Travel, life and fun. Listeningto the Life as podcast present it by
Say What Radio, Welcome to anotherepisode of the Life Adventurous Podcast. I
kind of put a little bit theHolistic Life Podcast singing in here, but

(00:25):
welcome to the place where you canhang out, be yourself. We talk
about spirituality, travel, fun things, funky things, and everything in between.
So today's topic is actually inspired bythe nomad lifestyle that we're living,
and it's really a mindset topic aswell in a way, because what happens
is I get messages from people whoare intrigued by our lifestyle and they're interested

(00:50):
and they want to be a partof it, and they want to do
this in their own life, whichI think is really cool. And I
just want to share some of thethings that I see when I have these
conversations with people that could be holdingyou back in your life. And yes,
I am going to talk about nomadlifestyle and travel, but this literally
applies to any aspect of your lifeif you think of these situations and the

(01:12):
foundational aspects, because the words thatyou're saying are the underlying beliefs that you
have are likely what's holding you backfrom moving forward from something that you really
really love. And so I reallyjust want to start off this episode by
asking a pretty simple yet profound question, and that is are you willing to

(01:34):
be more open minded? Are youwilling to let down your guard to allow
the wisdom and the experience to comethrough that will guide you to where you
want to go. Now, aswe get into this, I'm going to
give a couple of scenarios. Andif you happen to be listening to this

(01:56):
podcast and you recognize one of thesescenarios as yours, I'm sharing this in
no way from a judgmental standpoint.I'm not picking on you. I'm sharing
these these examples because not only haveyou said these things in conversations with me,
lots of others have to You're notalone and have said it in other
aspects of life too. So thefirst thing that I want to share is

(02:22):
this is usually how it goes. You know, someone goes, oh my
god, I'm so excited. Ilove your lifestyle. Oh I've always wanted
to do this. It's a dreamof mine. Oh my gosh, I
love it so much. It's adream of mine. How do you do
it? Okay, Well, obviouslythere's like I'm not teaching people how to
become nomads, like this is howyou van life, or this is how

(02:43):
you RV, or this is howyou quit your job and travel the world,
or this is how you remote workand travel. Like, I'm not
teaching people a specific system on howto nomad. And the main foundational reason
is that I don't believe that thereis one way to live your life,

(03:04):
one way to nomad, one wayto really do a lot of things in
life. Yes, there are waysthat work for people, and the ways
that work for people may not bethe ways that work for you. So
really just stepping back right thinking aboutthe foundational things. You know, someone
goes, you may admire someone,Oh my god, how'd you get a

(03:25):
millon dollar business? Oh my god, how'd you lose all that weight?
Oh my god, how are youtraveling? Oh? I want to do
that. I want that so bad. Okay, And like I said,
this happens all the time. AndI kind of went dramatic with that because
I feel like that happens a lot, especially with weight loss, Like,
oh, I want to lose weightso bad? Would you do? Would
you do? You look so good? And this actually happened with a couple

(03:46):
of our clients, you know, like when we were doing like the health
and mindset coaching before. It's funnybecause they would ask her, and you
know, she would tell them whatshe did and it was pretty simple,
and they'd be like, no,it's got to be a diet, it's
got to be something else. Sosometimes we're searching for answers that aren't there,

(04:06):
and sometimes we're missing the answers thatare right there, and sometimes we're
blocked off to not even receive them. So back into my nomad story,
had this message with somebody, andI decided just to ask a couple questions
back, like, cool, what'sholding you back from moving forward with a
nomad lifestyle? And they had shared, and this is common and typical.
They share that what's holding them backis money and you know, kind of

(04:30):
being afraid of being able to supportthemselves and feed themselves and take care of
themselves while on the road in thisvery different lifestyle. And so I continue
the conversation and then you know,I said, well, living a nomad
lifestyle, there's a lot of trustthat comes with the nomad lifestyle. There's
a lot of unknown and uncertainty that'sin this lifestyle and learning how to embrace

(04:57):
the uncertainty and not mean this suppliesto life, but not wanting to control
all the outcomes like you would orpotentially would in a vacation type of thing.
You're like, know where you're going, and you know where you're staying,
and you know what you're doing, and you know all the steps,
right, you've got it all plannedout. Well. In this lifestyle,
you could have it all planned out, but it's a lot more fun if

(05:17):
you just let it flow and befree. And yes, there are certain
things that are important to plan outto make sure that you have certain things
covered, because everybody has a differentrisk threshold, has a different different things
that they have in place that willhelp them feel safe and secure. And

(05:38):
I'm talking this is talking money, place to stay, I don't know,
whatever it is. Everybody's got differentlevels of what that looks like for them,
and so I'm not saying that thereis one way for any of that.
Okay, So we have this conversationand I'm sure I'm like, oh,
you really be flexible. You gotto be open. This is just
my experience. She's got to beopen and you've got to be willing to

