Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Long for Truth podcast. I'm Robin Long.
Join my husband Dan and I as we explore the
roots of the early Pentecostal and Charismatic movements and we
shine a light on false doctrines and false teachers in
the modern church. Let's get started, and so.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
We get in and the first thing we started doing
is together as a group, we started walking to the Capital.
And as we're walking to the Capital, I just started
feeling the presence of God. And then I was shocked
that I was feeling the presence of God. And here's
how I describe it. Have you ever been in the
water and you're in kind of a colder water and
(00:40):
then all of a sudden, you feel like warm currents
coming in, not pools in the water. I just want
to clarify the analogy. And I just started feeling these
currents of the presence of God. And then all of
a sudden, I was aware of the Dutch eats, the
low ingalls, the Matt Lockett's, the upper rooms, the antiox
(01:07):
all of the prayer individuals that the individuals that love
the Lord, that have been welcoming the Holy Spirit into
the Capitol.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
I felt the prayers of the saints that there.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Is a shift that is happening in the spiritual realm.
What I saw and felt was that spiritually we have
to make sure we are not looking to natural authority
to answer kingdom answers.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
And what if?
Speaker 4 (01:35):
What if the Lord right now was actually releasing a
new authority to his church and sons and daughters to
lead in ways that kings in this.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Earth cannot grow?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
On average, if I was just getting an average, it
would be once every fourteen days I hear.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
The voice of God. So what would it look.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Like if we took that average that the believers would
to spend time with God every day hear him once
every fourteen days, then what would it look like for
the average Christian or the lukewarm Christian to finally hear God.
Put that graph up on the screen. I did the
math for you. So if the lukewarm Christian goes to
(02:17):
church twice a year and doesn't spend time with God daily,
then they hear from him zero times a year. If
the average Christian goes to church and doesn't spend time
with God just once a month, then that means they
hear him approximately zero times a year. And if you
daily encounter and spend time with God every day. You
(02:38):
can hear God easily twenty six times. If you heard
him once every fourteen days or more, Then I say, well,
what would this look like every ten years ten years?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
It gets worse.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Because it means the person that comes to church once
every two years or twice a year over the course
of ten years, may hear God one time in a decade.
And the person that goes once a month and doesn't
daily encounter might hear God nine times. But look at
the person that daily encounters. All of a sudden, it
just starts racking up. Then I said, what does this
look like over fifty years.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Or a lifetime.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
In a lifetime, that person that shows up to church
maybe twice a month, here's God maybe seven times, maybe
a handful of times in their life. Look at this
and the person that daily encounters you start rocking up
the thousands all the way. You you have this giant
testimony of what God said and what He did.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Look at this. Here's what I'm trying to tell you Church.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
The more you daily encounter, the more you hear God.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Hello everyone, welcome along for truth. My name is Daniel
Long and sitting next to me is my lovely wife Robin.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Hi, everyone, it's been a while since I've been sitting
next to you.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
It has been a while. It's probably been two months.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I think maybe.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
It's been a while.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, well it's nice to be back.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Well, like I've always said, I do not like doing
these videos by myself. I always would rather be sitting
next to Robin doing the videos. But today we're going
to be talking about a church called Mercy Culture. Now
about I don't know what has it been three weeks
or so a few weeks. A few weeks ago, I
(04:10):
did a video on dreams and Visions and I highlighted
Heather Shot and after posting that, after looking at Mercy
Culture and posting that video, the more I thought about it,
the more I thought how dangerous this church is. And
so I talking to Robin and I said, you know what,
we ought to do a video on Mercy Culture and
(04:30):
just warn people about the dangers of Mercy.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Culture church, right, because there are some positive aspects when
you watch. We spent the week going over their videos,
especially a number of preaching videos by Land and Shot,
and there were some positives, so we want to mention
those at the outset number one. I've heard him give
(04:53):
a complete gospel presentation, which I frequently don't hear.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
What good news. Here's the good news of the Gospel
of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
It is the message that it's simply the good news
that Jesus has come, his kingdom has come, and salvation
has come. It is the good news that because of
his great mercy. Someone say mercy, through the death and
resurrection of Jesus, God brought salvation to the world. Salvation
is the free gift that we receive by grace through faith.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Someone say, by grace through faith. There's a little bit.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Of an echo going on in the monitors from me.
Romans ten to nine says this. I love this scripture.
It's my son Preston's favorite scripture. It says this, if
we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe
in our heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved. This is the good news that
Jesus took the place of the punishment of sin.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
See.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Originally God made Adam and Eve. He made man in
perfect unity with him. He made paradise and gave us
one rule. Do not touch the tree. But when men
disobeyed God. They brought sin into the world. There had
to be a sacrifice for sin, or there had to
be justice for the sin.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
So an animal was shed.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
And then God created these laws or these ways to
life so that people could be in right standing with God.
But they can never live up to them. They couldn't
do them, They couldn't hold.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
To God's standard.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
So God sent his son in the flesh, who was
all man in all God, who lived a sinless life
for thirty three years. Then he chose to pay, or
to die the sinner's death, and to stand in between
you and God, to take your sins onto him and
pay the debt of sin that you and I couldn't
(06:43):
pay for ourselves. That is the good news of the Gospel.
That we didn't.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Earn it, we don't deserve it.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
It's only by his grace through faith that Jesus saved us.
How many are thankful for salvation today.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
And they talk about sin, they talk about repentance, and
there's some there, There are some, you know, at least
some good aspects in that sense. But for the most part, folks,
these guys are seriously dangerous people. It's a dangerous church
and we're gonna we're gonna take some time here and
we're gonna go through a bunch of clips, and we're
(07:21):
gonna talk about why they are such a dangerous church.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
Right.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
So, the first area of concern that we have is
the teaching that Landon shares on dreams and visions, basically
a hearing God's voice. You can hear it wherever whenever.
