Speaker 1 (00:21):
What is going on? Everybody? Welcome, Welcome, Welcome back to
another edition of the John and Randall Football Experience. My
name of John Avino, and joining me is my guy
Randall Minogue. Randall, another wild weekend of football. It's four
weeks in. How you feeling, John?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
This league, man, it is crazy. One wins one week,
another team wins another week. I hope you guys aren't
losing a lot of money out there.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Who are you talking to? Who are you talking to specifically?
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Or maybe you're talking my inner self? I guess I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, Well, it's been one of those kinds of years
so far. We talked about it after week three when
we both exited our survivor pool at the same time
after three weeks, and now week after four, and it
still was one of those wild, wild weeks where he
had some unpredictable results, some games that were just really
(01:24):
interesting from his perspective of who won and how they
boiled down and shook out ultimately. So we'll get to
all that, but let's let's go with quick hits. Randall.
You know how it goes here. We do quick kits right.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Off the bat, Hits John, I'm feeling like I was right.
I said the Jets we're gonna be coming down last week.
I said that. I did say that, And guess what
you're lost to Denver?
Speaker 1 (01:55):
John.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
My quick hit is I'm just pounding myself on the back.
I was right. They look horrible. Robert Solid doesn't know
how to coach the Jets. Your pick to win the
division stinky.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
By the way, I don't like that you're calling me
out about that right here, because it's not my fault
that they've had major personnel issues. I'm just making that up.
But the rain certainly didn't help them.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
The other day though, it didn't help. But guess what
Denver had to play in it?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, I know, I know. All right, Well that's a fair,
fair quick kit. So my quick kit is going to
be that I'm going to be holding a funeral for
the Rams season this week. So the Rams, this was
a game that I thought they'd win, but their season
in effect almost came to an end here because they
(02:48):
lost to the Bears. Yeah, they couldn't get in the
end zone early the Bears. They couldn't get in the
end zone early, and they couldn't get in the end
zone late. Really, I mean they had I think one
touchdown this game. Kyron Williams scored it. Other than that,
I think they have four field goals, so they they scored,
but they obviously couldn't get the big ones that they needed.
(03:10):
And Caleb Williams, I mean, he didn't play great, but
he played well enough, and he's played a little bit
better the last two weeks. So my quick hit is
that I think the Rams are on life support right
now and they're gonna need some sort of spark to
bring them back to life.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
They're holding on by an edge, John, And to be honest,
I don't think they're gonna get it. Your two best
wide receivers are out. You need a lot of help.
And frankly, after you guys won that Super Bowl, God,
you have come crashing, crashing down.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Well, they were a playoff team last year after two
years ago when they had the injury Stafford and Baker
Mayfield had the one game, but ultimately it was a
bunch of misfit toys that were playing quarterback throughout the
year that year when Stafford couldn't play. Last sure, they've rebounded,
I thought, well, even with cups early season injuries. Phokinaku
(04:04):
was obviously a big reason why, as was Kyron Williams.
But it really did look steady. And then, you know,
I kind of said it before last week, but you know,
playing the forty nine ers, they really I thought escaped
with a season saving win. I don't mean that to
sound dramatic, because I think it really is. If you
go over and three, you know, what's the percentage that
(04:26):
you make the playoffs, And there's only four teams that
have ever done it, So I'm not looking at as
an optimistic thing if they lose to the forty nine ers,
but they somehow pulled that game out, and then I'm thinking, Okay,
we have the Bears next. You're gonna get to two
and two hopefully, and then it's like a kind of
a reset. But yeah, I'm not feeling great right now,
especially given the way they kind of got smacked around
by a division team and the Cardinals as well when
(04:50):
they played them. The Cardinals usually are a team that
we can handle, even if we're not playing as well
as we can. So I don't know, Randall, I think
this I think the year. It's not just my quick
can anymore. We're now moved on to talking about the game.
I just think that five of a Rams fan. It's
looking pretty bleak right now.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
The corner of the way. Excuse me, we are a
quarter We are at the quarter mark. Can't speak. I
can't speak, John, Oh No, no, I can't speak because
the Patriots are killing me. Yeah, your little transition right
to there, man, God. And if they're not killing me,
(05:31):
know who they are killing. They are killing their quarterback,
Jacoby Brissette. That dude's gonna die on the field, John,
die on the field the way he is getting obliterated
up there right now. I feel like they had to.
He knew what he was signing up for. They said, hey, man,
here's eight million dollars. Go take some hits so that
(05:55):
way our rookie quarterback doesn't die out there.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Well, that's what I was trying to say. That's what
I've been trying to say. Is I mean, everybody's calling
for Drake May because you know, the offense has not
looked great. But I mean, what are they gonna do
if Drake May goes out there and he just starts
taking hits. How's a quarterback supposed to develop if he's
out there taking hits constantly? So I don't think that's
(06:18):
a very good idea to play him right now. I
don't think it's a great setup situation with with percent
playing either, quite frankly, but I told you this was
coming this year. You knew it. We all knew it.
The Patriots weren't gonna be very good this year, and
it's gonna be a transition year for a lot of reasons,
one being that their coach is new, their quarterback situations
(06:39):
brand new after they already tried to reset it once
since Tom Brady left, So it's gonna be interesting to
see how this this progresses. But ultimately this year, after
they had the big win Week one against the Bengals,
all of a sudden, speaking of coming crashing down, you know,
if you want to say the Rams have come crashing
down since their Super Bowl win, then I just have
to say that the Patriots have really come crashing down
(07:03):
since Tom Brady left, which is no no surprise to you.
You know it, you lived it.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Would you say I didn't say anything?
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Oh, I thought I picked up a little feedback from
you as I was saying that. But but yeah, anything
else to say about the Patriots. This was really not
a great performance for them. Thirteen points in the game.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
I'd really, John, just not, I'd really really would just
like to not waste a bunch of our time on
talking about a crappy football team.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Yeah, good for us. Two things I will say, ramondre
Stevenson fumbled for the fourth straight game, which is a
little bit concerning, I think, right.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
The other thing was that Joey sly sixty three yard
field goal. No him a little Yeah, gotta give him
a little credit. The Cowboys play the Giants on Thursday night.
