(00:01):
This is the fixer Punk podcast, the podcast that is tempted to excuse any
and all overspending by saying, atleast I didn't spend two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars for a ride on anunapproved I can't believe it's not a submarine.
But won't do that because this isthe political and social issues podcast that

(00:25):
tries to make your life better.I'm Grace and Peltier. So today is
a Fixing the Fixer Punk episode. This is where I share from my personal
life and my own journey to tryto become a better person, some insights
that may help us to get alens into ways to improve ourselves as well

(00:45):
as improve society so we can performbetter as individuals. This is really where
the bridging the divide between personal andsocial change stuff comes into play and also
gives me a chance to rant.So on the last episode, I did
mention the since Sue was just beforethe debt ceiling deal came through. I

(01:08):
did mention my Superkick Party before theApocalypse, which was going to be going
out to aw Dynamite Pro Wrestling downin San Diego. That did not happen
unfortunately, and that was because Igot kind of sick. I actually I

(01:30):
woke up that day with a goodamount of ear pain. I have to
put any earplugs, and you shouldalways whenever you go to a concert,
loud event, sporting event, wrestlingshow, anything like that, you should
wear earplugs. That is absolutely essentialto protect your hearing and to protect your
health at these kinds of events. But obviously I had earache. You can't

(01:53):
put or you're not really supposed toput an ear plug in if your ears
are hurting. I was feeling alittle bit light headed, feeling a little
bit sick that day, UM,so I could not make it. UM.
There were some good things UM onthat night's show. Probably the match
that I would have missed the mostwould have been actually a Ring of Honor

(02:15):
match with UM Dark Order versus theRighteous UM. But luckily I did buy
the ticket refund insurance UM on myticket, and they refunded my money.
I knew that what from their website. UM this obviously when you buy an

(02:35):
aw ticket, it's through ticket Masterand it's they they worked with an insurance
company called Alions, and what theyrequire is a doctor's note for some sort
of a medical situation. So um, I did do a I did a
virtual visit with Urgent Care, andI got the note um Urgent Care basically

(02:57):
said, it's it's it's a coldor an olergy exacerbation, and you should
and you'll get better in a fewdays. It took it actually took more
like a week or so for itto fully go away because it was with
some sinus congestion some of the othertypes of like typical cold symptoms, thankfully
not COVID. But I missed outon that night, So I just hope

(03:25):
that at some point they come backto La soon and I can have another
fun night. But overall, justicehas been a continuing storyline on these Fixing
the Fixer Punk episodes. Random stuffkeeps getting in the way. Basically,

(03:45):
my life has been a case study, and stuff happens and it causes things
to take forever, Like even justnow, that's more macro big event that
I've been waiting on for months andgo because I was sick. Something really
random happened, but on a microscale, like I just pulled. I

(04:09):
was supposed to be recording this podcastprobably at least an hour ago, but
then something else happened. Things thatI don't even really remember because of my
ADHD that delay me. I kindof stubbed my toe with a slightly sharp
cable. Thankfully, nothing really happenedto my toe, but I thought,
let me just watch it off anyway, So that took another ten minutes.

(04:29):
So it is the constant cycle ofstuff happens that that keeps happening to me
and making things take longer than theyshould like, even on like a micro
scale. What I'm supposed to dofor my ADHD recording to a video that
I watched is to like time myselfwhen I'm doing things. But that task
of timing myself, like I havea whiteboard where I put up all the

(04:51):
tasks I need to do that Iknow that I'm going to forget that one
task of timing myself is just somethingthat I have not gotten around too.
I've had it up there for likethree months. I need to like time
myself and time how long it takesfor me to do everyday activities, and
I just have not done that.I don't quite know why, but it's
just because I don't think to evendo the things, So how else how

(05:15):
would I think to do the thingwhile timing myself doing it in fact,
like getting a sort like quiet, like uninterrupted time even to record these podcasts.
Again still a big issue. Andwhen, like any of my like
default habits that I have get interrupted, it's hard to put them back.