He's going to share a lot of his tips of
the trade on how to hear God's voice. So in
our first clip, he's going to talk about being a prophet.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
So watch this.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
There's so many people that love to jump online and
call everybody false prophet. You start googling land and Shot.
Before you're done with shot false prophit.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Will pop up.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
See, people don't understand the difference be between a false
prophet and immature prophet and the accuser of the brethren.
But let me help you. A false prophet intends to
deceive people. There's a guy named Landon Brandon. Robert said,
he's a gay affirming activist that doesn't even believe the
Bible's true. He's a false prophet, he's a false teacher.
He's all over YouTube trying to deceive the body of
(08:20):
Christ where he uses scripture, adds bumbo jumbo to it
and tries to deceive a generation to embrace saying sex attractions.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
So that would be an example of a false teacher
or a false prophet.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Now, an immature prophet could be someone that got it
wrong because they're learning to hear the voice of God.
Maybe like Samuel, they're thinking or taking one look and
they're not learning how to hear God's voice. But the
good news is as you can grow and mature in
your ability to hear God's voice.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Amen. So, Church, we're.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Gonna stop guessing and we're gonna start hearing.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Can I get an amen?
Speaker 1 (08:56):
So, Danny, I don't see any verses on immature profits.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Nothing on immature profits. And the Bible tells us how
we are to test prophets. And by the way, that's
a command in First John. First John tells us that
we are to test. Don't believe every spirit, but tests
the spirits. And so this is something that Christians are
supposed to do. And there's nothing wrong with doing that.
And let me just say this, it is not criticizing
(09:24):
someone who claims to have a prophetic word to test
that prophetic word with scripture, and the Bible is really
really clear about what a false prophet is. And so
there are two places in scripture I think that we
want to go correct.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yes, let's go to Deuteronomy thirteen one through three. If
a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you
and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the
sign or wonder that he tells you, it comes to pass.
And if he says, let us go after other gods
which you have not known, and let us serve them,
you shall not listen to the words of that prophet
(10:03):
or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God
is testing you to know whether you love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
So the first thing about that passage is this is
a prophet that's called a false prophet, but he got
a prophecy right, but he was still a false prophet
because he was leading Israel to worship other gods. And
the equivalent of that would be someone who claims to
be a prophet today and they get it right, and
(10:34):
then they lead you to a false Christ or even
false teaching. It would be the same thing.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Okay, and now we have Deuteronomy eighteen twenty one and
twenty two. And if you say in your heart, how
I mean, how may we know the word that the
Lord has not spoken. When a prophet speaks in the
name of the Lord, if the word does not come
to pass or come true, that is a word the
Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously,
(11:06):
you need not be afraid of him.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
So two very clear passages of scripture that tell us
what a false prophet is. There is nothing about immature
prophets who have to somehow try to learn how to
hear the voice of God, as if the prophets in
the Old Testament or in the New Testament had to
(11:28):
somehow have some kind of training Robin to hear the
voice of God like we see today. You know, if
God wants to speak to us, he's going to do it,
and we're gonna hear his voice and we're gonna know
that it's him absolutely.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
In our next clip, Lindon Shott talks a little bit
more about hearing God's voice.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Every follower of Jesus can hear the voice of God.
John ten twenty seven says, my sheep know my voice
I know them and they follow me church. Every single
day I pray this prayer. I've been doing it for
probably about ten years. Every day I pray this prayer,
Lord speak to me more clearly than anyone on the planet. Now,
(12:14):
before you think that's an arrogant thing to say, can
I tell you the other half of the prayer before
you judge me?
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Then I pray and help me teach others to hear
the same.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
So watch this.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
You're about to step into an answered prayer this month,
because I've been praying for ten years that you would
hear God more clearly than anyone on the planet. And
I promise you, if you partner your faith with this
prayer of ten years, You're gonna be able to hear
God like you've never heard God before.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
I read one.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Scripture when I was eighteen years old and I was
changed forever. And I promise you, if you partner with this,
you will be changed forever. So could I pastor you today? Guy,
lean in with you just a little bit. Okay, Okay,
it is time to spiritually grow. So here's what I mean.
(13:05):
It's time to push past the place that you have peace.
When I ask people has God spoke to you. I
get about eight out of ten times. Will I have
a piece now? If you got saved yesterday or last month,
or you got saved Thursday at belong awesome?
Speaker 3 (13:24):
I love the peace.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Peace is wonderful. He's the Prince of Piece, He's the
King of peace. He sits on our hearts. He has
a throne a peace. Peace is great. If you've been
serving the Lord for ten years, peace ain't good enough?
Turney neighbors say it's time to grow.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
He's gonna finish Ita, He's gonna say it's time to
go to one other level. Now, Robin, what are your
thoughts on that clip?
Speaker 1 (13:45):
My thoughts are I've spent a lot of my Christian
life striving for peace because it's something to one of
the fruits of the spirit.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Right.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
I think if Isaiah twenty six to three used to
be a big verse for me, that will keep him
in perfect peace? Whose mind has stayed on me? So
for a man to stand in the pulpit and tell
me that peace isn't enough, I don't understand that.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
No, no, And we do have scripture that talks about,
you know, the importance of peace, And like you said,
if it is a one of the fruits of the spirit.
