(01:04):

(01:33):
We're gonna be talking about his journey, his inspiration, the
creative process that he goes through, you name it. Clinton
Mall is an award winning director, actor, and playwright. He
began his directing career in twenty eighteen with his debut
production Finding Me in Saint Louis, Missouri. So since then
he has produced over ten shows, including audience favorites like

(01:58):
What a Vacation, Different Shoes, Mama, you name it, and
he's been producing it. So I'm excited that his background
in acting and having Best Director Award in the ACE
Awards and all kinds of things that have brought him
to be who he is today. So I'm really glad
to have Clinton Diverse Maul right here on the Kim

(02:19):
Jacobs Show today talking about God Answer me, God Answer me.
So that's what we're gonna be talking about. So everybody
make sure you tag your friends and invite people to
be a part of our conversation today. Have you ever
had a situation where you just needed God to answer you.
That's what we're gonna be talking about. Got to preach

(02:41):
right there? You know that Clinton?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Right, I know right, that's a halleluh moment.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Absolutely yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I was really what I was in life. I need
you got to answer me. So that's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Well, what I'm gonna do is, I'm gonna play a
commercial and I'm gonna put you backstage for a second
because the Internet is kind of glitching and that happens
sometimes on even international broadcast. So don't no stress, no worries,
but I'm gonna put you backstage and let you get
everything situated and pull you back on in a few seconds.
All right. So everybody, as we are talking today, I'm

(03:21):
talking again. I'll you know what I'll do. I'll just
take a moment to let you all know about something
that's happening on October. I'm gonna pull this up. Gabe's
Heart is very near and dear to my heart. Many
of you all know. Gabe's Heart Foundation is in honor
of my twelve year old son that transitioned from this

(03:43):
earth when he was the age of twelve years old
and had sett in cardiac arrests, and so it's my
heart's desire to see everybody be able to have access
to a defibrillator. And defibrillators are so critically important because
without those doesn't give paramedics the chance to be able

(04:05):
to get to the situation to perform the life saving measures.
So we raise funds in part for defibrillators to be
placed in public spaces where young people congregate. That's one
of the big moves or pushes for Gabe's Heart Foundation.
So Gabe'sheardfoundation dot org is where you can learn a

(04:27):
lot more. We have. Our five K Walk is coming up,
and I'm going to pop it up on the screen
here to let you see now the way that it
comes up with me here, it'll be like my hands
are still showing. So I'm just gonna remove myself and
just share a couple of things with you, Okay, So,

(05:14):
Gabe's Heart Foundation, our goal is to have every heartbeat
continued to count by allowing Gabe's hard to just continue
to beat here on this earth by providing these defibrillators
that are being placed in public spaces. Our five K
Walk is taking place on October eighteenth this year. October
eighteenth at eight o'clock am in Concord, North Carolina at

(05:39):
Northwest Caberis Middle School Track. And so you can go
to Gabeesheartfoundation dot org and be able to go ahead
and get registered for the five k walk. And I
have a way that you can follow us on social
media anywhere at Gabe's Heart Foundation on social media platform.

(06:09):
All right, So I want you all to make sure
you stay connected with Gabe's Heart Foundation. And you can
do that on Facebook, you can do that on x
and you can also do it on Instagram. So those
are the ways that you can stay connected with Gabe's
Heart Foundation. And many times people say, well, how do
I donate to Gabe's Heart I want to be able

(06:32):
to support the organization, but really don't know how to
go about doing that. If you visit Gabe'sheartfoundation dot org,
that's one of the ways that you can donate right
there on the site. You can also donate through PayPal,
dot me, forward Slash Gabe's Heart Foundation. Another way to
donate is through givlify and that's Gabe's Heart Foundation as well.

(06:56):
And if you have any questions you would like to
learn more, you can email me Kim at Gabesheart Foundation
dot org and let me know Clinton when you're ready
to come back in, because I know you are on
your phone back there driving. Okay, all right, so I'm
gonna pull you back in and we're gonna go ahead
and get started with our conversation. Can you hear me?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Okay, Clinton, Yeah, I can hear you. Fine, can you
hear me?

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yes? This is perfect. So being right there, just park
that car and let's roll right.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
I'm parked. I'm parked. I had, I said, I parked
in the office, but they had less signal in the office.
I said, let me drive down the roll Soon I
go down the road, I had all my bars, so
I said, that's where we at.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
That's that's where we at. And you know what, I
promise you and y'all that are tuning in, you understand
this that with CNN and all of these international, nationally
syndicated shows, guess what if something happens, they keep it
moving like Okay, we're gonna keep right on going and
no editing. We just rock and roll. So that's what's happening.
We're gonna we're gonna go ahead and get started. Talk
to us. If you will I know you have a

(07:53):
really big project. Well, first of all, I like to
just find out you've been acting since you were in
twenty twelve. When I read and started directing in twenty eighteen,
what first drew you into the world of even theater
and storytelling?

Speaker 2 (08:12):
So, to be honest with you, all, was always a
character as a kid. I always used to play with
my toys, my Ninja turtles and stuff and make them
act in my room. I think every kid did that before,
but I never really thought I had any talent with it,
and so I was into music more. I was into

(08:33):
poetry more, and to break my nerves down before I
did any type of poetry on the stage, I used
just to make people laugh, right. And when I got
off stage one day, this lady's like, look, I got
to play that I would love for you to be
in there. I got a character I think that you
would be awesome for I'm like, I ain't never act before,
she said, but just do what you just get on

