Speaker 1 (00:22):
What is going on? Everybody? Welcome, Welcome, Welcome back.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
To another episode of the John Redel Football Experience. This
is episode one, Part two of our new season.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Of the John Redel Football Experience.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
My name is John Avino and his name is Random
Minou Randall.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
What is up, my man?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
That's oh, it is John. It is Randall, the tag
team to yea.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Cold baby job. One day away, we.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Were less than twenty four hours away from just all
the glory of spending time on Sundays on the couch
the entire.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Day sports betting chasing parlays. Say it, Oh my god,
I can't believe that just happened.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Could you believe it?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
What a horrible call?

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Is less than twenty four hours away?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
John, I am so excited.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
We've got four out of the next five days with
NFL football, the one day where there's the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
We've got college on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's gonna be a huge weekend of football, the big
first NFL week of this season. If you missed our
first episode of the season, we did our season long
pins the other day.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
We will recap those briefly here in just a moment.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
But Randall, it's hard to believe how quickly the offseason
goes sometimes, and it feels like just yesterday that you
and I were sitting here talking about the Eagles beating
the Chiefs in the Super Bowl and beating them in
pretty good fashion.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
But here we are.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
It's been the whole summer. It's the day before the season.
And to your point, you broke out the song there
because I know you're super excited, just as excited as
I am to get back in and start playing all
of our favorite games to play again.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
My man, we're back in the saddle, John. I'm saddling up.
I'm ready to go.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
John. Let it rip.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
All right, Well, we don't have any previous week games
to break down, obviously, but what we will do real
quick is just run you through who Randall and I
have chosen for this year's division winners playoff picks, and
then we also picked the Super Bowl at MVP picks
for this year as well.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
We'll give those to you quickly.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
In case you miss the first episode, you still go
back and listen to because there was plenty of other
good stuff in there. However, Randall and I chose as
following we'll go through the AFC first, the East.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I had the Bills.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
The North I had the Bengals, the South I had
the Texans, and the West I had the Chiefs with
the Ravens, Broncos and Jets as my three playoff teams. Yes,
the Jets for the third year in a row, I'm
picking them to go to the playoffs. Randall had the Bills,
which is the same as me.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
In the East.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
He had the Steelers in the North, Jacksonville in the South,
Chargers in the West, and then Patriots, Bengals, Broncos. Randall,
these are already set in stone. But if ever there
was a time to make any amendment, it's now. Do
you want to change anything.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
John, let it be written, let it be said, let
it be done. I'm locked in on those picks.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I am as well. As we moved to the NFC.
The East, I had the Eagles, Lions in the North,
Falcons in the South, and then the Rams out west
with the forty nine Ers, Bucks and Commanders. Is my
three three wild card teams.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Excuse me.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Randall had the Eagles, same as me in the East again,
Packers in the North, Buccaneers in the South, and the
forty nine Ers in the West with the Cowboys Vikings
and Cardinal as his three playoff teams, of course, keeping
my Rams out of it, just like I kept the
Patriots out of mine. So Randall, I'm assuming same thing

(04:09):
the NFC, but I have to ask, you're good to
go with all your picks, right.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Let it be said, let it be written, and let
it be done. Lock me in.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
And then as far as the MVP was concerned. Both
coming from the same conference, however, two different quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I'm going with Joe Burrow. Randall is going with Justin Herbert.
And then, in a.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Very interesting twist of fate, Randall and I both had
the same Super Bowl winner prediction this year, they have
them playing different teams. I have the forty nine Ers
beating the Bengals. Randall has the forty nine Ers beating
the Bills. So we both have that team getting back
to the playoffs this year and getting over the hump
that they have been kind of trying to get over

(04:50):
for quite some time now, the last decade or so.
So the forty nine ers for both of us, and
that is how we made our preseason selection. So everything
we from here on out is going to have a
little bit of a hint of that in it. But
of course, Randall, as you know and I know, since
do we doing this for a while now, making preseason
picks on teams like that is only exactly what it is.

