Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to WCAT Radio, your home for authentic Catholic programming.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Oh and welcome to the heart of FIAT Crucified Love.
This week on our podcast, I've finally been able to
collect videos from some of the different missions where the
FIAT Foundation works and serves, and it's I've been at
(00:28):
a podcast in a few weeks because I was expecting
these to come in and it just took a little
longer than expected, which is understandable with Christmas and the
great persecution that these people go under or under. But
I finally have them, and I wanted to put together
my podcasts this week just on the work that the
(00:49):
FIAT Foundation does all over the world. People ask me
often about what we do, and really, besides me, nobody
has even a small idea of how far and deep
into humanity the FIA Foundation has penetrated. The updates that
(01:14):
I get daily from all over the world from unpopular people,
which is why it's not something that's really known. Those
who are really lost on the outskirts, obscure people whose
lives are being changed by the Word of God being
preached to them and the love of Christ being offered
(01:36):
to them through not only my books, but just the
presence of the love of everyone involved in the foundation.
And sometimes people ask me, you know, why don't you
just send food to these people, or why don't you
give them something that really matters? Why don't you give
(01:56):
them bibles?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
And I can and I will answer those questions, but
I thought it's better to hear it from the mouths
of those who we serve, because I think that's the
most powerful witness, right. And many of the countries where
we serve, people will be murdered in the street if
they're carrying a Bible, and that's why they're not available.
(02:23):
But they've told me over and over again that if
they carry my books that they aren't killed, they're not attacked,
partially because it's not a Bible, but partially, I think
just the protection of the Lord on this work because
there's so many people praying for it, and so my
(02:47):
books are a way to teach the truth of Jesus
Christ and the dignity of the human person, man and
woman and baby and elderly without it causing a huge risk, right.
And the messages that are given, especially in my book
The Holiness of Womanhood, our messages these people have never heard.
(03:12):
They've never heard it articulated this way. And secondly, you know,
part of the reason that we do what we do
is man does not live on bread alone, but by
every word that comes from the mouth of God. Right.
And food enters into you and then it comes out
(03:36):
of you. It gives you energy, right, whatever extra is
removed by the body. And yet the word of God,
instead of being used up, multiplies when the human heart
is you know, fertile ground for that to take root. Right.
So there are many different things I'd like to share
(04:00):
with you, and we're going to do that in kind
of snippet. So we'll start with a prayer right now,
and I pulled out the song Thy word is a
lamp into my feet, right, and a light and to
my path because the word what we're sharing through the
Foundation and my books is the word of God.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Right.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
And instead of being able to fix the problems that
all these people all over the world have, we can't.
Little Mary Klaska can't you know, even the United States
Army hasn't been able to, you know, stop the persecution
in Nigeria or Pakistan or Nicaragua. What we can do
is hand a small little seed that grows to a plant,
(04:43):
and it's the word of God that's a light to
them in the darkness. I'll never forget in Pakistan when
they wrote to me to be a Christian. Mary in
Pakistan is certain death. But your book are giving a
voice and a meaning and a strength and a healing
(05:05):
in the midst of our death. It's very powerful. So
let's pray, and then after that I will give a
little introduction to each of these different countries, and then
the witness that the people from those countries have shared
with me to share with you. So in the name
of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen, Come,
(05:29):
Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle
on us the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit,
and we will be recreated. And thou shalt renew the
face of the earth. Sweet Jesus, I know when you
look upon the world and humanity today, that you see
(05:52):
your people, which is a crucified church. You see bleeding people.
Sometimes the persecution is from without, as in many of
the countries where I serve, it's rebels, it's you know,
Islamic terrorists, it's the government that persecutes them. But sometimes
(06:15):
even here in the West. The Church is persecuted by
the Church, and there are many bleeding people in this world,
and we offer our wounds. We offer our sufferings in
union with you, and your sufferings on the Cross to
the Father, to be used as portals of grace for
(06:40):
the conversion of many. We also offer our wounds to you,
and we ask you to touch them and to heal them,
to protect your people, to unite your people, to enlighten
your people, to offer, even in the midst of the suffering,
(07:01):
that the world can be today the gift of your
peace and your love, that which you gave in Bethlehem,
that which you continued to give through the Cross and
into the Resurrection. And today on the feast of the
Holy Family, we ask our Lady and Saint Joseph to
pray for us in our ministry. As well as they
(07:25):
provided you with a holy family. They are the parental
caretakers of our foundation and the children of the Cross.
We asked to be brought into the Holy Family, to
be provided for by them, to be guided by them,
to be protected and fed and nourished and loved by them.
(07:46):
And we ask this in your holy name. Hail Mary,
full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art
thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus,
Holy Mary, Mother got pray for us sinners now and
at the hour of our death. Amen, let's try. I
(08:11):
don't play guitrd these days.
Speaker 3 (08:20):

Speaker 9 (09:39):
The word is a land but to my feet and

Speaker 8 (10:00):

Speaker 3 (11:13):
My pad. Wood is a lunt my feet.
Speaker 9 (11:28):
And the line.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Aunt my pan.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
I play these songs more like sitting around a campfire praying,
and as opposed to trying to do something super duper well.
