the Lions traded wide receiver Tim Patrick to the Jacksonville
Jaguars for a twenty twenty six six round draft pick

to make room for rookie wide receiver Isaac Tesla. I
think that's how it's pronounced. Tesla made ten catches, one
hundred and sixty one hundred and seventy six receiving yards,
three touchdowns in his preseason with the Lions. He was impressive.

He made a Megatron catch and hit one man in
the end zone. Once I saw that live, Wow. Isaac
Tesla has been shining like a breakout rookie more than that,
and that's why Tim Patrick was the odd man out
and Tim Patrick was injury prone. Keep in mind and

the Jaguars. I think both boat teams won won that
trick won that trade, to be honest, there's no loser
in that trade, to be honest, Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jacksonville
Jaguars mat made some had some reasons to trade their
six round draft pick for Tim Patrick. That had made

other moves as well, like a couple of them. But
for the Lions, they made room for Isaac Tesla and
he's officially a part of the roster. Number eighteen. I
think he's eighteen years old old. He's from Arkansas, but
he's a phenom. So i'mon. Ross, Saint Brown and Jamison

Williams all have help, all have they have help in
the wide receiver the wide receiving department. So pep so uh.
Moving on to some practice squad editions they were who

are waved before. Offensive tackle Dan Skipper, who a lot
of Lions fans uh have been have known for reporting
as eligible as an eligible receiver. Defensive lineman Miles Adams,
offensive lineman Tristan Cologne, wide receiver Tom Kennedy who has

been placed on the practice squad multiple times in the past.
Linebacker Anthony Pittman the same thing. Defensive and slash ed
Rodger Isaac and safety Laurence Strickland. Yeah, those are all
you know, practice those are all practice squad players. Of course.

Frank ragnow retired, of course that that's been it. Uh.
Taylor Deckers out out there, pen still out there along
with Penna Sewell, grand Graham Glasgow. His his lower leg

injury hit is not leg is not long term. So
he's gonna he's a center offensive guard too, but he's
going to be back sooner, a lot sooner than Lions
fans may think. But he's but special teams special teams
re Turner. Ezekiel Turner suffered a possible torn achilles ten

and could miss the entire season. That's that's a significant
blow right there. But that being said, the Lions named
Kyle Allen a backup quarterback and cut quarterback Hendon Hooker.

Of course Dan Skipper was in there, but he was
put on the practice squad. As I mentioned before, hen
and Hooker completed only fifty five percent of its passes,
zero touchdowns, three interceptions, and two lost fumbles. Man just
hen and Hooker just fell flat apart this this past preseason,

he did Kyle Allen. Kyle Allen proved a lot better
through it through two through at least two touchdowns to
testla uh. Of course, in those preseason games, of course,
they Dan Campbell wanted to try out both quarterbacks, of course,

just just try out scrimmage games something like that. That's
why those preseason games. That's because that's because preseason games
don't count. So Kyle Allen's going to be the number
the backup quarterback behind Jared Goff and for the record,

head and Hooker signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers.
Kyle Allen won the backup quarterback job hands down. Speaking
of which, trending truth, the Michigan Wolverines football program is
named true freshman Bryce Underwood as our number one quarterback,

the fourth true freshman to become a starting quarterback. Now,
the Wolverines they've lost Mason Graham, Kennick Grant, and Josiah Stewart.
They're still looking to contend. But how are they going
to contend for a Big Ten title and a College
Football Playoff title without those three guys They've already draft
been drafted by NFL teams Grant, Graham, and Stuart. So

let me scour. Let me scour. This article from Tony
Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press. The offense had
had its fewest yards per game since nineteen sixty three.
Last year returned sixty five percent of its production After

the losses of tight end Colston Levelin and running backs
Khalil Mullings and Donovan Edwards, and wide receiver Tyler Morris.
The goal is to add explosiveness. U of M had

under what, it's a team, the team, the team, the team.
Michigan of course new additions and running back Haynes and

wide receiver Donovan McCully and India, a transfer from Indiana
who are perhaps more dynamic than anybody Michigan had a
season ago. The Wolverines were limited on offense in twenty

twenty four, but the analyst noted it was in large
part because of the quarterbacks inability to push the ball
down the field, whether it be Davis Warren, Jack Tuttle
or Alex orgy that all three quarterbacks had no shot
based on their analytics. They just didn't have what it

takes to win games. They didn't. Their defense finished strong
after a very slow start under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.
Of course, they're thirteen thirteen to ten winning Columbus in

the game over the Ohio State Buckeyes. That was a
big upset. Michigan Camp went into Columbus at six and five.
Ohio State went in undefeated. The Buckeyes lost that game.
Yet they still yet, they still won the College Football
Playoff National Championship. It's a topsy turvy regular season slash postseason.

It's a topsy every season competition. For God's sake, anything
can happen. And Martin Martindale called J. R. Hill the
team's number one corner and said the room he may
be the most excited about on the entire unit is

linebacker at corner back, not quarterback, but corner meaning the
defensive backs, safeties and corners. You know, the secondary receiving defense. Yeah,
the receiving defense is the last line of defense. Uh.

