Speaker 3 (02:15):
Well, it's great to have you on board. Steve.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
If you're an author, senior pastor a Capital Baptist and Dale, Virginia.
Since nineteen eighty two, you launched a weight loss campaign
your church and community after losing one hundred pounds, feature
many major outlets. You graduate from Literary University in the
theological Semity area. Your overweight all his life one hundred
pounds first grade, three and fifty. As an adult, he

(02:37):
turned to the Bible for help, and we'll be talking
about such things like the Biblical keys, why weight loss
works when dies fail, and the book is called Bah
for God. Twelve weeks to Lasting weight Loss for getting
a les. Steve tell us how I first got started.

Speaker 7 (02:52):
Well, basically, like you said, I've struggled with all my
wife and so I actually weighed over one hundred pounds
in first grade and to put that in perspective, the
average kid at that time weighed fifty two pounds. I
weighed one hundred and three. Just imagine, I'm literally double
the size of the average kid. But I used my

(03:13):
size to benefit me for sports, particularly football, and ended
up being the greatest football player, but good enough to
get about a half dozen scholarship offers. I ended up
going to Liberty which is now Liberty University, had a
four year football scholarship. And then after playing football, literally

(03:34):
the day I walked off the field, I made a decision,
a horrible decision that I was never, ever, ever, ever
going to exercise again in my life. I was burned out,
I was tired. I was worn out at coaches yelling
at me since I was like eight years old. I
was done with it. Okay, but and you know what,
I kept that promise for a quarter of a century.

(03:57):
But on top of that, I kept eating like a
folk ball player but exercising like one. But I kept
eating like one and got up to about almost three
hundred and fifty pounds. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol,
and diabetes. I was I was a sick man, Okay, honestly,
feeling like I was going to die if I didn't
do something to change my life.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
And I think at three and fifty pounds, you could
have easily played in football if you wanted to.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
And I say, this is that?

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Oh my goodness, I think you're making me hungry already I.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Having eats all right. Yeah, And it.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
Was that one exact, precise moment that simply influence you
into what you do in the rest of your career.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
Yeah. Well, honestly, just to be very clear, I mean,
I'm talking about a quarter of a century. I'm not
talking about you know, two years or five years or
even a decade. I lived this lifestyle of over eating
and under exercise or quarter of a century. And so
here I am thinking, you know what, I got this
beautiful wife, three precious shoulder, and I got this awesome church.

(05:00):
I have the opportunity to pastor. And you know what,
if you don't do something, dude, you're going to die.
You got you got have blood pressure, you got hack lesterol,
you got diabetes. And so I just started thinking, like,
you know, what should I do? And you know, I
am a Christian and I actually prayed. I asked God,
I said, God, what should I do? And I just
felt like he put in my heart, Well, Pastor Steve Reynolds,

(05:22):
what do you tell people to do when they got
a sin or an addiction or problem. Well, God, I tell
them to look in the Bible. And I just felt
like God said to me, Hey, you follow your own advice.
And so I did. I did. I opened up the Bible,
and I like to study words in the Bible. It's
just something I've always enjoyed doing. And I actually looked

(05:42):
up the word body in the Bible. It's in the
Bible one hundred and seventy nine times.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
Okay, yeah, one hundred and seventy that times. So basically,
I said, okay, there's got to be something to help
me here. This is what God is saying about the body.
And you know, sometimes he talks about them. The Bible
talks about the church it's called the body of Christ,
and then sometimes it's talking about our future body in heaven.
But most of them talked about the here and out
the body I'm in today. And so I started studying

(06:09):
those and I put together, uh, four keys to follow
to lose weight and to improve your health.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
And what are those four keys?

Speaker 5 (06:19):

We're Here's the amazing multi talented author and senior pastor
Capitalo Baptist and Annandale Virginia. Steve Ronalds Best knows the
anti fat pastor here on the Mic Waders show with
bod for God at twelve weeks to left lasting weight loss,
and you got into the four Biblical keys to sustaining
weight loss. This is time to think about it and
what are those four Biblical keys?

Speaker 8 (09:08):
All right?

