries to keep players
(31:14):
on that defensive side, but youknow they still they still the train is
still moving, man, And it'shard to call any other team outside of
them the top contender at this point. So I'd, for one say that
a real deal. I think soit is. I think so too.
I messaged their coach congratulated him onbeing the sole remaining undefeated team, and
he said, you know, theyjust got to keep it up now.
(31:37):
And that's I think what it becomeswhen you're the last one, right is
that now it's like, okay, how long can you keep it going?
And there's going to be slip ups. There's gonna be some really tough challenges
or maybe ones that you don't evensee coming, like Tulsa against Jacksonville or
Quad City against the Massachusetts. It'syou've got to, you know, focus
on that next game. You can'toverlook anybody at this point in the season.
(31:59):
So I think they'll keep it goingeven if they lose. I don't
think it's like, oh we sawthis coming. Oh No, it's way
beyond that point right now. Asfar as where we are in the season,
so Vegas, Yeah, I thinkthey're the real deal. And then
our Week eight finale Sunday, wehad the Northern Arizona Wranglers taken on who
I had as third in power rankings, third in the league, the San
(32:22):
Diego strike Force, and look whowas right about this one. Northern Arizona
forty five, San Diego fifty four. Both are four and two, so
both are gonna be really tough, you know games as far as if they're
on your schedule, there's no questionabout that. Nate Davis eighteen to thirty
one, two hundred and twenty fouryards, five touchdowns, doing Nate Davis
(32:45):
things once again. But man,I love how everybody now is jumping on
the whole OHSD they've got like thebest broadcast in the whole league. Yeah.
I said that like a month ago, and nobody was just like,
oh yeah, I agree, Likegive me a break, man, Like
this is not news to me.I was saying that way before you guys
all caught on. You were probablytoo busy pointing out awful streams to notice
(33:05):
what a quality one truly looks like. And that's the Strike Force. But
yeah, people call me crazy forputting them at number three empower rank and
somebody had them, like somebody messagedme so that they had them at nine.
I'm like, you're what, Like, there's no way this team is
not going to make the postseason, like pending something awful. But this team
is well put together. They've justplayed really tough teams. So final score,
(33:29):
like I said, forty five fiftyfour, this one came down to
a play or two. But Idon't think it's anything revealing about one team
or the other. I don't thinkit's it's people saying, well, you
know, Northern Arizona's had a prettyeasy schedule leading up to this point,
so you know, now now we'regoing to start seeing them kind of slip
up. I don't think that either. You know, same thing with the
Nighthawks. Yeah, one thing thatI noticed about San Diego for sure is
(33:53):
they have a lot of depth onboth offense and defense. Man, and
that's that's something and that's as pivotalif you want to make that postseason run.
Yes, let me kind of lookat my notes here. Like we
said last time, well earlier lastweek, because of the situation that went
down at the end of the BayArea in San Diego game, a couple
(34:15):
of key players were missing. Ithink both Hoodie Rogers and Arthur Jackson are
suspended for the fought the next threeweeks, which is unfortunate, but fortunately
fortunately for Isaiah Cox and Jordan Crest, they stepped up big man. And
like I said, on defense,we're probably gonna have to have this guy
(34:37):
on the show at some point too, because he was pretty upset with me
picking against him too. But ByronCooper, Man, Byron Cooper, he's
a he's a dog. Man playedwith him at Duke City, played some
d N over there. He's oneof those guys you can pretty much play
it anywhere. So those guys areplaying at a high level just all around,
no matter who you put on thefield, and that's a that's a
(34:57):
great thing to see and I'm Iknow better now the diego so you know,
I mean going forward that I'm definitelyexcited to see how things continued and
go for them. Yeah, I'dlike to talk with Nate Davis since we're
building the list. He's another guywho just makes it look so easy,
so effortless when he plays the quarterbackposition like Sam does. So now that
(35:20):
we've recapped week number eight, Manfour teams were on a buy, but
it didn't give us any shortage ofaction, we are now going to speak
to a special guest, one thatwe owe a heartfelt apology to Malcolm and
I. They called us out onsocial media on ig so folks joining us
now a very special guest, anotherfirst timer that Malk was able to get
(35:42):
so clearly he is taking his cohost responsibilities very serious and he's doing quite
well. We'd like to welcome fromthe previously winless Jacksonville Sharks an offensive lineman,
mister Bryant Nolan Junior celebrating win NumeroUno. Welcome to the program.
