relevant and relatable content on today's episode of The Kim
Jacobs Show. Yes, everybody, it is a special episode of
(00:42):
The Kim Jacob Show where we are bringing balance to
the world, one household at a time. I am super honored,
almost like a proud parent over here. I'm like, nothing
is going to prevent me from coming on live with
this young man of valor, this young man of honor,
this young man of distinction. David Butler. How are you,
(01:05):
David Butler?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I am doing really good, Miss Kim.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
You're so manneraball your parents have raised you, right.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
They did. They did a really good job.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Isn't that a beautiful thing when you can go and
point back to say, you know what, y'all did good
by me, you raised me well, oh you know men. Yes, listen, everybody,
we're going to be talking about how to bring balance
to the world, one household at a time, and the
way that we do that today is to encourage young
entrepreneurs to be able to pursue their goals and their
(01:38):
dreams and to let them know that nothing can stop
you when God resides on the inside of you and
is pushing you to your destiny. So I know he
gets to hear my voice often. He definitely hears his
family members who are always supporting him and pushing him
to greatness. But listen, I want y'all to encourage everybody
you know to be a part of this very special
(02:00):
episode here today. So let me go ahead and tell
your bio was really really I love it. It was
simple and you said, listen, my name is David Butler,
and a few things about me is that I am
just a man after God, and what I want to
do with my gifts is inspire people through my creations. Yes,
(02:22):
what a simple way of just saying thank you God
for giving me the gifts and the talents that you
trust me with.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Simple but powerful, Yes, simple but powerful.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Why do you say that, let's go ahead and just
jump into our conversation.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
I say simple but powerful because like if you in
my world anyway, if you try to over explain anything,
it loses its value in my opinion. So like when
I was making that, I was like, I don't want
to say, like, you know, like I don't want to
give my entire life story in a bio that's like
one that's a lot to read, and two, you know,
(02:56):
like someone might get lost in the sauce, is lost
in the right, lost in the sauce. So it was like,
it's easier to say I'm just a guy because in reality,
I'm just a guy, but I am a man after God.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
M And then how how interesting your name is David?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Right? Right?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yes, I guess you might as well claim that you're
a man after God's own heart automatically right name. Yeah,
that's a good thing. So take us back and just
tell us about you, because how you are today is
it may or may not be how it always was
for you. So just take us back on your journey
into your childhood. Not like you that far removed from it.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
But you know, in my is it like is it
like anything specific or no?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Nothing? Specific, just any place that you want to start.
Sometimes you may want to take us back to growing
up and knowing that this is where artists you're interested
in artist becoming an artist started and blossomed. Or you
might want to take us back and just I never
had that even in the thought, and then something transpired
that made that become the case. So wherever you want
(04:04):
to take us is what we'll do.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
I'll take okay, I'll take this here.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
When I was a kid, I used to well I
still do, but one of my go to things was
to either create something or to.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Draw something when I like every time when I was bored.
Matter of fact, where's my hear this? I'm so, I'm
so glad I have this.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
This was one of the things that I've created when
I was bored or because I love to create things
when I was a kid. This is one of This
is like a lightsaber from I forget which Star Wars
movie is too many now?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
But how old were you when you created that?
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Man? That's a great question. I think I was like
thirteen thirteen fourteen ish, I think.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
And you created that from scratch?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah, well look at like not from entirely scratched.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
I saw someone do it in like a time lapse
on YouTube, and I was like, dang, like like they
made all.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
That out of cardboard.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
So I kind of took the time lapse video and
slowed it down so I could follow along with it.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
It doesn't matter if I took a time lapse video
and put a trace connected dots, it still wouldn't come
out like that. So you created that technically from scratch.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Okay, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
That's no. There's no human way possible that I would
be able to create something like that because that's not
something that's my gifting, you know.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Yeah, interesting. So you were thirteen years old when that transpired,
and you just was bored and said.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Just about just about like and I've created other carbo
things before, but the most, excuse me, the thing that
I most liked to do was to draw, because I
would love to watch If anyone has ever seen it,
you should watch it.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
It's really a show. It's Adventure Time.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
That's still like to this day, is like probably one
of my favorite cartoons. Okay, and like there I remember
I was, uh, I was in our older house and
I was drawing every single character I could see on
the show.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
It was like one episode in particular, I remember it
was like.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
This slime blog thing, this uh this cat with like
missing parts, and.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I don't know, it was just cool to me, so
like I continue to do it.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
And when I got into like other people doing it,
I was like, this is a like like this is
a big industry because there's a lot of cartoons. There's
a lot of movies that are hand drawn, which is
like the most amazing part to me.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
And it's it's it still is now.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
That's interesting and and I'm wondering who first saw that
talent in you and encourage you to really develop it more.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
H There's there's been quite a number of people. If
I had to say, like the first, it would either
be my grandmother, I go, she goes my Dana in
our household, but her my sister, or one of my
(07:12):
art teachers when I was in middle school.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Okay, I would say.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
So you have an art teacher in school that encouraged you.
You have your sister, your grandmom, your family members at
home that encourage you. How important is it to have
some level of support at home when it comes to
pursuing your dreams as a young adult.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Very important, because I feel like if there isn't any
support or if there's like minimal support, you could still
like you can still one.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Hundred percent do it.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
It would just be I would say, like one hundred
to a thousand times harder because you're only going off
of what you have, which is your willpower. Now, like
if it was you and God, for instance, it would
be way easier, but it'd still be hard. So, like
like with God and encouragement from people home, that messages
(08:01):
into a really beautiful thing. It's called encouragement or confidence.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
I would say, that's good, okay. So having that synergistically
merge together, then that gives you an extra boost in
your opinion. But there are some people that literally don't
have the backing of the family to support them on
their journey or a teacher that sees something in them. Actually,
you hear different people like even Steve Harvey and different
(08:29):
ones that will say a teacher may have discouraged them
and said you'll never do this, you'll never become that,
and they still go on to achieve greatness. What are
any of your thoughts pertaining to those that don't have support?
Speaker 3 (08:41):
For anyone who doesn't have support, I have, I only
have a couple of things to say about that. I
would say, one, retreat to the Lord, because if you
retreat to the Lord, that is a really big thing.
Nothing is impossible with God, I would say, yeah, the
(09:03):
Bible says, I'll say.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Right, all things are possible to That's right.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
But yeah, I would say prayer, staying in the Word,
and honestly not relying on your own strength every single
time you do something.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I like, even before this call.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
That we're on now, I asked the Holy Spirit to
speak for me. Don't let me do it by myself
because I don't know what I'm doing. You know what
you're doing because you meant for me to be here.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
That's right, That's good. So prayer and staying in the
Word and making sure you know you can do all
things through Christ, who strengthens you is very important advice
from this young man who's with us today, David Butler,
who is a man after God's own heart and is
inspired to do the artwork that he's been putting out
into the world. So this is almost like a debut
(10:00):
you for David Butler. Everybody, and I'm asking you, if
you will, to please pour in comments and sharing words
of encouragement, let him know that there are people that
believe in him at a young age. Imagine if people
just supported you at a young age and poured him too,
you affirmation and confirmation and being able to just say
(10:23):
you can do this thing, how much further you would
be along in life as an adult. So I believe
this this is a debut moment for you. Do you
feel that that's the case, David?