(05:36):
And they are also like very veryrandom minor things that just acquiring those particular
habits seems to have a sticking pointto them. Like for some reason,
I've kind of lost the habit ofputting in nasal spray first thing in the
morning. It might be because Ihave to now do this, like I've

(05:58):
added like ten minutes of this deepbreathing residence technique that the psychologist is doing
on me because I'm getting some biofeedbackdone and he has me with this specific
breathing app called I breathe with aspecific frequency that he set up for me
of breathing. And then because Ihave that, then I forget to do

(06:20):
the nasal spray thing. After that, I just launched straight into the rest
of my day. And then totry to bring myself back to do it,
I just don't bring myself back todoing that. And then for some
reason I can get through, Likeyesterday he got through writing an article,
wrote a really good article actually onOrange Cassidy of aw Aw International Champion,

(06:46):
my first article and probably a fewmonths on Pro Wrestling musings dot com talking
a lot about overwork and the mythof laziness and showing a different path to
success that doesn't require or excessive hustleculture, over working yourself or even conforming
to like typical workplace norms. Reallygood article if you're interested in finding alternative

(07:10):
ways to success, or interested insocial change when it comes to the workplace
and work environments, or if you'reinterested in pro wrestling up at Pro Wrestling
usings dot com right now. Butand I got through a pretty intense workout
as well, even added on likemy first little bit of running, which

(07:31):
I was supposed to do like amile I only got. I only got
like a third of a mile in. But I couldn't get myself around two
or or it takes I do thesedifficult things, but then the little thing
of putting on the acne cream atnight, for some reason, trips me
up. I think it's because myself control and my discipline goes a lot
down at night, But sometimes it'sjust random little things that I can't get

(07:54):
to. I also have I also, for some reason, struggle with the
habit of like brushing my teeth inthe middle of the day instead of like
like at night. I'm fine,I figured that out. It still takes
a little bit of time, stilltakes a little bit of pushing myself kind
of adopted a bad habit of likerewarding myself with food at night after I

(08:15):
brush my teeth so that I canget myself through it. But that to
me, like those little things likebrushing teeth and putting on cream at night
are like harder than like an hourand a half workout. I don't know
why. So the thing is that, But then if you interrupt those habits
in any way, then it's veryvery hard to put them back into place.

(08:37):
And one thing that I looked intoto try to help me with that
is there's this There are all theseapps like my Instagram, my feed,
all of my personalized ads are alllike productivity apps, programs stuff like that,
and there are so many of them. There are like tens, if
not hundreds of them. And Ibought one of these like productivity mind enhancing

(08:58):
performance apps called ulti Self, andthey had this program that's supposed to come
with it that basically just teaches youall kinds of like about half to seventy
five of it as things I alreadyknow. But the challenge is really the
implementation. Like I opened up myULTI self and tells me I'm supposed to
and I'm getting better about this. It's helping me. It's making just a

(09:18):
very small change in my habits.I'm supposed to be tracking like that every
day in the morning, I'm exposingmyself to the sun. I'm doing those
breathing exercises, I'm doing the Pomadorotechnique thing, which is supposed to be
so you sit down. You havededicated amount of time just doing one task,
getting myself outside, and I'm supposedto track those in this app,

(09:41):
and I just haven't really gotten likeI paid money for it. And this
is the sad thing about like ADHD, is that you get an app or
something like that to try to trackand help yourself improve your improve your mental
performance or whatever, and you willjust let it sit there for a very
very long time. You just don'tdo it. And oftentimes it's a matter

(10:03):
or not of like not knowing whatto do, but of doing it.
And it's hard to like remember thatwhen you see, oh yeah, this
thing that's saying that they're going tofix my life completely if I just follow
these five simple steps. The thingis that you probably already knew what those
five simple steps were before you boughtthat app or that course. You just
can't seem to bring yourself to dothose quote unquote five simple steps, and

(10:26):
that can be a bit of adrain financially. I let myself slip and
I'm like, oh my god,I just spent fifty bucks. I think
it was like forty seven plus seventeendollars. That's even more, that's like
sixty four dollars on this course. And I'm like, Okay, maybe I'll
do this, Maybe this will helpme. And it's helping me a little
at least I'm acquiring that one habitof getting myself out into the sun in