We'll rewind now to Thursday for a moment here. This
game is probably closer than a lot of people thought
it should be. Randall. I know you maybe were one
(08:17):
of the people who took issue with the spread here
in the fact that Brandon Aubrey missed a field goal
that would have made it a different situation here, Am
I right about that?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
John? The dude was seventeen for seventeen, which is why
I can't from fifty plus yards? Yeah, dude was on
a hot streak. And you mean to tell me, Sean
that he happens just happens to miss his first field
(08:50):
goal from fifty plus yards when there are implications no,
not for the game screw the game. But for when
it comes down to the spread, that is fishy. That
is very very fishy. And not only did he miss,
(09:13):
he shanked the hell out of that.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, I mean it was it was a bad miss.
And I know there's a lot of people that had
a different spread than you or you know, they had
a closer spread that ended up hitting, but there's a
lot of people who didn't. And ultimately these things do
matter to the people who were betting on them, but
not the players on the field who don't care anything
about it. Quite frankly, but Cowboys gotta win the game.
(09:41):
They needed one. And Daniel Jones, while he didn't play
terribly as far as past pass completion was concerned and
his total yards, I mean he really didn't generate any offense.
They had five field goals. You gotta get in the
end zone, te trust me. I just talked about it
with the Rams. If you're gonna have any sort of
excess in this league consistently and win games, you have
(10:03):
to get in the end zone.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Yeah. I mean, Molik Neighbors is something special on that.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
He's awesome, he.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Really is. I mean, they got it. They made a
great pick there. Now, they just need to get him
a little bit more of a competent quarterback potentially, who,
like you said, last couple of games, Daniel Jones has
been decent, you know, better than the trash that he's been.
But there, he's gonna start playing a couple teams like
(10:33):
the Seattle Seahawks, who have a little bit better of
a defense. So he's he's gonna be in a couple
of dog fights now. So we'll see if he can
keep that up. If you can, great, If not, he's
gonna be finding himself a new job, let's just say
the least. Yeah, it's a new place, new place of work.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Would you say it's gonna be in the NFL or
have to go somewhere else?
Speaker 2 (11:00):
No, I think he'd stay in the NFL as a
backup somewhere. Yeah, he definitely would.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
You mentioned this Broncos Jets game a few minutes ago.
It was bad weather, the Jets ultimately only end up
with three field goals. I want to play a quick
game with you. Not guess that spread that's coming up soon,
But Randal, can you play guess that how many yards
bo Nicks had in this game that he won?
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Well, John, I do know for a fact he had
less than zero at the end of the first half.
Am I correct there?
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah you are, because I just remember seeing the stat
that he had like six completions for like negative eleven
yards or something.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
God. And the fun thing is, sacks don't count against that.
Sacks are its own category in the NNL.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
In the in college, it counts against you rushing yard wise.
Always for quarterbacks, you always look at the net yardage
if you can, or the positive yardage, and then that
yardage second, as with running backs. He would look at
the other way around. But do you know how many
yards he ended up with here?
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I'm gonna say sixty seven?
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Oh man, you overshot. He had sixty on twelve completions,
five yards per complete.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Oh god, imagine imagine your Aaron Rodgers sitting on the
sidelines saying, Hey, I just I just lost a game
to a rookie quarterback at home who only threw the
ball for sixty seven yards.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yep, yeah, you want to hear something crazy. No, you
said sixty seven. It was sixty Mike Jillians. Mike Williams
had sixty seven receiving yards by himself. Alan Lazard had
fifty eight so they were both pretty close to Bronco's
total passing. But here's the fun thing about these stats,
(12:56):
because these stats are all really fun to look at.
Here's a trippy one for you. So Bo Nicks was
twelve twenty five for sixty yards. Right, we just said
that Courtland Sutton had three catches, three catches for guess
how many yards? How many sixty? So he had sixty
(13:17):
yards and bow Knicks threw for sixty yards. But yet
there's nine completions elsewhere that ended up as a as
a net just zero. How does that happen? And more importantly,
how does that happen in that team wins the game?
Speaker 2 (13:35):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
What?
Speaker 2 (13:36):
What's what's more? Or are you happy with the win
like that? Or are you liked with your coach?
Speaker 1 (13:46):
If you're a coach, you tell Bo Knicks, if you're
Sean Payton, you say, you know what, you played about
as poorly as you can play and win in this
game in this league. You know what I mean? You
only got exactly you got up to go from here.
You got to the defense, and you got to get
your fucking head out of your ass, is what I
would say to him. Yeah, but yeah, So that's just
(14:08):
a wild stat I had to bring up. But the
Jets you said, I've.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Expected him to play. I've expected him to play a
lot better this year. I get it. He's a rookie
and right now he was just he's not stepping it up. John, Yeah,
he's playing well.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
He's playing better than Caleb Williams. I think.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I mean, yes, maybe laying.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Up the last two weeks, although those are the two
weeks the Bonis won.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
But yeah, correct, I mean, hey, winning games, I guess
that's all that really matters, right, But at the end
of at the end of the day, Caler Williams, he's
starting to complete some passes. He's not thrown for under
one hundred yards anymore like he did Wink one right,
like where Bonicks still doing that. But I mean, if
(14:58):
we want to move on to that next category with
your Rams versus the Bears, I mean, I know, and
we just talked about Yeah, you talked about it on
the Rams side, you didn't really talk about the Bear side.
I hate to do this to you, John, I'm just
trying to help you out because I'm I'm still shocked
(15:19):
that the Bears were able to win that game. But
I'm still shocked that they're still not as good as
you would think they would be. I mean, Caleb Williams
has the talent. I feel like they'd be a lot
better if they went with Jaden Daniels. Gonna get to
him in a second, but you have now of course
(15:40):
it is, but a lot of people did see that
where Jaden Daniels was more pocket guy can use his
legs to run pretty well. Where Caleb Williams he the
play would break down way too much and he just
roll out and try to make a miracle happen, right,
which isn't going to get him successful consistent results. He
(16:03):
has a great rookie run wide receiver, Romo Zunde Oons Yeah,
I know, right, got the first name right at least,
but he's not targeting him as much as he should be.
