and know the truth. Well, well, well, history has finally

(00:55):
been made. I'm Taylor Phillips, your Michigan Sports Truth Detective.
Of course, we're going to recap the Lions beating the
Ravens on the road first time for everything right. Also
preview the Lions next game at Ford Field against the
Cleveland Browns, and then dissect into the Tigers blowing their

(01:19):
fifteen and a half game lead to the Cleveland Guardians
and the American League Central Division standings. Not much to
say there, but first of all, artist claimer. If you
can't handle any news stats, research or criticism regarding any
of our teams, then stay completely away from the show,
let alone its comments section at all times. So with

(01:43):
that being said, the Lions finally beat the Baltimore Ravens
on the road for the first time in history. Thirty
eight to thirty was the final score. Almost no one
thought it would ever happen or predicted it to occur
because the Lions. I've had so much trouble against the
Ravens on the road and I've never beaten them on

(02:05):
the road Prior to that contest. Both offenses were clicking,
especially in the second half. And I'm going to open
this up on ESPN dot com. Of course the Lions.
I'm going to share the screen right about now as

(02:35):
we check out the box score. First off, David Montgomery
one hundred and fifty one yard rushing a new career high,
huh thirteen receivings, so that's one hundred and sixty four
total yards. Jared Goff twenty eight two hundred two passing yards.

(02:56):
But Montgomery and Gibbs two touchdowns each. Wow, the Lions
have done very very very very very well. When Montgomery
and gives each score at least one touchdown, of course,
gives twenty two carries just sixty seven yards. A'm and

(03:17):
ross Saint Brown a touchdown on seven catches for seventy
seven receiving yards, but his touchdown was key tied up
the game at twenty one early in the third quarter.
The Lions turned their defense in the second half as well,

(03:39):
although that wasn't easy seven sacks thirty total pressures limiting
Lamar Jackson did just two hundred and eighty eight passing
yards twenty one of twenty seven three touchdown passes, two
of them to Mark Andrews and Rashot and the other
to were shot Bateman Derrick Henry a touchdown, but also

(04:01):
a lost fumble caused by Aiden Hutchinson recovered by Jaden Reid.
When the Lions had had a one score lead, had
a twenty eight to twenty four lead, they settled for
a field goal, but the Lions got the somehow got
the ball back, keeping the Ravens off the board came.

(04:28):
They also came up with a fourth down stand on
a strip sack by linebacker Jack Campbell. Of course, great
conversion on fourth and two in crunch time under the
two minute warning on a play action pass from Jared
Goff to Amen Ross Saint Brown before David Montgomery took

(04:49):
it all the rest of the way for an insurance touchdown,
which is which is a second of two touchdowns. As
I mentioned before, UH, just mental mistakes. The only mental
mistakes is just too many wide receivers left open yet again,
two missed interceptions by the secondary receiving defense of course,

(05:13):
Terry on Arnold just two, just three total tackles, only
one pass defended by Brian Branch at Brian Branch won
by DJ Reid. Both of them were dropped that both
of them and both of them they both dropped what

(05:34):
could have been interceptions. And then he got the injury reports.
Steel and voci let the left the game with a
groin injury, of course, but Alex Anceeloni a half a sack,
al Kady Mohammad two and a half sacks, he was

(05:55):
stepping up, but he didn't practice. Ay though, as we
UH go to go to Detroit Lions dot com for
the UH practice report. Yeah see on Baki a groin injury,

(06:16):
no practice, Alcading Muhammed a knee injury, no practice. So
that's a little uh mm hmm, that's a little bit
critical mm hm hm, but really just a big statement

(06:48):
win by those Lions. So they improved it to in
one and then they got the Cleveland Browns of course

(07:11):
coming into Ford Field in week four mm hmm Sunding
at one on Fox. So the the Lions are eight
and a half point favorites. The Browns point differential is

(07:33):
minus twenty two pet uh. The Browns are coming off
a thirteen to ten win at home over the Green
Bay Packers. They were down, the Packers led tend nothing