(10:50):
the morning. I have to tryand get myself through the other habits too,
and spending money. And then thething is that is that really what
you have to do is you haveto find and this stuff, though is
more expensive, is you have tofind stuff that gives you some sort of
accountability, like that somebody's calling you, somebody's talking to you, checking in

(11:13):
with you on a daily regular basis, like in the fitness space. I
know that a lot of these trainersthat do like online coaching programs will do
daily accountability, like daily check ins, like over text or like in an
email or something online. I don'tknow why that doesn't exist for like,

(11:33):
excuse me, mental health improvement stufflike you see your therapist once a week
if you're lucky, and they'd giveyou a list of five, seven,
ten things that you got to dothat week, and then you get back
to the next session. You're noteven you're maybe given a little bit of
accountability at the next session, butyou're not really given much accountability, and

(11:54):
nobody's checking in with you on adaily basis. I'm maybe giving away a
multimillion dollar business idea here, Butwhy don't we have therapists that give you
like a like daily accountability, likeat least like an app where like you
track all the stuff that your therapistdoes, it gives you or tells you
to do. You get all theinformation. Even that breathing app thing doesn't

(12:16):
really report back to my therapist, doesn't generate any reports or anything like that,
not that I'm aware of. Atleast, But like, of all
the things you're supposed to do toimprove your life, and then if you
don't do them, then they callyou or they text you, or they
ping you in some way and say, hey, Grayson, why haven't you
been doing your journaling or your meditationor your or your your your sleep correcting

(12:41):
protocol. Why have you not beendoing that? And they check in with
you in the middle of the weekbetween sessions. That could be an interesting
premium service. But of course whenyou're when you're doing things to improve yourself,
you have to spend money to makemoney. In many cases, um,

(13:03):
you're you're kind of wasting money.And I thought about this, I'm
like, okay, I just madeoff of a bank bonus, like a
hundred bucks and I spent sixty sevensixty four percent of that on this productivity
app. It is so easy tolet money slip out of your hands.
It is incredibly amazingly easy. AndI do use spending tracking. I do

(13:26):
use the Rocket Money app for spendingtracking. The one thing that I hate
about that app, though, isthat it doesn't track the Apple card correctly,
so I might I'm gonna probably curtailmy use of the Apple card just
so I can keep my budgets integrated. Um, but you realize at some
point that you can make more moneyfrom manipulating money than in some cases from

(13:50):
like working as well. So thatthat money that that slipped out of my
pocket for that online course or whatever. It costs the company nothing to make
that, but they made a bunchof money that honestly through work outside of
the kind of work that I doas a political and advocacy communications consultant,

(14:11):
which I can get paid rather generouslyfor that work, even though I try
to work with my client's financial constraintsor whatever, especially in the work that
I do. But oftentimes there aretimes where I can make a decent amount
of money doing that and helping peopleto advocate for their cause. But like

(14:31):
in the more general work, especiallywith like the offseason, the offseason lag
in terms of how much business Iget. It's the kind of work that
you do to fill the gaps, like like online work or whatever like Amazon,
mechanical Turk, like click worker apps, stuff like that. All those

(14:54):
little things that you can do typesof like flexible work, those things barely
pay you. I could sit intoan eight hour workday and maybe make twenty
thirty dollars and twenty three dollars candisappear so freaking quickly doing so many things,
And I could also just make thatmoney appear by investing or saving that

(15:16):
money, Like you can make afew hundred dollars off a bank bonus you
could make if you have ten thousanddollars in the bank, you get like
one hundred dollars extra any year forgetting an extra one percent of interest.
But then I think about the wealthierpeople that have like hundreds or hundreds of
thousands or millions just sitting in bankaccounts, and they can get even higher

(15:37):
yield investments and all of that stufffor literally doing nothing. You're making a
lot more than you could ever makewith work. People think that hard work
creates money, creates wealth. Thatreally isn't true. It's about how you
manipulate money to work in your favormore than anything. As you can make