He's been getting wide open on plays. They need to
be better. And what is.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
The point is that they have DJ More, Keen Now
and Roman Dunes and between those three guys they had
seven catches and basically fifty yards.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yeah, yeah, like, how is that acceptable? It can't be? Yeah,
the coach and whether that falls on the coach because
it's a rookie quarterback. And I get it, you're trying
to win right away, so you don't really have time
to develop him, but he needs to. I feel like
in this you're able to figure out really quickly who's
(16:55):
going to be a guy and who's going to be
a dud. I mean by the end of the halfway point.
So in four more weeks, at exactly the end of October,
we're gonna know if Caleb Williams is here to last
or if he's just gonna be another Justin Fields bust.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah, Oh, Caleb Justin Fields looks a little bit better
with a different team. Now. Granted they didn't win, but yeah,
I mean, DeAndre Swift is their leading receiver in addition
to their leading rushers. So if you want to talk
about perspective, it's that they you know, it's classic. It's
why people used to give Joe Flacco hard time, which
we'll also get to him in a minute here, because
(17:37):
he was with the Ravens and his leading receiver every
year was Ray Rice and it was like, wait a minute,
he's throwing the ball to the running back all the
time and they were winning games. So it works. Sometimes
you just check down as your offense and your defense
is good enough, but this team has too many weapons
for that to be acceptable. As you said, they went out,
they invested in Keenan Allen after they'd given Dj Moore contract,
(17:58):
and they draft Roma Dunes in the first round after
taking Caleb Williams in the first round. So clearly they're
putting a lot of perspective on offense. But at the
end of the day, they win a game. Randall, they're
two and two. They're sitting pretty compared to some other
NFC teams. You know, the two teams in their division
right now that one of them is two and two.
With the Packers dropping this game, it would ended up
(18:20):
being a crazy game. Even though the Vikings led twenty
eight nothing at one point, Sam Darnold stays undefeated. However,
this game ended thirty one to twenty nine in favor
of the Vikings, So it was they were up twenty
eight nothing and then Green Bay outscored them twenty nine
to three over the final Basically, they scored their first
(18:44):
touchdown with fifteen seconds left in the first half, did
Green Bay, So you just call it basically the second half.
But they did get seven before halftime, So what were
you I guess that. Yeah, I was gonna say, do
you think that it was surprising that Green Bay A
was able to get back in this game the way
they were, or be that they fell behind to begin.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
With, just a little bit of both, right, Like I mean,
you're at home at Lambeau. Normally that's a tough place
to play, right you would think I wasn't sure, Okay,
is this Sam Donald magic gonna wearof it? Clearly didn't
Jordan Love's first game back, so maybe that was what
(19:24):
it was, trying to get the rust off. But they
had a chance down the end. John there was a
couple minutes left on the clock. I forget exactly how
much time was left when he threw an interception and
I don't know if it was the end zone or
he like threw on a go route right at like
the five yard line, the goal line in the end
(19:46):
zone one of those three spots, and it was a
force pass. Didn't have to happen. They were down just
the thirty one twenty nine at that time, with I
think it was like five minutes to go, so they
could have marched down the field. He rushed it, threw
it up. Rookie mistake for a guy that's not a
(20:07):
rookie can't happen, so they realistically could have won that game.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Well, you just said a guy that's not a rookie.
I'm gonna take it a step further and say, a
guy that's basically the highest paid player in the league.
I'm pretty sure he is. And if he's not, he's
like right there. But he threw the pick with six
thirteen left in the fourth quarter, and then they were
down nine at this point. They get the ball back
after they hold Minnesota three, and now they get the
(20:33):
ball back with four point thirty one to go, and
they get the ball and they actually fumble it and
it's recovered by Minnesota, and then they get the ball
back again and they somehow score a touchdown. So they
faltered two opportunities in the last six minutes of this game.
Still actually had a third opportunity, which they did capitalize on.
But if they're able to take advantage of one of
(20:53):
those two other opportunities, they win this game after being
down twenty eight. Nothing but give the Vikings credit. They
may not have had a great second half of this game,
but they got themselves in position, and half the battle
is getting yourself the lead, and I think that they
deserve credit for that because you know, let's face it,
Sam Darnold has looked pretty damn good and the first
half was great. I did think Aaron Jones was a
(21:15):
lock to score in this game because he was going
back to Green Bay for the first time as a
visiting player. He had a decent game, but he did
not get in the end zone, so that was kind
of disappointing.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah, and to mention, like off of what you said,
Jordan Love tied for second highest okay, tye with Joe Burrow,
Trevor Lawrence, right behind Dak Prescott, who obviously just got paid.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
But every Lawrence has paid that much.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Jesus well, John, I want, I want you to listen
to this, Okay, please, So the top ten guys out
of the top ten guys, seven haven't even been to
the championship game in their own conference.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, that's rough.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
You got Trevor Lawrence in that, Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow
made it, Okay, Tua hasn't made it. Okay, Daniel Jones
is in that list as well.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
That list, I'm pretty sure now, isn't me.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yep, the Watson's on that golf go to the championship.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
They did go right and they lost?
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Right, Yeah, well he went to the super Bowl versus
the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Oh right, right, right right, I'm thinking of the lies.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
But yeah, yeah, Herbert Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts has gone
to a super Bowl and Kyler Murray. So you got Hurts,
you got golf. So two guys and Burrow, three guys
in the top ten have been to a super Bowl.
So they've been to the championship game. Seven guys on
(22:54):
the top ten list haven't even been to the conference championship. John,
That is scary, Like, what are these owners and GM's thinking.
What was the GM thinking for Daniel Jones, who's basically
number eleven on the list.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I was thinking that they want a playoff game. They
wanted to keep that same feeling of happiness.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Yes, but that is ridiculous. Justin Herbert, this guy we
thought was gonna be a god has stunk it up.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Yeah. Remember we thought fraud all last year?
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yes, yes, is know who the real fraud is? Jast Lawrence.
I'm going Trevor Lawrence fifty five mill a year and
this dude, by the way, twenty and thirty in his
career under five hundred by ten games. John, Yeah, I
(23:56):
mean then in the playoffs should be going two.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
This was a game between them and the Texans. But
he just lacks something. I don't know what it is.
He was much better in college. I mean, you say
that about everybody, but he he had it felt like
he was going to be able to come into the
NFL and manager Brow.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
You thought he was going to be transcendent. Yea, right,
and he has weapons around him. We've talked about this
numerous times. But John, I want to let's play another game.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Out of the top ten guys in so we got Kyler, Murray, Jalen, Hurts,
Lamar Jackson, Justin, Herbert Golf, Tua, Love, Burrow, Lawrence, and Dak,
how many have a winning record? Number one? And then
(24:52):
how many have a winning playoff record?