Man, How you doing yes,so, I'm good man, thanks for
having me. Now, okay, the dreadlocks like this is not normally how
(36:07):
I look. This is my punishmentthat Malcolm has chosen for me because I
lost to pick him a week agoand so but he lost, so now
I get to pick his, whichwe'll talk about in a little bit.
But hey, so you guys,I got something as well as what he
owe me. Well, first andforemost, we definitely appreciate your time and
(36:30):
coming on here on the show.Malcolm, I think you and I both
owe it to him to apologize. We are sorry that we did not pick
the Sharks to win against the TulsaOilers. So for me to you,
I'm sorry, my man. We'llnever do it again. Hey, I
accept don't do that again. Malcolmapologized to the man you picked against it.
(36:55):
You know what it is, man'sdog be man bunch. Apologies.
You did your thing. You've beenknow your thing, bro, So I
mean, yeah, you know youknow it's all love. Brother. Hey,
I appreciate that my brother is allof this way too. Don't lose
your money though, man, don'tgo against the Sharks. Man. I
just gotta say, I wish itwould have been against Arizona A week prior,
(37:15):
man, Like, you guys werethat close, and I was like
hoping and praying for it. Iwas like, come on, let it,
let it be this, This wouldbe so poetic, this would be
such sweet justice. Man. Yeah, we got it together now, Man,
we had it, added a coupleof pieces to the plus when I
think we complete now. So there'sgonna be a big turn around for the
Sharks. Yeah, Malcolm, wehad Sam Castronova on last week, who
(37:37):
I think we need to call Samno stre damis because somehow he knew man
like. We asked him from hispoint of view, what stood out about
what was wrong with the Sharks, and he said, they just need to
score more than forty, which youguys did. And he said that he
thought for sure that you guys wereprobably gonna get your first win, which
I was looking back at the threeteams that were winless that won. That's
(37:59):
like the one game that I didn'treally have a reason to switch who I
thought was gonna win that because Tulsa, like Malcolm, and I know coach
Jones, he doesn't take any teamlightly. So you know, from you
to us, how did it feelgoing in there? What was the plan
and then obviously, how's it feelto come out with your first victory in
the IFL. Man, it feltreally good because we worked so hard.
(38:22):
Man. It's just like I camea little late, so this would have
been my first fourth game, Ibelieve. And like I said, every
day we worked hard, bro,and we knew we were gonna win.
We just came in with that mindsetall week and practice bro grinding bro.
Like it was a different type oftempo. Like we came in positive,
even though like Traveler was crazy andall that, we had to wait five
(38:44):
hour layover and uh wherever were layingat. But man, well we went
out there and handled our business forsure. First victory erode victory at that
in a crowded Tulsa Events center, which is not an easy get. So,
Malcolm, you're up now for youryour special guests here, mister Bryan
Nolan Junior for sure, Man,for sure, Like we already that introductions,
(39:07):
b you know you my dog everything. Man. I'm gonna ask you
this though, man, because obviouslywe played on the same team before,
you know, we learned a lotabout each other. I know you're a
Florida boy, man, what's it. I'm gonna ask you what is it
like playing in your hometown? Forone? And also how do you stay
focused? You know? With allthat, I'm sure it's like dozens of
(39:30):
fans looking to try to come tothe games every week or whatever the case
is, and uh, you know, it's just a bunch of distractions.
So how do you stay focused? And uh, you know, like I
said, what's what's it like playingin your state? Man? Well,
originally I'm from Illinois, but Iplayed college basketball in Jacksonville's twenty twenty and
then I swetched the football in twentytwenty two. So that's probably why everybody
(39:52):
think my coach, you Ben,thought I was from Jacksonville, and I
take you home. It's just takenhome with me, so I claim it.
