It's such an honor to have you here. And people

(02:03):
I'm not going to go through every aspect because I'm
gonna give her a chance to share her backstory. But
I'm so glad to have you here today on the
Kim Jacobs Show.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Thank you so much, Kim. Wow, that was great?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Was it wasn't that's you in a nutshell? It's a
whole bunch more than I didn't even say. But it's
so many things that people will learn about you to
throughout today's conversation, I wanted us to just start with
just understanding what transpired or inspired you to even transform
from being an attorney because that's like probably a good

(02:35):
starting place to being a holistic business and transformation coach,
because that's two different ends of the spectrum there.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Well, usually it's there takes some event in someone's life
as we're if we're a woman or a person in transition,
and we go from a career move or a lifestyle
move to something using what we have but in another's genre.

(03:05):
And for me, it was a divorce that just really
kicked me, woke me up and said, okay, it's time
to get on my path now. I'm sure we'll get
into it. But it wasn't as simple as that, Kim,
I know, and usually it's not. So there's there's there's

(03:25):
all sort of jags and zigs and zags in that road.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
You know what, when you said the zigs and zags,
it immediately put me in the mindset because I'm also divorced,
and you said that with such grace and dignity, and
you know it was for me, it was a divorce
and I was like, WHOA, that was really professionally worded.
So those zigs and zags in the road whenever you
were when you were married, however far you want to

(03:54):
go back into that component, talk to us about what
made you come to that realization that now I I
have to stand for me for a change, because that's
what ends up happening.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It seems, yeah, I have to stand for me. And
I made a vow at that time that if I'm
going through this and it's not easy, and it just
really it really stretched me to the limits that women
out there. And I primarily work with women, I have

(04:24):
worked with men too, So if men are listening, we're
going to apply this all to you too. That it's
that we need to be supported through changes and challenges
and transitions in our life. And look, I'm a certified
life coach. I'm also a certified a divorce and transformation

(04:46):
coach as well. I'm also in my legal career. I've
done divorces. I've mostly mediation and collaborative, so I understand
the whole process that change, that transition, change, how it
can shake up your world because it shook up my
world and it's not just getting through that process. It's

(05:08):
it's the before, during, and especially the after that leaves
you some place to It's a it's an opportunity, but
it doesn't always feel like an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
That's that's that's again masterfully said, because when you're when
you're going through that situation, you're not exactly sure what
the next season or the next chapter will look like
because you planned. I'm sure I can. I can't speak
for everyone. I know. I plan to be in that
for the rest of my life. So all of the
decisions that we're making in that time frame, and Barb

(05:43):
speak to your own story. It seems like that is
what we're basing our decisions on. So were you Were
you already equipped with some of these tools in your
tool bag prior to divorce that you were able to
just then spin off and do this thriving business or
did you have to equip yourself in order.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
To Apparently I had some innate stuff in me that
I didn't know that I had, because when we venture
into being of service to people, there's something in us
that we have that speaks that this is the path
we are going to take. But I certainly had to

(06:23):
learn skills and more than skills. It's not only the
secret to you know, making a transition. A transformation is
the skill set. I always say, you can acquire the
it's the mindset that needs something that needs some work,
need some honing. And if you were not on that

(06:48):
type of a path, and then it's never really going
to resonate for you. If that is the path for you,
then like it was for me, then it's seems difficult
because you have to transition. I was an attorney in
we're talking about my professional life, I was always also

(07:08):
a stay at home mom for a period of my life.
So now I have a totally switch gears, let the
white picket sense, dream and vision go and start carving
a new path. So that brings in a whole new
set of things that we then start working with.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
That's good because I know it must be critically important
for us to know our value and how impactful we
can be. So I was wondering, would you like to
just share any words of encouragement for women because we're
going to get off the divorce topic, but for women
that may be experiencing divorce, because that's a big part
of how some women are balancing their lives to know

(07:48):
their value and the impact that they bring to this world.
Any thoughts on that.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Well, a lot of a lot of thoughts that more
than an hour, right, that is pretty much the corner
cornerstone of everything I do, because when you get to
the root or root of everything, it's about our value
and how we value ourselves and making that mindset shift.