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Okay, everyone has everyone today has been like oh, like
they were so excited. It's it's still I feel like
the arrow hasn't hit its mark yet. It will eventually,
but it hasn't hit it. But once it hits the mark,
I'll be like, I'll probably be like dang, like I
did that.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Well, but like but for now, it's like a I'm
still on ground level for now.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
So what do you think when make the arrow hit
its mark? From your perspective, because somebody else can say, oh,
the arrow hit the mark, it was dead, it was
spot on. But if you don't think that, then it's
just somebody else giving you their feedback but you didn't
receive that.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Hmm.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
I would say this, something that to make that arrow
hit its target would be consistency, consistency in the wind,
and consistency from the archer, me being the archer and
the wind being whatever I'm doing. Because because in any way,
the wind could go left, I could do something really
(11:36):
dumb and completely mess up, but I could fire again
as long as I keep firing and that mark keeps
hitting its mark.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Excuse me, the arrow keeps hitting its mark.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Right, I know what you meant. I knew what you meant.
I was like, I'm not about to correct you on
this good show. I'm just gonna let you go. And
it was okay, I got you. So consistency is key.
So it's one thing to start off one way, but
it's another thing to be consistently doing what you need
to do and showing up for yourself. Right. Excellent, excellent.
(12:07):
So y'all listen, we want to make sure that you
get a chance to also see some of the artwork
that David Butler is doing. And I'm not going to
show all of it at one time, but I will
just show one piece right now, just so y'all can
get a little flavor of what he's working. Okay, that's
Betty boot y'all, y'all remember this. He drew this himself.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
That's Betty boot yeh man. I was surprised when I
was done with it.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
I was like, wow, it's identical. This is like look
at the details of how you have the glove, the
exact positioning of the dress, and the eyes, the green,
the hair flipped in the right curls. How do you
know that you have a skill that is this level
(12:54):
of talent? Do you just know it? Is it like
an instinct or something that happens, Like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yes, I would say it's a it's a level of
confidence because okay, because like I've heard a lot of
things online about art, and one of them was to
always use a reference. I used the reference for that one,
but and like but like other times I would create
other things and it would it would just look like
(13:21):
a like whatever, I'm like, what is this?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
It looks super weird.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
But through my through my consistency and like studying certain
art forms and like studying certain art styles and stuff
like that, I've gotten.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
A lot of knowledge.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
So so I would say it's the combination of talent
and knowledge, mostly knowledge though, because talent onlygo is a
little bit away, you know, I mean, yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
So talent only goes a little bit of the way,
but knowledge is what really catapults.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Things in your opinion exactly. Yes, yeah, yeah, very good.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
It's I I'm interested in always hearing it from an
artist's perspective because I think I believe differently than you.
So this is even though I do think talk show
things are very artistic and creative in their own right,
but to hear from your perspective is a very interesting
school of thought, you know.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah, And like, like, for can we go back to
that Betty boot picture first, Like I want to just
like just pick at it and like you kind of
just like show the things that I was thinking about. So,
like I'm I'm a very detailed person. So like you
see those like little tiny strands in the hair, yes,
those like little tiny like spiky things, and some photos
(14:39):
of like long wavy hair like that. It's sometimes kind
of there's imperfections, if that makes sense, and that imperfection
kind of gives it its It kind of gives it
its charm. Basically, it lets you know that it's real,
you know what I mean? And and like and like
the kind of like the blur effect at the top
of the hair.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
You know, yeah, yes, and some people's hair.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
That blur effect is kind of also there because some
people's hair can be super what's it called super light,
and it kind of clumps up and looks like that. Okay,
So stuff like that that I wouldn't have known about
if I was just using straight Oh. Man, the black,
the black and white has got to be my favorite
version of this drawing because it's like it's classic.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
It looks like it's from.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
That era exactly. It looks identical. Is anybody else? I mean,
are you inspired today just by hearing the story of
David Butler and how he's inspired to do this art?
So what where do you get your inspiration from specifically?
And is it scripture? Is it everyday life? Is it emotions? What?
(15:47):
What are you basing your inspiration on?
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (15:52):
It's actually very personal for me.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I would say my inspiration of wanting to like get
into art and keep doing art is my sister Joscelyn Butler.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
You's gonna make me. I'm gonna have to find a
picture of Joscelyn because you didn't send me these pictures.
I'm over here trying to deep Dave and your family portraits.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Over here, Man, what Jocelyn she was really in my opinion,
she was like ahead of her time in art. In
my opinion, it was awesome. Like we saw some of
the stuff. I don't know if I can grab one
of them now, but we saw some of the paintings
that Joscelyn had made. And I remember, I remember I
(16:34):
was at her art convention I think a certain high
school or her high.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
School, and is this Joscelyn in there?
Speaker 2 (16:42):
No, that's Aaron Aaron.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Okay, come on, but that's that's one of your sisters too, right, yeah, yeah, okay, okay, okay,
I'm like, man, I gotta find Joscelyn. Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
You might be looking at like a like a like
a far aways back because I'll disclosure. She unfortunately passed
in uh twenty fifteen. Right, and but but like the
stuff that she was doing. I was always like, dang,
because because all of us have kind of that gift
of artistry, I would say from my grandfather, because he
(17:15):
was a really good artist too. I remember him telling me, oh, man,
I could draw it, like I could draw anything. Like
I would point something out and I'd be like you
could draw that, and he would be like, yup. I
was like Wow, that's amazing because I could see it
through Jocelyn's work and I remember one of her paintings
in that convention. It either got it either got first place,
or it was somewhere up there. But I was amazed.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Yeah, I really. If you, I don't know, if you
have that painting where you can email it to me
at any point, feel free and I'll pop it up
if all.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Through and send it.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Oh you gotta find it, okay, yeah wow. But but
the point is, Jocelyn is who inspired you, and as
a result of that, that these beautiful drawings is what
came about as a result of not even knowing you
had that gift or that talent at that level. So
how important is it for a sibling to be able
to be able to inspire you and then all of
(18:11):
a sudden some gifting comes from you that you never
knew even exists in yourself. Right, Wow, And so that's
pretty interesting. I'm I think that reminds me at least
from in our situation. One of my children played football
in honor of his brother, Gabriel that transitioned from this
(18:33):
earth never played football, he was claustaphobic, played basketball, but
definitely he was not a football player, but went on
to guess what, get scholarships in college as a result
of him becoming a football player in honor of his brother,
my son, that transitioned. So that's like God inspired, in
my opinion, to have a gift that you don't even
(18:54):
know exists and that surfaces at that level. Yeah, do
you ever do paintings in honor of Jocelyn?