Speaker 7 (09:08):
So there I am, you know, studying the Bible and
studying the word body, and I just kind of looked
at him and I came up with just something for
me to follow. I honestly, you know, never imagined I
would ever talk to anybody about this. So for me,
I put together these four keys and never thinking I
was going to write a book or anything else. And
the first one D is for dedication, and that's honoring

(09:31):
God with your body. And so for me, that was
bringing my belief system and my behavior together. I believed
my body was God's simple. I believe that I should
take care of my body and honor Him. But I
didn't behave that way, and so I first of all
had to say, Okay, God, I'm going to dedicate this
area of my life to you. The eye is inspiration,

(09:51):
that's motivating yourself for change. It's hard to change, and
when you begin to do healthy things, your body's not
going to say, good job, I appreciated it. Your body's
going to say what are you doing? You got to
have inspiration, you got to be motivated. And then the
E is for managing your habits, and that's where you
get into the eating part of the exercising part. You know,

(10:15):
the regular daily routine you're going to follow. And then
my personal favorite is TEA is for team, and that's
building a circle of support. And so I like to say,
don't try to lose the weight alone. Join a team
of losers and so try to get people around you
that can support you and help you. So again, das
for dedication, I is for inspiration, is feeding exercise, and

(10:39):
T is for team.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
And I think those are great words to live by
as well too. And of course I was thinking about
some of the people in the Bible. What did they
do when it came to weight loss and everything. You
like some like say with Moses or John or Paul
and King Seal, you know, what do they do to
manage their weight and then say help?

Speaker 7 (11:00):
Yeah, Moses is like my hero the Bible talks about
at the end of his life, he still had vigor
and his eyes weren't them And I mean you know.
He I don't can't tell you I know all of
what he did, but I can tell you I want
to be like him, you know. And then there's the
apostle John Uh you knows he said in one of

(11:23):
his books, he wrote that that we need to.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
Be in health.

Speaker 7 (11:27):
You know, here was a church leader promoting, you know,
not just spiritual health, but he was talking there about
also physical health and taking care of what your soul
and your body. And uh so you know, the Bible
I called the greatest health book in the world. And
it's it's only practical common sense to think that. Okay, God,

(11:48):
I believe God created me. God created us, and he
gave us a book to give us guidance in every
area of life, including managing our body and our health
and our wealths. So we need to look to the
Bible for help.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Also, well, the one thing that stood out to me
was the Book of Leviticus. Explain what you can eat
and what you can't eat, and maybe you can break
down some of that what you can eat, what you
can't eat, what's good for you, and what's not good
for you.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (12:14):
Well, I'm really big first of all, water, so I
like to say before anything was, water was. And so
if you go back in the Book of Genesis, the
first book of the Bible, it says God created the
heavens and the earth. That's verse one, and then verse
two says God's spirit hovered over the face of the waters.
And what's interesting in the note there is, you know,

(12:37):
it then goes on to get what we call the
days of creation. But God didn't even have a day
of creation from water in the sense that it was
like so important. It was just there. He had it there,
and and most of us were walking around dehydrated, and
and you're not going to be able to live healthy
without water. And whether you know, people say, well I

(12:58):
don't like water, well I get that, okay, But at
the same time, you know it's necessary, uh for for
good health. And so so we have to focus on
things like that. And then you know, the Bible's big
on portion control. You know, there's a sin in the
Bible we don't talk much about. It's called it's called gluttoning,
but it's right, yeah, just like.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
That, the kings and queens and everything.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Of course, you know, the kings sat there in course,
you know, they developed out and the like, you know,
Why am I sick?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
We eat too much? You just sound throwing nothing.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
Yeah, I like to say the truth is your your
stomachs about the size of your your fists. Think about
it like that. And so the question is, you know,
Steve Renolds wants to eat the size of his head, okay?

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Or is it head on?

Speaker 9 (13:43):
Professor Hale, professor something. I can't do that. I gotta
I gotta control the portions, you know. And then and
then you know, you gotta you gotta move. We were
made to move, God, God made us to move.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
I mean, you know, Genesis chapter two talks about God
put Adam and even in the garden, it's has to
tend and keep it. And and you know, they were
in this wonderful garden, and God didn't say just you know,
sit around eating candy bars all day and and you know,
serving our.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Cheetos and watching Netflix and all that stuff. It's like,
I don't think Cheetos was around them.

Speaker 7 (14:17):
So I don't think so they missed out on stuff. Okay,
he said, he said, tend that garden and keep that garden.
And really, I mean, you know, if you know much
about gardening, you know that that takes a lot of effort, right,
he said, Well, I think what he was saying is
keep moving here, keep keep keep taking care of yourself,
you know, and uh, you know, we don't use it,

(14:39):
we'll lose it. And we we got you know, we
gotta we gotta keep moving. So these are some of
the important foundations that are taught in the bottle.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
And also made me think of, Yo, what did Ave
and Eve exactly eat except for the incident where they
ate the apple? Good and evil and then everything jud
to it compete? Hey, wire, what did Adaman he actually
eat the before?