(05:12):
It's making preseason picks. We are subject to start picking
against these teams at any point in the season because
things change really quickly, and obviously at the end of
the year we will still go back and look at
these to see how right we were when we blindly
picked everything. But Randall, you know as well as I do,
that everything changes tomorrow once they step inside those lines.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah, we got to be able to adjust adapt.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
We get new information on a weekly, heck even a
daily basis, so when that new information comes, we have
to make new decisions off that information.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
And with that being said, let those picks lie the
way they are. We will cement those in and we
will revisit those at the end of the year, once
the super Bowl is.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Upon us, once the playoffs are upon us. Rather, But
with that.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Being said, Randall, it is time finally, after a long
wait to play.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Guess that's spread.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
It's time to play Yes, that.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Spread.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I don't know if that was good or not, but
it sounded okay.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Baby, it was good on you, good on me. Who
knows that's all the matter.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Hopefully it's good for the listeners if you're new to
the programs. This is the first episode of the season.
Guess that Spread is a game that Randall and I
have come up with a few years ago. Now, it
started out as an innocent let me just see if
I can get Randall to guess a spread of a
random a random game, and it evolved last year into

(06:50):
something else. So just to refresh the rules on everybody,
Guess that's spread. Randall and I are going to take
turns offering up different players first or a passer, then
a rusher, and then a receiver, and the other person
has to guess the line that Vegas has set.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
For the over under for that specific prompt.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Now, I think this is gonna be especially fun here
week one, because we're gonna be trying to guess lines
based on last year and what Vegas is.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Thinking coming into this year.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
There is no precedent set this year yet, so it's
always a little bit tough at the beginning of the
year when you don't necessarily know who's having what kind
of season.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
John, since you had all these fourth quarter comebacks last
season and got your first exactly remind you for the
folks at home, and exactly is exactly what it sounds like.
You get the spread exactly correct, So call it it exactly.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Thank you, John, Would you like to go first or last?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Well, Randall, it's funny you ask because his last year's
champion of this particular thing. I think I would love
for you.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
To give me my spread, or actually I'll give you
a spread first, is what I mean.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
All right, I'm gonna go right out of the gate
to one of the teams that you were back in
the biggest last year, Washington Commanders.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Jayden Daniels is at home in Week.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
One against the Giants, and he's having that sophomore season.
So what is his passing yard line gonna be set
out for Week one?

Speaker 4 (08:32):
It has to be John.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
He's playing against the Giants decent defense, not great. I'm
gonna say somewhere along the lines of like two forty
seven and a half.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
You are incorrect. It was two twenty eight and a half.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Wow, I was gonna do something in that range, and
I didn't.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
I let myself down there. It's left myself down.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
You still got time, You've still time?

Speaker 4 (09:01):
All right?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Now, remember I do recall say it last year we
should track who's off by the most and just calculate that.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
So this po technically, well, you.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Know what, I'm inviting you to do that this year.
You are qualified to do that. So you know what,
I can't do everything.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I mean, your name does come first on the show
titles sign.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I know, well we just we franchised tag you remember,
so next year, maybe maybe you fight for that on
your contract extension.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Alright, Well, since you gave me such a friendly person,
I'm gonna give you a friendly person.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Let's go to Stealers. Jets.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Guys are flip flopping teams. Give me justin Fields over
under on passing.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
I was trying to think of which one of those
two guys.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I'd want to answer this question about less, and I
think it's probably justin Fields, although I feel like I
can sort of put another on him, whereas Rogers could
be anywhere in my brain. I'm gonna say that this
is maybe crazy. I'm gonna go pretty low here though.
I think against Steelers Defense Week one, I'm gonna go

(10:13):
like one ninety and a half.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
One seventy four and a half.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Oh dude.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
The first thing that I thought was one seventy five,
and I was like, it's gotta be a little higher
than that, so I bumped it.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
That's my first The second I saw the line shot
up like if he comes anywhere near this, he's a god.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Well, I was just I was thinking it's gotta be
low because he's not gonna have a lot of passing
hours week one, like as far as the over unders concerned.
And I mean that was just way lower than I
could have ever imagined. So, okay, we're both through round
one with nothing.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
All right.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
I think I'm gonna go with a uh h, Let's
see here, we've got some good options for rushers who
I want to.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Give you, andle I got it.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Let's go with the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Rome we Okay, I gotta cut you off real quick.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Right right when you said you're going to the NAT
the Washington versus Giants game, I had literally just clicked.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
I was about to click to game. Okay, you just
said the Saints Arizona. I literally just clicked to go
to that game, like I was, That's what I was
gonna give you.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Bet I beat you to it. So maybe out of.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
My mind, John, get out of my mind.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, you better watch yourself. I'm just I'm right behind you.
All right, So I'm gonna go. Who am I gonna
give you?

