(02:35):
Read is the perfect person for us to talk about
this topic with So let me introduce her to you.
Tonique Read is an ordained minister and pastor, and she
was born in Jamaica. She migrated to the United States
when she was a young girl. I will let her
tell you her own backstory, but from a very early age,
she knew something was destined to happen in her life.
(02:58):
I'm making them my own bios. I don't spoil her backstory, okay,
but she did give her life to Christ and hence
his pastor Tonique Read. She believes that everyone should experience
the true love of God and build a strong relationship
with Him, and she does that through her passionate preaching
and teaching of God's word. She also enjoys family and
(03:23):
her free time. You really enjoy spending quality time with
her family. So welcome Pastor Tony Greedy.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Thank you, Thank you again so much for having me.
Happy to be here, happy to share my story, my
testimony with anyone who's listening who wants to hear Amen.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Amen. Amen. So you know you appreach it when you
say anybody that wants to hear it, Amen, Like ahead
and type it in the comments section. We typeing amen
a lot on this episode. Amen, So be it. So
be it. Now. You were born in Jamaica, take us
back on your journey when you were.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
I was born and raised in Jamaica and I came here.
I migrated to the US at the age of nine.
But while I was in Jamaica, I was living with
my aunt because my mother was in the USA. And
my aunt was a very passionate person about God. Her
fate was very strong and still is very strong to
(04:22):
this day. So she kept us in church, and she
was what you would call radical.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I remember her.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
She would preach outside her front door, and whoever wanted
to hear, she will tell him about Jesus. I remember,
at a very young age, knowing that I wanted to
give my life to Christ. Just didn't understand and fully
at a young age, what that looks like, but knowing
that that's what I wanted.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
So you knew you because was it because of your
aunt and how radical she was that inspired you? What
inspired you to want to give your life to Christ?
Speaker 3 (04:59):
So part of it is because of her, because of
how I see how she had a hunger for God
and how she went after God, but also seeing God
worked in her life, knowing that God was not just
an idea, but he was really very tangible or very touchable. Okay,
so that made me wanted to have that own experience.
(05:19):
But as I said, in my nine year old mind
or in my young mind, I didn't quite understand what
that looks like or what that looked like. So as
I got older and start of experiencing God for myself,
then I understood, Okay, this is more than just what
you hear. This is very real. This is a very heartwarming,
(05:40):
and God is very personal. So it made me want
to seek after him more. But in your mind you
have Okay, when I get to a certain age, y'a
will give my life to Christ, right right, But that's
not how it works. When God wants you, he will
pull on your heart and it's definitely up to you
to answer.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
That's good. So when he wants you, he will pull
on your heart. I hope y'all will take his notes
tonight already, because we're talking about how important it is
to have that true relationship with God. And even though
you may have people that you look up to and
admire and you can see their personal journey and what
their connection is with God, until you have your own
(06:20):
personal encounter. It's just like you just looking through a window,
but when you enter into that room and you commune
with our Lord and our Savior, it takes things to
a whole different level. And that happened for you in
two thousand, is what I saw in your notes.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Right, Yes, definitely in two thousand, because that was the
year of the why two K was coming. You didn't
know what was happening. It was the hype of everything.
So it made my heart just really started wrenching. Its
just my mind was racing. I just started thinking, like God,
what if you do come, What's going to happen? So
I made up my mind sure enough that I was
going to give my life to God. I was going
(06:58):
to accept Jesus as my Lord and savior come December thirty.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
First, you know when you go to the new Year's easy, right, right?
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Right?
Speaker 3 (07:06):
So sure enough, my pastor call you know who wants
to be saved? And I completely chickened out, completely chicking out.
So I remember him coming over to me and he said,
I thought you were going to get baptized, and I
said I was.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
He said, well what happened? I said, I don't know.
I just change my mind.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
He said, I just I want to ask you one question.
But he said, what would you do if Jesus come tonight?
I said, I don't have an answer. He said, you
want to have an answer. So I said, okay. That
was a Friday night. I clearly remember it was Friday night,
and I said, okay, on Sunday I'm gonna get baptized.
And sure enough, Sunday I gave my life to Christ.
(07:43):
And that was in January two thousand and thank God
is twenty twenty five and he is still keeping me.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Amen, y'all go amen again. Amen.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
So from from two thousand to twenty twenty five, you
made a conscious choice that you to give your life
to God. What did given your life to God look like?
From your perspective? Because it looks different from a lot
of different people's perspectives.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
So in the beginning, for me, it was, as I said, initially,
coming into the concept that you have is kind of
what you observe around you. You think is just going
to church, it's just thinking you know to to do it, to.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Do good as much as you can.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
But for me, it kind of took a real change
and a real turn about a year and a half
in because I was going to church and I was
doing these things, but.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
There was still not a connect there. It was still
something that I couldn't.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
You know, you're looking at the person next thing, you're saying, Okay, God,
why am I not now that you're going to experience
God the same way everyone else do?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
But why am I not having that experience? Or why
am I not experiencing this?
Speaker 3 (08:54):
So it made me started to kind of step back
and look and say, okay, what is not connecting you
for me? So as I went back to my past
and we were talking and I was explaining to him,
like it's something with spiritually is.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Not connecting from me. So he said, what do you mean?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
So we started we had a discussion and he said
to me, when you are worshiping God or when you're
reading your word, what is it that you're doing?
Speaker 2 (09:18):
And I said, what do you mean?
Speaker 3 (09:19):
He said, when you're singing the songs, when you're singing
worship songs, when you're reading the Word, are you taking
it as God personally talking to you and you personally
talking back to him? I said no, He said, no,
this relationship is a personal experience. He said, when you
are singing. You just don't sing songs to sing songs.
