GOD's Rainbow of Hope By: CINDY Boling Clark

This book started after my precious sweet Christian mother passed away as I was holding her hand looking in her eyes singing, I'll Fly away". I want this book to honor my mother who was just like the virtuous woman from Proverbs 31. I asked several friends and family to add to it with their hard times they went through with how faith in God helped them through it. After each chapter there are the Bible verses that helped them through these hard times and thought questions.
I almost stopped writing this book because of the deep grief of losing my mother until Covid hit and the pandemic starting the year 2018. It was during this time that a lady from Church encouraged me to write some devotionals by email to the ladies Bible class from Church, and I did. Some of those Bible devotionals are in this book too. I give God the credit for this book and the other two books because the devotionals and words just come. I can hardly spell at times and don't really like reading except the Bible. So like Esther in the Bible this is not what I thought I would be doing. But I love writing about the love of God and how He blesses me even through the hard times now. This book has been a blessing for me as well as others from the hard times I went through with God carrying me and planning my life out different then I ever dreamed of.
My prayer is that this book will bring you close to God and for you to see His love and have more faith in Him when you're going through hard times. If you doubt God or don't believe in Him, my prayer is that you do after reading this book with all of the encouraging Bible verses!

(00:00):
Welcome back to the Mark Howard Show. I'm very excited today because I have
a special guest. Findy Clark iswith me today. Cindy, thank you
for being here. Thank you forhaving me Mark absolutely and so Cindy,
You've just got a new book published, and I'm super excited today to talk

(00:20):
about it and to share with ourlisteners about your book. So let's do
this. Let's just start off.Why don't you tell us the title of
the book, tell us what inspiredyou to write it, and just kind
of tell us a little bit aboutit. Okay, it's Calm, God's
Rainbow Hope. And what inspired meis as my mom had passed away,
I started writing about my grief andeverything, and I decided I wanted this

(00:44):
to be in honor of her andto keep her vegasy alive the things that
she taught me about, you know, loving God and keep faith in Him
no matter what in life. Andthen what's started the title of the book
is, one day after my mamapassed, I was out shopping and there

(01:07):
was a bunch of people that wererunning to a window. I think it
was like a big lot store orsomething like that, and they were all
excited and it was because of adouble rainbow. And I thought, oh,
that would be a great title formy book, God's Rainbow of Hope
because you know, just watching howpeople felt about that, you know,

(01:30):
I know he put that rainbow in, you know, to tell us there
would be no more flood over allof the earth. But still to me,
the rainbow means hope. So God'sRainbow Hope. I love that.
So tell us a little bit abouthow the books formatted, like another three
different sections of the book and threedifferent things we're going to find in the
book. So can you tell usa little bit about that. Sure,

(01:52):
I decided, daring my grief thatI would also think about, you know,
my friends and family how they havemade it through hard times, and
let them write about, you know, how they made it through hard times,
their favorite bibble verses that help themthrough. And then when I started
reading Theirs, it helped me throughmy grief and hard times because I didn't

(02:16):
you know, I didn't really itwasn't close to my friends during this time
because I was so into my griefthat once I started reading about Theirs,
it helped me realize we need eachother and you know, you're not by
yourself and your grief or your hardships, that there are others around you that

(02:36):
you can help during that time, and that God is always thinkful. Yeah,
that is so powerful. So anybodylistening right now that maybe you're going
through something some grief right now andyou feel like and I know sometimes when
we do that, we kind ofpull back from our friends or family or
you know, because of the griefwe want, we feel like we need

(02:58):
to be alone into grief. Butman, to be able to understand that
other people have, you know, gone through what we've gone through, they
have greed, and to be ableto hear those stories or read those stories
in your book, what how encouragingthat is? So thank you for getting
them to help write and to sharethat. So that was that was one

(03:20):
part of it. Yeah, andthen the second part was during COVID pandemic
that I can't say it right, but anyway, during that time I had
writer's block after a while, youknow, I didn't feel like finishing the
book. And it was during thattime that a teacher from church, she

(03:42):
was over a lady's class. Sheencouraged me to start writing devotionals by email,
you know, because we were allhaving to stay in and so then
I started writing again, and soat the end of the book is those
devotionals. I was also writing tomyself during that time on all of this.

(04:03):
You know, I write to people, you know, to encourage them.
I'm also writing to myself because Iwant, you know, I write
about what I want myself to belike to when I'm writing. Absolutely,
now, tell us, and Iknow there's a lot we could We could
take hours and go through the contentsof the book and really just talk about

(04:24):
how great it is. But wedon't have that much time. So tell
me two or three of your favoritechapters and maybe why those stand out.
And I know it's all important toyou, but can you think of maybe
two or three that stand out youcan speak to us all about. I
could say, probably, well, one of my favorite ones is the last
chapter is about my mom, thevirtuous woman. Probably stirty one in the

(04:48):
Bible is about a virtuous woman. And I would say that she pretty much
had all the characters that she wasa stay at home mom. She was
there for me when I I wassick, she made the best food,
you know, meals for us,and she also sewed for us. And
so that's what the Virtuous Woman did. And people pretty much spoke hilly of