Speaker 8 (15:00):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (15:00):
What happened with the apple and the snake?

Speaker 7 (15:02):
Yeah, well, I think the whole thing. Yeah, I like
to I like to tease on that passage and say,
you know that they were told not to eat that
fruit and they they ate it, and we know we
should eat fruit, but we don't eat it. That's all
messed up in my mind. But basically, I mean there
was you know, the emphasis was on you know, uh, well,

(15:23):
I call it, you know, eat things as close to
the way God made them as possibly came. So that means,
you know, you know, I say, eat food made on
a plant in a plant. I know it's avoid the
processed food best you can, okay. And I believe that's
you know, the heavy emphasis of Adam and even and

(15:46):
what they ate and and you know, you know, you know,
when it comes to meats and stuff obviously, you know,
pork and stuff like that, you have to be careful
about because there's a lot of toxins in there, things
like that, and try to too.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
I have no problem with Parker. Some people do have
park It depends on the person. It's kind of a
gray area.

Speaker 7 (16:05):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm not I'm not saying I mean,
the truth is, I don't really say much about never
doing anything, okay, So again, I think the perspective and
balance is is good.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
So yeah, And one of the things that stood off
for me is that you may read one of the
passing Leviticus where it says you could eat the clothes,
the hooves and everything like that of the animals. But
if you really break it down, it's like you know,
eating a cow or like a sheep.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Or something like that. So it's like it's okay to
eat meat.

Speaker 7 (16:37):
Absolutely, I'm an absolute Yeah, I mean for sure. You know, again,
proportion control, you know, right, is the main thing.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
So and of course, nothing on the ground that and
all that.

Speaker 7 (16:50):
Yeah, yeah, you got to have protein, and there's more
than one way to get protein. But you know, most
of the protein I eat comes from from meat, so uh,
you know, I'm all for.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
And plus it's the whole thing with seapoot as well too.
If there's certain fish you can eat, but there's certain
fish you cannot eat.

Speaker 7 (17:07):
Right exactly. Yeah. So yeah, so even in the Bible
that you know, Jesus when the when the probable sun
came back, you know, it said, you know, that's that's
celebrating with the fatic half. I mean that was illustration
that God gate, you know. So so I mean again
for me, it's about portion control, you know. And I
know there's different I have lots of friends in the

(17:29):
space and there's major debates and arguments about all this, okay,
but I'm just I'm just Mike. I'm a regular guy.
That's that's I appeel the regular everyday people that are
that are struggling, okay, because I'm far from perfect myself.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
So and plus you also dedicate some stewardship as well
too that that does include your health. So it's just
like you know, absolutely your pair of stewards to Christ,
your pair of stewards and everything, but health is to
be overlooked.

Speaker 7 (18:01):
Yeah, well you're you're hitting on a major major points.
So going back to the four keys, the first one
is DS for dedication, honor God with your body. So
so for me, if you you know, if you would
have came up and asked my wife or my kids
or people in our church, is your husband, father, pastor
does he honored God with his life? And you know,

(18:21):
I'm not perfect, just be clear, but I think they
would have said, yeah, he does. But there was one
area I did not honor guy with my body, and
that was my knife and my fork and my ice
creams put definitely definitely didn't honor guy with that, you know.
And and this was the area and and what's what's
bad about me? Or sad about me? Or how do
you want to view it? I didn't care, okay. I

(18:44):
mean some people say, well, I guess during that time
you tried, And no, I didn't know, okay, I mean
sad to say I would actually pick on people that
were healthy. I would go out of my way to
say something, just tease him or whatever a little bit.

Speaker 8 (18:57):
You know.

