You know, you embrace both sides. And that's where the respect for
me and a lot of my colleaguescome in. For the social media influencers
have taken, you know, comedyinto a different stratosphere with the social media

context. You know, it's oneof those things now, um, you
know, it's become something that's necessarythat you have to have this presence on
social media. You know, itused to be just sitting in your you
know, your little zone and gettingyour set together, but now you've got
to you know, not only havea set ready for the clothes, but
you gotta have something for social mediaas well. They have to go hand

in hand. And I just respecthow you've been rans both of those and
you don't just one for the other. You you've married them perfectly. Yeah,
for facts and just to get Cocoaof flowers. Man'll tell you something.
I love the hell out of CocoaBrown because she's so humble. A
lot of people don't understand everything thatshe's accomplished and accomplishing. And she's a

phenomenal actress, a phenomenal stand upcomedian, and then a phenomenal person and
personality. Man that you know,I know there's such big things Um headed
her way because she's just a greatperson and people don't understand how important that
he is. It don't matter howmuch talent you got. We know some
funny comedians, some great talented people, but they're not good people. And

you need all of that. Youneed all of that to win. Man.
So shout out to Cocoa Brown,who I'm gonna answer the phone every
time she hit me because she's justshe's She's always treated me just with the
utmost respect and answer my phone.I was nobody and she still ain't what
love doing, you know what youknow, It's like it's so many of

know, whenever a lot of standups were like you know, these social
beauty people, I'm just like,honey, they just took it to and
you know, another another level andit's like either you could play the game
or not. I mean, evenI it has been a hard break for
me to get into making such apresence on social media because I've always been

a that you know, and thisis just me. You know, I'm
not gonna say nothing until I havesomething to say, right, And so
that dedication that you guys have tomake those skits every day. It's like
you're creative juice must be on threethousand because you're constantly creating and putting out
there. Me, it may takeme two weeks to say, oh,
that's a good one. Let medo it now. You know. You

know, like that's interesting to talkabout that. The consistency of creating content.
Um, you know what you know? I think Coco says something else
profound, the fact that you aninfluencer like yourself, Um, acknowledge those
that have paved the way. Whenyou look at now with the power of

social media, Man, what didyou see is the negative side of that?
Because we have so much positive butthere is a lot of negatives man,
And how do you balance that?Brother? To continue to do what
you do? But the bottom lineis you you at the end of the
day, we're all artists. Wereartists first. And because I started out

and stand up and there was alot of veterans, there are a lot
of veteran comments that I was like, bro, like this this is the
next phase. And this was likeprobably about eight or nine years ago.
I was like, this is thenext phase. Um, it doesn't matter
how talented you are, if ifthe if the people you the people still
have to be able to know youand want to see you, and then

and if you're not in in TVseries and stuff like Coco Brown. There's
a lot of talent here in Atlanta, um that we know are funny that
aren't gonna get the chances because peoplejust don't know who you are. So
when you take social media, youget a chance to build your own audience.
And it's gonna take a little timeto do that, but it's it's
it's worth the reward because those samepeople that that that wouldn't listen to me

back then are are trying to doit now and they could already be that
much further alan. But I mean, I get it, you know what
I'm saying, It ain't so easyto do. I just saw that it
don't matter how how how funny Iam, and if don't nobody knew who
I would, sure you just haveto start and just have basis to build,
because I mean, you know,I come from the TV and film

world where I've got all of thesecredits, but I still have to push
to get butts in the seats.I mean, if you know it it
works for me only if single MomClubs played a day before my tickets going
sale, right, Yeah, becauseeverything changed, everything change, you know,
back in the day, if yougot Jimmy Kimmel, if you got

one movie, if you got anHBO A theory that changed your life as
a comedian immediately. Now that keepsyou hot for about two months. You
still got to keep something that youhave to be if you're a comedian,
I don't care what you're doing.You need to be in these people's faith
every day. They need to seeyou at somehow, some level every day

to where when your face goes upon that flyer, when it goes up
on the comedy zone and they setit out, Oh I've seen her on
something, that's enough to get themto buy a ticket. Yeah, yeah,

or no funny. They're not playing. And I would rather come up that

staying in either or any better thanother cities. All I'm saying is the
word comedian here, who's been throughthese who's been through these trenches. It's
the vibe out there, because it'sa different It ain't no joke here,
no it is. I was cookedup. It was New York. If
you could go to New York androck Bronx, Bbq's, you could rock

Nagasakis, you could rock anywhere likeNew York was a rite of passage.
And now Atlanta's would come back becausethere's so much talent here and people,
you know, they have that NewYork mentality here in a sense of if
you're not funny, we will bootyou, we will stare it you.
Yeah, and some cities are justaccommodating, like La is accommodating. Yeah,