(09:40):
When you're singing, you're visualizing that these songs you're singing
onto your God, you're singing onto your Father, You're singing
onto the one who save you.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
And for me, that kind of clicked and I said,
oh my God.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
So now when I started going to church, I went
on my own private time. I started connecting that these
songs whatever I'm worshiping, what what of her songs were playing,
I'm singing it onto God and I'm allowing the songs
to minister back on to me. These were God's words
to me, and the same thing in reading his work.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
And I started realizing.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
My heart was changing, right, I started feeling the presence
of God more so the more that I started feeling him,
the more I wanted it. I wanted to understand because
as I said, it took me about a year and
a half to get connected. And within it that year
and a half, I had some ups and some downs.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
I remember one night.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
When it was it was during it it was years ago,
and it was like thunderstorms where it was just thunder
and lightning and it was crazy, and I remember being
in my apartment and it was raining hard and thundering
and lightning, and I just knew God was coming and
I just started weeping and I said, God, You're coming
and I'm going to hell. And I remember saying this,
(10:52):
and I was saved. So I knew something needed to change,
something needed to happen. And when I started drawing closed
sir to him, when I started reading his words, spending
time in his word, taking the time to know that
every word God has written for me, because I needed
to understand what kind of God loved me like this,
(11:13):
because for that year and a half I was doing
everything that I could with no remorse, with no accountability,
but still going to the church, but no connection. But
even in that, He kept me and he covered me,
because I remember once that God started pulling me and
(11:34):
my heart started yearning after him, and I started going
to church more and just connecting more. I remember going
to a service one night with a friend and it
was a small church, maybe about twenty something people, and
I remember the passive precia awesome word. I don't remember
the worry it was, but I know she blessed me,
and I remember she called the line and she said,
(11:55):
I want to pray for some people in here.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
And my friend was before me. No, I was before
my friend, and my friend was behind me, okay, And
she prayed for me, and I was a little bit
scared because of all the things that I know that
I was doing right. But she prayed for me, and
she spoke life yes, and she began to prophesy the
word of the Lord over me, like the things that
(12:19):
God had in store for me. And honestly, in that
moment when I said in.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
My mind, I said, oh, this lady don't know what
she's talking about, because God is not gonna bless me,
not with all the things that I'm doing, He's not
gonna bless me. And she prayed and I said thank you,
and I want to sat down. Then she started praying
for my friend behind me. And my friend at the
time was going through a lot of things, and she
(12:44):
was just reading his story like a book, and it
made me start paying attention because she didn't know anything
about him.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
But she just started prophesying what he was.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Going through at the time, about how God was going
to bring him out and how God was gonna bless him.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
And I started to take notes.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
And when my friend came I sat back down and
I said to him, Oh, my God, she doesn't know
anything about you, and he said no, And it made
me go back and start to remember what she said
about me, and I started writing it down.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
So she was speaking life.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
She was speaking life.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
God was alarming her through the power of the Holy
Spirit to speak life. And I said, God, how can
you speak.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
So well of me?
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Ah, when I am out here doing everything I can
and not having no reverence, or not having any relationship,
or not having no commitment, or not having no accountability
onto you, but still salvation exactly exactly, So I wanted
to understand.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
So this sent me on a chase.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
So no, I needed to know this God that loved
me so much that you were covering me while I
was yet in sin, even.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
While I was in salvation. So I needed to know
this guy.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
So I started reading his words and my pastors said
to me, he said, listen.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Listen is what I want you to do.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
He gave me a guide. He said, I want you
to start with one of the Gospels. He said, take
one of the Gospels. I want you to start reading
from there. And he said, as you read from there,
just keep on going. But I took the time and
I read the gospels because the Gospel spoke about how
Jesus came and he died for us.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
So God showed his love for us to Jesus, and
it made me start to understand and feeling the love
of God more. And then from there.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
I just kept on reading. I kept on reading and reading,
and it just made me know God more, and it
made me wanted to serve him more. It made me
wanted to give him my heart more. So God's word
just became alive in me. And say, this word became alive.
God became more real to me, and connection was there.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Okay, y'all amen, somebody type amen, because you just dropped
so many powerful nuggets. One of the things that you
said is that you were saved, so you already knew
that you loved the Lord.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
You already loved.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Him enough to claim him as your personal savior, but
not enough to change.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
The behavior exactly.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
And what I consider that is sanctification being set apart
for God's use. It's one thing to be saved. Yes,
we can accept. Because we accept, we believe, and we
suss out of our mouths and we believe in our
heart that Jesus is Lord, and he died for our sins,
and those are things that allow you to be saved.
And when it comes to sanctification, that's a whole different level.
(15:31):
It's like if I really want to be used and
set apart for God's.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Use exactly exactly, because what I was doing once I
came my pastors said at the time, there's saving faith,
but there's living faith. There's faith that brings you to
salvation to as you said that we accept Jesus as
a Lord as savior, But how do I now learn
to live for him, to be set apart to how
(15:56):
how do I know get to know him more? That
my heart is transformed to where I wanted to desire
to live a life that's pleasing to Him. So that's
what got me in the Word. Because we cannot know
God without his word. He is his word. How do
we get to know him is through his word. So
once I started reading the Word, the Word was literally
watching and transforming my heart. It was my heart begin
(16:21):
to just yearn more for God. It made my heart
begin to love God more than I wanted to live
a life to please him. The things that I found
hard in the beginning to give up. It wasn't so hard.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Anymore, that's right. It became more easier to lay down.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Those things for him because my heart was being transformed
and changed.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
So now I understand the scripture was that says we
are a new creature.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
That new creature becomes new when we now profess that
life and actively living out that faith. As my pastor
was teaching me, it's not enough to just have saving faith.
Now you got to live this thing out. You got
to walk out and how you're going to walk it out.
You got to get closer to God. Yes, you have
to draw closer. Yes, that was I think.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
One of the other profound points that I heard from
when you were sharing your backstory is that you made
a conscious decision based on what your pastor, so that
was a key person in your life. He was like,
what kind of communication are you having with your Lord?