You know what I'm saying, Shoutout to Duvall County. But man,
it's cool. Man, it's likeeverybody supporting me. They want me
to get to the next level, the highest level I could player, even
if I happened not to make it, they just they come support me in
the ifl you know what I'm saying. So so it's all love. Staying
(40:15):
focused part. You just gotta youknow, you gotta keep the main thing.
The main thing can't go off track, man, you know what I'm
saying. So that's pretty much.I hear that. I hear that for
sure. That's what's up. Mysecond question to you, you can't tout
on it already. I know you'rea hooper boy nature man. You came
to football a little late, butyou've been doing your thing ever since.
I know you. Bro. Ihad this conversation with a lot of yeah,
(40:37):
you know thing, man, ButI had this conversation with a lot
of dudes. For athletes, Ithink that basketball players translate better to football
and football to basketball. You knowwhat I'm saying. What's what's your take
on it being a yeah, abasketball player to football, so switching over.
I agree on that part. Ifyou want to know the answer to
(40:59):
what sport is harder football for show? Yeah, football football. When I
literally what I only been playing twoyears now, just the second year,
my first week of football practice incollege. I was about to quit and
it was so hot in Florida.I was about to go back to the
basketball for it, bro. Butit's definitely, uh, I think basketball
(41:24):
players can definitely cross over. Wasmore basketball players do, but cross over
and play football than football players doingthe other way because y'all be so strong,
can't shoot the ball deep, y'allbe oling, But yeah, football
way harder. Yeah, I hearthat, bro, I hear that.
I heard that, Rich What doyou think, man? Well, my
(41:45):
question for him is, I knowthat he talked about how their mindset was
after the layover and the delays goingin, like they knew they were going
to get that win. You know, I'm watching this game and I can
pick out a single moment where everythingchanged, right, like, because it
was you guys have the lead athalftime, and then they tied it up,
and now it's a track meet. You guys are trading blows, going
(42:06):
back and forth until you guys heldTulsa to a field goal, and that's
when everything changed. So I knowthat you talked about knowing that you guys
were gonna go in there and win. But was that the moment or was
there a different moment where you guysknew for certain, like this is our
game now, like we are goingto win this one. Honestly, being
up at half definitely helped, becauseI don't think we did that in a
(42:29):
game so far that I have playedin so being up at half definitely helped.
But you know, it's football. They gonna score, We're gonna score.
They gonna get stops, We're gonnaget stops, you know what I'm
saying. So we just gotta keepgoing, keep fighting. But it was
definitely that moment. I was like, yeah, once we we four,
right, now here's over. Weget up too? Is over? Win?
Wow? That's awesome. Man.Well, I know that after each
(42:52):
game, you know, Coach Gibson, he I could say, I could
see that he was frustrated and understandablyso because it just seemed like you guys
were just just missing it by thatmuch, you know, especially in Arizona,
you guys were so close. Thatfinal score really doesn't reflect your guys'
effort out there. So Sam,he thought he knew like what you guys
needed to do. But honestly, like from your perspective going into a road
(43:13):
game, you know, saying we'regonna get this win, Like, what
did you feel that the team neededto do to finally bring it all together
and come out with a win?Focused like how we did in practice?
Uh, some practices are flower thanothers, but this week everybody was holding
each other at Connable. That's abig thing. Hold each other accunable.
Uh, coaches were holding We wereholding coaches at Connable, they were holding
(43:35):
another accountable. Everybody pushed each otherto play their hardest like we was playing
practice like a game man, LikeI never been a part of nothing like
that, and it was you.And if we keep practicing like that,
we're gonna keep winning. It's justgonna be the domino effect. We're just
gonna keep winning, keep winning, keep winning. So that I think that's
the key right there. All right, man, well malcol what about you?