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Though? Am I gonna give you?

Speaker 2 (11:54):
James Connor? I'm gonna give you Alvin Kamara. I want
to tell me Alvin Kamara's rushing.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Total Oh boy, let's see here, Alvin Kamara.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Nothing gonna be crazy high, maybe sixty eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Well, you started off right, but you went just a
little too high. It was fifty nine and a half.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Uh wow, I knew it was gonna be anything crazy.
But we're off. Is off.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
That's all that matters, I guess these days, right, John H?
All right, here we go. We're gonna go all the
way to Indianapolis where Miami goes into town.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
All right, John, give me the over under full Devon H.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
And what's his name?

Speaker 4 (12:53):
Devon Kenny? A Chaine, A Sean.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
I think it's just a Chaine and you're overthinking. Let's
see here, So he was.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
It's the funny thing that you just did, because both
times that you've said a game, I've immediately thought, which
one of these guys do I want to have to
do less, and I think Jonathan Taylor was probably the
one that I wanted to do more.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
So. A Chan is not somebody that I love this year,
but they did get rid of moster. I'm not sure
who they're. Oh the second guy is that other kid?
Now I'm gonna.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Go with.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Slightly higher than Kamara. Maybe. Uh, let's go like sixty
seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Wow, John, you're right on the first part with the
word slightly. Uh, it is sixty one and a half.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Man, sixty When I say sixty seven.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
You said sixty seven.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Well, the good news is both of us are both
of us are getting closer.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Well, you know, did you write that down that I
was that's so far?

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Maybe, Well you're supposed to be tracking. Remember, Okay, what
do I want to torture with for this final one? Here?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
I've got a great one, I think, and you're gonna
hate me for this, but we're gonna do it anyway. Uh, Panthers,
Panthers at the Jaguars. All right, I want you to
tell me Travis Hunter's first NFL receiving yards over under.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Number twenty six and a half.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Oh, man, you undersold him forty eight and a half.
What you better run and take me under, my friend?

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Wow, forty eight and a half yards for that man,
Get the heck out of here.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Well, you saw he was listed as the second wide
receiver behind Brian Thomas, and then he's listed as a
second team defensive back. He's not listed as one of
the starting dbs, but I'm sure he'll play a little bit.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
All right, So it comes down to this to see
if I can win.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
That it does, John, that it does. So where are
we gonna go.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
We're gonna go all the way to the mile high land.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Okay, I need you to give me.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Helping Ridley for Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Okay, I like this.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Well, I haven't seen the line on him, but I
have seen him quite a bit late because I've had
a couple of fantasy drafts the last couple of days
and I've taken him. I know he was questionable coming
into this game. I expect him to play.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
You and I were talking a lot about the Titans
Broncos game before we started recording, because we were talking
about our Survivor pool picks.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
And I personally think that cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Is not going to be in a great position here
week one, and I think therefore Vegas is probably gonna
temper some of these lines just a bit considering where
they're going and who they're playing. Uh So this is
all to say that for the win here in week
one on I guess that spread, I'm looking at Calvin
Ridley to have a line of fifty two and a

(16:18):
half for receiving.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
A forty eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
All right, I almost I almost said fifty, which would
have been slightly closer, but I'm in the money either way.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Wow, this guy is making miracles. Bro. I'm telling you,
you going second. It's easier. You kind of get a
feel for it. You know, I'm I'm done.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
All next week I'll go. I'll give you.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
I want to be ok, I want to be well,
to be fair.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
You just asked me what I wanted as last year's champ,
and I told you I want to go.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
You deserved it. You deserve to be You deserved. Now
I'm just saying this.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Now we get to rotate, all right if you think so?
All right, Well that does it for.

Speaker 6 (17:04):
Yees?

Speaker 2 (17:11):
The first edition of twenty twenty five, Well, I guess
not first, because we did some back in January of
twenty twenty five. I mean, you know what I'm saying,
all right, So that brings us to another favorite segment
of the show, another staple, and that would be Randall
hard Locks.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
What I said that would bring us to hard locks?

