(00:22):
content on today's episode of The Kim Jacob Show. Jacob Well,
hello everyone, and welcome to this episode of The Kim
Jacob Show, where we are bringing balance to the world,

(00:42):
one household at a time. It is my honor and
my distinct pleasure and privilege to have with me today,
Sean Treill and Denise Sterling. How are you all today?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I'm having us.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I'm so glad and I think you see and better
that you all are in the same bubble over there
to be a mother and son team that speaks volumes
in itself, because not every mother and son are able
to be in the same bubble. So kudos to you
already as we kick the show off to the I
really do I do think that that is it's critically

(01:19):
important that people understand how how special it is because
I'm a mother, I'm a mother of five children, and
to have my own individual relationship with each of my children,
it's nothing like it. So even just from a motherhood perspective,
I can't wait to hear your theory, Denise on how

(01:41):
much this really means to you, having you work alongside
your son and then you working alongside your mother on
such a very special project where people really need need help,
not just want help, not asking for help, but need help.
You know, absolutely, so Ya, We're gonna have a hearty

(02:04):
discussion today and a heartfelt one as well. So I
encourage you to give everyone you know the opportunity to
participate in this episode today. And we are considering this
the Jamaica Relief Effort episode, and so I am going
to I want to go ahead and just make sure
that I introduce these two individuals. Denise, being born and

(02:26):
raised in Jamaica is a person that's going to be
speaking with us today. I actually love the fact that
Rashon thirty years old, born and living in Charlotte, but
born in Jamaica. I have all of these statistics and facts.
Mom currently living in Charlotte, but was born in Jamaica

(02:47):
as well, and they are guests today on a very
specific mission to help support those that are in Jamaica
after the tragic hurricane that sweat through the country, Hurricane Melissa.
So I am very grateful. I'm probably gonna be stumbling
myself because this is These are real people's lives. This

(03:10):
is not just oh, I'm just talking about a topic.
I'm talking about the devastation of lives being lost. And
welcome Jehn and Denise to Jacob Schell.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Thank you for having us.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Okay, yeah, for you all that may not be aware.
With Hurricane Melissa October twenty fifth through the twenty seventh,
it rapidly intensified into a Category five hurricane before making
landfall near New Hope, Jamaica. And it didn't I looked

(03:45):
at a lot of footage beforehand, right even moments before,
and it looked like the sun was out, everything was bright,
and everything looked so good. But literally, it did have
devastating impact and it emerged from the north coast of
Jamaica later that day and all toimate Lee went on
to Cuba and dissipated somewhere near Bermuda. Now all of

(04:06):
the facts are all over social media, so you're welcome
to search that out. But I want to get into
some questions with YouTube and give people a chance to
learn more about you. Yeah, okay, okay, okay, because we're
gonna get a chance to give today as well. So Denise,
let's start with you for a moment. Being born and
raised in Jamaica, what does this mission personally mean to you?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
So for me, personally, I've always been a giver, you know,
That's all I know. Being raised by my grandmother, she's
always giving back and also my mom, so that's all
I know. So for me, this is this is quite
personal for several reasons. So we recently visited Jamaica and

(04:52):
was challenging for us financially just to navigate ourself to
Jamaica because it's extremely expensive. Yes, and we also my
son was actually born in the US, So during our
last visit, I actually took the time like the focus
of our last visit was more so to introduce him

(05:13):
to Jamaica, like walking through some of the places that
I grew up, the school, the first school that I
went to, so he was able to see firsthand, like
some of the some of these impoverished areas, So that
really that resonated in my mind, like a lot of
these folks were impoverished before the hurricane, and I myself

(05:35):
was in Jamaica during Hurricane Gilbert. So it's knowing how
impoverished a lot of these communities were prior to the hurricane,
and also living through Hurricane Gilbert, which was a Category
four a few years ago. And the fact that I'm
always called to, you know, missions like this.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Right, Okay, So, so you've all always been the giver.
You've always had your Grandmam instilling in you the importance
of giving, and so you were really excited about the
opportunity to introduce this to your son who hadn't experienced
everything that you've grown up appreciating in value. And so

(06:16):
when you went there, and what was it like? What
was the experience like for Rashaan? Rashan, tell us what
was it like for you?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
It was? It was It was beautiful. The minor things, right,
the little things that we may take for granted here
in the US. You get to see a different side
of the world over there. You get to see within
the struggle, right, you get to see the resilience in everybody.

(06:49):
You get to see the community. You get to see
the love, you get to see the selflessness. Right, what
I don't have, or what you don't have and I have,
will share it. Or what you don't have and have
half of let's make a half of that, right and
all come together and enjoy it as one. Right. So
that was kind of something that I enjoyed seeing and

(07:11):
I found value in that kind of pushed me as
well to you know, want to give back to the
community that raised my mom, give back to the community
that raised my grandmother, that ultimately built the foundation of
the principles and values of how I was raised.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Oh and you're so well spoken, you know, so to
have you be a product of your parents who are
doing everything they can to raise you. Right. There are
some times in life when things happen that you can't predict.
I heard Oprah say one time, we don't really know
what our legacy is going to be because it may
not have yet been told. So none of us knew

(07:50):
that this devastation was going to even happen in Jamaica.
So when you went for vacation, that wasn't even a thought, right,
or was it?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Actually? So we went to Jamaica, I think it.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Was in September.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I went back, actually, so I went back a second
time two weeks after. We came back for a funeral.
So while I was there for the funeral, they were
talking about it. So I came back exactly one week
prior to the hurricane.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Okay, and so when you came back, what what was
it like during the time that you came back, Denise?
Just regular, right, because I mean moments before it was
just regular regular. Yeah. So people have been doing TikTok
videos and things. Some people were making a mockery of
the situation and saying, oh, come on, they were calling

(08:42):
the hurricane in and all of it. First of all,
I was very offended by that, just so you know,
because I was like, how dare we play with society
and that capacity. We don't know what's going to happen
as a result of of what, you know, what, God
is gonna even a lot happen in the in the
in the atmosphere or whatever. So for us to be saying, oh,

(09:03):
this is just a joke, Oh where's the hurricane? Somebody
telling me I was personally upset about that.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
It was frustrating.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah, was that frustrating for you? All as well.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah, it was very frustrating because I would have I know,
my niece in particular call and she said, I don't
understand why the American news is making such a big
deal about this, Like hurricane in Jamaica is supposed to
be fun, and I'm like, are you serious? So it
was very frustrating the fact that you know, like you said,