It's very very important.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Relations five, twenty two and twenty three. But the fruit
of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self control. Against such things there is no law.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
So the fruit of the spirit is peace, and that
is that is that is something that is good. Now
that this is a big thing with Mercy Culture. They
have a lot of videos about hearing the voice of God,
and their idea of hearing the voice of God is,
of course, you know, this mystical experience, and so yeah,
(15:02):
we want to we want to talk about that, probably
more than some of the other issues that we talk about.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Absolutely, And it just dawned on me. He had mentioned, well,
if you're just a new believer, if you just got saved,
that's great, But if you've been saved for a long time,
you should be hearing the voice of God. Well, immediately,
let's say I'm a new believer in that congregation, I'm
going to start to feel the pressure like, Okay, the
next thing is I need to try to hear the
voice of God. And it's a striving, it's a striving
(15:33):
for something, and it's gonna happen because you'll start hearing something.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Yeah, and that's that's it. That's exactly right. And you
know that's a good point, Robin, because as we are
researching this topic looking at these videos. One of the
things that I notice noticed as we're watching the videos
to use for this video they're watching Mercy Culture videos,
(15:58):
is they're there he works oriented little. They Now there
are some videos where they preach the gospel, but their
whole focus is is it's all works based. It's very
very little, you know, grace, mercy Gospel, anything like that.
(16:19):
You don't hear about that. It's all about experience with these.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Guys, experience and service. You mentioned that, and it reminds
me we don't have it in the video, but I
read it. We've been reading some articles on all the
goings on down there in Fort Worth and some of
the people that have left Mercy Culture. One single dad,
who basically had Sundays off to spend time with his daughter,
wanted to serve at the church and help at the church.
(16:46):
So when he became a member, they put him in
with the children's ministry and he was required to work
six hours every Sunday. And he told him he goes, look,
this is my only day off. I need to spend
time with my family. Also, it's too much, and they
him to request another day off at work to get
the time off he needed.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
And we've we've.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
Been through something very similar to that with the the
church that we were at. It was all about service.
If you're not in there serving God, then you must
either either number one, you don't you're not a serious Christian,
or number two, you don't really love God like you should,
or number three, maybe you're not even saved at all.
(17:26):
And so you have this, you have this this pressure
that's put on your people there at Mercy Culture and
churches like we were involved in this pressure, which and yeah,
or you're looked on as like a lower class Christian.
I'm telling you that is a burden. That is not
something that very much that should be that a Christian
(17:49):
should have to experience anyway.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
So Linden Chuck goes on to talk about other ways
to hear the voice of God through dreams and visions.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
God speaks through dreams. We see this in Joel chapter two.
In Acts chapter two. Now my wife has an amazing
podcast in Amazing Teaching, one of the best teachings I've
ever heard on how God speaks through dreams. We'll put
a link below where you can watch that. So God
does speak through dreams. But listen, when God speaks through dreams,
it is not the cake. It is the icing on
the cake. And some people have elevated dreams as the
(18:22):
highest form that God speaks, and it's not. It is
a way that God speaks. We need to value it,
we need to give it attention, we need to honor it.
But it's one of the ways God speaks. The fourth
way that God speaks is through visions. We see this
in Joel chapter two, in Acts chapter two, when it's
reflecting not only dreams but also visions. Let me tell
(18:44):
you how God spoke to me and showed me about visions.
I'm in my traveling days of ministry. I'm preaching out
a church in Orlando, and I'm telling the story about
my friend who's a minister who's dreams all the time
and he sees angels. And I'm kind of being funny
as I tell the story, and in my star and
I say, I never dream. And in the middle of
my sermon, I hear the Lord speak to me and said,
(19:07):
I speak to you in daydreams all the time. Those
are visions. Now this is wild because in my sermon,
I was jokingly comparing myself to my friend that dreams,
and I was saying, but I never dream, And then
God spoke to me, I speak to you in visions
in the middle of my sermon, and then reveals to
me that they're daydreams, They're spiritual daydreams. And what I
(19:31):
had to learn is sometimes we can judge how other
people hear God, and we can think that they hear
God different, or they hear God better, or they dream
or this happens to them. And what we don't do
is we don't focus on how God speaks to us.
And here's what I want you to understand is that
God wants to speak to you through his Word, through
his voice, through dreams, and through visions. God desires to
(19:53):
speak to you.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
So, Danny, if you're sitting in Lndon shots congregation and
you see that there are four ways that God can
speak to you through the Word, through God's voice, or
dreams or visions, how do you want God to speak
to you.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
Well, of course, any of us would want God to
speak to us in an audible voice. You know, this
experience of hearing God's audible voice, you know, of course,
or through a dream or through a vision, But that
is not how God has chosen to speak to us.
Because again the question is if you have since Satan
(20:38):
masquerades like an angel of light, can can come in
the form of an angel of light, how do you
know that your vision is from God? How do you
know that your dream is from God? How do you
know that that inner voice that you're hearing isn't your
own voice or something else. The only sure fire way
that we know we are hearing the voice of God
is through scripture. That is how God has determined to
(21:01):
speak today with his his, his all sufficient final word.
We cannot we cannot know for sure that what we
are experiencing is from God. If if we have our
Bibles closed and we're sitting there waiting for God to
immediately or you know, immediately speak to us, or you know,
(21:24):
we're having that experience of this, this, this, this presence
coming to us and giving us a vision or a dream,
just not not safe, not safe at.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
All, not safe at all Hebrews one, one and two
long ago, At many times and in many ways, God
spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these
last days he has spoken to us by his son,
whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom
also he created the world.
Speaker 5 (21:53):
So a couple of things to point out in that passage.
First of all, God spoke, that's past tense, and he
spoke in many ways. So when it says at many
times and in many ways to our fathers, he's speaking
of dreams and visions and through the audible voice, in
all the different ways that God spoke to the prophets
in the Old Testament. But in these last days he
(22:15):
has spoken to us through his son. The Son is
the final word. And so the writer of Hebrews is
speaking about something that is sure and complete.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
And that is the scriptures, something we can trust absolutely.