Any other questions for him? Yeah? Man, one last question,
(43:58):
Bro, I'm gonna keep it light. Uh. I want to say,
I want to say my my favoritepart about playing on the same team as
you, Bro, was you broughtthat same energy that you have like for
offensive line, of D line, the special teams. You know what I'm
saying. I remember you making tackleson kickoff getting turned Bro. That was
that was just like the best partabout your game play. Bro. I'm
(44:20):
gonna say because in Albany, youknow, you did play old line and
defense. So what was your ifyou could choose, would you choose offensive
defense? What's your what's your favorite? M hm? You know it's crazy.
So maybe if I would have wewould have more games before the incident.
I probably would have chose defense becauseI was just knocking in my group
with defense. But I love offline, bro, Like just the just
(44:44):
the feeling of me not letting thegrown man get past is like you know
what I'm saying. How in practice? Remember I ain't never see it,
bro, No, but I definitelychoose the on line right now, like
that's my spot and wherever I goafter this, hopefully back outside, that's
(45:06):
gonna be where it's at. Sure, that's all right, Bro, that's
all right. Man. Were onthe same page. We shooting for the
same thing. So I wish youmuch luck. Bro. You know I'm
gonna stay at with you mind.Just if I could help you, I
will. I mean, you know, it's all love, bro, Like
I said, Hey, you alreadyknow bro breter for light man, we
locked in he man, feeling goodon you go ahead girls, some I
(45:36):
might just do that, I dohave. I did have one more question
for you, and that was thatyou know, obviously, I think everybody
knew that eventually Jacks was gonna putit together and you guys were gonna get
a win, whether that was weekone, three, five, whatever.
But now that you guys have one, how much weight does it feel like
it's lifted off your shoulders? Andtwo? Like, what's your message to
(45:59):
the league now since we're, youknow, just approaching the midway point and
now we're going to really start toseparate the men from the boys in the
league. Right to answer your firstquestion, how much is an elephant?
It felt like when we won thatgame, well, I felt so relieved.
The ride back with cool, backwith cool practice the next day was
(46:20):
cool, Like it feel better whenyou win. You know what I'm saying.
Sure to let the ifl know andeverything knows, I'm gonna look at
the camera on this man, werecoming. I'm not playing. We're coming
for sure. Is definitely we're coming. Don't doubt us. All right,
So even though we both picked againstJacksonville, I still want to pick him
this week. You got any suggestionsfor what Malcolm's punishment should be for for
(46:45):
the next time the show? Thereyou go. Honestly, m hmmm,
I don't want to. Oh,because you wearing the dreads, you gotta
wear a ball cap. Yeah, the whole show. We'll figure something up
for sure. I got a fewideas in mind, but I wanted to
(47:06):
pick your bread a little bit becauseI know that he owes you as well
for the game. But man,Brian, thank you so much. Man.
It's been a lot of fun tohave you on here. I'm glad
you guys were able to finally getthe you know, the monkey off your
back as far as not getting towin yet. Welcome to the IFL.
Obviously it's probably long overdue, butyou guys are definitely starting to play the
(47:27):
way I think we all knew thatthe Sharks could, so may it be
the first of many for you.Man. We're really excited to see what
else you guys bring to the table, and I appreciate that. Man.
Like I said, we coming.Man, it's gonna be a whole new
Sharks team. You're gonna see wins, wins, wins, I promise,
all right. Well, he isBrian Nolan, junior offensive lineman of the
no longer winless Jacksonville Sharks. Infact, they're just getting started, folks.
(47:51):
So thank you so much again,Brian. Safe travels, man,
and good luck next week. Appreciateyou man, thanks for having me anytime.
And one more big thank you tothe man in Jack's do Volg County,
Brian Nolan Junior. Malk you've beengetting some good ones on here,
man. I love that we've putthis responsibility upon you and you have delivered
(48:12):
for two weeks in a row. Now, hey, ma Rich, what
would you do without me? Man? I would not look like this right
now without you. That's man,No, it's nothing but but a pleasure.
