(00:28):
excited because I haven't done one of these solo episodes
in a while.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Y'all.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
It's been quite some time, and I just feel like
there's been so much to share.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Well, one, I just want to say, if you've been.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Listening to the last couple of weeks, I've had some
amazing guests come on and share their testimonials and to
just be super transparent about the questions they've been asking
God in this season. And what can I say? This
just reminds me every single time when I sit and
talk to someone.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Why I do this.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
But more importantly, I'm just so grateful that the Lord
entrusted me to do this. Right, But I was like,
you know what.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
It's go time. It's go time.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
It's time for me to just talk about questions I've
been asking.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
God.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
If you've been follow along in this journey, then you
guys know that it has been quite a journey because
we are a hop skipping a jump away from meeting
baby Girl, and I have all of the things that
are going through my mind of excitement and joy and
(01:37):
just you know, the Lord's faithfulness just over my life,
but over my family and my husband and my daughter
and just all the lives that I just know that
she'll touch, you know, And that has just been something
I've just been sitting with for quite some time. But
I definitely just wanted to come by and share with
(01:59):
the Lord, to put it in my heart for the
last let's go, not even just the last couple of months,
but the last couple of weeks. There's just been a
different since or words shall I say, that's been coming up.
And the word that has been coming up has been authority.
(02:22):
And I felt as though the Lord had been highlighting
the word authority to me for quite some time, and
he had been you know, using that word through other people.
Rather it was friends families or even strangers. And then
recently my church had been going through a series and
(02:42):
the series wasn't just specifically on authority, but during the
aspect of the part of the weeks of teaching on authority,
it has really felt the Lord's nudge and the Lord's
pressing like this is for you, this is for you,
this is for you.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
So there are two visuals.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
That the Lord prompted me with and I really wanted
to share these visuals because I don't know if you've
asked the Lord recently questions in regards to authority or
what does that mean for you? What does that mean
to be a believer a daughter? And what kind of
authority do we actually have?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Right?
Speaker 1 (03:24):
And how do I access that? Is it something that's automatic?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Right? Is there something that.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I have to do in order to receive a different
level or layer of authority? And let me just be clear,
I'm no expert on this, no expert on this whatsoever.
I am being very honest that this is an area
that the Lord has been I don't want to use
the word grooming, but definitely teaching and edifying me.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
And so one of the visuals.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
That I got was I don't know if you guys
have ever watched this movie Ten Commandments, if you have
a If you have.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
It, no worries.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
It's a pretty old movie, but funny enough. I watched
a lot as a kid. And this is not because
I was raised in a Christian home, which was so funny,
Like the most we went to church, I want to say,
was probably Christmas, New Year's and Easter as a kid,
but for whatever reason, my mom would always have this
movie on I want to say, during Easter passover time,
(04:28):
so basically around this time every single year, and I
would watch it and be so engulfed by this movie.
Had very little context of what was happening, had very
little understanding of everything that was going on with Moses
and the Israelites and Pharaoh and the Red Sea. But
as a kid, I knew that this was something that
(04:51):
I truly needed to pay attention to, and it just
grabbed my attention as a child. Well you fast forward
to all these years later, and this story and that
visual still raps my attention.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
And recently, the Lord have been bringing this.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Movie and specifically a specific scene of this movie back
to my mind, and there's been so much talk and
so much chatter about all the different things that are
coming our way or have come our way, the things
that we are experiencing. M maybe it's financially, maybe it's politically, economically, socially,
(05:30):
there's just been so many things, from natural disasters to
random occurrences that just don't seem that random, and there's
just been a lot of talk.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
There's been a lot of talk since January.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
And I'm one of those people who are been very
mindful of what I'm consuming when it comes to, uh,
the news and commentary, cause I'm trying my best, y'all
not to have any commentary in this season. But one
of the things that I have been really prompting the
(06:03):
Lord because I'm seeing all these things and I'm like, Lord, okay,
is this just smoking mirrors? Like should I just not
pay attention because this just isn't real, Like this isn't
actually happening.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
This is just fear that other people are now taking
on because it's everywhere.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
It's on every channel, it's on every single conversation, it's
every single social media post, there is another update about
what is going on in our nation and in our world.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
But is it actually is a fact? Right? Is it happening.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Should we be on alert, should we be alarmed by
what we've seen? Right?