(09:35):
you see on social media where this was not taken seriously.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
And here we are today. But then on literally October
that time frame, October twenty eighth is when it formally
formally formed into the category five and winds up to
one hundred and eighty five miles per hour. That's it
turned quickly, and so it is actually one of the

(09:59):
strongest hurricanes. It was the strongest hurricane that hit Jamaica
and recorded history, and so this became a really quick
turnaround situation. And so I wanted to put a few
images up because I think it's better when people get
a chance to see the level of devastation that happened.
And all of the photos that I'm getting are from CNN,

(10:21):
from BBC, from NBC's PBS. I've gotten just went online
and capture some of these images but the devastation was real.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It was real.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
It's very real, and a lot of people lost their lives,
families are impacted forever. And the latest statistics, if I'm
not mistaken, it was like forty five confirmed deaths, yes,
and almost one point six million people were affected. As
the recovery efforts are continuing even two weeks after Hurricane

(10:52):
Melissa came. And there are specific communities which I'll talk
more with too about this with the councilwoman that's also
joining us shortly here. So it's some areas that are
really cut off from society absolutely. So what I would
like to learn from you all is what initiatives are
you spearheading so that we can learn how we can

(11:14):
support Jamaica through what you're doing. And everybody that's tuning in.
The funds are not coming to the Kim Jacobs Show's
not coming to Gabe's Heart Foundation or Promised Fellowship Church.
They're going directly to the initiative that Sean Trell and
Denise Sterling are spearheading. So just as just as something
that I do need to put legally on my show,

(11:36):
if you can just verbally state that these proceeds are
going to what cause, and that we're not legally liable
for anything that's going on with the funds.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Okay, So when when we initially started out, we didn't
know exactly how we're going to do this. You know,
who are we going to turn to. We just know
that we needed to help, right, So we started out
saying that, you know, if we can just help two
people just to replace their roofs, just two because we're thinking,

(12:12):
like as she the zinc is can be that expensive.
So that's initially how we started out. Then as I
was scrolling through as a matter of fact, on the
day of the hurricane, I came across a video of
a young lady who was like really and it brought
the image of like no on the heart when he
was bringing people in the heart. That's the image that

(12:32):
came to mind. And she was bringing people into the
into her house like come on in, come on in.
And I literally sat there and watched somebody's house like
completely gone, just blew away, and she was leading these
people in the house. And about I think it was
about two days later, I came across the video that
was her video, and then halfway through the video and

(12:54):
it was the same image as I had seen on
that day where she was like rescuing folks. Yeah, the
transition to a few moments later she lost everything. So
she went from being the savior to herself losing everything.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
And she's still alive too, she.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Is So I think it was probably the next day
I came across like another video from someone just kind
of making a suggestion and say, you know, we all
want to do something and we can't help everybody, so
think about adopting a family.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
And I was like, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
So for some reason, I keep going back to Jenika.
Her name is Janika, and that feeling. I just could
not shape the feeling. I could not shape the feeling.
I didn't know how I was going to be able
to support her. I just knew that the Lord was
saying Janika, Janika, Janika. So I reached out to her.
I got her number, I spoke to her. I said, hey,

(13:52):
not exactly show what I can do for you, I
just know that I want to adopt you as my family.
So Janika is a model of of two. She has
a one year old and a three year old. She
lost everything, and you know, like I said, initially, my
goal was just to probably send her a couple hundred
dollars here and there. But then I saw where they

(14:12):
have what they call start a package, and the start
package run anywhere from four hundred thousand Jamaican dollars and upwards.
And what's included in this package is everything they need
excluding windows and doors, like all the materials they need
to be able to build. I think it's like a
ten by fifteen concrete foundation. Okay, So I said, you

(14:37):
know what, that's about three four thousand dollars. Maybe maybe
I can maybe I can help her with a thousand, right,
and then I could put like a thousand on my
credit cards that'd be two thousand. So that's kind of
how I started out. And then once I reached a
thousand dollars goal and I started to message her and say, hey,

(14:57):
I'm gonna send you this money. The Lord said, uh uh,
you got to keep going. And then my son came
on board and was like, Mom, we gotta do bar.
I'm going to speak to pastor, I'm going to reach out.
And it has been a humbling experience because let me
tell you something, begging is not easy.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Of course, not at all.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
But when I think about this family that went to
bed one day, right and walk up the next day.
A lot of these families, especially in like Westmoreland, Saint Elizabeth,
they went to bed one day, walk up the next day,
losing their house, everything that was inside their house, their livelihood,

(15:40):
their cars if they had a car, and for some
people a family member. And I'm like, you know, that's
a lot. So from there, you know, my son and
I spoke and we said, what if we can do
we start a package for three flights. So this is
where we are today.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
So that is our goal.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
If we can do we can get a start a
package for three three of these victims in Jamaica, because
even even though they may not be able to afford
to build a complete house with concrete, at least they'll
be able to have that one room in the event

(16:19):
of another hurricane that will be safe for them.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
And how much, specifically one more time would it take
for anything to help.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
So for per room, it's about anywhere from three thousand,
five hundred to about four thousand plus. It just varies
from hardware to hardware.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Okay, yeah, so I.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Will say the average of probably about three thousand, five
hundred per per person.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Three thousand, five hundred per person would help them have
a starter kit as well.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Oh yeah, yeah, that's the starter kit to build one room,
which is about a ten by fifteen.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Okay, the reason I'm what I'm actually doing right now too.
If you see me kind of looking around, I'm over
here on your GoFundMe page, and so I am going
to right now. I want to share this screen with
everyone because it does not take a lot of people
to make something happen, and give what you can give

(17:21):
if you and I want I want it to happen
during the episode. So take a moment right now and
go to the go fundme page. I'm going to put
it over here on Instagram actually, and I noticed some
of you are watching over there on Instagram and things
as well. I put the GoFundMe link there, and they
just did a new thing where they changed the formatting

(17:43):
on stream yard. But don't worry about that. Just make
sure you because I would have to stop the whole broadcast.
I'm not about to do that. So what I want
everybody to do is I just put a link in
the comments section. It's a go fund me link. And
because part of today episode, I want to take time
to make sure that you all tell me that people

(18:05):
are giving. Okay, So it's nice to hear our stories
what motivated us and have a regular show. But if
at the end of the day, no money is coming
in to help these people in Jamaica that have no means,
they have no means of being able to make it.
They are in need, not in want. It's a big
difference in being in want and being in need. They

(18:27):
need our brothers and our sisters. How good and how
pleasant it is for brothers and sisters to dwell together
in unity. It's not about what church you go to,
what organization you are part of. Pour out of your
soul and give today to this GoFundMe effort. And I
wanted to put on the screen. I just donated as well.