Speaker 2 (19:06):
One second? Let me let me grab it.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
It's not like it's not like anything that I'll remove you.
I'll remove you for a second so you get a chance.
So I'm not showing you underbelly or anything. But listen,
we're talking everybody with David Butler. As you can see,
he keeps everything very near and dear to his heart
and right there within reach. I'm going to pull him
back into the screen. All right, go ahead, this okay.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
I had Jocelyn in mind when I was doing this painting.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
You remember we talked about that and what did I
tell you? And I didn't know. I didn't even know
that Joscelyn was the reason that that you did that painting.
But I said to you that it looks like someone
is reaching to learn more about heaven and what it
means to be able to reach into the heavens.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Wow, h, I really get the picture. I like that.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, that's beautiful. So you had Jocelyn talk to us
about that painting.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
This painting, I remember, Uh. Let me think.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
I was going through like a pretty tough uh what
is it called period in my life at that point,
and it felt like I was trying to hold on
to my to like my boyish what is it called
my boyish mentality?
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Right?
Speaker 3 (20:31):
But I started to think, like, I mean, sooner or later,
it'll feel like I'm a boy again, because that that
that that that same boy is always going to be
in my head. And that same boy gives me a
whole bunch of imagination and a whole bunch of ideas
that I wouldn't even think of because I'm focused on
work bills, like you know, like a whole bunch of
(20:54):
whole bunch of life stuff. So I keep him close.
That's that's mainly who he's supposed to He's supposed to
be me. Oh wow, he's supposed to be like the
boy uh version, like the boyish, innocent creative you know,
(21:15):
you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Absolutely, I see it here on your Instagram pages, and
that he is a childlike wonder of heaven is all
about what it looks like. What can you expect? Almost
like that song, I can only imagine That's what it
reminds me of whenever I see that that imagery. Wow.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yeah, and also had Heaven in mind, That's why it
looks so I mean, like, I'm still I'm still amazed
that that came out of me, honestly, because that looks awesome.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
It looks amazing.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I'm quite impressed with everything that God is doing through
you and and to hear that your inspiration came from
your sister is just huge. Just touches my heart more
than you could even imagine. And I would like for
you if you could walk us through the process of
how you turn an idea into a finished piece of
(22:09):
art that you've personally created.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
So what I do, I would?
Speaker 3 (22:14):
I would It would probably take like a week for
like the for like the full process, because one I
have to think about it, and I have to build
up to it, and then I actually have to execute.
Executing it is probably the hardest part for me, but
I'm getting better at it slowly. But during it, I
would think about, like for for the painting I just showed.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
For example, I wrote down like a like a whole
like paragraph or.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Two on how I was feeling, and like, you know
what I did, I put it into AI. I asked
AI to give me colors, and I used those colors
to come up with this.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Wow, that's a So so you do you check with AI, say, hey,
give me some ideas, but you're putting your own thoughts
into their first and then it's working from within the
parameters that you're giving it. And then then you move
forward and start I'm telling you, you're doing some things
in my opinion, that are beyond your age personally that
(23:19):
I've actually witnessed. So I'm excited to hear everything that
that you do. You start out with an idea, you
run some of color schemes through AI, then take us
to the next steps.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
So after I get the color scheme, then I start
like kind of cause I don't use AI like for
the full art piece. I use AI mainly as a
tool because that's a tool that guy gave us to improve,
just like the Internet, just like books, just like such
and such and such and such. But I would usually
(23:51):
converse with AI and be like Okay, now that we
have these colors, what are some you know, counter colors
or some what is it called complimentary Yeah, complimentary colors
to these colaores that you just gave me.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
And I would as it was, okay, no excuse me.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
I then would like draw out a rough sketch on paper, okay,
not a picture of it, and then I'll be like, okay,
now add some colors to it, and then it would
give me some pictures.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
And then I would draw that. I would use it
as a reference.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Basically, I would use a picture it gave me as
a reference and then tweak it in certain ways to
the way I wanted it.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
And then are you able to sell this artwork to
people that might be interested? Yes, okay, okay, so this
is good, y'all. Listen, I'm inspired. And once you see
all of the different art that this gentleman has created,
I want to put information up for you to be
able to know how to purchase some of the art
from him, and also how to have him even come
(24:57):
to maybe some of your events that you're having and
have him display some of his artwork. There are different
art museums and things throughout the city of Charlotte. Not
just in Charlotte. This show is in one hundred and
forty countries, so not only is it in the Charlotte area.
He can do things and have them shipped internationally. You
have to pay the ship and fee and stuff, y'all.
(25:18):
Don't think I'm like, he is not gonna pay the
ship and fee. Y'all gotta take care of that, oboddy.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Okay, I'll just kid.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
That's funny. Okay. So I see comments and I want
to acknowledge them. Your Graham, your Nana is that what
you call her?
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yes, Hello, Anana?
Speaker 1 (25:36):
She said, wonderful, wonderful and let's see, let's see. Glad
to have you on Vanessa. Okay, that's me tagging somebody. Okay,
powerful thought, action, time, finished work. So going from a
thought to a finished work and at the end of
it taking about a week or so, is what I'm
hearing you say.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Yeah, from the.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Time of concept to the time of end result.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Because at the same time, while I'm doing my while
I'm doing my rough sketch phases, Honestly, I would sometimes
get distracted and start doodling other things to see if
it would even fit into what I wanted to but
it was. It probably take me like a page or
two of rough sketches to actually figure out what I
want to be on a campus or what I want
(26:26):
to be on the digital screen.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Wow. Okay, that's that's good to But you know, again,
you're inspiring people today because a lot of people can
have ideas, but they don't know how to get them
from the concept to a reality. So even though everyone
tuning in today may not be an artist, what advice
would you give people to go from an idea to reality?
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Some advice? Well, I'll just say what I did to
get there. One it's super I feel like it's super controversial,
but I'm just gonna say it anyway.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
One I would use I would use AI. I would
use AI use it as.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
A tool to figure out how you even want it
or or like how you are like excuse me to
picture your thoughts basically because for some people, me included,
it's hard for me to take a thought and think
and like to to thake to think, to take words
and put them into a picture.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Sometimes it would come.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Out, as I said before, as like a weird thing,
and I would I and I wouldn't like it, and
I would lose confidence in my ability to do art.
But if I take it into a program, because that's
what AI is a program, program exactly, and and I
like I type in my exact thoughts, it would come
(27:54):
up with something, and then that gives me an idea,
and then I can start drawing it. Because I already
know what I want and I know that I'm kind
of looking at it.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
I just got to tweak it a little bit.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
That's it. And I love that. I love that because
some people are really nervous about AI. And what I
hear you saying is that it's almost like just using
any other computer program, or when we tell our computer
turn on, turn off, go Google this, because we're giving
it instruction or direction exactly. Yes, we're giving GPS, this
(28:26):
is the location that I want you to take me to.