Although my fingers better get healed here. I have nephews
coming over in a few hours and they invited me
to be part of their high school garage band, so
(12:02):
I am hoping that I can play a little bit
better this afternoon. That's the Congos are the bound Goes.
Sorry from the Congo. I have drums too, So the
FIA Foundation. I think I'm just gonna start by allowing
our first kind of presenter. I'll let I'll attach the
(12:27):
first video here from from Richard and Uganda. That's whore
I'm gonna go with. They have requested extra books. They
begin a huge ministry throughout the diocese. They work with
the diocese that they're in, and they originally distributed The
(12:48):
Holiness of Women and the Children of the crossbooks and
they're forming these you know, women's prayer groups and really
healing the abuse of women in the African culture, in
the Ugandan culture, and raising up these powerful prayer warriors.
You know, we have thousands of children as members of
(13:10):
our groups and they go through this Children of the
crossbook to to learn about spiritual formation, you know, even
at a young age. And the saints that that were
canonized as children and you know different ideas of how
they can grow in virtue. But then at the end
(13:31):
they use the book The Children of the Cross to
form these prayer groups. And usually they're of children, but
sometimes they're adults. And in Uganda we've broken into working
a lot among former gang members, right, so these are violent,
hardened young men and they're praying and they're coming to Jesus.
(13:57):
And we also have begun a work in the high
security prison system, and it's really incredible that both the
guards and the prisoners are requesting my books. I particularly
think Out of the Darkness on the Suffering of Christ
is powerful for prisoners. And we've distributed thousands of books
(14:20):
and they need more. They need more for the prisons,
and they need more for the game members. So I'm
going to let Richard share a little bit about the
work here and hopefully it'll inspire you to want to
not only pray for our work, but contribute financially. We're
still in need of a few thousand dollars here as
year comes to an end, and one hundred percent of
(14:43):
what is given goes towards printing books. I get nothing.
Everything that I do is free. My publisher gets nothing.
The people who arrange the printing and the distribution. They
get nothing. I don't have money for them to use
for extra little things, even transportation or things like that.
(15:04):
Every penny given goes to actually literally printing books. So
it goes a long way, right, it goes a long way.
So here's the presentation of Richard, and then when we
come back, I'm going to share a little bit more
about why a book can be powerful, and then we'll
(15:24):
go on to our next ones.
Speaker 10 (15:28):
I'm rich I to send you a not from Uganda
and I want to share with you the impact of
distributing Speak Your books here and Uganda. In the world
we are, challenge is often overshadow hope. These books have
become becomes of light, offering guidance, Sarah's and inspiration. Allow
me to wop you through the transformative stories we've watinists.
(15:54):
We've been distributing books to different people like the guns,
Sweet Cube, school children, in prisons, two different groups of women,
and to the community members. Let me begin by sharing
with you the impact he has had on gangs. When
(16:17):
we began leading out to gangs, many escaped about the
relevance of spiritual literature in their lives by time and
again we have seen these books ignite a spark of
his interception. Individuals who once lived in cycles of virus
and despair have started questioning their choices, finding hope, and
(16:42):
even seeking new paths of peace and negociation. So these
books are helpful, have been so helpful. So have been helpful,
and they are hoped the gangs to turn their pain
into purpose. Let's look at the impact has had on prisons.
(17:03):
In prisons where isolation and ligorate often dominate, these books
have provided comfort and a sense of connection to some
to something greater than themselves. We have had inmates describe
how reading these words instilled in them the belief that
redemption is possible. Some have embraced forgiveness, others have discovered
(17:27):
their potential, and many are preparing for life a positive
contribution being beyond prison wars. The impact on women. For women,
particularly those in innous situations, the Speaker books have been
giving them the like the wholeness of manhood. Innous situations,
(17:52):
the Speaker books have been a source of empowerment.
Speaker 11 (17:55):
These books have reminded them of their works.
Speaker 10 (17:58):
The resilience and the air put to rise above life
is adversities. Many women have shared how they have used
this teaching to heal forgiveness, pausing just the teachings to
him support other than their communities and work at for
themselves and their children.
Speaker 11 (18:20):
Impact on school children.
Speaker 10 (18:22):
To the youngest among us, the school children, these books
have been seeds seeds of hope. There have been seeds
of hope, seeds of wisdom planted in fertile soil. They
have sparked to your story, ensued viarial kindliness, responsibility and respect,
and naturedly the sense of purpose. These children, with their
(18:44):
open hearts and minds, are growing into compassionate and given.
Speaker 11 (18:49):
Videos who shape the bright future.
Speaker 10 (18:54):
Lastly, let's look at the videos who once lived in
cycles of arrests and despair, have started questioning their choices,
finding hope and even seeking new paths of peace and negotiation.
So these books are helpful, have been so helpful, so
(19:15):
are being helpful, and they are hoped the gangs to
turn their pain into purpose.
Speaker 11 (19:24):
Let's look at the impact has had on prisons.
Speaker 10 (19:27):
In prisons where isolation and liberate often dominate, these books
have provided comfort and a sense of connection.