No, that's why you got greatstratosphere is of fame out of LA
because just sit there and go,okay, how sweet. In New York
or Atlanta, it's like boom,get your call. They get down here
and they're like, whoa They canidateon the West coast, but you come
to this south buddy a b.I know when I back in two thousand

tell people you are LA comic.He said, like, he said,
keep that East coast. And sincehe said, because they thank you a
LA comic, they're gonna thank you, gonna stink up the room. Yeah.
Man, it's why it's night andday. It really is, because
it's like it's I don't know,you know, without getting yourself the materials

is different. This is but yeah, yeah, every reason has their own
colloquialisms. I mean like when yougo to New York, you go to
Chicago, you go to Detroit,Atlanta, Miami, Texas. You know,
um, it seems like you know, LA's like that that that that
that melting pot of you know,everybody comes out there. I remember when
I first went to LA and Istarted hitting the stages and cats were like,

dang, why are you going sohard? You ain't gotta go that
hard, Like I don't know anyof the wagons. I'll be damned you
boo me and tell me to killmyself. So I'm gonna say the most
difficult city for me in the beginningwas was Cleveland. Oh my god,
because welcome to Cleveland, baby,that's where we from right in two one

six. We didn't they don't falloff the chair laughing and oh man,
we know we tell you that.Oh man, I really enjoyed. You'm
like, well, I couldn't care. Well, no, let me say
something. Let me say this.Let me because we were right here in
Cleveland right now. I'm lea mypartner over the darve, and let me
tell you why man, because wewe we know the boys when we see

it, like with Coco. Come, we love Coco. You know what

I'm like, but they're like,no, man, when George were

was your what? What? What'sbeen your experience performing in Cleveland cole Um.
I mean, if a crowd isnot feeling me, they're dead.

But at the same token, Clevelanddefinitely gave me the feeling of you got
to prove to me you're worth mylaugh. And clubs in Cleveland I've done.
You know, I've done some ofthe little side clubs in Cleveland,
and they'll be like, you know, okay, oh, oh okay,
see buddy, like that you're walkingon stage. The hell of judgment?
Yeah, once you break them down, yea, yeah, yeah, you

gotta be initiated here. You know, we ain't playing that, we ain't
just giving you no free last man. You got to show us that you
funny as hell. And if youain't funny as hell, we're gonna tell
you. But once you show us. But once you show us, we
rock with you. Yeah. Forthat's facts. Now I got a good
fan base there now, Oh yeah, yeah, we rock with you.

And if you got us And guesswhat a lot of people from Cleveland,
if you have a strong social mediapresence and follow it, they come in
and see you. They come soyou know, Now, let me tell
you something. I don't know aboutto share this, but when Coco last
trip here was that? When wasyou here like November Cocoa? Yeah,
something like that? When I wasat the improv. Yeah, now check

this out, no not Now,this is how Cleveland is. One of
the one of the opening actuals fromCleveland. Uh, one of the hosts
from Cleveland. The other guy wasopen and that he was from somewhere Florida
and Florida and they both had theyboth had a little little little altercation.
You know what I'm saying. Youdid? I mean there like basically what

happened was and this was something thatkind of blew me because um so basically,
um, the Florida comedian decided tojone on the host who was from
me, because he did have onsome clothes that kind of was reminiscent of
you know, he didn't know theOJ's and hey, real Steve went on

stage and went for blood on thiscat yo. And next thing I know,
I'm on stage doing my not knowingthe day about day have a whole
shoot him up in the green room. What oh dude? It went.
It was so bad the host gotkicked off the show and I'm waiting for
that. So I just said goodnight, waiting for the host to come
back out, and my opener comesout to close the show and I'm like,

okay. So I come off stage, They're like, yo, coo,
oh, no broke loose while youwas on stage. I'm like,
what happened? I think if youknow me, I don't watch what's my
opening comedians, because if I haveto watch you, you're not doing your
job. The only job is toset them up for me. Lovely.
If I have to watch you tomake sure you're doing that, then we

have a problem. So don't Ididn't know that they were going back and
forth on stage. I didn't know, so when I went on stage,
you know, the crowd's kind oflike, you know, and I'm like,
what's wrong? Why y'all shelf shop? You know what's going on?
But yeah, it's like one ofthose things that and I'm thinking to him,
like, dude, I came upin an era of comedy where I
was on road trips with some ofthe baddest Jonas in the world, you

know. I mean I remember beingon the road with d Ray and Corey
and Dion and Talent and JB.Smooth and these cats, and we're in
the car and Rochers, and Imean the joning was just downright disrespectful.
You had to have thick skin,but it also taught you how to snap
back and come back. That's whyI'm never afraid of a heckler, because
I know I got something. Ihave an arsenal because I was raised around

wolf. So for him to getso upset and take it personal that this
comic was joning on him, eitheryou've been out the game too long or
you're going through something. Well.I said all that to say this that,
you know, talking about the Clevelandcrowd, we we embraced it.
We you know, we're voted forwe like, we like, they about
they about to fight, what theyabout to do? You know what I'm

saying. So, and everybody waslike, what's going on? But you
know, Cleveland kind of reminds meof a New York Atlanta mix. That
makes sense, that makes yeah,yeah, it does make yeah. Yeah,

So I'm from the club owners therethat there have been some social media comics

who have come sold a club outand you know, they thinking, oh
I got this, I sold itout. But if you ain't got the
jokes, Cleveland don't care. No, yeah, Cleveland don't care. They
don't we get pressed for that selfie. If you ain't funny, we don't
care. We don't care. Ifyou're not funny and you're not good at
your craft, we will. Yeah, it don't matter how famous you are,

how many, how many followers yougot. There is flooding. They
will let you know. We're gonnalet you know. We're gonna let you
know you ain't funny, man,get your ass off to stay, they
will. We we we didn't paythis thirty dollars with nothing that we want
each comedy. We're not quite aswe're not quite as bad as New York,