(08:53):
the stage when it comes to audition. And when I
did it, they picked me and I was like, okay,
you know, and my first rehearsal I fell in love.
I was like, that's just for me. This is where
I belong.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
So you didn't even know that was your gift or
your talent, and somebody else saw something inside of you
that you didn't even know existed.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
No, no, no, you know. I had people tell me,
you know, you a character all my life because I'm
just a goofy person. I jump into a character just
to make a person laugh, but not think noting of it.
I just thought it was just me being goofy, you know, right.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
And usually when people say that, unfortunately, and you can
tell me if that was how you took it back
in your day, when people talk about, oh, you're just
a character or whatever, they sometimes that's like with a
negative undertone to it.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Correct, right, right, So you just never you just never
really know, you know. So it's like, Okay, you're just
saying it because I'm being goofy right now, I'm trying
to do something. But when I actually took it seriously
and seen the artist's response walking up to me and saying,
oh my god, I loved your character. Oh my god,
I can watch you any time when the next show

(10:02):
that you're going to be in, I said, oh, I
might have some here, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
That's good. I get it, and I'm grateful that that person.
Do you still stay in contact with that person or
have you because you're referencing the person now on this show.
Is there any kind of way that you've ever told
them the impact that they made in your life?

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Yes, yes, yes we still Facebook friends. They watch me
do certain things that she's actually producing. Still in Saint Louis,
Missouri's where I originally from. So Phoenix Bell, Phoenix Bell.
You know what I'm saying. It's the same mood, like
i'd give her a prop because if she didn't reach
out to me, I wouldn't I wouldn't say I wouldn't
be here because whatever God's plan is God's plan. But

(10:41):
he helped, he put he made it happen. He made
the connection happen.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Oh my God. And she's in Saint Louis right, Yes,
that that that right there is special. And people don't
know how much of an impact they have on a
person's life until stuff like this comes to passing. Like, see,
you were making a difference and you weren't even intentionally
trying to. All you were trying to do was just
support somebody and let the person know that you believed

(11:08):
in them, but then you didn't know the impact it
was going to have on that.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Individual, you know, right right right.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
That's kudos to you, miss Phoenix Beil. I appreciate you
believing in this young man because it obviously made a
tremendous difference for those of you that are just tuning in.
I want to make sure that you know we are
welcoming Clinton Mall. Who oh, I should have put his
I should have put your Yeah, is Clinton diverse Mall?
That's what his stage So we'll correct that because we

(11:36):
want to make sure that we have diverse factored into
that name. What made that be your stage name? Diverse?
Tell us about that.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
So by me having so much experience in different industries
as far as poetry, for as music, for as acting,
some of the background stuff, people are like, dude, you're
a jack of all trade. What can you not do?
And I think it was my approach to everything the
way I approached I never approached it the way that

(12:08):
it's I guess supposed to be approaching, right right. So
they were like, dude, you're so different, and they kept
hearing different, different, different. So one day, to be honest
with you, I was looking up different ways to stay different,
and diverse came up and I'm like, I like that,
you know, I think.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Yes, come through diverse because I think that that definitely
lends to what you do and who you are, and
in a nutshell, it encompasses everything. So that's a good
A good stage name diverse, diverse. How are you? That's good? Yeah,
that's real good. So now when you debuted your first production,

(12:48):
which is Finding Me, and how did that come to life?
And and what what did that overall project teach you
as you were doing your first time director directorial debut.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well, it taught me that I ain't know what I
was doing that it taught me do your research. Anybody's
trying to get into theaters. Before you jump in, do
your research to find out if this is for you
or not. Man, thank god that I had people that

(13:23):
loved me that didn't, you know, judge me too hard
off my first show. But I had lights. I was
working my lights and my sound with a little button
and I had it in my pocket. While I was
on stage. I was clicking the button to cut the
light off so I could walk off stage. Oh my god.
And I walked off stage and forgot to cut my

(13:46):
mic off because I don't know these things. I'm telling
the next people, I'm like, yes, Tima, you get on
stage and this, and the people in the audience say, hey,
we hear you, and we can.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Hear you, and God for Big Clinton that Diverse, God
forbid you in the bathroom or something.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
You know.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
You don't even know.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Your man, So it was it was just hilarious. And
then I didn't know how to build a set. I
did all of this my first show. I built my
own set. I did my owns down, I did my
own life. And so they heard me. My lights was
flickering off and on, and then not only that, one
of my walls was falling in the middle of the play.

(14:26):
But when I tell you, let God be God. Because
the play was so good that no one even remember that.
They was like, man, we just remember you had a
good show.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
That's all. And you know what, people always remember how
you made them feel. They may not remember all the
other details and nuances, but how you make that person
feel is something that they'll walk away remembering forever. So yes, well, yes,
that goes along again with that name Diverse, right, yes.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Yes, yes, yes. The next night, I got back because
we did two nights. So the second night we did
so much better. I had people come in that was
in the audience from the first night, like, what do
you need. I'm willing to help. You got a great show,
you just need a little help. So they came in
the second night and we ran a perfect show almost,

(15:17):
so it gave me the feel of how it's supposed
to be ran. And somebody stood up in my show
and said this show touched my heart? Do you know me?
And I'm like, that's a weird question. No, I don't
know you. She's like, you sure you don't know me.
She starts to saying her name and some of her
family member's name. I'm like, no, I really don't know you.
Why are you asking me this? Because she said, you

(15:40):
you just wrote my story. Finding me is me. She's like,
even the characters, like all the way down to the characters,
that's my story. And I'm like, oh, okay, well, I'm
sorry I don't know you, but thank you for you know,
allowing me to know that I'm following my gifts. Because
finding Me was a dream at first that wouldn't go

(16:03):
away until I started writing it down.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
So I am. I'm glad that So that person feels
like you customize the whole show to their pain, their
issues that they were dealing with in life, and you
never even encountered that person. So that's when you know
that you're making a tremendous difference in this world, you know. Yes,

