(00:07):
Hey guys, and welcome to theLaw Amber. Every other Monday, we'll
discuss the controversial with the mixture ofyou and let us the law sho me
on yallow face look at the LawAmber as well as Instagram hand member what

(00:29):
do y'allll? What was another otherside of the law Hambler. It's ready
to give you all brown some billsus about what was on what the will
was a white and to talk aboutyou know, overall policy legislationships like what's
happened in not just in the seasonbut in the south of the places and

(00:53):
all these different different there's a lot, a lot. So before we getting
started, I want to say thisepisode is sponsored by my mind are your
brandy who guy got me with thecool podcast that it was really level up
my podcast episode. So shout outto sorry one real quick week. So

(01:15):
last episode bund the sixty bills.I wanted to give you all other of
them. So siation has been movingthrough the comedy and past of comedee now
making and it's being heard her andjudiciary not anytime since soon maybe a few
weeks or so. They have alegenda, uh which we speak to the

(01:41):
lot of my bills that anglish's reallyinsane, like like thousands of the bills
were the sad Session but early importantbill S twenty five seconds and two which
was the rerums. So we passedMemphis it's coming this week week and so
and other organizers folks car service Memphis. Really we really let the charge past

(02:07):
have been doing a lot of organizingaround that, specifically really making people know
exactly what was in the bill andhow it would apply policially as business,
but also pushing back against this routinetrash stop that senator saying that you know

(02:27):
people can't get routine trash spot sothat's the pass which we know we do
true. And then the less inthe house as far as I say,
police laders can you can't pull someoneover for for feeding, which is right
by that they can't put someone overfrom not where I wear, which we
all saw that and I called thatout out. I made the video compilation

(02:49):
with his videos on line and knowthat these representative are so desperate spate to
pass the bill. They have tolie. That's the only way way because
people as did the first day theywas for her sending it. Last week,
folks show up pack pack community,They pushed it out the other week,

(03:09):
so now it's come up, comeon this week week, also show
up packed the community, and we'rehoping that it gets he heard. If
not, then gets to push offto another week and we'll show again.
I think tasty believe we just dida council meetings where they will just push
off the meeting and award. Butpeople are not allow that, like they're

(03:32):
consistent and continue to show up.And I think it's also just the citizen
intendent of people power, like likewe're child govern moments coming in and trying
to over overall local and that's whathas happening here. It's actually a history
and mements of that happening. Oneof the main mains why we don't have
realize marijuana is because they passed alow state. Why that made the way

(03:58):
we weren't able to do that solow locally clearly because they branded it.
The same reason why we can't havea certain policetice like now, it's because
of the state the past. Sothat has has a lot where the super
ma Georgia past has these views thataffects the hotel state. As a way

(04:20):
to push back backs, Memphis fromthis wants to do business. And I
think that it gets caught out,but it really out that work because the
way that they pushed for that reallyor is the home rule that we have
business Actually West that has home otheris the entire other of the state.

(04:45):
East in the cit none of themin Middle c The city has only only
Mephics and Western and then these smallercities in the east is a cz And
I think it's interesting that they arealways pushing back that way that effect,
are you home rule the affect thatthings that we can pass, just always
trying to make sure that mephis affectand the sisters Taylor is using these like

(05:13):
like dog also tropes of I'm tryingto make Memphis mad at her and people
can't go outside like people are prisonsin their own house because of the crime
is so high hot, which isnot true true like one thing about Memphis
niggas, we don't go outside side. That's that's an extreme lit. I
mean the dogs. He's white whitepeople, but they're not scaredy either.

(05:36):
They be outsidside like he's just fullof ship. He pushed his my marine
rhetoric because he knows that it worksaround white white but one interesting thing that
I'm saying is that it's not workingon some of these servative Republicans and little
Terranians because they feel like he isOVERSTI stepping, like like he's using them

(05:59):
somehow hour to old boat that stepand they don't like life like that.
And I think the his his himto like making where black like people aren't
able to get bail, we areable to pass form different things like that.
He's also affecting the entire state citybecause he's so self making a lot

(06:21):
of black black hard. He didn'teven think about how white white there like
because he's white whey. But butso that bill is going to be her
hurting in it. The next billthat he was really hard. It's a
bill that may make it all tobe black like a roadway highway or ridge

(06:46):
the mimeanor so it's currently a misterand he wants to make it a yellowley.
And the main artist is that thespeak black black bridge and we have
to have something about one. Youdon't understand why one. And because of

(07:08):
that also written a letter of theTBI about investigating situation and why no child,
no charge has been a bio. He's he's the tweeting video about as
why why prosecuted charge magets before thereis and just you know know, being