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Hard Locks?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
The mic completely tried to make you sound like that.
We weren't shouting, so we couldn't really hear any of
the wolfing there. Do you want to try doing it
again with a little softer.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Tone hard locks?

Speaker 4 (17:53):
All right?

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Right, right there you go. You just gotta you just
gotta do it like that and you're fine.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
All right, Well, hard Locks is back, and if you
know what hard locks is, then great.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
If not, you're about to come along for the ride.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Randall and I will take turns alternating and we'll pick
three games a piece each week off the show, off
the air. We do pick every game full disclaimer, uh,
based on the spread, so we keep track of that,
but we.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Are for the purposes of the show.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
We picked three games, and we keep a record of
that all year long, and hopefully we end up making
you money in the long run. So we're going to
jump into hard locks. Do you want me to go
first this time? Since I had to go second. I
got to go second for the for the other.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Thing, Uh no, this one, I want to go first
because I believe didn't were you well, no, I think
you won this corrector did I win?

Speaker 4 (18:47):
Hard Locks?

Speaker 2 (18:47):
You won the Yeah, I can pull this up because
I haven't opened up the spreadsheet in quite some times.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
That the overall or yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
So at the end of the season, hard Locks, you
were twenty six sorry, twenty eight twenty two in one
and I was twenty four to twenty six in one.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
So I did try to come back at the end
of the year.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
I had a good couple good sea weeks the end
of the season, including two three and oh weeks the
last four weeks.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Of the season. I beat you, but you still beat me.

Speaker 7 (19:19):
Overall, Well, sounds like the playoff. Sounds like I get
to go first, Okay, go ahead, all right.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
John, Well, my first pick is gonna be the first
pick of the game.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
I've already kind of told you I'm in love with them.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Give me the Cowboys plus eight and a half if
that's what you have it at or plus eight, I
don't care either way.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
They're gonna handle business. Everybody and their mother.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
John is taking Philly coming off a Super Bowl run.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
However, just because you got rid of Michael Parsons doesn't
mean they're gonna get blown out. Just because they got
blown out two times seventy five to fourteen last season
in the two games.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Doesn't mean they're gonna get blown out.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Just because they're on the road in Philly Banner Knight
does not mean they're gonna get blown out.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Give me plus eight to the boys.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Did you see side note? Did you see that?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
The uh, it's Eagles Banner Night, obviously, and they made
that public and Nick Nick what's his name?

Speaker 1 (20:23):
The coach?

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Why am I blanking right now on that guy's name? Jesus,
what's his name? The Eagles coach?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Nick? I'm like it to.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Siriani, Okay, So he said something like he said, like
it's Banner Knight. We're not gonna be out there for that,
like we're just gonna be the locker room. And I
think like Jalen Hurt said something like, yeah, we'll enjoy
it and then it's over. Like so they said like
two different things. It was pretty funny. I completely ruined
the moment there. I not know who the coach was,
so bad story by me. Okay, let me jump back

(20:59):
in here. I'm gonna my first hard Locks pick of
the season is gonna be a fun one, I think,
because I'm gonna go with the Atlanta Falcons as unders home.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
I've been all over this one all week.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
For some reason, I just feel like Atlanta is gonna
have a good year, and I think that starts with
them getting a win at home.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
I don't know enough about Panis yet to know if
he's gonna light the world on fire. But I do
know the Beijon Robinson's really good, and I know some
of those younger receivers around Panis are good, so I
think their offense is gonna be stout, and I just
don't know that the Bucks are gonna be as good.
I like Baker Mayfield, but I don't think For some reason,
I feel like there's gonna be a little bit of
a drop off. So give me right now. It's Falcons

(21:46):
plus one and a half, so I'll take that. It's
basically a pick, but I will take the extra half
point there obviously, because then I win on the plus one.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
So I'll take them at plus one and a half.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Perfect John.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
My next pick you said. I was following him all
last season. I loved the team to win the division
last year as a rookie. I'm going all the way
to Washington, DC, the Giants and the Commanders. Give me
the g MA plus six.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
On the road.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
You know what's funny, as soon as you started saying that,
I started typing.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Giants plus six and a half because I knew you
were doing that.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
I knew it was not gonna be the Camanders, and
not because I don't think you like the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Again, I just think like you like the the fanfare.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
You know, you were piping up your whole a look
at my pick from last year.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Whatever, And then I knew it was coming.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Yeah, you knew. You know me well. And all I'm
saying is a plus six and a plus eight to cover.
I love it. Give me the dogs, give me.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
The dogs a barking.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
I'm gonna take the first favorite of this contest right now,
and I'm gonna take the Cincinnati Bengals at on the
road in Cleveland minus five and a half. I know
that they didn't have a great year last year. They
kind of got it together at the end of the year,
but I do think that the Browns are gonna be
one of the worst teams in the league, at least