(16:25):
So y'all, I see you putting your comments over here.
I'm gonna make sure I pop them up throughout the broadcast.
Make sure you all put your comments. Put your comments here,
and then also tag a friend. I see you, Marcus Scott,
how are you today? Speaking of which I have I
think a clip with him.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
In it, right, Yeah, I got a clip with him.
He's actually another he's playing another pasta. He's gonna be
a pastor player ever now, but he's playing a pastor
pretty much just going through everything. But he never loses fate,
you know what.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
I've seen his acting and it touches your heart at
a whole different level. And the funny thing is, are
you sure you're just playing let me put my glass aside.
Well you sure you're just playing at the pastor? Marcus Scott?
You never know. Sometimes we think we plan, but really
it's some extra gifting going on in there, so I
don't want to start profit sign over you buddy, I'll

(17:23):
just leave it at that. Okay, but hello, we see
and the see Vivian said, good morning to you both.
Good morning, Vivian, glad to have you all. Make sure
y'all share this with all of your cast members, your friends, colleagues,
Let people know that we're here on The Kim Jacob Show,
bringing balance to your household, one household at a time,
so when we're bringing balance to the whole world. Actually,

(17:45):
because The Kim Jacob Show is now streaming in one
hundred and forty countries and so thank god, isn't that
a shout out in ct R Media Network. You can
download on the self improvement channel the Kim Jacob Show,
and it's right on Roku, Fire TV, Android and all
of those platforms in over one hundred and forty countries.

(18:06):
So make sure you take advantage of seeing you wherever
you get your your listening devices, on iHeartRadio, you name it,
the Kim Jacobs Show is there now. So very grateful
for that. So okay, so we're gonna talk. I'm trying
to make sure I go kind of in order, but
I'm all very interested in every part of you and
your creativity diverse. So you've produced now over ten shows,

(18:30):
if I'm not mistaken, right, Yes, Now, how did you
How did you decide which of those stories to tell?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
God? God, It's always a time then to every show,
and I reason why I feel like I had the
success that I have. I don't like to just put
anything on. I try to research what's going on in
the world, what people are yearning for. Yeah, I research

(18:59):
people paster, like when Facebook say what's on your mind? Man,
when people write that, they really, you know, speaking from
their heart at that time. So once I read some
things and I pray on it and God put something
on me, I go with it. I go with it.
So at the time of finding me, I was literally
trying to find myself in my place into this world. Okay,

(19:20):
it's really about the timing and what God put on
my heart.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
I'm glad you said that because a lot of times
I know whenever I preach the word of God, he
ministers to me first. And so I'm sitting in my
room or at my desk and I'm crying, I'm taking notes.
I'm like, oh gosh, this is what applies to me.
So it always helps me first before I ever share
with God's people. And so that is similar to the

(19:46):
directing debut stuff that happens with you with playwrights.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Yes, yes, it happens just like that. I mean sometimes
I can be sitting still for too long having wrote
something and too long and I start having these crazy
dreams again, and I'm like, man, I wake up in
the middle of the ninty like what if that that's
a dream? And most people say when they have a
deep dream, they wake up and they can't remember certain
things of the dream. But minds be so vividly. I

(20:14):
can remember every detail and I can. The dream for
me will repeat itself over and over again, not like
day by day. But it's just a pop.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
Up on me.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
And until I write it down. The moment I start
writing it down, it goes away. I never dream it again.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
And so that's God's way of saying, I'm trying to
put something in your heart, in your spirit. I want
you to do something with this. Don't just let it
lie dormant and sit nagging on the inside of your dreams.
Get it out to the world that I'm using the world.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Wow, get it out to the world.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
So you know what, you're really confirming a lot of
what God has been sharing with me. For the whole
theme for twenty twenty five with our church is you
are necessary. You know, get going because you're necessary. You're
required to be able to have some of the things
that God has purpose for the world to benefit from.
It's gonna happen through you. Yes, yes, I'm glad so

(21:12):
with you. You you have answered the call and said
yes in your own ministerial way.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Right, yes, yes, yes, I can't ignore of that no more.
I said, Okay, I'm kind of having these dreams back
to back. I want a new dream, so let me
just go and write it down and be obedient.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Now, everybody, everybody has like a directing style or I
know I talk a lot about ministry, so it's like
a preaching style, talkshow host style, whatever, what's your style
of how do you pull out the best of people
that you're working with that's on your cast.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
I like to do a lot of exercises. We do
this thing where we do the five. We do one, two, three, four,
five for every limb of our body, just to shake
off everything that the world has brought us that day.
And so when we do that, and then I kind
of just go in. I just want to go in.
I want to see what the characters can bring out
themselves naturally, and then once I see what level they on,

(22:07):
meet them where they at and then just kind of
push them close to the vision as I can.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
So.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
But I am an actor as well, so my director
style allows me to be a little different in that
way because if you don't know what I'm saying, I
can show you what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
That's leading by example. So you're actually saying follow me,
and by case, I say follow me as I follow Christ.
But you're saying follow me as I'm acting this thing out.
And I'm telling you what I expect, how motivated, how down,
whatever the different emotions are. You may see me trying
to be dramatic. It's because I've actually done a little
bit of acting myself. I know, I never thought I

(22:49):
was an actress at all, but trying to bond with
one of my children, I ended up I ended up
doing some acting with him, and he went through MSS
Vicki Evans training. He went through her training on how
to become an actor and stuff. So this son of
mine is the one that that kind of encouraged me
to bond as a parent by being able to go

(23:13):
in an audition for different parts and plays. One play
audition for it was I was Sidney Poitier's mom and
guess who's coming to dinner?