(07:30):
really music about the graduationation on thebridge and that's not rested like like this
before real. But instead of Ithink that the protests have happened. You
know, no one was home, they got off the bread bridge and tracked
the head. He wants to makeyou to go to j jail. And
a part of that it is pasthas his billings making a film, and

(07:54):
I, of course I don't agree. I also think that it really pushed
his back against people's first the rightrights and that we have a right right
you know to protestss and what thatlooks like can be many different things.
But when you make it all thatmake it yell where I can use a

(08:15):
little motors we're doing doing particular thingthings you know what you're doing like of
course, of course it's a theturturnment, but but also I will say
this is not not stop popable fromtaktail the streets, take tail ridge.
That's not gonna have happened. It'sjust people risk getting getting and so we
don't pushing much harder against that aswell, trying to make sure that people

(08:41):
understand that your constitutional right rights areprotected, and this type of levelization put
jet dagon that's not okay. Anotherdeal that I was really concerned about was
h E. Seventeen eighteen, whichis a bell which they say that if
someone is giving with conditions, requiredcondition will be that they have to have

(09:07):
electronic mind. Now, one ofthe reasons why gets just said electric trying
is the contriversation. So it's justby name and to me and to many
others too, lots of folks feelthat way away. And secondly, it's
extensensive. And one of the thingsabout these represents about out other day that

(09:30):
because they want to time, theydon't care about any of the even though
they've been to coal or some ofthem don't have structure, they don't they
can't care because an election and they'retrying trying to live for that situations.
Look, I pushed all these things. Some of it didn't pass, but
I wrote it and I appreciated itwas trying to make it have happened.

(09:54):
And so part of that is thisbill without electronic monitors electric tring. Tring
is not free free and there's nostag that covers it. So usually folks
have to pay between one hundred fiftyyour dollars by a wee weekly or monthly
and again the pay payment and adapttwo hundred dollars dollars and in the person

(10:18):
is responsibility paying not the stay. Not only that you're not told to me
more money up front front. Sosomeone in jail the baby told like,
hey, positions, this office isto get monitoring. They're not told at
that time time that they had topay for it. So then they go
to the business and it's put areal risk and putting put them into either

(10:43):
I pay this money because most pay, or I go back to jail.
So then they had got away topay this month money or everyone jail and
even the state House, the lawyersthey house on the physical note rote four

(11:03):
million dollars because there is a whiskand two there's noa that this will forbid
anything. And the way they said, there's no way to track that this
was equal easy, successible or healthin any way way. But Representative joh

(11:24):
John because you know what what, that's what's what and he's gonna make it
make sure that everything every time.So soil BETWETA moving throughout the house and
in it, which with the onethat that sad or passed because was kill
killed st It was a direct responseto what's one happening in this supposed to

(11:48):
be utilized harmed even held like duringthe trastic start, family has sat out
of statement and saying like, hey, this is not not cool. Not
only is that a k the Senatehas resolutionship on our life and every committee

(12:09):
or then they love their community, which is where where this bill is going
to be heard tomorrow. Signed thatresolution all sponsored they signed on his life
life and specifically something I think thatit was very interesting in the when I
was reading that is that they talkedabout this vibe like he had this amazing

(12:31):
person, he will have passions, and I just think about how they are.
There are key people who could possiblydie in a similar ways who also
had who also hash and childreldren andparents who love them and were very well
well in the community who could diebecause these reforms back and the police are

(12:52):
allowing, which is how Hi killed. Not only that the police actually having
really without I know that because actuallyhis brother was pulled over for protest and
he was totally want over over becausehis temporary tag was on the wrong side

(13:16):
of the window though, I justwant to that is the key example of
police because there is no law. What side your temporary tag has had That
law does not this. They werejob doing him for job driving on blood
black. That's that's that's it.We're being unhonest. So we know offers

(13:37):
still have happening. Not only hashis out of statement, but like my
Tom, who is the person who'swho bossor the legislation a quotote about that
pushing back as well, and I'mhoping to get get see more statements come
out other cities leaders. I reallylike to see one from the chairchair Chairman

(13:58):
j Junior here the car chair amendment, because he's talked a lot and these
reforms and being about how they hadhappened and mayor he champions in the worms
when he was running for offices.Come here here he said, we're going
to be a public ordinary. Ithink it's important to listen to the people
of the Memphis, and I thinkyou really listening to the people of Memphis.