(05:12):
my dad and that's what they did, you know, for the Virtuous Woman.
They always spoke holly of her husband. And then because she was an
encouragement to my dad and everything, and the main thing that she did was
teaches the love of God. Everynight we would have Bible study, we
would say praises to God, andwe would pray together every night, even

(05:38):
when my dad was at work. She would read Bible stories to us and
we would pray together in same praisesto God. And so you know,
like I said, I want thatto continue and I would love to see
all families do that. And sothat's one of my favorite chapters is telling
about you know that my mom theVirtuous Woman. Yeah, of course,

(05:59):
an the other ones that you cantalk to us about us, Yeah,
I would have to mix in afew chapters. One is about counting many
blessings your problems that disappear, andabout praising God through hardships. And then
you know, also combined would beyou know, finding signs that God is

(06:19):
with you during this grief. Youknow you can still during you know pain,
grief, whatever you go through, you can still if you look,
you can still see God with youthrough. I mean just looking up at
the stars, looking at the mountains, I mean hearing the birds saying to

(06:41):
you, looking at the flowers thatHe gives us. You know every day
you can, you know, justlook at that, and and you know,
also realize that you know, Jesussuffered, and so he knows what
we're going through and he will helpus through it. I mean, you
know, there different chapters that Iwould have to say, you know that

(07:02):
brought all that out in my bookabsolutely, And I know we've talked a
little bit about this already just throughour conversation. But if someone's listening and
they get your book and they readit, when when they finish the book,
what are some takeaways or something thatyou want them to be able to
get from the book. Well, first of all, to never give up

(07:25):
hope, never give up hope.To never blame God, blame if anything,
blame the devil, because he's theone that's started all this problem in
the first place. And you know, he's the reason we have death.
He's the reason that you know,we have problems because of sin. And
if we're going to blame anybody,We're going to blame him. And you

(07:47):
know, to just never give uphope. And there's always blessings that come
from these hardships. Like you know, the blessing that I had was these
books that came out of you know, hardship and everything. And to always
put God first in to you know, I want to encourage others to study
His word with family and if youhave children, to study His word every

(08:13):
day and just like my mom taughtme, and to you know, praise
God every day and no matter what, you know, what kind of problems,
no matter what kind of problems hemay be going through, he knows
and he will help you through itbecause He's helped me through it. Absolutely.
Now you've had some people read thebook. Matter of fact, there
was a really sweet response from oneof your friends. Can you tell us

(08:35):
a little bit about how this bookimpacted her and how what she said about
the book. Yeah, she gotme permission to mention her name. Her
name is Tammy Thompson. When shefirst read the book, she condacted me
and she said, Cindy, Iwant to buy ten of your books and
I want to give them out topeople and so every month she was buying

(08:58):
ten of my book book giving themout to people. And then she tell
me, you know, one monthshe wanted me to give them out to
people that I thought needed them. And she just said that it helped her
during the hardest time in her life. And she also, you know,
helped pay for me to get itpublished, the book and so and then

(09:20):
she said also that there was oneperson in her life that she sent a
book to she hadn't you know, she did not know that her friend had
lost her husband. And she saidthat friend sending her letter back saying thanking
her for that book, that shekeeps it by her bed every day and
it helped her a lot. AndI give God the credit for this,

(09:43):
I mean, because you know allthe book has, you know, full
of Bible verses of encouragement and everything, and you know He's the one that
you know helps you through through itall. And like I said, I
want this to be the legacy foryou know of my mom, that you
know, that's what you taught me, that God is the one that we
get credit that helps us true allthis. So absolutely we give him the

(10:09):
praise and the glory and the credit. But you know, thank you for
taking the time though to be allowedto be used and to put the book
together. Because trust me, Iknow and a lot of futtle listeners who
have done this have gone through thebook writing process. We know if this
is a this is a process. And so thank you for for heeding to

(10:31):
God's call and putting this together,to share these stories from your friends,
to do the Bible study the verse, put the verses in there, I
mean, because this is going tobe such a blessing for so many people.
So send you. Thanks you somuch for doing that. Can I
tell you one of my favorite verses, yeah, please, yeah, okay.

(10:54):
One of them is Second Crisis one, three three five, and it
tells about how with you know,God's help during hard times, when we
go through hard times, we praisehim in that Bible verse and that with
the same kind of help that Hehas helped us, we can help others.

(11:16):
And you know, I forgot tomention one chapter that how can we
know what happiness is about if wedon't know what sadness is? I mean,
how can we be able to helpsomeone with pain if we haven't been
through pain ourselves. So that oneBible verse has helped me a lot,
along with songs one one My helpcomes from God, who may who exactly

(11:41):
made me heaven and earth. Sothose two verses have helped me a lot
through these struggles. Okay, I'mdone now, that's right. Thank you
so much. Hey, listen,I appreciate you being here tonight and sharing