Man. I mean, like mebeing a player. You know,
I'm not the you know, diminishyour you're cool with these players and stuff
(48:35):
like that. But with me beinga bit closer to the game itself,
I know a lot of these guysand you know, it's it's it's a
lot of times it's just a phonecall. Man. I'm glad that they're
they're up forward and they're cool enoughto actually, you know, join us
on here because it's big for allof us. So yeah, we keep
the fun man, Like you know, it's just come on, have a
(48:57):
few laughs, talk about your team, talk about the season. Tell us
where we were wrong, which waspicking Tulsa against you, but no,
he was a good sport all havehim back anytime. And our first Jacks
Player, So that was good.So we got one from each of the
new IFL editions this year, sothat's good gets for us on the show.
But now it's time to make ourpredictions, our picks for week number
(49:22):
nine, and I get to gofirst this time because I won the pick
them last week. It was terrible. I will fully admit up front it
was terrible. I think two offour, two and four is what I
went, and it was those twothat I needed to get and I got
them ball but man, it wasugly. It was not good. Both
(49:44):
Milk and I are feeling that one. So we're going to try to recover
both of us from that and justchuck that up to like opposite day.
I think maybe maybe that was theannual opposite day in the league. Right.
So Week number nine begins on Friday, May tenth. We have the
Quad City Steam Wheelers going into SueFalls to take on the no longer winless
(50:04):
Storm. It's the last time wecan really say that about any of the
teams that got their first win.So the big question can Sue Falls keep
it going? And the other question, what's going on with Quad City because
they look like they had it together. But back and forth, back and
forth, win loss, win loss. This is going to be tough for
Quad City because now Sue Falls hastasted it and they're gonna be at home
(50:27):
again. They're going to be writingthat momentum. And oh man, as
much as it pains me to pickagainst Quad City, and we all know
what happened last time I did,I'm gonna have to go. Yeah,
it just hit me all at onceat what I was about to say.
So I'm gonna pause here, collectmyself. Because I invited Claude Davis to
(50:53):
be on the show in the nearfuture, I will pick the Sue Fall
Storm. Okay, there we go. I feel way better about it now.
That was tough to get through andI'm only I'm only going to say
it the one time that was funto watch, man. I agree with
(51:14):
you. I think it's it's hardto pick against a team that's had their
their taste of victory, and Imean they're hungry, man. They had
there. They're playing at a highlevel well as of last week for sure,
and they have, like I saidearlier, they have those those veterans,
those key veterans on defense, ClaulDavis being one of them. But
(51:36):
I don't think that Quad City isgonna drop to them again. You know,
I think that, uh, thispast weekend was one of Quad City's
blunders, if you will. Uh. And again not to take away from
sut falls, but I think they'rea much better team Quad City. That
is, they're much better team thanthey put on this past weekend. So
(51:59):
uh, I think I think they'llget it together and I think they'll come
out with a w. Okay,So starting with differenceive opinions already for this
pick, and this could be along weekend for me and Malk. So
he's taking steam Wheelers, not repeatingit. We know who I'm taking,
Okay, So more Friday night action. We have the San Diego Strike Force
(52:20):
number three in my power rankings, taking on number one and new number one
the loan remaining undefeated team, theVegas Nighthawks. Malk, who do you
like in this one? It's gonnabe a tough one. This is This
is definitely a tough one. Man. I almost want to when I had
my pick because you know, likeI said, my guy over San Diego,
(52:44):
he's gonna kill me for this one. But I mean, Vegas is
the loan the lone ranger right now. Man, the only defeated team.
Uh, you know they're doing it. They're undefeated for a reason. And
let me see, he's gotta thinkabout this. This is something I gotta
think about for sure, man, because I think San Diego has the potential
(53:08):
to give him their first IL.I fuck it, I'm gonna go with
San Diego. Bro. I thinkI think san Diego's get it. Man.