(14:20):
Then you put out of saying youpush that he's Brent Taylor obviously not
listening people business, because if hewas, he wouldn't looka did and not
not only is the ms, butit's that they could can remove other other
like like practices and paulic change thepolice in place, because it also says

(14:43):
that a police official like like shecannot putt change the places either, and
then they're really good changes. Butin place, it's all about others environments
in the middle Tennessee who may changewhere they saw it was weeding because folks
are about policy correct or it needsto be harsher guys around things, and

(15:07):
so really really raw form risks makemakingwear. People aren't able to put anything
to make make leagal bettertter and moreeffectated. And I think that that's really
really dangerous. So I hope tosee you know, the mayor putting out
something talking about how important it isto stay in with me fetings push this

(15:31):
hundreds thousands of people who call.I mean in one one we said eight
or about these So it's important tostaying with those key people when when you
know that said risk of being takenaway way. Some of the other treads
that I'm seeing are around bails notnot able to build folks. So there's

(15:56):
a bill to make it your welcomescannot be used to build out out individual
family members or churches. There's avery similar meal like this is George Georgia
that about black past, but it'sway hard. So I think it's hard
as Georgia Bill. But I alsothink it's messed up because there aren't even
livening bill in Tennessee d like thatgive every one out every dayDay and there's

(16:22):
a hard heart ones on the streetstreets, and that's just just true.
There's only only two bell gunsons andit's one Nashville, two National Field.
I don't know any any in thesecities, so you know, I think
we're just seeing the same thing wherewhere these Apex folks have written their deal

(16:45):
since it's over to everybody in thestage made harsh. Some folks have made
not as hard and have been areason why harsh bi and them trying to
trying to make folks getting folks outof jail. There is another bill that
I've seen and Billie for a lotlike I mean, in other states,

(17:11):
these different in it. And therewas the last year bill, and I'm
hoping that with this year more thanbecause it's not cool, you know,
like this is this is so calledhormonalization to the time it's just dumb and

(17:32):
it's not not a work sometimes evenas high as as they make it.
And they actually would listen to people, specifically listening to the youth and what
they want, then they would seelittle crowds for you. Because they continue
to ignore them them and just criminalizethem continuously. You don't see anything because

(17:55):
they don't don't even do Like Memphisdoesn't have these really cool they say for
kids together like his one one sportsmostly in north north south and don't have
the community centers are not close toeach other. There aren't a lot a
lot of them. And I justthink that when you create a spaces that

(18:18):
don't allow for creativity or recreation incommunity, and they explain about time you
knew exactly that you were you're doingand they have purposely turning these communities into
these light waste and then complain abouthow the youth are in those communities that
you you don't have healthcare kids, you don't have a grocery or anywhere where

(18:42):
in the community that offers shoes likethese very key things that making work folks
can think credically, and making workfolks have better decisions. They can make
it like those things mad atter andas to try to try to make the
connection for folks between foodle hearts andbehavior or leed poisoning and behavior. That's

(19:08):
also issue, miss And if y'allwant to wear a really great, great
detailed investigation about let lays missus, you should go to fifty dot com.
They have a hard artisle. Ihave childredren and menis have these huge percentages
of lead poisoning. And what's thecounty doing, what's the citizen doing is

(19:33):
not nothing but poisoning direct recoffects.People think the decisions that make it behavior
and so those really in a foodportlight with no transportation to better resources.
And so then we set up upthese community in this way, we buy
them of resources literally pool anything thatcould possibly make the community better a weight

(19:59):
way sting, and then we canbe playing when kids getting into the front
front, or we can be playingwhen they're ripping stations, or we can
playing because there's dragon. What doy'all expect me to do? You left
left no options? And I talkedabout a few weeks ago about how I
worked work playing and let playing, but no one wanted ham happening. Actual

(20:23):
responses that would work, and thosenos was like actually fun and then this
kids said that they won't want Imeant the mayor transition team for supporting community,
and we did surveys, we talkedabout you and the main things they
asked for were basic things like thatyou would think they were already have,

(20:45):
but of course they were down becauseof the way the way that we got
here on community like mental health, health, mental health. They wanted their
schools to not feel like there wereson students in the focus said the schools
felt like like not not because ofpolice officer schools, but also the way
look they felt like, think aboutwhat kind of MP has like a young

(21:11):
child psych They talked about about anybetter job opportunities because we have don't offer
jobs and benefits and what it whatit looked like like we were invest and
people coming here they had better jobincluded full time time, more than the
winter visits, not contemporary, theact, the extra recreation places because they

(21:36):
felt like the centers didn't really muchmore. They listen more than your unity
and they don't have to get tothem. I thought those were things that
you know folks have and I thinkthey're very dual, very season The mayors
our rendations and how how follows upon these things, and because because we

(21:57):
did the work, we went tothe Philipolice was talking about them and this
is what they said they want want. So back to the up dates all
day. I am bust but anxious, and I'm hoping that with the statement
that has come out, with morestatements that have got to come out,

(22:18):
we'll actually see see movements pushing Jackalready call emailing senators and y'all to call

the Lamber for sure getting out backback with updates and then I'm just like

(23:07):