(18:50):
So I just donated to the fundraiser, but I wanted
to make sure that people I copy that link. The
goal is to get how many let me go back? Okay,
So I'm gonna stop sharing for a second, go back,
and I want to Okay, I want to make sure
that people get a chance to see your home screen.
So I'm gonna share it again. And if you're already

(19:13):
knowing that you're going to contribute to this initiative, Please
put it in the comments section. Please share it with
any organizations, churches, nonprofit groups, whatever you're part of. Because
the goal is to raise how.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Much at least at least twelve thousand dollars at least Okay,
we want to be able to help at least three families.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Okay, So if we can help surpass what's on here,
which says twenty five hundred dollars goal, if we can
go to twelve thousand dollars, that would help them be
able to help three families that are struggling in Jamaica.
Jamiica is going to be one of them, right, Yes,
two more families will be helped, and they don't You

(19:59):
don't know all of these people personally, correct, No, so
you're not. So what's what's making you decide that you're
going to go beyond just looking out for you and yours? Rashan,
I want to hear from you for a second on that.
Why are you joining forces with your parents, your mom
in particular in this case to help somebody else other

(20:21):
than just you and yours.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
I believe that community is huge. I believe harvest time
will always be there as well. As seed time. And
with that being said, what you put out into the
world is what you will receive, right, So I think

(20:45):
that it starts somewhere, right. I think one big thing
in all of this, too is a lot of times
you'll be surprised the the number of people that are
kind of tuned out of the world. Right. You would
assume that most people know about the hurricane. You would

(21:06):
assume that majority of those people that know about the
hurricane understand the magnitude at which it impacted these communities,
But a lot of people don't, right. So I think
this was huge to not only you know, of course
the goal is to raise funds and help lives, but
bring awareness to a lot of people that quite frankly,

(21:29):
maybe you just don't watch the news. Right. We have
a lot of things going on in our day to day.
A lot of people's lives are busy. You may get up,
prepare the kids, go to work, come home, take care
of the kids, go to sleep, and do it all
over again. So I think a lot of people they're
just out of tune, right, You may not understand the
severity of it. So I think it was very important

(21:51):
to bring awareness to that and to help a community
that is very big on helping each other, right, doing
the most with the little that we have, and you
never know when you will be the one that needs
your neighbor to help you.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Right.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
It's easy to say me and mine, but the world
is much bigger than just you and yours. Right. You
need community, You need help from individuals that you may
not know, right but are willing to lend a helping hand.
So I think all of that was a driving factor

(22:32):
and wanting to be able to, of course help ours,
but go past that, right, help your brother in need,
help your sister in need. Because we may have hours,
but someone else may not have a hours, right. Someone
else may just be them, They may not have an
hours right, So I think it's important to be able

(22:54):
to fill the gap and be someone else's hours.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
You are. You are blessed beyond anything that I could
even find words to describe, Rashan, because I believe wholeheartedly
that God is going to do some supernatural things through
you because of your willingness as a young African American male,

(23:20):
where there's so much stuff happening in society that highlights
the negative part of somebody's journey. You are a young
man that's being selfless and you're thinking about someone else
other than just you and yours to the point where
you're on a show and probably will get on other

(23:41):
shows because I'll connect you to some other shows as
well and help you all get this message out. I
personally believe that your goal will be exceeded. This is
just the start. How proud of you as a mother,
because again, this show is about how people balance their lives.
So being the mother of this gentleman sitting here beside

(24:03):
you again in the same square that we talked about, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
I'm extremely proud. I'll be honest to say that this
is the first time I've seen him in this capacity,
and I'm excited for that because this, this is, this
is this.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Is what he knows right.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
I remember growing up. I remember when I bought this,
this very house we were sitting in. Rashan was probably
about eight nine, and he made me promise, he said, Mom, no,
he was about to start high school. I'm sorry, and
he made me promise. He said, Mom, you gotta promise
me that you're not gonna take any more straights. You're
not You're not gonna give my room up. Because I

(24:47):
was like I would meet like random people and they
would just tell me a story, and here I go,
moving somebody in. So I am really proud to see
that what I've demonstrated throughout my life, he has taken
notice and I'm starting to see him walk in that path.
I'm so very proud of him.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
There's no limit to what's going to happen through your
family and the fact that you all are doing this
doing it just as a like a just a general
act of kindness. But God is going to put some
wind beneath this. And I'm not definitely not trying to
preach y'all, but I believe that He's going to catapult
things to whole different dimension. And you all haven't eyes,

(25:27):
haven't seen ears, haven't heard the things that's going to happen,
all because of your obedience and your willingness to come
on here today. So thank you so much. Why why
rule communities? Because you specifically are focusing in the rural
community area, So I want to talk a little bit
more about that.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Yeah, we wanted to focus on the communities that government
assistants just doesn't reach those areas as quickly as some
of the other areas. Right, I think a lot of places.
That is just how it is. Right. The first there
a way you are from the tourist area. The further
where you are from maybe the most populated areas, those

(26:07):
communities get overlooked. Right, something as simple as street lights
going out, right, those street lights will be out for
two months, two months will turn a four to four
will turn to a year. You would think something as
simple as that you could get a turnaround time quickly,
But the reality of the situation is those rural areas

(26:27):
can get easily overlooked and do get easily overlooked. So again,
we've just wanted to bridge that gap and fill in
for the areas that get overlooked. Right. We don't want
anyone to get overlooked. We don't want any any any
population to feel too small for help, right, because no
one is too small for help over little for help.

(26:50):
So that that was our goal.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
In that Okay, Okay, I'm putting another image up because
as I'm going through, I'm seeing all of these articles
and they are pretty profound. This one is from BBC
and it says you can watch the information and I'll
put the article link in here, but it says five
days after Hurricane Melissa pummeled into western Jamaica with record force.

(27:13):
Residents and devastated communities along the coast are still desperately
waiting for help. Many of the roads are blocked with
debris and people are isolated with little to no food
or no running water, no idea when normalcy will come again.
And so I'm gonna skip down. You can go and
read the article because I'll put it in the commons.