(16:00):
a lot more just from manipulating andmoney into different places if you have it,
then you could ever do is yourindividual self doing labor. And that's
just one of the weird inequalities ofcapitalism and interest. Yeah, with the
higher interest rates, Yeah, Ican make a little bit more money on
my savings, but that really doesn'tbalance out for like the typical working class

(16:25):
person, even if you have saveda good amount of money, because what's
next one hundred, one hundred hundreddollars ten dollars thousand dollars to you compared
to millions and gains that other peopleare getting gains from the stock market from
being able to buy low and thensell high years later, and in hard

(16:45):
economic times, you're gonna have topull out that money. So it's not
gonna be making you money any longer, or at least less of it's gonna
make you money. Still can beobviously worth it, and there are some
ways to make money worth it alittle bit more. Obviously I do a

(17:10):
lot. I do look for likebank bonuses and all that, and you
can you can always scour for those. There are a few forms on like
on Reddit on bank rate, butyou just have to kind of like pay
attention to like bank advertising you seein the mail, and then a few

(17:30):
other ways to get like little moneythat's like little amounts of mind that's like
no work is just monitoring for likeclass action lawsuit settlements. There's a website
called like top class Actions dot Comthat has some of those um and and
then of course making sure you're likeusing if you have the discipline to use
credit cards, which again this isa very careful thing. I think I'm
gonna have to have a whole episodeon explaining like methodologies for credit cards.

(17:55):
But if you have the credit forit, and you can and you have
the discipline to use your credit cardsand responsible way, number one thing is
just to pay it off every week. I wish I could automate that process,
but you have to basically make surethat you're taking it out of your
out of whatever money you're making,so that doesn't look like you have a
bunch of money in the bank thatyou don't have. And then at the

(18:15):
end of the month you're with agiant credit card bill. That's the last
thing you want. You be payingit off weekly. Sometimes you can do
it daily. But if you havethat cash back, that's also a way
to basically put free money back inyour pocket. And if you have different
cards, you can use different onesthat have different amounts of cash back per
category, Like for example, theApple card will give you two percent if

(18:37):
you're if you go somewhere and youuse Apple Pay, but it's only one
percent if you don't, and thenyou have another card that maybe you'll give
you a higher percentage of a certainretailer that you shot more at. But
the key to that, to makingthat actually last and making that impactful in
your life, is to set asidethat money. Don't keep that money is
spending money, don't necessarily try toput it if you can help it,

(19:00):
don't put it back on the balanceof the credit card. Always make sure
that that money is somehow transferred outto a separate account, a separate high
yield savings account in particular, andthen keep that away from you so it's
actually money saved. So with you'regetting money from a class action settlement,
you're getting money from from bonuses, you're getting money from credit cards, your

(19:21):
cash back. Make sure you're unloadingthat into a savings account if you if
it only lets you transfer the moneyinto your checking account, then transfer it
to your checking and immediately set upa transfer to the savings and preferably at
a separate bank where it's not immediatelyin view of you. If you have
to put it against the balance, then make sure you transfer that same amount

(19:42):
from your checking into the savings accountas well, because the last thing you
want to do is have that moneybe insight for you to like spend it,
so at least the extra money buildsup somewhere somewhere that's separate from like
your normal stream of spending. Butthen with bank bonuses, the one thing

(20:07):
that I've noticed is that there area lot fewer bank bonuses that you can
even participate, you can participate inif you're a small business owner of any
sort, because they like in termsof checking account bonuses in particular, there
are ones for savings that don't putfor checking account bonuses, which seems like
the majority of them now the savingsaccount bonuses. For some reasons you don't
dried up is that they just basicallydiscriminate against small business owners. And these

(20:33):
in these bank bonuses, because theyonly take some of them, will have
rules about like direct deposits. Likeone of the direct deposit rules I see
most often is it must be adirect deposit from a from an employer or
from government benefits. I think thereason why they put government effits on there
is because of social security and thenof course social security disability. They don't