Speaker 7 (18:58):
I was just I was just really at a bad
place spiritually in this area. And so the first thing is,
I mean, it's going to take the even if you're
not a Christian, it's going to take dedication. You got
to start with that decision. So I had to come
to the point where I said, God, this is an
area I'm going to surrender to you, because bod for
God is built off of a verse in Colossians one

(19:20):
sixteen that says we're made by God and for God.
And so a lot of times in the Christian community
we're big on that party we're made by God, that
he's our creator. But then just say that it says
we're made for God. And so I had a bod
for Steve, and I had to learn how to have
a bod for God because I was made for him,

(19:42):
okay for him. And so this is a huge area
to look at because honestly, you know, let's be real,
most of us know what to do. I mean, we're
in America, We're in the information society. We're in you know,
there's information all around us. I mean, we can't claim
they right, okay, right, yeah, I mean I mean, I

(20:03):
mean nobody is like surprised. I said, you need to
drink some water. Nobody's going like, wow, I've never heard
that before. Yeah you've heard it. Yeah, well you've heard it.
But the question is dedication, Okay, are you? Are you committed?
Are you? Are you sold out? You know, to honor
God with your body? And like I say, it's an
area of management stewardship, you know. And you know, Ible

(20:27):
says our bodies are God's temple. And I was a
temple trasher. I was trashing God's temple. I wasn't taking
care of it honoring him. I should. So you're inting
on a big point there.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
Right, And also to that, you know, it's also too
that we're the most you know, overweight society in the
world as well, especially among Christians, the most overweight group.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
And I guess the question is why is that?

Speaker 7 (20:54):
Well? Okay, so and so there was an official study
done on that and by Purdue University sociologists, and it
showed that the Christians are actually the most overweight people
group in America. And among the Christians, guys, who's the
most overweight Baptists? Okay, our pastor Capital Baptist Church. Okay,

(21:15):
And so I think you know, I put I put
I put the blame, okay, where it belongs, the pulpit. Okay,
you know most of us pastors seven I wrote a
book for pastors suit called The Healthy Renegade Pastor. So
so I read the book for the pastors. I read
the book for men called Get Off the Couch. So, so, pastors,
seventy six percent of us are struggling, uh, you know,

(21:39):
with with our weight and things like that. And it's just,
you know, it's kind of hard to speak on things
you're not doing too well. But I tell pastors, listen,
you know, look at me. I'm not not gonna put
me on the cover of a health magazine Anytime Center
or whatever.

Speaker 10 (21:54):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (21:54):
The point is, just say, okay, I'm struggling. Because what
you eat in private, you wear in a public so
everybody knows you're structure. Okay, So just I call it
break the silence, Just say, hey, you know what this
is in the Bible, and I need to do better
in this area, and we're going to do it together.
And and just just preach the word, you know, preach

(22:16):
God's word. And if we need to win the hearts
of the pastors, and if we can win the hearts
of the pastors, and we can use the pullpit to
teach and preach God's word in this area. Because the
Bible against the greatest health book of the world. We
can we can, we can change that statistic and I
hope to pray we will.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
And certainly he did as well too that maybe you
can you know, you know, quote some scripture as well
too about overcoming emotional eating and everything. Now, what'sn't freaking
like the emotional eating?

Speaker 7 (22:50):
Yeah, most of most most people, okay overeat because of
you know, comfort called comfort food. Right in the food
industry knows all about that. Listen to some of the
branding and some of the jingles and all that stuff.
Just just they they're all about emotion. They're all about
you know. It's like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, come hungry,

(23:14):
leave happy.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah exactly, it's gonna hit on that.

Speaker 7 (23:18):
Yeah, come hungry, leave happy. Okay. So, so the point is,
you know, life is hard. I mean there's trust me
a pastoring in the same church for forty years, I
can tell you life is hard and people have gone
through a lot of stuff in life. And in the
Christian community, it's it's kind of legal to soothe yourself,
you know, with with food, Like it's kind of like,

(23:40):
you know something again going back to what we said,
we're not talking about it, okay, So so it's it's
what we we you know, we were trying not to
turn to you know, drugs or alcohol or stuff like
that the best we can. But hey, food, go for it,
you know. And uh but in the end, you know,
in the end, you know, there's a verse. The Bible

(24:00):
says that our enemy, I believe, the Satan, comes to steal, kill,
and destroy, and he's using overeating and under exercising as much,
if not more than than you know, pornography or alcohol
or tobacco or or you know, shopping all these other
things that people can get into gambling. You know, he's

(24:22):
using overeating and under exercising to steal from us, kill us,
and destroy us. And we need to open up our
eyes and see.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
That that is rather interesting. Maybe just a couple of
passes from scripture to overcome the emotionally and for the
for any of the questions out there watching. Maybe it's
just a couple of scriptures.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
No, that's good, okay. You know, basically, you know, you
basically have to practice you know, a relationship with God
and deepen that relationship with him. And you know, the
Bible says, like in Hebrews four sixteen, Uh, you know
that that we can come before him, you know, and
find grace to help and time and need, and we're

(25:01):
invited to come to him, he was four sixteen. Next
he says, come boldly to the throne of grace and
your time of need, and he'll give you the grace
you need. And uh, and I love first Peter five seven,
casting all your care upon him because he cares for you.
And and we got to learn to go to God
and ask God to help us and strict us because

(25:22):
he understands you know. Uh, he understands our pain, he
understands our sorrow and uh. And and you know, and
he wants to help us, you know. And he wants
to give us life, you know. And and don't turn
to things that are going to take our lives. Let's
turn to things that can help us. And and God
is the one that can help us. So so build
that relationship with him and and and it is a relationship.