(08:15):
If we look, you introduced me with all these great
you know, like a list there of things that I've done.
But normally the most experienced people will pooh pooh what
they have, what their list is, what makes their greatness
within so so valuable? And well, yeah I did that,

(08:36):
but that kind of like our mind God, that doesn't
really matter. Well it does, it absolutely does. I hear.
I hear some people say, well, you don't, like I
don't have an artistic talent. People really have to have
a talent to really do things, like you have to
be a singer or something in the arts or some

(08:59):
to really really really shine. And absolutely not you. I
mean absolutely yes. I guess we can say that we
all have a talent and a lot of times we're
poo pooing it and it we put everything. It's not
only our skills it's not only our expertise, it's not

(09:19):
only our experience, but it's all of that and we
all put we put it in a blender and we
can start carving that balance, fulfilled life that we want
to And here's the thing. What we all want to do.
We want to live life on our own terms. And
that doesn't mean it as a solo person. That means

(09:40):
we want the freedom to guide our lives in the
direction that we wanted to go in and not being
controlled by fear. So I would say fear is the
first thing that we have to get a handle on.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
That's good. So yeah, in the comment section, make sure
that you type get a handle on you or fear
gain control of that so that your mindset is already
going forward fearless and knowing that you can accomplish what
it is that you are striving to do. So you
have the Seeds for Success, and that's one of your

(10:15):
trademark programs. I wanted you to talk a little bit
about what that program entails and even possibly share a
story of somebody that transformed under the direction of the
Seats for Success program.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Okay, well I certainly have I know, so I'm my
own best Gerson here a case study, but I certainly
have lots of case studies. Let's say it's an acronym
for bloom b l o O M, So let's start
with the blook B B is for be positive. And
that's the mindset that's going from you know that glass

(10:52):
half time to glass half fault mentality. It's going from
a fixed mindset, which is about I see a challenge
and we start making a hard stop. We're not necessarily
putting in all of our resources that we can tap into.
We see it and there's a big challenge, and we

(11:12):
figure there's no way I can climb this mountain. And
that's the ship. The ship, and then I call about
the shift. The shift is to get to the growth mindset.
It's the same challenge or you're always going to have challenges,
but now with this mindset we go hmmm, Okay, there's
a big boulder in my way. Now I'm going to
climb in, AM, I'm going to dig under it, AM,

(11:34):
I'm going to go around it. Right, So we start
coming up with some solution mind thinking process to help
us go through. And it's not the end of the world.
So to switch to this mindset deposition. Now l is
els always love what you do. I'm going to simplify

(11:55):
it to love yourself. Love if you if you love yourself,
you're going to love what you do. You're not going
to put yourself into a situation that is just a
tie which is not a fit for you. But you're
going to love yourself. And that's when we get into
the value. We totally get into value, which is if

(12:19):
you've got your mindset and you know your value, then
the next three are going to be much easier. Now
those two doing a mind shift mind shift, mindset shift
and shifting from I don't know where my worth is
to really knowing your value to the journey in itself.

(12:41):
And then we get into the next three. And the
first O is for own your power, and that's really
owning your authentic self, not necessarily what everybody wants you
to be, but who you truly are, your essence. And
then the second O is to organize, and that's where
we get the balance piece in right, that's where and

(13:04):
my balance or my organizm may look way different, may
look chaotic to you, but it makes sense to me
and I'm feeling in my definition of balance. Then I'm
good to go. Yes, yes, And when we know when
we're off balanced, this is you bring balance to the world,
one household at a time, which I love your saying.

(13:27):
We know that when we're not in balance, then the
next step, moving forward, that action implementation step.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Is is going to be really tough. It's going to
be tough to put into motion, to implement to get
gain momentum. So be positive, love yourself, own your power,
organize your life and then move forward.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
And forward is moved forward. Everybody move forward, That's right.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
So it's uh so it helps anyone in transition to
really then gains their center and start blooming, start blooming
and not withering. Start because there's no such thing as
staying on a plateau. Did you know that, Kim?