Speaker 2 (23:21):
So I was okay, yeah, yeah, I like that.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
But I don't proclaim to be the actions. But okay,
so Clinton, you you pull out the best in people
by formally using yourself as an example to say, this
is what I expect. If they get it and grab
hold to the concept. Great, if they're missing a little
piece here or there, you're saying, let me show you,

(23:45):
because I know exactly what.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I'm looking for exactly, let me show you. Because when
I don't, I am a one on directly, I can
open up a little bit. But when it comes to
certain parts, when I know this is the vision, like
this is the vision the reason why I even roll
to play, I don't stir away from that. You gotta
get that part right. You got to get it to
that level where I need it to be. So that's

(24:09):
where those are the part when I jump in and
show them like it could be emotional part, it can
be anger. I gotta show them. I gotta show them
if they can't tap in. And and then so me
having a background in therapy, I also give people a
way to tap in that most directors may ask you something,
but they don't give you how to do it right.
So I did an exercise with one young man and

(24:31):
I told them close your eyes and speak the first
emotion you can think, anger, I said, And don't open
your eyes until you can feel what anger feels like.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Right, that's good.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
When we went through those emotions and stuff like that,
he said, oh, that's that feels weird. I think because
one thing you got to understand is your body in
the physical world don't know what's real, wants you your
mind start to think it. Right, So what acting is
if you can put yourself in that mindset, your body
will follow that.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
That's right. Anything, So somebody that could be literally thinking
in terms of when they have that emotion, and all
of us can do this exercise. When we close our eyes,
we have an emotion that immediately comes to mind. And
so for me, for example, an emotion that came to
mind is joy, and so the emotion that came to

(25:25):
mind is joy. But then making sure that when I
open my eyes. I'm living out the thing that I'm envisioning.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Yes, yes, yes, the thing is by closing your eyes,
it shuts you off from your worldly vision and put
you in a spiritual ram. So when you are speaking
that emotion, your mind is a computer, so it's going
to start giving you images of the emotions that you're

(25:53):
speaking in your mind. So if you're saying, if you're
saying joy, joy, you start saying things that makes you
joyful in your mind, and then you open your mind
and you just stay there. You open your eyes, I
mean and just stay.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
There, right.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
I know what you're saying. That's good. So then you
can start living out the thing that you're envisioning. And
because of your therapy background, then that you're able to
teach people how to tap into that better. So y'all
we are. I mean, first of all, if y'all have
not connected with Clinton Diverse Mall, make sure you do that.
He is on Facebook and on Instagram, Clinton Diverse Mall

(26:29):
on most social media platforms, and then on ig is
Diverse Nation zero five, Diverse Nation zero five. So that's
one of the ways y'all if you have not followed him,
make sure you start following him and support what he
has going on. Let me take a moment too. I'm
going to go to one of those clips. Let me
show you everybody this first God Answer Me is a

(26:53):
stage plays. It looks like it looks like a movie
right there. Why the name answer Me? Talk to us.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
About it because the main character, Marcus Scott, plays a
role of a passi terry and we talk about what
happens in the house. Now in the church, what happens
in the house. A lot of people think that the
pastor is on a pull ped and he's spraying in
his heart, but he don't have things that he goes
on when he goes home. You see what I'm saying.

(27:21):
So we show him that, We show them that side,
and he got to the point where he knows God.
Of course, because he's a pastor, he leads with God's
word right, But we all get to the point where
we don't hear him right, And so we showed them
that side. So it gets to the point where he
got so much going on in his world that he's

(27:44):
trying to walk as a man of God, and he's
so distracted about what's going on, and he can't hear
God's voice to see how to do, how to move,
what to say in all these different things. So once
he stops hearing his voice, he stops and says, I'm
not moving, I'm not doing anything else until God answered me.
And so that's what we came in.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
So he's like, I'm putting life on hold until I
get God to answer me. Oh you do it? That
right there is sending chills even virtually through this, through
this interview.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
I'm trying to tell you because I feel like the
message is that's what we need to do when we
get to the point of our lives where we don't
hear God's voice anymore. For the people that's the believers,
we don't hear God's voice no more. That doesn't mean
start going back into your worldly ways. That doesn't mean
to try to go I gotta fix it, I gotta
do this, I gotta do this. That means sit still

(28:38):
and pray to hear God's voice because he's sometimes he
doesn't speak for us to us in that time because
we still have to go through as a process. You
know what I mean. When when when He told Peter
to come out that boat, he didn't stop the storm,
but he just told me, you know, stay focused on me,
don't focus on what's going on. Focus on me. And
I speak to you, hm.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Hmm, okay, something between you and Ben past the Marcus.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Over there, y'all y'all may have a joint church having
any y'all might well, Oh my gosh, let's see yeah,
this right here, I see all of this.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
I want to put. I want to put when the
production is and because I see a lot of stuff
for people to be able to start getting tickets and things,
and I want everyone to benefit from being in the
studio audience, especially if you're in the Charlotte and surrounding areas. Now,
a lot of the guests that come on the Kim
Jacobs Show, even though I know where in one hundred
and forty countries, some of them are right here in

(29:36):
Charlotte because that's when I'm based. So thank you for
being here today. But sometimes when i'm people from different countries,
they're like, where's Charlotte? What're you talking? But they don't
know what on they be from, you know, Nigeria and
different places. So y'all just bear with me whenever y'all
see me with some of my local my local supporters
on the Kim Jacob Show because I have to. I

(29:56):
have to have my people, my people from Charlotte and
my people from Newport News, Virginia. If you're from seventh
five to seven, I always want you to come on
to Kim Jacob Shi because y'all represent my original hometown.
And I'll not on my head, I did not forget
where I came from. All right, God, answer me. Production
is taking place on August thirtieth at West Charlotte High

(30:19):
School Theater, right, yeah, you get right theater theaters out here.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
We got the three o'clock show and we have a
seven o'clock show.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Okay, So it's going to be on August thirtieth, West
Charlotte High School Theater two two one nine Senior Drive.
And then I also want to make sure that you
know it's two productions. One is at three pm and
one is at seven pm, and the door is always
open an hour before. So if you have not gotten
your tickets yet, tickets are definitely running out because a