Jeremiah twenty three, twenty five through twenty eight. I have
heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in
my name? Saying I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How
long shall there be lies in the heart of the
prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of
(22:48):
their own heart, who think to make my people forget
my name? By their dreams, that they tell one another
even as their fathers forgot my name for bail. Let
the prophet who has a dream tell a dream. But
let us him who has my word, speak my word faithfully.
What has straw in common with wheat, declares the Lord.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
So let he who has my words speak my word faithfully. Folks,
that is the job of a pastor to preach the
word and to teach people that, yes, we are to
hear from God.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
That is.
Speaker 5 (23:25):
Absolutely we should be hearing the voice of God. But
the way we hear the voice of God is to
open up his word and to read it. As you
read the very words of Scripture, you are reading the
very words of the living God, the same God who
spoke the universe into existence. You are reading his word,
(23:49):
and that is that is awesome. That is amazing.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
It is awesome. Landon Chat does go on Danny to
talk about how we can make sure that we're hearing
the voice of God.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
For the second secret, watch this. When you if you
want to grow in your ability to hear from God,
you need to talk to God out loud. Watch this,
Watch this, Watch this. So God is speaking to Samuel.
Photographic backup, Please God.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Is speaking to Samuel.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
He's in the same room as Eli, but Eli can't
hear it. So if Eli can't hear it, it means
it's not audible. It has to be internal because you're
in the same room. So God is speaking to Samuel internally,
and then Samuel responds the way Eli taught him, Speak Lord,
(24:38):
your servant is listening. That's translated into Hebrew to mean this,
speak Lord, your servant hears you. So here's the revelation
of talking to God out loud.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Watch.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
God is speaking to him eternally, but Samuel speaks back audibly.
Watch he begins a conversation with the Lord. If you
want to grow in your ability to hear from God,
this is the secret.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Talk to them. Talk to them all the time, talk
to them on a regular basis.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
When I read this at eighteen years old, it absolutely
changed my life. I started praying speak Lord your servants
listening on a daily basis, multiple times a day church.
For twenty three years, I have prayed this prayer every
single day, multiple times the day. I do not put
my children to bed at night without praying over them,
Speak Lord your servants listening. I have not driven them
(25:27):
to school one time without praying with them, Speak, Lord,
your servants listening. I have not stood at this pulpit
and began to preach a sermon without praying over you.
Speak Lord, your servants are listening.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
It is not accidental that this is happening, because when
you tell the Lord, speak Lord, your servants listening, you
are declaring I'm hearing from you.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Watch.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
It is a prayer of faith, of expectation, saying I
know you're gonna talk to me, and I want to
let you know that I'm paying attention to the things
that you say.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
It is a faith, a prayer of faith. It's a
prayer that's prophetic.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
It is a prayer that will change your life. I
wrote it on shoes as a young minister. I put
it on t shirts. We write it down and put
it all over the hallways of our church.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
This is so important.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
It will change your life when you begin to talk
to God out loud.
Speaker 5 (26:17):
Show me one passage of scripture that says that we
always have to talk to God out loud if we're
going to hear his voice, because there is not one
a pause. So Landon says that this teaching is life changing,
is going to change your life. Yet no apostle teaches this.
Not one place in scripture teaches this.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Especially throughout the New Testament.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
All of the.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Commands that we are given for what we should be doing,
how we're to be working quietly, how we're to be
a good testimony and do this and do that, but
nobody tells us. They all forgot to tell us that
we have to be talking to God out loud and
then we'll get the secret sauce.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
Yeah, and speaking of secrets, whenever you hear a pastor
talk about secrets or a teacher talk about secrets, run
because yeah, run, this is this is what the Gnostics did.
By the way, folks, this is this is really a
lot of this stuff is very gnostic. It may not equal,
you know, full blown gnosticism, but it is very gnostic.
(27:16):
Especially this idea that there are three secrets to hearing
God's voice or or you know, three secrets to get
your healing or.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Whatever it is.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
This is a this this is like some special knowledge
that these guys have received that they want to give
to you. And this is a form of gnosticism.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
There's that level of super Christians that they followed the secrets.
They know more than we do. They have the closer
relationship with God. Absolutely, yeah, so Danny. The next category
we wanted to cover for our concerns about Mercy Culture
was women pastors. Now you know Heather's Shot is a
(27:59):
pastor of Mercy Culture Church. If you go over to
their website, you will see that on all of their
different campuses, they show pictures of the pastors and every
pastor is a pastor couple. You have Mercy Culture Dallas
has a pastor couple. You have Mercy Culture East fort Worth.
(28:23):
Now Landon and Heather are regular fort Worth and this
is East fort Worth has a pastor couple. And then
of course we have Mercy Culture Waco as well, all
pastor couples. So that's concerning, and we wanted to show
you a slide where Heather Shot is sitting down with
(28:45):
two other pasturettes.
Speaker 6 (28:48):
Hello, everybody, welcome to another episode of Holy Disruption. I'm
your host, Heather Shot, and I'm so excited about today's episode.
I have been wanting to talk about this for a
very long time. I just needed this specific people to
have this conversation with me, and today I have incredible
(29:09):
women worship leaders Catherine Mullins, a speaker revivalist who's super
passionate about seeing lives transformed through encounters with Jesus and discipling,
discipling the church. She's also a pastor and personally she's
just a fiery woman. I love watching her preach and
(29:30):
lead worship. She leans in all of the way, and
that's why I have her here today with me. And
then a spiritual daughter, incredible woman of God, known her
since she was fourteen years old, Pastor Jasmine Wheeler, who
leads Mercy culture worship and also leads Axel. An amazing
woman of God, also on fire for Jesus. And look,
(29:51):
this is why I wanted to bring these two women
on to have this conversation. It's today, we're talking about
worship culture. We're going to be having a disruptive conversations about. Honestly,
as a pastor, some things I'm super concerned about that
I have seen in the worship world.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
So just some examples there of pastors within women, pastors
within the you know, the mercy culture, mercy cultures, fears,
we can call it, but we'reld of mercy culture. But folks,
these these ladies in they're only pastors by name. Biblically,
they are not pastors because and we've talked about this,
(30:35):
haven't we robin at nauseum?