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Can you give me the list one more time now
that I know the question.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
All right, it's Dak, Trevor, Lawrence, Joe Burrow, Jordan Love,
Tua Golf, Herbert, Lamar, Jalen, and Kyler.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
All Right, I'm gonna say that four of those guys
have a better than five hundred record in the regular season,
and two of them do in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
So two out of ten have a winning record in.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
The playoffs, that's what I said.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Yeah, okay, so you said four in the regular season,
so we got Dak for one. Yeah, we have Joe
Burrow for two. Yea, we have Tua for three, Golf
for four, and then Lamar for five, Jalen Hurts for six.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Okay, yep on the list too. I was not accounting
for him because I think that in the first terrible
year at Detroit, but they were he was in Saint
Louis or sorry LA for a while.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
So how many did you say you're over five hundred
in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
I'm gonna say two of them in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Only one is over five hundred?
Speaker 1 (26:18):
Is it Joe Burrow?
Speaker 2 (26:20):
It is Joe Burrow at five and two. Trevor Lawrence
is five hundred at one and one, Jordan Love is
five hundred at one on one, Goff is five hundred
at four and four, and the rest have a losing record.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
So you think was gonna be on that list because
of his successes.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
But yeah, so really, you know what playoffs tough. Only
one team is gonna win. So if you have If
you're five hundred in the playoffs, Okay, that's decent. So one,
I'm not counting Jordan Love, I'm not really counting Trevor
Lawrence with their one and one crap. So you got
(27:00):
you guys over that are five hundred or better in
your top ten of salary wild to me.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Yeah, I love when you go I love when you
go down these like, uh, fox holes or rabbit holes
whatever they're called.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah, I mean, hey, I'm crazy that Patrick Mahomes isn't
on this list.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, or or Matt Stafford for that matter.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Yeah, yeah he Uh.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Do you have anything to add about the Texans Jags
game though, because I just mentioned a few minutes ago
it was very close, but it really felt like the
Texans should have won the whole time. They did ultimately win.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, Jags, man, they're what are they all win four
now games? That? Yeah, it's Doug, Doug. Doug Doug Peterson
put the forced sales sign out in front of the house, buddy,
because you're gonna be leaving town, all right. I mean
(28:01):
it is brutal. What this This guy's gonna be the lead,
He's gonna be leaving Jeohn with the Thanksgiving food right
on the table as he's walking out the door. Okay,
I can smell the sweet potato pie coming out the
oven right now, because that's when he's getting fired. John,
do you think.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
It's gonna be right then? I don't think he's gonna
make it that.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
I think I think it's gonna I think they're gonna
send a message right at the holiday season boom right
then and there.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Have you ever seen the hangover?
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Of course?
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Do you remember when they lose Doug? Of course? Yeah?
I think that, like, maybe Doug Peterson should be like
that Doug and get lost for a.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
While, you know, God, I mean I feel bad for
him though, because his quarterback is incompetent and can't hang
on to the ball and just keeps on turning it over,
turning it over, turning it over.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
But maybe they should try their backup out.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Stop the nonsense. John mac Jones isn't gonna save them.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
I know, I know, all right? How about young way
Ku winning this game for the Falcons. They kicked a
bunch of field goals in this game as well. The
Saints Falcons good NFC South Battle. Neither quarterback played overwhelming well.
In fact, they were within This is wild. Actually they
(29:28):
were within one passing yard of each other, and they
both threw a pick. That's really strange. Carr had two
hundred and thirty nine passing yards. Cousins had two hundred
thirty eight. I don't know if I've ever seen that before.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Yeah, Cousins has been a little ify on some of
those throws too. And I believe he had another intersection
this game. I just like you said, Yep, Coup coming
in clutch. That dude. He had four field goals, right
or three?
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Uh? He had four? I believe. Yeah, they kicked model
of consistency, including one with two seconds to go from
fifty eight yards to win the game.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Model of consistency. I mean there's a lot of kickers
missing some field goals this year. However, the percentage of
kickers making fifty plus yarders this year is through the roof.
Through the roof. Okay, everybody's got it. Used to be
Greg the leg. Now everybody's got the leg. Okay, I
(30:29):
mean young old cool bro. And it's not young way cool.
It's not just remember Sebastian Janikowski. It used to be
that bombed it. Oh he's go lining up for a
fifty yard er. Oh what are they thinking about doing
this for? And he would bomb it. Maybe he'd make
(30:52):
some maybe he wouldn't, but it was impressive. Now it's
you're lining up for the fifty plus yarder. These guys
are nailing them.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Yeah, except for your guy, Brandon Aubrey. Except for you
know what's wild about the Falcons of this game? Though
they didn't score an offensive touchdown, they had two touchdowns.
Both of them were Correll Hodge Carderill Hodge fumble recovery
in the end zone. It was that a defensive it
was on the special teams, I'm pretty sure right on
(31:20):
a punt.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
And then yea.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Forty seven yard pick six on Derek Carr. So no
offensive touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Saints had three offensive touchdowns, two
by Taysom Hill before he got hurt, one from Kamara,
and then they kicked the field goal as well.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Some Hill Swiss army knife man. He's back and rushing it.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Well, he got hurt, so we'll see if he's healthy
next week. Sticking in that division a game that was
not all divisional, but Buccaneers kind of rebounded well after
getting trounced by the Broncos a week ago. And I
think I think we're starting to learn us all a
little something about the Eagles here. I think that they
are considered to be on my fraud list, and I think, uh,
(32:05):
I think I had them there coming into the year,
because remember I didn't want to pick a team to
win the NFC East because I said everybody was frauds.
But the Eagles are. Yeah, press the fraud button.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yeah, give him that fraud alert, John, because I feel
like I saw this starting to happen last year. You
started out ten and zero, I believe eight. You know,
should have lost to the Bills on that Sunday night
game where it came down to the wire they won
an overtime, and then after that game, just a massive
(32:41):
losing streak, right, just offense wasn't going, defense wasn't playing well,
they were not gelling as a team. And we're seeing
the same things happen. They got lucky against the Saints
last week, John, or two weeks ago. You turn the
ball over three four times, you're expecting to lose that game.
