(00:50):
And of course, man oh man, don't do we have
a miracle or what? Yeah? Let me move this on
a little bit to the right. So the Tigers advanced
to the American League Division Series against the Seattle Americers.
(01:12):
They eliminate the Cleveland Guardians two games to one in
the wild Card series, all three games taking place at
Progressive Field. The pitching from Trek Scougel, Casey Mize, will
Vest Kyle Finnegan only allowing one walk all series and
(01:36):
getting and thus getting back to his form, Jack Flaherty
and Tyler Holden all making the main contribution. Tommy Canley,
on the downside, pitching wise, has never improved on a
consistent basis from the regular season through the midst of
this postseason run. And it was. It was a miracle
(01:59):
of the win. And I'm gonna explain why I was,
considering the Tigers have a low powered offense, let alone
starting lineup going into it, they scored. As Dan Dickerson,
the radio play by play voice of the Tigers, pointed out,
the Tigers scored just an average of two and a
(02:20):
half runs per game in their last eighteen regular season
games going into their series. That because if you can't score,
you can't win. And that's what brought the Tigers to
a fifteen and a half game lead choke job in
(02:40):
the American League Central Division standings. And the Guardians were
just the Tigers just handed the Guardians the whole division
like an entire big gift of like a motorcycle, the
key to the motorcycle, but only to you know, set
(03:04):
a ticking time bomb attached to it and bloom and
boom explodes back in the Guardians' faces. Neither team is
gonna make. Neither the Tigers nor the Guardians are gonna
make the American gonna make gotta even make the World
Series anyway, because the Tigers have the uh, way too
(03:28):
powerful Seattle Mariners in the American League Division Series. Because
the Marrigers have a very powerful, high powerful, high octane
offense led by Cal Rally, who had sixty home runs
just one short of Roger Merris in the regular in
(03:48):
a regular in a single regular season, and Julio Rodriguez
as well. He he's an All Star, and the Marrigers
have a great pitching staff as well. Starting annual, Game
one starts Saturday, Game two like eight oh three on
(04:09):
FS one. Game one time to be determined, but there
will be Game three at America Park at least wow,
so ca America Park is not closed for the year yet.
But they'll take a bigger miracle to get past those
(04:31):
Marriagers and advance to the ALCS because the Mariners again
way too powerful, especially with their offense with their best
Cali Rally and Julio Rodriguez. I'm just going to keep
it simple, right, here, So we got the football in
(04:56):
the Midden preview coming up right about now, Starting with
the twenty a three Michigan Wolverines back from their bye
week Saturday at now Non Fox against the Wisconsin Badgers,
who are coming off a twenty seven to ten loss
at home to the Maryland Terrapins. And the Badgers are
(05:17):
two and two, coming in two and two, Wolverines coming
in three and one. The Badgers have scored just twenty
point eight points per game two hundred third in the nation.
They have a good defense eighteen zero point eighteen and
three corps points against per game fifty fifth in the nation.
(05:40):
Michigan Wolverines forty eighth in the in the nation in
points against per game with yeah forty eight with with
(06:05):
allowing just seventeen point seventy five per h m hm, uh,
O'Neill is there is this? Danny O'Neill, a quarterback for Wisconsin,
(06:33):
has a quarterback rating up one hundred and forty one
point five rating sixty six hundred and forty passing yards
one hundred and sixty passing yards per game. Mm hm.
You got Jones and Dupree up out there in the
rushing in the backfield. Plus, uh, you got y got
(07:03):
a good passing game, a decent passing game, Mason and
Anthony the Anthony Junior. Got four receivers who have who
have gained over one hundred receiving yards total through through
their first four games, Mason, Anthony Junior, Bout and Kakahuna Kay.
(07:38):
And then you got and then on defense you get
Preston Zachman uh with the with eleven solo tackles mm
hmm and one assistant tackle that's eleven and a half.
Got riger with assad going to have Mason Rager at
(08:09):
outside linebacker. So Michigan is going to have to work
on stopping the run and covering the receivers as well
in the receiving department. It plus, let me take a
(08:40):
look here, Wisconsin's defense is gonna be in for a
real test, considering Michigan has scored thirty five points per game,
which is fifty seventh in the country and yards per
(09:03):
game sixty fourth in the nation. Yeah, I think, I
think inst in most areas, most departments, Michigan has outmatched Wisconsin.
(09:26):
I think Michigan coming in its seventeen and a half
point favorites with the over under total being at forty
three and a half, I think Michigan will apparently win
twenty eight to fourteen with the uh OH with the
(09:47):
total being under the projected forty three and a half.