(25:44):
It's not a not a religion, it's not a bunch
of dos and don't and whatever. It's a relationship that
we have with the Living God through Jesus, and so
we have to focus.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
On that and certainly amazing too.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
And of course one of the programs that you recommend,
we'll talk about that into The Mike Widner Show at

the death of his child, but maybe he could rescue
this woman he's never met.

The Mike Wagner Show is brought to you by Serena
Wagner's book The Sweet Sawmist Now Avail on Emsong. This
book includes thirty exquisite pintings by well known and unknown
painters and King David songs. The Sweet Sawmist gives us
a new perspective on his life in this book through
the songs he wrote. His time as a shepherd in
the field is where the book starts, and it goes
on to describe a complicated and turbulent relationship with Kingsaung,

(28:47):
as well as other events. It's a story of love, betrayal, repentance,
and more. It also offers advice and approaching God and
living a life that pleases him. Check out the book
The Sweet Sawmist by Serena Wagner, now available on Amazon
keywords sweet song, It's sorry and a wagoner. Hey, Hey,
this is rape powers and boy are you in luck?

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Right place, right time?

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Tuned into the Mike Wagner Show.

Speaker 8 (29:11):
You heard me went back?

Speaker 5 (29:16):
Called author Steve brownanty anti fat pastor here on Mike
Whitner's show with Bought for God twelve weeks to Lasting
Weight Loss. You also have a program in called Losing
to Live and tell us more about that.

Speaker 7 (29:27):
Yeah, so basically Losing Live. The idea is based on
what Jesus said. Jesus said, deny yourself, take up the
cross and follow me and you'll live. And so Losing
to Live a lot of people when I first graded it,
there used to be a show called The Biggest Loser,
and a lot of people thought, you know, you're trying

(29:47):
to tie into that show. It has nothing to do
with that show, okay. And then to do it, Jesus said,
deny yourself, take up the cross and follow me and
you'll live. And I needed to deny myself and take
up the cost of health and wellness and follow the
Lord and I could live. And God help me live.
God helped me, you know, lose over one hundred towns

(30:10):
actually one hundred and thirty pounds. I got rid of
the high blood pressure, the high klesterol, the dot bees,
all that was gone, okay, and and God helped me
to live. So losing live is basically we do. We
do it as a weight loss competition because losing the
weight loss competition, and we have it in our church

(30:31):
at Capital Baptist Church and Andale, Virginia. People can join,
you know, on site and online. We have you know,
every time we do this. We have ten twelve different
states represented and people can find out more about that
at our church website. We love church dot org. We
love church dot org. But also there's other churches. Hundreds

(30:52):
and hundreds of churches have done that are using Boy
for God, okay and going through it because you can
also do it as a Bible study. H you know,
the great thing about body for gods, you do it
as an individual, or you can do as a group, okay,
and so a lot of people get in they do it,
you know, by themselves. I also now have a it
just came out. It's literally branded okay. Uh, you know,

(31:14):
I have I have an online course now that people
can do.

Speaker 8 (31:18):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (31:19):
And you can learn about that at pastor Steve Reynolds
dot com. Pastor Steve Reynolds dot com. And that that's
where the online course is located. And also the books
are written and and a lot of that helpful and
free information on the website there. But Losing Live is
based on just us coming together and we're going to
lose the weight so that we can live.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Also knows behind you too, it's got off the couch
as well.

Speaker 7 (31:44):
Yes, that's that's the book I wrote for men. Uh.
It's the truth is. There's not much in there done
plot of women too, Okay, But I have I have
a heart for going to the hard spots. I mean,
you know, the pastors and the men are not the
easiest ones to reach with this stuff.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
I just let's give a fried chicken or something.