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Oh, Yeah, that's correct, there's no such thing.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
We like to maintain the status quo. But I did
a talk and it is out there on my YouTube
and it's called the Uncomfortable comfort zone. And we started
the comfort zone and then we want to journey into
something else that could be a great opportunity. It's our

(14:48):
growth zone. In between the comfort zone and the growth
zone is do you know what there is in between him?
Can you do between.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Growth and the comfort zone? Is us?

Speaker 2 (15:05):
It's our fear, it is it's our ego, it's our fear.
It's a fear zone. And what do we do when
we get into the thick that we often turn around
and retreat. So I'm my best example of that. I
started venturing into for goodness sakes. I had a podcast
before the word was even invented. It was called an

(15:27):
online radio show network twenty years ago, and I started
in this coaching world. Coaching wasn't so well known, right
right right, And so I started doing that and I
get like, what are you doing? Why don't you work
in a law firm? Why don't you do this? So

(15:49):
I let that chatter affect me and I went. I
created this whole bloom world events and a coaching practice.
I was getting going, and then I retreated and I
went to practice law. Wasn't a mistake, No, it was

(16:10):
my journey. I helped a lot of people. I helped
myself financial security in all but there was I always
made this vow since when I was divorced, I'm going
to help women bloom and when we know this is
our mission and we're not fulfilling our mission, then that

(16:31):
little voice can get really loud, and if we're listening
to it and we're tuning into our inner knowing, we're
going to then risk getting going back into the fear
zone and getting through it into the growth. So where

(16:52):
the magic happens.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Right, That's good. Now, everything that you said, especially being
in this coaching and training world for over twenty years,
a lot has changed with how women think when it
comes to balancing our work in life. You want to
talk from that perspective a little bit. What have you
noticed along your coaching journey over the twenty years.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Well, I noticed that people really are embracing holistic, spiritual
values with books out there, with social networking, with media,
with our information world. Right now, we are embracing really
wonderful values so that we can become wholes heal. And

(17:47):
notice what where we need to focus? Where we need
to create our balance in our life. And as you said,
I'm the co author of Sanity Savers Tips for Women
to Live. They balance life, and our life is not.
There's no such thing as creating perfect balance. Just like

(18:09):
there is no perfect human being, There is no perfect
mom out there, there is no perfect business or no
one has that it all figured out and that's okay.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Well, yeah, let me add beg too different. In this
picture you look like you're figuring something out over there.
I was like, I love this picture. You're like you
have mastered it right there.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Well, I've been on a journey I have. Like I said,
I had to learn all about this whole spiritual thing.
Now it's I'm getting a divorce around, you know, two
thousand and two thousand and two. So I'm now going
to bed with stacks of books and learning and self

(18:53):
teaching myself what the heck is going on and what
I can learn and myself in that, starting to work
with people, and then being on a whole journey with
my children, with my work, with my colleagues, with everyone,
and everything I've done with all the women I've worked

(19:15):
with in all sorts of transitions, and what I've I've
landed on and really honed on is women creating their
own businesses and or being stuck in something for a
very long time and saying, look, I'm smart, I've got
a good this or a good program or a good

(19:38):
process or whatever. Why isn't it happening for me? I Mean,
the question, Kim is not why, it's how can I
grow from this? So if you feel like you're not
feeling balanced, if you're feeling in the swirl, like I

(19:58):
call it in the swirl, and things aren't there isn't
that forward momentum, then let's take a deeper dive into
that and seeing what is the growth opportunity here? How
can you grow for this? And many times it's something
I'm not the root of the root of it, as

(20:19):
I said, it's value. Some people can't articulate what they
bring to the table and their value. They're not owning
it entirely. They're not leading with their authenticity. They're doing
they're doing the shiny object whatever they should be doing.
The should of the shouldn't right. They're running on distorted stories, Kim.