Are you actually saying that I'm doing this as unto
God for real? Or is it just something that's just
(17:29):
a check in a box, a checking a box. And
that's a big difference. So I love how your pastor
advised you because it changed your life.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
It really did save my life.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
And it helped me now to when our mentor or
speak to new converts or new believers, that, especially when
we have new believers new bathing in Christ, we have
to give them a guideline. We have to walk with them,
we have to instruct them, we have to lead them,
we have to impart into them, help them to build
that personal connection. And I do that when I mentor
(18:01):
or when I when I speak to new converse. But
I do it especially to my my own family that
that is saved. Like I have nieces and nephews that
gave their life to Christ at a young age. And
I'm like, listen, the best thing you can have is
a relationship with God.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Yes, don't forsake that.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Spend your time building on that, because out of the
relationship with God, out of drawn closer to Jesus is
where everything else.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Is birth out.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
That's right. So once you.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Get that connection, once you stay as he told me,
he stay up at feet. Once you stay at his
feet where you're learning, where you're pulling on him, when
you're spending time in worship.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Then God will show you.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Then he will reveal, then he will position, then he
will call, then he would send for it so spend.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Let that be the most.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Important part of it is gaining that relations relationship and
not just gaining it, but nurturing it, nurture, grow, yes.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
And knowing when not to have so much other busyness
taking over to our lives. That really win. Appreciate the
Lord and sit at his feet and just learn and glean,
just learn, and not worry about the china or the
dishes or the disciples coming through town. And I mean, now,
don't get me wrong. We want to make sure the
Lenden is clean. Of course, we want to make sure
(19:15):
things are right. But at the end of the day,
we want to choose the better of this exactly, and
that's exactly with our Lord. So when did you When
did you know you were called to ministry? Because at
nine years old, you already knew you wanted to be safe.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Not My aunt tells the story all the time where
we had what we calling verandahs in Jamaica.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
But if you call him porches here on the porch.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
So I would stay on the porch and I will
play church all day and I will sing my heart out.
My aunt telling stories all the time. So I was
sitting there and I was I was singing, I will
have my own church. So I knew at nine that I,
like I said, I wanted to be saved. I just
didn't understand what that looked like, right, So you know,
the idea changes. I got older, but I knew as
my heart, as I said, was surrendering on too God,
(20:00):
and I was drawing closer and having this relationship and
building up you know, my my I always like to say,
my my access way into God, or my access way
that I connect the most is to worship. I love
the Word of God. Well, worship is somewhere that it
empties me out. Worship reveals my heart. So I would
spend a lot of time in worship, and God was
(20:23):
molding me and he was pulling on me.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
So I remember again my pastor came to me.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Then he's no longer my pastor, but at the time
it was Bishop Sharnde Bartley.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I remember him coming to me.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Again and he was like, what is it that you
you see the Lord calling you to do? And I
didn't understand, and I was I would say, I call
I see him calling me. I guess like in a
deeper relationship and in the deeper connection, And he listened
and he said okay. He said, all right, we're going
to have this conversation again, okay, And they left it
(20:58):
at that.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
So as I and on, I remember I.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Had went away and while I was away, the Lord
began to speak to me.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
And the Lord, the Lord deals with me a lot
through visions, and he deals with me a lot through dreams.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
So I remember getting this dream where my pastor came
to me again again, and it said, I'm getting ready
to anoint you, and I'm getting ready to call you
into I'm.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Willing to ordain you to be a minister. This was
a dream, but at the.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Time at his church it was not minutes. It would
go from evangelists, but it.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Was not a lot of ministers.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
When I woke up, I said, God, it doesn't make
sense because they don't really have ministers. It's not really
a lot of ministers at the church. But maybe evangelists
like something like that. Right, And the Lord came to
me again and he specifically told me in a dream,
he said, I'm calling you to minister my word, he said,
I am calling you to be assaulter.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
That's exactly what he said. So I woke up the
morning and I look at what salter.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
What salt does? It preserves, it keeps, So I said, okay, God.
So when I came back, he called me and we
had a conversation.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
I never forget.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
It was a Sunday night, and he said, I'm going
to ordain you a minister. And I said to him,
I know. He said, how do you know? I said,
the Lord already told me that's right, that's right now.
I was prepared. So when he first came to me,
he saw that I wasn't ready, so he said, okay,
let's pick this conversation up again. And by then the
Lord said, I'm going to prepare you for what I'm
(22:36):
calling you onto. So that's how I knew, because the
Lord told me, this is what I'm getting reaised, this
is what I'm calling you to do.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
That's so good, that's so good. And having that your
bishop or pastor at the time to just say, you
know what, you go back, go back to the drawing
board and see what God is going to deposit in
your spirit. He knew that God was going to deposit
exactly then you had already had knowledge of and so
once then you had your dream and further confirmation. So
(23:05):
God has a way of being able to pull everything
together so that it makes perfect.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Sense for you exactly. You know.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
That's good. Good, So being a pastor and ultimately accepting
the call and becoming a leader of God's people. What's
been one of the more rewarding experiences for you as
a pastor?
Speaker 3 (23:26):
One of the most rewarding experience for me, of course,
is whenever someone give their life to Jesus, but more importantly,
when they get connected, when it becomes real for them,
when it comes, when it becomes more than what I
have said or what somebody else has said, or what
your mother has said, or what you see in church,
but when it's a connection, when you had that experience
(23:48):
with God for yourself. Because that's why I said I
would love for everyone to experience the love of God.
Because when you experience the love of God, a I
believe your life will never be the same, That's right,
And then no one can take that away from you.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
No one can take that away from you. That I'm
gonna have interjecting on purpose because I need y'all to
type that when you have an experience with God. She's
talking today about how to have that true experience with God, nobody,
no matter whether they like you, support you, endorse you,
just talk about you, even if they are your best friends.
(24:22):
It doesn't matter. Nobody can take that love that you
have between you and God away from you. Somebody type
that in the comment section.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Amen as Zach, I feel like no one can take
it away from you because they're gonna be challenges, There're
gonna be situations that arise, they're gonna be discouragement.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
But when you have that, it becomes your anchor. It
becomes what you hold on to because you've experienced your
experienced Christ.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
For yourself, so you know he's real. You know this
love he has for you, it is real. It's no
longer something you're just reading about or something you're hearing about.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
No.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Now, I'm living in the experience office love. I'm feeling
his love and I know that his love for me
is good, and I know his thoughts for me are good.
So when you have that experience with God for yourself,
no one can take away from that away from you.
And what it does it anchors you and keeps you
encouraged as you continue to grow, as you continue to go.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
That's good. I see some comments too over here, so
let me make sure I pop y'all's comments up. Let's see,
it's important to have a personal relationship with God, Charmaine says,
So make sure we know that it is important to
have that personal relationship. Nobody can take it away from you.