Speaker 2 (06:42):
And listen, listen.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
You know, this is why I say it's important to
ask the Lord questions, because when I ask him, the
Lord is so kind and so gracious to respond. And
he brought me back to the Israelites. And he brought
me back to when the Israelites were actually still in Egypt,
and Moses was basically going to Pharaoh on behalf of
(07:08):
the Israelites because God had sent him to say, hey,
let my people go. And if Pharaoh's heart was hardened,
so the Lord began to send plagues upon Egypt.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Now this is the thing, right, this is the thing
in my mind.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
I am processing the fact that the Lord knew the
Pharaoh was gonna harden his heart. If we read the scripture,
the Lord already knew this. The Lord knew that he
was gonna send plagues. The Lord knew also that the
Israelites were gonna be released. The Lord knew that they
were gonna go free. But the Lord allowed the Israelites
(07:51):
to witness.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
The judgment.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Okay, listen, allowed them to witness the judgment that he
had for the people that were unwilling to obey his command.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
And one may say, why would the Lord allow the
Israelites to experience any of this? Like the Israelites truly
became God's chosen people, like God loved the israel You
see this throughout scripture, right, But the Israelites witnessed the
(08:35):
judgment of God. It did not say that they were
blinded to the plagues. It did not say that their
eyes did not see what was happening. It did not
say any of that. They witnessed what was happening. And
then snapshot too when I said that the Lord brought
(08:55):
me back to the clip the movie.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
There's a part.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
In this movie and as a kid, it can be
very scary, but I mean maybe even as an adult
it could be kind of like, wait what, But there
was the executive order for Passover when the spirit of
death was gonna come and kill the firstborns.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Right, But the.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Lord had told his people to put blood on their door,
and that spirit of death went pass by their door.
And if you have seen this movie then you know
exactly what I'm talking about. So it looks like it
was this black uh cloud that was like literally going
(09:40):
from house to house to house to house, and it
would go inside the house if it didn't have blood
over it, and it would come out and go inside.
But then when it would approach a door that had
blood on it.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
It would just pass by.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
And I just really felt the Lord's peace, and I
s I'm sharing this story to encourage you, encourage you
in a season so where maybe you're saying, Lord, it
is hitting everyone and everything around me, how do I
know that you're with me? And I just felt the
(10:17):
Lord so sweetly, gracious, graciously say to.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Me, it will pass by your house.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
And one, I was just like in awe that the
Lord gave me that comfort in that moment as I
pose this question. Two, it was also the reality that
(10:48):
we are in a season, in a state where there
is judgment among us. Right there, they're the things that
we're witnessing and seeing is not smoking mirrors. That doesn't
mean that everything that's being said is factual. I'm not
getting into who, what when, If it's for if it's
for claics, if it's for babe. I'm not talking about that,
But I'm talking about spiritually, supernaturally, what we're seeing happening
(11:13):
in front of our eyes right now is happening, but
as a daughter, as a son of the Most High,
for someone that is obeying the word of God, for
those who are submitted and surrendered, and says, Jesus, you
(11:34):
are Lord of my life. I just have to truly
believe that there is a grace and a mercy on
us that is so supernatural for us to fathom to
where we just have to, inhumility, in his grace and
in his kindness, thank Him for allowing it to pass
(11:58):
by our house. It is not mean that we won't witness.
It does not mean that we won't experience some level
of grief of seeing what is happening to our brother
and to our brothers and sisters to the world right.