So with AI, it sounds like you're saying, put in
there what you're instructing it to do, based on your
own thoughts. Then give it something to work.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
With, and then after you, after after it's already been
worked through AI, just take it. Don't just don't just
take it from AI, because I feel like people will
be able to notice that something's AI. But once you
get the reference from AI because on some YouTube videos
that I will watch, I would see people take other
(29:00):
people's art but not copying it completely. They would draw
it because of a certain pose or something, and then
they would change it and they would make it theirs basically.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Okay, So what they they're doing?
Speaker 2 (29:14):
What they would take people's artwork?
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Okay, and like like they would kind of copy like
a pose or something that they're doing, say like they're
kind of doing like something like this or something, but
they would change it in such a way that it's
theirs and not an exact.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Copy of what they were drawing.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
So are you recommending that or not recommending.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
That, red, because that's what I do personally.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Okay, So just making sure it's not a plagiarism situation exactly. Yes,
So don't just take somebody's stuff and then just slap
your name on it saying as yours, because that's illegal.
But making sure that you make some changes that would
make it more customized to who you are and what
you're bringing to the world.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Exactly, or or if you're if you're maybe not comfortable
with doing that, you could even do some references yourself.
Because I seem that some Disney animators and artists. They
would take videos of themselves of what they wanted their
character to do, and then they would use that as
a reference and then they would draw it. I've done
(30:18):
it sometimes too. It came out a little weird because
I didn't really know how to do all the specific things,
but I know how to do it now and it's
come out well, that's right, yeah, excellent.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Okay, okay. So I see you saying hello, how are
you doing great? How are you great? To see you today?
And I love that, is what doctor Hddystify or something says.
I love that. Yes, it is an awesome piece of art,
your artwork, Susan says. And if you all are interested
(30:50):
in learning how you can purchase the art and would
like to purchase a piece for the holidays for someone
as a gift, then I'm going to make sure you
know exactly how to connect with David if you DM him.
Is that correct? Is that the right word? Because I
feel like I'm all m so you DM him at
(31:10):
pr Z Underscore Marine pr pr one Z pr one
Z Underscore Marine because I have a lot of audio
listeners on WDRB media and I heart ready in different places.
So pr one Z Underscore Marine is where you would
DM him for the art that he is displaying today,
(31:34):
and we're going to go through and make sure you
see lots of different pieces. If there is a piece
that you're interested in, you can even put it in
the comment section during this episode and he will connect
with you and give you the price for it. So
we'll make sure that we take a moment to do
that as well. But as we continue to go forward,
do you feel that God speaks to you through your creativity?
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Yes? Matter of fact, Come on this drawing.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
You just happen to have everything right there by you.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Look this this drawing right here, I just put something there,
Isaiah forty thirty one.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
I saw that and.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
That other drawing. Hang on, I got I gotta grab
it's like across my room.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
I gotta hit it. Well, I have all of your
drawings anyway too. Oh yeah, yeah, that's right, I have
them up here for you.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
That's right, that's right, that's right.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Now just tell me which one to go to?
Speaker 2 (32:29):
That circle one, the circle one, yeah right here?
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Yeah, okay, go ahead, tell us about it.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
So on the bottom of that it says Luke six
thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
I remember I was drawing that because there's one night
I was I was in the parking lot of a
Target and this woman had came up out of nowhere
and it was like knocking on my window. So I
opened the window and she was saying if I could
get her like a like a coke or something from
inside and some food, and I was like, sure, give
me one second, because she asked. Originally she asked for money.
(33:06):
I was like, I don't have any bills on me.
I wish I could help you, and I had I
had to read those in the car. I was like,
would you, like, do you want somebody to read it? Though,
like like I could share with you, and she was
like no, I want you to enjoy.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
But you.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
But then she said, well if you kept since you
keep asking, can you go ahead and get go ahead
and Target? And I was like sure, give me, give
me a couple of seconds. I went to Target, got
her cooking some other stuff. I felt really good after that,
and she took me to her her mode of transportation
and it was another guy who was also helping her
(33:38):
get like helping her get around, and she thinks both of.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Us said we loved each other. It was nice. It
was really nice. And that's that's what I felt.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
You do feel like God has really has a customized
relationship with you. He he loves you, and he's guiding you,
and he's giving you instances to prove that he's with you.
That's amazing. That's really good. And even at a young age,
because a lot of times younger people may not always
know when they're hearing the voice of God. How do
(34:12):
you know that you're hearing the voice of God.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Through the Word of God, like, genuinely, because if I
don't read the word of God, if I don't read
God's text messages, basically, I won't know who he is
or what he sounds like or what he would sound like.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
You know, that's good, that's good. You know. I know
that your family is so proud of you and knowing
that what's being instilled over the many years of your life,
that you're applying these principles and taking it seriously. You know. Yeah,
So I'm really glad that you are a walking example
(34:51):
of when parents pour into young people. We don't always
know what direction our children are going to go in,
but to know that you've poured into them the way
that they're supposed to be poured into and to see
it manifest and become the reality is a tremendous blessing.
And when I searched your page, I did find a picture.
I think this is your mom and dad together right
(35:12):
there is Yes, that's your mom okay, and then it's
an old school picture. But I wanted to just put
something up to honor your parents today and to say, thank.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
God, this is my loving father and your mom.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
And dad, and I celebrate them and how they have
poured into you.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Now.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
Of course I know more about this woman right here.
I hold her near and dear to my heart. So
I'm really grateful that she is assigned to be your
mom and that God gave her the gift of you
along with your siblings. And please tell me, because I
was again researching backstage, they're tell me if this picture.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Yes, and the one in the blue is Jocelyn?
Speaker 1 (35:52):
I thought, so, yeah, my God, okay, and Joscelyn trying.
Can you want to talk tell us a little bit
more about Jocelyn.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
And hell like like what like?
Speaker 1 (36:07):
I mean? I know that I know that you're inspired
for your art by her life and she transitioned from
this earth. Right, Yes, So just whatever you want to
say in honor of her, feel free to say it
to everyone, just to share the beautiful light that she
held on this earth.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
I I honestly all the good stuff. I remember a
lot of stuff that she did. I remember she acted
in this in this play, like in this play slash
dance called Flabber. She did amazing in it. All the
like all the art that she did, it was amazing
like and she was she was always singing. I was
(36:50):
sometimes get tired of it, but uh but every single
time it was always good. But one one way that
she uh really helped me out was one she would
constantly call me like a mini her or something like that,
like the boy version of hers.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
What that is why I think she would call me.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
But how she really is inspiring me today is through
a little story that happened at work. I think a
year and a half ago or two years ago. I
was working at FedEx and I was working like upstairs
in this automated area basically, and I remember it was
(37:37):
getting super hot up there. I was like, wow, I
have a hoodie on. This is crazy, I'm about to
take this off. And super big mistake of me don't
take your hoodie off and lay it around your neck.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
In areas like that, bad things will happen.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
But I took it off and laid it around my neck,
and there was this there's the tiniest package that was
like kind of off track, and I reached over to
grab it, and then the automated rollers caught by neck
and I was I think I was being strangled for
at least a minute, I would say a minute or
(38:12):
a little bit longer. I remember like flaming my arms
around everywhere, going crazy, screaming. I heard from other people
down on the ground that almost everyone in the in
like my area or like half of the warehouse heard it.