(20:44):
They're running on their aren't if I'm doing this. There's
just not enough clients out there. And I'm like, do
you hear yourself? That is a distorted story? Or I
can't make money at this? And then I say right,
And then I say, okay, let's think of that. How
many people I work with a lot of women, So

(21:06):
I'll go how many women really could use your help
right now? You know, like in the United States. Let's
just say a million, right, Okay, one dollar? You know so,
and I don't like to necessarily think from the monetary value,
but if.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
We're it's necessary.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
It's a holistic approach, right. Well, that's part of it
because money is that valuable energy that that is the
exchange here. So we really have to know our value
and it takes and it's a process. So yeah, we
we have to start really working with it. And I

(21:49):
know for my own process it takes step by step
by step.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
I love I love that because when when you just
put it as plain as one dollar for one million
women and business owners that are out there looking business
people clients that are looking for your services, that puts
it in layman terms that anybody can succeed if given
the right tool in the right vehicle. And so your

(22:17):
business Bloom Business Incubator actually helps women further identify with
their purpose driven business is really designed to accomplish. So
what are some of the elements in that purpose driven
business philosophy that you have for your Bloom Business Incubator.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Well, it's to answer the questions who who am I
of service to? Because the higher purpose here, Kim, is
not what it is to do a job and to
do work and have a career and all of that
those terms that we recognize. But the higher level is

(22:58):
where is my service? And then how can I match
my skills, my experience, whatever's going to to my higher service. Now,
some women come to me and don't understand what their
purposeful mission is or what path they should be in
A lot completely know, and they are in that stuck

(23:22):
position or and they're getting frustrated, and they're getting like,
why isn't this happening for me? And I have all
the credentials? Do I need more? And the first thing
I say, probably, Well, learning is always a fabulous thing.
But do I need more to be more? Probably not?

(23:44):
Do you most likely have what you need? And let's
look into what is what is that big boulder in
your past? What's going on? Is it again? I go
back to is it one of the four? Is it
a distorted story? Is it some sort of negative self talk?

(24:07):
Is it a blame shame kind of should should in
the situation? You know? And and and what is the
fourth one? I'm blanking just just all of that. It's
just the fear. Basically, it's the fourth one is just
is fear over writing you so you are not getting

(24:30):
into your growth mindset.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Okay, I'm actually typing some of what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Limited beliefs, the fear, the limited belief There aren't enough
clients out there for me. There there, my my my
program isn't good. I I just I'm not a good speaker.
What are some of the other ones I here? I

(24:57):
just I just don't know, you know, the I don't
think I can make money at this. Just a lot
of things. I there's two reasons also why people get
tripped up, and two and two reasons have to be

(25:17):
in their outer world of First of all, they may
be in a job and if it's sort of if
it's a transition, if they aren't fully into their entrepreneurial
or solo work that many women are, and they're understand
they want to understand how to increase that or better

(25:40):
that or not stay stuck. Right, But but the the
other ones are are not even they're they're trying to
figure it all out. They're trying to figure it all out.
And it's a step by step process, it just is.
And not to be bogged down by all these limited,

(26:02):
limited beliefs that we put in our past. So I said,
the two one is relationship. What will my spouse think
of this? What will my mother think of this? What
will the kids? Will my friends think? What will my colleagues? What?
You know, I'm and we wear a label, I'm an attorney,

(26:23):
I'm i'm, i'm, I've been in this, now I'm doing this.
Will they? You know? Will they? We're dealing with imposter syndrome,
so we're dealing with our roles and our relationships and
how they can limit us. Another one is also the

(26:44):
as I said, we haven't transitioned from the job. We
may not want to transition for the job, but our
limited belief says I derived my income from this one source,
and that's the limited beliefs That's right. This is the
mindset shift that know your income can be derived from

(27:08):
multiple sources and if you wanted to shift to another source,
it's doable. It takes steps in stages. Yes, youre, but
they stay limited and this is the only way I
can make income. And this is where we stay in

(27:29):
that fixed mindset.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Wow, okay, listen, Yeah, we are talking with Barb Scala
and if you have not noticed already, she is going

I would love for you to just say any piece
of advice that you would give a woman entrepreneur that's

(28:18):
about to start her journey before she even takes the
first step. She's watching today's show. What piece of advice
would you give her? I know the who, so I'm
sure that's the part of it, But any advice you
would give her. Right after this commercial break, we'll be