Also see that no one can take God's love away
from you. And Pastor Tonique, that's a quote that she
(25:40):
actually did. I spell your name right, Yeah, okay, she said.
I also see you all over there on Instagram. Make
sure y'all type your comments and I'll make sure that
I pop them up on the screen or say something
about them as well. So, now, as a pastor, it's
so important to stay rooted and grounded. But literally, I'm
a pastor too, so that's the real Oh, Amen, I
(26:01):
can speak to that. We're in a sisterhood here, and
I know how challenged it is, especially with so many
things happening in society, to really stay rooted and grounded
in your leadership role. Any thoughts on how you're able
to maintain that integrity and that balance really as a
(26:24):
leader of God's people, Amen.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Part of it.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
I like to say that everything we do in God
is a conscious decision. It's a daily decision. It's something
you have to make up in your mind. I remember
the beginning of twenty twenty four, the Lord said to me,
everything you need to do is intentional.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
It has to have intent behind it.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
So it made me be more conscious in everything that
I do to make sure it has intent behind it. So,
within today's society and how everything is today, to stay uplifted,
to stay encouraged, to stay you know, positive, for the
people of God or for anyone you know, is to
be able to be intentional with your words, intentional with
(27:06):
your time, intentional and spreading the love of God intentionally
in being positive, being encouraging, you know, I mean, and being.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Transparent too, being transparent.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
You know, And there's a time where you're not so
encouraged yourself, but knowing that you could go back, as
I said, to the Word of God, because that becomes
your anchor.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
It's important. I stress so much. It's important. It's important.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
It's important that we know the Word of God because
it's a word of God that keeps us. It's the
word of God that encourages us. God word is a
life within itself. It really breathes life into us. So
I make sure that I stay connected that way where
and I'm going to be very honest with you, there's
time that I'm discouraged and I don't feel like it,
(27:52):
but I have to say make that conscious decision, Say
you have to get out of your feelings and get
into what you know. So pick up that word getting courage,
be in courage so you.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Could go out and be in encouragement to somebody else.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
And I'm glad you said that. There are times because
people when they see leaders don't realize that there are
times that we do go through our own periods of discouragement.
And so we have to, like David, to encourage our
own selves because sometimes it's not people saying, hey, hey,
are you okay? Let me pat you on it, let
me lift you up. But just to know that the
(28:25):
word of God is able to be a lamp for
us under our peace. So it's over seven thousand or so,
maybe even eight thousand or more promises in the Bible.
That's why we named our church Promised Fellowship, because we're
standing on God's prose and those promises are for us
to be able to activate and to utilize in our lives.
(28:48):
You know, it's very important that we know what the
promises are, so know how to apply them, apply them
all of these situations, because there's an answer for everything
right there in the Word.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Right right in the Word of God. Amen.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
And I remember in different phases in my walk with God,
where God has given me scriptures, and those scriptures has
been my anchor. There have been my reference that I
go back to. As you said, the promise is God,
my reassurance that rebuild my confidence, that rebuild my hope
to know that He is my hope, that Jesus is
(29:22):
our hope. So I definitely, you know, I say scriptures
that that ministers onto your pull on you keep them
close to you, remember them because I remember when I
first got saved by one of the scriptures that kept
me was seek you first, the Kingdom of God and
all its righteousness.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
So and all these things.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
I will add, so I don't have to worry about
the add And if I seek him, he will add.
So all I need to do is to seek Him.
So that's what I wanted my heart posture, and that
was my prayer. Let my heart be one.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
That seeks you God. I want to seek you. So
that was in my earlier walk with God.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Then I remember in a time where I was going through,
he gave me Jeremiah twenty nine to eleven.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
You know, I know the thoughts that I think towards you.
They're good.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
They're good, they're not un evil, to give you an
expected and a hope and the future. So again that
became an anchor for me doing my difficult times that
no matter what I'm facing, God said, he know the
thoughts he thinks towards me. They're good thoughts. So it's
important to have scriptures. It's important to know the word
of God and keep them in your heart, as you said,
because there are a lamp and the lights, and they
(30:27):
will definitely guide you through rough patches and hard times
and discouragement, and they will uplift and courage.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Better believe it. But here's a comment here too. It
says Tony Perkins, that's actually a family member of mine,
and we actually just celebrated my grandfather's homegoing and he
transitioned from this earth. And so I've got a chance
to see my cousin and at the homegoing service. But
he says, Praise the Lord, good evening to all of
(30:55):
God's children. I am honored to fellowship with all of
you on this annoying Tuesday. And you know, Tony, I
will say this too, because you never know when people
are paying attention or watching you. The sanctuary was filled
with people and I was getting up to read the obituary.
But I stood up and I just took a picture
out into the audience because I was like, oh, you know, whenever,
(31:18):
I not gonna get another picture with everybody there, So
I just took a picture, like, I just held my
camera up and did that and took the picture. And
when I zoomed in on the picture, and I don't
even I didn't know you were gonna be on here, Tony,
so I didn't have the picture ready. But when I
zoomed in, out of everybody in the sanctuary, there was
one person that had their hands raised like and I
(31:42):
mean like it was such a profound thing how it
stood out. Sometimes we don't know how we're encouraging somebody else,
so you don't have to try to fit in to
be like anybody else. Tony was praising and worshiping God God,
not caring at all what anybody else shows to do,
(32:03):
which everybody was worshiping him but in their own way.
But he was like, this is how I'm choosing to
worship him and giving on. So I just wanted to
say that because sometimes you don't even know what other
people think of you, right, you know, right, awesome type.
Amen of course, Amen, Amen, very true words for God.
(32:25):
And then I'm Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Glory to God. Jenny, do
barry us on too? She said, we are standing on
the promises of God, and so glad to have you here. Jenny. Actually,
on tomorrow evening. Tomorrow evening, we're doing a branding session
and Jenny is a branding expert. She's also the host
of the Pitch Connection. But it's a free session. So
(32:46):
if anybody is interested in being a part of that
training tomorrow, just reach out to me via Messenger and
I'll get you the zoom link. You're gonna learn a
lot by going to her training tomorrow. All right, you
deal in poetry, woman, So I heard that you deal
with testimony driven poetry. How does that work and flow
(33:09):
for you?