Speaker 11 (19:36):
To some to something greater than themselves.
Speaker 10 (19:39):
We have had inmates describe how reading these words instilled
in them the belief that redemption is possible. Some have
embraced forgiveness, others have discovered their potential, and many are
preparing for life a positive contribution being beyond prison wars.
(20:01):
The impact on women. For women, particularly those in situations,
the Speaker Books have been giving them the like the
wholeness of manhood. Inn situations, the Speaker Books have been
a source of empowerment. These books have reminded them of
(20:21):
their worth, their resilience, and their potential to rise above
life is adversities. Many women have shared how they have
used this teaching to heal forgiveness, pass their teachings to heal,
support other than their communities, and advocate for themselves and
(20:42):
their children.
Speaker 11 (20:44):
Impact on school children.
Speaker 10 (20:45):
To the youngest among us, the school children, these books
have been seeds seeds of hope. They have been seeds
of hope, seeds of wisdom planted in fatile soil. They
have sparked for your stone, institute varible kindness, responsibility and respect,
and natured the sense of purpose. These children, with their
(21:07):
open parts and minds, are growing into compassionate and given
videos who you shape the greater future Lastly, let's look.
Speaker 11 (21:19):
At the impact on the broader community.
Speaker 10 (21:21):
How these books are rapped this community to transform beyond
these books, the effects effects and deniaive families and communities
are benefiting from individuals who are more reflective, peaceful, and inspired.
Speaker 11 (21:39):
These books have become tools of.
Speaker 10 (21:41):
Unity and transformation, creating spaces for dialog and mike understanding. Therefore,
I call upon our donors to continue supporting us dispreading
these books so that each books can save one so
one so can be saved by one book. We will
see that words can rechange people and sweitch awards can
(22:03):
rechange people. Therefore, I call everyone who can support us
in reaching more communities, reaching more members, reaching prisons and
reaching to those rural people so that everyone can be saved.
Thank you, and I remain Richard send Yondo from Uganda.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
So we thank Richard for that beautiful presentation and the
work there in Uganda. We work in many different countries
in the world. Right now we are particularly collecting money
for Uganda, for Nigeria, the cameraon Ethiopia and Pakistan. But
(22:48):
over the years we've worked in many different countries. We've
worked in Pakistan and Afghanistan. We snuck thousands of books
under the Taliban into Afghanistan. We work in Nigeria. We've
done a huge work there, especially in the north where
Catholics are killed daily. Ethiopia, the Cameroon, the Sudean, Malawi, Nicaragua, Colombia, Mexico, Belize, Peru,
(23:19):
Puerto Rico, Brazil, Poland, Russia, the Ukraine, India, and in
the United States. And all we're doing is planting seeds
of truth around the world. Why is a book important? Right?
(23:42):
And I write this in I'm reading from the FIA
Foundation's annual Report. I kind of cover all the different
questions about the Foundation in these reports that I publish
every year just so people have a better idea. And
one of my favorite testimonies to the work we do
through books comes from Saint Hilary of Poitier. I was
(24:05):
born on January thirteenth, and that's his feast day, so
we have a special connection. But Saint Hilary says, banished
though we maybe we will speak with books and the
Word of God, which cannot be held in captivity, will
make holy excursions everywhere. So banished though we, maybe we
(24:31):
will speak with books and the Word of God, which
cannot be held in captivity, will make holy excursions everywhere.
The places I serve are places that even though I
spent years and years traveling the world doing missionary work,
I could not have entered into Nigeria. I visited, but
I had to flee because the Muslims were trying to
(24:53):
kidnap and kill Catholics and Christians and Americans, and I
was all three right. And you know, the work in Pakistan, Afghanistan.
It would be so dangerous for me to go to
a place like that Nicaragua, especially to preach the Gospel.
And you know, even here in the United States, I'm
(25:14):
not the type of missionary that is popular or loved
or accepted. You know, I'm not you know, one of
these really cool big conference speakers who you know, knows
the right people. And I am banished in many ways.
I have embraced that life of littleness and the Cross,
(25:37):
and I allow the shadow of the Cross to follow
my life, so that, like Christ, simply by uniting with
him to the will of the Father, that grace maybe
bled into the world. The greatest missionary work is not
necessarily the teaching itself or the any of that. It's
(25:59):
even the serving. It's the prayer and the suffering that
is offered for those people, right, that's the most powerful.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
And so.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
You know, even here in the United States in some
ways banished though I am right, I have no big platform,
but I speak to the world for Christ with Christ
through books, and the books enter into homes and hearts
and countries and prisons, you know, and you know in
(26:34):
Afghanistan the underground church in places and ways that I
can't right, I would be banished. But the Word of
God is not bound, and so we're able to send
these books into these places sort of as the touch
of the Lord, or as the means, like I imagine
(26:55):
an airplane carrying passengers somewhere, you know, the books our
love and our grace and the teaching of Christ and
all of that to these people. And so we are
not bound. We're very free in what we're doing because
it's all right there. You know, sometimes the spoken word
(27:18):
can be misunderstood, but when you are picking up a
book and you read the whole context and all of that,
people are able to make themselves more clearly understood. And
so the Catholic faith is being quietly presented through a
simple littleness in these books in these places, and the
(27:42):
result is absolutely incredible. One of our really little missions
is Ethiopia, and it's very expensive to print books there,
so we are very limited in.