Speaker 1 (30:37):
You know what we're going to say.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
Yeah, the Bible makes it very very clear that women
are not to be pastors.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Right, and before we go into a few verses, we
wanted to show you a clip of landon On propping
up his WiFi pastor Heather.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
So as we talk about this, I want to make
sure it's clear that mercy culture before we started, Remember
I didn't want a pastor.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
I was at Advangelis for years. I was good with it, and.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
When the Lord told me to do it, I said, fine,
but tell me why. I asked him why do you
want a mercy culture? And when he did, he gave
me five things. So when I asked the Lord, why
do you want me to plant this church?
Speaker 3 (31:16):
He gave me five things.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
We call them a unique characteristics and they're part of
our culture of mercy culture, our very intentional culture. And
one of those unique characteristics, please make sure you stup
on the screen, is our empowerment of women in ministry.
This is an important part. So even before we planted
the church, when I asked the Lord why he wanted
us to He told me, I want you to empower
(31:40):
women in ministry.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
So this is really important.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
I never asked you why God told me to plant
this church. I asked him why he wanted us.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
To plant this church.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
And the entire time that we have been leading and
building mercy culture, from the beginning, before day one, it.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Has always been to please the Lord. Are you with me?
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Speaking of pleasing the Lord? I wanted to just take
a moment in honor women in ministry in this house.
There are so many dynamic women ministers in this house,
but specifically I want my wife, so, Heather, I want
you to stand up. And she has been abused, she
(32:40):
has been harassed, she has been dishonored, she has been
light about, she has been discredited, she has been called
a usurped authority. Everything that you can imagine, she's been called.
Over the years, I watched individuals give me in her honorariums,
ask you to preach, never give you honorariums, deny you
honor over and over and over. And you never asked
(33:01):
to be in ministry. You've never asked to preach. You've
never put yourself forward one time I ask you, and
the only reason why you're in ministry is because you
submitted to your husband's authority. Has the Lord asked me
to ask you. You've honored your God, you've honored your husband,
You've honored this house, and today.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
I want to honor you. Has it a dynamic women
in ministry?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
You don't set the bar, darling, and you have broken
the bar.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
I love you and I honor you.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
All right, Robin. When we were going over the stuff
for this video, including this clip, you really showed some
disdain when we played this clip.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Why is that.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Number one to prop up for land in, to prop
up his wife Heather when all these other women out
in that congregation are also working very, very hard at
whatever ministry they have, And if that ministry is only
to serve your husband and family and people in your neighborhood,
(34:09):
it's a huge You know what it's like being a woman,
and you want to you just want to serve the Lord.
So I wasn't a big fan of him propping Heather
up in that. In addition this, in this particular video,
he is talking about women in ministry and he wants
to give a biblical argument for why women can be pastors,
(34:32):
and so he and he spends an hour he went
through every Old Testament and New Testament example of female
leaders in the Bible with which we would agree, like
what ninety nine.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
Ninety ninety percent of what he said, We are not
against women in ministry. There is as a matter of fact,
women can be in ministry, and there's plenty of places, yeah,
in scripture where they are.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
And his big argument is about to all of the
people who think women can't be in ministry. So it's
kind of a lame argument to begin with. And in
this next clip in particular, he talks about women in ministry,
and we're going to talk about that after we watch
this much.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Apostle Paul is addressing specific local churches and cultural issues
that they were having. This wasn't meant to be understood
of a mandate for all churches in all times. The
principles of one Corinthians fourteen and one Timothy two is
unless people take time to properly understand the context of
which something is written, then people reach unfortunate conclusions like
(35:43):
women must cover their heads all the time, women can't teach,
they can't wear jewelry, women can't cut their hair or
church services should be done with snakes, you.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Will get in a weird theology.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
And I would add to that that don't let uneducated, untrained, unprofessional,
out of order, unsubmitted folks. Teacher, you serve authority at
any time church. It cannot be a universal prohibition. If
Paul endorses so many women in ministry all throughout God's
Word and said, day, I want to give you a
(36:18):
revelation called all.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
What do you mean all?
Speaker 2 (36:21):
In Joel chapter two twenty eight, it says, and I
will pour out my spirit on all flesh Acts chapter two,
I will pour out my spirit on all. Claus three
sixteen says let the word of Christ dell in you
or y'all richly in a monish one another.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
On Corinthians twelve seven.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
It says, to each is given a manifestation of the
spirit for the common good.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
First Crinthians fourteen five.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but
even more to prophesy Philippines four thirteen.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
I can do.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
All things through Christ, who strengthens me. Women, if God
has called you, then you can do all things through
Christ that strengthens you.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Not only that.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
In Matthew twenty eight nineteen is the Great Commission where
God tells us to go out into all the world
preaching the Gospel. So if you believe the lie that
women cannot participate in ministry, it means that only fifty
percent of the Body of Christ are fulfilling the Great Commission.
And maybe that's why we see the world in the
state that it's in.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
All right, So he just hammered off a bunch of
verses there that were completely taken out of context, and
that had nothing to do whatsoever with the topic of
pastor or women pastors. Everything was taken out of context there.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
It was one of his arguments during his message was that,
and I'm sure you've heard this argument before that in
the Corinthian Church everything was a little bit out of
order because everything was new and women had this new freedom,
but they were not educated, but they felt compelled to
speak their minds at meetings, and he was telling them
(38:00):
they had to be quiet and in submission. And so
Lendenshott uses First Corinthians, and he goes to First Timothy
too as well, but he never reads the whole passage
of First Timothy too. And we wanted to go ahead
and do that now.