Speaker 3 (33:11):
So poetry is something that gave me an opportunity in
a time where kind.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Of felt not seen or not heard, not.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Necessary by anyone, but just by within my own shell
kind of gave me a voice, and through poetry, it
gave me a connection and especially connection with God and
a way to encourage and uplift. So that's how poetry
was kind of just birthed out out of me.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yeah, so I.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Don't know are you. Are you the person that do
you have poetry memorized or do you have your I
do not.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
I'm ashamed to say I do not.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Oh no, my grandma, my ninety some year old grandma,
and she remembers recites all of this stuff like this
beautiful me. I'm like, we're in that book what you're
talking about James Welldon Johnson and or for me and all? Yes,
I need the little piece of papers. I can read
what you me too. But the point is God actually
(34:07):
deposits testimonies into your spirit, and what are you capturing
them and turning them into journals or book What are
you doing with this?
Speaker 3 (34:17):
So what I've done with them is pretty much just
write them and go reread them and time when I
need a courage for myself.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
So you encourage yourself with them.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Okay, yes, I and encourage others.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
But I do know, because I've heard from time to
time you really need to put this out.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
On a little little ball, a little poetry book.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
So I know that's something that I've heard from time
to time, and every time I said I'm going to
I kind of pull back.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
But that is something that is on my heart to do.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
We're all missing out until you do it, because I
can tell that God has deposited so many wonderful gifts
inside of you. And so if you're looking for a
person that can help you get your material published, I
have a doctor, Lawana Grant. She has this whole leadership
development thing and she has helped goog obs I don't
(35:06):
know how many, so many Christian authors become published authors.
And I have several other people as well, and you
can kind of interview them to see which one would
be a good fit for you.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
And thank you.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
So see this turned into a whole business meeting.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
I love it. I love it. I love it.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Because you got a lot of great gifts inside of
you and if we don't, if we don't get the
opportunity to benefit from them, we miss out and then
those gifts and talents go to the grave with us,
and we cannot afford for that to happen.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Right, Amen, And you're a wonderful gift yourself good. Look
at all of this.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
God is blessing and man and what I share, what
I share with you even backstage, and I'll share with
all of you that we do offer group training, so
if I'd usually take no more than five students at
a time and we go on a six week journey together.
So if you're looking to start a talk show from scratch,
(36:02):
whether it's your audio video or network ready show, I
will be able to help you do that from the
training that I've had with PBS, the Word Network and
filming at the old Jim and Timmy fay Baker Studio,
having the endorsement from doctor Les Brown, international motivational speaker.
All you have to do is just call me and
let me know that you want to be one of
(36:24):
the five students in this next session. Once I get
the five, I cut it off because I can I
can only focus on the screen with so many on
the screening point. But let me know and I'd be
happy to serve you in that capacity. And don't miss
out because all of us are assigned to specific people. Yes,
and there are people that could never learn from me,
(36:46):
but they're specifically assigned to learn from you.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Amen, So you have to have to do it.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
You have to. You're depriving us if you.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Don't, you know, a wonderful blessing to each other.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yes, absolutely. And then with branding, I told you all
if you're interested in being a part of our session
where we're going to be learning how to brand yourself
to amplify your presence, it's a free session on tomorrow evening.
And if you're watching this as a replay and you're like,
where's the session, Kim, trust me, I'll have another kind
of session for you at that time as well, but
(37:20):
this one you want to take advantage of right away.
So what else can we can talk about? So many things?
Because when I think about you, I think about the
fact that you also share a lot of your gifts
and your talents through the poetry we talked about. But
then what are some other tools that you use to
be able to have that connection with God?
Speaker 3 (37:40):
What, as I said it, for some of the other
things I like to do is so really to be
an encouragement to others. You want to be able to
serve beyond and beyond just what the pulpit are, beyond
the church, or you want to be out there in
the community, be able to touch, be able to reach,
be able to be one way or the other. So
(38:02):
that's another way I like to stay connected, to be
out there serving whichever capacity I can, to be an
encouragement in whichever way I can, to be a light
with whichever way I can.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
I think that some of our our way.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
That we we as believers and we as people, we
we as people in general, can serve it is through
our kindness, through our light because a lot of time
I like to be a kind voice or a kind
greet into someone, to show somebody that love, that that
that generosity giving.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Ourselves to someone like in that way.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
So that those are some ways I light the light
of Christ has shine through us. And as I said that,
to me, having that connection with God was very important
because that needed to be a genuine light, something that
the Holy Spirit is working within us, within us to
have the fruits of the Spirit come out of us.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
That we have that love that we have that patients.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
That kind of said, that gentleness that others need, because
sometimes somebody just need a smile or a kind word,
or someone to listen, or you know, just someone to
care and wait for the respond not just put it
out there leave, but wait for a respond, letting them
know it's important. What they have to say or what
they they're thinking is valuable.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
So that it was so good.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Y'all, listen, we're talking about how to have that true
love with God, that relationship, and Pasatonique has already shared
quite a few tips, and I want to make sure
that I give room if you wanted to share any
other practical tips that you feel help people have that
good connection and that true love. One of the things
that she just said is being kind to other people
(39:44):
and generous to others, and being able to let your
light shine like that. And then I also saw Tony
Vastoni said amen, Amen, amen, and Jenny Duberry said, oh,
she's talking about the training on starting your show, because
she actually went through the training and started her own
show called The Image Connection, and so she said, it's
(40:04):
an amazing training. Yes, it is. To God be bored. Okay,
all right. So a lot of people that are coming
into this walk of accepting Christ as their savior, they
are experiencing it seems almost like more more struggles in
life than what they ever anticipated. And it's like, ooh,
(40:24):
I thought, I mean doing this, I'm gonna get better.
What any feedback or thoughts or anything that you could
share with people, just encourage them today.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Oh absolutely definitely.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Sometimes we do have the idea that when we give
our life to Christ that things are going to be easier,
and we know we are not. You and I both
know her. We all know that sometimes that is not true.