Jerome Johnson has has pretty much outmatcheda lot of these defenses, but
I think San Diego has the defenseto run with them. So, you
know, regardless of of not havingArthur Jackson or Hoodie Rodgers, I think
(53:28):
that their defense is gonna be thedifference making this game. So I'm taking
san Diego for it. This isgonna be one of those games that comes
down to like a single play, like what we saw so much of last
week. Like that's the point ofthe season that we're at, Like,
you, you have to almost playmistake free football to beat some of these
teams, and it's tough to do. But Vegas they've done it. And
(53:49):
I know that it seems sort ofcounterproductive for me to say that San Diego
would lose when I have them rankso high, but they've had a tough
stretch of schedule the last three weeks, I mean, and back to back
with Bay Area and then now theyget the lone remaining undefeated team. But
I'm still gonna go with the Nighthawks. But I will say this is a
win that both teams really need.I mean, San Diego needs it to
(54:12):
prove that they're better than people thinkthey are, even though I'm giving them,
you know, do credit as faras you guys are that good you
are, but others apparently don't.And Vegas needs it. They need to
prove that they can beat a teambay Area. I mean, was that
a fluke win? Was that aone and only? Or are they can
they put it together back to backfor you know, two top three teams.
(54:32):
So I will go with Vegas inthat one. So it's gonna be
a fun Friday night for me andmilk Man. That's shape it up.
That does it for the Friday actionthat brings us to Saturday. And oh
boy, this is gonna be onethat you and I have to really think
hard about. The Jacksonville Sharks gointo Frisco to take on the Fighters,
and Frisco has suffered one last allseason to an NA L team. How
(54:58):
about that? And now face anotheruh an AL team. I guess if
you want to call him that Souh we had a member of Jacks on
the show. Is that gonna sway? Who we picking this one? I
want to believe him. I thinkI'm actually gonna pick Jacksonville to win on
the road again against Frisco. That'scrazy, crazy, indeed, just just
(55:24):
crazy enough for me to agree withyou. I mean, I know Brian,
I know he's not the type ofgata to to just you know,
say what he feels like he needsto say to to you know, blow
smoke up his team's ask some advocasis, but he's a he's a he's
(55:46):
a realist and I think if he'sseeing something that he feels like they can
capitalize, all I think it's Ithink it's worth it's worth trusting. So,
you know, Frisco is a greatteam, and they've proved that they're
a postseason team as well. ButI'm on the bandwagon now for jackson I
(56:07):
think this is going to be thebeginning of a string of wins that can
possibly put them in a good positiongoing forward in to the postseason sipping that
Duval drink right there are we aredrinking that tea, all right, So
we both like Jacksonville. I lovehow last week I think was the first
time all season we both picked Tulsaand yeah, but it's all right,
(56:30):
it's different. It's different. We'renot gonna talk about that, which brings
us to the next Saturday matchup,Tulsa Oilers at the Green Bay Lizard.
This is a win that both teamsneed. I mean, let's just say
say what needs to be said. Both teams need this win Tulsa's three and
three blizzard or four and two.A loss for either isn't going to be
(56:51):
devastating, but it is a tightrace right now, and this is the
time of the season where you needto get these wins like where you can't
against teams that are kind of middleof the pack. Jones does not like
to lose back to back. Butmiler Man just had a bad day and
shoe falls there at home. Youknow how much Jones loves being on the
(57:14):
road. So Malc, who youtaking in this? I'm taking Toasa all
the way. Like you said,I think what you said about coach Jones
not liking to lose. Is that'sjust what encapsulates the entire game. Really
brilliant strategist. I think he's gettinghis his middle linebacker back to after the
(57:36):
suspension after the targeting call the weekbefore last. So he's certainly gonna make
a big difference. You know,he's a force to be reckoned with on
that defensive side. But uh,I think I think Toast is gonna go
ahead and redeem themselves after that.Uh that that all this past weekend,
and we're gonna see the turnaround. So yeah, Tosa, Sure, Yeah,
(58:00):
I'm gonna pick Tulsa. I youknow, my experience with Jones and
the tremendous amount of respect I havefor him as well as coach Roberson though,
like I can't say that I don'trespect him just as much. But
Jones is a different beast, andyou know, to lose to Jack's like
they did at home, he's probablypulling all nighters watching film on Green Bay
(58:22):
like all week, Like that's that'swhat he's doing. Like he's not sleeping,
and he's gonna go on the roadand they're gonna they're gonna go in
there and he's gonna be pissed off. But I'm also gonna go with Tulsa
because I don't know why green Baysocial media can't give us any love,
Like I'm so confused, like thisis a rivalry at this point. I
don't understand they follow the show onall the channels. But yeah, I've
(58:45):
mentioned them so many times I getno love from Green Bay's social media team,
So I'm gonna pick Tula just becauseof that. But no, seriously,
I do think that back to backlosses for Jones is just not something
that he's gonna deal with very well. So we both like the Oilers.