I was like, wow, that's crazy. Didn't know I was
screaming out loud. But right when I was getting ready
(38:33):
to just accept it and kind of just move on,
I felt a little like hand on my shoulder, and
I heard Johnson's voice saying, not yet.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
David, I'm supposed to be interviewing you over here. Okay,
you had to take over the interview if you keep
on with these stories. Not yet.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
But once I heard that, I found the strength, Well,
no excuse me, I didn't find the strength. God gave
me the strength to hold myself up so just enough
so I could breathe, And he gave me the strength
to hold back an entire line of boxes heavy and light.
It Like, when I got out of it, I saw
(39:18):
the line it was backed up from me holding it.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
And when I.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Got down, I was I was like, I was like why,
like you know, like like why did that happen?
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Why did you say not yet?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
And I think I'm starting now, just now to figure
that out.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
And now that you've you're okay, now that you're figuring
it out, how do you feel that that's going to
position you for the rest of your life?
Speaker 3 (39:48):
David, I feel like it's going to position me in
a way that is amazing and true to God's word.
If I'm being honest, that's because I honestly don't know
how it's going to go. But however it's going to go,
I know it's going to be for my goods because
I'm doing it with God.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
Okay, yeah, okay, let me get my whole self together
over here. I'm hosting a show, and now you got
me all toe down over here, I'm about to go
take a nap. Listen, I think because I've gotten an
opportunity to see my four existing children that are here
on this earth and them witnessing their brother transition from Earth.
(40:30):
I never knew how it impacted them at the level
that it did until recently my one son started doing
some videos and I never saw it from that perspective.
I only saw it from my perspective as mom or
as even I could see it somewhere from a dad's perspective.
But you being the sibling and coming on today and
(40:52):
even sharing this isn't even what this episode is about
at all, but the fact that Jocelyn and all of
your siblings. But the point is that her light continues
to shine bright and her legacy lives on through you.
Is what's going to happen for the rest of time.
That she's one of your cloud of witnesses, just celebrating
and cheering from heaven as she's watching you shine.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
Okay, let me let me go on and see if
I could talk about something now even know, can you? Okay,
let me go. I'm gonna show somebody. I'm let me
go to some of your artwork.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
That's what I'm gonna Okay, I.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Just want to know what are some of the messages
behind some of the pieces of art that you have here.
Is that fair? Okay, let's let's just go through here
and you are If you haven't followed his social media page,
make sure you go to p r's pr the number
one Z Underscore Marine. He's just coming out making his
(41:52):
debut appearance right here on the Kim Jacobs Show. So
we see the followers that are there. That number should
be quadrupled, quin Chip, whatever it is. Make sure that
you all start following him and sharing it with other
people on your social media pages. Talk to us about
some of your images here.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Okay, So this chun chunly is from one of the
video games I was playing growing up. I think it's
called street Fighter, and this is one of the This
is one of the references that I came across Pinterest.
Pinterest is a really good app for artists, I will
say that. But I saw this on Pinterest and I
(42:31):
was like, I like this, and I remember doing the thing.
I took the reference, but then I changed it in
a couple of ways that I deemed fit basically, but this.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
Was I remember what I was doing then.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
This was like one of my decompression type of pieces
if that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
Nice. Nice, so ways for you to just kind of
stress relief as well. Right, Okay, talk to us about
this spider Man. Wait wait, let me do this too.
If you see a piece that I pop on the
screen and you know that that is a piece that
you're interested in, then make sure you let us know.
So piece number one is this particular piece right here
(43:16):
relabeling this number one art art piece number one, and
so let us know if you're interested in that, and
we'll make sure that David connects with you. Just DM
him at pr the number one Z Underscore Marine and
if you're just hearing it, dm him or go visit
his Instagram page and make sure that you express an
(43:37):
interest in whichever piece of art you're like. Okay, here's
the next image.
Speaker 3 (43:43):
Wow, I like when I go back to look all
my stuff I did, I'm still like, wow, I can't
believe I did that. But this was a means of
practice for me, and I remember drawing this on my
I think, on my fifteen than thirty minute break at work.
So this is another way for me to either pass
(44:04):
the time or just practice in general, like practice my
uh practice my lighting and shading. Because you're like, if
you look at it, it's man.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
It's very detailed. Yeah, and you said you did him
on a thirty minute lunch break.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
Just about Oh yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1 (44:22):
That's amazing. That's mega talent. Mega talent is what that is.
Oh wait, wait, wait, let me stop for a second.
I want to make sure I always acknowledge and give
honor where honor is due. And I see, oh, you
know what your mom said. We miss her dearly, we
miss her deally.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
I want to take you he's not gone though she's
not gone.
Speaker 1 (44:41):
She's constantly surrounding you all as one of your great
cloud of witnesses, and we know that. Thank you, Kindra
said Kendra, I love you so much, and thank you
for sharing your son and trusting him with in my
presence and my care. I really appreciate that. Oh, Vanessa says,
so proud of you, David, Thank you, Nana, and she
(45:06):
comes and visits our church since I'm so honored to
have Miss Vanessa on here today. I love you, love you,
love you, Miss Vanessa. Let's see yes, yes, yes, oh,
your dad is on Dwayne pastor Dwayne. But you said
a daddy was a pops. I think that's just so wonderful.
(45:29):
Glad to have you on. Uh, mister Butler, great answer.
Through the word is through the word. You're not leaving
that word out today. I love that unless the other
comments never leave that?
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Dave?
Speaker 1 (45:43):
What does that mean? Tell us?
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Man?
Speaker 3 (45:48):
I couldn't tell you to be honest, but I just
know she's been calling you that like forever and I
love it.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Well, you have to tell us now, Miss Sheila Kelly,
what does never leave that? Dave the Rave? What is
Dave the Rave mean? We want to hear that you
need to reveal, do a big reveal today.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
I'm curious, huh. I'm curious to know where Dave the
Rave had originated.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Well, that's we're gonna get that answer today, okay. And
then I also see powerful using the media to fulfill
your creativity. We talked about that you're gonna use social
media to have some of your own goals and dreams
become a reality. And do you believe that everyone should
be able to have their dreams become a reality.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Yes, because I feel like your reality is based off
how you feel about it, and it's also based off
what God wants to happen. Because God leaves our steps.
But if you think that if you say to yourself
nothing or like I suck or like none of my
stuff is going to get anywhere, It's not going to
(46:57):
get anywhere. But if you constantly say, you know what,
maybe it will get somewhere or maybe this is or
maybe maybe maybe or like you know, just looking towards
the future and already seeing yourself in it and already
living like it.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
I love it. I love it. So speaking of which,
seeing yourself in the future, already seeing it and already
living like it, what does that look like from your perspective?