(12:19):
But once again, and probably one of the most sensitive
seasons of my life, and if you listen to last
week's episode, I said, this pregnancy has been one of
the most sanctifying seasons of my life because it has truly,
truly humbled me in a way to say, Lord, I
am solely dependent on what you say, when you say it,
(12:43):
how you do it, and I am in a constant
state of repentance and a constant state of posturing myself
to hear from.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Him, but.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
For the Lord just to give me it will pass
by your house. I am in awe of his kindness
and his grace, and I'm sharing that with you because
I also do believe that I'm not just this special
person that he just said it's only for you.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I don't believe that.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
I believe that that is a word for so many
of us, and I pray and I.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Hope that that encourages you.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
So I really wanted to start off this episode with
a word of encouragement, a word of assurance that your
father has you, he has not forgotten you, that he
sees you. But it is very important to take key
to his word. You know, in this time of the season,
it is very important to listen more to what he's
saying than what culture is saying, even sometimes your own
(13:42):
community is saying.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Right.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
And I'm going to get into like that next bit
as well, because that was the other part that I've
been processing. I've been I've been with the Israelites this season, y'all.
It was just so interesting. You would think I'll be
some where with Elizabeth Ruth, Sarah, you know, you know,
(14:08):
you think, like being pregnant, that I would just really
be drawn to those types of stories, you know, the
stories that I'm looking at other women, just their womans
be blasted or just to shine as a mom. But
it's just so interesting and so funny how God does it.
But in this season he's like, no, no, I want
you to actually study the relationship that I have with
(14:30):
the Israelites. And that brings me to when I say,
sometimes you have to be able to even silence the
noise from those around you to really hear the Lord, because.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
We see in the text.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Let's fast forward, right, let's fast forward after the Israelites
have been released, They've been freed from bondage and slavery.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
We know this, this happens.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
This is past the Red Sea, this is now. Now
they are on their journey to the promised land that
the Lord promised them, right flowing with milk and honey.
This is where we're going. And throughout this journey, y'all,
(15:18):
this so good. Throughout this journey we see probably we
definitely know forty years in the wilderness, but even before
they probably got to that part, right from the time
they left Egypt all the way until the time they
(15:40):
finally made it into the Promised Land. The commentary is
beyond beyond okay. And I say this because when I say,
sometimes you have to be able to silence the.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Noise or.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Just the over commentary of people around you, because we
see how much these people had so much to say
about so many different aspects of their journey, the amount
of complaints they had for Moses, you know, their their fears,
their worry, their anxiety.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
They were very very very very.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Vocal about their fear, their worry, their anxiety throughout their
entire journey. The Bible says they murmured and complained, But
how we can hear that as like, well, we're not
really murmurers, we won't really complain, but we can really
be very vocal about our worries, our anxieties, our fears,
(16:45):
our traumas, the tragedy that we experienced, our disappointment on
the journey path to the Promised Land.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
There's that, and we witness that.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
So this brings me to the question that I have
for the week for you, and it's actually in reference
to what held the Israelites in the wilderness so long
before reaching the Promised Land.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
And the Lord highlighted this for me and I've heard
this story so many times.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I love when he does this to me to where
it's kind of like you know the story and you
think that you've gotten everything you need out of the story,
and then the Lord humbles you and says, but there
is a part that you are glazing or maybe you know,
just glancing over very quickly. But there is something very
important about this part of the story that I want
(17:37):
you to not only read, but to meditate on and
have this conversation with me so I can show you something.
And the thing that he showed me was not just
how long that Israelites stayed in the wilderness. I don't
(17:58):
we talk about this. What should I've been an eleven
day journey? He ended up being forty years. We talk
about this, and we talk about how good God is
is that he provided for them every single day in
the wilderness. But the Lord didn't have me focus on
that part of the story this time.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
The question that was posed to me that I'm posing
to you is.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Do you allow the size of the giant to dictate
your path forward to the Promise?
