TikTok at Michigan Underscore Truth, and like its Facebook page
and know the truth. Oh my goodness, Wow, Smoke's bowling
go What a win? What a high scoring win for

(01:05):
the Lions? Huh Taylor Phillips here, of course, man oh man.
Forget the disclaimer. Okay, forget the disclaimer. Let's just get
to it right now. The Lions demolish the Chicago Bears

(01:27):
fifty two to twenty one in their home opener at
Ford Field. The Wolverines bulldoze the Chippewas sixty three to three,
and the Spartans take care of Youngstown State forty one
to twenty four of course, let's take a look at
those lions, shall we? As we uh share the screen

(01:55):
keeps sacking the wrong damn thing. Much better game from
the offensive line especially, Communication was key, like they said,
and they communicated a lot more and a lot better.
And guess what pay dividends Jered got as a result.
Jered off twenty three to twenty eight, three hundred and

(02:18):
thirty four passing yards, five touchdowns, zero interceptions, Jamier Gibbs
and David Montgomery a touchdown each, twenty three carries combined
for one hundred and fifty one yards combined. Of course,
aman Ross Saint Brown three touchdowns, nine catches for one

(02:40):
hundred and fifteen yards. Isaac Teslad just one target, a
twenty nine yard catch out of bounds which stopped the
clock at sixteen seconds. It was then it was a
ten second runoff which took the clock. That was took

(03:02):
the game clock down to six seconds left, and then
they took advantage with a touchdown. Of course, brock right
also with a catch, Jamison Williams with a with a
cup with a touchdown catch. Yeah, that was it. Brian

(03:22):
Branch six tackles, one sack, won it, one forced fumble,
Kirby Joseph one interception. Khalif Raymond got in a little

(03:45):
bit of action. Jake Bates uh one for two. He
missed from fifty five yards out, but I think he
hooked it. I think he lost a little bit of focus,
but he nailed a thirty four yarder. Jack Fox with
a sixty two yard long punt. Wow. Of course, Aidan

(04:13):
Hutchinson was one of those four sacks. Al kadinha Al
Kadin Muhammad, Brian Branch and Marcus Davenport got hurt in
the process. He walked off. He was jogging off on
his own, shogging off the field on his own power.
It was just still a little bit of a Showler issue.
We'll have to He's going to get tested, but it's

(04:36):
not a severe it's not nearly I don't think it's
nearly severe as his his season ending injury from last year.
The Lions have the Baltimore Ravens next off, but communication
was key again. They'll just have to keep communicating when

(05:00):
they head to Baltimore. That's that's on next that's a
week from tomorrow on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Ravens are
usually good at home. The Ravens clomber the clamber the
Lions in their last meeting at Baltimore, I was like,

(05:22):
get it was like forty one to six, I think,
But this, uh, this should be an interesting If the
Lions could keep communicating, then this could get at least

(05:43):
a little bit interesting no matter who wins this thing.
So we'll keep you updated on I'll keep you updated
on social media. On the injury report, Brian Branch of course, Uh,
just a cramp. Marcus Davenport with a shoulder injury. Shane

(06:05):
zelstret tight end let the game, but not needed. Not
needed anyway, Lions will have to keep this up. They
face on They face Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry Z Flowers,

(06:26):
nom the not Duke Bouquet and brokwant Smith and the
rest of the Baltimore Raymonds next Monday at eight fifteen
on ABC. Ravens are I think the Ravens are plus
one where that schedule mhmm yeah. Abs he in ESPN

(07:04):
right there. And then they're home against Cleveland two two
weeks from today at one one o'clock on Fox. That's
at Fordfield. The Browns are trash. The Lion should score
at least sixty points on them, and then you got
the Wolverines Michigan numbers then number twenty three, now number

(07:28):
twenty one, all just all over Central Michigan, way too much,
sixty three to three. What's the final of that one?
As I had take another swig of my ANW zero
sugar ice cream Sunday tastes really good, even without the

(07:48):
even without the sugar. Bryce Underwood sixteen and twenty five
two hundred and thirty five yards. Bryce also nine carries
on fourteen yards, just as haines a touchdown on fourteen
carries one hundred and four some I more goan to
touchdown four just four catches sixty nine yards. M hm.

(08:19):
Just just a much better game than than at Oklahoma
and on Oklahoma on Week two. Michigan is at Nebraska
in their next game, that is the upcoming Saturday at
three thirty on CBS. Let's check let's check them out.