(30:33):
that you go ahead and register for the May seventh

so tell us that piece of advice, Barb, if you
will for women.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
Entrepreneurs, Okay, how they can they're not sure why, They're.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Just getting ready to start their entrepreneurial journey, and you
don't even want them to get stuck. So this is
what they're gonna do to possibly avoid being stuck in
sea if possible.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Okay, I don't want to sound like a broken record, Kim,
but we have to do that mindset shift. We have
to understand that there's a growth mindset. We have to
really get rutish in my bloom language here in the
love of yourself and love what you do area. Most

(31:23):
of a lot of people are struggling with they're not
sure if this is the right step for them, And
so if they're thinking of an entrepreneurial venture, I can
already say that not everybody's wired that way, and it's
coming to you for a reason, and it's not necessarily

(31:43):
coming to the next person. They don't even want to
go there. So I'm already saying you're on the right path.
What are you going to do on that path? I
think that's where people like, how can I get started?
That's big question, right, how can I get started? I
say that a good a good way is to really
understand and validate your core essence. So we talk about

(32:09):
values right, to really understand your core values. There's tons
of tests out there, and you'll come up with three
to five, no more than five. Understand your five core values,
and that's what you're going to put into your entro.
Somehow weave into your purpose driven mission and then things

(32:36):
that are very helpful, uh and I do in that
seed for success love. What you do is you can
take the Meyers Brigs personalities tests, you can do the Eneagram,
you can do a strengths test. That's all really just
great resources and some great information, and that is already

(32:58):
believe it or not, with in you it's just it's
a great validation and you might have some AHAs from that.
And when you do a strength test, deep down inside
you already know your strengths, but it will validate and say, yeah,
that's that's that's where you're really strong at. And it
usually helps people to really own their power and to

(33:24):
really feel strong about that and to go on with
the work. But where to start? How do I begin?
What do I do? I don't know if this is right.
These are all the the beginning of the journey questions
that I hear. Know that those questions where we started

(33:47):
to say in the segment before the who, why, when,
where and what? Are all the questions. So we go
through my program is we go through the seeds of
success and all those key elements to help you with
whatever transition you're on the entrepreneurial path, you're stature in
a squirrel or you're just beginning. And then the next

(34:10):
the next section is the clarity section. We need clarity, Kim.
We need clarity on the why, your why, the what,
the who, the where and the when. So I took
a poll on the women going through my Bloom Business
incubator and I said, as you engineer down to a

(34:32):
couple of words or one word, what would it be?
Unanimously they agreed that the number one thing they got
in there was clarity. Clarity is priceless.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Yes, it is priceless.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
So they started they start pretty quickly answering there, why, when,
what and where and when should I start and all that,
And then we get into that those businesses building nuts
and bolts right the niche, the messaging, the the our
ideal client, our avatar and and everything like that. So

(35:06):
we can really really start putting a lot of structure
to this, and then we really elevate our and leverage
our expertise or experience into that thought leader role. So
not only are you doing an entrepreneurial venture now these
are service ventures, but you're also becoming you're stepping into

(35:27):
a leadership role, a leadership role like you have Kim
in the balance area right in the balance doctor. You
are a thought leader and so what And people will
say me and I'll leave and see them almost grab
their throat like their throat chakra, and I'm going to
talk about this and I'm going to go out there

(35:49):
in social networking and identy, Yes, this is a scary thing.
But this is where we come to start really owning
our power and our next steps and getting on our
entrepreneurial path.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Wow, okay, this is good. Okay. Now, actually I was
looking over at your website because I'm a big visual person,
so I wanted to share your website and let people
know when you do visit with Barb, this is what
you can.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
But I tell you to put up as many more testimonials.
I'm working on that.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
I oh, well, you know what all I know is
I didn't even go down to the testimony. Yeah, sage,
Yeah you Actually I enjoyed and was drawn into this,
just mesmerized with how comfortable and calming I feel when
I went to your website. So it's your time to bloom.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
And I don't know whether it's going on my face
on your screen, but okay, gotta tell my web person
put me a little above me. But yeah, it is
your time to bloom. Right, if you've been thinking about it,
then it's your time. It's your time to get started, Kim,
because it's not now. That's right, You're going to be

