You know, I've been around this earth for quite a
few decades now. I've seen things that would make your
hair stand on end, and I've seen things that would
restore your faith in humanity. But what happened to me
last Tuesday at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, Well, that
was something else entirely. Let me tell you about it,
because I think there's a lesson in here, somewhere for
all of us. I was in Houston doing some business,

Now I'm not what you'd call a regular church goer,
but I was raised with certain values. My mother made

this former sports arena turned into what they call a megachurch,
I thought to myself, why not let's see what this
is all about. Lakewood Church, you've probably heard of. It

seats sixteen thousand people. That's not a church. That's a
small city. The parking lot alone was bigger than some
towns I've filmed in cars everywhere, people streaming in wearing
their Sunday best, smiling, laughing, taking selfies. It felt more
like going to a concert than going to church, but
I kept an open mind. I'm good at that had
to be in my line of work. I walked in

and the first thing that hit me was the sheer
scale of everything. Big screens everywhere, lights, cameras, production crews
running around with headsets like we were about to film
the Oscars. The lobby, if you can call it, that
had a bookstore, a coffee shop, and what looked like
a merchandise stand t shirts, coffee, mugs, DVDs. I picked

up one of the books twenty four to ninety five
for a book about God's love. I put it back down.
A young man with perfect teeth and a smile that
could light up a runway approach me. Welcome to Lakewood Church, sir,

I said, well, you're in for a treat. Pastor Joel
is going to give an incredible message today. It's going
to be life changing. He said it with such enthusiasm
that I almost believed him. I found a seat somewhere
in the middle section. Even from there, the stage looked
far away. I've performed in big venues, but this was different.
This wasn't about entertainment, or was it. I couldn't tell yet.

The seats filled up quickly, thousands of people, all eager,
all ready to hear whatever Joel Ostein had to say.
Then the music started, a full band, professional singers, lights,
choreographed to every beat. It was impressive, I'll give them that.
The production value was through the roof. People around me
were raising their hands, swaying, singing along. It was energetic,

I'll say that, but something felt off. I couldn't quite
put my finger on it. Then Joel came out, immaculate suit,
perfect hair, that smile that's been on television screens across
America for years. The crowd erupted. People were cheering like
he was a rock star. Maybe he is in his
own way. He started his message and I listened, I

really listened. He talked about God's favor, about how we're
all destined for greatness, how we need to speak positivity
into our lives, how God wants us to be successful,
healthy and wealthy. It was motivational. Sure, it was uplifting
in a way. But as I sat there listening to
him tell people that God was like a cosmic vending machine.

Put in your faith, get out your blessings. Something didn't
sit right with me. I thought about the gospel I
had heard as a kid. I thought about Jesus, who
didn't have a place to lay his head, who told
a rich young man to sell everything he had and
give it to the poor, who said it was easier
for a camel to go through the eye of a
needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom
of heaven. I thought about the Apostles, most of whom
died penniless and persecuted. I thought about the early Christians
(01:44:04):
who were thrown to lions because they wouldn't renounce their faith.
And here was Joel Ostein in his multimillion dollar church,
living in his ten million dollar mansion, telling people that
God's main concern was making them comfortable and prosperous. Something
wasn't adding up. After the service, I decided I wanted
to talk to him. I'm not one to keep my
mouth shut when something's bothering me. I've never been good

at that, ask anyone who's worked with me. So I
made my way through the crowd, passed the smiling volunteers,
past the security guards, until I found someone who looked
like they might be able to help me. I'd like
to speak with Pastor Ostein, I said to a woman
with a clipboard. She looked at me, recognized me. I
saw it in her eyes and her expression changed from
polite church volunteered to starstruck. Mister Eastwood, Oh my goodness,