Speaker 12 (27:53):
What we can do.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
And because there was a war, everything is the infrastructure
is broken and the prices are high. But there too,
we work among those who have been left orphaned, who
have been rescued from the life of trafficking. We work
in parishes with priests and sisters, and at universities. The
(28:17):
students are taking these books and forming groups and allowing
their hearts to be set on fire so that then
they can take that fire into the world. In many way,
the books that we provide are just the kindle, and
as we lay it there, the Lord may come with
his love and his grace and kindle those hearts with
(28:38):
a powerful fire, and then it's his fire that goes
with those people out into the world. Right we're just
helping to begin this work. So right now I will
allow our contact in Ethiopia Du Ballet. He runs a
children's home for street children and orphans, and he arranges
(29:01):
the printing and the distribution of our books. He also
runs a medical center. There's lots and lots of work
for the poor in Ethiopia and allow him to just briefly.
I think his is more of like a minute or
two share with you the work that we do there
and why we need to continue that through your financial help.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
In the name of the Fathers and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. My name is Petros
from Ethiopia.
Speaker 13 (29:33):
I am a distributor of doctor Mery's spruitural books here Inopia.
I have been working hard to distribute these wonderful books
for different groups such as catechistics, priest's sisters, studentists, or
furniture dren prisoners and seminarians.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Through this, through the distribution of doctor.
Speaker 13 (29:54):
Mary's books, we are able to provide spiritual guideas to
Catholic and non Catholic Christians here in Ethopia. The impact
of the impact of these books has been truly life
changing for many individuals. Books have helped with Christians depends,
their fans and transforming there spruit child line. Personally, I
(30:15):
have witnessed a significant change in myself since I started
using these books. I have seen a positive change in
the spoos charcross of those who have had access to
these books. However, we are still facing a shortage of
books to reach all the pre parishes in need. Many
communities are requesting this book value have with books and
(30:38):
I would love to request you all donors to help
us for financial support for Fiata Foundation in USA to
print more books for Itopia and Christians. Your generosity will
help us to Christians to reach even more in difficuigats
and make a lasting impact on their lives. Thank you
(31:01):
very much, God, bless you all of you. Thank you, God, bless.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
You, Thank you du Ballet. We've also sent hundreds of
rosaries to both Ethiopia and Nigeria and they've used those
rosaries with the children to form these prayer groups. Another
(31:28):
saint who spoke directly to the sort of work that
we're doing at the FIAT Foundation with our books is
Saint John boscow Right. In a letter from March nineteenth,
eighteen eighty five, he wrote this, a good book can
find its way into homes where the priest is not welcome.
(31:49):
It will be kept as a souvenir or accepted as
a present, even by a bad person. A good book
enters a home without blushing if rebuffed, it's not discouraged.
If taken up and read. It teaches the truth calmly.
If set aside, it does not complain, but patiently awaits
(32:13):
a time when conscience may rekindle the desire to know
the truth. It may perhaps be left to collect dust
on the table or on a library shelf, and given
no attention for a long time. But then comes the
hour of solitude, of sadness, of sorrow, of boredom, of
(32:37):
need for relaxation, of anxiety about the future, And this
faithful friend shakes off its dust, opens its pages, and
as was the case with Saint Augustine and Saint Ignatius,
it may bring about a conversion. A good book is
gentle with those who are hampered by human respect, and
(33:00):
addresses them without arousing suspicion in anyone. It's on familiar
terms with good people. It's always ready to make meaningful
conversation and to travel along with them at any time anywhere.
How many souls have been saved, preserved from air, encouraged
(33:21):
in the practice of virtue through good books. The person
who gives a good book as a gift may only
barely succeed in awakening the thought of God. Thereby, in
most instances However, the good that is done is much
greater once brought into a family. If it's not read
(33:44):
by the person to whom it was given, The book
will be read by a son or a daughter, by
a friend or a neighbor. In a small town. That
book may touch the lives of one hundred people. Only
God knows how much a good book can do in
a city and a public library, in a worker's association,
(34:08):
in a hospital, where the friendly gift of a book
is much appreciated. In Pakistan, they often gather large groups
of like a hundred illiterate women and read the holiness
of womanhood out loud to them. A lot of the
work that we do in Pakistan is by volunteers. They
(34:28):
do not make a penney, who take the teachings of
the book out to those who aren't even able to read.
So beautiful, and you know, in Nigeria, our books have
made their way into Islamic colleges and universities. The women,
the Muslim women who are so oppressed, have really found
(34:52):
a great light and truth in the holiness of womanhood
and they're teaching it at Muslim unifversities as the truth.
They're teaching John Paul the second right there. Oftentimes in Nigeria,
people get persecuted and killed for you know, the work
(35:13):
that they're doing in the church, And so a book
can be left behind and enter into somewhere that it
might be too dangerous for a priest to go or
a sister in the camera roon. We have a brother
who does a lot of work in printing and distributing
(35:35):
these books, especially amongst the school children and the teachers.
