Speaker 1 (00:01):
Bad. Welcome back to the muster on Hakanu the song
is bad to the bone. Perhaps he's not bad to
the bone, but he's rammed to the bone. Ram Breeder
Claydon Peters and Peters to Neelix naming sponsor here on
the muster. You know, pap Hell's it for an introw
for a Monday.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
I neediot?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Pretty good?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
How's everything go? Yeah there around hereiot way.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Oh, it's it's got pretty good. It's cool here today.
I'm going to have a cool win. But the sun
looks like it's going to shine shortly so but the
weekend was obviously beautiful. Yeah, so I now it's looking
pretty good. Set us up for a good spring.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Makes a big difference to what we had this time
last year, I suppose. I mean, like you said, as
early days.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah, it's early days. But oh we'll get we'll get
a bit of beer with us through Lemming. We always do,
but obviously hopefully not as bearers last year. So you're
going forward. We we should, we should. We look, things
are looking good.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So you're all set up to the lambing there?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, the early sister sort of jourdey start today is
a few lanes popular names, but you know, I thought
it might have been an angel had a few over
the weekend. But yeah, I've sort of just started today,
so yeah, I know, and the rest was spressed to
spread a few other years out today and then the
rest will be spread out the end of the week.
So yeah, just doing a bit of a bit of
vaccinating and stuff, and it's getting ready for set up
(01:17):
for them.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Really, when's are grazing finished up? Okay, you're in.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, I was talking about a crop le if I'm
going to try to get through to it, throw it
at the stage. But if we get a cold spell
next week, the hobbits will clean up, get cleaned up
a bit quicker, I hope.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Well, just a few swedes, is it?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, it's too swedes. Yeah, and yeah, but as he's
just's just been a bit drier, so in a bit warmer.
So the sheep stock have been eating so much so
I'd rather have a bit left over than be struggling
the fever stock.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Well, the general consensus seems to be Clayton. Everybody talking
about going on to the crops and driving on there
and not making any MUDs. So every season has certainly
happened to interpretation.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah, no, it's been good that this last month has
been awesome on the crops. It's been yeah, really good
eaveness walking the follow big break. It's not walking slots
and through mud. So we didn't ever wit June. So
we you know, we sort knew were going to have
to get a dry spout some stage, but not quite
as draw as we've head for July. And but he
least we're gonna a bit of a ful spring of
this year, so we're get a bit of grass growth
but earlier, so sort of like than all old.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Days, Daffy's are barbing up. We got the lawn mode
used today. I mean someone or some people were mowing
lawns and July for goodness sake, just to get that
winter ridge off the grass.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Actually, my wife mode the lawn in July too, and
I thought I've never seen that.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Of it before. Obviously that water leaks dried up then, yes,
though that we got the water leak tied up here.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, it was a bit of major but yeah, so yeah,
that's all good. But I know we're just what's hitting
on the farm moment. We're just one of us, but
sharing the remarks tomorrow morning. So we'll be wearing a
few fleeces tomorrow, so looking forward to that to see
what they look like coming out of the Wolf.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
What are your thoughts around Wolf for the next twelve
months or so? You think therese are maybe silver lining
in there somewhere.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I'd like to hope so any like at the moment,
it's still not great. Obviously, we create prelimb for a
few years and we made a little bit, but we're
not making as much as we should be out of
it for the product it is. Yeah, it should improve, hopefully.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
As far as the price of red meat. What do
you make of it? Partly?
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Ye?
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Are you optimistic that we're going to see maybe the
words team backs over the next twelve eighteen months?
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Oh, that's the night. I don't know. I just yeah,
I'm I'm I'd like to see it stay up high.
But I just think ten but dollars like it's just
getting probably a bet up there, and you're going to
think of the other side of people going to afford
to buy it. I know there's a bit of a shortage,
but it's not gonna be realistic. I'd rather that's around
that sort of eight dollars fifty for the next five
or six years to be ideal. But if it stays
(03:40):
round ten, we're good at good on it. But yeah,
I just yeah, I think it will drop a bit
over the Genuary period, look like it normally used to.
But we'll see what evans. Yeah, I think there's just
going to be a bit of a shortage out there,
so that's what's going to keep the price up.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's been intriguing to see the price of better being
than news the way it has and journalists blaming Miles
Harrell for the price of batter and trying to blindside
them during and promptu interviews. But they just don't obviously
understand how trading works as a trading nation.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, yeah, And I started it really about the papers,
and it initially realized what a pound of battle was worth,
even as my wife was it what we pay for
a pound of butter. Holy moly.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Well, it's in the beck of your mind when you
go shopping for no reason at all, have butter's on
a little bit of a special thinking do I need
to buy some? Not that you need it, but because
it's been forefront more often than not. At the moment,
I suppose.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, yeah, no, that's why I don't go grocery shoping,
because I get a bit of a frighter to see
what things are worth.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Do you not do the shopping at all when you
go into town? Sure?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
No, No. Normally if I go shopping any of the
grocery bill goes up by quite a bit more.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Well, just just bloody chips and bread and tea sauce
and just a.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Few muscles and a few bits and pieces like that
we don't see much of.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Hey, just reap that better rugby over the week in
the All Blacks. A lot of disappointment over that game
against the agis What do you make of it? Are
we as bad as what people are saying? Or is
it just a black?
Speaker 2 (05:07):
I don't know. I actually just watched the replay last
night because I never watched it yesterday morning and I
didn't know the score and it was it wasn't even
I didn't even think it was great to watch. I'd
actually rather watch the NBC Rugby to be fair, I
thought it was great Australia. But cer Efica last weekend.
I think that was good for Australia rugby. I know
they lost the weekend, but yeah, I'd say all that's
(05:28):
gonft to improve a lot. When they came up against
South Africa in Australia, well, they haven't.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Lost at Aden Park since nineteen ninety four when the
Fridge got the try from the other end of the year.
So it's going to be interesting how that all plays out.
But you talk about the NBC at Tiger, you guys
are going pretty good.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, no, yeah, they had a good when you started.
I didn't see it, but yeah, and then I even
see out and I watched South and on Thursday night
and I was that was an awesome game to watch
and you know, them to stay in there win the game.
I thought it was really cool.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
And the Irony Bean they've got a shield challenge against
way Keto nixt Sundays. So who knows you always did
a dream when it comes to the log of water space.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Well, I think that that's the way the NBC is
at the moment. I think any team could probably went
on on the day. Like you know, it just beends
who wants it most. I reckon, but you know, like
I see you up. I'm got a bit of a
hiding again, thought, I don't know what's going on there.
For their for their player pole and that I just
don't know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Auckland Counties and North Harbor are propping up at the
bottom of the table. Something you never thought you'd hear
Auckland's zero from four.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, no, you're something you'd never see low. I don't
think I can remember something like that.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Hey, you get on your papa, let you carry on.
We know you've got a lot on your plate, but
you guys are at Petersons yourself to need in the
team being major sponsors. Here on the Muster, we always
appreciate your time.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
No, thanks very much.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