Speaker 2 (18:38):
And when I first thought about this question, I'm like, well, Lord,
I ain't really doing going.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Too many giants you know what I'm saying, like, this
isn't what I'm dealing with at the moment. But I
really sat back and I thought about it, because I
thought about the fact of that when the Israelites were
in the wilderness and when they wanted to move forward
to get into the promised land, that God, God Almighty,
(19:06):
the same one who just parted the Red Sea, the
same one that got him out of bondage and oppression,
that same God said hey, a right there, right over
the brush.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
I mean you can see it. That is your land.
I am giving that to you.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
That is yours, where your family from generation to generation
to generation will be wealthy, well, I mean, will be healthy.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
All the things. So what would keep you in the
wilderness that long?
Speaker 1 (19:41):
And when I thought about it, I was like, oh,
not only was it the fear of the giants, but
it was a constant talk about how big and how
many giants there were. And I want you to rock
with me on this, because you ever find yourself talking
(20:02):
about the same issue, the same problem, the same person
that just can't seem to get it together, and you know,
every time you talk about it, the problem looks worse
and worse, or the person starts looking worse or worse,
and you start really just becoming so detached away from
(20:26):
what the original word from God is.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
See.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
I believe that the Israelites got so detached from the
original word of God because the only thing they kept
talking about was them dagone giants, how many, how big,
that they stopped talking about the land that was flowing
(20:50):
with milk and honey. That was no longer what they
spoke of. It was no longer encouragement that they were
sharing to one another, no longer declaring to one another
what the Lord had spoken over them. I don't even
know if they were remembering what they just came out of,
(21:13):
but everything had to do with the fear they had
with moving forward because of how big those giants were.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
And it really made me think that.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Sometimes the only authority that we have is the best
authority that we have, and that is God's word. Do
you know how much authority there is in knowing and
believing God's word? See, when we think about authority, sometimes
I think that we think about this supernatural power that
(21:49):
we have to know things and to do things and
to become things. But what I've learned is that the
Bible said is that it's not by our might or
our power, but it is by His spirit. So if
the word of God is Holy Spirit breathe, then the
best authority that I will ever have is knowing his word,
(22:15):
believing his word, and activating his word in my life
every single day. So when it comes to the promise
that the Lord gives us, when it comes to asking
(22:38):
the Lord, are you still going to do it? Are
you still with me? Did I do something wrong? Did
I miss a step? Is this the right position? Is
this the right person? Is this the right time?
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Can I tell you.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
His word is a lamp under your feet? And every
time I just remember his word, every time I just
confess his word, every time I pray his word, there
(23:21):
is another level of authority that I believe is unlocked
and unleashed. And with that authority comes confidence because you
start seeing his.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Word come to pass.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
And let me be clear, I'm not talking about his word,
I mean our way coming to pass. I mean his
word coming to pass. I'm not talking about our wish
coming to pass. I'm talking about His will coming to pass.
I think that's when you get confident in who your
God is, and that's when you get confident in exactly
who you are. That is the authority that I truly
believe that we as sons and daughters need to have
(23:55):
right here, right now, and in this season. I don't
care if you're single, married, I don't care if you
are currently expecting, if you are sitting and waiting, I
don't care if you are a students still at home,
or if you are single and divorced and asking the Lord,
are you gonna do it again?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
For me?
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Can I tell you something? There is an authority that
we have in this season and this time to believe
what God said about us the first time, to believe
the first time.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
When I think about.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
The Israelites, I think about it was a long journey
for them from being slaves to being free to being
in the Promised Land. They didn't go from slaves to
the promise. I wasn't gonna say process, but I feel
like that was too many peace and I feel like
that was just doing too much. I just was like,
let me digress, but let me just say this a
(24:54):
lot of times we forget, like we can go from
being oppressed, and in that oppression, the Lord gives us
a word. He gives us a word when we're in bondage,
when people say, how did you get free?