I'm sure Pastor Joel would love to meet you. Let
me see what I can do. Ten minutes later, I
was being escorted backstage. The behind the scenes area looked
like the headquarters of a fortune FI five hundred company offices,
conference rooms, people rushing around with purpose. We walked down
a car door until we reached the door with Joel's
name on it. The woman knocked and a voice from

inside said, come in. Joel Ostein stood up from behind
a desk that looked like it costs more than my
first car. That smile never wavered. Mister Eastwood, What an honor?
What brings you to Lakewood? We shook hands. His grip

i'd check out what you're doing here. Well, we're so

It was impressive? I said, and I met it. The production,
the music, the energy, very impressive. We want to create

down a lot of people in my life, both on
screen and off. Is this a business or a place
of worship? The smile faltered just for a second, but

all of this, the stadium, the merchandise, the production, the
message about prosperity and success. Is this a business you're

running or is this a church? Because from where I'm sitting,
it's hard to tell the difference. The room got very quiet.
Joel's smile returned, but it was different, now, tighter. Mister Eastwood,
we're doing God's work here. We're reaching millions of people
with a message of hope, I repeated, or false promises.

You're telling people that if they just believe hard enough,
pray hard enough, give enough money, that God will make
them rich and successful. But that's not what Jesus taught.
Jesus taught sacrifice. He taught about taking up your cross.
He told his followers they'd be persecuted, not prosperous. He
didn't promise anyone a comfortable life. Joel's expression hardened. I
think you're misunderstanding our message, am I? I interrupted? Does

it seem pretty clear to me? You've got sixteen thousand
people in there every Sunday, and you're telling them what
they want to hear, not what they need to hear.
You're running a feel good factory, not a church. Before
Joel could respond, the door opened, and of all people

walked through the backstage area, past the shocked volunteers and
staff members out a side door into the Houston heat.

we got there, he finally spoke again, You shouldn't have
done that. Maybe not, I said, but somebody needs to.
Pastor Joel is a good man. He helps a lot
of people, does he or does he help them feel
good while keeping them right where they are? There's a difference, Chuck.
Chuck didn't respond. He just watched as I got in
my car and drove away. Now I'm telling you this

story because I think there's something important here for Christians,
real Christians to understand. And I say real Christians not
to be judgmental, but to distinguish between people who are
genuinely trying to follow Jesus and people who are just
looking for a religious justification for the American dream. Here's
my advice, and take it or leave it. First, question
everything Jesus said to test the spirits. Paul told the
(01:49:42):
Brians to examine everything carefully. If someone is teaching you
something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If someone is promising you health, wealth and happiness just
for believing the right things and giving enough money, they're
not teaching Christianity. They're teaching capitalism with a Jesus sticker
on it. Second, read your Bible. Actually read it, not

just the highlighted verses that make you feel good, but
all of it. Read about Jesus telling people to sell
what they have and give to the poor. Read about
the early church sharing everything in common. Read about Paul
working with his hands to support himself while preaching. Read
about the Apostles being beaten, imprisoned, and killed.

That's the real story of Christianity, not this sanitized, commercialized
version we're being sold. Third, look at the fruit. Jesus
said you'd know people by their fruit. So look at
what these megachurch pastors produce. Are they producing humble, sacrificial
disciples who care for the poor and marginalized, or are
they producing consumers who think God exists to make them comfortable.

Are they building the kingdom of God or building their
own kingdoms? Fourth, remember what church is supposed to be.
It's not supposed to be an entertainment venue. It's not
supposed to be a motivational seminar. It's supposed to be
a community of believers who gathered to worship God, to
encourage one another, to serve those in need, and to
hold each other accountable. When church becomes a production, something

essential is lost. And finally, don't confuse prosperity with God's blessing. Yes,
God wants good things for you, but sometimes the best
things aren't comfortable. Sometimes God's blessing looks like hardship that
builds character. Sometimes it looks like sacrifice that produces wisdom.
Sometimes it looks like suffering that deepens faith. The idea
that God's favor always equals material success is not only wrong,

it's dangerous. It makes people who are struggling feel like
they're doing something wrong, like God is disappointed in them.
And it makes wealthy people feel justified in their wealth,
no matter how they got it or what they do
with it. I'm an old man now. I've made a
lot of movies, I met a lot of people, seen
a lot of things, and I can tell you this,
The people I respect most aren't the ones with the

biggest houses or the most successful careers. They're the ones
who've lived with integrity, who sacrifice for others, who stayed
true to their principles even when it costs themselves. That's
the kind of Christianity I can respect. Not this sanitized, commercialized,
prosperity focused version that's being peddled in stadiums across America.