(07:56):
to start the game. Andre Smidt with a fifty five
yard field goal to win the game as time expired
for the Browns time and possession. Brown's offense time of
possession was only twenty five minutes forty six seconds. The line. Yeah,
so the one of the keys to the game is

(08:17):
constantly contained and rush Joe Flacco, who is aged forty,
a veteran. A veteran. He's filling in for Deshaun Watson,
who was out for a long time with an achilles injury,
and replacing Baker Mayfield, who was already the starting quarterback

(08:38):
for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Flacco has thrown seventy seven
one hundred twenty six out of one hundred and twenty
six yard complete passes for six hundred and thirty one
total passing yards to just two touchdowns four interceptions. Oh Man,

(09:00):
But the brown The Browns have many other good starter
good starting players, of course, starting with the offense, guards
Wyatt Teller and Joe Beatonio, lead running back rookie Quinn
Sean Judkins, tight ends David and Joku and rookie Ronnie Hickman,

(09:24):
and receivers Jerry Judy familiar name. Another familiar name is
Cedric Tillman, Isaiah Bond, and Jamari Thrash who all run
very fast. So so the defense is it's gonna have

(09:48):
to like step on step on their toes. Uh, the
defense is gonna have to be on their toes sixty minutes.
So the now from what I from what I just
recently read on X, the Lions are gonna send quarterback

(10:08):
a Meet Robbins, a Meek Robertson to help tarry On
Arnold at corner to try to uh try to cover
cover those receivers man and man coverage. And then on
defense for the Browns, you got all pro ed rusher

(10:30):
Miles Garrett. Of course, and edge rusher Isaiah McGuire, who
is replacing Zadaria Smith who got traded in the Lions.
Smith is with the Eagles now, by the way. But
back to the Browns defense linebacker's rookie Carson Schwessinger, sweat
uh Carson Schwesesinger and former Wolverine Devin Bush junior defensive
lineman former Wolverine Mason Graham, and MALIEE. Collins. Collins has

(10:55):
recorded five sacks in each of the previous two seasons,
and then he got defensive backs Denzel Ward, Greg Newsom junior,
another familiar name in Grant Delpit, all led by defensive
coordinator and former Lions head coach Jim Schwartz, very familiar
name now, and the defensive unit has only allowed twenty

(11:21):
point three points per game thus far this season and
held the Packers to just two hundred thirty yards total
in the thirteen to ten win in Cleveland against Green Bay.
The Browns one of their two losses was an ugly

(11:42):
one in Baltimore forty one to seventeen to the Ravens.
Week one, they only lost by one point seventeen to
sixteen at home against the At home to the Cincinnati
Bengals Battle of Ohio of course, so better man coverage
as well, plus stop the run beard the defense. One

(12:09):
key one one other key for the defense is to
is uh keep up as fast as you can with
the Browns offensive unit because like I said before, like
I pointed out before, m all all those running backs

(12:36):
and receivers they can they can all run really fast.
For the Brownies. Browns are one and two third in
the AFC North. That that's nothing, but they have. They
have a really good defense plus a very fast, very fat,
an offensive unit full of very fast player players that

(12:58):
they can run really really fast. But Joe Flacco is
aged forty, so that that could be an achilles hell
for them for the Browns. Something that the Lions can
try to take advantage of with starting with their defensive front.
Aiden Hutchinson leaning the way. Of course, he got a sack,

(13:23):
he got a force fumble, he forced a turnover in Baltimore.
Eighteen straight games with a head, I think, but quite honestly,
Michael Grindham, Michael Grinham, welcome all right on Instagram Live. So,

(13:49):
like I pointed out, the Lions are eight and a
half point favorites. It would have to come down to
uh containing Joe Flacco four interceptions thus far throwing the
first three weeks in the NFL season this Thus far

(14:12):
this season, Jared Goff only just one interception, seven touchdowns
seventy four of ninety five or seven hundred and sixty
one passing yards. So Golf has outmatched Flacco as I

(14:33):
showed you. So the Lions offense is as up statistically
outmatched the Cleveland Browns defense or offense in terms of offenses.