And he even was the impetus behind us translating the
holiness of womanhood into French because the French speakers kept
visiting and asking him, you know, are only the English
speakers to learn the path to God? Can the French
(35:55):
speakers get to heaven too? And read Miss Mary's books?
So I think they call me Mary Elizabeth. There Mary
Elizabeth's books. So brother Joseph has gone far and wide,
and once when he was on his way to deliver
books some gain, some of the rebels with big guns
(36:16):
captured him and they stole his wallet and his phone.
But when they saw the books, they were so touched
they themselves promised to deliver them to the village, and
they did. They were even instruments of God's grace. So
right now, I think what we'll do is we'll turn
to Brother Joseph in the Cameroon first and we'll let
(36:37):
him share with you a little bit about the work
that he has done, a lot about the work that
he has done in the Cameroon and why they have
an urgent need right now, for I believe it's two
thousand more books. It's thirty two hundred dollars that we
need to print more copies of the Children of the
Cross and the Holiness of Womanhood. So please keep that
(37:00):
in mind as you listen to Brother Joseph's beautiful presentation.
Speaker 14 (37:07):
Yeah, Glory vis the Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit.
Speaker 8 (37:11):
A man.
Speaker 14 (37:14):
Greeting Mary Elizabeth of you also explained the importance of
these two books, one Holiness of Humanhood and then Raising
the Children of the Cross, especially this Raising the Children
of Cross. There has been of help to us here
(37:36):
in Cameroon since we've gone to love this book.
Speaker 15 (37:40):
This book was given to us free by Mary Elizabeth.
Speaker 11 (37:43):
And we have a group.
Speaker 12 (37:46):
Of the prayer of.
Speaker 14 (37:47):
Course, Raising the Children of the Cross prayer group Yeah
over here, and a lot of testimony have been coming
up through this book. Recently, one of the groups in
this village, a rebird who have been fighting killing repainted.
(38:08):
When he saw the children praying the rosary, he approached
them and asked them that they should give him the rosary,
that you want to join them and join them for
the prayer.
Speaker 11 (38:19):
But the book have been helping us. We have up
to fifteen this.
Speaker 14 (38:24):
Prayer group in this village alone and other village around
then holiness of the humanhoods too. A family approached me
just yesterday and beg for the copy. That he hears
about the book from a family friends who told her
that the book have been useful to the family. They
(38:47):
use it during they use it to pray, drink, dinner
and lunch, and whenever the family gathered, they used to
read it for them to know more about the meaning
of a mother and a woman. And in the same way,
(39:09):
people asks the teachers and even nosis in the hospital
they want to have the copy because they appeared about
the book. How useful is to them? A children who
their parents who are killed and rape in their present
(39:32):
by Rebert, now have a piece of mind through this
prayer book. They attend the prayer group and pray the
rosary for the priests and religious from them, they have
peace of mind. So who are acting more for copy
because we discover that it's useful to the children and society.
(39:57):
It's important modern any any other either food item or
any other thing that it can offer to us. Because
if he gives us food, who can eat it and
then digest it and forget about it. But this book
he remained with us. Come to know God, come to
(40:20):
know God.
Speaker 11 (40:21):
Through it, we have been apple to the children.
Speaker 14 (40:24):
So phyllis is important than food or any any other
item that they can offer. So we're still begging if
he can stay her pose because the children increasing in schools,
they're asking for it. In villages where the crisis are
are asking for it. A child who was raped in
(40:47):
nine years old, child who was raped by rebel want
to commit to a suicide. But when he joined the group,
the prayer group raising the children of the Cross is
now it's yeah, forgive there abit so Ghansie.
Speaker 4 (41:05):
That's through this rare book.
Speaker 14 (41:08):
God is really happy our children who I need of
God in this crisis. Soon we are thank you very much,
I mean God, bless you amen.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Our first mission anywhere in the world. And what caused
us to found the foundation was our work in Pakistan
that then bled into Afghanistan until they were no longer
able to send people and books in there. But our
work about Pakistan has been incredible, and it's the slow,
(41:49):
quiet ripple effect going out from the main core people
that we first formed in the Catholic Faith through the
writings that I sat over, and the people were so
deeply touched that our translator, A. Keith, wrote another book
(42:10):
simply about our work in Pakistan. If you've never gotten
or read this, it's available on Amazon. It's called Memoir
of Grace. And if you're one of our donors and
you would like a copy of this or our annual reports,
please just send me a message and I will get
that to you so you can see concretely where your
(42:31):
donations are going. But this book, Memoir of Grace, goes
through all of the different work that we've done both
in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the history of the countries
and the powerful witness of how these books have changed
the people. And I'm just going to let A Keith.
(42:52):
He has a beautiful presentation and it's pretty professional he
put together. So I'm just going to add that here
and I'm to let you listen to him yourself and
what we're doing in Pakistan and why we desperately need
more books. I will tell you that I have somebody
who is willing to help me with a pro life booklet,
(43:13):
because we do lots of pro life work with the
Holiness of Womanhood, but we needed some written material specifically
about abortion and the reality of abortion, the beauty of motherhood,
the you know, the fetal development, what happens at each
(43:34):
week and all of that, what really abortion is and
why it's wrong. And so we have that written and translated.