(33:02):
You're expected to lose that game. The Saints just didn't
capitalize on that.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
But there they got Yeah, yeah, they got pounced by
them by Tampa Bay last year in the playoffs in
the wild card round.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
They go back down to Tampa Boom lay a spanking
on them. Who's your daddy, Your boy?
Speaker 1 (33:25):
TV twelve was talking some some crap about Baker Mayfield.
I think the whoa, whoa, whoa.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
You gotta you can't be saying stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
John, Okay, let hold on, let me, let me restart,
Let me restart. Baker Mayfield said, said some things about
coming into Tampa and the guys were having fun again
for the first time in a while.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Right, and Baker Mayfield was talking smack about their goat. No, no, no,
you can't say Tom Brady was talking smack. Baker was
talking smack, he said. He said management came to him
and said, and I quote got we want to bring
(34:10):
fun back into the building. Well, what does that mean?
I thought you wanted to win super bowls? Super Bowl
wins are fun. You're not gonna have fun. You don't
need to have fun out John, go deep, buddy. I
love throwing you the ball.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Oh this is so fun that I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Yeah, me and you would have a grand old time. John.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
The line, I think the line Brady had was he said,
I thought I thought not having well he did say
that too, but I think he said if I thought
not having Super Bowl rings was stressful, is what I said.
I'm like, that's a hell taking shots.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
He was, he prepared and I respect them for it.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
And then it played out post game because they reviewed
Baker from the field and Brady, as he was like
saying goodbye to Tom, was like, you know, keep keep
pushing them, guys, and Baker was like, good to see you, Tom. Thanks.
So clearly there's a little something there, you know.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
The dude, the dude, Baker Mayfield thinks he's arrived. I mean,
his bank account has arrived, clearly, but he's he's he's
not gonna be anywhere close to winning being a winner
like that.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
You know who is winner? Tom Brady, Joe Flacco.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Talk about a goat, talk about elite John.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah, you can't still Joe.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Oh, it is incredible. You think, oh my god, Anthony
Richardson goes down. You're playing a top defense in the Steelers,
and wait, who's that coming in the game.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Who's that? Oh? Blow?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Joe Fla go out there? Is he who led the
Browns to a playoff game. My eyes thought they would
deceive me. It is Joe Flacco, elite quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
You know, the only reason the Browns didn't bring him
back is because they didn't want to have a quarterback controversy.
True story, But the Colts were like, hey, the Colts
were like, hey, we need you to come here because
Richardson's probably gonna get hurt, and sure enough he did.
I thought the best line though, and this game obviously
was a little interesting in justin fields actually played pretty well,
especially from a fantasy standpoint. I started him. He had
(36:34):
thirty one points. But I thought the line of the
night was after the game, Joe Flacko was being interviewed,
and I forget who was interviewing him, but basically it
was like, you know, Anthony Richardson said, you're cooler than
he thought you were, and Joe Flacco said, you know,
he told me I'm eight years or eight days older
than his mom, so there's no way that he thinks
(36:57):
I'm cool. That was pretty funny. But yeah, I mean,
this is just wild that Joe Flacco is. I mean,
he's basically I think he's the oldest player besides maybe
Tom Bray or sorry, not Tom Brady, obviously not besides
Aaron Rodgers, and maybe he is older. I mean, if
(37:19):
he's thirty nine, I think Rogers is also thirty nine.
But good for Joe Flacco. And I mean, this is
another guy that was on the Jets like two stops ago,
looked like he was dead out there, literally, and now
he's playing good football for the second straight year. Granted
this was just one game. He came in relief, but
we'll see if he ends up starting again and how
they fare. All right, So what did you make of
(37:42):
Jayden Daniels because you said you had a little bit
to get to him later.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
With, Yeah, the dude is a baller, John, I mean,
he's coming out there to play. Okay, it wasn't his
two hundred and thirty three yards a touchdown. Yeah, you
got to pick. He's running for about forty to sixty
yards a game with his legs, you know, so he's
being efficient there. But to take a Washington team that
(38:10):
was god off of the last couple of years and
to be three and one, I mean, you lose your
first game and you're on a three game win streak, now, Okay,
I mean It's been somewhat of an easy schedule. Tampa,
the Giants, Cinci Arizona. You know. But let's just say this,
John Washington wins the division. You know what that means.
(38:34):
I mean their first right now, I would be right
on a plus one thousand future plus one thousand future.
They I had them to win, And I was making
a point John on that episode they are plus one
thousand to win the division. All I'm saying is a
quarter of the way I'm looking right so far.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Do you think people have followed you on that?
Speaker 2 (39:00):
I mean, if they wanted to make money, that would
make up for all the other division winners that I
had that are gonna lose.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Well, I got news for you right now. If you
want to go take the Commanders to win the division
right now, you can get them at plus two forty.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Whoa wow, from plus a thousand, John, plus one thousand
down to plus two forty.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Well, if you really think they're gonna win, If you
really think they're gonna win, you can go do it.
By the way, what do you think the Chiefs are
right now to win the AFC West?
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Oh God, they have to be minus like four hundred
and fifty on DraftKings.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
They are minus eleven hundred. That's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
The Broncos.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
The Broncos are two and two and they're plus twenty
five hundred to win the division.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Insane. I mean, if we want to go to that
game now, John.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Because yeah, go ahead, you take them.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
These guys, these guys are frauds. Man Patrick maho Homes.
By the way, his last like, I forget what that
number was, they said today, his last like fourteen games.
His stats have been absolutely atrocious.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
His stats don't matter when they're winning games.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
So you're one of those guys. They're barely winning games, John,
you want to know why.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
The Stars you're trying to sit here and say that
he shouldn't be.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Four and oh they should not be four and oh
you know that, and I know that he's stunk it up.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
And they just lost their number one wide receiver. They
should have lost to the Falcons. They should have lost
to the Chargers, they should have lost to the Bengals.