(20:55):
want to be sued for some sortof disability discrimination. But you have to
have a direct deposit going into thatchecking account, and they won't take like
it like in many cases, theywon't take like an ac from a payment
vendor, like they'll specifically say nostripe or PayPal or credit card, merchant

(21:17):
deposits of any sort or peer topeer transfers. It has to be like
a paycheck. And and that's tome. It's it's to me. It
feels it definitely. It definitely makesme feel like a second classes And sometimes
I can kind of get why thebanks do that, because they see employment

(21:37):
as being like that you're financially stable. But the ironic thing is that for
small especially for smaller community banks, small business owners actually are the ones that
because our income is so irregular, that we're the ones that are holding a
significant balance in their institutions and makingthem money. And there's a good chance
that we'd have to go back fora loan if Thankfully, I'm not in

(22:00):
a business that's capital intensive, Butsome people do have businesses they're capital intensive,
and they'll be the ones going backfor a loan and love a good
banking relationship, and they don't buildthat with They don't build that by getting
them in the door with the bonusbecause you have to have a deposit from
a conventional job. So kind ofa kind of a blow on the bank's

(22:22):
part. But I'm not going toleave it to banks to understand like economic
differences between people, because that's justnot what they do. We know that
one other one simple class action thatyou're probably gonna be able to get a
little bit of money out of,there's a good chance you can, is
the Facebook one. There's one forFacebook data privacy. And now on that

(22:45):
form it does have like a likea as like a Zell PayPal and direct
deposit option. They're not issuing checksfor the for these class actions anymore for
some reason, probably cost So youchoose to direct deposit into like a separate
savings account where all you're like extramoney goes to that that you've gotten from
settlements or whatever. The one thingthat I do tend to get wrong with

(23:07):
this kind of stuff is that becauseI'm shifting money around so often to get
a higher interest rate than I forgetwhich money is like my extra money.
But at least as long as it'snot like my main checking account, ideally,
we know what you want to dois keep all the extra money that's
just free money in a separate accountthat you don't see. But for me,
as long as it's getting the highestinterest rate possible and it's not in
like my main spending, that I'mnot going to go and immediately spend it,

(23:29):
and that's a good thing. Andthen, honestly, one of the
things that I kind of mentioned wasa bit of a financial drain is the
fact that I've been trying to makemy trying to eat healthier for a while
and I have, thankfully, I'veI'm not sure if I said this on

(23:52):
the last episode, but I didsay that I have had difficulty with my
with my fitness situation, specifically inrelation to diet. I did get complimented
by a family friend at a partythat I looked really strong and even like

(24:14):
it's just kind of suggested that Ibecome a personal trainer, which is a
little bit of a crazy suggestion, but I'll definitely take the compliment. So
my fitness has gotten better. ButI definitely went up and wait. I've
been supposed to be cutting weight forsummer, but I went I did go
up and wait. My lowest islike one fifty seven at like in October

(24:36):
of last year's camp, when Ifinished up my cutting phase that was so
delayed from last summer. But thenI went all the way up to like
like the beginning of this year asof like one sixty, and then I
went all the way up to likeone sixty four as of like a week
or two ago. But now I'mback down to one sixty again. Thankfully.

(24:57):
For the past five this is likethe longest streak of me actually counting
calories properly. I think it's probablybecause I up my ADHD medication, but
I have gotten a good It's fivesix days of tracking calories. It's I'm
pretty sure. There's one day thatI'm almost confident it is completely in exact,

(25:19):
which was Father's Day. We hada big party. Whenever you have
like family parties and like and likefood that's been cooked by somebody else,
it's hard to do like the macrotracking on it. In fact, with
the whole my Fitness palapp thing,I have become very very drawn and attracted
to any sort of food that hasbar codes on it. So it's like

(25:41):
because I paid the eighty bucks orwhatever, it was sixty to eighty bucks
on that. Again, money flowsout way way quicker then it comes in.
I would probably have to work onto pay for that. One of
my Fitness palper is probably have towork on Amazon Mechanical Turk. And this