What's Haines's first name again? Captain Max Bredson. That Max
Bredson is one of the team captains Justice Justice Haynes,
the running back who transferred in from Alabama. The Crimson
Tide have already they've already noticed the growth Max Bredson.

So yeah, that, yeah, that's all I That's all I
needed to find. Chip Lindsay is the new offensive coordinator
for the Michigan Wolverines the Mazing Blue of course, so
it'll be interesting to see how Underwood and Chip Lindsay
can work together as an as an entire offensive unit,

to lead the entire offensive unit. And then you got
the Michigan State Spartans and Chiles in practice. In one
practice through a fifty fifty yard touchdown pass to wide
receiver Nick Marsh. That was impressive. Well, Chiles thrown many

deep passes to Marsh before. In the last one or
two regular seasons, Spartans again struggled under first year head
coach Jonathan Smith. He's entering his second year. Of course,

the Spartans their kickoff, their kickoff team, and their place
kicking team. Rather, they have new kickers on the team
to replace Jonathan kim Kerrek. I'm at basic as a
walk on from Clinton Township. He's a game time decision

(13:45):
for the Friday night game on FS one in Spartan
Stadium in the East landing against the Western Michigan Broncos
from the Mid American Conference. Red Shirt freshman Martin Connington,
who is a scholarship kicker, remains a week or two away.
According to head coach Jonathan Smith, quote unquote, also got

fifth year senior and walk on from Dexter Blake Sislow,
who played his previous three season seasons with Davenport. He
has an opportunity. He has an opportunity to make his
NCAA Division One debut. Davenport Division two was Division two.
Davenport is Division two, so Cislo is entering Division one.

All three kickers are looking to replace previous number one
kicker Jonathan Kim from twenty to twenty four to become
the number one place kicker field goals and kickoffs. This
and that plenty in misdirection, of course. The article from

what was that? The biggest takeaway? No matter what program,
no matter what level college football coaches, no one cameras
are at their practices that are that aren't under their control.
Jonathan Smith and his staff show they are no different.
Very little offense versus defense work was shown other than
other than a couple quick and vague snippets, most of

what aired was individual position drill work, similar to what
is presented during MSU's once a week media availability during
camp for local reporters and photographers in August to observe
and record. And though it appeared that some of the
Spartans who are not in those open portions of preseason
camp had returned to the field, it became far murkier

to judge based on jersey numbers why. In one clip,
three running backs were number four on their jerseys and
another two offensive linemen with wearying number wearrying the number
seventy two on their jersey on the backs of their
jersey fronts and backs of their jerseys. An offensive player
wearing number eighty six ran ran pass a route, ran

a pass route against what appeared to be an upper
depth chart defensive to be upper depth chart defensive backs.
The only number eighty six on the roster is walk
on kicker Blake CISLa as i as I mentioned before,
and the guy in the number twelve green jersey among

Feeling the only offensive player on the roster who wears
that number, so someone else must have warn him. Jack

what I can tell from ringing this article, though there
clearly was some masquerading from the camp for the cameras,

working smarter on trying to to try to at least
limit turnovers on the field, taking better care of the football,
securing the ball better, you know, m hm. So Smith's

transfer port Jonathan Smith's transfer portal auditions in the secondary
will give ms U an immediate boost in man coverage
and far more depth from the year ago. He said.
It will be up to defensive coordinator Joe Rossi to
scheme up front to generate more pressure, more pressures and sacks,

adding that there isn't a quote startup, star studded, elite
guy coming off the edge unquote. So yeah, you get
the offense. Of course, the offense has to start working
on limiting turnovers and the defense, of course, the pass rush,

the defensive line. They have to bring more pressure, like
more in more snaps than often so will so they
got they got lots to do, lots of work to

agitates me and Colt Keith. He committed an air, but
he only has six. But thankfully that didn't and thankfully
that didn't amount at any runs. Thank god. Charlie Martin

gave up five or five runs. Terrek Scooball gave up
a Grand Slam, but was very limited in earned runs.
In earn runs allow one or two. I don't care.
Let me look it up first. Let me look up
Terrek Scouble's lying from Monday Nights eight to three debacle

box score schoobl one or run just one. His era
is still stuck at two twenty eight, twelve twelve strikeouts.
He took the loss. He's eleven and four, six and
two thirds, inning seven hits. Of course he can. Of

course he can still pitch a lot better than that.
He's lucky to have his era remained look as low
as two twenty eight because the Tigers defense still can't
freaking field the ball, field the baseball. It's concerning, it's

critique and concise. If you can't handle it, don't even Yeah,
Cold Keith is learning thread. I think he's doing fine. He's,
like I pointed out, he's only committed six airs. My
issues with Zach mckinsry's defense, he's got twelve he's committed.
McK hissary has committed three airs in his last two games.

Like I mentioned before, Thank you Steven Bauer. Zach McKinstry
can hit and he can run very damn fast, except
he's not smart on the base pass is but mckinstrey's defense,
he needs to start picking the ball cleaner than that.

The team cannot afford to. Yeah, McKinstry is overrated on defense.
At least McKinstry does have a bat, and he can
he's got wheels, but he's got to be smarter on
the base pass and he's got to field the ball better.