Speaker 5 (38:17):
Yeah, I think we do. I want to. I just
want to say, just to reiterate again before we even
go here, really, re reiterate, re reiterate. Okay, so we'll
re reiterate. Really really, women pastors is what the Bible
excludes from ministry for women pastors. We've talked about this
(38:41):
before the Old Testament, do you you know? Even though
and they go back to the Old Testament, they talk
about Deborah, and they talk about some of these old
miriam and that's fine.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
We don't.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
I mean, the Bible says there were women leaders, of course,
but when it came to the priesthood, there were no
women priests. They were there were no women Levite sacrificing
at the sacrificing the animals for the common Israelite that
came in to bring the sacrifice. There was no women
serving that way in the temple. They were not going
(39:11):
into the Holy of Holies, so no women there at all.
And God does not exclude women from ministry. He excludes
women from being pastors, shepherds.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Yeah, okay, so let's read First Timothy two twelve through fifteen.
I do not permit a woman to teach or to
exercise authority over a man. Rather, she is to remain quiet.
For Adam was formed first, then Eve, and Adam was
not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
Yet she will be saved through child bearing if they
(39:47):
continue in faith and love and holiness with self control.
So Danny, when landon Shot was using this, he only
read up through she is to remain quiet. He didn't
read the part about for Adam was formed first and
then even that's a primary argument that there is a
difference between men and women, and there is a different
(40:11):
role that each of us play. One Timothy three one
through seven, The saying is trustworthy. If anyone aspires to
the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore,
an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife,
sober minded, self controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not
(40:33):
a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a
lover of money. He must manage his own household well
with all dignity, keeping his children submissive. For if someone
does not know how to manage his own household, how
will he care for God's church? He must not be
a recent convert, or he may be puffed up with
conceit and fall into condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he
(40:57):
must be well thought of by outsiders, that he may
not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
So keeping in mind that there were no chapter in
verse divisions in the Bible during this time where Paul
is talking about not allowing a woman or permitting a
woman to teach or exercise authority over a man. At
the end of chapter two, it runs right into chapter
three because Paul automatically goes right into the qualifications of
(41:29):
an elder and deacon, and he must be the husband
of one wife. This is all very clear that he's
talking about men here. There is no place in scripture
where Paul, as a matter of fact, Paul's making it
clear that a woman is not to be a pastor.
This is all in the context of the qualifications for
(41:52):
a pastor. So a woman is not permitted to teach
or to exercise authority because that is what a pastor does.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Right, And just adding a little more common sense to
the argument. And I know we've done this before, but
women are told wives submit to your husband's right. So
if I have to submit to my husband, but I'm
allowed to get on a platform and have spiritual authority
(42:23):
over every other woman's husband in that congregation, it just
doesn't make sense, Like, why would I have to submit
to my own husband but have authority over my neighbor's husband.
Very it doesn't make sense.
Speaker 5 (42:37):
Very good point, very very good point.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
It doesn't make sense. So where are we now, Danny.
Speaker 5 (42:43):
We're going to talk about the connections right before we
before we get into this, let me just say this.
I'll put a link to you know, we've done several
videos I believe on this, haven't we any or at
least we've talked to know the pastor the women in ministry.
I'll put at least a link to one of the
(43:04):
videos that we've done recently, the most recent one, and
then you know, you guys can go to the channel
one sure checking them out.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Yes, so you mentioned any of our connections Number one.
We're going to talk about John Paul Jackson a little
bit later. But he's kind of their spiritual father and
they get a lot of their dream interpretation information and
they're Jezebel teachings from John Paul Jackson.
Speaker 5 (43:30):
Yeah, and just quickly, John Paul Jackson was one of
the Kansas City prophets years ago that Bob Jones was
a part of that group as well.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Right, So we're going to talk a little more about
John Paul Jackson, but in addition to him, we're going
to show you a number of clips showing who else
they have relationships with. In this first clip, you'll see
they're at the Fort Worth East Campus introducing Cindy Jacobs.
Speaker 5 (43:56):
We are so excited about having one of our I'm
my main spiritual mother, prophet Cindy Jacobs.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
Can we stand up and give Mama Cindy Jacobs Prophet Sidney.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Jacobs the biggest East Fort Worth honor.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
Welcome that we can think. Come on, you can do
better than that.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
Thank you, Lord for the gift.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
That she is to the House of God as she's
coming up making her way. We also want to honor
our elders PASTORALI, Lise, Sa and Matt for being here
this morning. We love you.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Mama Cindy, Amen, please be seated. What an honor to
be here.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
I have seen him be kind closed doors, and that's
why I said, enough is enough of this gossip in
slander because the accuser of the Brethren is going after
men of God that they have given their lives to
build the kingdom.
Speaker 3 (44:54):
Someone say not on my watch.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
Doctor Brown, honor you, We celebrate you, and this President
Shriven Church and community of Pastors is behind you. I
want to thank publicly Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway and
Gateway Church for introducing me to the revelation of stewardship.
Pastor Robert, we honor you and because of what you
(45:19):
have sown into the body of Christ, I am a benefactor.
Mercy Culture is a benefactor. Waco's a benefactor everything that
we touched because of this.
Speaker 6 (45:29):
What would you say to those struggling in their identity
right now? What would you say to encourage them?
Speaker 7 (45:37):
I mean, I would just I would say this, the
enemy is messing with you because of your calling, because
of your great calling that God has for you. I mean,
it's you can see it. He's he picks on like
he don't. He doesn't make counterfeit one dollar bills, you know.
Speaker 3 (45:55):
He makes.