(26:02):
is why I have like zero motivationto do work anymore, because it pays
so little. I'd probably have towork on Amazon Mechanical Turk a good two
weeks or something like that to payfor that one purchase. But yeah,
I'm drawn to food with bar codesnow because I can add it in easily.
I can just point scan, Idon't have to type anything in,

(26:23):
I don't have to gas as towhat something is called. So if I
can eat all food with bar codes, it's transparently like toward me, then
that makes things easier. But ina way, there's a bit of a
perverse incentive to that because you can'thave as much excuse me, fresh food,

(26:44):
and that can be that can bea little bit of a problem.
That's what some of the clean eatingpeople will save it. Screw it.
I'm not going to be cooking likelarge amounts of like fresh food anyway.
I have discovered a couple of newvery helpful things because I tend to make
a like sandwiches and stuff like that. The mission car balanced tortillas, like

(27:07):
if I want to make a rapor some sort of like a burrito or
whatever or something along those lines.Like oftentimes, like I've gotten, I've
been able to, like at leastsometimes make myself a breakfast burrito or I'll
just make I'll just make like asandwich rap with that, and those are

(27:27):
pretty good macros. When it comesto tortillas, I think there're only like
seventy calories each, which is reallygood. And then in terms of bread,
I found the Nature's Harvest Healthy Habitsforty calorie bread. Oftentimes you'll find
yourself and eating two slices, butstill two slices only eighty calories. It's

(27:48):
been a good way to like makesandwiches. And then the new thing that
I found, and I know lasttime on the last episode, I'd promise
you do some like a Costco groceryhall um for fitness and fat loss,
but I just never got around todoing it. I have the clips.
I still have I have the clipsfrom from three four weeks ago on my

(28:11):
phone. I just haven't been ableto sit down and do the editing.
I haven't been able to bring myselfto do that, another thing that I
have to work on. Um,but I will. I will actually take
the like one of these like justbear of like kind of like it's kind
of like a fried chicken patty,um, and it's microwavable heat that up.

(28:37):
Use the use a zero sugar barbecuesauce a um, the sweet Baby
Raise, just zero sugar barbecue sauce, and the healthy Habits bread and maybe
a slice of cheese, and thatwill be like a really good sandwich.
I did that last night. It'spretty good. Um. So I can
use these lower calorie things and stillsomething it's very very flavorful or and that

(29:03):
kind of taste, and then stuffthat tastes like junk food. Because again,
my strategy is not to like eatcleanly, like You're never gonna find
me like eating kale and chia seeds. You're not gonna find me with like
meal prepped containers. You're gonna findme doing what I've at this point termed
lazy idiot meal preps, where Iwill get a those frozen lean cuisine meals

(29:30):
or whatever brand of diet meal iskind of on special at the grocery store.
I'll get those, and then sometimesI'll add on top of it,
like I'll add extra like frozen chickenthat's easy to eat up. Sometimes I'll
I'll add various ingredients to it,so that's a little bit more calories,
because I can take a little bitmore calories than like the absolute bare minimum.

(29:53):
And sometimes I do need extra proteinbecause I do work out a lot,
and and and just basically slap togetherall things that are like frozen are
easy to prepare. And I've thoughtabout, Okay, maybe I should start
like chronicling some of my idiot mealpreps and put those. Um, but
those is like TikTok videos. Idon't know if anybody be interested in them,

(30:17):
because obviously it's all rudimentary stuff.Like one thing that I kind of
learned to do often is also liketaking um, instant ote meal protein powder
and um the PB the PB fitthe powdered peanut butter, because I like
peanut butter a lot. But thething is that the macros screw me up,
like because I go through so muchpeanut butter that was probably contributing to

(30:41):
a lot of my fat game fora while. Um, but that stuff's
pretty good, the powdered peanut butter, but you have to mix it into
something like powder peanut butter onto andlike a sandwich, it's like terrible.
Um. But uh, and I'llstill everyone's inn all cheat and get like
the regular peanut butter to do onsandwiches, even though I know that's not

(31:02):
good for me and I should andI'm not doing that right now because I'm
in this cutting phase, desperately tryingto get to like to a level where
I am where I'm in good ingood beach shape. But if I mix
that powder into oatmeal, then itactually works. And then especially if I

(31:22):
add in protein powder to it,I usually get like obviously I'll get whatever.
I'll get whatever, like protein powderson special at Costco to try to
save money. And then I've,of course, I've told you all about
the virtues of the fiber one seventycalorie brownies and seventy calorie little cake bars.