That's more time that's there. The more you shine for Christ,
the more the devil want to shut that light or
get you to move away from that image. So what
I like to encourage people that, while as I said before,
(41:00):
I have a firm foundation in God, to make sure
that you're intentionally building that relationship with Him. To spend
time in his word, I like to say in the morning,
to give that time of devotional time, devoting that time
to build that relationship, to build that connection. To spend
time in His presence, to spend time reading, to spend
(41:21):
time praying, to spend time worship, and so you can
be encouraged, so you can be able to be uplifted
because you're going to go through trials and matter of fact,
in twenty twenty three, I went to one of the
biggest trials that I went through. I got sick in
May of twenty three and found out in Jue of
(41:41):
twenty three that I had a brain tumor and I
had to have brain surgery. And the tumor was growing
on my left side, and what it was, I'm sorry,
it was growing on my right side, and what he
was doing was shutting down my left side.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
And I found out all.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Of this within the space of a week and within
the space of the got found out I had to
have surgery. My doctors was very straightforward with me, let
me know, this is what to expect after surgery, because
what it was doing was causing my left side to
have what they call focal seizures, and what it would
do what he wanted to do was shut me down
(42:15):
completely on my left So he said, once I go
in and remove my remove the tumor, because it's on
his side that caused me to be my mobility, it
would affect my mobility. So he let me know that
once you come out of surgery, it's probably gonna take
up to a year before you get your your your
movement back in your ankle, in your in your leg.
(42:36):
You have to do some rehabilitation to be able to
to just be able to perform daily activities and I'm
not gonna lie. At first, kid, my heart was like huh.
But in the space of all of that, like I said,
I had to go back to what I know, and
I had to trust God even in the midst of
anxiety and fear, because that wanted to creep in, because
(42:57):
it wanted to creep in and say, oh my God,
I can't believe this. But I said, Okay, God, this
is what salvation is about, this is what relationship is about,
this is what knowing you was about. So I had
to get myself together and I'm not gonna lie. In
the midst of all of that. God gave me peace.
I gave me such a peace within. And I went
through surgery and I went through rehab and they asked
(43:19):
me my goals that I wanted to meet coming out
of rehab, and one of the big things for me,
I just wanted to be able to go home, to
be able even if I'm on a walker or I'm
on a cane. I just want to be able to
move up and down by myself. And we worked towards
that goal and God really blessed me. He really blessed
me By the time I came out of rehab, I
(43:41):
was able to walk with a cane. I still didn't
have complete movement in my toes. I still didn't have
the complete movement in my ankles, but I was able
to walk with a cane.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
And when I.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
Got home, I had a little gap before I had
our patient therapy.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
So what I did. I came home and I walked
my driveway. I walked it every day.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
I walked it every day until I got the God
gave me that strength back in my body. And when
I came home. This is now, by the time I
came home, it was September. By the time I came home, No,
I'm sorry, it was the end of August going into September. Now,
I had surgery in June. By August, when I came home.
(44:25):
The first week I came home, my ankle started moving.
I said, Glory to God. They told me it would
take one year. My ankle started moving, and within the
following week my toes started moving. I was just thanking
God and praising God because God, during.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
That time, all I had was what I knew.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
I had what I knew, I had my faith in God,
and I know that God is a healer. I know
God is a promise keeper, and I know that God
will restore because, as I said before, during my different
time of my life, he.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
Would give me scriptures. And one of the scriptures he
had gave me early on was Isaiah forty sixty four.
I am your God to the hero.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
Point your head is white, and I will carry you
and sustain you. So I held on to that scripture
and I said, God, you promised me.
Speaker 2 (45:17):
You promise me.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
That you are my God to the here point of
my head is white, and you promised that you would
carry me, and you will sustain me. Even though I'm
facing all these things, and even though they're telling me
it will take up to a year for me to
walk again, it would take up a year for me
to have movement in my leg again. I know that
you're gonna sustain me. I know You're gonna carry me.
(45:39):
And God did just that. He sustained and he carried amen.
So we are gonna go through as children of God.
We have to know we have a target.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
On our back.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
The enemy is coming after us because what he wants
us to do is to doubt God. What he wants
us to do is to have fear. What he wants
us to do is to live in anxiety. He wants
to he wants to kill that faith that we have
knowing that God is who he said he is.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
And he will do just what he says.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
So even in the midst of all your face and
and all you're going, so you have to hold on
to that. I want to take that God is the
same yesterday, today, and forevermore. And if the outcome does
not look the way you think, right right, it will
look the way that God planned it, because he told
us all things work together.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
All things.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
So we have to begin.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
We have to.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
Believe in that all things right amen, Hey amen?
Speaker 1 (46:40):
Amen? Yes, Lord, And God is still literally in the
miracle working business. A lot of times people think about
just the miracles that were performed in the Bible days.
But you are a walking living testimony right now, because
when I was backstage, I saw you get up and
walk across the room. So you got in a wheelchair
(47:02):
over there. Right now, you are a walking living testimony
of how God could still work a twenty first century miracle.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Yes, God, yes he does, and he is really a
miracle worker, and he's an encourager and he's a sustainer,
he's a life giver. He's whatever you need him to be.
You can literally take.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
God at his word, take him at his word.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
Now. I see I see all of you all. I
would personally acknowledge everybody, but you have to kind of
type of comment for me to Let's see. I see you.
My mom is on so I see you Mom. I
see you out there in the studio audience. I see you, Jinny,
I see you Tony, I see you. Pastor Allen, I
see you, Pastor Johnson. I see lots of pastors on
here today. And I see you, Honey Dip. I see
(47:49):
all that. Y'all may be saying your nicknames on social media,
but y'all type of comment and I'll be happy to
put it out. But I just thank God for you
all being here today. I do encourage you. If you
have not partner with The Kim Jacob Show. We bring
balance around the world, one household at a time, but
we come into your home and thank you for allowing
us into your home with special guests like this and
(48:11):
guests that we bring on Monday through Friday at eleven
o'clock am. If you have not taken a moment to
support or partner with our broadcast. Please take a moment
to do so. This. Before, when I was with PBS
and The Word Network and had corporate sponsors, that made
a big difference because I was able to have like
twenty five crew members and all of those things. But
(48:32):
now I am really solely depending upon the community contributions.