(30:52):
lot of people are already purchasing their tickets and you
can only get a certain amount of people in building period.
So by watching today, sharing it with your friends, family,
different people go ahead and say, hey, let's go have
a nice outing by going to support God Answer Me Production.
And this is the square link. And again I have
audio podcast listeners. So what I'll tell you is, I

(31:15):
don't know where can they go to be able to.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
They can get on any social media that you named earlier.
They can get on My Facebook is in my bio,
uh and my Instagram is in my bio. I also
have the website Diverse Nation Production dot com. You can
click on that.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Yeah, it's all divers Nation Production dot com.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
You can you can. They can get on that link.
And then I got a swear I can send you
the link to my swear website as well that they
can click on that. But it's even if you look Google.
If you get on Facebook and Google search God Answer Me,
it will take you to the event page. And uh
if the link is in that group page as well.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Okay perfect. I'm trying to make sure that there is
no you says to how people can get these tickets
right away, especially now there are only a few left.
So make sure you all get on that square link.
Go to Diverse Nation Production dot com, Go follow Clinton,
diverse mall on all of its social media pages, and

(32:17):
you're going to be able to hopefully get a ticket.
And normally, normally when people come on the Kim Jacob
Show sometimes you may get discounts and different things. What
I will tell you is if you purchase your ticket
and you say you're a part of the Kim Jacob Show,
let me let me know that and then I'll verify
it with Clinton.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
I got you, I got you. I'll tell you what
if you if you text that number on the fly,
if you see the fly, if you go on social media,
you text that number of thing you from the Kim
Joker Show, I'll send you a discount cold where you
get a discount to go on. And we also have
groups of five already discounts that the discount cold is

(32:55):
God loves Me. A group of ten is God Here's Me.
So you got to those those discount codes is for
groups of fives and ten.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
And this is on your Facebook page because I don't
have that flyer. Let me go over here.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Yeah, that my flyers on all my social media up
Facebook and Instagram.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
I'm gonna make sure I get that and put it
in here before we end today's broadcaster. So you all
will actually see the flyer too. Yeah, tickets. Okay, this
is really good. I see a flyer here. Okay, yepe wow,
this is good. Okay I did not see that. I'm
over here working.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, they definitely can. They can get on
that thing as much as they can, because what we want,
we want everybody to come. This is one of them
shows where if you got kids that's not believing in
God at this point, this is the show for them.
If you got believers that's stuck, stuck like you've been

(33:54):
believing in God, but you don't know where. Where's your purpose?
How do I get to my purpose? How do I pray?
This is the show for them because not only we
teaching you to listen to God's voice, but we also
teach you to how to get to connection with God.
A lot of people want to tell you hear God's voice,
but things like you got to get a connection first.
You have to pick up a phone and try to

(34:17):
dial if you won't, but if it ain't no connection, if
it's not connected to a network, it's not going anywhere.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
We learned that. We learned that just from this morning,
from mean that you connected properly.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
So what exactly so it teaches you how to get connected,
to teach you how to pray, and then teach you
how to get closer to God, to hear what he
wants you to do and in the ways that he
wants you to do it. Yeah, we got Erl Vernon,
uh Gadstonian natives in the show. Everybody knows Earl Vernon.
He did a lot of stuff. He didn't tour national
tours and stuff like that. So yeah, we got him

(34:51):
as the guest star of Reggie, a god that's dealing
with alcoholism in the show. And man, we have a
deep part in that where he thinks because he believes
in God and knows God, that he can just live
the life that he wants because he knows God, and
is a part what Terry tells him like, no, you
have to choose who you're going to serve because every

(35:14):
chance you go, every time you go through something, you
take the alcohol. So you showing God, this is your God.
And man, that part right there gives me chills every
time he's like, no, that's your God.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
You know.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Tickets are only thirty five dollars, y'all. I don't know
if this is an infomercial episode or what. I don't
even care. I'm just excited about the fact that God
answer me. August thirtieth is happening, and it's happening in Charlotte,
North Carolina. Now I know virtually you all may not
be able to be a part of it, but you
can definitely purchase a ticket and donate it to someone else,

(35:47):
just be a blessing for maybe a student or a
young person to be in the audience. You may purchase
it for a group of ten. Whatever you can do
to support this. This production is greatly appreciated and need
so people understand that God does answer prayers. He hears you,
and he cares about you. He cares about what you're
going through. So God, is this user friendly for children too? Anybody?

Speaker 3 (36:11):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
No?

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Yes, When I say we got because we got that
link choosers tickets on there. Also, I waited til say
this on the Kim Jacob Show. So if somebody reach
out to you that's a family and need to struggling
and anything like that, and they just cannot have full
of this show, but they've seen this on your show
and they really want to go on there. Somebody knows

(36:33):
somebody's been watching your show you tag me, we got them.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah, y'all listen, tuning in to the Kim Jacob Show
has its benefits, right, So we're gonna put that y'all.
Y'all heard it right here on the Kim Jacob Show.
If you are dealing with the situation and financially you
really know that you are not able to afford the
ticket that's being offered, but you have to be in
the audience let them know by calling the number. Let

(36:58):
me put it back up, calling the number three one four.
I don't have my glasses, So what in the world
is that saying? Is that three one eight? I was
lord three one four five one eight zero six two
one three one four five one eight zero six two one.
And when you call, that's where people can get tickets.

(37:21):
Is that where somebody can also explain the situation?