(31:45):
So I'm basically just substituting my oldjunk food habits with new healthier junk
food, and it seems to work. At least I'm adhering to those um
to those calorie limits and the weightit seems to be coming off, but
man, it is still annoying becauseI am still definitely hungry. It's still
pretty difficult sometimes because there's so muchgood food on. Even when you turn

(32:07):
on TV you see all these adsfor things, and I know a lot
of people vilify fast food, butI do still believe you can still have
fast food and do things well. There's a channel on TikTok I think it's
at flex cam Underscore ninety one thatshows a lot of ideas of fast food,

(32:28):
and also on Instagram, I thinkthat same user name Camden Anderson,
I think his name is. Itshows like ways to do like healthier,
healthier options at fast food, andI think that's a good thing. There
was somebody on TikTok who was talkingabout how like fast food isn't really cheaper
and easier and faster. But thething is is that when you know,
if you know how to really cookwell, you can do things quickly in

(32:51):
the kitchen. But it's a lotof energy, a lot of mental energy,
and for someone like myself that's chronicallyuncoordinated, autistic, and that type
of stuff is again really really hardto me, Like looking at a bunch
of legal documents, looking at abunch of complicated numbers, giving a speech
easy, but like actually cooking stuffthat takes more than that, takes a

(33:15):
lot of like steps to it ishard to me. Fast food can be
a can be a good thing ifyou know how to do it right,
and there are ways to do itright, so that could be also an
option an option too. But really, really, i've i've I've been finding

(33:40):
these interesting ways of just making things, making things kind of work for myself.
But of course with my adaptations,it's not going to work. Things
are not going to work as fastas they would in like a normal program
or normal progression. And sometimes youhave to let problems fix themselves in the

(34:02):
way that they fix themselves and thenatural flow of how a problem fixes itself.
Ideally, you want to take controlof things, you want to make
sure that you're holding yourself accountable, performing well and all of that, but
sometimes you have to flow into theway the problem is going to solve itself
and what's going to actually just workin the flow of time, because stuff

(34:24):
just keeps happening. It's like stuffkeeps campening randomly here here, here,
here, and here, and it'sdelaying things, it's screwing things up.
But sometimes it'll just be a naturalopportunity to solve the problem. Sometimes I'll
walk into the grocery store and justfind the exact thing that I need.
Like I'll randomly now Costco has theCatalina crunch cereal, and that's a good

(34:46):
healthier snack or cereal. And insteadof like forcing myself to and sitting around
waiting for the perfect time when I'mgoing to have the energy to spend four
hours meal prepping on a Sunday andmaking sure that I have my chicken,
rice and broccoli all frozen up andall that, I'll just I'll take the

(35:07):
frozen Lin Cuisine meals, I'll takethe replacement snacks. I'll take the things
that I can do easily, andI'll use that solution right now that will
work in terms of finances. MaybeI'm not going to be the perfect ideal
in the perfect ideal situation in termsof business or in terms of a job

(35:29):
or whatever, but I can takecertain steps that will help me through right
now. Maybe there were some thingsthat you've got to avoid temporarily to make
things work with you, Like forexample, I spent even though I didn't
go down to the aid of Youshow, I spent quite a bit of
money on like family birthday parties andparties and all that kind of stuff during

(35:51):
May. But this month I haven'tspent that much because I haven't done parties,
so that's helping my budget. Soit's also helping my fitness goals too.
So you kind of have to flowinto, Okay, this is the
natural flow of how things are,so we're going to plan to work with
it instead of against it. Obviously, I need to maybe be a little
more intentional around parties so I don'thave like month debt lingering from month to