You should have lost to the Ravens. They could be
zero and four. But guess what they're playing the Saints,
they're playing the Chiefs, They're playing the Raiders, and they're
gonna play the Bucks and at the end of that,
(40:56):
at the end of October. I'm telling you, John, I'm
telling you they're gonna be at the end of October
maybe five and two.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Oh So you think they're that you think they're one
and two or the next three weeks.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
Four weeks they have a bye one of the weeks.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Next three games is what I'm meant to say.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
But I think they're gonna finish out five hundred on
the season, John, I just do.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Man. Their division is terrible. That's one thing. That's one
thing you're not accounting for here. I look, if you
want to sit here and tell me that they're not
as good as they used to be and that they're
gonna lose games out of the division, I'm not going
to doubt you on that. They probably will lose games
out of the division. They only beat the Bengals by one.
The Ravens Week one they beat by a touchdown late. Uh,
(41:44):
But I mean their division. They've only played the Chargers
so far from their division one time. The other day
on the road they beat them. They have the Raiders
two times to go. They have the Broncos two times
to go and they have this, that, that, and uh,
the Chargers one more time at home. So it's they're
going to win probably all five of those games. And
(42:06):
if they win all five of those games, guess what,
they're already over five hundred.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
If they don't win all those let's say they go
three and two in those five games from where they
currently are, that would make their record seven and two
and they only went didn't need to win two more
to not be five hundred. And by the way, you
can't be five hundred anymore.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
I said, under five hundred.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Whatever, man, I'm just trying to get fired up.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
You know. You know why you are trying to get
fired up, because it's game time. It's what time, game time,
game game, game game time.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
It's always game time.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Dame time, game time. Baby.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
I don't think we should waste any talk about anytime
talking about the Ravens bills. I mean, the Ravens looked
really good. Derek Henry had it seven.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
They looked fast.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Yeah, they looked really fast. These two guys in the
backfield are ridiculous together.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Yeah, they I mean it's weird, though, John, because it's
some games you expect that that when the Ravens show
up like they did against the Bills, I expect them
to show up like that every week.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
Yeah in the league.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
If they did it, it's just crazy how much speed
these guys have for the Ravens. John and yeah, you
go and loose to the Raiders. You didn't look like
that against them. I'm telling you that much now, Like
that was a completely different team. So maybe they're gonna
be able to build off this with Buffalo. Allen looked horrible.
(43:44):
The whole team looked horrible. I don't know why they
weren't going forward on fourth and one from their own
forty in the first quarter after the Ravens or the
first half after the Ravens just marched down two times
in a row and scored. Thought, may you know what,
maybe we should go for here because it's gonna be
that kind of night where we need touchdowns and our
(44:06):
defense can't stop running nose. But I'm thinking, John, Bills
are gonna be okay, Ravens are gonna be okay. You
know it's not gonna be okay. The Dolphins, Miami Marlins, Yes,
the Marlins. Oh no, I said to Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
But I said, I said the Dolphins. You said the.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Marlins too, both trash organizations.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Uh yeah, I mean there. They started Tyler Huntley in
this game, and I don't know if you know the
final line he had passing yard number wise, it was
it was more than bon Nick's, but he didn't have
one hundred yards passing. He did rush for a touchdown,
the only touchdown the Dolphins scored in this game. But
this offense is night and day compared to Whintua is
(45:01):
healthy and playing. We saw what they were capable of
last year obviously, and then this year it's just been
a disaster since he's gotten hurt. I mean, basically, Tyreek
Hill might be the worst first round pick in fantasy
drafts ever based on his production so far this season,
which has been non existent because the fact they don't
have a guy to throw him the ball. I don't
(45:23):
know why they didn't go out and maybe try to
make a move for a better quarterback, and by that
I mean Ryan Tannehill, anybody else maybe then Thompson or
Tyler Huntley. Yeah, they should have kept Mike White probably,
but they didn't, and now he's on the Bills, and yeah,
the Dolphins are not gonna be Okay, the Titans are
not a very good football team, and let's face it,
(45:45):
Will Levis is terrible. I know that Mason Rudolph played
a lot of this game because Will Levis left with
an injury, but yeah, this was just not a good look.
And I feel bad for DeAndre Hopkins too, because he's
a guy who has, you know, been so good over
the course of his career. He has ten catches through
four games.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
I don't feel bad for it all. He knew what he
was getting into. John. You don't pick Tennessee with no
quarterback as your destination spot. That's that's on him, man,
That's on him.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
Fair enough. And then the final game of the weekend
was the other Monday night game. They had the Lions
and the Seahawks. Jared Goff was eighteen for eighteen in
this game and didn't get the game ball. Did you
hear about this? Of course, Yeah, pretty funny. Dan Campbell
gave out the game ball, and in his press conference
(46:37):
after he gave it to somebody else, and in his
press conference afterwards, somebody said to him, Jared Goff was
eighteen for eighteen or he perfect whatever. They said, that's
pretty impressive. And Dan Campbell was like, well, I just
gave the game ball to somebody else, so I didn't
realize he was perfect. But yeah, he said, an NFL
record eighteen of eighteen, two ninety two, two touchdowns. He
(46:59):
looked really, really good. Maybe the Lions defense you can
be nitpicky about the Seahawks hung around for a while.
This is the first game they lost. Actually, but what
do you make of this game? Because honestly, two teams
that came in pretty good played, in my opinion, a
pretty good game offensively specifically, but the Lions pulled away late.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
Lions are keeping it clean, John, you know, they're they're
scoring points on the offensive side. They have a really
good thing going for them. I kind of thought we
would see a little regression. You know, normally those teams
that are always trash have that one good year like
they did. Yet last year. I'm crashing down and burning.
(47:40):
Not this Lions team. They are. They're putting it together.
They're trying to make another run for the NFC championship game,
a super Bowl, I mean, and I wouldn't be surprised
if it's between them and the Vikings in the championship match.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
Ooh, A little prediction here early. Yeah, I could see that,
especially same division, and that'd be kind of cool. You
know what else is kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
Games?
Speaker 1 (48:11):
I think so. And we just finished talking about week four,
so you know what time it is.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Dame Tom.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
I was hoping you would just go right into the
guest that spread thing, but.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Oh, sorry, but it's trying to play guess that spread.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
All right, let's play guest that's spread. Uh, you've been
with for the last couple of years. You know how
this game works.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Randall, go ahead, alright, folks, I need John to guess
the spread of the Tall, the Mighty, the second coming
Trevor Lawrence Indy at Jacksonville over under passing yards.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
Lawrence Indy at Jacksonville. Uh, did you give me Trevor
Lawrence is one of these other weeks? Or did I
give him to you? Maybe?