Speaker 2 (25:12):
How did you get delivered?
Speaker 1 (25:14):
By His spirit, by his word? That is how it happens.
That is how it's happened for me every single time.
That's how I've seen true freedom.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
In my life.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
It was by His spirit, by his word. He gives
us a word while we're still in a season or
a time to where we feel like we're in bondage.
And let me tell you what happens when His word,
(25:46):
which is truth, becomes true to us. There is a
breakage that you feel off of you. There is a
renewing that happens that the lie can't stand against the truth.
The lie can't stand against the word of God. The
question for the Israelites was not were they're giants? The
(26:10):
question for the Israelites is that do you believe God
to be faithful?
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Do you believe God to be true?
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Even if they're giants, who's to say they want to
got out your way?
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Come on, come on, who's to say that they just?
You know, the Bible says you for this, the devil
he'll flee from you. Listen. That doesn't mean that the
devil won't.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Approach you, but he will flee when you resist him,
when you realist his schemes. Or are we allowing the
size of giants to straight up rob us of receiving
God's promise? So as we are moving into the season
(27:05):
of Passover in easter and spring, and it's a new season,
and there's a lot of change happening for a lot
of people, right you see it all over the place.
There's a lot of moving parts happening. But can I
tell you something. There is something that will always remain,
(27:27):
always remain, no matter this season, and.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
That is His presence.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
And I just think that it's very important to ask yourself,
are you allowing fear to.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Rob you.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
From what the Lord has promised you? Cause his promises
are yes and amen. His word does not come back void.
He has never failed. We are victorious in Christ. But
(28:18):
if we are sitting and murmuring and complaining and sharing
stories of the what ifs and what can happen and
all of the fi all of the things that just
aren't honoring to who our Father in Heaven is, there
is no wonder while we would sit and stay in
(28:41):
oppression and depression and anxiety and just stuck in our
own way. So I wanna end this episode on just
praying with you guys, And it wasn't planning. Hopefully this
(29:02):
didn't sound like preaching. These are just real questions that
I have been bringing to the Lord and his real
revelation that he's been giving me as I've been navigating
the season of preparing to become a mom, but also
(29:23):
at the same time understanding that my role as his
daughter does not change, if anything. Becoming a mom has
motivated me more to really want to understand my father
and his plans and his ways and his thoughts.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
And his heart for me, you know, and for my daughter.
So even if you're not a mom and.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
But you are a struggling to figure out what's been
holding you up, I have to tell you before I pray,
I had always thought that us having a girl first
was really for my husband, and I just really had
(30:19):
this andse of, oh, that's so cute and sweet for him, Yeah,
that'd be great.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
For him to have a girl first.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
And one day I just really felt the Lord say,
I gave you her first for you because there's still
some aspects of you understanding the love I have for
you being my daughter. So I'm going to give you
first hand experience on what that kind of love feels like,
(30:51):
so that you know how much I love you.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Because I love her and I love you the same way.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
And I wept in that moment. I repented in that
moment that how beautiful that is. But also, Lord, how
could I have not have fully understood my my call
(31:23):
just to be your to be your kid and all
of that that entails and embodies. So that's my prayer
for you this week, that you just know Him in
a different kind of way. And it's not by your work, mkay.
(31:49):
It truly is by his grace and his love for
you that he wants you to spend time with him. So,
Father God a name of Jesus, I just thank you
for this opportunity. I thank you for this opportunity for
every single person that's listening on the other end, that
(32:09):
they may feel you in a different kind of way
this week. Thus, as we enter into Passover, as we
enter into Easter Week, that Lord, that your presence would
just be so tangible for us and our home and
in our hearts and our lives and in our families. Lord,
(32:31):
that we repent for not but leaving you the first
time of how much you love us and how much
you see us and how much you're for us, and
we just ask that in this season that you just
give us a different level of authority that we may