Speaker 7 (45:58):
People if they're wanting to counterfeit money, to create a counterfeit,
they're not gonna use the lowest denomination. They're gonna want
to use the highest. So the enemy does the same thing.
He comes and he picks on those that he's scared
of the most.
Speaker 2 (46:13):
And I believe that God has brought us a gift.
He puts his hand on men to be gifts to
the Body of Christ, to people's in nations. And I
believe one of those gifts one of those generals. And
I don't say that loosely. When when people say that
and they're blowing smoke or they're flattering, it's not. It's
really a fear and tremble, a true general in the faith.
(46:34):
Honor is one of the values of our house. Which
you please stand to your feet, put your hands together,
and honor. Prophet Dutch seats as he comes to minister.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
I love the passage, and you let us him.
Speaker 8 (46:56):
I say forty four, I pour out my spirit of
place on your offspring and my blessing upon your descendants.
I will pour out water upon the dry ground, and
then it says, your offspring, we'll spring up like poplars
among the water courses, and they will write on.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
Their arms belonging to the Lord. This is how I
pray God. There's coming a.
Speaker 8 (47:19):
Tattoo generation and they're gonna write on their arms?
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Did you get what I'm saying? I believe maybe they were.
Speaker 8 (47:27):
Prophesied of the generation that would tattoo their arms belonging
to the Lord.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
I want you to pray right now.
Speaker 8 (47:34):
I want you to pray for this busted, broken generation
that God has marked how they will tattoo on their arms.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
Come on, pray, give us another Jesus.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
Statement, some one more connection. We just wanted to quickly mention.
It was Lance Walt. Now so very both of them,
very politically active, loud political voices. I know there were
articles about Land in shot in his local papers about
his he was promoting one of the one of his
(48:07):
elders to hold a political office, and he was encouraging
people in his church to vote for that individual. Prior
to the recent whatever the irs said that we could
now that churches can now promote political candidates, this was
prior to that, so he was really pushing his own
church's candidate, and of course the man lost. But he
(48:31):
and Lance have a lot of things in common politically.
Speaker 5 (48:34):
And there's nothing wrong with a Christian being in politics.
There's nothing wrong with that at all. But what is
wrong is when you think that you have to be
in politics and that you you know, it's one of
the seven mountains that you have to conquer before Christ
comes back. And then you've got a big issue.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
And that's what this is all about.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
Big issue and a big issue if you say things
like if you're a Democrat, you're not a Christian.
Speaker 5 (48:55):
Oh yell.
Speaker 1 (48:56):
That was a big deal for Landon. So another area
of concern that we have is, of course, and this
would go along with the nar is spiritual warfare and
his teaching on Jezebel and the Jezebel Spirit, just like
all of these other teachers. If you've seen any of
our videos on Ryan the Strange or Jennifer Leclair, a
(49:19):
lot of them spend a lot of time on the
Jezebel spirit and d and witchcraft and witchcraft and land
and Shot does the same. And here's a clip.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
So why do we call it the Jezebel Spirit. Well,
this woman Jezebel lived in nine hundred BC, which we
find in First Kings. But then I open up with
the text of Revelation chapter two, which was written in
ninety six AD. So here we have nine hundred years
between the writing of First Kings and revelations too. So
(49:54):
Jesus is warning the New Testament Church, the Last Day
Church about tolerating this woman Jezebel that died nine hundred
years prior. So he was not talking about the threat
of a person. He was talking about the threat of
a spirit.
Speaker 3 (50:13):
Turn your neighbor and say, it's a spirit.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
This Jezebel spirit is a spirit of witchcraft that has
plagued the church. And I'm gonna begin to describe how
it looks. So again, we're not talking about a woman.
Even though I say she, It's very important you understand
that we're not talking about a woman.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
We're talking about a spirit.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
The Bible uses this spirit to talk about or describes.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
The woman Jezebel.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
She was a woman, and so we say she when
we're describing it.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
But we're not talking about women.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
We're talking about people, okay, that are under this spirit's authority,
under this spirit's control.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
It's very important.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
Public service announcement. No jaggings ever, no longer a specially
man like why is a man wearing jaggings? I had
to say it. Have you okay, I know, got to
say it.
Speaker 5 (51:15):
Have you seen the tight pants videos?
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Saturday Night Live?
Speaker 3 (51:20):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (51:21):
My goodness, everybody's talking about my tight pants.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
And they're all wearing very tight white pants.
Speaker 9 (51:35):
Everybody's talking about my I got my pants, I got
my pants. Everybody's looking at my tide pants. I got
my ted pants, I got my tight dants.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
I didn't think she was gonna say anything man, even women,
but especially men.
Speaker 5 (51:57):
Oh oh, my goodness, it's not okay, it's not okay.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
Back to the video.
Speaker 5 (52:01):
Let's talk about the video for a second. Okay. So
in his podcast, he does the same thing. If you
look at his Jezebel podcast, they love to go to
that Revelation chapter two twenty passage because that's where Jesus
mentions Jezebel. But they don't mention one thing. This is
not speaking of a spirit. So we should look at
that passage.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
Okay, Revelation two nineteen through twenty three. I know your works,
your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and
that your latter works exceed the first. But I have
this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who
calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my
servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrifice
(52:44):
to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she
refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. Behold, I will
throw her onto a sick bed, and those who commit
adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation unless
they repent of her works. And I will strike her
children dead. And all the churches will know that I
am he who searches mind and heart, and I will
(53:07):
give to each of you according to your works.
Speaker 5 (53:10):
All right, So notice who Jesus is speaking to here.
There is a woman that he is calling Jezebel. This
is a real woman. This is not speaking of a
spirit here. He is talking about a woman, a false
prophet that he is calling Jezebel, because she has the
same characteristics as a Jezebel. So Jesus is calling her Jezebel.