Speaker 2 (49:10):
Who knows.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
I'm gonna say this number is gonna be in a
low two hundred somewhere. Um, let's go with two twenty
five and a half.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
Randall, Oh, two sixteen and a half. John, you were
so close, so close?
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Okay, all right, all right, I want you to give me.
This is a little bit of a revenge game. Here
for Sam Donald, he's playing against the Jets. Interesting, this
game is in London, so it'll be at nine thirty
on Sunday morning. But what is the over under for
Sam slam and Sam Donald coming into the sitch end?
Speaker 2 (49:50):
John, it's not only rivalry for him, but also Stefan
Diggs going back to Buffalo to play, so little.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
Just coment back to Minnesota too.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
Yeah, it's a little fun factor there. Uh, Sam Donald,
he's gonna be at two forty seven and a half.
That's high. That's high right there, that's really high. I
should have went in the two thirties, right at three.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
Even if you did two thirty three, you would have
been a little high. You should have used the exact
guess that I did, because it's two twenty four and
a half.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
The Jets defense is that good? My goodness, John.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
They just teld bo Nicks to sixty yards.
Speaker 2 (50:35):
Yeah, I guess they're taking that into account too, into
the rain, you know. Hell yeah, alrighty, John, give me
the rushing total four. Alvin Camara New Orleans at Kansas City.
I should get you on the board.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans at Kansas City. You think this
should get me on the board. Huh. He's been really good.
I mean he's found kind of found a little fountain youth.
He's been healthy, he's not in trouble with anything, so
he's not suspended to start the year. Who are they
playing again?
Speaker 2 (51:12):
Kansas City?
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Where is it in Kansas City? Yes, I'm gonna say
Kamar rushing is seventy two and a half.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
Ding ding ding seventy point five.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
You're well, okay, all right? Ran, jenerous guy.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
I'm a generous guy.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
R Indeed.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
I put it out there in the universe for you. Bro.
I appreciate you. I'm trying to help you.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
All right. Then this one becomes key because I don't
I don't appreciate you. I'm trying to win. I want
you to tell me the rushing yard total for our
new friend, not our new friend, but our friend. M Yeah,
why not. Let's do the Thursday night game. Bijon Robinson
(52:01):
is playing at Tampa. They're playing at Atlanta, Tampa Bay
at Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Fifty five and a half, John, give me something good.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
You are close but not there. Sixty two and a half.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Real, put me on bad Beats of the week with
that one. Shit, all right? Job Buffalo at Houston. Just
mentioned it. Revenge game, Stephan Diggs, what do you got
(52:47):
for me?
Speaker 1 (52:49):
Hmm, Steph Diggs. Where where is this game taking place?
I'm gonna say at home, Steph Diggs is resteven yards
he's got Nicocollins. I'm gonna say fifty five and a.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Half, sixty six and a half. John, you had a
good night, though you had a good night.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
All right, Well, this is for the win, because if
I can get you one that you don't get here,
I think that I got this. So I'm gonna go
with the guy that's had a really good start to
his NFL career. He's playing at San Francisco this weekend.
That would be Kyler Murray's new favorite target, Marvin Harrison Junior.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
John. He's he's been solid for him this year. Man,
I'm gonna say we're gonna be at like sixty three
and a half yards.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
There, Randall, Randall, Randall, Randall, sixty four and a half.
You got it, though, you got it. I did almost
tell that you almost had an exact y. So we
go one one win each there.
Speaker 2 (54:19):
Oh, beautiful beautiful John, who pressure was on and I
came up big.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
You sure did. That's why we play. Yes, that spread.
It's always fun, always fun, all right. That brings us
to hard locks, old locks. It was a little delayed there,
(54:47):
rand I thought you fell asleep on me. So Randall
and I both had decent weeks overall. I went twelve
or sorry, ten and six this week, after going twelve
and four last week. Randal was eight and eight, so
we finished five hundred. However, both of us finished one
and two in hard locks, so if you're keeping track
(55:08):
at home, Randall was doing really well in hard locks.
The first three weeks he was six and three. He
now moves to seven and five, which is still a
winning record for hard locks if you're looking at me.
On the other hand, I was three and six and
I also had a push in there week two, so
four seven. Yeah, I'm four to seven and one, so
(55:29):
not great. I do have plenty of time to rebound,
but you're definitely off to the better start when it
comes to the hard locks. However, I've been doing a
better job, especially the last couple of weeks, of picking
overall games. But that's not the way the hard locks works, Randal.
We know how it works. We get judged only on
the picks that we make public.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
That we do, John, that we do, and I mean
lines are starting to get a lot closer this week,
which is very interesting. Fun fact, Patriots are in a
quick them basically okay with the Dolphins, which is crazy.
But my first hard locker of the week, John, is
give me Buffalo minus one on the road. John, I
(56:10):
think the Bills are gonna bounce back from that horrendous
loss and they're gonna come ready to play.
Speaker 1 (56:19):
Okay, Bills is a good pick. I last week, as
you know, went with a different strategy. I went three dogs,
I only won one of the games. So I gotta
figure out a good strategy for this week. And I
think I'm back to just picking what I feel. I'm
not going to pick anything other than what i'm feeling now.
So I'm feeling pretty good about taking Washington minus three
(56:40):
here at home against Cleveland, a team that has just
been really inconsistent. Their defense has been fine but not great.
And Jade Daniels has shown in the early going that
he's pretty legit and he's the real deal. So give
me the Commanders minus three at home to win and
cover against the Browns without problem.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
I like that, John, I'm gonna go with an overreaction
to what the Ravens did last week. So give me
Cincinnati plus two and a half, all right. Their defense
is absolutely god awful right now, so I think it's
gonna be a high scoring game. A lot of points
gonna be scored there. But Joe Burrow, he's gonna be
(57:19):
scoring every single time as well. Give me since he
plus two and a half.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
I'll tell you what I'll give him since he plus three,
because that's what I'm seeing it right now. So you
can here, Oh, thank you.
Speaker 2 (57:28):
I appreciate joy.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
Isn't that nice?
Speaker 2 (57:31):
An honest man and a scholar.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Honest man and a scholar. Indeed, I'm gonna move on
to my next pick, and that's going to be the
Seattle Seahawks minus six. They're playing at home Sunday four
twenty five. It's a big spread, but I actually think
the Seahawks team is better than we're giving him credit for.