(27:34):
But I just wanted to show some of these images
from BBC. BBC dot com is who credits this image here,
and I wanted to show you a few of these images.
Can you see them? Okay? All right? This is This
is devastation, and these are people of color. That are

(27:55):
people that I want us to help. I want us
to help them. But it doesn't matter if they were
another nationality. I would want to help them too. But
about four hundred thousand people in Jamaica are we're without
power as a Friday, and untold number have no access
to cell phone service. They cannot call their family or friends,

(28:15):
and they're cut off from the entire outside world. Can
you imagine us here in the United States being cut
off from our family and our friends and our loved ones.
We can't reach out to say that we're in a
desperate situation. This is the voice today for those that
are voiceless. Okay, I mean I'm just putting images. Look

(28:39):
at this and this is a residence of White House
in Westmoreland Parish trying to piece their lives back together.
Thank you BBC for allowing me the opportunity to share
those images. Ah Okay, I'm trying to think of what,
how has this really deepened your spiritual walk? Sean and
Denise talk to me from that perspective.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
I think that I think that it is a reminder
of how good God is and how gracious he is. Right.
I look at a lot of situations and a lot

(29:24):
of instances where some view it as bad and I
view it as it could be worse. I look at
things like God was there, right, God kept individuals alive.

(29:44):
Some individuals in the same breath may have been in
the middle of a disaster and lost the roof but
didn't lose their house, right. Or you lost your home,
but you still have your family. You didn't lose your family, right,
You're able to walk away and say I still have
my brother's sister aunt and cousin. Right. I think a

(30:05):
lot of us take not take for granted, but you
forget how good God is. Right. I think a lot
of us on in the States that have a home
and have food and have clothes, and we complain about
things that other people would be, you know, overzealous to have.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
Right.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
We we we we we forget how good God is.
We forget how gracious God is. We forget the power
that God has. And I think it's a reminder, right,
a reminder to remember what God gave you, Remember how
far God has brought you, Remember what He has blessed

(30:50):
you with, and and and be a good steward of it. Right,
Be a good steward of what He's given to you
in the time that He's given to you, and opportunity
that he has given to you. And I believe I
said it earlier that God blesses us so that we
are able to bless others. So I think this is
just another example of God's call to action. Right, I've

(31:14):
blessed you so that you can bless someone else, that
you can help somebody else.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Is anybody that's hearing this, is this resonating with you?
If you are knowing that God is pricking your heart
to donate to this initiative one hundred percent of the
proceeds based on what I'm understanding, Brian Sean, is that correct? Yes, yes, ma'am,
one hundred percent of the proceeds are going to go

(31:43):
to help these families. And someone did say, Vivian in
the studio audience said yes, every and any donation counts.
Every and any donation counts. I also see Pastor my
Roach and Lady Tamika Roach are watching today and participating.

(32:06):
Thank you so much for being here. Pastor Michael Roach
from Greater Church. And how important is it to have
a pastor and a first lady that believes in a
project that you're spearheading. Talked to us about that.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
I think it. I mean it means the world, right.
I think you can go far by yourself, you can
go further as a group. Right. You can go much
further with help, much further with community. There's power in council, right.
There's power in having someone to turn to good guidance,

(32:45):
good direction, and the will and the want to help. Right,
Because some people will help but not really want to
out of obligation. There's a difference. There's a different move
when you want to help, when you want to be
a part of something thing, when you want to make
a difference and be selfless. So I'm just grateful to
have leaders that are all of the above and more.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
They are incredible leaders and I'm proud to know them
and to have spent time over the many years in
helping to I believe, help nurture who God created them
to be too, because God has some tremendous things that's
happening through Greater Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. I know
our program is global, so you may or may not

(33:31):
know where Greater Church is, but in the Charlotte in
the Concord, North Carolina area, if you look for a
Greater Church, you're going to find Pastor Michael and Lady
Tamika Roach. And if you would, Sean put it into
private chat, the information for the church. I like to
be able to share that with everyone, and that way

(33:52):
you get a chance. We just recently, they just recently
celebrated an anniversary and I like to give honor where
honor is due. And thank you so much for sending
this picture to me, Sean. I really appreciate it. I
honor you Pastor Michael and Lady Tamika Roach, and they're
doing some phenomenal, cutting edge, out of the box things.

(34:13):
So this initiative does not surprise me at all that
Greater Church is backing it, and so I'm really proud
of it. Thank you so much for trusting me here
on the Kim Jacob Show to share your stories in
your journey. I appreciate it. Yeah, so let's go back
and just talk a little bit more about because you

(34:36):
all are going to be my guest today. There's some
technical things happening with my other guests, So today we're
going to spend this time here and then I will
have our councilwoman from the Direspora Global Diaspora come on
on a different episode. Because the more we can get
out there about this help that's needed in Jamaica, the

(34:57):
more episodes I'd be more than honored to do. So
I do want to find out from you, Rashan, how
has this experience really made you feel more connected with
your Jamaican roots that you were like really kind of
starting to learn about. Oh wait, it's muted some kind.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Of way, can you hear me now?

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Yes, yes, yes, it has made me closer.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
To family that prior I may have touch bases with,
whereas now we have so much more constant communication almost daily,
just checking in, just talking about life and kind of

(35:55):
being able to be there with them through this sign
without physically being there, right, being being able to help
someone else feel like they're not alone. Right, have some
family that close in age with me that they are
the head of their house. It's just them. They kind

(36:16):
of support themselves, and you know, the tragedy came through,
and you know, it can be deflating, right, Things like
this can be deflating, especially when you're a young adult.
You're a young male, you kind of provide for yourself.
And on top of that, you're already in a system
and a community in which that's already difficult. Right, It's

(36:40):
already made difficult coming by your next meal or the
meal for next week is already difficult. Right, So this
just puts another added layer of shreds of hardship on
top of what was already not the easiest situation. So
I think it's important, right in instances is like that,

(37:00):
to make sure that the next person understands that you're
not alone, and especially when it's family right, that's what
family is for, so you don't feel like you're alone.
So I say all that to say it has brought
me closer to that side of the family that I
didn't have that much communication with prior.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Okay, but now you're connected stronger than ever. So it's
a family bond that we can see can be broken,
lives can be changed forever. People are still out there
that aren't that we don't even know how they're doing
because there's no way for them to communicate. They may
be safe, praise God if that's the case, but they

(37:42):
may not be safe and may have lost their lives,
but you still don't even know that. And so this
is a real This is a real, real situation. It's
kind of when September eleventh happened a lot of times.
I mean, people were at work in different places and
cell towers were being hidden. It was a lot happening.
And when you lose connection and you have no way

(38:03):
to communicate with people that you love, and they're even
just down the street but you can't even communicate with them,
it is a very devastating situation. So I'm grateful that
you've taken this, Sean and decided that you're going to
show families, family and loved ones how important they are,
regardless of our differences, because sometimes people have differences. So