So again, I think Michigan will win Saturday at noon
(10:08):
on box against Wisconsin, and then he got the Michigan
State Sparns at the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nebraska is also coming
off of bye week, but coming off they're close loss
to Michigan at home thirty to twenty seven two weeks ago,
two weeks ago, two weekends ago. But Nebraska's offense is
(10:30):
really powerful. They have outmatched Michigan State. The Cornhuskers have
outmatched the Sparns in most areas too, Eighteenth in points
per game with forty three point five YAOZA, three hundred
and fifty one point eight passing yards per game, which
is fourth in the nation, and four hundred and ninety
(10:52):
six point five total yards per game eighteenth in the nation,
and fifty on third down efficiency on off offensively twenty
ninth in the nation. You know's a I cannot even
bear to watch this, but it's televised on FS one
Saturday at four o'clock kickoff time, and then you get
(11:16):
the Lions at the Cincinnati Bengals, who suck Saturday Sunday
at four to twenty five on Fox. The Bengals are
ranked twenty fifth and defensive and defensive dv O A
rankings and twenty ninth in offensive dv O DVA DVA rakings,
(11:41):
which is absolute trash. Plus Joe Burrow is out for
the rest of the season, Zach Browning can't feel in
well at quarterback, so their their QB situation is pathetic
right now, especially with Burrow, as I mentioned before as
a form mention, being out for the rest of the season.
(12:03):
I wonder if Burrow is injury prone by the way,
But anyway, the Bengals are bad on both sides of
the ball, and it showed in their loss at the
the Show that it showed in their loss in Denver
to the Broncos this past Monday Night on Monday Night
Football on ABC A scene on ABC. But the key
here for the Lions is to try to work on
(12:26):
not allowing a touchdown on the opponent's first drive of
the game, just like they have in their first four
games this season. That's got to stop. Of course, they
bounced back in their last three in their last three
games after losing week in Week one at Green Bay
(12:48):
to the Packers. However, the defense has to start fresher
and play sixty minutes, not fifty or fifty two, sixty minutes,
(13:09):
and we're going to look for that in Cincinnati as
the Lions kick off against the Bengals at four twenty
five on Fox on Sunday. It's a late afternoon game.
It might be America's game of the week. But I
think but I think the lines will will win, hands down.
(13:32):
I think they will. They just have to prove me right.
I just want them to prove me right, at least
from a personal standpoint. So what we've learned segment the
Tigers are the sorry, let me start over here. So
(13:55):
so what do we learn in are what we've learned
segment the Tigers. Somehow, the Tigers pitching especially was the
main contributor, the main factor in the UH in their
advance in the team's advancement to the a L d
S by you know, elimiting the Guardians in Cleveland. Progressive
(14:20):
Field again, Trek Scoubel, Casey Mice will best Kyle Finnegan,
Jack Flaarting and Tyler Holten made the UH made that
main contribution. They all stepped up, they all chipped in.
(14:43):
The only two cons in the pitching staff are Tommy
Canley and Troy Melton. Tommy Canley has washed up. He's
lost his his touch, his command, and his velocity with
his change up. He keeps throwing too many freaking change ups.
Plus Troy Meltain is is now not comfortable and not
ready yet to pitch in the MLB postseason. He needs
(15:05):
more time to develop, especially in high leverage situations. That's
what lost Game two for the Tigers right there. Now,
I understand Kyle Finnegan again not being over work, but
(15:27):
putting in a guy like Troy Mountain who's not comfortable
or rent and already in the postseason is just stupidity
on aj Hinch. But their advancement to the Alds saved
(15:47):
aj Hinch's job as manager of the Tigers. Plus, Michigan
is rested and ready to go, ready to take out Wisconsin.
Michigan State is gonna have their hands full on the
road at Nebraska against the the uh A powerful court
(16:07):
Huskers offense, and then the Lions. UH not too difficult
of a task against the Cincinnati Bengals. I know uh
Taylor Decker has not practiced at all thus far this week.
He might, he may, he may not even play. However,
(16:27):
Alee McNeil is likely coming back to help out Aan Hutchinson,
Al Kadin Muhammad, Trevor Olowski and DJ Reader MHM and
(16:48):
Tyler and Tyler Williams, et cetera, mm hmm. DJ Reid
is already put on the I are out at least
four games. Is thankfully not out for the season yet.
Kirby Joseph Kirby Joseph hasn't practiced yet, shocking enough his
(17:09):
knee injury that has been reoccurring a bad knee. But
I don't I don't think Kirby Joseph will be alfa wait,
will be alf way too long. Even if he doesn't play,
I think the Lions will still win. M So, with