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Or no, yeah, they can. They can explain their situation
because you know, we had my mom donated two tickets,
my church donated two tickets, so we have four tickets
that we can donate. But even then, guys, I do
that every show. I'm always putting twenty tickets. Maybe sometimes
a bigger show is fifty tickets. Always to the size
for anyone that's truly in need. I'm talking about families

(37:46):
that never get a chance to take their kids out
to do anything. Let me be the show that you
can do that to four. You know what I'm saying.
And because what people don't understand is this play right
here is not about the tiickets. It sells per general.
Of course, we want the ticket sales. We want this
many people in the building, and we want to be
able to pay everybody. But this time around, God has

(38:09):
answered me. It's about what's going on in this world.
You need to understand that God is asking you to
pick a side. So we need you in that room.
We want you in that room.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Oh I want y'all in that room. And knowing that
you also are are an award winner, I want to
make sure that I highlight that too, because you recently
received an award called the Eight Awards.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Right, yes, yes, about that. So God came out, Yeah,
you know, man, the guy came out October fourth of
last year. I redid Finding Me, reproduced Finding Me at
Connapolis Middle School and he's the CEO of ACE Awards,

(38:55):
and he loved it and he nominated us for six categories.
He nominates for Production, Best Director, Best Female and Male Lead,
and Best Supporting League. And it was as amazing, and
out of the six categories nominations, we want to best
a Supporting Female Lead and then Best Director. So we

(39:15):
are so happy right now.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
I'm so happy for you and y'all. Again, I'm gonna
put it back up because now that you heard him
talk about it, now you can appreciate the picture of
the ACE Awards being recognized. And it's one thing to
be recognized and know that you're doing a great job
within yourself, but to have other people support that and
to endorse it, it makes a tremendous difference that your

(39:37):
work is not in vain. So congratulations on your recent awards.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
Yeah, and see, I told you worked out even though
you're in your car, You're like, Lord, you were doing
everything you could to get to a stationary location. But
this is actually a beautiful interview. So I'm grateful that
we made it happen regardless, you know, thank you. So
let's see. Let's see. So what advice would you give
those that are inspiring actors and directors play rights? Any
advice that you.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
Would give people, Yes, have faith, but also do the work.
Don't expect nothing for nothing. You know what I'm saying.
When you want to go into this field, know that
everything is against you all ready. But the people who

(40:25):
survive is not the most talented. The people who survive
is the people that don't give up. It's one of
them methods. Because this is a hard city. You may
be told a thousand no's before you get your one yes.
But some people may come in and get a thousand
yes and then they get they want to know and
break them. So you have to know that you have
to stay focused, stay determined, and never give up. Never

(40:46):
give up.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
Stay focused, determined, and never give up. Somebody type that
in the comments section, I can't do anything over Hi,
I'm trying to I'm trying to host them typing, I'm
putting flower thirds up and all of that. Somebody type,
what did you say? Say? Focused, determined and never give up.
Stay focused, determined, and never give up. That's great life advice,
not just about director or acting, but staying focus, determined

(41:10):
in never giving up is going to catapult you to
the next tier of your life here on this earth.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
That's the ingredients.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Proud of you.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Yeah, that's the ingredient to success, because if someone can
take your focus away, you are already unstoppable and being determined,
it's going to open doors and put you in rooms
that you didn't even see fit right, you know, and
just just being that person. Because when I first moved here,
I knew no one. I moved here with a bag
in my car. That's it. I was tired of Saint

(41:42):
Louis because of COVID. It wasn't opening up. I was
full time in my career, but COVID brought me down.
I lost my company everything, you know. I was on
an eight month tour before COVID, which finding me, and
I lost everything.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
And I could have gave up.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
I could have. I could have just said forget it,
but I didn't. I I came to North Carolina for
Black Community Festival. They picked Finding Me for that and
they loved it. And I loved it while I was here,
and I was like, man, I love this place. So
when Kobe hit and I was looking for a place
to just re event myself, I chose here and I

(42:18):
loved it. I loved I met some people in my
first two years that I was never met. If I
didn't jump out on faith. You see what I mean.
And so I'm here now, this is my home. Now
you know my goal here is to build the biggest
black theater here. That way, local play rights, local directors,
local actors, have a place that we can call home

(42:40):
and we can have the money in house and dollars
and not saying nothing wrong with building bloominghal You know
they're great. They're great, but sometimes when you first start out,
you can't afford those places. And so I want to
build a place where they have the same opportunity as
the next but be able to grow together.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
You're doing it. You're doing it. You're doing it. You're
motivating me so much over here. I'm enjoying my conversation
with you more than you can probably even imagine. Stay focused, determined,
and never gave up or give up is what the
advice is from Clinton diverse Mall. Let's go to one
of the studio audience comments. I see Vivian saying praying

(43:20):
that God blesses this production and your future endeavors. We
love you, Clinton Diverse Mall. Congratulations Mama, viv.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Yes, yes, yes, that's my mama at church. You know
what I'm saying. I always adopt people. You know what
I mean. If I find your soul to be puid
and whatever spirit you you know, you give me, that's
what I call you. I got some ainties, I got
some I got some uncles, and I got me a
church mom. And that's miss Vivian right there. When I
when I first joined that church, I was in a

(43:51):
dark spot in my life. Man. When I tell you
that whole church, the pastor from all the way down
to the people greet you from the front door. Uh,
and they let you know that you're somebody, you know
what I mean. And thank God that they were there
for me. I lost so many people this year, and
instead of going to what I used to go to

(44:11):
alcoholism and you know other little things, you know, I
turned to God. I was taught. I was I learned
through that church and the people around me to go
to God. First.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Thank you Jesus, thank you, Thank you Lord, Thank you Mama.
Viv Look at God. That's good. You say, God answers
me and been in that place. She's been in that place. Marcus,
pastor Marcus Scott said, praise the Lord. Basically, man, yeah,
this is some good stuff you all are commenting. I
see I forget. I gotta go overhead to the people

(44:43):
on Instagram too. I see you, Jeanne, I see all
of you guys over there on Instagram, and definitely put
your comments too, and I will make sure that I
acknowledge them as well. What do you think as far
as with theater, Marcus diverse mall when it comes to
the how do you think that that is playing a
key part in all that we have going on in