(38:26):
then it's like, oh, I don't want to deal with you.
What what if I could never deal with you again.
Denise talked to me too about with with your perspective
on how maybe this is some kind of way deep
in your relationship with your family because you have you
have your husband, your son, your family. Talk to me

(38:48):
about that.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Well, of my family, it's pretty small, I would say,
And I would say I do have a pretty close
relationship with my family. You know, my mom is there,
my daddy is there, my siblings are there. One of
the things that I keep finding myself thinking about is

(39:15):
the times when a family member will call. You may
be in the middle of I know, I'm guilty of that.
I may be in the middle of watching something, I
may be answering emails. I'm like, oh, I'll talk to
them later.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
You know.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
I remember doing all of this watching a story where
the lady spoke about the fact that her dad had
called two days before and she was in the grocery store,
and she was like, I'll just call him later. She
forgot to call her dad. Later the hurricane hit, her
dad passed away. So for me, that resonated with me, like,
whatever it is that I'm doing, I just need to

(39:50):
make sure that I stopped, even if it's just the
answer the phone and say hey, I'll call you back.
So that was something that you know, kind of you know,
made me realize that, you know, what all you have
is this moment right here. The next moment, one minute
to the next is not guaranteed. So we got to
we have to make sure that we are season the moment,

(40:12):
season the moment that we have right now. So that
is like my takeaway from all of this is not
to put off what I can do in this moment,
especially when it comes to my family reaching out from
Jamaica to say, oh, I'm going to call them tomorrow
because they may not be here tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
I'm trying to keep my own composure together as the host.
So I'm not over here completely like, well, i just
got to take a nap at this point because I'm overwhelmed.
I am. I am overwhelmed by this because I think
about I think about the fact that I'm a mother
and these are people's children and loved ones that are
not going to be able to come back home, they're

(40:54):
not coming back on this earth. We can reunite with them,
as God says in heaven and we look forward to
that day. That's the hope that we have. But what
hope do you hope to spread regarding the situation in
Jamaica from your you can each individually just answer that
what is what is the message that you want to
get out to people so that they know the importance

(41:14):
of donating today.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
I think for me to summit up, we see you,
we hear you, we hear the need, We see the need.
You are not ignored, you are worthy of it, and
we're here to help and we will help.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
And for me, the message that I want to get
out there, you know, because I have folks that's telling me, oh,
you're doing too much. You can't see the world today.
It's Jamaica, tomorrow maybe us. It's not a if we're
going to face a natural disaster, it's a win, right,

(41:58):
it's a win. And we would hope that when it's
our time, we would hope that the nation stands up
for us. We would hope that no one thinks that
you know, I can't save them. So I'm just going
to turn a blind high because it's a matter of
when it's not an if. It's when.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
It's a not an if, it's a win. All of
us will experience some level of devastation in our lives
at some point. It may not be through a natural disaster.
It may be through the loss of a loved one.
It may be through loss of a relationship, a marriage.
It may be loss of a job. It may be

(42:41):
loss of income and the snap benefits shutting down. Whatever
is your own devastation that you are experiencing, that's the
weight of the world on your shoulders. Can you imagine
how you feel right now, and you can see how
you feel with whatever you consider to be the weight
of the world. That's just too much to bear. But now,

(43:05):
for some reason, you're still here on this earth and
you're able to get to the other side of your mountain.
There are some people that have lost their lives. They
are stranded in different parts of Jamaica and they cannot
reach out for health. This I said. These two individuals
here have made it their mission for right now, in

(43:27):
addition to their church, greater church, to provide resources to Jamaica.
So I would like for us, and I know I'm
talking slow on purpose because I want you to please
let me know that you're going to donate. Donate something,
Donate five dollars, ten dollars, two hundred dollars, two thousand dollars,

(43:49):
donate twenty thousand, Donate whatever amount you are able to give,
and partner right now with Rashan and help them exceed
their goal. If everybody just gives something, I promise you
the goal could be met to. What else do you

(44:10):
want to say? I want to put some more images
up to but feel free to keep talking while I
start putting some of these depths. You know what, Before
you do that, I want to talk about your dad too, Rashaan,
because we haven't talked about him any and I know
he plays a key part in order for you to
be here Denise today. Oh like, do you know what

(44:34):
I mean over there on that screen?

Speaker 3 (44:38):
My dad he currently lives in New York, so that's
where I go to visit often. Also born raised in Jamaica.
And funny thing is my grandmother on my mother's side lives.
You can say they're basically neighbors to my grandmother on

(44:58):
my father's side. So this past this past trip when
we went to Jamaica, when I go, I typically like
to go and try to see both of my grandparents,
both of the family side. So it's always good seeing
my grandmother. It's we we kind of typically have a
little chuckle talking about my dad and uh the similarities

(45:22):
and then the differences. My dad is kind of a
quiet guy, so my grandmother loves to bring up like, yeah,
your dad was just here and you know it's probably
here for seven days and probably said seven things. So
it's always a good time. And that's also another part
of you know, of the family that we're trying to
look out for, uh, just as a community.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
Okay, I'm so glad that you got a chance to
speak about him as well. And I do see that
your pastor said, Pastor Mike said, we are one hundred
percent here, we are here, we are standing with Sean
and and let's see you said, great show. Thank you
so much, Pastor Mike. I appreciate your endorsement. Okay, so

(46:06):
you said also Greater Church is supporting one hundred percent.
They are supporting one hundred percent. We're on we're here,
We're supporting we're believing in this initiative and we're backing
it is what greater Church with Pastor Mike and Lady
Tamika Roach are saying. Okay, So I when I keep

(46:32):
looking at the images, these images overwhelmed me because this
puts it more in perspective. You can be one day,
one moment, not even one day one moment. Everything can
be sun sunny and bright and vibrant, the sky is blue,
and then the next minute, hurricane winds can come forward

(46:53):
at one hundred and eighty five miles, ripping through the
community and there is very little chance of survival in
situations like this. And these images again are from all
manner of places, whether it's CNN, BBC, PBS, I said,
a whole bunch of different places that I'm going to
treat this information from. But look at the devastation when

(47:17):
you see these images. What does what does this mean
to you? Denise?

Speaker 3 (47:23):
It feels like.