(08:46):
Oh gosh, that's even forty nine point seven percent say
on ESPN dot com state Michigan will win. Fifty point
three percent say Nebraska will win. Also got Dylan Rayola
seventy two of ninety four for eight touchdowns. EMMITTT. Johnson

(09:08):
fifty two carries for four touchdowns thus far, Dane Key
as their top receiver thirteen receptions for three touchdowns. Also
on defense, Marquis Watson Trent at linebacker and Deshaun Singleton
a defensive back in the secondary. So Michigan is a

(09:37):
two and a half point favorite. Oh yeah, that's right.
Baltimore's a Baltimore's plus one, Ravens one and one. Lions
own Lions one on one. I almost forget about that.

(10:05):
So not much, not much as sea there for Michigan
against CMU, but a lot of it Michigan and Nebraska.
Nebraska is three and oh still not in the top
twenty five, Michigan number twenty one. This is a very
interesting matchup. So again it's about communications, same thing with

(10:28):
the Lions and Michigan. Of course. Michigan State staying undefeated
with a forty one to twenty four win over Youngstown
State eight in Childs twenty two and twenty nine, an interception,
a touchdown, two hundred seventy two hundred seventy passing yards

(10:49):
plus eight carries in seventy six, Nick marsh six catches
for ninety four, Elijah Toal Tolliver with a touchdown Brandon
Tullis and mckeeth Frasier and Ronnie Bullard Junior also with touchdowns,

(11:10):
also with a touchdown each, and Michael Massonis just one,
just one catch for twenty eight yards and a touchdown.
Youngstown State is not a joke though, unlike CMU. And

(11:38):
then when we got the Spartans at USC at eleven
PM on Fox, usc is number twenty five. I got
that game recorded. The Trojans are are a fifteen and
a half point favorite. Usc is gonna win this one

(11:58):
ninety five. Say they do four points, say Michigan State
because they're getting too cocky. Jaden Mayeva Maiva Mayava n
nine passing yards wow total Wow. Wayman Jordan two hundred

(12:23):
and eighty six rushing yards, Mackay Lemon three hundred and
eleven receiving, Eric Gentry with three sacks thus far and
twenty one tackles total. So he's uh, he's been uh yeah,
watch out for him. This. This may not even be

(12:48):
worth recording for me, of course. And then you got
the Tigers beating the Marlins two nothing. Marlin Marlin's made
three airs yeah the uh yeah, Colt Keiths single and
then three airs Wow, kinder Montero, no walks, three, just

(13:13):
three hits allowed, five innings, pitch five in five strikeouts,
four thirty two e Ra Jose equity and then again
a third two hits, one walk, two strikeouts. It's not bad.
Triples z O e ra a first strike, first two
strikeouts as a Tiger, Tommy Canley just to hit in
inning and two thirds and that was it. Will best.

(13:36):
I got himself in a bit of a jam, but
uh got the strikeout end the game. Tigers improved at
eighty five and sixty five, thirty nine and thirty six,
one of the best. I guess it's one of the
best away away records, rest the best road records in

(13:59):
the American League. But still just three games above five hundred.
That could be a lot better. That could still be
a lot better. Still lots to clean up. And then
he got the Cleveland Guardians taking care of the Chicago
White Sox three to two at Progressive Field right over here.

(14:28):
So the Tigers and Guardians are still six and a
half games apart. The Tigers are in the league of
courts in the American League Central Division. Tigers in our
Tigers Tribune, of course, trying to put the Guardians away,

(14:56):
they can sweep them to clinch the division. As you
can do the math right here, there are differentials between
run scores, run scored and runs allowed as plus ninety five.
That's still good, still a lot again, still lots to

(15:17):
clean up. But the Tigers can still find ways to
win against the Guardians. If they sweep them, the division's
over period and vice versa. So with that being said, HM,

(15:43):
this is just a recap, so know what we've learned
segment here. So that's it for the mission. That's it
for another episode. Oh the Michigan Sports Truth Podcast. I'm
Taylor Phillips. Except what we've learned, of course, communication is
key for the Lions and for the Michigan Wolverines. Of course,

(16:10):
just got to keep communicating. The more communication, the better,
no matter who you play, whether it's at home or
on the road. They held themselves accountable after their wal
their twenty seven to thirteen laws at Green Bay in
week one against the Packers, and guess what communication pay dividends?

(16:31):
At Ford fielded up fifty two to twenty one win
over the Bears. So that's what we've learned. That's That's
another episode of the Michigan Sports Truth Podcast I'm Taylor Phillips.