Speaker 7 (32:03):
So I am a man and I am a pastor,
and I just have a burden, you know. The ladies honestly,
they come along a little easier, but God just really
jeweled in my heart to you know, and still, honestly
truth is probably three fourths of what I do involves
the women. Okay, but you know, I'm after the guys

(32:24):
and I'm after the pastors, and I'm doing everything I
can to help them because because I can identify, I
can relate.

Speaker 5 (32:31):
And that's certainly amazing what you're doing, I mean, just
great testimony what you have in the meantime, Pastor's teap
Where can you find your book and we can find
and works at.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
Yeah, go to go to pastor steeve rentals dot com.
That's this most thorough place Pastor Steambeetles dot com by
for God. Is there all the books I've betten actually
five books. And again I'm so excited about this, uh uh,
this course brand new people literally people have been asking
me to do this for years and I'm so excited
to be able to offer. And that's at the website.

(33:01):
You can also get the book books on Amazon as well.
Make sure the bod for God book has just also
been updated. So when you get to Amazon, make sure
you get the one that says revised edition. That's that's
the newest edition. So so make sure you look for
the Bod for God Revised Edition when you go. If
you go to Amazon, we will certainly check that out.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
We're the amazing pastor Steve Renolds, the anti fat pastor
of Bod for God. Twelve weeks at Lasting Weight Loss
here on the Mic Waders Show passed the Steve just
a few more things.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
What else can we expect me?

Speaker 5 (33:32):
Twenty twenty five and beyond side the classes everything, what
else can we expect from you?

Speaker 7 (33:37):
Well, I'm just I'm passionate about just continuing to be
a voice, particularly in the Christian community, because basically, you know,
I'm not a doctor, I'm not a trainer, I'm not
an nutritionist, you know. I'm, like I said, I'm an
everyday kind of guy. I'm a pastor, you know, And
that's who I'm trying trying to relate to them. Who

(33:57):
I'm trying to reach, That's who I'm best equipped to reach.
And I'm trying to help people understand the Bible can
help them. You know what most people think, Okay, I
want to lose weight, I need the weight watchers or
Jimmy Craig or what are these? And I'm not against those.
I think they're wonderful. But guess what I got something better.
It's called the Bible. And I'm just trying to keep

(34:17):
pushing that message out there. And Mike, I appreciate you
letting me do this today with your listeners. And I
hope they I hope they'll respond. Okay, I hope they'll
you know, I hope they'll get the book and consider
also the online of course, because there's a big need
out there. My goal is to die one day and say,
you know what, Christians are not the most overweight people group,

(34:39):
they're the healthiest people group in America. That would be awesome.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
You know you got that right? Yeah, I'm loving.

Speaker 8 (34:45):
For it to.

Speaker 7 (34:47):
And why shouldn't we?

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Okay, exactly one more piece of fright chicken, please, So
that's all I.

Speaker 7 (34:52):
Ask, all right, just to pull the skin off if
you can't.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Or maybe just a wing too.

Speaker 7 (35:00):
That's all right.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
A couple of things. Who do you consider biggest influence
in your career?

Speaker 7 (35:06):
In my career, probably my my mentors, uh, you know,
doctor Jerry Falwells. As we're recording this this is actually
the date of his death, and he was a big
influence in my life and a lot of the professors
I had at Liberty and then I've had ongoing uh
people that have helped me out. The book I wrote

(35:27):
for pastors, The Healthy Renegade Pastor. I wrote that with
a pastor named Nelson Searcy, and he has a coaching
program that I'm a part of and I've learned a
lot from him as well. And so I'm just grateful
for all these different people because honestly, I'm a lifelong
learner and I just want to keep learning and keep
learning and keep growing as long as I live.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
And that's certainly amazing blessing as well. What what's the
best advice you can give to a by at this point?

Speaker 7 (35:54):
Well, I think I think live for God. I've never
met anybody that's ever lived for God says you know what,
that was a big mistake. I shouldn't have done that.
But I've met a lot of people that regretted, you know,
living life for themselves and all the hardship that comes
with that, the paint so just you know, none of
us are perfect, but let's do the best we can

(36:14):
to serve God and find a good local church where
you can learn the Bible and get together with other
followers or Christ.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
And that's certainly great advice as well.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
Where is the amazing pastor of Steve Browns, the anti
fat pastor of Bought for God twelve weeks a lasting
weight loss? Here in the Mic Waiter show past the
see verybee, thank you time, you have been a fantastic

there's a lot there's a lot of free materials on
there as well, so you can go there. Also, we're