Coming into the year. They started three and oh they
lost to the Lions, obviously, but they're playing the Giants
(57:54):
here at home, the lowly Giants who are one in three,
who have to now go across the country to Seattle. Obviously,
It's going to be probably another Daniel Jones special where
they move the ball a little bit, but they ultimately
only score field goals, and a game where I think
Seattle can get on the board early and often. I
will take the Seahawks to cover a rather large spread
(58:15):
of minus six. In fact, I think it's the second
largest spread of the week, behind only the forty nine ers,
who were seven and a half point favorites over the Cardinals.
But I'll take it anyway. Give me the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
I like it. John. I'm gonna take Carolina had him
last week at plus four at home against a struggling
Cincinnati team. I'm still liking the way they're moving the ball,
even though they didn't cover that. Give me Carolina plus
three and a half against dab Bez. I don't think
that Caleb Williams is gonna continue to progress. I like
(58:47):
the way Andy Dalton's been sowing in the rock. Give
me Carolina.
Speaker 1 (58:51):
The Carolina Bears game is the whole. It's the two
matchups of the two teams that ended up being so
intertwined with that trade from years ago. Obviously, it resulted
in Caleb Williams being the first pick It's also resulted
in DJ Moore now being in Chicago. Pretty good, pretty
good stuff. I'm gonna go ahead and maybe shock the
(59:14):
universe here, and I think for the first time in
the history of this show, I'm going to take the
New England Patriots. Okay, it's basically a pick them. You
said it a few minutes ago. The Patriots aren't home.
They're playing the Dolphins. We've seen what the Dolphins have
done these last few weeks. The Dolphins got run out
(59:35):
of the building by the Titans yesterday or the other day.
I'm going to say that the Patriots are able to
win this game, and I don't think it's even gonna
be close. I think Jacoby Brissett doesn't have to do
a whole lot. I think Manre Stevenson will have a
good game, and I think the Dolphins will do what
they've done the last several weeks and lose the game themselves.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
My ears deceiving for many crickets.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Did I hear you?
Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Did I hear you? Did I hear you sniffling? There
were you tearing up a little bit?
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
I'm just wow, wow, wow.
Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
I was leaving it there for you. If you picked
them before that, I was gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Let you have. I was not gonna pick them. I
don't want to pick them this. Wow, yeah, but that Doesn'tfford.
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
Yes it does. And now that brings us to our
final game of the.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Night, John, it is time for guess.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
No word?
Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
All right? Do you know it? I know it. I
get a word or phrase, I use it, you use it?
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
All right, Well, there's only one guess I have tonight.
I'm trying to win this for the third straight week.
By the way, you won the first two weeks, I
wanted the last two weeks. Or sorry, you want the
first two weeks. I want it last week. I'm trying
to win it for the second straight week.
Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
No, this will be the third straight week.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
Would it be the third straight week?
Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
Yeah, episode, Yes, you're right, Okay, I only have one guess,
and it came when we were talking about Doug Peterson.
All right, you said something about Thanksgiving and then you
said sweet potato pie. I'm gonna go with sweet potato pie.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
What let's find out? Don This dude's gonna be getting
fired right as it's Thanksgiving time. I can smell the
sweet potato pie in the oven.
Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
Oh man, you thought you had me.
Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
I knew it, John, I got I'm getting tricky words
out here, man, Yeah, yeah, here, she gave.
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
You the that this already. It's not even November yet,
it's barely October.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
I'm John, you know what it is. Though, I'm gonna
be I gotta get better. I gotta go back to class.
I gotta start repping some things out. I'm just gonna
start shouting them out in the middle of sentences like
I'm gonna be continuing a conversation, say Ben and Jerry
and you know what I mean, and just keep on going.
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Just don't discourage yourself. It's not your fault. Okay, that's
what you need to remember.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
You're good. You're good. You're good. John, I'll give it
to you. Congratulations.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Thanks man. I've been on a nice little run here,
so hopefully I can keep moving. But I am officially
over five hundred on the year. I guess that word,
so congrass whatever we call it, Okay. So that brings
us to the end of the episode here, Randall, as
I always do, I will ask you if you have
(01:02:50):
anything that we didn't get to talk to you tonight
that you wanted to bring up or chat about at all,
you know, anything going on in your life that you
want to discuss.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
Yeah, John, and I would like to start a a
segment potentially maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe it's this right here,
but I want to I want to nominate you know,
remember we used to have the word. I had the
word booty cheeks and you're being like crazy ended up
being a word they gotta buy you. I want to
(01:03:21):
have a booty cheek Player of the Week or a
booty cheek Team of the Week, John, And this could
be where we nominate one or the other, or a
booty cheek Team of the month, booty cheeks player of
the I.
Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Mean from the previous game, right correct, from the previous week, From.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
The previous week you were texting, Yes, yes, I was.
There was a lot of players that have been stinking
it up, if you know what I mean. And this
this could be sponsored by dude wipes because you know,
just just putting it out there, because what's booty cheeks
and stinky? You want to get it cleaned up and
(01:04:03):
freshened up with a nice pair of dudees, don't.
Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
We don't have it yet, so just you know, why
don't you tell us who your booty Cheek Player of
the Week is John.
Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
My booty Cheek Player of the Week is gonna go
to a man that just keeps on losing and his
name Trevor Lore.
Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
I like it, I can, I'll confirm that I'll co
sign it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
He is our booty cheek stinking it upper of the Week.
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
I'm gonna give it to uh Kyle Pitts. You didn't
have I don't think any catches. Guy just disappears. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
He's a ghost.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
They did win though, So all right, well, Randle, that
I think brings us to the end of the episode.
We can bring booty Cheeks Player of the Week back.
I think it has a nice ring to it, so
we'll do it next week. If anybody has any submissions
for Bleaching Player a week and you can send them
in at call Randall. I'll give you a cellphone number
if you DM me. So Randall, go ahead and take
(01:05:11):
us home.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
My man, goodbye friend. It was a beauty cheek episode.
It's late at night, and don't get upright.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Sean and I are going to sleep now. You're going
to sleep. Now, sack for midnight out here, John, So
long friends, Noble Gobble.
Speaker 1 (01:06:00):

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