Speaker 2 (47:24):
A nightmare, like quite honestly, having gone through a hurricane
myself that I thought was bad, Like I thought it
was the worst thing I could have ever experienced. What's
seeing these images It's like a nightmare for me, Like
it keeps me up at night. It makes me. This
is truly I prime myself on being a humble person,

(47:47):
but I think this has truly humbled me a whole lot.
Like things that I thought that I needed to have,
it's no longer important for me. Right, It's like, like, recently,
just to be you know, transparent, like I recently paid
off I don't like having debts like credit card debts. Right,
So I recently paid off like all my credit card debt,

(48:10):
which was about four thousand dollars, and then boom with
the hurricane here, and I felt the need to help someone,
like I felt the need to help someone. And I'm
sitting I'm like, well, just paid off my credit card
dent and here I am thinking about racking up a
credit card to help somebody pay for materials. And then

(48:35):
all I kept hearing God saying is I provided the
resources for you to be able to pay off those
credit card debts. I will provide the resources in the
event you have to use your credit card to help
even one individual. So again, this has truly truly humbled me.

Speaker 1 (48:59):
And I don't think people can really relate until something
happens directly to them. So I know when my son
passed away nobody. I felt like people were giving their
very best to be sympathetic, empathetic. But when you have
your own house be ripped from out of your existence,

(49:21):
and your own family removed from your life, never again
to see that family member on this earth, it hits
you differently. When you see these images, it hits you differently.
These people that were in these homes living their own
best life, whatever their best life version was, it's ripped

(49:41):
from them. It's gone, doesn't exist, it will never be
the same again, no matter how it rebuilds, no matter
how it comes together, no matter how much resiliency these
people have, life is changed forever, forever.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
And just to have another to that, especially like in
the Saint Elizabeth and West Morning. You know, a lot
of the a lot of the parishes, like the western
southern parishes. This is where we get a lot of
our produce from. Right, So when you think about like
a lot of the affected people in those areas, they
lost their entire belonging and they also lost their livelihood

(50:23):
all in one. You know, you got a lot of
people where they were like on produce for income, and
then you have a lot of people where they were
like taxi drivers. So you got the taxi drivers lost
their house, lost their cars, and then you have the farmers,
they lost everything. So it's just a lot all in

(50:43):
a few hours for someone to lose everything.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
And there's no words. How what are words that we
can say to describe the devastation there? There are no words.
I can't think of. I can't even google a word
to think of. What would do these individuals justice right now?
To give them what they need. The only thing is
only by the grace of God that he would touch

(51:09):
somebody's heart like yours to be able to come onto
a platform into any shows and to say, hey, y'all,
do everything you can. Sacrifice a meal, sacrifice, just turn
your plate down and instead of going to get some
fast food for you and your family or whatever, a
bag of groceries, send send that amount to just help

(51:33):
somebody that they have no means, they don't have water,
they don't have access to the outside world. They cannot
even get to help. So some kind of way, somebody
got to get to them. Something has to get to
these people. I know, I probably I'm just going on
and on, and I am intentionally and it's intentional because

(51:55):
I want to see the numbers increase. So I don't
want to say I'm begging, because I don't think you
should have to beg I do believe you should simply
be able to ask. And I don't care if it's
a million people tuned in or if it's two, It
does not matter to me. God has already given us
everything that we need right here on this episode, whether
you're hearing it or you're listening or listening on WDRB

(52:20):
media dot com. I'm now a new host on there,
and that's a nationally syndicated radio broadcast. Whether you're seeing
it on one of our television outlets on roku or
wherever you're tuning in to the Kim Jacob Show, make sure,
under the sound of my voice that you donate today.

(52:42):
Let me give you the way to donate because some
of you may not be able to see it, So
GoFundMe dot com and then if you type in support
that's Jamaican families devastated by hurricane and then it's a
donate thank you share. Please make sure you do that.
The goal is to raise twelve thousand, five hundred dollars

(53:05):
and I'm gonna keep refreshing because I want to see
the donations are coming in right now. Donations are coming in,
and we thank you for your donations. I see an
anonymous donor. I see Jen, I see Joscelyn, I see anonymous,
I see the Kim Jacob Show. I see I'm naming
some of these donors that's coming in because I see Deanna,

(53:26):
I see you Jennifer, I see you, Tricia, I see
you Sean. I see you all donating. Please go ahead
and donate now. I would love to do a shout
out for you right here on this episode as you're donating,
almost like a giv lathon. We can come back and
do another episode part two. I don't whatever it takes.
I would like to carve out time on The Kim

(53:48):
Jacob Show to use my gift and talent, which is
just to provide a platform for y'all.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
We appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
Anything you want to say. I want to also let
me do this too. Let me thank doctor Marcia Austin.
She was the one that coordinated this quick turnaround meeting,
and so I really appreciate you, doctor Marcia Austin. She's
the author of They Said, I Said, God Say It,

(54:16):
And it's a book that she reached recently authored and
it's the best selling book as well. So I just
want to say thank you to doctor Marcia Austin for
being a great connector any other thoughts, comments, things that
we didn't say that you know you really want to sing.

Speaker 3 (54:30):
I want to add that we are also taking any
food supplies, clothes, shoes, toiletrees, etc. We are also gathering
those materials as well to be able to provide help
in that form. Also, so if anyone is in the

(54:51):
Charlotte area, if you are in the North Carolina area,
the Carolinas or anywhere nearby and are willing to help,
we will collect donations. You can bring it to Greater Church.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
C O T.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
I did put the address.

Speaker 1 (55:04):
Okay here I put this up. Wait a minute before
you even say the address, let me do want more.
While I'm putting the address, go ahead and tell them
how they can donate be a cash app. And I'm
getting the address. First, Greater Job.

Speaker 3 (55:16):
Donate via cash app, which will be dollars signed s
H A W N as in Nancy V I E.

Speaker 1 (55:26):
W okay, and then Greater Church Charlotte. And I'm putting
that right now too. And I want you to tell
people when they can come and donate clothing and different things.
Tell everybody that as well.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
You can bring clothing Wednesdays by between six pm and
nine pm. You can also come anytime Saturday and Sunday
as well.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Wednesdays six pm. I'm putting it here in the comments
section six pm to nine pm, or on Saturdays and
Sundays at what time?

Speaker 3 (56:13):
Anytime during those two days.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
Say anytime? Okay, all right, So I'm putting all of
this in the comments section for everybody, and then we're
also repeating it for our audio listeners. You can bring
clothing on Wednesdays from six to nine pm. So any
clothing that's gently used, brand new, bring it over to
Greater Church, Charlotte. And you can do that on Wednesdays

(56:37):
from six to nine pm, Saturdays and Sundays at any time.
And then you can do that by going if you're
in the Charlotte area to two four zero Pitts School
Road Northwest and Concord, North Carolina. Two eight two seven
is the area code. If you know that you're nowhere
near the Carolinas, because you're this show streams and one

(57:00):
hundred and forty countries, so you may not even be
anywhere near. You can go to donate at the GoFundMe
page that says support Jamaican families devastated about Hurricane and
that is where you'll go and donate to this initiative.
Let me also tell you you can cash app dollar

(57:20):
sign Sean Shawn View v I E W Sean View
cash app. Are you if you're I would like to
know if you're getting any cash apps and donations. I
want to make sure that this is happening. Make sure
you guys are who's cash apping? Somebody should cash happing.