Not this faith that asks nothing of you except to believe,
to be positive, and to give money. Real faith costs something,
it demands something. It changes you. And if your church
isn't challenging you, if your pastor isn't making you uncomfortable sometimes,
if your faith is all about feeling good and being blessed,
then maybe it's time to ask the question I asked
Joel ostein is this a business or is it a

place of worship? Because the answer matters more than you
might think.

why Jesus came. And make no mistake about it, Jesus

the Lord Jesus Christ. And is being seen fifty days
after the resurrection, included out Law. Now listen to me

from the grave, the Book of direct Corinthians and pauland
other writers stated that he was seen some fifty days

after the resurrection, as they had moved around throughout Judah

The writers that give us that information about how many
days Jesus spent honor before his actual resurrection a little
bit cryptic about that. That's to say, they're not definitively

scientifically mathematically accurate about it. But what is clear is
that he did spend some days. Now, what I want
to do is talk to you about how Otlaw was born,
where Atlaw was born. But let me it is clear
that even the Gospels of John and others right that
while the disciples were having breakfast in a house, Jesus

walked through the door. This is after the resurrection, and
Peter was fishing, that had gone back to fishing and
gone back to his old if you will haunt the

sea shore that we're talking about at least fifty days

planet as a resurrected savior with a job completed. What
Jesus came to do, my friend, was to complete the

and that blessing was to be given out first of
all to Isaac, and then secondly the blessing was to
be given out to the Jews themselves. But after the
blessing had been given out to the Jews, there were

a group of people who were Hamites who were not

sound of this legally, you need to take it up
with God. I'm just going by what the biblical text,
what the ancient texts, spanning more than five thousand years

of religious history of victory and explanation of creation tells us.
So there was only one blessing ishmael Oh, you couldn't
get it. Isaac got it. There was only one blessed humanity.
The Jews got it, not the Hamites. But let me

bring you to where we just got started. The purpose
of Jesus was not to come to heal everybody. Now,
thank God, he healed the one with the issue of
the blood, the man that lived by the pool for
thirty and eight years. Same way I believe he's gonna
heal the elder Butler and sister Mingo. But the purpose
of Jesus coming was to put that blessing upon the

Tamites and the jay Fithh people. And he did so
through the process by which we all understand that we
are connected, and that's through the power of the blood.
The life is in the blood the living. Like Chapter seven,
verse eleven, I believe the life is in the blood.

So what Jesus did was that he shed his uncontaminated,
wholly anointed God ordain blood blood, and through the power
of his authority over the universe, said that anybody that

clinged this blood, his blood would be washed in it
and would be like unto the Jews themselves, and could
then say that Abraham is your father, even though you're
a Hamite, that Abraham is your father, even though you're
a Jayphith, by the power of the blood. Now, that

was the plan of heaven. That is the plan of heaven.
That's why I'm talking to you. That's why you and
I are brothers, because of the blood of Jesus has
made us brothers with the Jews, namely brother with the
Japith people. And so the Muslims didn't get included in that.