(05:59):
kind of see where life takes you, you know, And she replied back
with, once again a very commonquestion, well how do you feed yourself?
Which is interesting because like the waythat this question is asked is always
different, like how do you feedyourself as a very specific question, versus
how do you make money? Howdo you make a living? How on

(06:21):
earth do you do this? Idon't know. There's a million there's a
million ways this question is asked.I'm not saying any are good, good,
or different or bad. So thenI respond and I say, we've
done this like a big portion aswe make money from our business, and
we've also a lot of it hasbeen supplemented the money in the business been
supplemented by savings and investments. Andher response was just straight up like okay,

(06:47):
well I'm not able to do that. Thanks. And I was sitting
there thinking like, wow, yousaid this was your dream. You said
this was your dream to live thislife town you wanted to know how I
lived it, And I feel like, because I'm not living it in the
way that you want to, like, you're like, okay, that won't

(07:09):
work for me. By well, one, I wasn't selling or anything,
and two I feel like open youopen your mind, like, how can
we open our minds? Even more? We hear away and we're like,
okay, I'm not willing to dothat, and we close off. Well
what if we were to open up? What if we were to open up
and be like, okay, well, how how can I make this work?

(07:30):
What could I do? How couldI make this happen? I feel
like a lot of times we talkourselves out of things because let's go to
the weight loss thing. How didyou get a six pack? And how
do you have this beautiful body forthese competitions or whatever it is that they're
doing, And you know, they'relike, okay, well I measured all
of my food and I boiled allmy chicken, and I did all my

(07:53):
macros and I you know, weighedeverything, and you know, and I
worked out two times a day.Like let's say that's what they told you,
and you're like, oh shit,I am willing to do that.
Well, you might not be willingto do it the way they did it,
but what if there was another way? Or is it time to shift
your goal? Because if that's whatit takes to get there, then okay,

(08:16):
you're not willing to do it andI'll shift your goal. But what
if there are other routes to getto the place that you want? And
I can tell you from the nomadlifestyle there are a lot of routes to
get there, especially if it's yourdream. Think about your dreams, Like
what are your dreams? And howare you blocking yourself from them? Because
your dream is a nomad And you'relike, okay, well van life won't

(08:37):
work for me, so now Ican't nomad? Well what about RV?
What about tents? What about workingalong the way? What about staying it
furnished places? What about I don'tknow, Like there are so many of
the hostels. I don't know. What if there's like so many different ways

(09:00):
you could do this, ways thatyou can make it happen. Okay,
you don't have a business, youdon't want to have a business. How
else could you do this? Youcould do it through remote work. You
could do it through finding jobs alongthe way as you go. You could
do it through starting something on theside and saving some money. Maybe you
just do this for six months orsomething and do your savings and go on
adventure and go do it. Imean, there's a lot of paths to

(09:22):
get there is my point. Thereare a lot of ways to get there.
Now, let me move into theother comment that I get quite frequently
for this, and that comment isusually something along the lines of I'm jealous
of your lifestyle and envious of yourlifestyle. I'm living vicariously through you.
Oh, I wish I could dowhat you were doing. That kind of
stuff, right, And once again, it's just this is just asking all

(09:46):
of us to be aware of thewords that we're saying and what we're saying,
because is it you're envious of mylifestyle or you wish you could do
what I was doing. Well,I believe and I will all always believe
this. I don't care. I'llgo a head to head with anybody on
this. Like you can. Youcan have this lifestyle. You can live

(10:07):
a nomad life. You can livea lifestyle full of freedom, fun,
and fulfillment, all the tag wordsthat are overused. You can live a
life by design, you can livelife on your terms. You can do
all of these things, period, end of story. I will forever,
forever stand tall on that, knowingthat every single person has the ability to

(10:30):
live the way that they want. Now, I will say that I am
very aware that we all have differentcircumstances. We have different upbringings, we
have different cultures, we have differentlots of different things. And so I'm
just gonna say this right now.I do understand and I'm aware that I
am white and I have certain privilegesin this world. I am not going

(10:50):
to sit here and like justify everysingle aspect of that, because I understand
there's about a thousand different scenarios thatI'm not going to be able to speak
in all of them. I'm justgoing to say that right here. But
what I can speak into is Ibelieve, deep down in my heart and
my soul that we are able tolive a life that we want on our

(11:11):
terms. I do believe that. And where I feel like things can be
adjusted is sometimes we want to livea life that we see others are living
that we find glamorous, exciting, freeing, whatever it is we see other
people living this life. And I'llgive an example, and I actually read
this in an article about a monthago. So here's an example. Tony