(36:15):
month for doing those things on sothat I don't extremely overeat it parties that
I have to spend three weeks goinginto the gym and upping my cardio to
try to undo it. But sometimesyou just have to flow into how the
problem wants to solve itself. Andstill there is going to be maybe right

(36:37):
now, it's not the right timefor me, But there is still the
dilemma that I always go through, which is the friends or money pick one.
It's not one of those things whereif you're going to spend a lot
of time out socializing or whatever that'sfun to you, You're probably going to
spend a lot more money for it. So there's going to be times where

(36:58):
you can do that, times whenyou' do that as well. Of course,
with student loan payments coming back up, it is going to it's going
to be a little bit more difficult. And I'm not sure which solution I'm
that traf force in one direction,And I forgot to mention this on like

(37:19):
the money side of this episode,I guess. But again, these episodes
are super unstructured, so I'm justgonna do whatever the heck I want with
them. And if you have anyfeedback about it, anything that you think
is wrong with what I'm saying, anything right that you see with what I'm
saying, or if you have othertips, ideas, tricks, advice for
me, things you want me totalk about, just call eight four four
four seven seven punk eight four fourfour seven seven seven eight six five,

(37:44):
leave a message anytime, day ornight. But there are even though like
student debt relief probably not going tomake it through the Supreme Court, there
is a there are some various reliefoptions through the good work the Biden administration
is doing there are adjusting. They'redoing something called a payment count adjustment forum
student loan forgiveness through the income drivenrepayment programs and I think even through the

(38:07):
public service loan forgiveness programs. Solike if you consolidate your loans, look
into that, or you've had, like you've had any times where you've been
in like a forbearance or a deferment, like those temporary periods which if you
if you're going to come to Septemberand you don't have the money to pay

(38:28):
your student loans, then first stepwas income the income driven repayment plans,
those can help. Then second stepwould be the the deferments or the forbearances,
which are available for different circumstances. But now they're going to start counting
deferments and forbearances didn't count toward theten years or twenty years or twenty five

(38:50):
years, depending on your plan.To get forgiveness for your federal student loans,
I'm talking about federal student loans rightnow, but you can actually now
possibly get those counted back in.I have to look into I have some
Perkins loans from USC that I consolidatedthat had that had those forbearances on them.

(39:12):
So I have to look in andsee if that applies to me.
I honestly don't know if it does. And then again again, I'm forgetting.
I'm forgetting things I need to mentionbefore. But another great thing the
Biden administration is doing is the AffordableConnectivity Program. Last week was the Affordable
Connectivity Program Week of Action. Andthat's a program where you can get your

(39:37):
internet thirty dollars off your internet bill. But you don't just and I mentioned
this on a video on the TikTok. I think it's also on the Instagram
at fixer Punk. But you butyou may be able to get more than
just thirty dollars a month off yourinternet bill. You may be able to
get your internet totally free if yourlower income qualify for certain programs sometimes,
and this is if you get aspecific plan through your internet provider that is

(40:00):
discounted, and then that discounted plancosts thirty dollars, so the federal discounts
thirty dollars, you get it forzero dollars. There is a page on
Digital Inclusion dot org from the NationalDigital Inclusion Alliance about that that's more free
money in your pocket, go andtake the thirty dollars or whatever you're spending
on internet. Automatically transfer that intoyour savings account like you would the money

(40:22):
you're spending on internet, and I'lllink that in the description as well.
So hopefully you've got something out ofthis. Obviously, these are more of
my unstructured time to rant. Again, if you have any feedback, if
you have any dilemmas in your ownlife, do you think that maybe some

(40:45):
of my weird solutions would help outwith If you think that maybe I should
start reviewing doing those lazy meal lazyidiot meal preps on a video. You
want me to review some of thethousands of productivity apps, I may need
to start collecting money on a Patreonto be able to afford to buy one

(41:06):
hundred productivity apps, or even someof these like financial products out there,
these like savings counts, all thesedifferent financial services. They're supposed to help
you manage your money better. Ifyou want somebody to like give you,
like an opinion on them, Ifthat's something you'd be interested in seeing,
let me know. You can callin eight four four four seven seven punk