(53:33):
You don't give a spirit time to repent, and you
don't throw a spirit on a sick bed. And it
just you can't look at that in its context and
say that this is a spirit. This isn't That is
not a spirit that Jesus is referring to. This is
(53:53):
a real false prophetesst in the church during that time.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
Absolutely, I know I looked at a few commentaries just
to make sure, and every one of them said this
was an actual woman that they were having problems with.
Speaker 5 (54:06):
Yeah, and so those who love to go to that
Jezebel passage or go to that passage in revelation and
equate that with the Jezebel Spirit, they have to be
purposely not pointing you to the context, because the context
kills the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
Yes, it does. So in this book that Landon Shot
wrote on the Jezebel Spirit, he goes into great detail.
He shares like thirty three different characteristics of a Jezebel Well.
John Paul Jackson wrote the forward. And John Paul Jackson,
as I'm sure you know, was with the Kansas City Prophets.
Speaker 5 (54:46):
He was with the Kansas City Prophets along with Bob Jones,
Mike Bickel, James Gall there was somebody else, It slips
my mind. I listed them off in the video. I
did all terms. Paul Kane, Paul Kaine, and every one
of these men were except for John Paul Jackson, were
ousted for sexual immorality.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
So he had gained quite a reputation for being an
accurate prophet, which is something else because all the modern
profits are not accurate. And then he started getting some
prophecies wrong and got like they kind of tried to
push him out because it was embarrassing after a while.
Speaker 5 (55:27):
Yeah, and I mentioned that in the Dreams and Visions video.
But yeah, he was a yeah, he was a bona
fide false prophet. And Landon and Heather they promote this guy.
Speaker 1 (55:38):
He's up on a pedestal with them. He's a spiritual father.
So anyway, he wrote the forward, and in that forward
he says the following. Amidst the crescendo of decadence and
depravity in our day, God is raising up a prophetic generation.
This generation will carry the spirit of Elijah. It will
be anointed to perform miraculous signs and wonders and accomplish
(56:00):
great exploits for the Kingdom of God, just as he
has done from the beginning. Satan is raising up fierce
opposition to this prophetic generation. The enemy has always sought
to silence God's prophetic voices and abort intercessory prayer once again.
Its name is Jezebel, a diabolical spiritual force that seeks
(56:22):
to deceive, defile, and destroy God's authorities.
Speaker 5 (56:28):
Yeah, so you can see there that you know that
Landon gets a you're gonna see I should say he
gets a lot of his teaching from John Paul Jackson.
I mean the dreams and vision stuff as well. Absolutely,
because John Paul Jackson was big on that.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Now, Landon also did a number of videos on the
Jezebel spirit. And we're not going to get too much
into detail because you've heard a lot about Jezebel. And
of course they use the verse about how we don't
fight against.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
Flegh, flesh and blood and Ephesians chapter five.
Speaker 1 (57:02):
Exactly, and we totally agree with that. But it seems
to be whenever we find a book on Jezebel, everything's
blamed on Jezebel. And when he goes through the list
of the characteristics, well, if you're fearful, if you're angry, if.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
You're jealous, you have anxiety.
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Yeat everything. I can tell you this, we're all Jezebel.
If you can buy this list, right, absolutely Jezebel.
Speaker 5 (57:25):
If you're a human being, you're a Jezebel or you've
got a Jezebel spirit right attacking you.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
But let's read this next quote that Landon writes to
get a little bit of an insight into where he's
going with Jezebel. Before you begin reading, I want to
give you a friendly, but serious warning. Jezebel doesn't like
to be talked about. She doesn't like to be exposed.
She wants to remain hidden with full control over your life, mind,
(57:52):
and soul. As you begin to expose the spirit and
how it operates through people, it will stop at nothing
to keep you bound in fear, confusion, and torment. The
stories in this book are drawn from actual situations in
churches and other ministry organizations. As you read, you will
learn the Spirit of Jezebel targets prophetic, spirit led, soul
(58:14):
winning ministries, even through pastors and spiritual leaders. It should
be understood that this in no way gives anyone licensed
to rebel against pastors or church leaders the encounter. Those
who find themselves unable to trust, obey, or submit to
church leaders would be wise to understand that the Spirit
(58:36):
of Jezebel has already begun to influence them. I encourage you,
prayerfully and humbly ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you,
give you a submissive heart, and minister to you as
you continue reading.
Speaker 5 (58:52):
So we were talking about that quote as we're preparing
for this video, and what is it that you told me?
Speaker 1 (59:00):
Well, what is it that you see in that quote?
There's a lot of gentle warning about having any issue
with the people who have spiritual authority over you. Don't
come up against your pastor. And how often have we
heard that people that even you guys who write to
us tell us your pastor accused you of having a
(59:20):
Jezebel spirit because you had questions exactly.
Speaker 5 (59:24):
And so that means if you are sitting there in
your congregation and your pastor is preaching, and you're looking
at the scripture following along and you're saying, but wait
a minute, in context, it doesn't mean that, and you
go to your pastor about this, Well, you could have
a Jezebel spirit because you're being critical and you're not
(59:44):
you know, you're not submitting to your pastor's teaching.
Speaker 1 (59:47):
Very careful.
Speaker 5 (59:48):
Yeah, So, anyway, folks, I hope this video has been helpful.
This is who Mercy Culture is. And again they have
a very dangerous theology of prayer. We're going to begin
into that in another video, but they are a dangerous group.
They're a dangerous church heather and landed shots should be
(01:00:08):
marked and avoided. So again, I hope this video was helpful.
If it was, please pass it along. Lord William will
see you next week.
Speaker 9 (01:00:15):
By everybody talking about my tide, I got my diet pans,
I got my type pants. All everybody's looking at my
tide pants. I got my tie pants, I got my
(01:00:36):
type pants all