(59:06):
Oddly enough, back to back weeks. Something in the air here, I
guess, more Saturday action. TheMassachusetts Pirates off there by week go into
Iowa to take on Barnstormers, whohave now tasted victory. But it's not
Star Wars Night anymore for the barnStormers. So a well rested Pirates team
but jacked up and ready to goBarnstormers team could be interesting. I'm still
(59:30):
going to go with mass but man, their schedule's got to get tougher.
This team, I just don't knowhow much I believe they are as good
as they are right now. Butyou know, you play who's on your
schedule, and they're going to playIowa, and I think they'll get the
win. Yeah, yeah, I'mright there with what you wish. I
think is going to take it hometo I think that or the Star Wars
(59:53):
Magic is over Iowa. All right, we both like mass That brings us
to San Antonio. The Gunslingers takingon Duke City, the only remaining winless
team in the league right now. They're fresh off of a bye. But
I mean, what does that reallymean for Duke City? Malcolm, I'll
let you go first. You havehistory with both these teams, so it's
(01:00:13):
who do you like more. It'shard to say who I like well,
man, but I desperately want tobreak out my Duke City apparel. Reason
to man, I don't think I'mgoing to have a reason to have this
week, man. I mean SanAntonio, they've been putting together. They
putting together as we saw last weekcashing over. He said they found a
(01:00:38):
recipe for the success and they're gonnaput on a show against Duke City.
Man. Yeah, I think ifthey didn't have back to back wins against
tough opponents, I would say thisone could really go either way. But
with that, it says to methat san Antonio has really figured it out.
Sam was just way too confident onthe show, and I think that
(01:01:00):
speaks volumes for that team. Evenin a loss to Frisco, it could
have gone either way. So I'mgonna pick san Antonio as well. I
think they're they're gonna get back inthe win column and that's kind of kind
of set the tone for the restof their season, and then we'll see
what happens with Duke City. Sothat brings us to the next Saturday game.
It's another Super Saturday no Sunday action, but the next one is another
(01:01:22):
juggernaut of a matchup. The BayArea Panthers, previously unbeaten and number one,
still the reigning defending champs, butthey will go into Northern Arizona to
take on the Wranglers, who justsuffered their first loss in five games,
the first loss since Week one ofthe season. So this is a true
test for both teams as well,uh Northern Arizona. You know, both
(01:01:45):
teams reeling from a loss. Sowho who bounces back better? I really
don't know who because we haven't seenBay Area lose yet we saw NAZ rattle
Loft four after they lost, youknow, the first game of the season.
But what is Bay Area? DoI think they'll probably get it put
together? I say, you know, no disrespect to NAS, but I
(01:02:07):
do think they Area is probably gonnabring this one home, put it together.
Okay, Okay, I like that. So, I mean I would
say the same thing. But asalways, you know, we gotta have
we got to have something to offsetthe tack, the potential tack. So
I mean NAS, there, they'replaying at a high level. Like you
said, I know from playing onon winning teams myself. You know,
(01:02:31):
going home after ill that you feellike genuinely could have went your way.
It hurts, man, It hurtsa lot for the for the team itself,
the coaching staff, for the fans. So I mean, I know
they're they're chewing on that right now, and they know that they have to
get back in that win call themin order to you know, get back
to where they want to be.So I think NAS will you know,
(01:02:53):
take this one home, all right, So we're different. There gonna be
a good game regardless, like thisone will probably come down to a single
possession drive series or play so that'sexciting and that brings us to our Week
nine finale. These two opponents veryfamiliar with each other. It's probably going
to be an easy pick for me, but it's just because it's the Arizona
(01:03:16):
Rattlers taking on the Tucson Sugar Skulls. I mean, look, I know
that Snead is back. It lookedto be the difference maker. However,
you know, both teams are comingoff a bye. But if Mitchell is
back in the lineup, which Ibelieve according to my source he is,
then I really think that Tucson couldget this one because Snead being back is
(01:03:39):
great. But this was, inmy opinion, a team that was like,
well, if we just had ourstarting quarterback, it'd be completely different.