(11:35):
Robbins has a really high end mastermind. I don't know, it's like platinum
something, I don't know, reallyhigh end Mastermind. It's a big investment.
I mean you're talking about I don'tknow if it's a six figure,
if it's a high high high fivefigure investment, but it's a very big
investment to be a part of thePlatinum circle. And as part of that,
you're traveling all over. There's alot that you're doing, right,

(11:56):
And I read an article about someonewho went through that and was in his
high end Mastermind and they found throughthat experience that they thought that they wanted
I might be misquoting this, it'sthe general idea, but they thought that
they wanted like a multimillion dollar business, and they wanted to have multiple locations

(12:16):
and things like that, Like Iguess what they had always thought. And
they've seen other people who are inthe Platinum Circle doing and they really thought
they wanted that. But then theyrealized that that's not really what they want.
That's something that other people want andit was not aligned at all with
who they were. And they realizedthat what they actually did have in their
business was creating a freedom lifestyle thatwas serving them. Not only that,

(12:41):
but they found a way where theycould make more money and have more free
time, like amplifying what they currentlyhad versus trying to build something else.
So sometimes we have dreams and wehave things that we want that aren't even
ours, are aren't even meant forus. Yet we're continuing to push through
and push through and push through toget there, to make it happen.

(13:03):
And so let's come back to thenomad lifestyle. You may watch, Let's
say you watch on social media.I'm want to bring them in Like you
watch Karen Nate. Karen Nate havebeen traveling the world for like seven or
eight years, and they've traveled toover one hundred countries. They lived in
a van for a year, likethey do all these amazing things. They
do, all this outrageous stuff, and you're like, God, I really

(13:24):
want that lifestyle. I'm so jealous. I'm so am because I really want
that whatever it is you're saying, right and with ours, I want that
nomad lifestyle. Well, I feellike you may want aspects of what we
have, but really understanding like whatdo you want? Do you want the
freedom? How can you put ittogether in a way that works for you?
Because do you really want to liveit the way that I'm living or

(13:45):
the way that they're living I mean, I don't know their life, Karen
Nate. I don't know their life, but they make money from YouTube and
I'm sure other things, so theydo have certain requirements to make videos and
to record things. And I canonly imagine that that kind of even though
they're super fun and happy in alltheir videos, I can only imagine that
that wears on you a little bit. At some point you're like, I

(14:05):
can I just travel without having todocument it or whatever? You know,
I don't know. They have theirthings, just like with us, Like
maybe the fact that we've lived offof savings to supplement the business. That's
like too much for you And youcan't imagine. I don't know. Maybe
you really like your very well payingjob that you have, and you have
an executive job and you're making twohundred two or fifty thousand dollars a year,

(14:30):
and you're like, how on eartham I going to take this remote?
Like I'm not really into remote work. I don't I don't know if
I want to do a business,I don't know, Like you really have
to ask those questions. Is itbetter suited for you to maybe take a
break in between executive positions and takea year sabbatical and go nomad and then
go back into your executive job inlife. That could be an option,
that could be a way to nomad. Or let's say you want to do

(14:52):
something different altogether, and you're like, you know what, maybe there's a
way I can build a consulting businessand I can build something on the side
that it doesn't matter and I'm remote, Or maybe there's ways that I can
make sidehustle income, or maybe youknow what, I'm just gonna go way
different and instead of having these thingsas my securities, I'm gonna go this
way and have those things as mysecurities. I don't know, guys,

(15:13):
you literally can do anything and everything, anything and everything, but of course
we have our limits, both bypreference and our limits based on mindset and
belief. What is embedded in yourmindset and belief. And I kind of
went off on a tangent here becauseI realized that the point I was making

(15:35):
was the one about, you know, being envious about somebody, Like,
what's the point about being envious orjealous or wish you could do what they
do? Cool? Noted you're jealous, your envious, you wish you could
do what I do? Well, how about we start putting a plan in
place to get there? And Ifelt the same way when people are like,
you travel so much? How doyou travel so much? Because I
put in plan in place and Igo travel, Like, how can you

(15:56):
put a plan in place to incorporatethis lifestyle or aspects of this lifestyle into
your life? How can you putthis in place and do it in a
way that serves and honors you.Okay, maybe you don't want to go
off of savings and investments, cool, how can you do it in a
way that serves you? I mean, I could say it a million freaking

(16:18):
times. I get so fired upabout this. I think because my whole
life, I've had people because I'vejust I've lived some really amazing experiences in
my whole life, people have alwaysbeen like, you're so lucky or gosh,
like I wish I could do whatyou're doing, And I'm like everybody
can, like, but it's yourown choices. Like you say you want

(16:38):
to live it, but then you'renot willing to look at things a little
differently, or you're not willing toleave your job, you're not willing to
leave your house, or you're notwilling to try something different you're not willing
to I don't know. Whatever itis, whatever the things are, you're
not willing to do it. Ifeel like I I want to invite you
to just explore. Why aren't youwilling to do those things? Like?