(57:42):
I see all of y'all on here on different platforms.
I can see all Doctor Marc, I can see you,
Miss Branch, I can see you, King JaQuel, I can
see you, Lady Jay, I can see you, Jared's Hart.
I see all of you. A lot of you are
business owners and entrepreneurs out there. I want to make
sure that some cash apps are going forward and some
go fund me donations are happening for the cause, not

(58:04):
for these people, for the people that are devastated and
stranded in Jamaica. They have no means to communicate on
their own behalf. They're voiceless in this particular instance, in
this moment of time, when you don't have a voice,
don't you want someone to speak on your behalf. I
didn't have a voice just recently for like a week

(58:24):
and some change, and I was invited to speak different
places and I had to bring somebody along with me
to be my voice. And that was just because my
voice went hoarse. I was like, imagine if I'm somewhere
on a stranded island and I can't reach out for help,
I can't get to anybody that I know loves me

(58:44):
and cares about me. Y'all all right, I don't want
to get two worked done over here. I have to
definitely take a nap. What else do you want to say?
Anything else that you want to say today? So people
that's watching this episode, we just want you to join

(59:06):
in this effort, whether it's through donations, partnership, community support,
whatever you can do to help revitalize the spirit of
the Jamaican people in these times, and put yourself in
those shoes as best as you can. You really can't
but put yourself in the shoes of people that are

(59:27):
disconnected from society at that level. Now, there are some
that are not disconnected and things are kind of getting
back to normalcy. We're not talking about that. We're talking
about those that cannot even get to roads because the
roads are cut off, and the only way that the
footage can even happen is through aerial views of helicopters
that's coming and trying to assess the situation and dropping

(59:50):
fruit from above. That's what we're talking about. Any closing comments,
and you're muted over there or not muted, but you know,
something keeps happening with that phone connection. But it's all
good because that's the trick of the enemy trying to try.

(01:00:10):
Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Yeah, I just want to thank everyone who was donated.
We truly appreciate it. And I, like my grandmother would
always say, I pray you your your basket will never
be empty.

Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
Prayer your baskets will never be empty. Go ahead, Sean.

Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
I just wanted to echo that. I just wanted to
say thank you to all who have donated. Thank you
to those who have not yet donated but will, thank
you to those who will donate supplies, resources. Thank you
for everyone for your prayers, right even if you sent
prayers over for the lives in Jamaica. So I just
want to thank everyone in every facet for any form

(01:00:54):
of help that you provided.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
And we want to also thank you for facilitating this
this so honor.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
It's my honor. I just want to say a word
of prayer. Heavenly Father and the precious name of Jesus. Lord,
you're the author, You're the finisher of our faith. Lord.
You can do all things but fail. Father. So right now, Lord,
beyond anything that we could ever ask financially, Father, I'm
asking that you just intervene on behalf of the Jamaican people. Lord, Lord,

(01:01:23):
I ask right now that you give them everything that
they stand in the need of. Lord. You say that
we can ask anything in your name, and if it
be according to your will, it can happen. So Lord,
right now, in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord, we're
asking for financial relief. We're asking for revitalization, We're asking

(01:01:43):
for restoration. We're asking for healing. Lord. We say that
it's by your stripes that we can claim healing. So
we're claiming healing right now in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Lord.
You are the author, you are the finisher of our faith. Lord,
and we trust and believe you. Lord Lord, We believe
that you're going to restore these people. Lord. Lord, we

(01:02:04):
believe that you're going to give them everything that they
stand in the need of through us, not just through
random people, Lord, but through us. Lord, you have a
chosen people that's going to stand up and intervene on
their behalf. And Lord, just like you say, it's important
for us to treat others as we would want to
be treated. So right now, Lord, we're doing unto Jamaica

(01:02:25):
as we would want done to the United States. And Lord,
asked that you bless it supernaturally. Lord, that you give favor,
that you allow your holy ears to be inclined to
hear our prayers. And Lord, we believe that you will
make them victorious. We pray this in your holy and
precious name. And Lord for the selfless act that Rashan

(01:02:48):
Greater Church, Pastor Mike, Pastor Pastor Tamika, and Denise and everyone,
Doctor Marcia and every one of them, Lord, for their
selfless act of kindness. Lord, everything that they stand in
the need of. God, ask that you bless them with
it and blow their minds supernaturally. Lord, that they have

(01:03:09):
need for nothing because men and women have given into
their bosoms as well. I pray this in Jesus Precious
and Holy Name. Amen. I love y'all and I'm really
glad that we had this time together. Thank you all
for everyone that's in the studio audience today. Your participation

(01:03:30):
is not taken for granted. We greatly appreciate you. I'm
going to put one more time how people can donate.
Please tell them how they can donate.

Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
You can donate via our GoFundMe again, you can just
search support Jamaican Families Devastated by the hurricane. You will
see my name pop up as the creator of it,
so that would be the one that you would.

Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
Select Rashon Trail. Make sure you select the one that
has Rashan Trail on it. And before you go forward,
I want to show the screen one more time because
I do not want you to donate and then later
call back and say anything about, oh, we gave our
money and it was a scam and it was because
you heard it on the Kim Jacob Show. I'm telling

(01:04:12):
you to make sure that it's this image support Jamaican
Families Devastated by hurricane and it's Rashawn Sean Trail. Sean
Trail is whose name is the creator of this particular goalfundme.
Right now, three hundred and thirty five dollars has been raised.
They just started this initiative. The goal is to have

(01:04:35):
twelve thousand, five hundred dollars raised, so please do that y.

Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
You can also send it via cash app, dollar sign
Sean Shawn Views hawnbi e W. You can also direct
over to the Greater Church Colt Instagram page. That page
you will see a post that reflects the same initiative

(01:05:04):
that we are doing right now, and in the bio
of that Instagram page you will see a link tree,
and within that link tree it will also redirect you
to the go fund me as well.

Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
Okay, I'm typing that too, So make sure if you
want a cash app, because some people live by cash app,
go ahead and cash app to dollar sign Sean Shawn View.
One hundred percent of the proceeds are going to go
to the Jamaica Relief Effort. If you'd like to donate,
let me put the IG page for a Greater Church

(01:05:42):
Charlotte IG page. There is a link in the bio
that gives you further directions, so make sure that you
go to the IG page and if you are interested
in donating clothes or you want to donate food or
other items, you can do that on Wednesdays six pm
to nine pm, or Saturdays and Sundays anytime, and you

(01:06:04):
go to if you're in the Charlotte surrounding areas in Concord,
North Carolina two forty Pitts School Road, Northwest Concord, North Carolina,
two eight zero two seven, that's where you would physically
bring some items. All right, did I cover everything? Okay?
The IG is Greater Church CLT. Okay, all right, I

(01:06:25):
know we took extra time today. It was intentional. I'm
a pastor as well, but I didn't even talk about
my church today because it's not about my church. It's
about we talking about who's doing this initiative. And so
IG is Greater Church Charlotte CLT, Greater Church CLT. They
are spearheading in the Charlotte and surrounding areas an initiative

(01:06:48):
to get support relief over to Jamaica, so that those
people that are standing in need can get what they
need immediately. How good and how pleasant it is for
brethren to dwell together in unity. Let's not worry about
competition in life. Y'all. If you are a church, if

(01:07:09):
you are an organization, if you are a business owner,
and you know that you're not sending stuff over there,
please connect with this resource and let the people be helped.
All right, I do today, hey man. Pastor Mike said, amen,
all right, all right, any closing comments and then we're

(01:07:31):
gonna go.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
We appreciate you. Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
All right, everybody, thank you all for tuning in to
this episode of The Kim Jacob Show. I see all
of your comments. I've heard a lot of your comments.
I tried to acknowledge as many as possible. See your
donations coming in. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you on behalf of Pastor Michael and Lady Tamika
Roach from Greater Church Charlotte. Thank you on behalf of

(01:07:57):
doctor Marcia Austin, who's been a sign to help spearhead
this initiative. And thank you Sean Trail and Denise Sterling,
his mother who came forward to say enough is enough.
Somebody got to care about these people and put our
own issues aside with what we got going on with

(01:08:18):
the government and the snaps and the government shut down
and all of that. These people have lost a lot
of them have lost their lives. We don't know how
many still have it, don't have life because we can't
even get to them. Step up and do something. Just
do something, somebody type that, do something. All right, that's it.

(01:08:38):
I'm gonna go. I don't know a way to end
this because no matter how I could talk forever, I
could go on and on because I love what you
all are doing. May God bless you. Thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you. Is not enough. Thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. May God
bless you one hundredfold for what you're doing to change

(01:09:02):
the world. And the world starts with change, just one
person at a time. Absolutely, Denise, I don't want to
deprive you as the mother of this wonderful son. Any
closing comment, Please, thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
I appreciate it. That's all I can say.

Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
And do you feel like God is endorsing you on
the inside and pushing you to do this?

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
Just absolutely, absolutely so.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
It's not something you could not do right. You had
to do it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
No, I had to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
That's when you know it's for you to do because
you can't rest. Everybody else is just chilling. It's like, no,
this is your issue that people are really most people
don't realize that the gifts and the talents that God
gave us is he wants it to happen, and sometimes
it's never going to happen if you're not the one
that makes it happen, because it's for you to do it.

(01:10:00):
It's your promised land. It's what God gave you. Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
He's like, oh, Joshua, yeah, And a lot of people
don't understand that, like they don't understand my drive. And
I think throughout this entire process, that has been the
most frustrating thing, even from some Jamaicans that are saying
you're doing too much, like it frustrates me, like I
can't see it and just walk away like others may
be able to do that, but that's not how God

(01:10:27):
made me. I have to help.

Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
If it's even one.

Speaker 1 (01:10:30):
Person, that's when you know it is what He intends
for you to do. It may not even rub anybody
else the wrong way, it may not even be their issue.
Can sleep peacefully at night. That's Jamaica and got nothing
to do with me and all of that drama. But
when it won't allow you to get rest and peace,
then that's when you know it's your charge, it's your assignment.

(01:10:53):
God trusts you with it, and he's going to open
up the windows of heaven, not just doors, open up
the window of heaven, and he's going to pour out
blessings that you denise. You, Rashaan, have no room enough
to receive to the point where when you pay your
credit card debt off, you have to bless somebody else.
Absolutely all right, Rashaan, go ahead, say one last thing.

Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
I just want to add that again. No donation is
too small. I think I think that sometimes people may
feel like if I'm not giving one hundred, if I
can't give one fifty, then you feel maybe shame or
embarrassment in giving the five or in giving the ten.

(01:11:38):
But the fives in the tens add up right, the
ones in the twos, Adam, So please, please, please whatever
you can donate. No number is too small, no number
is too big. Right, everything is appreciated and thank you
in advance.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
Right. Amen, is again the closing comment from your pastorest
Michael Roach. They have a beautiful new church facility that
God just blessed them. With you want to make your
way over there on Sundays. What time at what time?

Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
Anytime on Sunday?

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
What time is church?

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
I'm sorry, Am ten am?

Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
Is the church service at Greater Church Charlotte in Concord,
North Carolina. You definitely don't want to miss the opportunity
to fellowship with Greater Church. And the address I put
it up early. I'm just gonna put it up one
more time is two forty Pitts School Road Northwest and Concord,
North Carolina, two eight zero two seven, and we're going

(01:12:40):
to end on that note. Go ahead and donate right now,
cash app dollar sign Sean View. I hope that you're
sending the cash apps right now. If not, make sure
you do it at some point before you close your
eyes to night. God bless you all. Thank you for
being my special guest today. I love you all, grateful
to know you, honored to know you, and you come
back anytime. All right, everybody, that's today's episode of The

(01:13:03):
Kim Jacobs Show. Yes, it was a special addition, and
we did go a little bit longer intentionally because we
need to think of someone more highly than we think
of ourselves. Apostle Paul says, if we don't have love,
he didn't say, we're not like anything. We are nothing.
You are nothing if you don't have love. If I
don't have love, I'm nothing. I'm not nothing if I

(01:13:27):
don't have love. And this is a true opportunity to
show love to God's people in Jamaica. God bless you all.
Have a great one. I love y'all. Thank you for
tuning in to today's episode of The Kim Jacob Show
and for being in the Virtual studio audience. Your presence
truly does make a difference, and I look forward to
you bringing your friends and family to join you in

(01:13:49):
the Virtual Studio audience Monday through Friday at eleven o'clock
am Eastern Standard Time. I look forward to seeing you
and make it a great day. China.