They got excluded. Now listen, it's very carefully. Muslims were
not included. The Muslims were not included in the Blood
of Jesus as Ishmael. As Ishmael was not included or

given the blessing of Abraham at the well by the
Angel of God, unto his mother Hagar. The Muslims have
never been included in the blessing of the Blood of Jesus.
The blood of Jesus did not include the Muslims, for

they were eternally cursed. We were better as slaves, both
jew and Hemites, than the Muslims who were not included
in the blood of Jesus. So one of the things
that you have to be mindful of, and the thing
that that's very critical today, is that if you've been

washed in the blood the Jew is your brother, you're
just as much his brother as his brother born of
his mother. If you've been washed in the blood of
a Jew named Jesus, who by his authority gave the
blood that ran down Calvary's cross, God Almighty gave that
blood the authority to make you the brother to a

Jew if you're a Hamite, and we need to teach that,
we need to spread that word, we need to make
that clear. But also that same blood that ran down Calvary,
that Jesus shed, that same blood that Jesus shed make

the Hemite and the jayfer brother brothers the same as
their brothers to the Jew. So you got all three
of these brothers who were brothers and connected by the blood,
understanding that only there was only one blessing. God only
gives out one blessing. One prophet per planet, per generation.

gave it to Isaac, and Isaac gave it to Jacob annoyingly.
So that's same that blood. That the beauty of what
Jesus came to do was not to have us running

I've been talking to the Lord about that. But that
was the purpose he came to shed his blood. The
purpose of Jesus coming out of the power of the
throne of the universe was simply to spill his blood

so that I could be washed in that blood. That
make me a blood brother to the Jew, and makes

Trump showed all of the signs of a heavy cocaine user.

pounds of cocaine. That's a lot of cocaine gone gone.
This president of Hoduras, he went to trial in the
Southern District here in New York. He was convicted of
cocaine traffling. I mean, the president of and Duras convicted
of cocaine, cocaine traffling. He was sistance of forty five years.

The judge said, I'm gonna give you enough time, so
you die in jail, forty five years in prison. Trump's
gonna pardon them after bringing eight hundred thousand pounds of
cocaine into America. And so they're shooting these boats down
there off of the coast of Venezuela, saying that these
boats I mean, I mean, I mean, first time one

boat gets shot down, I would think most criminals say hey,
let's stay out the waters. That's let's either use a
submarine or airplate or something. They have shot down. I'm
how many boats that shot down. Maybe twenty moosts eighty
people that did maybe less than twenty boats. I think
ten boats, and so I would figure that most criminals

have enough sense to stay out the waters, and they're
just shooting them down. They're not they're present, they're not
presenting any proof that these boats are carrying cocaine and
not proof that the narcotic traffickers. So on the second
of September, they shot down a boat and it was

motor on one of these boats, you know, on the
back of the boat. There wasn't a big ship anything,
so all the boat didn't sink, so that two of
the men was hanging on to the side of the boat.
And they say that Pete Hecsack, who was the Secretary
of War, when they heard about it by looking at
a drone that was checking it out, said Pete Hecseck,
gave the order to kill the two men even though
they were helping. They were just hanging on. They wore

shipwrecked as see killed them anyway. So now there's a
big hull of blue going on down there in the
Senate Washington, and the Senate and in the House Representative
that they won't have the hearings to find out because
that's definitely a wall crime, if not murder. The rules
of war, if there can be such a thing, states
that you cat kill people that are unarmed and do

not present an immediate threat. And these men were hanging
on for dear life, and Pete Hexa gave the order
to nuke him anyway, sent a bomb down, a big
bomb that costs maybe I don't know, forty fifty thousand

could be the Speaker of the House for the next

resigned and a bunch of other Republicans resigned, then HARKing
Jeffers are have the gabble because they'll have the majority
and they're gonna start investigations to impeach Trump up the wazoo,

and that's what he looks like is the only way

trying to get as much money as he possibly can

for the governor of the state of New York. And

that's what Kathy Hockel failed to do. She has bent
the knee. She propelled him, and when you look at
his election outcome, this is not someone who has a mandate. Traditionally,

a Democrat running from mayor gets seventy percent of the vote.
He barely got over fifty percent. So traditional Democrats voted no.
They voted no on mom Dami's radical far left takeover,
and they're going to vote no on Kathy Hochel who
elevated him.

going to need allbany behind a lot of these things.
He's going to need the governor, potentially you to sign
off on. You cannot do these things from Gracie manager.
You cannot do these things from a mayoral position. With
that being said, would you be somewhat of a checks
and balances on if you did move forward on Zora
mom Donni when it comes to taxes, can you speak
to that.