(45:04):
this society right now because we need an outlet.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
We need an outlet. But I feel like the reason
why I keep doing theater because I know a lot
of people doing the movies right now when COVID streaming
became a big thing. But the reason why I want
to keep theater alive is because it's lies. You can't
fake this. You can't yell cut with this, and that's
how life is. You can't yell cut in the midst
of your problems and your sorrow. You can't say, oh,

(45:28):
let me try this again. You know on once it started,
it is done right. And also with theater, you allow
the energy to come into the room. God, I will
say this and Marcus will contest to this. Even though
I wrote this play, even though market is an actor.
In rehearsal, we have moments where we have to stop

(45:49):
and give God the praise because annointing is in the room.
This play is powerful. When I tell you, guys again,
this is a mission. This is not to come to
be entertained and just go home. You're gonna be different
from the time that you go in into the time
that you leave. You know what I mean. You're gonna

(46:11):
be uplifted, You're gonna be renewed. I did not want
to do this play, and I say that honestly because
I was going through so much. I was like, I
just need time, and God told me, no, I need
you to do this because what you're praying for, your
financial freedom, you're get back full time. The things that
you're praying for. I'm trying to answer you. But instead

(46:32):
of just giving it to you, I gave you something
that can get you there. So God answered me. Is
my way there. So that's why I'm putting all my
heart into it and all my things. I'm taking this
thing on tour. I've jumped out on faith already and
I already claimed a tour. That's why I was telling
people every ticket so helped take this to the next city.
We have Saint Louis already lined up, We have rock
Hill already lined up. So I'm letting you guys know

(46:54):
that this is a movement right now. Look all the hurricanes,
of tornadoes, the killings. We just had a school shooting
two days ago. You just started. You see what I'm saying.
And it's only because God. The people that know God
think that, oh says I know him. I can just
go live. This is a time to resurface that faith.

(47:15):
People that don't know God, this is the time for
you to know who you served.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
That's good, that's good. Come on, I took and told you,
like my grandma said, I don't took and told you.
And uh, mister Marcus Scott, there's something brewing down on
the inside of y'all that's got to come up, right.
So it's coming up through this play, through this production.
And I mean, I'm really really excited about it. I
just feel like, if you could creatively produce any kind

(47:42):
of play, whether it's real fiction, whatever, what would without
any limitations to budget? What would that look like for you?

Speaker 2 (47:50):
Come on tell us man. So if I had no budget, man,
I would have people flawing off the ceiling. I would have, uh,
you know my projector would it be moving and different,
changing at the different things. But I'm gonna tell you something,
and I'm not trying to be preachy, but I'm gonna
tell you something. That's how I work Regardless's why I
named diverse. I don't my budget is a budget, but

(48:13):
I always think that it's already unlimited, because whatever God wants,
He's gonna find a way to give it to me anyway.
So I added dancers to this. I added singers to this.
I added so much movement to this. When you come
see God answer me. If you close your eyes and
open it back up and not know that you was
in North Carolina, you would think that you was on Broadway.

(48:34):
That's the experience you're finnah get on August thirtieth yoh.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
When somebody say that's the experience you fitting to get,
then you getting ready to get something something that he
ain't even talking, no grammatical correct so he talking about this.
So you're getting fit to get you fit to get
blessed is what's getting ready to happen. You fit to
get yourself blessed by coming to see this production. So
you know I see I see all of you that
thank God, thank God, a man, a man, a man

(49:00):
with a testimony. I see all of your comments. Keep
them coming in, and you don't want to miss the
opportunity to be man at West Charlotte High School Theater
August thirtieth for one of these two productions. One is
at three pm and one is at seven pm. He's
already told you if you literally say that, you need

(49:21):
to get into the building, but you're not able to financially,
which is only a limited amount of those seats, So
don't don't everybody call, but they're gonna run out. That's
not gonna be available to everybody.

Speaker 2 (49:30):
Pay the thirty five gifts of discernment too, So don't
call and think you're gonna fake me. You're talking to
God when you're speaking to here on that because I'm
all I'm gonna do is pray, and if God don't
give me that discernment to move in that order, I'm not.
So it's not nothing, but because because most people that's
really going through it don't want to put themselves out there,
So that call gonna be different anyway you're saying, and

(49:53):
it may not even come from that person may be
come from somebody that's close to that person that may
do that call, and know that we're not gonna judge you,
we're not gonna shine a light on you. You're gonna
be treated like anybody else in that room, and we're
gonna have some fun.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
Well that's good, that's good. Listen. Tickets are only thirty
five dollars. You can go to three one four five
one eight zero six two one. Make sure you call
three one four five one eight zero six two one
and make sure you call to get your thirty five
dollars ticket for one of those two performances. I do
want to play a clip of some of your I

(50:30):
saw a clip back here of Yeah, y'all were doing
some rehearsing I think, so.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Let me Yeah.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
Yes, it was like she was singing my.

Speaker 5 (50:54):
Golf when everybody's on one accord, when everybody's on one accord,
and it looks like having a.

Speaker 1 (51:09):
Good time, not just working and being pushed to your limitations,
but beyond your limitations, but literally having fun with oh.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Having fun. Every rehearsal is always fun. Actually, this last
rehearsal was the most powerful rehearsal we had since we
opened up, God answered me. We came in with the
intentions to rehearse and we'll go blocking in our lines.
And we went through our room ups and one of
the actors, my niecea king. Thank God, it's blessing her heart.

(51:40):
She walked up to me and most directors don't even
give room for business. But thank you that I'm being
obedient to God. So if God gives me grades, I
got extended. She bought to say, clinking, I be obedient,
and I'm like, Oh, what's he gonna do? And she
started singing the God Answered Me theme song, and she
started breaking down and crying. Before you know it, we

(52:00):
spent the rest of the night praising God and giving
God the glory and overcoming some things that we was
holding on because one thing we had to learn through
this process. If we're doing an overcoming show, if we're
doing an uplifting show, we can't have baggage or things
we're working on. How can we tell God to heal
other people if we're not giving our problems to God.