So make sure you take a moment to donate to
our broadcasts, and we greatly appreciate it and thank you
for those that already do. So what are some things
that you like to do in your free time. I
know you're really big on spending time with family, so
talk to us about your family.
Speaker 2 (48:52):
Yes, I have a big, beautiful family. Amen. I have
my mom my, two sisters.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
I have tons of nieces and nephew, great nieces and nephew,
tons of aunties and uncle. We are a very close
knit family. We were raised that way and we make
it a conscious decision stay that way. I'm very excited
and grateful to God because a lot of my family
know those God and serving God, and they.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
Have a hunger for Him. So I love the times
when we.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Get together we're still encouraging each other, uplifting each other.
And it doesn't matter what we do. One of the
things that we like to do on Sundays, a few
people call my mom house Big Mama's house.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
So we come to my mom's house.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
She have dinner on Sunday. After we all eat, we
like to play dominoes. And while we're playing dominoes, it
could be a whole list of things going on. We
could be having church, we could be encouraging, we could
we we we're doing a whole bunch of things to still,
you know, stay connected one way or the other.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
So that's a big part. That's my family.
Speaker 3 (49:59):
That's that's not even doing them justice because there's a
whole lot more of them.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
Well, I said, I'm gonna find some kind of picture.
I'm all over there, like I'm over here, like smooth,
I'm in the background.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
I was like, I'm gonna find me a picture of Listen.
I don't even mind. I don't mind at all. I
don't mind. I love them.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
They're very great, and they're very supporting, and everything we
do for each other, we show up for each other.
So so I'm grateful. I'm very grateful to God for them.
Yes I am.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
That's good. That's good. I can tell you, can tell
that y'all are just like a really close knit group,
just even that by that picture alone, that you really
seem to enjoy and cherish the time together. So I
see all kind of pictures over here of you, and
but I'm not gonna put them all up because I
don't know who the whoever all these people are. I
dare and I start popping up a bunch of different pictures,
like thousands of them over here. But anyway, I also
(50:51):
found out just through the grape vine that are you
Are you single?
Speaker 2 (50:56):
Oh? I am single? Yes? I wonder what great vine
is that talking?
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Okay, because the deal I'm not trying to play matchmaker
or anything on the Kim Jacobs Show, but I will
tell you that I do have eligible people that come
on with Kim Jacob's show. And it's like, I do
believe wholeheartedly in the Word of God that he finds
a wife find yes. So I don't think that women
(51:21):
need to be going around chasing after nobody man, no, man,
not nobody. Please don't agree, but it's not after any man.
I just think that let him do what the Word
of God said, let him find you. Yes, I don't
know where you find me might be at grocery, so
I don't know where.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
I like where you gonna find me.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
You know, I'm about my my father's business. But you're single.
Talk to us about being single.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
Yes, I am.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Single, not close to definitely not close to love. Heart
is still open for love. As you said, I believe
that when you're busy, when you're about your father's busy,
you're busy about life, whatever God has planned.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
For you will find you definitely.
Speaker 3 (52:05):
As I say, heart is open onto it. Something that
you know I was said for years. I will say, God,
I can't believe that I have not found but I've
learned that even in this time, to learn how to
to just wait, not to haste, because there are situations
where you could haste, but learn how to wait.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
So I'm just waiting, but I'm openly waiting.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Okay, all right, Well there you heard it right here
on the Kim Jacobs ship, right, and don't look it
like they said, I'm miss Jinkins right, don't say you
heard it from me. In fact, what was that show
two two seven back in the day, You remember the
lady be like that from me?
Speaker 2 (52:46):
Right?
Speaker 1 (52:48):
That's so funny. So when I know that there are
some things that you probably truly enjoy. Are there any
fun facts about you? Because I know we've been pretty
serious about ministry and life. But anything that's like a
fun fact that maybe people enjoy hearing.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
So I do have I have a very I have
two sisters.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
And a very close friend that I call my sister,
and a cousin, and we love to go out and
hang and eat and laugh and we travel together. So
I love to I love to go places. I love
to have a fun time with them. Sometime we just
get together and we giggle, or we just get together
and runinists. As I said, I love to play domino.
I'm a very competitive player, not professionally but through my family,
(53:31):
and we have a wonderful time, I'm telling you. And
I've had people that come over and because of how
much we have fun, they're like, Okay, now you need
to teach us, because we got to get we need
to be involved in this.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
I have.
Speaker 3 (53:45):
I have cousins that when they come and visit, we
stay up till two in the morning, four in the
morning just playing dominoes all night and just laugh at
and just having a good time.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
So I do like to have a balance in life
to where you know, I love the.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Seriousness about my walk with God and everything like that,
and even in my time of relaxation or in my
time of having fun, I still hold that candle very close.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Yeah, oh my god, you know what I'm over here.
I'm looking at your page too, and one of the
images that I see it really puts it in perspective
what God has done for you. And so am I
allowed to show? Am I allowed to show?
Speaker 2 (54:31):
I mean whatever's on air? So yeah, it's a public space.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Oh, only because you know what this is a lot
of times we hear a person's testimony, but until you
see the testimony, you really don't take really appreciate what
the person has gone through for you to be right here,
front and center at the level that you are right now.
You're talking about dominoes and hanging with your friends and
(54:57):
your cousins and just really making a wonderful life of life,
just living people people.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
This that was for my surgery in twenty twenty three.
And sometime when I stop and think about it, and
it's every now and then when I touch the top
of my head, tears still well up in my eyes,
just to see the goodness of God. I am truly
thankful unto him. And you know, I don't take anything
for granted. I don't take one moment for granted. I'm grateful.
(55:26):
I am very grateful to him. And this is while
when I said that experiencing that love of God, because
this really shows me his love. This demonstrates his love
for me that I am here. I am here, yes,
and just because of his goodness.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
Yes, it stopped me in my tracks when I was like,
I was trying to find a picture of you and
your cousins playing dominoes. Here, I was trying to just
find a picture on your page of you and your
cousins or whatever plan you and your best playing dominoes.
(56:01):
And then I saw that, I was like, how can
I keep scrolling? Like I can't scrolling past this? Because
if we think that we have some life challenges and
trials and tribulations, we don't know what the next person
is expeing through. And as Paul says, our inflictions are
light lad and Savior the things he had to endure
(56:23):
to bear the cross for us to be able to
have eternal life salvation, aside for all of us to
be able to have everlasting life.