So we need to print copies of that, and we
also need to print The Holiness of Womanhood, the Children
of the Cross and Out of the Darkness for their
continued work. And we need about eighteen hundred for the books.
(43:59):
We have five hundred for the booklets, but we would
like to do more, so if you would be willing
to help us with that. We are the only pro
life presence in the whole country of Pakistan, so your
donations are not going to waste.
Speaker 12 (44:17):
Warmutads to all of you in the name of our
Lord and Savior in Jesus Christ.
Speaker 16 (44:23):
My name is Akiazad and I'm from Lahore, Pakistan.
Speaker 12 (44:27):
By the ways of God and with the sport and
love of Mary Costcar, I am running Children of the
Cross Mystry here in Pakistan for last about four years.
Children of the Cross Mystry is basically in a prayer ministry.
The main source of this ministry is the books written
by Mary Krosta. I personally believe that as Lord chose
(44:53):
our lady to be the mother of Jesus in the
same way God chose Mary Krosca to be the spiritual
of countless children here in Pakistan. Now, I would like
to share briefly and quickly that how this mystery came
into being. The national language of Pakistan is Uru. Although
(45:16):
a good number of people can speak and understand English
well here, yet majority of our people cannot speak and
understand englishmen. So whenever I find and read a good
English book, I try to translate this book into Urdu
so majority of my people can understand it. Up til now,
(45:37):
I have translated more than twenty books. But the book
that changed my entire life, the book that changed my
perspective about women, and the book that changed my perspective
about venous dignity, the name of that book is Holiness
(45:58):
of Womanhood. This book is written by Mary Rosca and
I translated this book into Urdu. This book is simple,
clear and spiritual and in force. This book has a
power to change and transform and visuals and groups. This
(46:22):
book helped me to see women as co creator and
the same book help me to see women as sacred
creation of God. In my country, most of their times,
women are treated badly.
Speaker 16 (46:38):
They are not given they are basic ribs.
Speaker 12 (46:40):
Many times they are discriminated and even persecuted. You will
be shocked to know that even small girls of six
years old, seven years old, they are sexually raped and murdered. Further,
the life of Christians here is always in a certain danger.
(47:02):
The individuals, the groups and many times the whole cannies
and toms have been burned. Last year, more than twenty
churches were burned. The persecution rate here in Pakistan is.
Speaker 16 (47:17):
Increasing every day and the reasons of this persecution is
simply that people are stopped to witness their faith. People
are not allowed to have their spiritual and religious freedom. Further,
abortion is another alarming.
Speaker 12 (47:37):
Reality of my society. Every day, thousands of abortions take place.
Every day, thousands of babies are killed in the mother's homes.
The reasons of these abortions are different, sometimes powerful and
(47:57):
sometimes some other reasons. One of the other main reasons
is also that to address on many times parents come
to know that the new baby is girls, so they
don't like to accept their baby.
Speaker 16 (48:12):
So poverty is also one of the main reasons. But
the gender discreminition is also one of the prominent reasons
of abortions.
Speaker 12 (48:23):
Therefore, because of this passion, persecution, abortion rate, and uncertainty,
Christians are living in certain hopelessness, darkness and death, and
therefore Christians always live in a certain kind of fear
of being murdered.
Speaker 16 (48:43):
Now, in this situation, these books of Mary Fosco gave
us hope, life and life.
Speaker 12 (48:50):
These books gave direction to young girls, women, men and people.
Speaker 16 (48:58):
Of different works. We started this ministry with a small
group of children and with a few teachers.
Speaker 12 (49:07):
But these books are so powerful and full of hope
love that today now, by the grace of God, we
have thousands of.
Speaker 16 (49:15):
Children in this ministry.
Speaker 12 (49:18):
You can imagine if thousands of children are praying at
the same time every week, the peace will flourish, the
justice will dwell in this world. The books of Mary
Frosca are helping people to make this world a better
place to live in. Out of Darkness is another significant
(49:41):
book written by Marry Frostcar.
Speaker 16 (49:45):
This book speaks about the true love of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 12 (49:51):
I would like to acknowledge that our persecuted people, our
persecuted Christians, are finding meaning in their souls in their
persecutions after reading this book.
Speaker 15 (50:05):
The books of.
Speaker 12 (50:05):
Mary Frossca are true spiritual food for the spiritually hungry people.
People are economically very poor. Majority of them don't have enough.
Speaker 16 (50:16):
To eat, yet their main need.
Speaker 12 (50:20):
Is not money, but to be spiritually fed. A family
of six years old girl who is raped and murdered.
This family does not need any money, but this family
needs a group of people who can pray for them.
A group of people who can pray for them so
they can be consoled.
Speaker 16 (50:42):
This family needs.
Speaker 12 (50:42):
People to pray so that they can have the real
experience of peace. The persecution of this family is beyond words.