(52:22):
You know what I'm saying. So Monday, God said, Okay,
y'all keep holding on and trying to portray something you know,
so let me give y'all the opportunity that you guys
giving people on August thirtieth. Let me give you guys that.
So we were able to give ourselves a show and
give it all to God. When I say we left
that place drained, I mean no more tears could be

(52:44):
cried at that moment. I mean the one of our
castle speaking in tongue, somebody else was bringing down on
the floor while the other one started singing and laying
hands on them. And when I say, it was full
on worstship, you know. And we don't have no video
over there because no one was even had the energy
to pick up their phones.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
Looking over here, I'm like, do I have the video?

Speaker 3 (53:05):
Do it happen? It was?

Speaker 2 (53:06):
It was just a moment and and things was falling
on off the walls.

Speaker 6 (53:11):
In the room.

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Marcus contested this. It was things were just falling and
we were like, man, the spirit is in this room. Logies, logy, logies.
But so I tell people that, So the one of
the good missions is that we God's got to do.
That is gonna be different from most productions. Is is
God like things that's going on. We're gonna have a
dancer that comes in in between the scenes to change

(53:33):
the scene. Now, most times the life does it, but
we have dancers because we want to show people that
sometimes when you leave the room with mess, God comes
in to clean the room, right, So we have the
dancer cleaning the fat as we change in the scene.
But when you walk in, you're gonna get an index
card that says how do you want God to answer you?

(53:55):
And you write it down and doing the intermission, we
take that and I ain't gonna spaill it, but we
do some special with that at the end.

Speaker 1 (54:04):
My god, my god, my God, my god, my guy,
my guy. I'm telling y'all, y'all, Oh my god, y'all,
y'all are in for a tremendous treet So I'm telling
you you don't want to miss the opportunity to be
in that studio audience. I have one more clip that
I do want to play because I see how since
Pastor Marcus Scott is out here supporting you so much

(54:26):
today I have I found this clip.

Speaker 7 (54:27):
Listen from Sick to Hell from pro to play. Now
I can testify that all save my God, he's a man,
simply man.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
He is on me.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
That's why I believe.

Speaker 6 (55:01):
Then off at that point and then your song start
right after. Okay, so that song, ha, I know.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
You're get some further instruction. I just cut it down.
But that right there, wish that bishop market you done
went up to the bishop at this.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
You know, Oh my gosh. He got a lot of
strong moments right there. That's the part I was explaining earlier.
That's the moment where he was telling him, No, this
is your guy, this is guy you serve. You know
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (55:38):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (55:38):
And he was talking about the alcohol man. And after that,
after he was told that word, really don't drink as
much no more. After that you start to see what
he means by that. But uh, Pastor Terry.

Speaker 1 (55:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
In this play, he has the most deepest part right
where his whole world is going crazy and everybody leaves
and he seems I need a word by smoking Norsel.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
When he sings this song, guys, it's not gonna be
a dry in the room. But then also we have
turning around for me that's played in this song. He
won't sit all played in this song, I am a
living testimony played in this In this play, there's a
leak in this old building it's played in this and

(56:24):
a shepherd sings also yes. Basically she at a time
where Terry was questioning God and he said, I just
want to know if I'm doing the right thing. And
my niece says, when God says yes, no one can
say no. And she opens the song up with if
he says yes. And man, when I tell you, guys,
when I say the music selections of this play is

(56:47):
gonna to touch you in a way that you ain't
never been touched, y'all, I'm telling.

Speaker 1 (56:50):
You, y'all, y'all are in for when I can feel it.
I can just you know how you can feel something,
you know it's gonna go down at a whole different level.
August thirtieth, you have to be in that bill in
private moment with God, Mama Viv said, and you see
got me calling her Mama Viv now right. And then
Marcus Scott, he gave some blush emojis, okay, and then

(57:13):
sing sir, Sing sir. And you can sing too, Clinton,
I ain't putting you on the spot over there, but
you know you can sing too.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
A little bit.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
I ain't, you know, but I heard you already. I was,
I was.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
I'll did a little.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
Someone on that stage that day.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
You do way more than a little something. You know
what you're doing, that's for sure. Leading by example is
what you're doing. So that's a good thing. All right,
all right, Okay, well we I think we we covered
so many things. I feel like your message is, like
you said, a movement is not just about just putting
a production or a play together, but literally just saying

(57:53):
that this is what we all need. We need an
answer from God.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
Yes, we all need God. And remember every ticket sol
helps us take it to the next city. Guys, we
do not ask everyboy the tickets, your your your tickets,
allowing someone else to experience this as well in a
total different city and a total different situation. And we're
asking all churches, uh, pastors and first ladies because we

(58:17):
want enough. We want we know what's gonna happen in
this room. So we're asking all the pastors and first
ladies to all these churches please be in the room
because we know you're going to be needed. Uh, there's
gonna be some worship. We're trying to we're gonna try
to get through this play as much as we can,
but we know it's gonna be moments where it's gonna
be some worship happening, and we just want to be
able to have people in the room where people have
to step out and be prayed for or touched, and uh,

(58:40):
we have those people in the room, so we ask
you please come out.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
That's that's good a specific call to action. If you
are a pastor or a ministry leader, make sure that
you come and be in attendance at this performance because
you are needed and you need it spiritually. So that's
that's a beautiful call to action. So if that's the case,
then you know that you want you're going to be
bringing even your church members and have it as a

church outing. Make sure that you come and be a
part of that. West Charlotte High School, twenty two nineteen

that you really wanted to convey in today's interview, Any

want to give honor to my parents. I love you guys.
I'm doing this for you.

Speaker 3 (01:00:03):

Speaker 2 (01:00:04):

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