(23:11):
in the AFC and in that division for sure. And
I think the Bengals are gonna have a great bounce
back year. Joe Burrows my MVP pick. Why not start
one to zero with a big six point.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Victory on the road. Give me the Bengals minus five
and a half.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
I like it, John, I'm taking mine all the way
into Monday Night football.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
It's Sunday on Monday Night.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
I know it's Sunday night, not Monday Night.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
But you can do whatever you want. Man, it's your world.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
Give me the Vikings minus one. I know they're going.

Speaker 8 (23:45):
One and a half. I've got one and a half.
I'll take that, okay. I know it's a hostile environment.
I know they're going on the road for rookies first
time game. I just think the Bears are Dodo. They
are bad, John, they are bad. Give me the Vikings.
Sound the skull.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
It's interesting because you've got the matchup of two guys
from the same NFL draft class. However, one's a rookie
and one's going into his second year. Because McCarthy didn't
play it all last year. So that's a very interesting
game for Monday Night football Week one.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
There will be.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Plenty of eyeballs on that, and there'll be plenty of
eyeballs on me because I'm gonna do something that I
always do and pick the Rams in this spot. They're
minus three and a half at home, and I like
them to we win Week one against the Texans. I
don't think the Texans are gonna be bad this year,
especially considering the division they're in, But I just like
the Rams.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
To open up at home with the victory.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
I like it, John, minus three and a half. You
confident with the tick.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
I always am, dude, I always am. But we didn't
do that.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
We didn't do any barking, even though we both had
some dogs. I had Falcons and you had Cowboys and giants.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Two dogs, so plenty of barking to go around there,
you go.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
All right, Well, that wraps up the first week of
hard Locks. We will come back and see how we
all did next week.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Odd Locked.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
All right, well, Randal, that brings us to a brand
new segment of the show. We are officially for those
of you who have been wondering. Maybe you listen the
other day we are retiring the guess that word slash
phrase portion of the program at this time. Maybe it'll
come back at some point. Maybe Randall will bring it
back without me knowing at some point, which would be a.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Fun wrinkle on things.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
However, at this time, we kind of agreed the other
day that it lost some of its a luster after
I figured out what was going on, and then it
just became kind of a thing that evolved but never
really had a chance to evolve anymore. So instead, Randall
and I are now going to be doing a new
favorite segment of the program, and I can't wait to
see how Randall introduces this because that's my favorite part

(26:01):
about new segments.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
So welcome to the People's Parlay.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
It's for the people, John and Vanda up for the peeeople.
If you'd like to win money, follow the People's Parlay.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
It was like some gospel there at the beginning. I
like that, all right, So here's how this is gonna work.
The People's Parlay will be a pre set four leg
parlay that Randall and I are going to put together
before we get on the air with each other. And
the idea is that we're going to take one team
that is a underdog money line, one team that is

(26:43):
a favorite money line, any spread we want, whether that
be a favorite or an underdog, and one over under.
So these can be from any games in the week,
and we're gonna parlay all four of those together, and
we will be putting a small donation.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Or small donation might as well be a donation.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Small wager on each of these every week, and we
will keep track and how many we win, how many
units we're up at the end of the year, and
all that stuff. So, starting with a ten dollars wagers,
what we're gonna do. You can bet more than that
if you want. Obviously, Randal, I know you'll probably putting
one hundred dollars on this because you you know, you
grow money.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
In your backyard.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
But anybody at home, just so you know we're gonna
be going on a ten dollars scale. You got something
to say, Oh that was hysterical, Okay, all right, So Randall,
here's the reveal. This week's people's parlay is our underdog
money line pick is the Atlanta Falcons at home. They're