I would like to share and acknowledge that I met
one family, father and mother. They decided to have an abortion,
(51:03):
and the reason of their abortion was that they had
already four daughters and through at Rassom. They came to
know that the new one is also a girl, so
they decided to kill that baby in the home. I
sat in this certain family.
Speaker 4 (51:23):
I had some paid sessions with them.
Speaker 16 (51:26):
I asked the whole ministry to pray for them. I
share the true value of new life. I shared the
true value.
Speaker 12 (51:36):
Of womanhood from this book, the holiness of Womanhood.
Speaker 16 (51:42):
After so many paid sessions and sitting with them and
with sharing.
Speaker 12 (51:46):
They decided not to go for abortion. I was so amazed.
I was so happy and surprised. I thank God that
they said no to abortion. Here I would like to
say that they did not say no to a portion
because they were offered some money for some other reasons,
but simply because they came to know the true value
(52:09):
of life, and this value of life they came to
know through this beautiful and American book. Last year, when
more than twenty churches were burned, thousands of houses were
burned of Christians.
Speaker 16 (52:25):
Although at that time.
Speaker 12 (52:28):
They were a great need of money, yet their main
need was someone who could stand with them in this
difficult time, someone who could pray with them in this
difficult time, in this certain persecution, they did not lose
their houses. They did not lose their churches, but they
(52:49):
also lost their hope. They also lost their freedom. Although
I can give many businesses or share merits of different people,
but I would like to conclude with one example of
my friend. Last year, one of my friends, he was
(53:12):
seriously sick. He was on his deathbed. He had been
handicapped since his childhood. When he was on his deathbed,
he called me. And when he called me, I thought
he would ask for some money.
Speaker 15 (53:27):
But when he called me, he.
Speaker 12 (53:29):
Asked me to read a few passages from the book
Out of Darkness, because this book is about sorrows of Jesus.
And when this man was okay, when this man was healthy,
he lose to her different paragraphs of these books. I
was surprised that he did not ask for money, but
(53:52):
he called me and said that I need to share
a certain and a few paragraphs from this.
Speaker 16 (53:59):
Book so he might be spiritually healed. I still remember
when he was healthy, he used to call me and listen.
Speaker 12 (54:08):
From this book because this book talks and speaks about
the sorrows and the persecution of Jesus. This certain friend
told me that whenever he heard from this book, he
finds the meaning in his persecution. So I humly acknowledge
and thank God for this mystery here in Pakistan. I
(54:31):
thank God for Mary Frosca, for her dedicated and visionary life,
for her love, for her care, for her wisdom, and
for her books. Although all of her books are very
important and very significant, yet her book The Holiness of
(54:54):
Womanhood and Out of Darkness.
Speaker 16 (54:57):
They are so prominent they.
Speaker 12 (54:59):
Have changed the life life of thousands people here kind
of keep helping us. These books are more than books.
These books give hope, life and light to our people.
Our persecution is really very serious. We all are living
(55:19):
in a certain fear of being murdered. We are living
in a fear of death. But these books gave meaning
to our death. And now I would like to say
to all of you, thank you so very much for
all we have already.
Speaker 15 (55:37):
Done for us.
Speaker 16 (55:40):
Please keep us in your prayers and be sure of
our prayers. God bless you all.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
And lastly, I am going to present to you, oh
very holy Priest. I began working with him when you
was a seminarian and then a deacon and now as
a p who is the impetus for the printing and
distribution of these books? All throughout Nigeria. I will not
(56:09):
mention his name. And this is the one video that
I decided to blur out because I just read a
stat yesterday that every two hours in Nigeria a Christian
is killed, and the priests, especially in the North, are
regularly kidnapped and killed for being priests. And we want
to protect our priests. But Father has been an incredible
(56:35):
gift to us, not only in his selflessness in organizing
the printing and the distribution of this books. I mean
everywhere in the seminaries. We have so many seminaries and
bishops that we have been able to provide books for
traveling to the outskirts. Sometimes it takes some days on
(56:58):
boats and motors, cycles and all of this to get
to these outskirts to deliver books to the parishes and
the people there, to the Muslims, to the poorest of
the poor.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
Right.
Speaker 2 (57:12):
And not only does he do all this work, but
he had offered to be our chaplain for the Children
of the Cross ministry that at some point I need
to make a little bit more official within the church,
but for now it's a grassroots program. We have thousands
of children and the only requirement is that they meet
on First Friday, although many meet every week to pray
(57:37):
the Rosary, the Chaplet of Mercy, and other Catholic prayers
for priests and the persecuted church. But even more than
what he says, the image of this video, the fact
that I have to blur out his face, should speak
to you. These people are willing to put their lives
at risk. I have had people in every single mission
(57:59):
I've worked on say I'm willing to risk my life
to do the work for the FIAT Foundation because I
see how powerfully these books and these prayer groups. And
you know, sometimes it's just the pictures. You know, each
book that I write, I paint an icon for this
is a Keef's book, but it's an icon that I
(58:21):
painted of our Lady of Pakistan. Sometimes people beg for
my books just because they want these images. They feel
such a powerful presence of God in the artwork. They
want the images in their home, and they all say,
we see such a powerful effect of this in the
world in our country that we're willing to risk our lives.