(15:01):
As far as offenses go between those two teams, the
Lions have outmatched the Browns. For one key for Jared
GoF to is to keep scrambling more, try to get
away from Miles Garrett. Plus for the offensive line to
try to keep Garrett and his defensive front away from Golf,

(15:24):
protect Golf even more in the pocket like they did
in Baltimore. The Lions allowed zero sacks in Baltimore while
they're while the Lions defensive front recorded seven seven sacks.
I mentioned that before on thirty total pressures. Wow. So

(15:46):
if I were to predict a winner and final score,
I would say I would say Lions thirty one and
the Browns twenty. So there you go and then and
then he got the h and then let's switch to

(16:08):
the Tigers Tribune. The Tigers blow up fifteen and a
half game lead to the Cleveland Guardians in the American
League Central Division standings. Yeah, yeah, I was a little worried.
But then again, the Tigers offense is terrible. They have
an awful offense, let alone starting lineup, an awful starting
pitching rotation minus Trek Scoble, an awful bullpen of relief

(16:32):
pitchers MIAs Kyle minus Kyle Finnegan and Will Vest. They're
starting to wear that, They're starting to regress a little bit,
but I still think they're good. But the rest of
the the rest of the relief pitcher, the relief the
rest of the relief pitchers Tyler Holden, who's been pitching

(16:55):
lights out thus far, have been awful. Awful defense, way
too many errors committed. A a dumb over loyal manager
in A. J. Hinch who keeps replacing Carrie Carpenter in
some games at the wrong times. A week front office
and team a week front office in team president Scott Harrison,

(17:18):
General manager Jeff Greenberg who completely failed to address the
offense at the trade deadline, for example, and a cheap
skate of an owner in Chris Silich who keeps spending
way more money on stadium re renovations and parking lots,
empty parking lots instead of the products on the field

(17:42):
and on the ice. And even if the two with
the Red Wings, but even if the Tigers do win
the division or somehow make the MLB postseason, they will
get wrong out of it. Let's say they like win
the division. But still even if they wined the division,
whoever they face, it will definitely not be easy for

(18:06):
them to say the least you got the Boston Red Sox,
the Cleveland Guardians, the New York Yankees, the Houston Astros,
the Toronto Blue Jays. The Tigers have very little offense,
if not zero, And if you can't score, you can't win.
I've said this hundreds of times before on my podcast,

(18:28):
on my social on this podcast, on in social media
platforms and everything else. It doesn't matter who you start
on the mound, whether it be Trek Skouber or Jack Flaherty.
The Tigers designated Charlie Morton for assignment Higgin GTFO Chris

(18:50):
Paddock optioned to the bullpen. Well he was dfaight, Charlie
Morton returned to the Braves. So the Tigers have a very,
very small starting rotation. Got a comment here, nineteen strikeouts

(19:12):
last night's last night. That's trash. Of course, that's an
example of why the Tigers offense can't just can't produce.
Zach McKinstry in one at bat, looked at three straight strikes.
I don't care about the Abs coming to Fruition in

(19:32):
the regular season next next year and starting in twenty
twenty six, the Tigers have. The Tigers offense has to
help themselves. Stop relying on the umpiring. Okay, stop conspirat,
stop conspiring. Get your own work freaking done, period Otherwise

(20:02):
otherwise you're done, you're out. So let's get to what
we've learned. The Lions made a humongous and historic statement
win in Baltimore, but we'll have their hands full with
the Browns coming into ford Field. And of course the
Tigers as a whole franchise are awful. It's not worth

(20:24):
even overreacting whatsoever. I'm really sorry. I can't root for
the Tigers anymore unless they until they address the offense
or change ownership. So that's what we've learned in the
Michigan Sports Truth Podcast. I'm Taylor Phillips. Subscribe to its