(37:02):
a good time, Kim. You thought at this stage you'd
make a bigger impact, but you're not so, yeah, you're
keeping that swirl.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
That's what I was gonna say. There you have it.
If you keep swirling in circles and things don't change
and you don't know where to start or how to
move forward, you feel overwhelmed and not confident about your
next steps, or you're hesitant about moving on to your
next chapter. You want to connect with Barb bloom with
Barb dot com. You should be making a consultation, appointment,

(37:35):
or whatever it takes. There's a button there that says,
let's chat. There's a way for you to get unstuck
by connecting with BARB.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Yeah, you you press any of the red Let's chat
a complimentary content. I give everyone a complimentary when I
call it clarity session or call, or if that scary,
I'm going to call it a coffee chat. Whatever you
want a chat. You want to dig deep and dive

(38:02):
right into an issue, We'll do any any and all
of that in a complimentary call with me. So I
invite you. It's free, you might as well. Yes, you
might as well do it out there anyone. I'm so
happy to invite you in and let's start seeing how

(38:26):
you can start to bloom. Because you want to bring
balance to one household at a time. Kim, I want
to help women bloom in any way I have and
I certainly have done it many ways in my bloom Builder,
you know, pro bono, helping a person that I meet,
you know, literally at a at a coffee shop or

(38:48):
whatever it is. This is my mission. And you know,
on my podcast or we called it the online radio
show a long time ago, I interviewed Nancy. I believe
Nancy Anderson. I may have that wrong. I may have
her name wrong. I work with passion, and I do

(39:12):
say it's not only about passion, but she coined the
phrase in the eighties. And but one thing I do
remember is what would you do what really makes it
a passion project? And she You're going to do it,
even if you do it for free. Now, I don't

(39:35):
advocate doing it for free, and a lot of people
are giving it away and not owning their value. But
if we're finding ourselves, like if we can help people
where we meet them on the road or at the
coffee shop or anything, but we also have a thriving

(39:55):
business doing this, isn't that a win win win, Kim?

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Is yeah, So there you.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Go, well and it is Nancy Anderson.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Nancy Okay, Nancy was a great guest and she yeah,
and she really I believe she coined the phrase. And
this was in the eighties. This was kind of.

Speaker 4 (40:15):
A a radical kind of a suggestion because we were
all in the mainstream and now we know we can
love what we do.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Do we love everything we do? Now, do you know
we love doing some of the the administrative work or
some of the transactional work. I always say, when I'm
helping people go through my business bloom business Incubator, is
I'm helping them transform from that transactional hourly let's say,

(40:52):
or trading dollars for your value. There's nancation.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
I found that pick your back there, why you were talking.
I said, I think this is referring to and.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
Or making that shift to transformational work in your higher service.
That's a win win win. And so I thought my passion, well,
I know one of my passions is cooking and food
and organic gardening.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
I saw that your food block.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Yeah, and I had a food block and all. And
then people can say, but that's not happening for me
or that because that wasn't my purpose. That was something
I love to do. But I realized pretty quickly that
that wasn't my purpose, drive admission. I had already said it,

(41:45):
and then I went with the next shiny object. Okay,
why why did I do that? Why did I retreat
for my bloom world? And then did a food block?
I worked in nonprofits for a short time, and then
I started my law firm. It's because of fear. I
wouldn't I couldn't get through my fear zone. But my

(42:08):
true mission is my true sharing, my true hire service
is to help women bloom. And I knew it twenty
years ago.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
That's good. Twenty years ago, you knew it, and now
it's coming to almost like a climax in your life,
and it's coming to a hey it if that makes sense.
So what questions do you all in the studio audience
have for our guests today? Please make sure you pop
them over we'll do a flash round. I do want
to ask you to how important is it for self

(42:42):
care for entrepreneurs because I see that you wear a
lot of different hats and you're balancing them very effectively.
But self care, I'm sure plays a key role in
that too.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Self care is all a part of loving yourself absolutely.
If we are working these tremendous hours and don't feel balanced,
and we're doing our entrepreneurial venture and we feel strung out, stressed, out, overwhelmed, undervalued,
whatever it is, whatever it is that is stressed, stressing

(43:16):
the situation and taking us off our balance, we need
to take care of that. That's why I'm not the
business coach out there saying, well, you're going to make
so many figures seven figures? Do I want you to
make a lot of money, Absolutely, because you are worth it.