(58:45):
So for these people willing to risk their lives, I
am begging for donations because if any of you who
follow me. Know, I've been less and less you know,
doing my rosaries, my podcast, because I have to work
so many jobs to try to keep up with all
of this. And I have been blessed in many ways
(59:07):
in life, but not financially. So I need That's where
I need you. I need not only your prayer, but
I need donations in order to keep this going. We
have planted hundreds of thousands of seeds all over the world,
and they're all growing at their own rate, in their
(59:27):
own way. And yet there are people who come to
me daily that say I am hungry, and I'm thirsty
for what you have to offer, and so it's difficult
for me to say no just on something as simple
and silly as finances. So I will leave you here
(59:48):
with Father and he blesses us at the end, and
I thank you for your dedication to help support the
the Foundation, the Children of the Cross, and this ministry.
And I trust that the Good Lord will continue to
bear fruit throughout the world through you and your generosity
(01:00:11):
as well.
Speaker 16 (01:00:15):
So books.
Speaker 17 (01:00:20):
Essentials for us for us to ask for books, he said,
or food shows that food, money or food it's not
as important to us as the books.
Speaker 15 (01:00:31):
That's just the QUCT.
Speaker 17 (01:00:34):
It's easier to ask for money than books, but for
us to ask for books means that the books are
more important than sent as to our standard money, because
it's really changing our lives.
Speaker 15 (01:00:51):
I one time went to visit somebody that I never meant,
that I.
Speaker 17 (01:00:55):
Didn't know, only to discover Mary's Books in his shell,
and I was like, how did you get this?
Speaker 15 (01:01:04):
And it goes through one of our district because we
said do you know? Do you know the person? And
I say, yes, do you have you read this book?
It's very good for you to read. I say, I'm
the one that helps to get this to this place.
Speaker 17 (01:01:18):
So it is important that you keep supporting us. It's
important that you keep providing.
Speaker 15 (01:01:25):
These books no matter what it costs you.
Speaker 17 (01:01:29):
We on our part, me as a priest, I have
farmers every day for God to bless you, to replenish you,
to continue to support you. The children of the Cross
that we have there in Mandina are always praying for you,
and we continue to beg you to support me, to
(01:01:52):
support me. If food, if clothes are more important for
us than the books, who will ask for clothes?
Speaker 18 (01:01:59):
Who ask for At this point, it's surprise decisions that
these books are real important, very quant because of an
impact they are an.
Speaker 15 (01:02:17):
Every day school.
Speaker 17 (01:02:18):
Teachers are calling, principles are calling to you. Send books
are our school. We want our children to read them.
It's about the impact that we are making. We can
be eating food and we were in clothes sent to us,
our food send to us and this and still be
wicked to one another. But even with our clothes, if
(01:02:40):
we have good minds, if we share in love with
one another, we will be able to get close to
wear with love. We can get close to wear with love.
We can have money, but these books at the moment
are the most important things for us at the moment.
Please continue to support us, continue to send these books
to us, and we beg you because of what is doing.
(01:03:05):
I repeat, If we eat food and wear good clothes
and continue to beat women or live wayward lives, we
are not heading any direction. For these books changes our lives.
(01:03:25):
Make us to love one another, have respect for one another.
Speaker 15 (01:03:29):
And then in the future we will be able to
take you of ourselves.
Speaker 17 (01:03:38):
If love, if love is established in families, if all
the men in Nigeria, all the Muslims, know how to
respect women, then we will not have cases. But at
the moment, one greating that this book is doing is
it's been sent to send ar is to start reading them.
(01:04:00):
Is in them for reflections. Siscus are using them for reflection.
We go to secondary school's, primary schools, We distribute them
in the way that we are changing the mindset of
this children. We are changing everything. So it is a mission.
Speaker 15 (01:04:16):
It's a mission. And at the moment, if you give
me food and you keep that money, you.
Speaker 17 (01:04:21):
Keep the food, and you keep the clothes, the clothes
and you keep the book, I would want to go
for the book.
Speaker 19 (01:04:28):
Because of what is doing in the lives of so
many people. We thank you once again that God should
continue to bless you. Gods should continue keying into this project.
Speaker 17 (01:04:40):
Key in into this project, key into this project of
transforming the minds and halts of people are beginning more
lovers of Christ, of becoming to worship or not to
love and respect women as something that we never have.
Speaker 18 (01:04:59):
If you.
Speaker 15 (01:05:02):
Muslim societies are not so good with women. But every
year we.
Speaker 17 (01:05:09):
Publish up to two thousand copies of the Holiness of
Womanhood and other books, and they don't women. As I
speak with you now, I only have my own copy
of the book double other ones have been.
Speaker 15 (01:05:26):
Taken in the prisons. They're using them and it's touching.
Speaker 17 (01:05:32):
The people are using their books to push themselves of
the bitterness, of the pain they suffer, out of darkness,
to survive love and all these books.
Speaker 15 (01:05:43):
Are helping people. Yeah daily life. Thank you very much.
We got considered provide for you and.
Speaker 4 (01:05:51):
God bless you.
Speaker 15 (01:05:52):
Thank you.