I would be the only check on Zora Mamdami, because
ultimately Kathy Hokel will bend the knee, just like she
endorsed him. Within twenty four hours from Mom Dommi supporters
heckling Kathy Hokel saying tax the rich, tax the rich.
She said she was opened to raising taxes. Kathy Hochl
herself has a record of raising taxes. When the last
election cycle she said she wasn't going to put into

place the commuter tax through congestion pricing one, and then
she raised taxes on hard working New Yorkers, which is
crushing them, making the city even more unaffordable. I'm the
only candidate in this race who has a record of
delivering tax cuts. I delivered the largest middle class tax

of heaven. I thought about the Apostles, most of whom

Pastor Joel is a good man. He helps a lot
of people, does he or does he help them feel
good while keeping them right where they are? There's a difference, Chuck.

story because I think there's something important here for Christians,
real Christians to understand. And I say real Christians not
to be judgmental, but to distinguish between people who are
genuinely trying to follow Jesus and people who are just
looking for a religious justification for the American dream. Here's
my advice, and take it or leave it. First, question
everything Jesus said to test the spirits. Paul told the

Brians to examine everything carefully. If someone is teaching you
something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If someone is promising you health, wealth and happiness just
for believing the right things and giving enough money, they're
not teaching Christianity. They're teaching capitalism with a Jesus sticker
on it. Second, read your Bible. Actually read it, not

just the highlighted verses that make you feel good, but
all of it. Read about Jesus telling people to sell
what they have and give to the poor. Read about
the early church sharing everything in common. Read about Paul
working with his hands to support himself while preaching. Read
about the Apostles being beaten, imprisoned, and killed.

That's the real story of Christianity, not this sanitized, commercialized
version we're being sold. Third, look at the fruit. Jesus
said you'd know people by their fruit. So look at
what these megachurch pastors produce. Are they producing humble, sacrificial
disciples who care for the poor and marginalized, or are
they producing consumers who think God exists to make them comfortable.

Are they building the kingdom of God or building their
own kingdoms? Fourth, remember what church is supposed to be.
It's not supposed to be an entertainment venue. It's not
supposed to be a motivational seminar. It's supposed to be
a community of believers who gathered to worship God, to
encourage one another, to serve those in need, and to
hold each other accountable. When church becomes a production, something
(01:51:05):
essential is lost. And finally, don't confuse prosperity with God's blessing. Yes,
God wants good things for you, but sometimes the best
things aren't comfortable. Sometimes God's blessing looks like hardship that
builds character. Sometimes it looks like sacrifice that produces wisdom.
Sometimes it looks like suffering that deepens faith. The idea
that God's favor always equals material success is not only wrong,
(01:51:29):
it's dangerous. It makes people who are struggling feel like
they're doing something wrong, like God is disappointed in them.
And it makes wealthy people feel justified in their wealth,
no matter how they got it or what they do
with it. I'm an old man now. I've made a
lot of movies, I met a lot of people, seen
a lot of things, and I can tell you this,
The people I respect most aren't the ones with the
(01:51:49):
biggest houses or the most successful careers. They're the ones
who've lived with integrity, who sacrifice for others, who stayed
true to their principles even when it costs themselves. That's
the kind of Christianity I can respect. Not this sanitized, commercialized,
prosperity focused version that's being peddled in stadiums across America.

Not this faith that asks nothing of you except to believe,
to be positive, and to give money. Real faith costs something,
it demands something. It changes you. And if your church
isn't challenging you, if your pastor isn't making you uncomfortable sometimes,
if your faith is all about feeling good and being blessed,
then maybe it's time to ask the question I asked

place of worship? Because the answer matters more than you
might think.

I do want to say this that I met, I met,