(43:37):
But I also know that's why I say go to
your core values, Kim, because if you value your wellness,
which everyone who works with me is, you know, that's
why they're attracted to working with me. Because I'm working
with a holistic approach. I care about my own wellness

(44:00):
and my own physical, spiritual, and mental health. And if
I'm not having that, if my entrepreneur entrepreneurial world is
really putting me into sixty seventy hour, seven day, six
day work weeks, that's not really helping with my wellness,

(44:22):
is not at all. Yeah, So we incorporate mindfulness in
there and a lot of holistic resources and principles so
you can feel like, Remember, you can live life on
your terms. Let life not control you. You control your life.
Can I tell you a little story.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
You can tell me a whole big story?

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Yes, all right, So this is what I'm So. It
was the pandemic, and I'm in my law firm. I
hadn't gone back to coaching, and the exodus. I'm in Connecticut.
The exodus is coming out of New York and people
are buying places and and I'm trying to keep up
as in my real estate practices, and I'm going nuts

(45:07):
in the middle of all this. Unfortunately, my big brother
passed away and I had to take over his business
and run it for almost a year. In addition to
my law practice, I was working six to seven days
a week. I was in well, I let's say I

(45:28):
left the house at eight, I wouldn't say I was
in the office. I'm not. I'm going to stretch that one.
Not in an eight because I had like an hour commute. So,
but I was leaving at a for sure at least
five to six days a week, and I was I

(45:49):
was not this is no way to live. Sure was
my bank account. My bank account was doing very well,
but I wasn't right, And my dad looked at me
and he said, you can't keep this up. You're stressed out.
So what's the point of all that, right? So, yeah,

(46:10):
it's not living life on your own terms because life
was controlling me at that time. I wasn't controlling my
life at all.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
I'm sorry to hear that about your brother too. And
but the thing I think I value or appreciate is
the fact that you were willing to step in and
intervene and make sure that his business didn't just suffer.
So that's an avagate thing to do.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
I did. I was the only one, you know, able
to do that because I did run my solo business
and I can. I could run it at the same time.
And I brought in resources and I did as much
as I could to bring in somebody who could assist me,
you know, outsourced work, different different things like that. So

(46:52):
there's a way to do that, and that's what I
incorporated in my Big Bloom Incubator. Okay, if we are
working a full time job and starting something or trying
to build something on the side, been there, done that,
and there's a way to really work efficiently. That's right,

(47:16):
really work efficiently so that we can still keep our
wellness in check.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Wow, and what's your brother's name?

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Oh? His name was Keith y Keith.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
Okay, well, we just we want to honor Keith, and
everybody keep the Scholar family in your prayers, because anytime
you have a loved one that transitions from this earth,
no matter how much time has passed, it is still
leaves an indelible mark because and then you're still obviously

(47:51):
talking about him in your story in a one hour
block of time that you have your honoring and celebrating
your your brother's right.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
You know what, I even feel that I hear him say,
like you got to kick in the pants bar with
doing and going. So so I was asking this lf,
why is this happening to me? But look at the opportunity.
What was the what can I grow from? I said,

(48:19):
you know what, Keith really wants me to get to
the work. Ah, there he is. He was. He was
brilliant in anything. He wrote for Space journals, He went
to Rocket Launches, he knew him at NASA and he
you know what, his private library do you have tears

(48:42):
of sadness of joy?

Speaker 4 (48:46):
Joy?