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Faith?
Speaker 1 (47:24):
Faith, somebody make sure y'all are typing the comments that
are coming out of this young man, this anointed young
man of God, who is going to be continuing to
salt the earth by using the gifts and the talents
that God gave him. Listen, I can tell you who's
not going to go to their grade and all of
their gifts and talents are surrounding him and angry that
(47:44):
they were put in his body. Is not going to
be mister David Butler, because his gifts and talents are
going to thank God, because he salted this earth and
he left no stone unturned so I celebrate you today
saying that faith. Faith is the substance of things. Hope
for the it as things not seen. So you're hoping
for what to happen in your life.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
I am hoping for God to make a way for
me to be an animator or.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Whatever God wants me to be.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
So you're not going to put any limits on God.
It's an animator or whatever he deems appropriate for the
direction that He plans.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
For your life.
Speaker 3 (48:27):
I have full trust in God of my career because
I know that even if I do I could one
hundred percent do it myself. But I know that if
I do anything by myself, it's either going to crumble,
fail or never.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
Be thought of again.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
But if I give it to God, It'll be way
more than just the thought.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Wow. I don't know about everybody else's tuned in. I
believe that we should all be inspired, especially if for
parents tuning in because I would like to know sometimes
there's a lot of a strain between young adults and
then parents that are in my age category, your mom
and dad's age category, trying to parent these adult children.
(49:09):
What advice from your perspective, because this shows about how
you balance your life. So what advice would you give
us parents tuning in to be able to better parent
our adult children.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
Lead.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
Well, I'm I'm not a parent, so I can't say
too much, but I will say this as a as
a child of one leading leading by example in faith
and leading by example in this everyday life. Because if
you want, if you want your child to be a
better person, you have to be a better person yourself,
because how can they base any of their knowledge or opinions.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
They're just going to go to anything else. We live
in an age of.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
The black box, right, and there's so many things that
can happen with the black box, Like they can get
inspiration from secular rapids, they can get inspiration from so
many people voting right anywhere.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
It can be absolutely anything.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
But if you want your child to really thrive, you
have to thrive yourself, because where they're gonna get that from,
If it's not you.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
That's good advice. Listen, y'all. I hope y'all are learning
something from this young artist that is inspired by God
to share his gifts and talents with the world. We're
gonna pull some of these images back in again because
I don't want y'all to miss the opportunity. He's willing
to sell some of his first pieces of art right
through the Kim Jacobs Show, and so he's gonna get
(50:35):
the opportunity to reinvest back into his business. We put
this image up for you, and that's one of the
pieces that he talked about. We also popped this one up,
which is great. He did that during a lunch break.
Y'all talk to us about this piece.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
Same thing I did. I did that also on the
lunch break.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
It was a part of my pre I don't want
to say practice program I have for myself, but it's
a part of practice that I have for myself as well.
I saw it on Pinterest and I was like, wow,
that's smoking something. But but but it's it's really cool.
I liked it.
Speaker 2 (51:09):
It was like another expression of what I'm thinking about
during the day.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Okay, talk to us about this. Look at look at
the detail.
Speaker 3 (51:20):
Yeah, and there's multiple there's a multiple images on this too.
I'm pretty sure I remember uploading multiple.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
Let's see. Is there another one?
Speaker 2 (51:28):
Oh it was in the same post.
Speaker 1 (51:31):
Oh, in the same post. Okay, Now I went too
and and did too much. Let's see. Okay, oh oh, oh, yeah, beautiful,
look at that. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
Okay, it was the result of.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
It was a result of me regurgitating information from YouTube.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
Wow. So you're you're getting inspired from all different areas,
using social media, using AI to your advantage to be
able to put your thoughts in and get some color
scheme ideas and then move forward with your actual artwork exactly.
Speaker 3 (52:13):
And at the same time, while I'm doing that, I'm
also learning a lot about color theory and yeah, and
like lighting and stuff. It's it's awesome.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
Now, where do you see your art in the next
like five years or so?
Speaker 3 (52:27):
From your perspective, in the next five years, I either
see my art in a portfolio ready to be sent
to a studio, or I see my art in either
I see my art in either a church.
Speaker 2 (52:44):
Or a gallery. I wanted to be a portfolio for
an animation studio.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
Okay, okay, this is this is incredible. So I'm going
to let's see I see other comments. So you're going
to be in a portfolio studio, you all is what
he Let's all put a word of encouragement, a prayer comment,
a man, we believe God, we trust the report of
(53:12):
the Lord, we claim it. We declare and decreate in
the name of Jesus. We can ask anything in his name.
It can be so two or more of us on
here today, and we are gathered together in His name.
So we claim nothing but victory over David Butler's life.
So proud of you.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
David.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
Is what your nana says, free spirit is, which that's
what that means, free spirit, Dave the Raid.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
Huh, I want to write that down. That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
You never knew that.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
No, I never knew that. That is cool.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
So all of the time, your aunt Sheila is trying
to just elevate you to higher heights and you don't
even know. She's just in Dave the Raid, Dave the Raid,
Dave this free spirit, and here God is just elevating you.
Hire and hire all right, Yeah. Can Mados is one
from a promised Fellowship church. You know you met her
(54:04):
before and she said, oh my, oh my, I was
trying to share this over to the to the church page.
But anyway, wow, wow, your nana says, not yet.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
Yeah, not yet. Those two simple words change.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
What does that mean to you? Tell us?
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Not yet means full disclosure.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
Back then I was probably the most prideful I could
have been. I would literally look down on some people
and like at my job and see them moving, so
I'll be like, I could do this like ten times faster.
But I was also masking a lot of depression because
at that time I wanted to I wanted to leave.
(54:55):
I'll say that I wanted to leave. But then and
I had the not yet told to me, and that
was like.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
Like it was it was something hmm, not yet, not yet.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
And when you when you when you heard those words,
how did it change the the course of your life?
Speaker 3 (55:23):
After I heard After I heard those words, at first
I was angry, but then I started to think, wow,
I could have just lost everything because right now I
have a girlfriend, Trinity.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
Love her.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
But I was, hey, Trinity, I don't have a picture
of you, Trinity, but I'm excited about you.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
I was like, I was thinking in my head like, wow,
I could have I could have lost her. I could
have lost everything that I'm trying to I could have
lost everything I'm working towards. I could have lost so
many people I could have lost basically, and after that,
I was also thinking, but if I did, what would
(56:07):
have happened?
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Because at that time was nowhere near God. I was.
I was doing like.
Speaker 3 (56:15):
Meditation, chakra stuff like like basically divination. I was far
from God. But after that, I remember my dad giving
me this this little tiny book with like all of
Jesus's words, and what I would do. What I did
after that was I started to read that little book.
