(00:53):
Taylor Phillips. Here, you're Michigan Sports Truth Detective. Got to
talk about the Tigers choking away the American League Central
Division lead to the Guardians and settling for the wild card,
plus the Lions taking care of the Cleveland Browns thirty

(01:14):
four to ten. So our disclaimer. If you can't handle
any news, stats, research, or criticism regarding any of our teams,
then stay completely away from the show and its comments
section at all times. Start with our Tigers tributing segment.
The Tigers again a fifteen and a half game lead, relinquished, squandered,

(01:38):
choked away. In the American League Central Division standings, the
Guardians win the division by one game. Tigers loose to
the Red Sox four to three. The Guardians beat the
Rangers in walked off fashion nine to eight. Ah, so

(02:09):
the Tigers settle for the wild Card. Both the Tigers
and Guardians will play each other in the best of
in the entire best of three wild Card series. All
all three games of Progressive Field Game three if necessary.
All three games are are going to start at one

(02:29):
O one o eight Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mm hmmm.
So taking a look at the rest of the regular season,

(02:49):
what went down? Mhm h So we start off with

(03:13):
the loss of the Yankees nine to three. They all
they almost got swept by the Marlins in a three
game series at in Miami. Mm hmm. This one at

(03:40):
lone Depot Park. That one at lone Depot Park. Tigers
went to nothing to sell it a three game series.
When the Guardians came to CA America Park, they swept.
The Guardians completed a three games sweep seven to five,

(04:07):
four to nothing, and three to one. Then the Tigers
got swept by the Braves at America Part ten to one,
six to five, and sixty two. And then the Tigers
almost got swept by the Guardians again five to two
and five to one. The Tigers s Salvage at Fort
Salvage the finale four to two, and then the Tigers

(04:29):
went into Boston, lost two at three, paid paid the price.
They lost four to three and walk off fashion one
two to one Saturday night and then Saturday yet afternoon,
Saturday early evening and then lost four to three because

(04:54):
Chris Paddock. Because Chris Paddock is one of the another
one of those liabilities liabilities in the starting rotation. So

(05:17):
all three Wildcard Series games are will be televised on
ESPN Game three, like I mentioned, if necessary, m h. Yeah,
the Tigers have no chance against the Guardians with a
putrid offense, let alone starting lineup. Yeah. They. Jamia Jones

(05:40):
have been has been the only bright spot thus far
in this lineup. Even Kerry Carpenter has been regressing, Zach
mckinsry has been regressing. Riley Green keeps being a strikeout machine.
Spencer Torkelsen has been a liabilit not only on not

(06:01):
only on offense, but on defense as well. Need I
go on and on. I'm done with this team, I
really am. There's there's no it's not worth getting mad
about anymore. Starting at the it starts at the top

(06:26):
of their cheap skate owner Chris Silich, who they didn't
allow general manager Jeff Greenberg and team president Scott Harris
to address their offense sign big players like Alex Bregman,
Eddie Andio Suarez and whatnot. So yeah, that's the Tigers Tribune.

(06:59):
So the Lions, as we move on. They beat the
Cleveland Browns thirty four to ten at Ford Field. The
Lions defense again allowed a touchdown on the opponent's first
drive of each of the first drive of the game.
Just like it. They've allowed a touchdown on the opponent's

(07:20):
first drive of each of all their games their first
four games now this regular season. That has to stop.
But they but they responded immediately with a touchdown from
Jamier touchdown run from Jamiir Gibbs. I want to share

(07:40):
the screen yet again. Taking a look at the box score.
Turner On Arnold was struggling in the secondary and got
penalized again and again and again, tearing on Arnold six

(08:09):
total tackles, four sacks. A meet Robertson came into play
a meet Robertson just one tackle but one pass broken up,
pass breakup DJ Reid and Brian Branch three pass breakups each.

(08:30):
Alex Anceloni with a pass defense and a quarterback hit.
Ain Hutchinson two sacks, four total tackles, all on the
all on Joe Flacco, DJ Reid A meet. Robertson stepped
up nicely covering their men read with an interception Kirby

(08:51):
Joseph with a cannon corn interception with no receiver in
its vicinity from the Browns veteran quarterback Joe Flacco. The
offense was a bit sluggish, of course, Jared GoF sixteen
to twenty seven, four hundred and sixty eight passing yards
to passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Ian Hutchinson

(09:18):
two sacks at a forced fumble. Jake Bates was two
for two in Veihlgal attempts from forty eight and fifty
eight yards out. That last one was a knuckle curve.

(09:44):
It just hung in there inside that right upright, and
it got through so Jake Bates being Jake Bates right there,

(10:06):
it's something and he's something to watch. Bates is really
As we get to get to the injury report, cornerback
DJ Reid of course left the left the game with
a hamstring injury. Of bad hamstring injury. He'll be out
at least four weeks. It might require an injury stint,

(10:30):
but he will not be out for the season as
a hamstring injury and not an a c L. Thank
goodness for chef Boyardy. Yeah, Terry Arnold left the game
with a shoulder injury, but he might return soon. Kirby
Joseph left the game, but uh, he'll he'll skip skip

(10:53):
at least one practice, but still play against the Cincinnati
Bengals hm HM at pay Course Stadium Sunday at four
twenty five on Fox. That's the kickoff time. Bingals, by

(11:13):
the way, without without an injury prone Joe Burrow. One.
One thing I'd like to point out. One thing I'd
like to point out about Alien McNeil. He could there's
actually a good chance that he could return this season

(11:36):
this week, this upcoming week in Cincinnati, according to head
coach Dan Campbell. And this could this is this is
an earlier. This is a surprise considering Alien McNeil was
initially projected to be out until at least November. This

(11:58):
is September twenty nine. But man alive Neil, I guess
he'd up very damn quickly. So there you go. That's
all I need to talk about in terms in our episode.

(12:20):
Now what did we learn and what we learned? Segment?
The Tigers are absolute chokers because they have very little
offense on the roster, let on the starting lineup, plus
a crap a crap rotation Chris Paddock, why are you
starting him? A J hinch, you stupid idiot, get fired literally,

(12:46):
plus not a good bullpen except for Kyle Kyle Finnigan
and will Vest. Finnigan just hasn't been the same, hasn't
been the same since since he got injured. I'm just

(13:11):
hoping that he could pick it up. I'm gonna I'm
gonna observe games, at least games one and two to
see how each each relief pitcher fares. But this lineup
is the Tigers offense let alone. Lineup is just worthless

(13:34):
to to observe anymore because I've observed it so many
times and it just hasn't worked very much and not
definitely not enough. And then, of course the Lions have
plenty to clean up on offense. Two drops by Jamison Williams,
but he made up for it with a nice catch,

(13:55):
a key catch. I'm and Ross saying Brown with a touchdown.
Seem Laporta stepped up I'm a Saint Brown with two touchdowns.
Of course, Sam Laporta three for thirty nine, three cashes

(14:16):
for thirty nine yards. Khalif Raymond almost I almost forgot
to mention a sixty five yard touchdown pot return against
those Cleveland Browns. So that's what we've learned in our
episode of the Michigan Sports Truth Podcast. I'm Taylor Phillips.

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