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Keith's private book library was just donated to I don't
know if it's a new library. I'm not going to
say say this correctly, but a cape to the al
it's now going to be part of the permanent collection
on all space related books. They are his private It

(49:09):
actually couldn't be the largest private collection in the United States.
We can't prove that. But yeah, and just book of
world records.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
By the time it's all said and done, you know.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
His legacy is going on. And he really from that experience, Aha,
I get it. I needed to be shaken up so
that I could get back on my path because I
had ditched my path. And that's I want everyone to
learn that you don't have to do that. You don't
have to just let those limited beliefs take you over.

(49:42):
So do not what I did. And I just ditched
Bloom one day and just went on to say this
isn't going to work for me.

Speaker 4 (49:54):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
And it's clearly I've come for a full circle to it.
And like I said, there could there be a million
women out there right now who or and men or
anyone who could benefit from my hire level of service.
I truly believe there is, and a lot a lot

(50:16):
of people are dealing with different situations they have some
great ideas or they started some great stuff, and they
can help heal people with their mission driven programs and missions,
and that they can help so many people. I want
to help these people help other people.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Ah. I can feel it like just permeating through your pores,
even virtually. I haven't met you face the physically in person,
but I feel like I've known you my whole life.
And so that's the feeling that you will get when
you're dealing with barp In any program that she's offering.
So I'm going to put this book back up again
because I want people to know how can they get

(50:59):
a copy of Santa Savers? So people know where to
go to get it.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
It's for women to live a balance life. Just go
online and get it.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
You can get it right at her website at bloomwibar
dot com. I see it right there on the website
as well. You can also get it an Amazon. But
if you just get it any kind of way get it.
So I don't know if they would be getting an
autograph cop copy if they received it from you directly,
or how does that work for If that's.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
What's well, if they want an autograph copy, just email me,
I'll get some one for sure. Yes, on my website.
I believe I do have the link to purchase it
and so go to bloom with Barb dot com. That's
the easiest way. Okay, Okay, email me. I love to

(51:44):
autograph it. No worries about that. Now.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
I saw this picture and it just speaks volumes to me.
Tell me about that picture. Please.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
Oh that's my daughter.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Okay, love that picture because to me, that's the hitting
me of in life. Life has so many different twists
and turns. But if you can just take some moments
and be in that moment with a loved one like
this picture shows, it means the world.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
So yeah, and that was you know, we're on the
gondolas in Venice. We took a trip. I met her,
she was studying abroad, and I said, come on, And
you know what, Kim, It wasn't like I could I
even had a big budget for that. I did it
and we made it work. We totally and we had
such a great time. And now I have a grandchild

(52:35):
from this daughter and it's just amazing. So definitely, whenever
we relationshipeople people people first, absolutely embrace your loved ones.
Embrace them because life changes in so many directions, and
if we can take the moments, that is all part

(52:56):
of wellness. You know, they say when women come in community,
you know, our girlfriends or to have those really important
relations that is a big piece of our wellness wellness plan,
so to speak. And if we don't have those connections,
our happiness goes down. A lot of a lot of
things go out of balance. So I absolutely take the

(53:20):
time out to do anything with your loved ones.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
That's good. Now, you know, I do have to ask
because I genuinely don't know you that well one yet,
so I want to know are you Are you married single?

Speaker 2 (53:32):
I'm not married, No, but you know, hey, hey, you
never know when that could happen. Uh. There are certainly
special people have been in my life are in my life.
My children, my my granddaughter she's gotta be one soon.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
And of the granddaughter and that's fine, keep her private,
bet that's.

Speaker 2 (53:59):
Okay, my mom, who's so there's a lot to be
grateful for. Absolutely, And look in relationship, whoever we're in
a relationship, we can really grow. Uh that's a whole
other topic. I can if I wanted to do Bloom
for relationships, which in my future, absolutely, because I got

(54:23):
a whole thing on that. But relationships help help us grow, Kim.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
I'm a believer in the Amago method and everything I've
studied that and this is how we can really work
things out and heal excellent.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
Now I'm not again, this is not a dating show
by any stretch. But I do no beauty when I
see it, and I know beauty from the inside most
importantly inside out. And so who knows someone may be watching.
Some great things have happened from people tuning into The
Kim Jacob Show, and some of the biggest kind tracks
and business opportunities have happen. So who's to say that