(27:39):
plus one fourteen, so they're a slight favorite. This was
one of my hard locks a moment ago. The Steelers
are our road team, or sorry, not road team. They're
our favorite with the money line, so they're on the
road at the Jets, but they are a favorite. That's
a money line we don't have. They don't have to
be on the road. That just messed up by saying that.
But yes, they are minus one sixty. And then our

(28:02):
spread pick that we both agreed on that Randall just
took for one of his hard locks, Cowboys plus.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Eight and a half. That's tomorrow night, so we'll know
right away if we're making it into Sunday. With this,
we'll have one leg down going into Sunday. And then finally,
we decided to take the under in the Panthers Jags game,
so that's under forty six and a half. Randal.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
This was ten dollars to win one hundred and twenty
six dollars. And I feel pretty good about these four legs.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
John, I mean, that's fantastic. And I know you said
the Steelers are on the road there, but really it's
kind of like a home game for Aaron Rodgers, because
I mean he was just playing at Bad Life, so
I mean, well we can count it as a whole game.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Yeah, I don't know about that, but I still think
that the fact that the two quarterbacks just kind of
swap place is interesting. At least one of them, justin Field,
is one of the two guys with the Steelers last year.
But yeah, that's that's our first people's parlay. We did
do one the other day that is a little but different.
It had to do with playoff teams. Uh, We're not
gonna count that one in the overall world of this

(29:06):
because quite frankly, I never placed the bet, and I
don't want to be fraudul about it. We're gonna call
it the preseason. Maybe Randal and I do go back
and place it, but we're just gonna start clean here
today with this first one. If you want to go
back and follow that one as well, you can just
do it before tomorrow when the season starts, because it
is playoff based.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
But Randal, that's our first people's parlay.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
It's for the people.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Okay, I like that.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
All right, Well, this was gonna be a little bit
shorter of an episode because we didn't have anything to
recap from the week before. But Randal, is there anything
else that you want to get into here before we
jump into week one? Of the NFL seasons starting tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
No, I want do you want to do?

Speaker 1 (29:51):
You want to talk quickly about our survivor pools?

Speaker 4 (29:55):
No, let's uh yeah, why not?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Let's do it, John, Okay, Well, we have decided to
take the Broncos week one in our survivor pool against
the Titans.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I think it's a pretty good pick.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
At home, They're playing against a rookie quarterback and Sean
Payton's obviously a veteran coach.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
So I think we're on the same page with this
one this week.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Right, I honestly, John, think this is a really good
go to pick for us. Like you said, Denver's a
tough place to play, they got a great defense, Sean Payton,
you know, obviously veteran coach. We're looking to go against
our rookie quarterback and a team that obviously was the
worst team in all of football last season.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
It was either this.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
This seemed like the obvious choice for us, in my opinion,
obvious choice.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
There was a couple other considerations. You have the Bengals
at the Browns. I mean, there's there aren't teams that
you could make an argument for. But I think in
the end we kind of agreed, and Randall and I
are both doing separate entries. By the way, it is
a double elimination survivor pool, and we will be seeing
if if we can kind of ride this thing out
in some way together. Now, we're gonna start by picking

(31:05):
the same team. It might not be the same each week,
but we're gonna start that way because we both felt
comfortable with the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
So that's that.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
And yeah, that's that's pretty much it for the first
first two episodes.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Week one.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
We're calling this part two of episode one, but really
it's kind of like episode two. But either way, that'll
pretty much do it for us. Randall, I think I
think we're in a good spot heading into this weekend.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
John, We're in a great spot. You know why because
we haven't lost any money yet.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Yeah, well, don't worry, it's coming, trust me.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Uh, whether we win it, well, if we hit the
People's Parlay, we'll be off to a great start and
we'll see if we can keep.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Going from there.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
But I'm optimistic this season. I'm optimistic every season. This
is gonna be the year for everybody to win some cash.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
But that being said, I.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Agree this is the year that we shut him down,
and we chucked down Vegas as an industry because we
take so much money. That'll do it for us, though, Randall,
I'll let you take it away. We will see everybody
next week when we're back recapping Week one of the NFL,
back here.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
On the John Randall Football Experience. Until then, Randall, take
it away.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Goodbye, goodbye, good friends, goodbye. We have football starting tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
We made some bets and we hope to do it.
I hope you get you.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Cat Ash shout, cat ash shout the long track.

Speaker 6 (32:44):
See him

Speaker 4 (33:11):