(56:40):
I took it to work, and I also started to
take the Bible to work and reading it because I'm like,
there's a lot of stuff that I've just I just
don't know. And I wouldn't have known it if at
that time I died.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Wow, So you would have never come into the knowledge
of some truth to even be free to know that.
Now if you were to transition, now you know where
your home, your permanent home, is going to be, right,
and I would like for you to proclaim it, since
we're on a show that we all about being able
to share the goodness of the Lord. Where would home
(57:19):
be for you permanently when you do.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Transition home with home for me would be with the Lord,
because with the Lord is home, and with and without
the Lord there is nothing.
Speaker 1 (57:32):
Wow. And even though you know when people transition from
this earth, everyone, especially when we say that we are
believers in Christ ourselves, then that's where we ultimately desire
to go ourselves. And so it's it's not a I don't.
I don't. I look at death very differently now because
I feel like my son and all of my grandparents,
(57:56):
all of my grandparents are ultimately where I desire to
one day be permanently. This is just my temporary home.
And at an early age, in my opinion, because you're
a young man, how do you encourage other young people
to see it from that perspective that this is your
temporary home in heaven is going to be their home?
(58:16):
Any any input or thoughts or a vice.
Speaker 3 (58:20):
I would say, I'll say it the way I see
it for now. The way I see it is all
of us are of like a piece of light, that
light being God. Once we released that light in us,
it goes right back to the source, if we knew
(58:41):
what that source was.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
Interesting, now it's real dark over there all of a sudden.
What happened? Did the lights call?
Speaker 2 (58:47):
No?
Speaker 1 (58:48):
Or is that some artist stuff? Is that mystical? What's happening?
Speaker 2 (58:51):
No? It's my dog. He's being weird. He's like looking
outside the window.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
Oh okay, I was like, what's going on, okay, as
long as you comfortable. I was just like, maybe it's
some artists theory. I don't know. I'm over my head
some of the stuff. But that's that's that's really good.
So you don't recommend that any parents give up on
their children at any phase, no matter how depressed they
are or do you what are your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (59:13):
Never give up on your children because you never know
what anyone is going through.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
At any time of the day.
Speaker 3 (59:20):
Someone could someone someone could be going through the worst
moments of their life. But be like, oh, no, everything's okay.
I've done that many times a lot and no one
knew about it. And but yeah, I would say you
never You just never know. So it's always better to
reach out, stick your head out, stick your neck out
(59:43):
for them, even if it's nothing.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
Even if it's nothing, even if it doesn't look like
it's anything, even if they're saying, no, leave me alone.
Because there are some kids that that are really foul
towards their parents. What do you recommend in situations like that,
Because then some parents be like, I should just leave
them alone or leave her alone because they're asking me to.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
My recommendation for that is to follow after our father
in heaven because at all times, he's always listening to
people rejecting, always listening to people say not I don't
want to hear about God, and not I don't want
to hear about Jesus, not I don't care. He always
has to listen to that back at the same time,
all of us were still all of us still came
(01:00:23):
from him, just like when you're a parent, your kids
come from you. So I mean, and and even for
the people, take me for example, for me, God had
to step in and take me from what was getting
ready to take me right and he's still to this
(01:00:45):
day gives me the space I need.
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
But it's still close, just like what do you mean
like being in the same house.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Say it again, Say say it on a different so
I can understand it better.
Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Even if like even if we're far from God, we're
still close to Him because we can be far from
take it in like a like a house example, we
can be in a different room and be alone by ourselves,
but we still have the parent in the house.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
That's right, that's right, that's good. So never give up
on your children, no matter how you slice it, no
matter how bad it looks because the child could turn
around and realize that it's your comment not yet that
saves their entire outcome of their lives. Wow. Even though
some parents can just wash their hands of their children,
(01:01:36):
you're advising don't do.
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
That, Oh, because they're yours and God would never do
it to us.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
Wow. Well, I have to put a picture of your
nana up because I found a picture. I was like,
I'm finding me a picture of this Vanessa because I
love her. So, hey, it's Vanessa Nana over there. I
just wanted to just acknowledge her as well. And what
advice would you give other young people that are trying
to use their gifts for God's glory?
Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
If you're trying to use your gift for God's glory,
the best advice I can give you is to look
to God first, because you can't do anything in God's
glory but not be with him or you know, even
hear from him.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
Okay, it wouldn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
Go to God first, because God is waiting for you
to come to him.
Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
Okay, go to God first, everybody. He's waiting for you
to come to him. He's already with you, He's already
invited you he's already opened the door for you. He's
waiting just for you to accept the invitation. Okay, I'm
gonna put these pictures back up one more time because
I want people to Let's go through them real quickly again,
because I really want people to see some of the
imagery that you've created, some of the art and masterpieces
(01:02:49):
that you've created. So let's go to them one more time.
Any and you tell me where to stop on any
of them. This picture right here, it's a girl submerged
and water. Mm hmm uh what do you? What do you?
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
When you can I remember seeing that that I can't.
Speaker 3 (01:03:09):
I know that it was during a time where I
was feeling much like that photo under water.
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
Hmm.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
I felt like I was at that time.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
I felt like I was kind of drowning through the
stuff that I had to get done or the stuff
that I was going through at the time.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
What about this one?
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Oh that one? Uh? I remember doing that one like
a while ago, like a I was like a year
or two ago.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
I was also like digital art practice, I up blowed
a lot of my practice stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
But people can see like the like.
Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
The like the timeline of it wow, because if you
here to scroll down like all the way it gets
bad in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
No, no way, it's not bad. This is incredible, not
long now, and that's what what is your opinion?
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
So I remember drawing that when I was on a
trip with Trinity and her family. It felt like when
I was on that trip, it felt like God was
at the door, if that makes sense, right, like like
God's at the door, He's knocking, He's about to you know,
(01:04:23):
likely you know, you know the what is it called
what they call it the rapture?
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Oh yeah, that's what was going through my head. And
that's you see that? Can you you man.
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
In the center of it, that little door or gate whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Is right here?
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Wow, that was my.
Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
Depiction of the door that God is standing at.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Wow. Wow wow. Yeah, this right here is just it's
so inspiring to me because as it lets me know
that we can never put a limit on what God
is wanting to do through us, and we never know
how it's going to how it's going to change the world.
(01:05:12):
And so I'm so grateful that. Let me go back here,
I'm trying to figure out how to excite at this. Okay,
let me go ohup, mis sell one more. I'm gonna
share the screen one more time because I saw some
other pieces. And again, all of these pieces, if I'm
not mistaken, they are for sale. So you can get
a piece that you know speaks volumes. It speaks directly
(01:05:33):
to someone that you are trying to encourage on their journey.
Look at this one.
Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
Oh and that was deep.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
What does that one mean to you?
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
This one was I was when I was in the
as the as the photo show is a really dark place.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
And that picture is of me.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
I use the reference of me sitting on on my
through floor like that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
And those little.
Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
Dots in the background, those little white dots, those are
supposed to be like eyes.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Oh wow, just watching you. Somebody's watching you, right.
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
And in the little caption I said, I said, the
less the scarier, you know, you know, you know people
say the more the merrier, right, it's kind of like
a twist on that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
It's said, oh man, because what you're saying is that
you need more and this in times like that, you
need more around you and surrounding you. Right, Oh my goodness,
this is just let me pull this one up to
this just looks very detailed as well with the young
lady with her blouse and her hair with all the waves.
Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
That is a really good photo of Trinity I used.
Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
I used the reference of a completely different person. I
use a completely different person for this photo. But all
I did was I also took a reference of Trinity
and put it on this Wow. So it's kind of
like a like a like a mesh if that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
Yes, yes, you have so much artwork, and you all listen.
I'm encouraging you to definitely go and check out p
R one Z Underscore Marine and look at all of
the different pieces that are available for sale right on
his page, and he has different price points for them.
(01:07:33):
But if you know that you're going to be definitely
checking this out, put it in the comments section. I'm
checking it out. I'm buying some art. I'm doing some
holiday shopping with David Butler. Make sure you let us
know because we want to make sure that we support
this young man on his journey. Is there anything that
you didn't say on this episode that you really wanted
to get out to the world.
Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
No, I think I got it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
I think I got about weight that I saw. I
saw one photo on there. You can go back to
just first second.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
Okay, let me go right back. Hold on, okay, I'm
going right back. Give me a second. I'm pulling it in.
There we go.
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
Okay, scroll scroll, yeah, scroll, just a little bit to
the down, down or up up? That one always to
the left with the different faces on it. This one,
oh yeah, you see you see the what is it called?
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
The caption It.
Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
Says recreating number eighty three recreation recreation or recreation of
one from before Dream by Joscelyn.
Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
That was one of the sketches in my sister's sketch
book that I really loved because I remember when she
was sketching this out the first time she came to
me and asked me for one of my like lego men,
and I was like, what do you need my what
do you mean my lego man for it? Because I
was using it, but she was using it for this drawn.
(01:09:12):
If you see that little that little red guy with
like the shark.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
Teeth, the red guy, yes, I see him.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
That was my lego man.
Speaker 1 (01:09:22):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
And I really loved.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
This photo because like, it's it's super it's it's it's strange,
but it makes sense and one of my.
Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Another one of my twists. That was that that was
on there was like that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
It was that circle with the koy fish and a
couple of characters in there.
Speaker 1 (01:09:45):
Let me put it back up again, hold on, okay there.
Speaker 4 (01:09:50):
Okay, right, cook guy out of it for a second.
Click it in like more, uh go back?
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
Oh where am I going?
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Uh? You're scrolling up and almost there here right there?
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Yeah, okay. I was like, that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
Yeah, that one was because you see the little little
smiling thing at the bottom right, Yes, that was taken
from that same drawing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
Yeah, I like, like, I personally love this one because
it's I have that one on a city.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
That one's like really cool to me. And I called
it imagination.
Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
Imagination that's a good word. That's a good description of
just people using their imagination. And you don't know what
you can come up with and what God can do
through you if you just use your imagination and let
him guide you and see what's gonna do to inspire
other people? Yeah, okay, all right, wow, all right. Any
(01:11:02):
words of encouragement for people that have goals, dreams, they
don't know where to start, they're procrastinating, they are like
just pretty much giving up, but they don't have to
any closing thoughts on that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
My advice for that is too Oh yeah, get out
of your own way.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Somebody make sure you type that get out of your
own way.
Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
Yep, because I had this. I had this thought.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
I think like a week and a half ago, of
a road with a fork in it, but there's traffic,
but all the traffic is yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:11:45):
You gotta draw that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
Yeah, that's a good idea. I probably should.
Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
You definitely have to draw that getting out of your
own way. And sometimes we're overthinking things too much to
the point where nothing happens as a result all of that.
It's just like everything stagnant and nothing's moving forward. All
of this great artwork is already available, and it's available now.
People are going holiday shopping and they're trying to figure
(01:12:12):
out how to get people go and buy these same
images from different department stores when they can just get
it right from pr one Z Underscore Marine on Instagram,
so they don't even have to go and purchase an
apple for a teacher here when you tell me about.
Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
This apple, that apple is when I was studying lighting
and shadow, Okay, and they call it what do they
call it in digital or they call it rendering, like
when you make something look like photo realistic.
Speaker 1 (01:12:47):
Yeah, that's beautiful. So there you have it. If you
want to give an apple to a teacher, give a
piece of this artwork right from here. If you know
someone's dealing with some dark moments, letting them know that
they're not alone, not alone on this journey. Do you
see those eyes peeling in the back, guess what. We're
here for you. We believe in you, we see you.
(01:13:07):
It's so important that people know that they are not
on an island by themselves. And I see all of
these images and I know that these are different. What
are those anime and people? Right? Yep, because my kids
know how to do this stuff. The anime Naruto, that's what.
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
That is, yep.
Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
And it is it looks just like Naruto. So these
are really true looking images. And what's this one? Tell
us about that one?
Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Oh? Man?
Speaker 3 (01:13:33):
I thought, oh wow, I thought this was like I
thought this was like the extent of my skill.
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
When I first drew this. I remember drawing this while
I was taking some.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Yeah, while I was taking some art classes, and I thought, like,
whoa like that came out of me?
Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
But it was like another one of my practice sketches.
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
And here, and you do not know when you were
doing a practice sketch that would lead to all of
these level of drawings.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Yeah, that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
That is that is just amazing. Listen. I know a
lot of people had a lot of questions and comments,
and I didn't want to end without just acknowledging a
few more. Get out of your own way, doctor h
did he justify? Says this? Defy says, get out of
your own way? Awesome. Your mom says one of your favorite,
his favorite pieces. Your dad said, uh, that looks just
(01:14:36):
like Trinity. Yes, like Trinity, Yes, just like Oh my gosh,
give that piece of Trinity. Right. Wonderful interview. Great job,
is what Mother Vanessa says. She may I want to
call Mother Vanessa Banana. My god, what an interview. Thank
you all so much for tuning into this episode of
(01:14:56):
The Kim Jacobs Show today. Let's see yes, yes, oh no,

free spirit, wasn't Dave the rave is not what that means.
We don't know what Dave the rave means? Is what
he was asking, So, David, oh you had a christ
(01:15:17):
like foundation? Because of your parents. Your parents should lead
by example. Yes, parents should lead by example. Doesn't yet
appear what it looks like. That's what mother Vanessa says.
And great job, David, so proud of you. It was
just a nickname, she said. It's no rhyme or reason.
It was just a that's what Sheila. She's like, y'all. Look, Auntie,
(01:15:38):
Sheila is just like. Look, I was just giving you
a nickname. It didn't have it, she said, I just
I just made it up when he was a little fellow,
when he would be in the car with Nana. That's
all for something, right, Dave the Rave, Yes, dynamically chosen,
(01:16:00):