(17:02):
What is it that is holding youback from that? Is it an actual
preference or is there some kind ofa fear. Is there some kind of
a fear like deep in there that'sholding you back, that has you saying
or feeling that you can't or it'snot a good fit. What's there?
And it's only for you to explore. I can't do the exploring for you.
So it's funny like for me wheneverI do these types of podcasts,

(17:26):
I just I feel like, oh, they say anything like was I too
harsh? Was it too much? And I share this because once again I'm
sharing that I'm just like you,the key and the keys to this process,
to you showing up, to youdoing your gift, for you being
you. I mean shit, Ijust had a conversation today with a wonderful
woman who was sharing that one ofthe biggest things is she's just not putting

(17:51):
herself out there. She doesn't eatshe's just not going big enough. Our
fears. It's the shit in ourhead that holds us back. Like I'm
sharing with you right now, likeit's going on in my head and oh
god, what am I talking about? Am I sitting here rambling? Am
I sharing something that doesn't even matter? Do they make care? Like all
of these thoughts that come in.How easy would it be for me to

(18:11):
take this recording I just did anddelete it. How easy would that be?
How easy would that be? AndI'll tell you that a couple of
the reasons why I don't do thatis because I trust in myself and I
believe in myself, and I'm leaningin man like, Yes, there are
still things that scare me. Absolutely, there are things that scare me thousand

(18:33):
percent thousand percent, and there arethings that hold me back three thousand percent.
I mean, I could just keepsaying. And where I'm at in
the journey is I just want tokeep showing up. I want to keep
showing up. I want to keepsharing. And another example of this,
it'll share is that since I've beensharing channeled messages and I've been posting them
on all the social media, soI've been posting them on Facebook, Instagram

(18:56):
and TikTok and YouTube, and I'mgonna start putting them on LinkedIn. Is
it's interesting you can post one messageright Like I posted a mess reel on
and I posted as a short onYouTube, and I posted that reel on
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, andYouTube. The real one Instagram is my

(19:18):
highest view drill at ten thousand views. I'm like, holy shit, and
it had like I had all kindsof new subscribers come in and our subscribers
followers and like the rest of myreels have like two hundred views or one
hundred views or fifty views, Idon't know, like like smaller numbers,
and this one had ten thousand views. That same reel on YouTube shorts,

(19:41):
I don't know how many views ithas. It doesn't have that many,
but you know the like dislike thing. That same reel on YouTube has like
five likes and four dislnks, whichcracks me up. And then that reel
on TikTok is like just trickling. It is just like trickling in nowhere near
ten thousand views. So it justshows you that you can have a message,

(20:06):
and it just depends on the platformand then timing and the words and
the SEO and I don't know allof these factors that can sometimes stress us
out when we're creating and if you'recreating, and this is really where I've
shifted into, if you're creating froma place to serve, from a place
to help, from a place tomake an impact. Like where I'm at

(20:30):
now, I'm sharing the stuff,I'm showing up, I'm doing the things
I'm leaning in. Sometimes things aregoing to flop. And it's interesting because
sometimes the things that we feel arethe worst or that are going to flop
or we feel like are not goingto work, are the things that end
up soaring for us. And yousay this because the podcast I do with

(20:52):
my husband, The Holistic Life, one of our episodes last year, I
think it was last year. Iwas just in a headspace and I was
really struggling with some things and Jaywas like coaching me. And I hated
that episode because I was like, nobody cares, why do they want to
hear me? Like I was embarrassed. I didn't want to go on out
there. I don't want people hearingme seeing me that way. And that

(21:14):
was one of our highest download episodes. Now. I think one of the
other reasons with it is that thetitle was, ah, I'm so pissed
off. Title was good because Iwas. I was so pissed, I
was so mad at that episode. So I share all this with you as
a model of possibility, as someonewho's hearing the trenches with you, who's

(21:36):
here going after their dreams, buildingtheir business, showing up, getting there,
having getting knocked around, having themindset things, having the things that
are stopping us. But the thingis is you're still listening to this,
which means I still uploaded it,allowed the podcast team to edit it and
post this live. Man man, let's go, let's freaking do this,

(21:56):
man like, I'm telling you.I'm telling you like, this is the
year, this is the time.Let's freaking go. Let's go. And
if you want to wrap it allback up, if you want to travel
and you want to know madman like, let's go and I will help you
figure out how to remove those blocksto get there and what's holding you back.

(22:17):
Reach out to me, let meknow, because I want you to
be enjoying the world too. Let'sfreaking go. I'm hyped, all right,
guys, see you on the nextepisode Bye, Hey, don't go
yet. If you're looking to continuethe conversation and to hang out with me