Speaker 3 (56:31):
And you know, in the middle of when the doctors
were talking to me about having brain surgery, you know,
I was like, God, I could die. And you know,
in that moment, I was like, God, I could die.
And it was almost like it's not a fear of dying,
but it was like God, it was so many things
that I want to see for my family, so many
things that I want to see for my friends, so
(56:52):
many things I want to see happened. But I was
in that moment, I said, God, but this is what
salvation is about. This is what Christ died for my
sen It's about that I.
Speaker 2 (57:01):
Can have eternal life.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
So even if I die in the middle of surgery,
I know that I have eternal life with you.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
So that's the realness of salvation.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
Beyond this life, beyond this moment, is that when I died,
that I will see my Savior.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
So I had to come to that realization that even
if I die again, it all works together.
Speaker 1 (57:25):
Even I feel the exact same way. Even when I
die on this earth, I already knew this was a
temporary location. All of us have to experience that. So
we're just passing through like the song says, this is
your world and I'm just living in it, living in walking.
But when I walk through it, I want to make
sure that I'm pulling a lot of people with me.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
Amen, Yes, walk through it and then it's just it's
just I just was here.
Speaker 1 (57:50):
No, No, I want to be here and have left
the mark, a memorable mark and doing that.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Pass the tonique, God, bless you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
Okay, y'all listen, if your organization would like to no,
I want to make sure I tell you if your
organization would like to be considered for a defibrillator. We're
doing We're doing a whole thing. I'm putting wrong stuff
because I'm my glasses on, but we're doing a whole
thing where you can do a one minute video for
(58:20):
your church, your organization, your nonprofit group, your sporting event group, whatever,
a recreational center. We're giving away a defibrillator at our
five k walk that's happening on October eighteenth, So post
a one minute video on your social media page. It's
a talking defibrillator, beautiful defibrillator AD and I believe that
(58:41):
every place where, especially with young congregations, have a defibrillator
on hand to allow time for the paramedics to arrive
to their life saving measures. So just tag us at
at Gatesheart Foundation and we will see it on social
media and tell us the reason why your organization should
(59:01):
receive the defibrillator. At our five K Walk, we will
be announcing. We will be announcing, and you don't have
to be present to win, So it doesn't matter if
some people might be in Africa doing it doesn't matter.
Now if you are out of the country, you will
have to pay the shipping and handling fee. You gotta
pay that. If you're in the United States, we can
(59:21):
ship it to you, no problem. But if you win
and you're out of the country, that's an exorbited cost
that the nonprofit is not going to be able to incur. Okay,
and so our five K walk is happening on October eighteenth.
It will be ten years to allow my son Abriel
Michael Jacob's heart to continue to beat on this earth,
and lots the lives have been spared as a result
(59:44):
of his story. People are getting their children's hearts to
actually checked and finding they're finding some different detacs and
getting them surgically corrected. So I thank God for Gade
in his life. Okay, and then I think one more
final announcement, I'll make it that we're gonna get ready
to hear close and comment from you, pastor Tony. We
(01:00:06):
have Unity Sunday coming up. And so if you're watching
this as a replay and you're seeing it beyond September
twenty first, then just enjoy the replay. But right now,
coming up this set Sunday at on September twenty first,
we have Chris Ray, president of Barbara Scotia College, as
well as Greg H. Jackson. He was on my show
earlier today and he is a hip hop rapper, gospel
(01:00:29):
artist and founder of Heal Charlotte and doctor Sharonda Banks
is the owner of Intentional Step Services therapy group. So
I want to make sure that you know we're gonna
be having Unity Sunday. Come rep your sorority, your fraternity,
Jack and Jill Mason's or Easton Star, whatever you rep,
and just go on and rep it off, and we're
gonna be to ultimately repend Alpha and Omerga. Okay at
(01:00:51):
the beginning and the end our Lord and Savior. All right,
So make sure y'all are in the house, and that's
going to be a promised fellowship, will put the information
and this is where we worship at the Real Servents
and Sunday's at ten am, one two zero University City
Boulevard and Harrisburg, North Carolina, about five minutes from you
(01:01:11):
and see Charlotte. Now, if you're in a different country
seeing this, clearly you're not coming to Charlotte for this event.
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
There was a closing comment, well, thank you so much,
Pastor Can for having me.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
I had a wonderful time just be able to share
my testimony, my experience, my relationship with God, and I
want to encourage others to do the same. We want
to be a light in this time. We want to
be the light of Christ in this time for others
to see the love of God in us. Sometime people
may not pick up the word, they may not go
to church, but we are the walking Church. So wherever
(01:01:45):
we go, whenever we can, let us demonstrate the love
of God that somebody could have a read experience with
His love and with his presence, amen a real experience.
Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
You don't have to worry about what somebody else's experience
is like. Have your own, real, authentic experience. And who
knows what the blessing is that God has just with
your name on it. He had one with Pastor Tonique's
name on it from her brain surgery. And look at
this woman of God. And somebody just type in the
(01:02:16):
comments section as we close out, Amen, everybody, just pay amen. Amen.
So be it time that we've had together, Pastor Tonique? Yes,
thank you? And how can people stay connected with you?
You want to make sure people know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Toy just read on Facebook and Instagram just first and
last name.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
So Tonique read t O n i q u E
r E I D. I have a lot of iHeart
radio listeners and and Google music and all of those things,
so they don't know how to spell Tonique over there.
T O n i q he read r ei on
social media. Okay, So y'all go ahead and follow her
(01:03:04):
on her social media pages and find out what she
has coming up next, anything special that you have coming
up that you want us to all be in our
seats for as of right now.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
No, but I would definitely keep you guys in a form.
If I do well, you're going to have a show,
hopefully right, yes, hopefully?
Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
All right? All right? Yeah, I see you, Mom. You type.
My mom take a lot for her to type in
her seventies. She's like, hey, by the time we'll be done.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
Sorry, blessed, blessed, blessed.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
I'm so grateful to God.
Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
Amen, my mom here on this earth with you.
Speaker 1 (01:03:35):

have to be so so thank you Mom for taking