Like there were issues special teams, defense, offense, and so now,
yes, you have your leader, your starting quarterback back in the lineup
after all these weeks away. ButI mean, Billy and Kevin guy,
this is going to be a veryinteresting rivalry depending how long it lasts.
(01:04:03):
And uh, I know there's nolove lost there when it comes to them
on the field. I'm gonna gowith Tucson just because I I really want
Tucson to win this one. Rich, we all know why you're really going
with Tisa. You know, wewant to speak on it, but I
think myself as was a fan,so exactly why you want to rather than
(01:04:27):
lose. But I do agree withyou on that for sure. But I
look at Tucson as much like yousaid they they they kind of uh,
we're just waiting on you know, their their their star to come back.
You know, I'm not sure howmuch of an anime fan you are,
like a star, but I lookat it like, you know, Goku
(01:04:48):
Dragon ball Z, like they're alwayslike just like extreme Peril and they're just
and they end up just waiting onGoku to come back, and say the
day, I feel like Malik Mitchellwas there, go He'll bring that life
and bigger back to a team thatneeds it desperately. So there's our Week
nine picks. We both like Tucson, So now it's time to pick Malcolm's
(01:05:14):
punishment. Man, I'm so happyto break your three peets. So happy
about that. There was a PeytonManning commercial where he was doing stuff in
his everyday life and he was cheeringon like the meat slicer guy at the
deli or he was high five inthe cashier at the grocery store, and
I was like, what if Ihad Malcolm go to his gym and he
just had to spend the day justlike cheering everybody on, just like they
(01:05:36):
do like three reps. And he'sjust like, yeah, good reps.
Man. Wait and you got somebodyfollowing you, you know, with your
phone and they're recording this. Butwhat is what is that like in the
gym world. So luckily, luckilyI'm a regular at my gym. You
know, I kind of go currentlyoff often enough for the people to know
(01:05:57):
me. I don't think I'll haveany trouble like getting any type of you
know, fights or nothing like that. It'll be embarrassing for sure, but
I mean that's that's what we're doing, you know. I mean I've been
embarrassed by you several times, soI mean I don't think it'll I don't
think it'll be a problem. Brother. I just want you to go in
there and just be the hype manof the day, just for like,
(01:06:21):
you know, an hour in yourgym and it's like it's everything right.
It's somebody that comes in and theywipe down machine. You're like, yeah,
way to wipe that thing down.Man. That's what I'm talking about.
Respect, Like, I just needyou to be over the top and
just encouraging and just the hype man, the cheerleader of your gym, just
(01:06:42):
for like an hour, and itcan't be like a dead time, like
come on, like there needs tobe like four people in there doing stuff.
But I just need somebody to recordyou being this pipe man and then
post it on social because I thinkit would be absolute gold to see you
go in there and just like they'redrinking out of the funtain be like,
yeah, you need to hydrate.Man. All right, Drake, that's
what I'm talking about. I canmake it happen. Man. I can
(01:07:05):
make happen for sure. That'll behilarious. Man, I can picture Dawn.
But anyway, hey, hey,so I got you brother. I'll
make it happen. Man, it'sgonna be funny. But yeah, no,
I'll have that for you, brother. I'll make like a thirty second
(01:07:26):
compilation video. Will be just hypingeverybody up. It'll be it'll be fun.
I got you double knot on theshoelaces. That is a bald move.
I like that you secure your shoesto your feet. Man, that's
awesome. Let's go, let's let'sget a second. This is gonna be
fun, It's gonna be good.I'm excited for this one, all right,
folks. Well, we have laughedas much as we can here on
(01:07:48):

as well be four twenty. I'mdone with the wig and the dreadlocks.
